real estate. We work hard,we stage hard, and we get it
(00:24):
done the power of we. Goodmorning, Good morning. How are you
(00:45):
today? I am great? Howare you today? Oh my god,
I'm so excited. Life is atfull circle, full circle. I feel
like everything is though. You know, it's you know, we do a
lot of giving back in organizations, and you know one of the organizations we
give back she is the Buddha bullying. You know when kids get bullied and
it's so crazy the stories, butneed I mean we live them, right,
(01:10):
Yeah, we live them. Youlive them, and you know a
lot of people we know live them. And you know they're having their big
October Halloween thing and we're doing thestaging for it. So I'm so excited
about that. So it's important duringthe holidays we give back, right,
we don't just think of about ourselves. It's coming up, it's October,
(01:33):
it's already like October. What it'spast my birthday around thirteenth, which is
I'm forty five again fifty No,I'm not stop saying I'm fifty five to
the world. But I look hot. Yes, you do, good job.
So I'm so excited about today becauseyou know, life is crazy.
Yeah, you know, you neverknow. I mean one of our special
(01:56):
guests that we're having on Like,I watched her grow up. She was
this little girl, she hung outwith you. You know, I was
best friends with her mom. Iwas crazy wild, drinking all over the
place. And you know, lifejust got life y right now. And
you never know how people change andgrow up and become. And we are
(02:22):
super lucky because she is here today. Why don't you talk about her today?
We get the amazing opportunity to haveAmanda Williams, who is a multifaceted
individual hailing from the vibrant city ofla As a model and social media influencer,
she has mastered the art of capturingattention and creating a lasting impact.
Alongside her thriving career, Amanda ispassionately pursuing her real estate license to diversify
(02:47):
her personal portfolio. Let's welcome Amanda, thank you for having Thank you.
I'm so happy to be here tothank you. Says you appreciate that my
birthday, I know we celebrated alot of birthday. I mean, I
(03:08):
just want to dive right in,how the hell did you get so many
damn followers? I can't stand theInstagram? How did you do? A
girl? I feel like it hasdefinitely grown over the years. I definitely
started when I was early teenager, like thirteen fourteen, I was posting a
social media a lot, hanging outa lot of other influencers that had a
(03:29):
lot of influence on that. SoI felt that that's how it really impacted
my growth on social media. Soyou actually kind of treated it like a
job in a way. I mean, modeling is a business. It is
my own business. It's a wayto brand yourself. Yeah, I mean
you've done a great job doing that. You're still working on it. I
always knew you wanted to be amodel. I mean, we grew up
together, and your mom definitely droveme crazy going she has to be a
(03:53):
model, she has to be yeseveryone, And you didn't even want to
do it at first. So whatmade you want to like get into it.
I feel like I I always hadpeople telling me you should get into
modeling, Oh you have this look, get into acting, But I never
took it seriously as a teenager, just because I was living life and you
were really into dance, right.Yeah. There were a lot of influences
(04:13):
as far as us graduating high schooland going off to college. I feel
like everyone was like, I'm goinghere, I'm going there. So I
never really took initiative to focus onmodeling. I really took it more seriously
after graduating high school, but itwas always in the back of my mind
that I wanted to get involved inthe industry. So I'm happy because I'm
working now. Yeah that's yeah,it's amazing. So I feel like a
lot of people think that they can'tThey have this like idea in their mind
(04:39):
they can't really go to college. They should go to college and they shouldn't
like go into modeling or acting orsomething like that. But what do you
think about that. I think youcan do both. You can go to
school and pursue any career you want. However, I chose not to take
the school path. I don't thinkschool is for everyone necessarily. You know,
A hundred path to go to schoolto bec successful. I feel like
(05:00):
there's other ways for you to besuccessful, right, However, I think
it's just a matter of opinion.I chose not to just because I wanted
to focus on modeling, right,I want to give my altiate. I
was worried if I went to school, I wouldn't have as much time finishing
getting my degree and trying to traveland take on other opportunities because modeling isn't
(05:21):
a fixed schedule. It happens justwhen your agent calls you, Hey,
I have a job for you. You're booked. So I just want every
opportunity I can take. Yeah,And I feel like that's so important because
a lot of people need to hearthat, right. And you know,
I mean growing up in Calabasas, like you guys did, it wasn't easy
in Calabasas. You know, Imean, I personally can move to Calabasas
(05:46):
because I thought, oh, theschools are so great, it's going to
be so easy for the kids, right, And I mean you came to
me crying at like I don't evenfour years old. Yeah, and it's
so glamorized, like everyone thinks calibbubblesYeah, it's a bubble. I feel
how to that? How did thatshape you? How did that make you?
