The Enfield Demon House

Seventeen years ago, a husband and his wife learned they were expecting twins. They set out to purchase a house within which to raise their growing family. In the fall of 2006, they settled on a modest home in the town of Enfield, Connecticut; however, things were not at all what they seemed. They blindly forged ahead with the purchase, unaware of what was waiting for them inside. After moving into the home, they begin to experience strange occurrences. They contacted their local church and asked the priest if he could do a house blessing. They explained that something frightening was in their house, perhaps a ghost. He sternly replied that there are no such things as ghosts or Demons. He blessed the house from top to bottom and proceeded to turn the knob to the door to the attic. As he began up the stairs, he stopped, unable to move. He backed up and spread holy water over the stairs. Slamming the door, he turned and left the property, telling the owners to ignore it. It would go away.This was the beginning of their nightmare. Over time, the paranormal activity spiked. They invited paranormal investigators into their home in an attempt to find someone who could help. Their lives were about to change. After an investigator was picked up and thrown down the hall, they made a call to Lorraine Warren. They told her that they had witnessed scratching, biting, and levitation. Lorraine replied, " You're leaving something out". They told her that one of their investigators had gotten picked up and thrown down the hall. Lorraine paused and said I cannot come out to that house ever. She offered to help the family by phone and would never step foot in that house.This week on the Paranormal Project, we will talk with the owners of the Enfield Demon House in Enfield, Connecticut.

They bought a home many years agoto raise their family and kind of walked
into a nightmare. And you know, we've all heard the stories about Amityville,
the Amityville horror, the family thatmoved in and get chased out.
I don't know anything about this.We're going to find out tonight in real

time, but it sounds as badas that, except that they weren't able
to leave, and so there's alot that has gone on in this house,
and I'm anxious to bring them outand have a conversation. And you
know, I know there's some peoplehere in the audience, and we'll probably
get a few more as we goon with the show. Feel free to

It's gonna be a real tree.We got some really good surprises to talk
about. It's a lot of history, a lot of twists and turns.
It's just one heck of a ridesince we've been here and ask many questions.
I mean we, like I said, we've been here almost eighteen years
and we tried to get out fourtimes and we could not escape from the

(02:28):
house. Well, maybe we cango back to the beginning. I know
you told me yesterday your twins hadnot been born yet, and you had
bought the house. You found itwas affordable, you got in was what
was how soon after you got indid things start to happen? I would
say that, well, the warningsigns were already there, but we,

(02:50):
like I said, we didn't believein paranormal. Elka was seven months pregnant
and there were like little warning signslike the day we were supposed to move
I have like twenty people lined upto help moved in, and it rained
so so it was so it wasso god awful hobby that everybody canceled.
So the following week we were goingto move in, and my uncle died,

(03:12):
and uh I was I was rentinga house off my father and we
already had planned, so I couldn'teven go to the funeral. So I'll
even back up a little further.When we were looking at the house,
the gentleman gave us a keys tothe house to take a look at it.
Like I was saying, you know, when we looked at the house,
the reason that we kind of gotpersuaded into it was because the owner

(03:36):
had put all brand a new electricalin, all brand new boilers, brand
new roof, brand new windows.And he said, all the big all
the big ticket items are done.All you need to do is sheet rock
plumbing. He goes, you canturn it into whatever you want to.
And so we came back and welooked again. But now on the third
time, where I'll let Elka happen, because it happened at Elka. We

met here, we had two separatevehicles. We met here, and we
looked at the house and she said, you know, can you really do
this? She goes, you're workingsixty five hours a week. She goes,
you know, you don't have anine to five job. She goes,
you're always on call twenty first seven. She goes, can you do
it? Of course we're men.We're like, okay, I'm superman.

(04:20):
I can do it. And sowe came back the third time, and
that's that's when things when we realized, as looking back, we shouldn't have
bought the house and go ahead,oka tello, this is the part.
Well one thing we're still building.It's kind of like the winter house.
We still have the hallway left,but other than that, everything is done.

(04:42):
Yeah. Anyways, we were readyto leave, and I have to
say, I don't really have anyfeelings or anything, but I hated that
house. I never wanted that house. So I had a hard time to
try to to accept that did wereally buy the house? And so I

(05:05):
was to one last one who comingout and locking the door. He was
already outside, and I went onthe porch down wanted to go out,
and and be honest, I can'treally remember what happened, but all of
a sudden, I feel like kindof like someone pushed me because I kind

(05:27):
of like my arms went out anduh and luckily I somehow I stumbled down.
Yeah, she was seven months pregnantwhen this happened, and I fell
angry. I kind of like rolleddown the sidewalk and one for my arms
set on my stomach. So thiswas kind of like the first thing when

(05:48):
he said there's someone in the house. Someone pushed you, and I'm kind
of like I locked the house,so I don't know what could that be.
So well, we we left tocome like, oh it was an
incident. We didn't pay much attentionto it if that could have been something,
so we moved on on that onenight. Yeah, so yeah,

(06:10):
because what I heard as I'm walkingover my vehicle, I heard Jay help
me, and I saw our armsgo flying like somebody shoved her. So
as I'm running to the house,I got one eye scanning in the house
because when you fall, your handswill always go out. You can get
tripped under the tring. It's adefense mechanism. But when I saw her
arms go like this and I heardher yelling for help, I saw her

(06:32):
stumbling. Now as I'm running toher. I'm trying to save her and
the babies, and I'm scanning thehouse because I'm like, somebody's in the
house. Someone just showed my wifeand I. When we left, I
drove to the hospital and I'm like, what is going on? And at
that point I hated the house.I wanted to take my vehicle and drive

(06:53):
it through the side of the housebecause it just I never it was just
really weird. When we got throughthat, we got to hospital, her
and the babies were okay, Kenzie. So what happened next is we ended
up moving in. We got everythingsettled in, and it started out,

(07:15):
well, we should go. Weshould have sent the warning signs because the
day where we were signing all thepapers at the lawyer's office and the guy
said, well, we need atwelve months ahead of house insurance. And
I'm kind of like, yes,I'm out because I said, I'm sorry,
I put every single penny I hadI don't have it. And the

(07:39):
former owner who sold us the housesaid, oh, no problem, I'm
gonna pay you. That's my myhousewarming gift and you paid a year of
twelve pocket So on the way outhe heard him saying to his lawyer.
Thank god, I get rid ofthis house. So he did told me

(08:00):
that at the beginning. Then heheard that we get the house. So
yeah, it didn't It didn't takelong. This is uh. We got
in. It was signed the dealin September of six. Matter of fact,
it was September twenty eighth of twothousand and six. And we by
the time we moved in. Becausewe didn't just come in right away.

