(00:03):
It's the Neighbors podcast. Will besome mic. They discussing different issues that
affect up treat them like that. It's the neighbors. Were the neighbors?
Yeah yeah, Hey, y'all, thank you very much for tuning in today.
Welcome back, Welcome back. SoYo, I have I think I
(00:24):
need to put my co host ina rehab go again. I think he
needs to go to rehab. Youknow what I do? I really do.
I think he needs to go torehab, y'all, I really do.
UM. We're seeing here recording beforewe record it, he's talking about
his addiction. In between recordings,he's talking about their addiction. You know,
(00:48):
he h he has this. Heshares this addiction with people that he
shares blood with. He's trying torecruit me to this addiction. I don't
know why it is. I don'tget it. I don't understand why.
I don't understand why. I don'tunderstand why. I don't even understand.
(01:17):
So before we get into what thisaddiction is, I want to know how
many of you have have an addiction? UM that that does not hurt you?
So, so what I mean bythat is, you know, we're
not talking about drugs or like,we're not talking about that. You know,
those are serious and we're not gonnalaugh about that. You get what
(01:37):
I mean. We're talking about addictionslike you like sneakers, women like you
know, women day pocket books, perfume, et cetera, et cetera,
or stuff like that. You know. Um, you know. I had
an aunt who said her addiction wasbuying pens meaning writing pens um, which
I thought that was interesting. Anotheraunt who talked about her addiction was Teddy
(02:00):
Bears. Um you know, soum so. So the thing is is
that, yes, I'm I'm atechie. I'm a techie person, Yes,
sir, you are. You know, I'm a techie person, and
I like gadgets and stuff like that. Yep, the biggest two in the
world, you know. And thereality is, you know, I probably
(02:23):
I'm a techie person, but Iprobably like my my transformers. More right,
I got transformers everywhere. Now nowy'all don't see them. I mean,
my wife made me clean them up. But when over the weekend when
we were cleaning out the garage,I didn't realize I had so many storage
bins with toys in it. Yo. Ever talk about see you talking what
(02:46):
I'm gonna do. But but buthere's the thing, though, I don't
think my addiction is as big asmice. I don't think so. I
don't think so. You know whyhe has so much stuff that he can
just give away a thousand dollars producteasy because the addiction is just so much.
(03:09):
What it does, it gets himan excuse to get something else.
Yeah, absolutely, you know Hill, you know, And I keep saying
to him, like, yo,you know, you need to write a
book about it, you need todo a YouTube channel on it, whatever
(03:30):
else, Like we talk about againour favorite social media platform, you know
where we talk about or because I'minto it too, you know, I'm
into home renovation, whatever else. And I didn't realize how expensive, Yeah,
it can get. It can't reallyget really even to the point where
(03:51):
I which I was shocked that Ibought something before he did. So we're
talking about home entertainment products. Now, Um, I have to admit because
of pandemic. Let's say, let'ssay pandemic first. You know, pandemic
(04:15):
it you know, when you couldn'tgo outside, you get to stay home
and enjoy what you have, right, You're comfort of your home, right,
right, and and you pay attentionto what the movie theaters are doing.
You know, they're trying to makeit almost feel like you're at home.
Yep. That's when they start streamingeverything on HBO Max, right,
(04:36):
uh, Amazon whatever, such awhever streaming platform that is right, right,
you know. So, so youthink about how comfortable the movie theaters
have become now with them doing adining thing, right, you know what
again trying to give you that thatat home field. You know, your
chairs can't recline all that type ofstuff. Well, but it's still not
(05:00):
the same to me, I mean, now here here. Here's the flip
side of that. The flip sideof that is you just don't get the
um experience that you get with beingoutside with other people. Though you know,
always invite people you can, butsometimes though some people are just so
hilarious their comments. You get whatI mean, you know, Um,
(05:27):
but I have to say that.Uh well, first let me let me
backtrack, because I said I boughta piece of equipment before he did.
Um. I was already into Roku, right, I was already doing Firestick.
