The Paranormal Project Radio show. Carreyour hosts Scott Allen and Christina Bowen.
(00:43):
Hello everyone, and welcome back tothe Paranormal Project Radio Show. I am
your host Scott Allen and my lovelyco host Christina Bowen. How are you,
my friend? Great? Are you? I'm good? I'm good.
So, just just to be fair, this performance or this performance, this
show is yeah, we're not singingand dancing here. This show is recorded,
(01:06):
and we wanted to have a coupleof them in the can because we
are doing some traveling. We're goingto be in San Antonio, We're going
to be in New Orleans, We'regoing to be in a bunch of different
places. So I want to havea few shows that we could put out
there that were fresh and new whilewe're actually on the road and not able
to be here in person. Andthis is one of those shows. So
comments are disabled for tonight, butthank you for watching. You were gonna
(01:26):
love this, you know, Christina, we've all seen that person. We've
all had that experience where someone willpost a photo on Facebook or some forum
and we look at it and wesay to ourselves, I don't see it,
and all these people are commenting there'sfaces in the trees, there's faces
(01:49):
in the windows there, or orbs, orbs everywhere. So tonight we are
going to be talking with Greg andand he is one of the things he
does, he talks about these thingsthat not everything is paranormal, and it's
(02:10):
not. It's not paranormal. Andhe brought some evidence out, So we're
gonna get a chance to look atthat together with him, and actually on
my own in there too, Iwanted to take a look at but we're
going to talk about this, soI'm going to bring him out. Greg.
Nice to see you, Welcome backto the show. How are you
good? Hi, how you guysdoing great? Great? Thanks for joining
(02:31):
us. Oh sure, my pleasure. Yeah. And actually, you know
it's sunny here. Are you gettingokay? Whether where you are? Greg?
Right now? I know it's snowing. It's it's it's fifteen degrees here
now, so we have a heatwave. So but we live like on
the west side of I'm in northeastOhio. We live on the west side
(02:52):
of the Cleveland area where we don'tget as much snow as the east side
does. So I mean we've justgot a little sprinkling, So it's not
bad. We stay in. Youknow, if you live in the if
you live in the South, whenit's hot, you stay in. I
want it's here one it's cold, you stay in. So exactly. Yeah,
(03:14):
I hybernight, hibernate here from youknow, December through May, because
it's just cool, you know. But actually it is bad here today.
The sun is shining, is probablyhigh thirty is almost forty, which is
a lot better than a lot ofthe country. I heard Wyoming was negative
forty this morning. Yeah, wow, oh my crazy. We've got like
two degrees coming tonight. And Iwas getting worried about that. But no,
(03:38):
negative forty never crazy, It's rough. So, Greg, you've been
doing this for a while, thewhole paranormal thing evidence, and you're very
involved with the Ohio State Reformatory andthe parapsychon and and so you've been around
a few haunted locations and I knowyou've seen it. You've seen it too,
and not everything is paranormal, right, tell us what's your thought on
(04:01):
orbs. Let's go straight into it. Yeah, yeah, let's just go
straight into it and into it.Orbs are not paranormal unless you actually see
it with your eyes. I mean, if you see a bright ball coming
down the stairway or floating across theroom, then maybe it's paranormal. But
(04:26):
all this stuff that people capturing photographsand videos, no, it's no,
it's not paranormal at all. Infact, I do a talk presentation of
paradilia shadows and orbs where it's like, you know, not everything's paranormal,
and we talked about why it's notparanormal, and I've got examples and that
(04:49):
I show people, and so it'syou know, Elia is you know we
see faces and everything. We justdo that. You know, it's like
the hidden mickeys, three dots exactly, the clouds and everywhere, right,
yeah, yeah, that's oh yeah, that's prevalent in uh online, it's
(05:10):
real prevalent. And I use alot of examples too in my talks.
Some that are just like fun,you know, you get something that looks
like a face. But then I'vegot some where people are like, this
is paranormal. Look at that face, And I'm like, why would there
be a face on your toilet bowl? You know, it's like, you
(05:31):
know what makes that parents? It'slike, yeah, sometimes you just are
just shake shake your head, youknow. And I'm not I mean,
I'm not a skeptic of the paranormal, because we all know that it is
out there and it does exist.I'm skeptic of all the experiences and evidence
(05:56):
believe they have or get yes right, because it's it's too well, you
know. I think part of theproblem is the TV shows have done this.
You know, some of them areso fantastical that you know, every
year corner posessed and scratched, youknow, so they go out and they
see this stuff and they think,oh my god, you know, this
(06:17):
is crazy and it's just not andand you know, talk about orbs.
I mean, people have you knowwhat I should have brought. Christina and
I last year were in what's thatplace? We went Randolph County Asylum.
Yes, yes, and uh wewent into the basement and there was this
can of I don't know if itwas paint thinner or do you remember this.