(08:22):
I brought in the team of allguys in the trade fields that come in
and we worked then, and evenmy brother came in to help me.
Oh can't you get over here ifyou weren't born yet, So I don't
know why you want to come inright now, So come on in,
So come on in. So anyhow, and we raced around o'clock. And

(08:43):
as now as we were getting ready, my brother, like I said,
he passed on. He was anex marine. It was six to two.
He was a big guy. Sowe were vote former military. But
we both had experience, you know, things that we don't talk about.
But all of a sudden, asI'm seeingding down the floors, I said,
Cliff, and he said, don'tsay it. I said, it
looked like somebody bled out, Isaid, someone died here. I said,

(09:07):
you can see it, and he'slike, don't say it. So
we're trying to sand out the bloodstainand more we sanded it was it was.
It was embedded into the floor,so we had a triple coating polyra
thing over everything. I didn't wantto tell her about that. It was
pretty scary. So these were likelittle things. But we weren't looking for

(09:30):
ghosts. We weren't that. Wewere just trying to get up, get
in the house opposed to other babies. So my brother we worked, like
I said, under clock, gotit livable and moved in, and then
then the weird things started. LikeI said, it was testing us,
and we had no idea what we'regoing to be in for. All of
a sudden, we went out onBlack Friday shoe I was Black Friday shopping

(09:52):
and we bought our first digital camera. And so I came home from work
and I was getting ready. Shewasn't taking me out for my birthday,
and we already had the Christmas treeup. It was already December, and
I'm looking at the tree. I'mjust taking pictures like this. I'm like
this, and then I noticed allof a sudden, this big white light

(10:13):
was on the Christmas tree. SoI'm like, oh, that's some type
of a reflection from the ball.So I took a second one. But
now the ball moves over to thewooden blinds, so now I'm playing with
it. And as I brought itcloser to see the image, then I
realized this is not funny. Therewas a man's face, his hair was
parted in the middle, and he'sstaring right at me, and the orb

(10:39):
but whatever you want to call itwas right next to his cheek. And
I reached up and I was wearinga baseball hat. I said, well,
that's not me. I was thoughtit might have been some kind of
like reflection, and I told herabout it. She said, let's not
go there. Let's not go there. So we went out, and a
couple of months went by, Christmascame, we went out, the babies
came, and we were heading infor what's supposed to be a beautiful year.

(11:05):
Here comes twenty two thousand and seven, and then then we went out.
The babies were born premature, andwhat happened was Elka got sick,
really really bad, and we rushedher to the hospital in Northampton, and
so I was between running to Northamptonto visit her, running to Bay State

(11:30):
Medical and Springfield, mass and workin sixty five hours a week, and
then trying to take care of thehouse. So what happened next is I
went to go pick her up andI said, we got to talk.
We have to have a serious talk. And she had no idea what I
about to talk about. And Itook out to dinner and I said,

(11:52):
hey, I think you're gonna takI'm nuts. And she had no idea.
She didn't know if I was gonnasay I'm divorcing you, I'm leaving
you, because I was really serious, and she said, oh, I
said, I don't know how tosay it, but I said, I
think there's something in the house.And she's like you you know, it's
like a relief came out, whichgoes you too. Because when I when
I went back to work and shewas a home home alone in the house,

(12:15):
I didn't realize it was messing withher so bad. It was playing
games with her. Go ahead,I could talk about how you would feel
like someone's coming behind you, thethings. The babies weren't here at the
time, but the things that werehappening. Yeah, kind of it started
like the noises the dogs went offand there was no reason for it,

(12:37):
or staring in the corner. Thenit started kind of like it rammed up.
It started like little things, andthen it went to I got from
my baby shower a lot of clothes, so I was washing, washing,
and a couple of times did Iput everything in the dryer and kind of

(13:00):
down and the dryadope was open andthe stuff was outside after tryer, And
I'm kind of like, I said, what, Yeah, so this kind
of doesn't usually have like a lockingmechanism. You have to really yank on
them. They do. It didhave a locking mechanism, so and I'm
kind of like, nah, that'ssomething. And I still didn't believe.
So I'm kind of like I startedjoking around, saying, you know what,

(13:24):
the next time, can you pleasefolded at least then put it in
the basket doing that. So,but I didn't kind of like went to
him with it because everything when Isaid that the dogs go off or something
weird happens in the house, helooked at me kind of like I I,
well, I didn't look at youlike that. It was I was

(13:46):
trying to figure out what was goingon, because what would happen would be
I would go to work, Iwould get a frantic phone call Jay,
get home now. And at thebeginning, when she was on bedrust,
she called me and said, therewas a giant dog in the house.
You got to get home. SoI thought, oh my god. So

(14:07):
I came flying home and she saidit seems huge. She goes, it's
about a three hundred pound dog.So as I'm listening the way she's describing
this animal, I'm thinking, Okay, maybe she because being pregnant hormones.
I don't know what's going on.I look for a dog. But at
the same time, I'm thinking,you know what, it's an old house.
I'm thinking, well, maybe there'stunnels, maybe somebody's squatting, maybe

