No one else can me by God you want I
have can Welcome back to the Network podcast and today

(01:32):
I got a podcast interview and we're about to go
all the way in with doctor and Nette. I like
when I got new coming up here to speak on
the show because I like to expand, I like to
speak with people. I love to speak, and I love
when people come up here to speak. Today, Doctor and

(01:53):
Net's coming in and it's gonna be a very very
very good interview because every time somebody comes up here,
every time we have a good interview, it's always interesting. Right. So,
Doctor Nett, she actually just came by the studio and
I want her to introduce herself to the audience. So
thank you for being here, doctor Nette, and good morning.
Can you introduce yourself to the audience.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Hey, good morning, Sack, Good morning audience. Hey is doctor
Nett from South Kark, Middle South Carolina. And I am
excited to be here. I am a voice that loves
to share and I am here this morning to get
it on.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
What that.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Let's go, doctor Innett, I appreciate it. First question that
I have for you, doctor Nett, is what inspired your
deep love for books and how has that shape your
spiritual and professional journey.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
I kind of was thrust into this back in eighty four.
My husband was stationed in Iceland. So I was a
nice and we were connected to a church and I
was kind of new and they were like, hey, we
need some teaching for the little kids. And I was like, okay, sure,
you know, you just say sure because you're there. And

(03:13):
he said, well, we got some resources, and back then
it was a typewriter, some paper and some books on
the shelf. So that's where I started my writing, was
writing Bible stories to teach to the little.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Wow. We loved that. And so you started O g way.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
So my next question for you, and that is you
speak a lot about faith and based you know, faith
based leadership and what's going on around you. How does
that define what you have going on and make it
different from traditional leadership styles.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Well, I like to align my I like to align
myself with what scripture said, and I like to use
two models in the Bible that are typically using. It's
the Moses model of leadership, where his the jet ro,
probably my jestro gave him insight on how to lead
the people. And then we have the model of Jesus.
So I like to replicate the model of Jesus, even

(04:17):
though I go back and look at the model of Moses,
and I believe that we can. We are Prejestine for greatness.
I really do believe that, and I believe that there's
some leadership potential in all of us. It may not
look the same and flow the same, but there is
that potential because we all have a voice and we
all get to share and we can empower other people.

(04:39):
So I do it from a Biblical perspective. And even
though I teach in academia graduate programs, management, NBA and
human resource courses. I teach those courses, but I still
have the biblical principle in what I am doing, even
if I'm not quoting it. You know, students say, well,

(05:01):
I can tell that you know you're there, so I
can tell that you're saved, and I could tell, like
just the way that you put your words out, so
we can put it out.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
We don't have to quote.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
The Bible to say what needs to be said. We
just need to live it out.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Come on, doc. Now, my next question for you is,
was there particular moment in your life where faith became
the foundation for your leadership calling Let's get into that.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Okay, I will say yet. So I had my Damastics
moment on an airplane.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Way up in the air.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
I was returning from the United States. We were living
in Germany. I was returning back from the United States.
My family was still in the US. I was traveling
back alone, so I felt like I was the only
person on this airplane, and I just heard purpose. You
are not working, walking, you're not learning, and you're not
walking in your purpose. So when I went back, I
changed the churches that I was with, and I connected

(05:59):
with another military pastor and off the installation and got
under their leadership and teaching.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
And because we need we need a role model. We
cannot do it on our own.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Yeah we're walking with Yeah, we need a role model,
that's true.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
But we still need somebody, somebody to connect to.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
That no more than we know if we don't know
nothing when we start out.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
So we've got to be connected to people that do.
And so I was connected to a couple that were
pastoring the church together and they were dynamic leaders and
they taught leadership, godly leadership. So I do a lot
of godly leadership teaching and everything that I do. And
I've even been blessed to help start a mission school

(06:50):
in Kaca, Mega, Kenya, and every time I.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Love every time I go there.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
We are teaching not just the leaders at the schools,
but we are also teaching leaders in the community can
come along as well to learn what the Bible says
and how we can apply it to what we're doing.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Yet, I love that. Thank you and that for those questions,
because you heat ended up on the network today. Now
many people struggle to balance ambition and faith. How do
you personally merge success, purpose, spirituality all in your work.
Let's get into that.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
First of all, I don't want to separate any of
it because we talk about mind, body, spirit. I talk
a lot about holistic wellness and that you know, God
wants us to be aligned, and that means everything needs
to be connected. So I don't want to separate anything,
and I do everything with a faith perspective in mind.