(06:42):
It was like furniture polish orbs somethingsomething like that, orbes. And
I took pictures and I went look, I founded orb all over the all
over the place. And I shouldhave had it tonight. I was going
to have your debunk it and nowit would have been awesome, But yeah,
it's with photos. Have you hadanybody to submit obviously faked photos to
(07:08):
you? Oh yeah, yeah,And that's why I'm very skeptical now when
people bring me photos, you know, if they send them to me through
email or at the Ohio State Reformatory, I'm very skeptical, especially especially with
cell phones. Yes I am.I mean it's almost like I will tell
(07:32):
people, do not show me photosfrom your cell phone. Why because they
can doctor it too easily. That'sone of the reasons. And they're they're
great for taking photos of vacations andgraduations and stuff like that, but trying
to take photos in a dark locationwhen you're using the flash, it's not
(07:53):
the greatest piece of photographic equipment touse, right right, right, yeah,
yeah. In fact, I don'tsplash much, but you can adjust
the you can adjust the the exposureon it. So a lot of times,
you know, if you put iton a tripod or something, you
can take a photo and as longas it's not moving and there's a little
(08:13):
bit of light in the room somewhere, it'll take a decent photo, right,
But it's don't come to me witha cell phone photo. It's because
it's just too odd. They're justtoo easy to manipulate too. And they
have apps now that are for entertainmentthat will overlap and you can adjust transparency,
(08:35):
or you'll put a most a CivilWar soldier or exactly Victorian woman in
your image, move it around andadjust the transparency. I've had people submit
photos like that for me too,and I'm like, seriously, and I
just sent them a screenshot of theapp and then they go away. Yeah,
(08:56):
I mean, and then it's we'vealways countered that. Ever since the
spiritual movement started, there's always beentricksters and fraud and fakes. I mean,
ever since the Fox Sisters in theeighteen forty eight. It's they they
were actually hoaxing everything and spirit photography, you know, that was the say,
(09:18):
the same thing. They were justoverlapping all the different It was a
photography technique, is all it was. Yeah, yeah, yeah, And
it's a lot a lot of peoplebelieved that. A lot of people believed
it back then, just like alot of people believe it now because of
all the TV shows. It's true, it's not as prevalent as these shows
(09:39):
would make you believe. I mean, it's there. It's there. We
all get stuff, we get recordings, we get you know, things,
we catch, things we experience thatyou can't prove because it was just a
personal experience. But it's not it'snot like you see right on TV.
Just not. In fact, wewere at that, you know, talking
(10:01):
about Randolph County Asylum. I mean, there was stuff there, but we
debunked a lot of it. Youknow, there were noises and things that
were creepy, and we figured itout. This is not now. I've
been at that location several times andI've had experiences, but a great deal
can be debunked, and it's justbeing a good investigator. Seriously rule out
(10:26):
all other possibilities. First exactly didyou agree? Oh yeah, And you
know I'm the leading paranlelmal investigator atthe Hello State Reformatory, so I basically
run all the private hunts. Actually, my wife Kathy, you know,
she does all the private hunts, but I'm the one who actually works them.
And I have a lot lot ofguests that will bring video to me
(10:50):
or photos or whatever. And I'mlike, did you try to debunk it?
Well, no, it's look alook it. Oh my let's go
and you know, there's numerous timeswe were able to figure it out.
Or I tell somebody to go backout and see if that you know,
this is what you need to doto check it, and it's like they
don't come back and say, no, we didn't work, you know.
So I'm like, okay, thebook, yes, And or they have
(11:16):
one photo and you don't know whereit was a minute, you know,
a second before and the second afterwards. They just take one photo and look
what I right, and I seeI can't bite my tongue, you know,
especially there, I'm just like, all right, so let me tell
you what's going on here. Anduh, you know, some of them
(11:37):
get bummed out. Some of themare like, oh okay, and some
of them are like I don't carewhat you say. You're not going to
convince them. No, no,you're not ok ahead, I was gonna
say. And you're at the OhioState Reformatory. The place has yeah,
you know, there are things thathappened. There's oh yeah, it's just
(12:01):
not everything right right. And Ialways well when I do my and I'm
not a big paranormal equipment fan.I like my senses and or I like
to have a video camera or anaudio recorder just in case something does happen
where you can capture it, becauseI like, you know, site,
(12:22):
sound, touch, smell, stufflike that. And that's why I tell
people too, it's like, youknow, don't rely on your equipment,
rely on on your senses and haveis cross validation, right, it's not
the end all be all right, right, So people rely too much on
the equipment too. It's like, give rid of it, walk around the
(12:48):
prison, feel it, sit, listen. Don't try so hard either,
you know, because it'll come toyou. I think people try so hard
to experience the pair of normal thatany little thing they hear or see it's
automatically paranormal. In the announce inthe walls exactly it could be. And
(13:09):
that greed factor, you know,if they're if they're not used to this
and they're creeked out. You know, you hear in the wall, like
you say, a mouse or something, you're going to think, oh my
god, there's something here, right, yeah, you know, so you
go, you do. You givetalks on this, right, you give
talks on on this sort of thing, which is how I knew you did
it, by the way I sawyour saw your post which I thought on
(13:31):
the show and talk about this.Oh, thank you, Yeah, I
do. I do several different talks. I do want just based off my
two books that I've written. Oh, and I do one about the House
State Reformatory. I do one abouthot the locations that we've been to,
(13:52):
and I also do the paradolia shadowsand orbs and why not everything is paranormal.