(14:30):
there's something wrong. I cleared thehouse, I checked everything out. There's
there was nothing, and I wouldkeep getting phone calls Jay get home now.
Now. What she was talking aboutwas she went downstairs to get some
baby formula. I should put theclothes in a drawer and it locked.
It was one of those big onesfrom the lows, and she said when

(14:52):
she put it in, she hadthis weird feeling, and she says she's
not sensitive. She's very sensitive tothe stuff. She's very modest. She
turned her and where the boilers arewas his giant black shadow man, and
she took up up ran up thestairs, and that's how I got the
second phone call, get home.Someone's in the house. So I came
home again. I cleared the house, not one living soul in their So

(15:16):
now I'm scratching my head. SoI decided at this point, I called
up the local church and I said, father, can you come over and
do a house blessing? And he'slike, sure, can, I'll be
going this day. So I didn'trealize he was walking over. So he's
walking on the street. So Imet him and I told him, I
says, father. I said,oh, I think there might be something

(15:37):
in the house. And he said, like a bird, chipmunk, squirrel.
What are we talking about? Isaid, well, my wife.
You know, I blame it onher all the time. My wife thinks
something's in the house. He waslike, he stops and he's like,
well, like what I said,you know, like a ghost, And
he looked at me. He saysthere was no such thing as ghosts or
demons. He goes, mister abut he goes and I will prove it
to you. So we get tothe house. He meets okay, he

(16:00):
throws holy water. He goes throwa hole in the whole side, and
he said, see, hey,there's nothing here. I said, father,
we got to go next door onthis side. So I had table.
Saw his head set up. Igot wires hanging down. I'm doing
wiring and plumbing. And he says, I'll go to the house. So
he goes to the house. Hegoes upstairs and at the time the attic
was opened, I had to sealit off. The attic now because I
had to make I made two roomsup there for the kids. But he

(16:22):
goes up to now on the atticdoor, there was like all kinds of
dead bolts, locks, everything,and I could never figure out what are
they trying to keep in or outof the attic. So he goes up.
He opens them all up. Hegoes up all confident. He takes
three steps up and he freezes andhe's staring at something. And I'm looking
at him and I feel like callinghim, like, who had father?

(16:45):
Are your chicken? You know?Go ahead? And he's looking he takes
one step back, and he takeshe goes one more step up, and
he said, you know what,I'm gonna bust the staircase and he throws
holy water over it. He backsdown. He never turns his face off
the staircase. He backs down,gets out, slams the door, bolts
it, runs down the stairs,runs out, gets to the door,

(17:07):
looked at me, totally frantic.He said, ignore, it will go
away, and he takes off.So Alca's like, where did the priest
go? She goes, I haveI'm making things for him. So that
began our nightmare, a nightmare almostinto hell. It was. Things got
ramped up and I went down tothe town hall, and this is how

(17:30):
I got all my information. Imet this really beautiful woman and I hear
her name was Colleen, and sheworked at the department. And I went
in there and I was going tohandle it like an investigation. I said,
I want a list of everybody whoowned my house all the way back.
And I said, I want toknow who was in my house,
and so she said, So shestarts going through papers and she's laughing and

(17:51):
joking me and pulling out things.And I noticed that they're getting older.
You know, the boats are gettingolder. She says, you know it's
a dollar a copy. I say, I know. She was going to
get quite expensive. I said,that's okay. I said, just keep
going. So she stops and shesays, she sits back, and she
reaches into her neck. She pullsout a very old keptic cross and she
kisses it, and she says,is there something you're not telling me about

(18:14):
your house? And I'm like,dude, dude right, I'm like,
I'm like, well, you know, I think we might have possibly a
ghost. She goes, you think. She goes, we haven't got out
of the twentieth century yet. Shegoes, a lot of people have owned
your house. And she says,you know what I'm gonna do. She
goes, I'm gonna write down ona piece of paper which I have.
I'll show you, Scott when youcome out. I have all this stuff
where she writes on everybody's name,and she says, I'll let you know.

(18:38):
She goes that things go on.So weeks weeks we go by,
and again i'd get a phone callat the office. You know, hi,
this says Colley. I go over, I close my door and Saidhi,
Collen, what's going on? Shegoes, You're not gonna believe this.
She goes, you know so andso, I don't want to get
too much invarage of Scot's come up. She goes, I don't want to

(18:59):
mention names, but there was amass murder at your house. I'm like
what. I'm like, what areyou talking about? She goes somebody I
wont mention names. I want Scottto pick up. She goes someone in
the nineteen twenties. She goes,left your house, went down the street
and committed a bunch of murders andcame back and killed himself. So she
had access also to the death record, so she got hooked on. It's

(19:22):
like a soap propers. As shewas finding things out, she was pulling
people's desks of ticketfits. So that'show we know a lot of stuff.
So I'm looking. So we're like, what is going on? So we
go by. She goes, well, you know those people I told you
not to worry about that. Theylived there from from the nineteen sixties to
two thousand and you told me Jaythat they probably had a long, happy

(19:45):
life. She goes, they didn't. She goes, you got to get
out of the house. She goes, there's something really bad about that house.
I said, She goes, I'mgoing to keep looking, and she
got all the way back down toeighteen forty six and then she says,
I can't find anything else. Shegoes, maybe the house was built by
somebody in the family. So aswe were looking, we realized a couple

(20:07):
of things started popping up. Numbersthat stood up was a lot of twenty
two's, a lot of elevens nowthose dates cour signed horrific events in the
house. So as that's happening,I decide that year we had the babies
are home, spring was coming somewherewas here, and there's so much information.