(07:50):
And I'm intentional. That's my word that you're probably here
when I come again. Intentional That means I am committed
to put forth a necessary effort to get the outcomes
that I say I want from the vision that has
been established. So the word is intentional about what we
are doing, how we are doing, how we are engaging,

(08:13):
how we are living. Everything close to me through the
word of being intentional and my faith walk.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
We I love that doctor and that now you're writing,
because I know you do a lot of books, and
I'm very intrigued. You even inspire me with this book writing.
Your writing carries powerful messages. What do you hope readers
take away from your books? And what's one of the
you know, one of your favorite ones. Let's get into it.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
Well, I have many, but I'll go with My newest
book was just released on Friday. We're hopes took roots.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
Release just on Friday. You just released that doctor and THATTT.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
Yes, I just released this and ebook and a soft copy.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
It's my first novel let.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
I typically write strictly faith based life living application books.
This one is you will have to pull your life
applications from it based on the story. So this is
a story about navigating loss, something that everybody has had
in their life. Nobody is immune to it. Whether you

(09:26):
are saved or unsaved, the same thing happened to all
of us. It's how do we maneuver through it? How
do we how do we process? I was thinking about
a song back in the day that said, you don't
have to move my mountain, but give me the strength
to climb. You don't have to move my stumbling blocks.

(09:52):
So as we are walking this faith journey, we have
to know that there's gonna be some hard time. There's
gonna be some situations and circumstances that are going to
rise in our lives that we're gonna be perplexed at
the moment. But if we have faith and give them
a ray of hope. Got start with some hope, okay,

(10:15):
But if we have that faith and hope, the journey,
even though it may be tough, we can still make
it through, and that's what.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
This book, Where Hope Took Root is about.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
We don't have some things to go through, but God
is always planting something new in us. He's always birthing
something new in us, and we have to believe that.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
We got am telling you doctor and Nett came to
the network first time and I'm enjoying this conversation. Now, finally,
what's next for you, doctor, Net? Any upcoming books, projects, movements,
what should our audience look forward to dealing with? Doctor?

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Let's talk sure.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
The book that I just released, Where Hope Took Roots,
that's the beginning of a trilogy, and it's a story.
Just going to give you a real quick nugget, but
it's a story about Naomi.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
And Christopher's journey married couple.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
The second book is going to explore life with their
unexpected bundle, and it's going to symbolize the divine fullness
of the Trinity and how God multiplies blessings and unexpected ways.
And the third book is going to bring their story
full circle, showing how matures when it's shared with others.

(11:38):
So my goal is to release the second book in
February and the third book in June. So four months
from now should be the second book. But beyond books,
you know, my goal is to continue to build spaces
where the theme can come alive. And I do that
through my Yearly to the Is a Valor Retreat. I

(12:01):
do that through my Monday Night book discussions. I do
that through my The Word on Sunday. I do that
through my Talking All Things books on Thursday.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
You know, I do that through my Monday Night Publishing
Pusher podcasts. And so I'm going to be continuing to
do these things.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
And just so you know, a lot of the resources
that are brought in from my projects support our Kenyon
Mission School, where we're just blessed that now we have
almost four hundred and fifty students staff supporting everything. And
God is opening doors. I'm telling you, God is opening
doors when we are faithful, When we are faithful about

(12:45):
the little things, God is definitely going to give us
an increase into greater things. And so my comen, my
mission is to help others plant open their own lives.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
That's my mission. To help people to see.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
The business or that get working on it.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
That's it right there.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
Oh, come on in. That's the vision. That's the vision.
So looking at Is there any final words on anything
you want to leave us with, any next message for
the generation. I know we only got like a minute
and you know, forty seconds left on the show. I
know you got to go, but talk to me. Is
there anything you want to leave for the for the
masters or for the next generation before we leave?

Speaker 2 (13:30):
You know, I want to encourage everybody.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
And I have this big, beautiful red sign on my
wall that has white letters, large letters that says faith.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
That's all. That's all. The picture says. It's faith.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
If you have faith the size of a must to
seed and that's pretty minute.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
People.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
You can speak to it, you can bring life to it.
It'll be through this relationship that you will build with
the Lord. So I want to say to you, I
want to encourage you. I want to encourage you that
no matter what is what it felt like that you're
going through, I want you to begin to believe again,
to build, to rebuild again. And I want you to

(14:10):
say to yourself that no matter what Steven I'm in,
I know that God can still bring something beautiful out
of it. That right there, that within you is greater.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
That that's what I.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Got home on doctor, and that that came up to
the show and gave us what we needed to head
show me back on real soon coming on the networking
sharing with us. We're right of here. Thank you Doctor
and Nette.