And then my my uncle had talkedabout his Apple TV, and so
he started talking about how he takeshis Apple TV. He's in the service,
(05:49):
so he takes his Apple TV withhim. You know, they're there,
you know, hotels, all thattype of stuff, trainings or whatever
else. So he talks about howhe takes his Apple TV and it connects.
It hasn't failed him, right youknow. So he has one for
actual home that's the newer version, but a real old one he takes traveling.
(06:10):
Wow. Okay, you know,um, one of the first gin
or second gin Apple TVs, rightokay, and so um, you know,
and because he never has a logback in, right, you know,
he just has to find the WiFi. I find. That's it.
That's it. That's it. AndI was like, you know,
and he said, because it's nottaking up his computer, because he got
to do work on his computer, right, you know, so he gets
(06:32):
to use the hotel TV. Youknow. I like, wow, that's
a good idea. I'm sorry.I'm sorry about that. I didn't but
but he was just saying. Histhought was, you see how small the
Apple TV is. Yeah, ifit's running your bag, your pocket or
whatever, you know, it doesn'ttake up a whole lot of space.
(06:56):
When you can use your the WiFi hotspot off your phone. Yeah,
probably can't. You should be ableto. You should be able to,
you know, so if you gokimping and all right? So yeah,
so the so that's his whole thingis portability, right right, portability you
know. So if you're able toto do that, find some type of
(07:18):
way to get power to it,you're in you know. Um so uh
So when I had gotten it,I had told Mike, Mike, you
know, yo, dude, youknow this thing is nice, right,
It's nice? Um, upscaling everything, you know. Um, it looked
(07:40):
really nice. It was nice andand fast. I liked it better than
than I liked it better than thatfire stick for speed. And then because
the Roku was just super slow, right, um, I didn't like that
at all. Um. And thenI and the only reason why I didn't
(08:01):
want to get the Apple TV becauseeverything else I have his Apple, right,
you get what I mean. SoI was trying not to be in
the what they call an ecosystem, but guess what, it sucked you right
in. I had no choice. You had a choice, Yeah, I
had no choice. I know what. I agree with you whenever, but
(08:22):
I have to say that that Mikeis really he has enlightened me and paying
attention to because I've been paying attentionto all these sound places, you know,
sound videos. I'm like, yo, these speakers are expensive. Yeah
yeah, you know some speakers onthe YouTube it was like as a house
(08:45):
one hundred some thousand dollars, likeone hundred thirty thousand dollars just for two
speakers, dude. And I think, but I forgot what the country they
from. I'm thinking from Sweden somethinglike that, Okay, And it's crazy
to speakers like for Kyle's they canrun you. It's man, It's it's
just it's just crazy how much moneyyou can speak and spending one system.
(09:07):
It's like no limit pricing how muchmoney you can spend. Right, And
I'm like, I feel like I'mstarting all over again. But you know,
I've been in I've been in thehome theater for like decades years and
all started to crutch Field back inthe seventies. You get the crush Field
magazines into the house and my fatherlike, all right, you know I
(09:28):
was in there, like when wehad when the stereo vc rs came out,
didn't a laser of desk. Itwas a rap, right, The
big old laser. The sales ofthe album after that, it was a
rap man. It's like, man, it's like you can like you said,
you can always upgrade. That's thisthing. That's why I got this
itch now it's it's a bad disease. Man. So if you need anything,
(09:58):
talk to Mike. He'll point youin the right way. I'll put
you in the right way. Yes, he might as well just get a
job at Crushfield. I don't behonest. Crushfield best buy something fleet.
I know Bell than best Buy does. Especially you know it's a family hobby.
(10:18):
He's deep into it because you knoweverything. And he stayed on YouTube,
my favorite channel, my favorite channel, and he streamed like, Yo,
this is ridiculous. It's ridiculous, but it just is. It's a
beautiful thing. I mean, inmy living room, I tell you,
I tell you ain't gonna be scirt. My home theater system. I got
(10:41):
twelve speakers in my living room, twelve Can y'all imagine that? Can y'all
imagine twelve speakers? Now? Seewhen I when I hear twelve speakers,
I think loudness. Now, lookingat these videos, it's nothing necessary loudness.