(20:32):
I looked to get every over andwhatever. I can't. But one
of the main things that happened waswe were outside and if you look at
the front of house, we weremaking a dry river bed to make it
give some some like some some likecharacter to the house. So all of
a sudden, we're out there.We've got the doors open, we got
the we got McKenzie and Courtney.There were babies, we got baby miners
on them. We're out there,we're laughing and joking and we're placing rocks,

(20:56):
and all of a sudden, Ihear this man's voice, Hey did
you buy this house? So Ilook up and there's a man about eighty
five eighty seven years old. He'sgot a cane, and I'm like,
yeah, I thought he was gonnawelcome to the neighborhood. I'm like,
yeah, you know, I thoughthe was say yeah, my name is
so, and so I lived nextdoor. He says, you should never
bought this house. He goes,this house is evil. He goes,

(21:18):
you gotta get out, and I'mlike, what a way to welcome in
the neighborhood. So I was baby, yeah, yeah, and a lot
of stuff we can kind of backup with some evidence, but a lot
of stuff were just like fantasy Island. So we start talking. He said
when I was a little boy,he said, I would walk by the
house, and even the language hewas using was out of text. He

(21:40):
goes, when I was walking bythe house, he goes, I want
to have a playmate, And hesays, there was a little boy in
that window up there, and Iwould wave to him. He would wave
back. So after a while,he said, he stopped and as he
waved the boy waved back and hesaid, he goes, I beckoned the
boy. He didn't say. Icalled the boy, and I beckoned the
boy to come down, and whenI did, his face turned into a

(22:03):
hideous creature. He said, Idropped my school books. I ran home,
and he goesid and I got inthe house. He goes my father,
He goes, they were all welived in an old Italian They would
wait down the street and I'm notmcn'tay sorry, buddy. So he says,
as I walked in the house,my father's like, oh, you
want to play hooky. You know, you don't want to go to school.

(22:26):
And that's what he thought, becausethat's how strict the parents were.
And he's yelling monsters, monsters,and his grandfather's like, what are you
talking. He goes at the endof Prospect Street and his grandfather said,
wait a minute. He goes,when I was a little boy, he
said there there was a story thatgoes back farther. He said that a
little boy came running out of thehouse screaming, and he was this is

(22:48):
a sad part. He was hitby a horse and buggy. His father
came out, picked the boy up, brought him in the house, and
the boy died. So I callup the same the hall all right,
and I said, hey, Ineed you guys, need your health.
I something we kind of like stillworked when the man told the old man

(23:11):
told us this, and all ofa sudden get quiet. So we both
looked up and the man was gone. He was gone on both sides on
the street. And I'm kind oflike, where where did he go?
I mean, he had a cane. I said, he can't go that
fast. So we thought, firstmaybe he looks really close by and he

(23:32):
just took off, and but itdidn't. Said well, so I asked
all the people in the neighborhood,there's an older man here with the cane.
Does anyone know the name of thisof this gentleman? And everyone said
nobody. Let's see it like nobodyknew who he was. He just vanished
gone. So going back to you, you're calling Colleen to find out I

(23:56):
had asked. I had asked thegentleman. I said, you know,
do you know the boy's name?You anything, I'm trying to get some
information out of him. And hesaid, well, Petersons something Parsons.
It began with air p and Isaid, okay, and like and that's
what I was saying. All ofa sudden, it was like, I
don't want to say a time lapse. All of a sudden we looked up.

(24:18):
He's gone. So we're looking.I said, someone this age and
and and his health with a caneisn't going to run. He's not gonna
sprint. So I'll go, likeI said, went around. She got
to know all the neighbors, andeverybody said, that man that you're describing,
we never see them. Man,nobody walks the street because everybody in
the neighborhood they watch out for everybodyover the years. So I went to

(24:38):
Colleen. I said, I needa name. I said, Peter's Parsons,
anything, Parsially anything Again, Igot a phone call from I'm at
work. I closed my office door, and she says, uh, there
is a guy. His name isSean, a Scottish guy by the name
is Schelmbau Parsons. He owned yourhouse in the in the in the early

(25:00):
eighteen fifties. And she goes,here's the weird thing. She goes,
I see of a little boy,but every time I go back to send
it to you, she goes,I can't find him no more. She
goes, I can't find this littleboy at all, but I know I've
seen him. So she said,I'm going to make get everything goes out.
So when she sends me the wholelist, I see the house bought,
soul bought, so eighteen forty sixbought, so bought. So now

(25:23):
here's the weird part, Like it'snot already weirder. The first guy,
kenzie, I don't fee if youcan reach in that box and get me
that paper. The house gets soldby a guy by the name Henry Graham
Thompson in eighteen forty six. Nowthe Thompson, it's like Smith everything else
like that. Now the name ofthis part of the town is called Thompsonville,

(25:44):
Connecticut. So we just figured okay, And as we started looking at
him this year, we found outhe was the son of the founder of
Thompsonville, Connecticut, who started othercarpet mills. He sells the house to
a gentleman by name Maharror Abbey ineighteen forty six. And this is all
everything has to do with twenty twentytwo. So conen shifted. This is

(26:07):
the paper of the people that ownedthe house and only goes back to forty
six to where we bought the house. So in eighteen forty six Henry Graham's
Townsend sells it to Harrace Abbey andhe sells it New lisen Is. On
May eighteen forty six, the housegets sold to that guy I was talking

(26:29):
about shamboo parsons on the twenty seconda May. Now what happens to Horace
Abbey? He dies in the houseand guess what day he dies? February
twenty second, eighteen forty nine.He doesn't even have the house more than
a couple of years. Now ShambouParson comes in. He buys the house

(26:52):
right thinking it's him and his son. His son dies, so then he
turns around. He buys it andMay he gets rid of the house,
sells it to a guy. Butnow William Tate he sells the house.
Gets what day he sells it onthe twenty second of September. He has
it from May twenty second to Septembertwenty second. Now William Tate, guess

