I am pretty sure that your entire life is dictated by the relationships you cultivate in it. Sometimes you have no control over who is in your life because of life, work and family BUT you can certainly control who is in your circle of influence. I am convinced that all of life's joy comes from truly caring about the people in your life, across the table from you and on your podcast. True story.

(00:11):
What up now is me Molly, and this is the next one hundred and
man, it's really hard to notbe super awkward in the beginning of these
podcasts, I just bearing with me. Feel free to make fun of me,
totally cool with that. Now.I've been spend a lot of time
thinking about like content and how toprovide value. And I feel like that's

(00:35):
kind of an overused statement, butit's important, right, and you know,
being really important or really intentional aboutnot acting as if I know at
all, right, or sounding likeI think I know at all, which
I recognize that sometimes I do dothat, and so working on that,
but really it would be inauthentic ifI didn't talk about the things that I

(01:00):
actually did myself and worked in mybusiness and the things that I like believe
in, subscribe in practiced and seeingresults with. And so it's really about
this journey that I'm on and youguys being on it with me, and
sharing stuff that's worked and then goingthrough some stuff that I'm gonna see if
it's gonna work and we're gonna figureit out together. And I've spending a
lot of time thinking about just lifelately, right, because things something's been

(01:23):
really hard, and something's been reallygood and great. And my best round
was was here for you know, two weeks and celebrated my birthday, which
was really nice. He left today, so I'm kind of bummed about
that, but you know, he'llbe back. But it just reminded me,
you know, this whole weekend.Right, it was my birthday and

(01:44):
I had this party. I hada party at my house. And I've
been living in this house for sixmonths. Right. I moved to Costa
Rica a year and a half ago, maybe like give or take a couple
of months, and I lived atthe beach and I made some really great
friends, and I lived at thisapartment building there. It's kind of like
mel Rose plays like Costa Rica, but very wide, wide range of ages

(02:05):
and people. But it was stilljust kind of that vibe and it was
cool when I made some really greatfriends there. I still I'm in contact
with in the neighbors in the buildingand just friends at the beach. And
then I moved here to this housethat you're staying in the background. Its
beautiful hills behind me, right,And I moved here six months ago,
like almost to the day actually, and I lived in this community, and

(02:27):
I've made really amazing friends. Andso I had a party on Saturday,
and like legit, forty five peopleshowed up. And I just don't think
I've ever had that many people happyto celebrate my birthday or celebrate member birthday
with at all. And I meanI've threw in parties. I threw parties
for a living, but I neverdon't. I don't think I ever threw
a birthday party, although I probablyforgot if I did. But it's just

(02:53):
it's just reminded me like how importantrelationships are, right, Like relationships are
everything, Like that call from agirlfriend that can just make you feel whole
again, you know, the spendingtime with your your friends and people who
who feel like family to you.And when you're on a pinch and you
need to barrow money, people thatare successful that'll step up and loan you

(03:14):
money because they believe in you, right, because they give a shit about
you and they believe in you andthey see your value. Right, Like
relationships, it's always a romantic relationship, I mean the relationship with the people
who work with you and for youand all of that. Right, everything
always boils down relationships, And god, I'm so grateful for the ones in
my life. I mean, fortyfive people, man, forty three I

(03:35):
don't know, I'm an exaggerator, you all know that. But still it
was a whole lot of people andI just can't even believe. And I'm
so grateful for those relationships here inCoast because so far from a place that
I called home for twenty years. And I was sitting here thinking about,
like Brandon podcasts, I'm gonna dothis series about how a podcasts can make
your business money. But you know, I was like, well, where
does this all begin? And youknow, at the end of the day,
like Brandon, podcast is about buildingrelationships, right like I you know,

(03:59):
I slash, I'm not actually kiddingabout like we all work for like
robots and it's all about SEO andcontent as SEO. But really, like
branded podcast is not just SEO,Like it really starts with the relationship you
know, and and it and anything. It starts with the relationship in life.
It's about the relationships you have inbusiness. It's about the relationships you
have, you know, when youstart a new business, you know,