And we're going to get to lookat some stuff that you gave us.
You gave us some photos that we'regoing to you know, at some
point during the show, we're goingto put those up on the screen and
we'll look at them and see.You know, I don't know. I
mean, I really didn't look atthem that closely, so I don't know
(14:13):
if we're talking that they're all fakeor they're real or I don't know because
I haven't really paid much attention toit. And then I threw a couple
of myself. Okay, yeah, and when when you put them up there,
I'll talk about about them, andyou know, see why I tell
you why I couldn't debunk them.Well, you couldn't debunk them. Let's
take a Yeah, let's see whichone you put up first. Let's see,
(14:35):
so we've got this. Okay,Yeah, that was h This was
a private resonance that we did inBrexville, Ohio. Now, that area
they had a lot of stuff goingon there that if you see that that
door, that door would the doorknobwould rattle and shake on its own.
(14:56):
They would see they would actually seeshadow figures in that hallway there. And
one evening, the homeowner calls meand he's all frantic and he's like,
we saw the shadow figure again inthat hallway and our dog actually started attacking
it, just snapping at the air. So they were freaked out. So
(15:18):
this was at the beginning of ourinvestigation where we're taking readings and photographs.
We always photographed the hold location,so we have base photographs and a couple
of our team members that they werein there and they took this photo and
they noticed that dark shadow blob thinglike up toward the ceiling. And now
I'm looking at it, don't youknow, I don't know that that's something
(15:41):
else or not. You know, you know, that's just where the sign
is from the window. But thereshould be a second photo that goes along
with that, and you can nowthat shadow is moving down yep. So
they didn't see the shadow at thetime. This was you know, the
(16:03):
nice thing about digital cameras, youget to see everything right then. And
then they took a third photo andit was gone. They spent the whole
night trying to debunk these photos. And that's about our team too. It's
like, you know, that's notparanormal. I'm not saying as paranormal.
We just couldn't debunk it in ourresponse to what they were experiencing the dark
(16:27):
shadows in that area, right,So you know, I would never say
anything as paranormal because I don't know, you know, all I can you
just can rule out and say what'snot paranormal, right exactly. I mean
tried to debunk it all night. They were so taken by these photographs that
(16:48):
they're like, we got to figurethis out because that's not not right,
and especially since it's moving so andyou know, just like you take photos
right after you know, well oneanother in case you get it's something exactly,
I always say take three yep.Yeah, So and they they did
that. They took more, andthey took them all night, and they
(17:10):
could not get this shadow back inthat area. So now do you did.
I send you the third photo tolet me see. Yeah, and
it's coming completely gone. Yeah,so you know, they're good. It
corresponds to what our client was experiencingin the general same area. So it's
(17:30):
just one of those things where wetry to debunk it we couldn't. Yeah,
and it's a good yeah, veryinteresting. But I like that you
have the three photos and I thinkthat's how you know photo and say,
look at the shadow, Well, that could be anything, you know,
right, And and all of ourphotographs are not taken by cell phones.
These are taken by you know, inexpensive expensive digital cameras. You know,
(17:56):
it just depends on what each investigatorGator has. But when we do private
residents always tell our investigators do notuse cell phones. So and this was
there's still a light out too,so it's not like there's still this was
still daylight. Yeah yeah, yeah, it was wondering then, right,
(18:17):
So many people just don't seem tounderstand that places are just as haunted during
the day as they are at night, right right, Oh, definitely,
yeah, it's true. Okay, let's see what's the next one. Okay,
we have this, So now thisone, this was an outdoor location.
This is a location near Akron,Ohio called Signal Tree. Okay,
(18:40):
And I don't realize like outdoor locationsbecause you know, you've there's so many
things that could interfere, especially withphotographs, bugs and stuff light like that.
But I think this night, whattook like over one hundred photographs in
this area and there was only Ibelieve five of them that had weird things
(19:03):
in them, and it was alwayswith the tree in the background. So
now if you look to the rightof the photo, you can see part
of the tree. Now this areais Native American land, so this tree
is an oak tree. And Idon't know if they sent you a picture
of what the tree looks like, but it's an oak tree. It doesn't
(19:26):
have one trunk, it has threetrunks. It looks like a tried it.
And they believe that these trees weremanipulated when they were samplings by the
Native Americans as sort of a roadmarker. So if they're you know,
canoeing down this one river, ifthey see the Signal Tree, they knew
(19:47):
that's where they get out borders oftheir canoes to the next river. So
anyways, this is you know,I don't know what this is. None
of us smoke, and if anybodydid smoke, you wouldn't be allowed to
smoke during an investigation. So that'sjust one of these weird photos. It
(20:08):
was probably about sixty degrees okay,so it couldn't have been I thought about
that too, but it would beall the time, almost every four It's
like, okay, if every photohad that, yeah, you know,
I can assume that, then it'sprobably breath Now if you go to the
(20:32):
next one. Now, this one, this one intrigues me. This was
when Kathy and I used to belongto another team and they used to do
sciences. So you can see that'sKathy in the blue. I was actually
doing videotaping at the time, andmy daughter was actually taking photos of the
(20:56):
science and to the left of thephoto that's where the tree is. So
if you see this white blob thingnow. At the time, Kathy,
uh, she she's sensitive and shegot the vision of this Native American,
(21:18):
which she described a warrior. Shecould see him clearly, and she was
like, you know, if you'rehaunting this location, if you're here,
can you shove one of us?And immediately I went flying. But it
was about this time too, thatthis photo was captured. Now, I
(21:38):
mean this, if this was breath, this is just too well defined.