You have to be super strong tobe in modeling. You have to,
I mean, because you can neverbe skinny enough, pretty enough,
(06:10):
gorgeous enough. So what what didyou learn growing up to make you who
you are today? I think Ihad to be comfortable growing into my own
skin because growing up in Calabasas Ididn't have a lot of other black friends,
but I had a lot of girlfriendswho did love me made me feel
beautiful Nicole, for example. Ittook a while for me to get comfortable
with myself, but ultimately, Ithink the haters and the bullies just made
(06:34):
me more confident at the end ofthe day. And thank God for your
mother, she was a ball bust. Here was there for you right for
sure? No, you guys bothlucky for sure. But I'm happy we
came out the other end of itbecause some people are still stuck in that
bubble. I feel like we've grownout of that. We have different friend
groups, we've explored outside of justCalabasas, so and you've explored the world.
(07:00):
That's a totally different ballgame. Soyou didn't only just explore California.
But I see you traveling all overthe world, and how does that?
How do you find that I enjoytraveling. You learn a lot, you
become more wise when you travel,You meet different people, you explore different
cultures, experience different things. Ifeel like it helps me feel more comfortable
(07:23):
just learning more about myself in thatway. I haven't gone to Europe yet.
I feel like I learned way moregoing to Europe. It was a
different way. I'm ready for that, So bring it on. What was
your favorite place you've been? Africa? Really? I remember when you went
in the bucket list. I alsohad a job there, so not only
did I get to go work, but I got to go to a bucketless
(07:46):
place. What is I just wantto know, because I know a lot
of people aspire to be models, influencers and all that. What would you
say to our listeners that are strugglingand they really want to be that model,
that influencer. What would you sayto them keep pushing because any opportunity
you get is an opportunity to getto where you need to be. I've
(08:09):
wanted to give up a million times. Also, with social media, it's
hard not to compare yourself and actlike you aren't doing the best you can.
I feel like nowadays everyone's posting whatthey're doing, where they're at,
like how far they've accomplished things, goals, and I have to just pat
myself on the back and be proudof what I've done so far. So
(08:30):
I would say to everyone, giveyourself credit, keep trying. You never
know what's going to happen. Honestly, That's what I would say. That's
great, so true. And doyou give back to organizations, communities?
Do you help other young models?I do? I do. I want
(08:50):
to get more involved in women's organizationsfor sure, because I definitely support women.
Well, that's going to be greatwhen you get into real estate because
you're you know, I'm on theboard of Real Women in real estate.
You do a lot of a womenorganization. So it's it's a real estate
organization. People that are realtors, title you know, stagers, designers.
(09:13):
Everyone gets together and basically comes togetherand networks and because it's really important in
you're gonna take your career and bringit in and and and that's gonna teach
you so much, right and itcan help others like you know, we
have a girl that works for usthat was a model and she's an incredible
stager. Bianca shout out and sometimessitting here and I'm like, are you
(09:39):
modeling behind my back? But Ifeel like it stop popping up. But
that's cool that you can do otherthings, Like modeling is your own business,
but I think you need to expandthings, and of course business dedication
in itself. Sure you can domore things. It's all about dedication,
hard work, persistence, structure andsure structure is so important. You know,
(10:05):
how did you learn? Because wewere talking about in our last episode,
how like our generation? What Isee a lot is like a lot
of them don't work hard and theykind of just expect like they'm an entitlement.