(27:15):
what happens to him? He thinkshe's gonna have a nice house because at
the time this area was very awealthy area. Poor guy, he only
has it for four years, thehouse gets he dies, the house gets
sold to a William Lydell, andthat's a whole new story. So you
can see eighteen forty six, eighteenfifty one, eighteen fifty one, eighteen

(27:40):
fifty six, and then a guybuys it and then we find out more
about him. So as we're digginginto this, we just at first there
there's names of people that own thehouse. Colleen, she's a superwoman.
She goes and she starts digging onthese peedeople, and without her, we

(28:02):
wouldn't ever known this. So shestarts looking at how they died. The
little boy was he was pretty muchalmost wiped out because of horse and buggy,
she said. And she's tried togive me the paper, but she
can't find it nowhere. But thenthe first guy he dies in the house
from seable morrhaging. Then the otherguy dies. He has you'll see a

(28:23):
lot of heart attacks. Boom hedies. So now as this is happening,
were having our own experiences. Nownow we're, like I said,
we're in two thousand and seven,and now we realize we got some kind
of problem. So we call up, we look in the Yellow Pages,

(28:44):
we start looking online. It's notlike there's a lot of paranormal communities out
there. So I had reached outto a couple of well known groups that
are still out there, and acouple of guys. One of them they
lived in Suffield. They were twocollege places, and they were they had
a team. So we talked tohim. He goes, okay, you

(29:04):
know, he comes over. Atthe time, my sister was alive,
and so they split up with thewomen and the guys and they went over
in the living room and all ofa sudden, you hear the woman going,
hey, you know, I can'tremember their names, like Jeff,
get over here, and he's like, no, get over here. They
watched there was a big banana plantpot like this that was maybe about four

(29:25):
feet tall. They literally, asthey were talking to my sister and Alka,
they watched the thing slide across thefloor right in front of them,
and they're like, did you seethat? While we were in the dining
room, Elka had this party likebirdcage. It with a candle. When
you walked, it kind of movedwith vibration, but it looked like somebody
took their hands and was going likethis and they're like, did you see

(29:47):
that? So they're like, wehave more than enough information. We'll be
in contact. Boom. They neverwanted to come back. We got another
team come in here. They comein, same thing. They wal up,
they see this shadow person right inthe front of him and they feel
this awful breeze. They're like,they took pictures. They're like, they
called me up, they sent methe picture. They said, what is

(30:10):
that black thing hanging up in yourup on the thing? I said,
I don't know, maybe a sailingfan. He said, We're we're really
busy guys. I'm sorry, butcan't come back. So Coleen had called
me up and she said, Iknow this this at the time. He
was a young guy. Hopefully he'slistening right because we're all young back then.

(30:32):
So he she said, he juststart of a paranormal group and have
him come over now. At thetime, this gentleman's name is Matt,
and Matt had no idea what hewas going to get himself into. His
first investigation came over. He's like, it was snow onenger because I'm not
really sure. But when he cameback, I was working upstairs and he

(30:52):
comes over for a couple of coffee, and as we're talking, he's here
bam smashed and I'm like, uhno, He's like what I said,
I'm I'm redoing the baby's room justbecause of it. They were still in
our room. They were still stillno more on babies, and I said,
he goes, what was that noise? I said, I hope my
fan didn't get thrown out the windowbecause I said, I'm a sheet rocking

(31:12):
up there. I'm trying to blowall the dust out. So we run
upstairs and nothing, there's nothing.So now my bedroom door is shut and
I'm like, Matt's like, didyou shut the baby's door? And you
be I said no, So wetry to open up. Now there's no
lock on the door. So Mattis trying to turn it and he's like,

(31:34):
Jay, somebody is holding the doorback and the children in the room.
The kids are in the room,and at this point, I'm like,
these are my kids. I said, stand back, Matt. I'm
gonna run and I'm gonna go rightthrough the door. I'm going to breach
the door like oh I used tobe talk so and then I'm ready to
go breach the door. I'm gonnathrow my shoulder into it. It's a
luan door. You heard this likepin It was like a high pitched bell,

(31:57):
sound like somebody took a uh likealmost like a fine crystal and hit
it. When it happened, thedoor blew open. Mac goes flying across
her room on the ground. Hegets up, He looked around. He
goes, you know what, Idon't have experience in this level. But
he goes, this is no ghost. He goes, this is something far

(32:21):
worse. He goes, we checkedthe babies. My daughter Courtney woke right
up. I tried to get McKenzieup. It was like she was in
some kind of like I don't know, she was in a deep sleep.
We finally got her up everything.Then we started noticing and I had taken
a picture, and I would betelling Elka, because Elka worked in the
medical field. I would call herup and say, hey, the baby's

(32:43):
getting scratched, and she goes,I don't get it. She would come
home the scratches would be gone.So now I got my little handy dandy
digital camera I just bought, right, So now I take a picture boom
right, because there's three like littlescratches down Courtney's leg. So when Elka
comes home at night, she says, Courtney's fine it. So I get
the I get him, you know, processed on the computer. I said,

(33:05):
look at it. She goes,oh my god. So this started
ramping up. So now we're seeing. Now we're here. Now we're seeing
things. Lever tate we're here,and scratches banging on the walls, and
Matt's coming over, and all ofa sudden, this one day, I'm
working at the kids, got themup up nap Alka comes from shopping.

