(00:00):
I have just finished writing my book, well, the first draft of
it. I pleasure it.
Welcome to another episode with Queen Patricia.
Hi, if you are new here, I am the multi award-winning and
certified a Polynesia educator also known as Pleasure Toy
Queen. I have set myself a challenge to

(00:22):
write my book about pleasure within 30 days.
Well, the first draft of it and I am so excited to say that I
have made it just within these 30 days.
So usually I should have been finished a couple days earlier.
However, I had a cyclone situation happening for four to

(00:44):
five days. So I thought I'm just going to
add that to the end of it because I had no power, no
Internet and with dealing with all of that, shops closed,
school closed and just trying tomake it through the 1st cyclone
experience was a challenge within the challenge.
So I took those days and put them on the back of it.

(01:04):
And fair to say I have managed to finish writing my book in 30
days. Even though if you've watched my
update after 10 days and then after 20 days, then I've given
you the updates of how I have progressed.
I've actually said after the 20 days that I will take off the
pressure and not focus on the outcome of finish writing that

(01:27):
book in 30 days, but rather do it by its own terms and really
ease into the journey of it, of feeling all the feelings because
it is a book that's really closeto my heart.
It includes personal stories, lots of my tips of what I have
learned and been through that can help you to unlock, deepen

(01:50):
and widen your pleasure potential to live your most
pleasure lit life. And obviously writing those
stories and sharing those experiences really does
something to you when you know this is going to be out in the
world. So I had a lot of emotions

(02:11):
coming up and working through them, so I was able to actually
let them go because they no longer serve me and making room
for new experiences and for the pleasure lit way.
And interestingly, after that, the last few days have been
really intense in writing. And I believe that has a

(02:35):
combination of the topics because towards the end of the
book, I'm talking more about exploration, fun and play.
So the topic was more playful, alighter, more fun to write
about. So it was easier to go through
those ones than compared to the first chapters where it is a

(02:57):
little bit more in depth of inner work, if you know what I
mean. And I also have to say I am in
my inner spring season as a cyclic woman, which means I am
motivated, I've got the energy and it was just flowing out of
Maine. So I was using that really good

(03:19):
energy, that pleasure energy to infuse my book with more of that
pleasure energy in that playful exploration chapter.
Now the next step is self editing.
And it is already starting that my little perfectionism is going
to kick in because now it's about, oh, how am I going to
like really fine tune this, thatthis is going to be epic.

(03:44):
And this is going to be the partthat is probably a hard part in
regards to where do you actuallydraw the line of like, this is
now enough and then you're goingto pass it on to the
professional editing. So I'm going to give myself one
to two rounds of self editing because I know if I'm going to
stick around longer, I will not let it out of my hands and I
will be just over focus on everything.

(04:07):
So I need to just go 1-2 rounds of speaking it out loud and then
pass it on to the professional editors so they can create their
magic. I've already talked to a book
designer as well, book cover designer and a book format as
well. It's all coming together and I
am so excited. Like I am so pleasurely from the

(04:30):
inside out about this book. It's going to be your self help
guide and toolkit for pleasure, but also mine because we know
how life is. There's going to be a challenge
just around the corner and knowing that I've got this
available and accessible that can help me to step back into my

(04:54):
pleasure itself and knowing thatit's going to transform so many
other people lives is going. It's just an amazing feeling.
A few learning lessons in regards to writing a book, It is
actually helpful to have a little bit of a timeline to have
that challenge because it kind of pushes you to really sit down

(05:16):
and get it done and do it. But also waste the flexibility
of knowing I'm going to write for the next 30 days as best as
I can, but also take in the timeto actually work through it.
So I believe the challenge as such is a great idea.
If you take away the focus, it needs to be completed in the 30

(05:39):
days. But rather I'm going to give it
my best for 30 days, see where I'm at, and then go from there.
Because if you just leave it allloose end, you're probably not
going to invest as much time andeffort into it.
And then it can drag out and outand out.
And then it could be a year by and you still haven't written
that first draft. So writing that first draft is
actually super important. It's also interesting.

(06:00):
It is 43, forty 3300 words I've written.
It's about 190 pages. That's where I'm currently at
with my first draft. And I said a book between like
150 to 200 pages and around the 40 to 50,000 words would be a
great non fiction book. Here we are.

(06:20):
I just loved how I had this vision of it, created the book
outline, filled it in, wrote it and it actually offered I'm
getting goosebumps and it I lovethis feeling.
I'm getting goosebumps. Oh, this is so good.

(06:41):
Using all your senses to really feel into it and stepping into
that body space. You're going to have a lot of
that in my book as well. Just seeing it all come
together, it's just an amazing feeling.
So if you have been thinking about writing a book, this is
your sign. Get started now.
Set yourself a challenge of likethe next 30 days.

(07:03):
I'm going to give it my best andthen really prioritize it.
Do it, write it. Because if you've been thinking
about it for a long time, that means you definitely have a
story to tell and it's not goingto happen if you are not taking
any action. So take this as your sign to get
started. Assume there are going to be a

(07:24):
few more challenges in self-publishing because I also
have to figure out how to actually get it all out and
launched. And then obviously also promote
a marketing. There's so much more behind it
than just writing a book. Similar when I did my personal
trainer, you know, being you become a pleasure educator.
It's not just about the knowledge of the actual topic of

(07:47):
knowing your fitness, but also everything around it and behind
the scenes. There's always so much more
involved and in content creationas well, so much more work
around it involved because you can have the best content, but
if no one knows about it, you don't have an audience, well
then there's no one there to actually look at your content.

(08:10):
I will keep you posted. You have a pleasure that day
with love and pleasure.