(11:03):
It's all about clarity. Clarity, yep, you know, and you
don't have to turn it up tohear it exactly to enjoy, right,
And it's all about being immersed, you know. So so now here's a
flip side. He's into that partof immersion where I'm probably more into the
lights being invert immersion, right, you know, So I have I have
(11:26):
to go V light behind the TV. So when part of the screen is
blue and the other part is purple, like I have the lights right,
look, you get what I mean. You know, So let's let me
watch you which I let me geekout for a second. I like Dragon
ball Z movies, the role withthat, you know, so having those
(11:50):
lights flashing and moving and moving withthat individual things like that, dude,
it's crazy. Ye yeah, Iunderstand, you know. And then but
then imagine you have that along withthe sound with the sound, right,
you get what I mean. So, so um, that's that's the part
that I think creates the immersion, right, you know, because if you
(12:11):
think about it movie theater wise, the skin of screen is bright. But
I always wonder because you know, when they turn off the lights, there's
always some type of mood light inthe theater the lights are not always off.
Now now it's like basically dim.Right. Well, what the question
(12:31):
is for me has always been whenstuff is going on the screen or the
lights story responding to that because ithad to because they had to be on
that level before we even got tothat home. You understand what I'm saying,
yea, I understand that. Yeah, but I don't. I don't
know because basically the biggest that screenis all that light coming from that screen.
(12:52):
It's kind of hard to tell rightbeyond and you basically focused on the
big screen, see what was goingon? Oh man, damn right right
right right, right right right right, hey, oh look look look you
(13:13):
know, it's kind of hard totell because, like I said, the
massive screen that home, I mean, the movie theaters have it's it's kind
of hard to see right right, you know, but it's it's but but
you know, so, so whywhy twelve? Though you can't do like
eight, you can do eight.Look, you can do britty, you
can do from shucks two point one, three point one, five point one,
(13:41):
seven point one, eleven point one, thirteen point one one one is
really the subworffer. But the guysone you can have multi subworffers. Wait,
so so here again, I'm gonnagive you a number. Explain it
to the to the people, right, okay, because because here again I
didn't understand it, Okay, untilI started looking at these videos. I'm
(14:03):
like, Yo, what the heckis a system that's nine point two point
four? Got you? Okay?So so what is that? Nine point
two point four is nine bad layerspeakers? You got to the towers,
the front speaker, your one tower, the center channel, Chinna town to
picker speaker, the left. Allright, let's rephrase that. You got
(14:24):
the left speaker, the Senate channelspeaker, the right speaker. Then you
got the side surround left and right. Then you got your back surrounds left
them right and all. You canhave the whys in between, the sides
around and the front speaker. Theycalled it. Why now would you say
(14:46):
to two? Yeah, that's thesubworphers, two speaker subworker for your base,
right, the four speakers, thefour they could be your atmost and
your ceiling or height speakers on thewall. So so so again, that's
how deep that thing is. Yes, I didn't, I didn't realize it
was that deep. It's that deep. You I mean they got a system
(15:07):
you could have like nine point fourpoint six dude. I mean I didn't
understand why you would have so manysubs, right, but you want that
base filled the room, not justfor one every the base for to fill
the room. Well, here's whatI didn't know. And and listen to
that or getting into that having eachbase at a different frequency. I had
(15:33):
seen some videos where they were havingthem hitting different frequency. Okay, um,
because every every base doesn't hit thesame frequency. Rye either. That's
where you talked about what they havethe Benny dsp I guess, yeah,
just plug it up a little smallbox. They plug this up with his
up to and plug it into thereceiver. But the thing is is to
(15:54):
collaborate that you got to have withthe mic and the laptop. Right,
Yeah, that's what me and myyoungest brother would talk about that too,
you know. And I'm like,yo, like and so that's why when
I listened to Mike talk about Iwas like, man, listen, that's
a rabbit hole. Man, pleaseyou that's a rabbit hole. Yeo.