(33:29):
Matt comes over because he has awhole bunch of evidence he caught, He
had video, he had everything,he had caught. He goes, your
house is really messed up. Sohe goes over to show us. And
then upstairs here a smash pow.So Alka, I said, Alka,
I've just been up there. Shegoes, she runs up there. I
said, Matt, go go withher, and I hear them both yell,

(33:52):
Jay get up here now. SoI go up there, and I'm
like, what the heck does happeninghere? They had a little Winnie the
Pooh lamp and a small little kindorOpera light bulb. There's a glass all
the way down the hallway. There'sa glass everywhere, and I'm looking.
I start freaking out. I seebloody handprints climbing up the baby's crib and

(34:13):
like, oh my god, checkCorney out. Elka grabs Courtney. She
looks at her. She does afinger sweep in her mouth. There's no
glass, no cuss on her hand. I said, it's gotta be Mackenzie,
mackenzie nothing. So now it's like, oh my god, where did
the blood come from? He evenfound glass under the mattress everywhere from a

(34:35):
little it was such a small lightbulb. And so how long ago was
this? Jane about how how manyyears ago did that happen? In two
thousand and seven around the fall earlyon? So as this is happening,
guys, I'm gotta watch the timesI can talk. The one thing like
I'm like a somebody said, becauseI was told that a native at me,

(35:00):
and I always believe in like aliving history. I keep everything and
I can tell you details. SoMatt's like, this is something. He
goes, I've never encountered this.So he's like, I gotta find out
what's going on. So as thingsare going on, Matt's getting involved.
So now Matt's getting called out.One time, Matt's like, he goes,
I'm not afraid of this thing.He goes, we're going to find
out what's in this house. Onceand fall, we gave Matt the keys.

(35:22):
Matt was coming back. It's stumpedthem. He's like, I don't
have this type of experience. Hegoes, if this is a demon or
something, he goes, but we'regoing to find out. He goes,
he called his name, well wethought it called his name, but we're
not sure because he yelled. Atone time they had he had a camera
up in the attic that was openat time, and Matt said, did

(35:43):
you get insulted in any way?When Jay invoked the name Jesus Christ?
And at first he was here witha medium, and at first he didn't
hear it, and then all ofa sudden he heard his loud yes.
And then the attic, the smalllittle cubby hole door he called on camera,
it blows open, something comes out, you can hear something walk around.

(36:06):
Then it goes back and closes thedoor. So now as this is
happening, we don't know what's goingon. Matt has a medium over the
two thirty in the morning. Wehear Jay Elka, open it, or
please wake up, open it,or please open the door. Hurry up,
hurry up. They're frantic, andI'm like, what's going on.
The Medium's like your house is completelysomething's awful. Matt's like it called my

(36:30):
name and it came after us.So as we're talking, you know,
upstairs is vacant, and you hearwith heavy wooden boots, something came down
the attic stairs, walked into thebig room, walked around and we're all
listening. We're like, we thoughtthis is it. We're all gonna die.

(36:52):
He walked around and then it camedown the stairs boom boom, boom
boom, and it got to thedoor. Matt's face was drained. Mike
was just sitting there. I'm likelooking, I'm just ready for like a
firefighter. I'm waiting for something tocome running through our house and alcs like,
what in the heck is that?And then all of a sudden,

(37:12):
you hear something walking around and thenyou hear it go start going back up
the stairs, like whatever came downwas looking for Matt and looking for his
medium, and who knows what wouldhave happened if they didn't get over our
house, what this thing could havedone to him? So now we opened
the door like a almost like aNancy Drew mystery thing. We opened the

(37:32):
door and we're listening to this thinggo up the stairs. And then Mats
like, you know what, don'tgo in. We don't know what's in
there. So finally, you know, we're all huddled like Scooby Doo.
We opened the door and you hearthe thing go back up the stairs.
Nothing was in the house. Sonow Mass like, you know, he's
still he's still trying to find it. Then he tells us we found out

(37:58):
through one of the the time likehe was like, he wasn't on demonologies,
but he worked with severe cases andhe contacted to see if the stories
are true. And Matt said,don't get involved in his house. He
says it will change your life.And his name was Bob Baker, and
he told Bob he said he hadone of his investigators over and she was
wearing a cross and she was brandnew in the field and when she left,

(38:21):
she was robbing her chest and keptrobbing, and Matt's like, what's
what's going on? He goes mychest is burning me, Matt. And
Matt's like said, check out yourcheck it out. Make sure she the
cross that she had Lily burnt intoher chest and made a sign of the
cross for a thing. So Mattis like, I'm not going to give

(38:42):
up on you guys. He goes, but this is something he was I've
never encountered. So at the time, we went through some more investigators,
a lot of investigators, a lotof priests. So then we had a
call in from cprs UH called.It was called Connecticut Paranormal Research Society,
and the two guys that were therewere awesome guys. It was Orlando Fronte
and Joe Franks, And so Joesent Orlando up with the team and Orlando's

(39:09):
he's witnessing lebretation. He's winning allthis now, this is in two thousand
and eight. He gets Joe.He goes, Joe, you got to
come out. He goes, Idon't know what to do now. I
didn't realize that Joe was best friendswith Lorrain and Ed Warner, that he
worked with them in the late eightiesand nineties, and Joe's an awesome guy.
They were all awesome guys. Soof course, the day that Joe

(39:30):
shows up, nothing happens. Orlando'slike, I'm telling you, Joe,
this is not a Joe. Sothe whole night not one peep, and
we're all waiting. We're like,come on, show Joe, you know,
show him what you can do.So Joe says, I'll be back.
But now this time Joe was reallygood. He doesn't announce what he's
gonna do. Orlando says, Joe'scoming up, make sure you guys at

(39:53):
home, and hears all of that, make sure you guys at home.
So they show up and there area whole army of people. There's an
our Dame minister, a camera woman, a sound guy like I said,
or Dan, everybody, Orlando andhim. Now Orlando gets on his headphones
and he's got this one. He'slistening for sounds. He has a medium
and the medium starts to channel rightaway, a Scottish woman, another person,

(40:17):
and Joe's trying to figure out what'sgoing on. So now Joe finally
gets He gets upset because Orlando says, Joe, they're saying, there's many
of us here, there's this,and they're saying weird thing. So Joe
says to me. He's to theguy who's channeling who what's your name?
It won't tell him his name.So Joe said, you know what,
do something. He goes, you'renot impressing me last time I was here.