(04:21):
just like if you start a newpodcast, it's all about your rolodex.
Man yeah, I'm all to shit. I say things like Rolodex is all
about your contact list, whatever youknow, your dms, right, who
whose damns can you slide into?Who can you call? It's always going
to be about the relationship. Youknow, who is going to be the
you know who The first people aregoing to be to support you are the

(04:41):
people that you call in your networkand you say, I need you to
support me with my new business.Right, It's always going to be about
relationships, always, always, always, and at the core that's what a
branded podcast is. That is exactlythe magic of a branded podcast. It's
about creating intentional relationships. And whenyou sit in front of like you know,
I say this all the time, where the guest is more important than

(05:03):
the audience. And that's a littlecounterintuitive for a lot of people because everybody
wants to be on new and noteworthyand everybody wants to go get a bunch
of people to rate your podcast oryou show up. But at the end
of the day, your podcast dependingon your business. And I'm not saying
all podcasts if you want to talkabout murder mysteries and this isn't relevant to
you, But if you're creating abrand podcast as a business development tool.

(05:26):
Then it is all about the relationshipswith the people who you do the podcast
with, right. But the relationshipisn't just I'm having you on my podcast,
so now we have a relationship.Right, That's not how relationships work.
Man. We live in the ageof consent. You've got to take
people out to dinner. Right,So the podcast equivalent of that is interviewing
them and introducing them to your podcast. I used to do really good with

(05:48):
that with my first podcast, andthen I got Then I kind of slack
and and I didn't develop the relationshipsthat I did like in the early days
of my podcast, because I wasputting in the same amount of energy and
intention, you know, like whenyou listen to it, and I've done
this when you listen to podcast,And I said, well, tell us
your origin story. Man, No, that's my job. I should say.

(06:09):
This is Molly's origin story, andthis is where she was born,
this is what she did, andthis is the impact she's had on her
community. And how much you havea badass of she because she did this,
this and this and this and this. Hey, thanks for joining us
today, Molly, Welcome. Andthen the guest is gonna go Holy shit,
man, that was amazing. Thankyou so much. That's how you
build relationships, you know. Howyou build the next phase of the relationship

(06:30):
is by making great content, youknow, making an episode graphic that with
a nice picture of them on acool background. It looks really nice,
like wow, who does want toput a picture of themself up on her
own LinkedIn that they didn't make?Right? It gives them credibility. Make
a quote graphic you know, theycan put on their LinkedIn again. More
importantly, reach out to them.Hey dude, hey Molly, your podcast

(06:50):
is coming out in three weeks. Here's a couple graphics that we made.
You know, this is where thevideo is gonna be. We're gonna have
a bag on our website about it. I'll tag you on LinkedIn let me
know, you know, and thenwhen the podcast comes out, you do
you tag them on all those things, and then you follow up with them.
Hey, Mali, thanks for comingon my podcast. Listen. I
was really hoping you would speak inmy next event, or I was wondering,

(07:14):
you know, I noticed that youreally maybe could use a branded podcast
in your life, or maybe youcould use the services that I offer and
I was wondering if maybe I couldget fifteen minutes of your time to talk
to you about that, maybe youwould find my services valuable or maybe you
would consider And you know, it'ssending my information to somebody else. But
nine times out of ten, ifyou really do a great job with that
podcast, you're not even gonna haveto ask that. But you still need

(07:35):
to create the runway. You stillneed to follow up with them, just
like anything, right. I mean, I've sent out a bunch of proposals,
I got them on board right now, and I've been I'm in a
masterminding. My accountability this week wasto nudge all those people, and I
haven't done it. So I needto. I need to drink my own,
my own tea. I don't thinkthat's I need to take my own
medicine, as they say. Butyou know, you want to create the

(07:57):
relationship. You want to create, you know, create the runway because just
like everything else, and my dogis out here tearing up my shoes and
being a general little man, butit's all about that relationship and creating that
runway. And what I've really foundis that you know, in my business
and in my world, I reallylike my clients, like I legit like

(08:18):
them. And I have a clientswho are like I don't even know if
they're friends or clients anymore, becausethey're like legitimately a little bit of both
or like equally both, And Ilove that and I value those relationships.
You know. It's just like Ivalue the people who came to my birthday
on Saturday to celebrate me. Right, we made all this amazing food and
my neighbors got together, and Iwas just so grateful for those relationships.