(16:17):
I mean because when you when youwhen you're looking at something, you really
want to enjoy it, right exactly, no matter what it is, like
especially action, pack drama, right, you know, Marvels whatever, you
know, even comedy, but youknow guys in the movies and all that.
And you hear that rong, youhear that base right right right right,
(16:41):
So it's it's it's a voice ofdisease, disease. So he's he's
out looking for new recruits. Imean, you truly set up a nice
home theory something, no matter whatit is, I will help you.
You know. That was like Isaid, I didn't know it was that
(17:03):
deep. This this man, itis deep. It's deeper than deep.
Yeah, I didn't. I didn'trealize how far could go, right and
the even like for an example,um, even when I connected my my
Apple TV to my sound. Ihad my Apple TV to my sound.
(17:23):
I got three of them in thehouse. One of them I have connected
to my Apple Pie got you,you know, my Apple speaker, which
I love that speaker, right,I look as small as it is great
sound, right, Um, thenI have it connected one connected to my
Samsung soundbar, got you, whichit's okay, it's all right. But
(17:47):
then I have it to my actualsystem, you know, and the sound
it's so amazing. Yes, yes, it is so amazing. You know,
I didn't realize that the system themitself, how much of a different,
how totally different? Right right verse. So and I've gone back,
I've looked at some old movies andthat's the crazy point makes you go back.
(18:10):
You're like, damn, what Imissed all this? Right? Yeah,
you know, you're like, wow, it's not a cricket, you
know, you know, like wow, like I didn't hear that before those
So so no one says you haveto go get you know, a twelve
point twenty point or whatever, likeyou gotta be. I mean, I've
seen where they had the sub andyou know, I talked about it.
(18:32):
I didn't even know you can havea sub and start into a wall and
start in the wall. You know. I've seen so many different types of
things and setups and things like that, like it. It's crazy. YouTube
is dangerous, man, It's crazy, you know. And and as Mike
says all the time, you know, you say all the time, Yo,
you can go in the real depth. You can go real depth exactly,
(18:52):
you can, because I'm seeing somepeople spend like least like oh my
god, it can start from tenthousand and up right and up right,
and it's like I've seen people too. We talked about this the other day.
They took a story sheds right man, listen, yo, dude,
(19:14):
you know And because so, becauseI'm a techie, I like, I
look at of course home office typestuff, you know, and just the
amazing things that they do with thisdon't make any sense. So I used
to laugh. I'm gonna be honestwith y'all. Used to laugh at that
commercial. Then she was commercial withshe like, uh, you know,
(19:36):
and you're like, yo, likewhy is it so important? And you
start looking at other videos and like, yo, it's just you're limited by
your own imagination. This guy,I mean, I see one guy he
actually added central air, yes,and in the insulated everything. Wow,
the theater seats, everything, man, I saw every I didn't see central
(20:00):
air as much as I've seen manysplits, many splits. Yeah, I've
seen many splits. Yeah, yeah, that's what. And I've seen like
there's one guy he um. Ifollow a lot of people that when they
do a home makeovers and you know, they're they're blog blogging stuff or whatever
else, and they talk about howthey upgrade their house and it seemed like
(20:22):
after they get their house to acertain point, now all of a sudden
they're built on top of their sheds, right, explaining their sheds, Like,
first of all, I'm like,we're in the order they live at.
You get what I mean? Andthen what do y'all do? How
much money do y'all really have?Right? And for y'all to have a
whole home theater in the house,in the house, and then you turn
(20:44):
around and duplicated and triplicated in yourshed, it's crazy. It's crazy,
you know. And how much poweris that? Where do you get electricity?