They expect things to come. Whattaught you to like be hard working
and driven? I want to shoutout my parents. I think they work
so hard to give me the lifethat I live. I think that if
(10:26):
I didn't have them to put thefire under my butt, then I probably
would be one of those kids thatis just like can I have everything handed
to me? I do believe thatyou have to get out there the next
person next to you who's trying reallyhard is going to get the opportunity if
you're not chasing the opportunity. Soit's just important. You gotta It's like
(10:46):
a mindset. Yeah, and you'rein a big city too. But I'm
so excited to hear you. Mygod, that's making me cry. I
saw you as a young little thing, and you know, I know your
mom so hard for you and Johnnyfor sure. And I'm happy to be
here a circle, full circle, because I didn't want to be here,
(11:07):
you know, for a while.I'm happy I've grown into this person,
this young woman. I feel beautiful, i feel confident, i feel ambitious,
and I'm excited to honestly take thisnext chapter in my life. So
I'm happy to be here. Andlisteners, do you hear that? That's
a very hard thing to say,you know, Amanda's not always felt like
that. She just said it.Say it again still to this day,
(11:30):
though, I don't think we allare where we really want to be.
But as long as you keep studyingon track, you will get to where
you want to be. Person whereI am now again, I'm confident,
I'm beautiful, I'm ambitious. Thereyou go. It's funny, yea going
on. So yeah, so that'swhy it's like, you know, we
like to have all different kinds ofguests on and you know, you're one
(11:52):
of our younger millennials, if youwill, And it's it's so cool to
see people that you know are tryingand doing and you know you've made it.
You're making it so you can showpeople it's even though it's hard,
you're still doing. You know whatI'm saying, anything's possible. I want
(12:15):
to hear more about the modeling industry. I don't know a lot about it.
I honestly like, what tell usa girl? I'm still today,
Like right now, I'm trying tofind a new representation in LA Actually at
the moment, I just left myagency back in June. I feel like
there's so much more opportunity out there. And yes, I am working,
but I think I could be workingmore. So I want a team that
(12:35):
will push for me as hard asI'm pushing for myself, right because I
just don't think I was pushed tothe best of my abilities with my last
representation. But now you're ready, right, so you got away prepared.
Everything happened eleven twenty three, Hi, Dad, everything happens for a reason.
You were not ready before. Nowyou're ready. You're saying it to
(12:56):
the universe. Yes, right, you're telling the universe I want a team.
And that's exactly what I did whenI started my stage in coming.
You watch me grow, You're you'relike the top one percent, Babe,
You're killing it. I'm gonna outof emotional time, It's true. But
that's to say too that I feellike sometimes when you put a lot of
pressure on yourself, you're sending outthis depending on where your mindset is all
(13:22):
mindset, but depending where you're at. I feel that I kind of was
putting a negative like impact on ita little bit because I'm so stressed out
about it. But and they getyou where nowhere Nowhere. Stressing gets you
absolutely nowhere. What gets you somewhereif you just take action exactly. And
(13:43):
it's hard because I feel like,I don't know, when you're younger,
at least you kind of stress outabout things. And I feel like that's
like almost like an adult mindset.I feel like I learned that like recently
for three years, like learning tonot stress about things and just take the
next right action because it's gonna getyou there right, and it's ultimately just
the law of the try. Ifeel like what you put out there is
going to come to you. SoI've really just taken a second to be
(14:03):
like, Okay, look, I'mrepresented in Miami and Chicago. I want
representation out here because I live here, but I want to work more and
I hope things work out in themeantime. I'm going to study real estate,
take this exam, like this iswhat I want to act. So
I'm just focused on other passions thatI have and I feel like now everything's
coming together. I booked a jobin Chicago at the end of the month,
(14:26):
amazing, thank you a jewelry company. So I did a jewey shoot
last weekend. You were I'm excited. I've never been to Chicago and I
get to finally meet my agents inperson because I've only met them on zoom
and talked on the phone. Sothis will be a good opportunity for me.