(08:43):
And you just never know where thoseare gonna go. And I think we've
just all gotten consumed this idea oflike, get in front of people,
create content, constantly, break thealgorithm, oh man, nurture of the
relationships, create intentional relationships. Youknow, value the ones that you have,
right, because we're always looking formore and more and more and more

(09:03):
and more. But what about theones that you already have, you know,
what about reaching out to them, checking in on them, maybe nurture
of the relationships a little bit moreso, you know, really this is
a combination of really just dialing ona branded podcast as a as a business
development tool, and really it's aboutnurturing relationships. And so the other part

(09:28):
of this podcast is just a reallyjust a whole ton of gratitude because I
never thought my life that, youknow, moving to another country and six
months later, I'd have so manypeople that care about me and celebrate my
existence and we're here to do thatwith me. And so, man,
relationships are important, and it's notalways about getting a sale. It's not
about that at all. It's aboutbeing a human and existing with other humans

(09:52):
and showing up and creating relationships becauseyou know, I don't know about you,
but in my business, I don'tneed one hundred new clients, you
know, and one relationship like misterMichael Aiken and Link Strategic Partners. I
had him on my podcast like threeyears ago, and now that is like
a friend of mine. You know. He will text me and say I

(10:13):
love you, happy birthday, Ihope everything is good. He really means
that, or just I will loveyou. It'll just rambles him. You
know, this is a man who'smarried and as a kid, and he's
like the most honorable person in theentire world. He's just such a good
person. And he started out aslike somebody who I just really looked up
to because I dig his work, had him on my podcast, and now
we have this great relationship because Itook time to get to know him because

(10:35):
I was genuinely curious, And nowhe throws me all kinds of business and
even if he's not he just checksin on me. And I'm so grateful
for that relationship because I legit thinkhe's probably the nicest person in the entire
world. Like the work he doeswith Link Strategic Partners and like Ink five
thousand fastest growing company, and likehe does he's like a mission based company
that's a for profit business. Imean, I could go on and all.

(10:58):
He works with seniors and foster kids. Like the dude is legit like
the best person in the whole world, you know. And I'm so grateful
to call him a friend of mineand a client. And even if he
never sent me another ounds of business, I would still be super grateful to
know him. And so I think, beyond business and beyond numbers and beyond
closing the deal, curate intentional relationshipsin your life from your podcast, so

(11:18):
your friendships, so you're toe, yeah, everything right, you know.
So that's the lesson I'm getting,right, I don't want to say you
should do this. I'm gonna sayI'm gonna do this, you know,
because it's a good reminder for meabout how important those things are and how
grateful I am for them. Sothat's enough for today. No book report,
because again I think we got enoughinformation here and I'm gonna circle back

(11:41):
with some more laws of leadership, you know, tid bits as I find
them, and maybe this is oneof them. So thank you for spending
some time with me today. I'vebeen getting some new downloads. Shout out
to the Just Busters and all thewomen editor podcasts or women podcasts editors out

(12:05):
appreciate you, honestly and truly, and I'm not even tripping. I definitely
looked in my spreaker and my downloadswent up because you also like shout out
to Jessbusters and all the amazing peoplein there, Beckau Rock for Share for
Shure. So thank you, andyeah, man, I hope you guys
all have a fantastic week. Youknow, I'm looking forward to building some

(12:26):
new relationships with you, right becauseI know this, I know some of
my people out here listening, solet me know. Man. That's it.