You know? So, but againyou're only limited by your imagination,
yep, your menitination can take youa loan, you know. And you
gotta think. And what the otherpart is that I learned too, even
(21:07):
though you don't have the money forit. Today, you got planning for
tomorrow. You got planning for thetomorrow. Yep. You know. Because
once you run them wires, youmight as well do the wires while you
have everything open. This is true. Yeah, that's what I did because
I read all my speaker wires underneaththe floor. Right, So man oh
man, So again y'all need somehelp we're just trying to find a way
(21:32):
to entertain. Yeah, that's up. You know, it's it's crazy,
deeply crazy, but it's a beautifulfact that you sit down and watch it,
Like, yo, did your popcorn? Your googers? One of the
things we didn't get in touched youknow, we didn't touch TVs. I
think you can't. I think youcan't really um the TV wires. A
(21:56):
lot of people I've seen now youprobably see the two on YouTube, the
throw projectors. I want one ofthose, man, I really do.
I just don't have no place toput it right now. Yeah, right
now, you gotta have you upthere against the wall, fitness facing the
wall, right, But you knowI want one of those, right,
I mean I want to pretty well, I have a projector. I just
(22:17):
don't have some place to put it, right. But let alone a short
throw one, which is I thinkit's a little easier as much easier than
of hanging up because some of theprojectors you up off the ceiling. Right,
some of these suckers wear one hundredpounds right, Yeah, you know,
shucks, that's a lot of wine. But it's short throw projector bam
bam boot right, it is youknow. So I mean like that,
if I had a different setup likethat, I mean, if I get
(22:41):
this old lead, I would havegot it. I would have thought about
getting a short throw projector, becauseI said, someone like the prices coming
down, right they are? Andman, well, I mean they they're
nice. And here's the thing. When you look at it, it doesn't
even look like a projector. Nope, nope at all. I didn't know
what it was at first, exactly, I didn't know what it was at
first. So so one of thethings that I'm really interested in because Mike
(23:07):
and I were always talking about, you know, upgrading our living situation,
right, I would love to havea place where not only do I have
my theater, but I want toarcade in there too. Yeah. I've
been looking at that too, seeingthat on YouTube too. Man. You
know, so um, how manyof you out there are ready to to
(23:27):
to explode if you will, youknow, upgrade you know, just your
your your own luxuries, right, you get what I mean? You know,
you don't have to go out andspend you know, one hundred to
one hundred and fifty dollars just foryou to watch a movie, right,
let alone tickets someone else out tome, man, it's costly. It
(23:48):
is costly, Like yeah, dude, like you especially thought go to popcorn
the Google, but it's everything hotdogs. Oh that is it. They
can run you put it this awaya family four. You can least spend
like one hundred and fifty dollars minimalminimal minimum. Wow wow. So so
unlike someone like myself who who investin voodoo. Um you please, I'm
(24:14):
right behind. So so the realityis like over the weekend, Creed came
out and Shazam came out, andthey just and they still in the movie
theater. No, but I'm justusing those as an example. Like,
you know, certain certain platforms bringsthe movie out so fast, right,
special one like that. The otherday I watched on a Amazon beast right
(24:40):
that was all right, all right, So if you just be patient,
be patient, yep, it'll beout soon, especially the movie ain't doing
good at the theater doing it quick, right, you know, so you
know you go out. I mean, I didn't expect for Creed three to
bring out so fast. I didn't. I didn't especially for for it just
to come out, but you knowwhat, Dode Shazam just came out and
(25:00):
ain't well I think I think,uh DC man, they having problems.
They got yeah, that's what theysaid, is the productive producers. Yeah,
they have them problems, right, even the guy who was playing that
sham we said it, Yeah, well that's because they're shutting everybody down,
like the guy's not Superman no moreand like people ain't coming back. But
(25:22):
he that guy they had the lastcouple or well Superman, I'm thinking about
Batman. The last Batman was like, okay, well look look what they
did with Batman. Then they comeup with Michael Keaton. I gotta go
with old school, you know,I bring old school back down. What
you're going coming out? So flash, Yes, well that one looks promised
that school be they got. That'sgonna have to be the Life Savers.