And I think, like I said, if you just let things happen
(14:48):
and take action towards your goals,it will all fall in place. And
you know what, one of thethings that is, I like that you're
already looking at your next career becauseyou're going to continue to do modeling,
right, But yeah, this isthe real estate world, and this is
what I say to you and toeveryone else. Use what you have to
your advantages, like you know, join organizations, join women in organizations,
(15:13):
join you know, African American organizations, join all kinds, and be a
leader and use your you know, you're modeling to help you talk to people.
And you have, like you've builta big network that a lot of
people don't get to tap into. And it's like that's models, you know,
(15:35):
that's known for people who have likemore money. So in the real
estate world, you can you canleverage that those people to connect with us.
In fact, we had a realtoron recently and he really connected with
his you know, following, andI see him now he's doing all these
events and he's connecting with his followingand really really growing smart and it's a
(15:58):
really great way to a networking brand. Yeah. So I mean even our
listeners, I mean, what you'redoing, don't just stifle yourself and keep
it to one area. Broaden yourhorizons, yep, because you never know
what life brings. So there's alot of people, especially our who want
to become influencers. I feel likethat's like right now, like a main
(16:18):
goal for people, Like I wantto be an influencer. Yeah, how
do people get there? I don'teven understand it, to be honest with
you, Like how do you breakthat point of like, Okay, I
have a thousand followers and I havea million or whatever it is, Like
I honestly think it. Unfortunately, sometimes there are clients that are like what
is your following count? But Isee other influencers TikTok Instagram who have ten
(16:40):
k if that and they're killing it. They just post things. If you're
doing videos for brands, it reallyhelps get their image out there as well
as for the brandy. So Ifeel like you could, honestly, anyone
could be influencer. Like you said, like a lot of people are trying
to get into it. But Ithink if you just have the mindset of
trying to target an audience, youcan be an influence. I like that
(17:03):
you're targeting an audience. And doyou get paid to post? Yeah?
You do, depending on how muchyou produce and how like the quality of
your content is, like you willbe paid for and you're a model,
plus you're for sure. Yea grammar, so it's yeah, you get probably
(17:25):
it's good money. It's good money. That's great. I mean, that's
you know. But I mean Ifeel like people out there today they just
think, oh, I want tobe Instagram famous, but they have to
worry about their career as well, you know, So what would you say
to people that are just focused onthat. I think you should broaden your
(17:47):
horizons as far as what you wantto do outside of just influencing, because
I think it can it can goboth ways, where you can make so
much money and do really well influencing, but I also think you should have
other things you want to be passedand you, like you said, not
make a lot of money for sure. So you got to bring it all
together because if you only have tooffer, what you only have to offer
(18:08):
is just influencing. I don't thinkit's enough. People want to connect to
you. They don't want to justsee a pretty face or whatever the case
is. They want to see thatyou're involved in other things, like you
were saying, and it's important thatwe are influencing positivity in this world,
you know, and much so muchnegative or you know, bad shaming bodies
(18:30):
or whatever, Like, you know, if you're an influencer, really really
I urge you guys to make surethat you're doing everything to make the world
better. That's what we need. You know what I'm saying, Because your
kids, I mean, I knowwhat you guys. I know, I'm
scared. Kids are really scared throughmore because everyone's on the phone now.
(18:51):
I mean, I try and pushstay off the phone, talk to people,
look in people's eyes, connect withpeople, pick up the phone.