Also a profile of a face. You know, if you could, you
know, see up in the upperleft hand corner, it's almost like an
eye and then it comes down toa nose and then you can almost see
you know, laughlines. I'm notsaying it is it's you know, and
(22:03):
I've taken pictures where you're blowing yourbreath and everything, and that there's no
way that this is a breath Andyeah, it just can't explain it.
And especially with everything Kathy was experiencedand what I experienced at the time with
me be unshoved. So this isthere. Again, I'm not saying it's
paranormal. It's just it corresponds towhat Katy was inconcurrent with other things happening
(22:30):
at the same time. Once again, that would go back to a cross
validation type thing, right, Soyou know, I don't know what it
is. It looks like the profileof a face, possibly a Native American
warrior. But yeah, it wasjust it was a crazy night. I
didn't want to go on this investigation, but you know, I'm glad I
(22:52):
did. Wow, that's why.And you know, looking at the four
people, if it were a breath, you'd be seeing it around before.
Right, there's nothing, there's nothing, all right, And this is this
one is like almost solid, especiallythe upper part. Yeah, it's not
very transparent, I mean a littlemaybe down toward the bottom, but right
(23:15):
it looks pretty solid. Yeah.So there again they it's one thing I
can't explain. I love it.Yeah, that's good. You know.
I will say something too about justwhile we're talking about the outdoor photos.
So and I'm going to say thisthat I took this photo because I was
on vacation with my iPhone. Wewere in a place in Scotland that is
(23:37):
like they call it a cave. It's not really a cave, but there's
a stairway that you go down intothe woods and it's sort of open and
there's a creak through it and it'sa place where they say fairies live and
people will leave offering to the fairiesdown there. And I was just taking
photos around. Now, you knowwhat a cell phone, at least an
iPhone, I don't know that youcan take an upside down photo because as
(24:02):
soon as you turn the photo likethis, right, back up. So
I was taking photos around and whenI looked at them, there was one
that was completely upside down. AndI don't know why. I'm not saying
it was paranormal. I think itcould have been some issue with the iPhone.
All the photos were there and thenthere was one that was upside down,
(24:25):
and I thought that was unusual.I don't know what it was.
Yeah, it was, as amatter of fact, because I've got the
same picture well you know, justabout I mean maybe a little bit over
a little bit, but same one, completely completely right, and I was
going to put it on this andthe reason I didn't was because in order
(24:45):
to fit it, I would havehad to shrunk it down. It kept
wanting to go sideways, and itwas like, I don't mess around with
it. But it was just interestingthat it would do that. I still
don't know. I've never been ableto create another upside down photo with my
iPhone. Can't do it. I'venever had it happen. No, I've
never been able to do it.I've had androids and I've never had that
(25:07):
happen. No, it's got thatEEOS location or whatever you want to call
it. Not that I don't knowwhat it is, but it just kind
of constantly holds it upright, mmhmm, it's sort of it's sort of
fascinating. I have no idea.Let's see what else we have. Okay,
is that the same night? Yeah, that's the same same night.
(25:27):
Uh. And then the tree isto the right, just beyond where this
is at. Now this is oneof those ones where it could just be
paradolia. Yeah, but I seea face too. Yeah, and a
lot of people either see the faceof a bear or a wolf. I
(25:51):
could see. I'm leaning more towardslike bear me. But then again,
you know, I have visual issues, So yeah, that's wild. I
mean, it's just an unusual photo. But there again, why is that
there? Why is that that missed? There? You see any of this
with the naked eye or only onlyon camera? Okay? Yeah? Interesting
(26:17):
too is that you're not picking itup, you know, with your with
your if it were breath or ifit were you know, yeah, you'd
know it was there and really geta sense of how large it is either
you know, is this is itsmall and right up to the camera,
or is it large and further youknow, you just don't get a sense,
right, right, exactly exactly,Albert Einstein, take you anywhere,
(26:44):
must I don't see a bear orwolf? I see, like Einstein,
I don't know. You see thetwo dark things about the top, looks
like an eye between them is asnout, and then you can see like
two nostrils. See the next Yeah, I want to see it. Yeah
there again, more than likely isprobably just paradolia, but it is unusual
(27:07):
that that even showed up in thephotograph. Yeah. Problem is, once
you see it, it's hard toundsee it, right exactly. Yeah,
let's see what else? Okay, all right, this one, this was
one of the craziest private homes weever investigated. There was something about this
(27:30):
home I did not like. Iwanted to run out of the house screaming.