(40:38):
He goes, you will do onething. He goes, are you
afraid of me? He goes,I'm a big guy. He goes,
my five year old son can bloout a candle. You could make a
pencil move because, do something now. At this time, the medium grabs
his arm and starts biting his arm. And I'm like Ravo, I said,
what a great theatrical play. Idon't. I have a hard time
believe it and stop right, ButI don't it changed. He's biting so

(41:01):
hard that he's almost tearing his armup. He blood's coming out of his
arm. It took his own arm, his own arm. He had no
pain threshold. So now Joe runsover, and you know, if you
know Joe Fink, he's not asmall guy. He grabs the guy's arm.
Orlando gets the other guy's two morepeople. It took five or six

(41:21):
guys to get the guy to stopbiting his arm. It's like the guy
had superhuman strength. So now Joegets really upset. Joe says, you
know what, So he goes,you want to pick on women and children?
Orlando at this point makes the mostfatal mistake any paranormal investigator could make,
and he grates it to this day. He still won't come over to
the house. What happened to him? He challenges this thing. He says,

(41:45):
why are you picking on women andchildren? Why don't you come and
pick on him? I won't saythe words. I don't want to get
screwed with. And he said,Joe, I aft up. Joe said,
yeah, you're dead. He goes, maybe nothing will happen Earlyano He
goes, but you should not havesaid I slipped it, waited a year
and went after him with full vengeance. You know that's a whole story.

(42:07):
So what happens next is Joe goes, go ahead, do something this time.
Joe's like, I want to seewhat you are Well upstairs in the
in the baby's room, there wasan ordained minister. There was a camera
woman. And the only reason Imentioned her weight like you hear before,
is because what happens next. Thewoman is about five feet tall, about
two hundred thirty five pounds and she'sjust taking pictures everything. So when Joe

(42:30):
goes to raise his hand out,you can feel the house energy, you
know those things. I said,Joe, don't pick on this thing.
He's like, no, no,He goes, We've been in this field
a long time. All of asudden, as he goes to say do
something, you hear wam and youhear his blood. Thurston scream, Joe,
Orlando, anybody please help me.So I run up there, like
you know, I train. Iwant to be the first out there.

(42:50):
I want to see what's going on. I see this poor woman laying almost
down the staircase. People don't realizethat when you see my staircase. We
had the doorjam here and she andI just I realized it years later.
She she was not intended to hitthe door jam. If she went any
further, she would have hit thewall and went down the stairs and probably
died. It picked her up likesix to eight feet, their dained minister.

(43:15):
When I looked at him, hewas standing with his tippetes against the
wall. His face was like this, and I'm like, what happened?
Tell me what really happened? Hegoes one minute I almost said her name.
I can't say that. But oneminute she's standing. He goes,
next minute, I see her labatatingoff the ground and throwing and he goes,
I've never seen nothing like that.So Orlando goes, you got to

(43:37):
make the call, and Joe goes, I know, I said what call.
So they go downstairs, and ofcourse we have landlines and Joe has
on speaker. He calls Lorraine Warrenand he says, Lorrain, my dear
sweet friend, we need you here. And she says, tell me what's
going on? Joe. He says, we witness the lebritation, scratching,
biting. He goes, my Meetiumalmost bit his arm up, and he

(44:00):
goes, we need you. Yougot to come out. She was on
standby and she said, wait aminute. She goes, you're not telling
me everything. She goes, whatthere's something important that you left out.
What aren't you telling me? Hesaid, uh, Lorraine, He goes,
so and so was picked up likea rag, down and throwing down
a hall. There was a momentin silence. She says, tell the

(44:23):
family, I'm truly sorry. Icannot come out. I will not put
one foot in that house. Shesays, I'll talk to him over the
phone. I'll do what I cando. And they begged her, they
said, please, please, Theysaid, this is something really rare,
something that's not right here. Shesaid, I'm sorry, I will help
you guys, but she goes,I will not put one foot house.
To the day she died, shewent to ans Nantuck Committee to college down

(44:46):
the street and feel she talked,but she would not come anywhere near this
house. And I, as I'mlooking back as we started, I found
a text where I was talking toOrlando and I said in the text it
says, I said, what didthe Lorraine said, well, she thinks,
he goes, I just talked toher. She thinks there's a demon,
a powerful one. She goes,I'm gonna talk with Tony. So

(45:07):
all these years, Tony, everybodyknew about it, but they refer to
this case is a case that Lorrainewouldn't come out. Last year, Dan
came out with Chris and Dan's like, hey, Chris, this is the
house. And he says, wow, house. He goes, this is
the house. He goes, Dan, he goes, what do you tell
me? He goes, this isthe house. You hear Tony talk about

(45:29):
this is the only house that Lorrainrefused to come out to, and Chris
is like, oh, I gotyou. So yeah, Well we have
about nine minutes left. So Ijust want to make sure I'm telling you,
like like the story I could goon, but I am actually going
to be at the house on Sundayand with you and with Matt and so

(45:52):
we will have to have a followup at some point on this. But
I wanted to ask you what islife like, because you're still there,
what is life for you like nowin this house? Well, well,
I guess, well, answer forme, it's like almost being in a
war zone. It's calmed down.That one entity we believe it is gone.

(46:15):
It's not that bad anymore. Thatone entity we believe left in twenty
fifteen. It came with a highprice from a guy who came up here
to get rid of it. Italmost killed him. I guess there was
a deal struck where if it stayed, if if he stayed out of the
if he stayed out of the fieldhelping people because he had a special gift.