That's my biggest line when I'm teaching, and and you know, and I
love that though, because I feellike we get lost in our phones now,
so it's important to be president. It's funny because my dad used to
always say to Nicole and Brandon,we're at dinner, you can't have your
(19:15):
phones, and like five and sixit gonna be house. Yeah, It's
like it's so important because you cannotconnect with people. You can't. I
feel like now that I've gotten older, like I look forward to the time
after work where I just you're notmy phone away. I'll like leave it
at home when I go to thegym or yeah, and now she's like,
I'm gonna turn off my phone thisweekend. I'm like, so does
that mean I have to answer thedamn phone weekend? You just need that
(19:38):
like break because for me, likeyou're running a company, like my phone
is always blowing up, like ifit's reps, if it's clients, whatever
it is, it's always non stop. So you don't have a break,
like thinking, Yeah, and youknow her and her downtime. Yeah,
yeah, I need sleep. Whenat eight o'clock in the morning, nicoy
you awake, She's like, Mom, it's sad. It's so important that
(20:00):
you get rest. It ultimately setsyou up to be successful person. True,
it's sure you're like that too.You need I need sleep, not
me. I can's the word.I know when you used to sleep over,
I'd be like, girls, let'sget up. I made breakfast,
and you're like ten eleven. Butyou knew when you came to Samantha's house,
(20:25):
it was like, oh no,it's just gonna wake up the morning
person at your house. Yeah,it's so funny. So where do you
see what? What do you wantto do with real estate? Do you
want to just do you want todo residential? Do you want to do
commercial? Do you want to buyerside? Seller side? I've thought about both.
I was thinking commercial, but I'mvery interested in home so residential.
(20:48):
I want to be involved in thatand I want people to buy. So
I've been talking to some of myreal estate friends and they actually said,
right now, a lot of peopleare rent because interest rate is so high.
So obviously that changes. You getthem, but you get paid on
it. But a lot of alot of the agents I know like that
are like our age, a littlebit older. They always start with the
(21:11):
renters. Yeah, that's like agreat place to start and make commission on
this. Yeah. I looked ata house yesterday. It was sixty thousand
dollars a month to leave. That'sso la crazy crazy. And most of
our leases are like between twenty andsixty thousand. That's why. So if
you're representing them, you can haveus come in and stage it. Yes,
love always selling, That's what Ido. So yeah, So I
(21:36):
mean there's so much and it's excitingfor you to come in because you can
come to all the networking. Yeah, and how I want to also come
see you guys stage things and yeah, I want to just be part of
every team and opportunity because I feellike I honestly am so proud of you
guys. From where you guys areat right now, you guys have grown,
your company has expanded, Like Sam, you're killing it. And Nicole,
(21:59):
I'm so proud of you. We'retaking on this too, and I'm
excited to see like the journey foryou. Is it weird to see Nicole,
I mean, you guys played togetheras babies change so much like this,
Well you're grown girl, You're likeyou're yeah, you're grown, not
fifty push it is. Don't getcarried away sometime. No, yes,
(22:22):
but I do feel that because Iwe're just like connecting again after what like,
well, I feel like we've beenYeah, we're following each other,
but now it goes through their ownYeah, like life just happens. Life
gets lifey and like we talked aboutin the beginning of this. But I
just I'm so proud of you.Me and my mom would always be like,
(22:42):
do Nicole's killing it, Nicole's gonnatake over this, Like we're proud
of you to see where you're at. You're doing it, and I feel
like it takes a lot of hardwork and like I've been through my own
like challenges and stuff like that, and I feel like that's the only reason
I was able to come out theother side and be able to be this
person. Yeah, you feel likethose challenges has helped you get to the
(23:02):
next level. Yeah, I feellike there's a lot of things I've been
through that some people, which I'vetalked about on here, would be like,
oh, I would never wish thatupon anyone. But for me,
like, the things I've been throughmade me who I am today, and
I don't like, I wouldn't changeanything, honestly. That's that shit hit
hard for me. I mean thathit home for I know it's crazy,
but you know, I mean it'strue. That's that's so important, Like
(23:26):
things happen to us, right,And I want people to know one thing,
don't hold a grudge. That's theworst thing you do. And I
never do that. There's what Imean. There's a lot of bad things
about me, No, but theone thing I don't do is hold a
grudge. People can leave, theycan do whatever, and then I'm like,
you know what, it's their lifemeant to be the person It hurts
(23:51):
yourself, and we don't know howlong we have on this planet exactly,
like anything can happen anytime. Anyday. So it's so exciting to have
you guys on here. I mean, it's like my babies are here,
so weird, and I can't believethat since I'm only turned just forty five.