The atmosphere was just so thick there. I did not like it.
Now, this was at the beginningthere again, before our investigation. We
go around and I take photos ofthe whole location, and this is one
(27:52):
of the areas where they would seeshadows in shadow figures down in the basement.
So I took a photo and yousee that really really dark area on
the lower left. M hm,Yes, I'm like, what the hell
is that? That shouldn't be there. There's nothing there that that would cause
(28:14):
that. So then I spent likethe next half hour, you know,
trying to recreate it, and youknow, debunk it. I could not.
I think I sent sent you somephotos of me trying to debunk it.
So if you can go to andwe'll look how defined it is too.
(28:34):
I mean it's like a straight line, h just a lot on that
first. Do you have a senseof you know, because we see the
darkness, We see the darkness here, we start in the other photo and
you you have a feeling in thishouse that you didn't like. Do you
think the darkness is indicative of thetype of energy that might be there?
(28:59):
If it's paranormal? You think that'sjust how they present thomselves because we figured
out what was going on in thishouse. Okay, so in fact,
let's do the photos and then i'lltell you about So there it is.
That's the photo afterwards, So it'sgone. So what was it? Where
did it go? So then Itried to recreate it. Then I send
(29:23):
you the two other photos along withthis. So there's me that's with my
finger in front of the flash.Okay, where's your finger? In front
of the front, not in frontof the lens, in front of them,
right, Well, the next pictureis in front of the lens.
So I did this, and yeah, that's my den to debunk. So
(29:48):
the first one was the flash, this one was the lens. I spent,
like I said, at least ahalf hour trying to debunk it and
recreate it and I couldn't. Yeah, I love that you took pictures like
that to show what you were tryingto do. Right, See, this
is people to do. I'm skepticalof everything, even if something like I'm
(30:10):
like, you know, it's notBut anyways, we actually had this other
piece of evidence that for me,it's the most amazing piece of evidence I've
ever captured. It was up inthe little girls room. It was that
actually a video, and we've gota couple of investigators out there and they
(30:33):
hear something fall in the room, and you know, like, can you
do it again, blah blah blah, can you show yourself? And then
one of them gets like poked fromthe back and then they get up and
they're trying to figure out what fell. And as they're talking among themselves,
(30:53):
you can hear this what sounds likean elderly gentleman, just say how's it
going? Just like that. It'sreally loud and clear. It wasn't your
normal EVP. I mean, thisvoice was identifiable. Anyways, when we
did the reveal, we brought thisto our client and she's, like,
(31:15):
my grandfather used to always say that, you know, how's it going.
So we brought it to her motherand her uncle, and they both identified
the voice as their deceased father. After that we knew who was there,
and we just told him, Hey, they know you're here. You're scaring
the crap out of them. Pleasestop. This happened back in two thousand
(31:37):
and seven. They still live inthe house. They haven't had a problem
since, and they had a lotof activity prior to that. Kathy's still
front friends with them and cool andyeah, that day. They haven't had
a problem since. So that's whyI'm saying it was just my belief is
that Grandpa was watching over the familyabsolutely, and he was just trying to
(32:00):
make his presence known. So oncehe was able to do that, you
know, everything was fine. Youknow, speaking of ep things like that.
Do you remember, Christine, afew weeks back, we were we
were on a live show. Actuallywe didn't catch it. So when we
record these shows like today, evenif it's live, it's recorded, then
we send it off to Spotify andyou know these other places. It records
(32:22):
each track separately, so today thethree of us will each have our own
track. And I went through toclean it up and it was on Christina's
track. She was just getting readyto say something and his voice came on
and said, Hi, Scott, and I don't know what it is.
It wasn't you. Clearly it wasyou, and and it was on your
(32:43):
track only it wasn't on mine.I have no idea. I haven't you
posted it? Didn't you? Idid post it. It's on Facebook somewhere.
Yeah, that one was really prettycool. See it's it's like when
you lease expect it. It's like, you know, like most of the
EVPs, the good EVPs that Icaptured, especially at OSR, it's you're
(33:04):
not investigating because everybody goes in thereand said, hey, what's your name?
Did you die here? Blah blahblah. Just we tell people just
talk amongst yourselves. I mean likewhen this when this uh spirit goes what
everyone want to call it? Whenhe said, how's it going. They
weren't trying to communicate with them, they were trying to figure out what foul,
you know. So he's like, hey, I'm here, you know,
(33:25):
you know I'm here. So yeah, I've always told people that don't
try so hard, just you neverknow when they're going to chime in.
I always run the recorder, evenon the walk through, the initial walkthrough
before you set up equipment, andyou know where you're finding the hot spots
and hearing what's been happening. Andthen when you upon review, many times
(33:52):
you'll find things on that recording andyou got nothing through the rest of the
night. But they said hello andcame through right away. Yeah, so
yeah, I always I'm a bigfan of running that recorder all the time.