(46:36):
And I'll tell you really quick kindof what happened. The guy came
out, they paid for the wholetrip to help us out. The first
day he didn't work. The secondday it worked, so my daughter kept
calling up. His name was jayDodd, and jaydd could talk him.
So finally Jaydadd said to put yourdad on the phone. He goes,
I can't help you anymore. Whathappened when he left and it dreamed this
entity went to him and the entitysaid stay away, get out of his

(47:00):
field, stay away, And hesaid, I'm a man of God.
I'm not afraid of you. Hesaid, do you know who I am?
I said, I'm a man ofGod. A week later he had
a massive heart attack, and thenthe entity came back and on dream he
goes, now do you know whoI am? So there was a deal
struck. So since then, thisone evil entity has not come back,
but the other spirits that were beingsuppressed here, they won't leave. And

(47:22):
it's sometimes it's nerve wracking, it'scussed. Sometimes it's really weird. The
energy is sometimes really bad. Didyou go somewhere and then out of the
blue you get so agitated. Didyou really gonna start kind of like fighting,
kind of like almost like it onceit did you? And then you

(47:44):
leave the house and then you don'teven know why you fought that stuff kind
of like and I feel bad becausemy kids, both of my kids have
I guess, I would say agift. They see stuff so kind of
like a little bit musical around inthe house where we sleep. So my

(48:05):
daughter usually she sleeps three different bedrooms, and now we have a face again
that she sleeps in the room.And now she's on the couch again,
so I guess something, So shemoves around. I switch around, so
you maybe because she sees stuff andyeah, that stuff, so it gives

(48:27):
me. I don't know, Idon't know what it does, but I
have to switch up. I gofrom my bed and then and then I'll
go to the couch and then I'llgo back to my bed. And then
I had built two beautiful bedrooms inthe attic. I had closed them off
with the kids because I got older. And as soon as I put her
upstairs in this room upstairs, she'sI can't sleep in there. She kept

(48:50):
talking about creatures and monsters and things. So finally I built the other side
over and my other daughter wanted thatroom. As soon as she got in
that room, it was I don'twant to say it was like an experiment.
She started talking about creatures and everything. So finally she was sleeping downstairs.
And so finally, when I hadthe other room built, it was
built for Elka. I made itinto like a nice cottage. Looking was

(49:13):
beautiful, and it came out beautiful. And what happened was I tried sleeping
in that room. I couldn't.I end up sleeping on my living room
floor for about six months and onan air mattress because they did not want
me in the attic. So Iended up redoing my bedroom over, resheet
rocking it. And while I wasresheet rocking, I felt like I was

(49:36):
in some other house because I wassleeping on an air mattress while I was
sheet rocking the ceiling getting the wallsdone. And finally, when I got
the room done, Elka came down. But then Mackenzie she had a craft
room. She was all happy.She took the old small room. I
made a new craft room and shehad it filled. So Mackenzie said,
the only I want that small room, otherwise I can't sleep in a room.

(49:57):
So we pulled everything out, madethe craft room upstairs here for Eka.
Redid that whole entire thing got thebet I made for her, put
her up there, and it cameafter her. So now she's sleeping downstairs
on the living room couch until somethingcomes at her. And this, this
is not the demon. This isthe spirits that are there now, are

(50:19):
still here. She still sees themin some some of them, some of
them are are human. They're human. They don't they don't hurt you.
The spirits here now, I don'thurt you. Even the gangster from the
twenties, he doesn't hurt you.He's kind of like he's curious about you
more. And I think he's tryingto figure out what happened because he doesn't

(50:39):
know if he was murdered or committedsuicide. Because later on, I think
he kind of kept pushing us tokind of find out because I talked to
his son before he died. Hisson filled into all kinds of information on
what happened. So when he's hereand if I start talking about him,
I'll start getting chills. And somepeople hear them walk in the door and

(51:00):
it will start off cap balls andlights and you can literally hear them once
and once in a blue moon walkacross the floor and you'll help them to
the kitchen and like he's enjoying theconversation, and so yeah, this well,
like I said, we tried threetimes to get out of here,
and every time we try to getout, something horrific would happen. And

(51:21):
I know we're short for a time. But one time, the first time,
within three weeks, I lost mybrother, my sister, Elka's dog.
They died. We don't know howthey died. And then I find
out that year my friend who wasan attorney who was trying to help us
get out, we found out thatOctober in two thousand and nine, Mike
was teaching softball in Avon, Connecticutand had a massive heart attack and died.

(51:46):
How do you keep people safe thatcome to the house because they know
you do have events there. Youhave people come in and investigate it.
We do, well. It tookus years to figure out. Right now,
the spirits that are here now,like I said, JA took this
one entity away. So the spiritsthat we have now, they're human.
They lived here. So sometimes Itell them, you know, like when

(52:07):
I'm cleaning the house and say,hey, guys, there's an event tonight.
Okay, stay on this side,don't come next door, you know,
and let them know that they're tryingto They're trying to communicate with you.
Let them you know they're not hereto harm you. Let them talk
to you if you can show yourselfor whatever you can do to let you
know. They're trying to find outwho you guys were, and you guys

(52:28):
have a story. This is yourhouse. You passed away here. Let
them get to know you. Andso far, no one's got hurt.
I mean nobody. That entity isgone. But as soon as if the
entity ever came back, I tellthe paranelm investigators, I shut this house
down, CeAl the door, andnobody can come in. I don't want
anybody getting hurt. But now youtry to leave again. If that happened,

(52:52):
you would or would you stay?At this point do you think we
tried and the last time we tried. I don't know. Probably at this
point we are I would say probablyin a better position to say, or
no, I would not say ina better position, but I would.
I would not care about anymore ifI would leave it behind. Kid's almost

(53:14):
grown, almost done at school.I don't want to say it's at a
position to be, but it's justkind of like it would be probably easier
to say, you know what,I don't care if the house gets and
be gonna go somewhere else. SoI'm gonna I'm gonna talk to you on
Sunday. We have reaching the endof the show and I have to say