Yes, every day I changed myage. I'm still young and thriving.
(24:15):
So well, we would love foryou to come and do Oh wait,
hold on, let's talk about Mason. So our store is starting to
kill it. Yay. We wejust did a I did a little shoot
of dash Sticky. Remind me totell you whose house we did. You're
gonna I can't say it on here, but I'll tell you often. That's
pretty cool and okay, so wedefinitely want to get you on and do
(24:37):
some photos on our furniture, sothat will be fun. We'll get you
and Nicole to do some fun stuffso that will be great. And then
we are also doing Modern Day Wife, which is a big Instagram thing that
you can be our favor that. It's literally like an influencer event. I
never don't know much about it,but we stayed stage it. Yes,
(25:00):
it's all about women. Yeah, you need to be at that if you
can come with us. Yeah,I feel comfortable with you guys and we
do. You know, it's allabout yeah speaking speaking about Elite, Yes,
yes, so I would love tobe there. Yeah. They have
all these like pop up things, take pictures and all that kind of stuff.
(25:22):
Okay, cool, cool and thingive out these like so we're we're
having a booth at Modern Day Wifeand we're going to for Elite Mason you
can buy you know, accessories anddifferent things that are booths and get to
know our store online. It's beautiful. Our store is doing so well.
I'm so excited about it. Andyou know, that influencer event is amazing
(25:45):
and I think that that would bea great thing for you to come to
and start seeing and like, youknow, talk about your real estate besides
your model and you know, takethe next step. So that's why we're
here to help people grow. AndI'm so excited that on today. Yeah,
love you you so beautiful. Wait, so how is the furniture store
(26:08):
going? Then? Online, itis starting to really happen. We've gotten
a lot of big sales. Youknow, what I think is the best
part of it is that we're astaging company. So if you don't know
what to buy, so they dmus and Dasha has been the ambassador.
She's been helping them design their livingrooms, their bedrooms, their dining rooms,
(26:30):
and so they're not just buying oneproduct, they're getting the whole thing.
Is it a virtual digital thing thatyou design to show people what?
So what you can do is youcan on online you can say I would
like a virtual design consultation. Consultation. Yeah, it's like a virtual design
meeting. So instead of like meetinga person, you can schedule an hour
(26:52):
with her or one of our otherdesigners and they can give you advice,
like do a FaceTime look at theroom and tell you like, okay,
so we should put a sofa there, like let's floors, We're gonna put
like a and then show you optionsfrom the site. That's awesome and that
helps because when you're on the sites, it's like, okay, do I
like this that fit? Would thatlook? There might be a lot And
we had a very challenging area yesterdayin this house. It was very small
(27:15):
living room, like the size ofa dining room the living room, and
so we put in a couch anda chair and a coffee table and it's
fit perfectly. Oh my god,I'm so excited for the client. To
yelp us about to see you havepictures. Yeah, it's just it's just
one step further than being a CBtwo store. There's someone to help you
(27:36):
design because most people don't have thetime, they don't even know, they
don't even have the aye, right, and then that's where you guys come
in. Yeah. So it's beenreally exciting. And then we are for
you back to the Midnight Mission theBattered Women's Shelter, so it's sent into
the proceeds will go to them.Yeah. So I'm actually you know,
in December, I write a checkto them, and that's really exciting.