Yeah. Okay, So I tooktwo photos and I put him in
there. I'd love you to takea look at. The first one that
(34:14):
I'm going to show you is ona ship and it's the USS Salem in
Quincy, Massachusetts. And the shipis there's a lot of evidence. They
get shadow creatures, they get theyget footsteps, they hear voices, and
you know, there's a lot ofthey don't use spirit boxes and a lot
of that kind of thing on there. Mainly, No, there's no there's
(34:34):
nothing. You know, you're inthat steel shell, so there's nothing,
but they'll get rempod activity and it'svery very intelligent. This particular night,
we were sitting in the hospital andI was sitting here. In front of
me was a man sitting on oneof the bunks to the left, and
then a woman sitting in a chairahead of us. There was no way
to cross behind her because there wasa like a wall there behind her,
(34:58):
so if you went to the end, you had to turn around to come
back. And there was what usedto be a water bubbler up against the
wall. And this is what wecaught. I don't know if you can
see it. The woman is tothe right, the man is to the
left, and there is this whatlooks like, yeah, person walking from
right to left. They blocked thebubbler, so you can't see the water
(35:22):
cooler the water bubbler. Yeah, there's a light back there that's blocked out.
Yeah, yeah, so nobody inbetween them. There's nobody between them,
and she's just sitting there and he'ssitting there, and I, for
some reason I took a photo.I mean I didn't, you know.
And when I did, I caughtwhatever that is crossing behind and you can't
(35:46):
get there because there's a it's it'snot a solid wall, it's a plexiglass
maybe you know, four or fivefeet high wall, so you'd have to
climb over the thing. But he'sgoing to do that. You just walk
around, So be have a beforeand after photo, you know what I
actually do. I didn't throw iton here. I should have thrown it
(36:07):
out. There is before and afterphotos somewhat, you know what I mean.
But there was you can see youcan see what's there and what's not
there, right, Yeah, Imean that that looks like somebody's standing back
there. It's like somebody standing.Yeah. The next one I'm going to
show you is at the Conjuring House, and there's actually three photos because I
took them three in succession. Forsome reason, I can't find the middle
(36:29):
photo, and who knows why Icouldn't find it last night. But what
you're going to see is this room. This is in the library and at
one time this was the parents erRoger and his wife. It was their
bedroom. It was one of themost haunted rooms and they moved them out
and put them what is what wasthe summer kitchen because this room was too
(36:52):
much a library. So this corneris after you walk in. It's on
the right, and you can sortof slightly see there's a little darkness in
the corner. And I took threephotos in success in succession, there's this
one, then another one, andthen a third one, and I wish
(37:14):
I had the second one, butyou can see how this shadow is just
sort of developing in the second photo. It's only it's not as heavy,
and it's about halfway up the wall. Uh yeah, like that's weird.
And then and then it came upand then it was gone. After that,
it was like it was moving upand out. And yeah, it's
(37:37):
like that that that is so weird. I mean, that's obviously it's not
anybody's shadow because their shadow wouldn't startwith a on the wall there. Yeah,
that's really the angle of it isunusual. Yeah, yeah, before
and afternoon. What's that, Christine, You're standing in the same place.
(38:00):
Yeah, we're not going anywhere camerasa little bit other than that. No,
it's exactly the same place. Andand then you can see it and
then it was just gone. Itjust and it looks like that. There's
a dark shadow down to the leftof the chair too, Is that your
guys shadow? It is darker downthere, Yeah, it is. I
(38:25):
don't know if that's all part ofit or not. To be honest with
you, I'm sitting in a chairlike across from that, so I'm just
sitting. I don't think there wasanybody else. There was another woman sitting
like almost my right behind me,and she wasn't moving, So I don't
think it's anybody's shadow that was inthere because somebody would do, you know,
(38:47):
if she was taking a photo orbut it's not in the first photo,
so right, right, But yeah, there's a lot going on.
There's a lot going on there. That place is kind of strange. I
don't know, you know, again, what is it? But I showed
this to do you know who?Rob Sakowitz is Get Haunted. I don't
know if you know him, Gregor not. I don't know. He
(39:07):
runs the it's sort of the paranormalgroup Get Haunted, and they will rent
out places and you can go andinvest. And he and I had had
a chat because he was doing alot of work at the Conjuring House at
one time when the former owners werethere, and he said that he had
(39:28):
a really crazy experience in this roomwhere he had this black shadow just come
up and appeer out of nowhere. And I said, Rob, I gotta
show you this. So I pulledthis out and I showed him this photo.
He says, that's it. It'sin the same corner. It's everything.
It's like, that's the shadow. He says. It looks a little
bit like. The only thing differentis it looks almost upside down like his
(39:50):
look like an upside down tornado orsomething. You know. It was like
narrow at the top and wide atthe bottom. But he said that was
it. That was it. Andso yeah, so that's that's all I
met. But I thought they wereinteresting enough that I was gonna, oh
yeah, yeah, yeah, thatone's really interesting. I mean they're both
interesting, but like, what isit? You know, you know the
(40:12):
same thing with that, what isI have no idea. I have no
idea. If you guys ever cometo Boston, we need to go on
the ship because it's yeah, wellthat's funny because we're playing Kathy and I
are planning a New England trip nextfall. Oh you are, yeah,
yeah, where where are you thinking? Are you thinking like leaf peeping or
uh? Well, I've never beento New England. So I've got like
(40:37):
a certain amount of states because iwant to hit all fifty of them.