Shazam was corny, Batman was corny, right, so come on, you
(25:48):
trying to you gotta keep up withmarble, right because you know that Man
and Wasps weren't too. Yeah,I gotta I want to see that that
was it Quantuminium. I haven't seenthat. That should be old there'll be
old this. Yeah, it'll bewatching that Jack, you know it'll be
out soon. Well, but Imean all the other ones recently, I've
been kind of yeah to me,you know, Doctor Strange, it was
(26:11):
cool, it was cool, right, it was cool. Spider Man.
I think Spider Man probably the best. Right, The man was real good.
Yeah, my daughter got me thatwhen I was shocked. It was
real good. Yeah. Yeah,I haven't seen it yet. Man,
Yeah, I adn't mean like thefirst She's okay, I mean back in
the day, she'sam. I'm like, what just she'sam. Back in the
day Billy Josi used to be tryingto around the RV, right right,
(26:37):
I know Foster Home. Yeah,I mean, I'm gonna be honest with
you. If they didn't give upBlack Adam because you know it's not coming
back, I see why. Well, well here I thought it would have
been decent for him, she'sam Superman, like you know, he didn't want
(26:59):
that. Well, DC didn't wantthat because because I mean, the Rock
he was doing stuff with Cavil theSuperman right right, right, you know,
so they was trying to they wasgreat promoted. Can you imagine what
that would have been like elaborated? But no, that would that would have
been That would have been blockbuster.Yes, it would have been you know,
(27:21):
because by the time you do themand you got Justice League and you
know, uh, because Mamoa orwhatever his name is, he would have
been big, right, you know. And then what's her name wonder Woman?
You didn't need Batman in that. But by the time you put all
them together, oh yo, thatDC was actually on track track to they
trained the rail right and they nevergot back on that track. Nah.
(27:45):
Nah. So so y'all you knowsaid, you know, only to cut
you out. Like with the Batmanmovie, I'm like, wouldn't a Batman
get a mad Max car? Rightright? Right when he went to the
juke y'all like, yo, okay, yeah, hooked this up and it
was I mean, I understand it'sdark in the movie. There's dark,
but it was too dark, rightyeah? Yeah, he gloom and it
(28:07):
plus it was too dragged out right, you're gonna do some crime or love
stories, right right, And likeyou said, they had to bring it
back old school. Michael Keaton.Yeah, that's because when you know,
they they missing out, they're missingout, and they missing out because they
thought that what's his name because ofTwilight was a Twilight he was in.
(28:32):
It was a Twilight world. Yeah, yeah, because he was a vampire.
He was a v win the vampires, so um, they thought maybe
he would bring back some other magic. But he didn't do that. Well
that's Batman and then been the afflack. I don't think he did that well
Batman either in my opinion. Soyeah, yeah, it's like I mean,
he was okay but okay, um, you know, but I think
that when when you look at thosethings, especially especially the HBO version and
(29:00):
the what's his name? The whenwhen the Justice League was in black and
white when they showed all four hours, I can't think that version and then
you got again, you got thelights and you got the system, right
man. Yeah, Now I didn'tlook at all four hours at one time.
That was assinin like, I can'tdo that, you know I did.
I think I did an hour anda half and then the rest or
(29:23):
something like that. You know. But uh, but you know those are
type of things man. You knowagain, this addiction is crazy. It
is crazy. It is crazy, but it makes you feel happy, so
be right. So you know, and it keeps you out of trouble,
keeps you out of well, wellwhat keeps you it keeps I mean,
(29:45):
let's just say you were get introuble more than no. I'm just I'm
just saying that it keeps you outof trouble of of you know, you're
not out there in the streets doingsomething crazy. And I'm talking about trouble
wi you know. Spender spender spending, yeah, spending watch Yeah, that
would be crazy right now, I'llbe I mean, if if um y'all
(30:07):
want to help support the uh thehobby of course, you know right right,