Uh, and I've never been toyou know, anything uh north of New
York or I've never been so I'venever been to like Rhode Island, Connecticut,
Massachusetts all the way up. Ohyeah, Newport. Yeah. So
(40:57):
we're going to plan a road tripfor this fall and so yeah, may
maybe we can do something. Yeah, let me know when you you know,
when you come up this way, because there's plenty of places, you
know, We've got the S.K. Pierce Mansion. That was the
one place, now, you knowthe shadow like that we saw it with
our own eyes. It was Julieand I. We were in it was
(41:19):
two in the afternoon, front collarof this Victorian home and we looked up
and this strange amoeba shaped thing thatwas black came across the ceiling. And
it was more so, it wasn'tlike like a black smoke. It was
more solid than that. But itcame and it went between the chandelier and
(41:42):
the ceiling and then it was itvanished right there and it was gone,
and if I hadn't seen it withmy own eyes, and that was not
you know, we didn't get iton camera. We only have the experience.
You spend a moment trying to likeyou're like blinking, trying to adjust
your eyes. Am I really seeingthis? And then it was gone and
that was it. It was incredible. Yeah, a lot of stuff over
(42:05):
there too. So yeah, there'splenty of haunted places around here if you
want to come out and visit. So, yeah, you go through Boston
area and visit some of the stuffin Boston. You'll love the city too,
really great place. Well she's beenhere, right, because you were
out here a couple of years ago, right, Christina. Last year we
associated twenty two, right, Yeah, yeah, yeah, twenty twenty two.
(42:30):
You know, we said I'm terriblewith numbers. We went out there
and spent some time. We wereWe visited Salem. That was a lot
of fun. Ye, Salem isfun. You mentioned earlier that you you've
written two books. Can you tellus a little bit more about those and
where we could find them. Yeah. Prior to you know, me and
(42:57):
working at OLSR and doing all thatstuff, you know, Kathy and I
used to be on some you know, podcasts and radio shows, you know,
back in the early twenty tens, and one of the questions that people
used to always ask me, haveyou ever written any books? And I'm
like, no, I haven't.Well it got to the point where I
had enough material finally to write somebooks. So I've written two books.
(43:21):
The first one is Insights into theUnknown, a ghost Hunter's Journey. Second
one is Roads into the Unknown,A ghost hunter Journey Continues. And they're
both all of my investigations, personalexperiences, all the locations that we've been
to. And I didn't write itto make money or anything like that.
(43:43):
I did it to satisfy me.I mean, I've always wanted to write
a book, and this is somethingthat I wanted to do, so,
but that's what I based my talkson. Are the these two books the
one presentation I do, and theycan be purchased on Amazon. All as
you have to do is just putmy name into the search in both books,
(44:06):
so we'll come up and I dosell them at events, and they
actually sell them in the museum storeat the House Date Reformatory. So it
was just something cool that I've alwayswanted to do so well, that's great
though, I mean I think youknow you did it. You know,
I've got one that's hopefully will beout in twenty twenty four. But it's
(44:27):
the same thing, you know whatI mean. You have experiences, you
have a journey you're on, andyou want to be able to share it
with people, and right, it'sfor your own benefit, you know.
Yep, that's that's why I wrotethem. And I'm starting a third,
third book now, so just tofind the time. Oh yeah, it's
gonna be about the House Dair Reformatory. It's going to be about the House
(44:49):
Day Reformatory because I've got so manyexperiences there and everything. I got enough
there for a book now, soI can imagine. I mean, you
know, I've never been there withthere weren't tons of other people, but
I'll be honest, I don't.I didn't really feel anything negative there or
(45:09):
anything that frightened me. Some heavinessand some sadness. I picked up one
and I'm not psychic, you know, but you can feel energy, right,
Oh yeah, what about you? What's your experience is there? You
know a lot of the building youdo get that energy. Uh, there
(45:30):
is one area that if I amby myself, I don't like it,
and sometimes if I can, I'lltry to avoid it. And that's that
is the third floor the admine.Believe it or not, it's it's up
on the third floor. It's themain hallway. It's a tea hallway,
(45:51):
and it's right in front of thisarea called the chair room. Uh.
That is one area that you know, it creeps me out a little.
I'm not gonna deny it. Allthe other areas are fine. I can
go into solitary confinement by myself.I can walk the cell blox by myself.
But that's one area where it's likeI'm always looking, you know,
(46:12):
behind me, like all right. So in fact, sometimes not often,
but sometimes I am there by myself. And after the when the guests leave,
I'm the only one in the buildingand I got to go around and
lock stuff up. And that's oneof the areas that's like do I go
out there or do I not goup there? And you know, if
(46:35):
I do go up there, sometimesI'll do a Facebook live because then I
am not alone. You always getthe jokes the that is like what was
that behind you? Now? Iknow I'm going to start watching and doing
that. So yeah, it's butit's a cool location. I love it.
(46:58):
We've had a lot of experience,is there. Yeah enough where I
can give a tour about a twohour tour and just talk all about my
experiences, just yours. Not otherpeople are, but just yours. That's
cool. How long have you beenhow long have you been associated with it?
Well, Katy and I started investigatingit in two thousand and four,
(47:21):
and then we began and then whenI saw it for the first time,
I fell in love with the building. I'm like, when I retire,
I want to work here. AndI retired in twenty and eleven, and
then we started volunteering there in twentythirteen, and then twenty seventeen I became
the lead paranormal investigator there, andthen twenty nineteen our team became the resident
(47:46):
paranormal team, and then two thyand twenty two Kathy became the paranormal program
manager there. We're just talking meabout that I was excited for. Oh
yeah, it's a beautiful place. So see where you fell in love with
it? I I just adore it. Oh yeah, it's it's like with
(48:07):
Kathy and I say, it's ourhome away from home. Uh, there's
a lot of people that love itand yeah, it's just a cool place.
Curious have you ever talked with anyonewho was incarcerated there? Mmm?
Their experiences? Did they have? What? Were there any paranormal experiences back
then? Oh yeah, oh yeahwhen it was open as a prisoner,
(48:29):
Yeah there were experiences. Yeah. You know there's the ones. You know,
inmates should be sleeping in their bunksor you know, laying in their
bunks and they would hear a guardwalking by with the keys jangling, but
when they would look, there'd beno guard walking by, and later on
the real guard would come walking by. So you know, it's just stuff
(48:54):
like like that. But yeah, that's there. There's a long history there.
It's incredible energy, a lot ofenergy. And you know, it's
funny because I tend to shut myselfoff when I'm in some places. People
always say, oh, well, what are you getting? And half the
time I don't get anything because I'mjust I'm not tuned into it, you
know, I'm just in another zone. But where the exhibits were is it
(49:19):
the North cell block where Solstice Sisterswas? Is that the North Cell Block?
Or I don't know what that was. That is the west cell block,
north side. Okay, so ifyou walk down and the showers we
had the speakers is on the right, and you come around the corner that
very next corner, I had thestrangest I don't know, it was almost
(49:40):
like deja vous. It stopped mein my track. I stopped there and
I looked around. It was likeI have definitely been here before. And
I walked and I looked at that. It was like I recognized the court.
It was the weirdest thing just inthat corner. And then I looked
on and yeah, I don't know. I mean, I don't know if
it's anything, but I don't usuallyget dejevou. I don't get feelings like
(50:00):
that. And it was a reallystrange feeling, but only there. It
was not another place in that entirebuilding where I got that sensation. Wow,
directly cool. Yeah, I'm hopingin May when we when we go
back, I can see a littlemore of it, because I really didn't.
I really didn't. I only sawwhere the exhibits were and that was
it, right those spots. Sowe only have a few minutes left.
(50:22):
Tell us are you where are yougiving your talks? Are you do you
have talks planned somewhere or I mostlydo my talks uh during the Halloween season
and it's almost you know, librariesand private groups and businesses in Northeast Ohio.
But you know, I wanted to, you know, spread myself out
(50:44):
and I wanted to get you know, some other may maybe convention, smaller
paranor normal stuff. And that's whyI posted the bio about me. You
know what I've done and what Ido. What what's the best for people
interested in getting you to their event? How do they best reach you?
(51:06):
They can reach me on Facebook orthey can send me an email and that's
G. E. F. Catechat gmail dot com. I actually have
my own personal website too. Allas you got to do is put in
the search me on the Internet andthat'll be one of the first ones that
(51:27):
come up. I think it's likewix, greg faketik, author dot or
something like that. It's really long. And of course if they want to,
you know, come see the OhioState Reformatory, they can do that
as well. There's a site forthat that they have their own site Ohio
State right it's m r p Sdot org. M R. Or they
(51:49):
could come to the paraschon chon,Yes, and they should. Yeah,
that's just parapsychon dot com and it'sp A R A p s y like
psychiatrists or psychic ps y c ON Yes dot com. Definitely worth it.
A lot of good vendors. Imean, you get all the celebrities
(52:09):
that show up, you know, and it's a wonderful event, really is.
It's fun. I mean, wewe like it and you know,
we hope that everybody else enjoys itwhen day they come out. You know,
when we do it for the building, we do it for for the
guests, and you know, allthe money there that we do make on
(52:30):
the event, we just donate itback to the reformatory. So Kathy and
I are the organizers. We wedon't take any money from any of the
profits, and we actually do apet supply drive and a food drive,
so a lot of it given backto the community. Right. I think
it's great. And you know whenyou think about how that you know could
(52:53):
have been raised a lot of likea lot of these paranormal places, you
know, they could just end uplevel with an apartment complex there, right
exactly, So it's great. Yeah, Greg, thank you so much for
being here with us. Really isa pleasure to have you on again.
And I know you were on lastyear talking about parapsychon and you're going to
(53:14):
be back talking about parapsychon because wejust love it so but I appreciate you
coming on and sharing this with usand going through that evidence that was really
fascinating and glad you guys had meon. It was fun. It's a
real pleasure and we will be backlive with you folks next week, I
