Speaker 1 (00:34):
All right, everybody, this is actually all right. We're gonna
we're gonna start so quiet on the set three two one. Hey, everybody,
this is the film Reel right here on the Recess
Bell Network. My name is Justin joining me special guest,
the lovely Stacey. And he are two kids, well two
of our kids, Henry and Nick. Are you boys excited? Yeah,
that's all that's all the energy you have. No, No, Stacy,
(01:00):
is this gonna go well?
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Uh? Probably not.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Well. I think we're we're experimenting with the filmmare we're
gonna try something new. We got to get to a
younger demographic. So we're gonna start off, boys with some
simple questions and then Stacy, you're more than welcome to
also join as well. So let's start off. Let's start
off with eating food, because I'm sure you guys love
eating snacks and fattening food and McDonald's perhaps, But if
(01:26):
you can only eat one food for the rest of
your life, what would that food be? It would bembo gumbo.
What I know you guys have the Louisiana roots, is
that do you? I mean, I'm so shocked. I've never
even heard of a kid saying the word gumbo, let
alone being the favorite food. I don't even know what
(01:48):
gumbo is. What is gumbo?
Speaker 3 (01:50):
It's like it's like a soup.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
It's like a soup. That's right.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
Well, what's in it? Like just just whatever you want?
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Yeah, I mean it's a mixture of stuff. It's a
Louisiana food.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Yeah, it has like potato, I think.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Just potato, and it is their favorite. But they have
no idea what's in it. It is a bunch of veggies.
Did y'all know there was a lot of veggies in it?
Speaker 1 (02:09):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Yeah, Yeah. You make a root and then you add
veggies into it, and then you add chicken and sausage,
and you can add seafood and you put it over rice.
It's yum.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
And where do you get this gumbo? I'm assuming this
is homemade from Stacey or your mom. Rather, no, you
go to a restaurant.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
I mean, Mimi makes it, but then I make Mimi's recipe.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Yeah, but meme, he's better than you. WHOA.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
That's on the record, folks, We have that forever in
the eternity of the internet.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Now, guess who's never getting gumbo again from his mom?
Speaker 1 (02:45):
Whoooo? Now you can't. You can't get gumbo at a
movie theater, at least not yet. But is there one
food that you guys need to have when you're going
to the movie theater? Is it popcorn? Is it candy?
What is the one thing you want?
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Oh? I know I won't go though, gm.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
What about you, Henry? What's the one food you need
when you're going to the movie theater?
Speaker 3 (03:13):
Popcorn? I on my Dolleys Trolley's basically like wormies worm Oh.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. What about you, Stacy? What's
your go to popcorn? Popcorn?
Speaker 2 (03:30):
I have to have the popcorn butter it yes, extra butter.
Once I took them to a movie at nine am
when I saw Wicked. We went really early. I don't
remember why we had to go early, you don't know,
but I was like, I'm still having popcorn. I remember that.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Yeah, yeah, I personally like to get the popcorn. But
I put candy in the popcorn, like a chocolate candy
that it melts and you get to eat melted chocolate
mixed with the salt healthiness of the popcorns. That is
the best.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
How do you melt the chocolate at the movie the it's.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Just hot enough, you know, if you get a hot popcorn,
it's automatically gonna melt, depending on which you know, Bunch
of Crunch would be the one. Eminem's a little harder
because it's got the hard outer shell, so it takes
a while for it to melt. But bunch of Crunch
pretty quickly melts a little bit, but not like so
you got dirty, you know, melted chocolate hands the entire time.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
I actually did that launch at my birthday party, remember that, mom,
Like where we put like the sour patch kids.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
And like, yeah, mix that with popcorn.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
Yeah, we put that in popcorn. I did that. I
did that, amc.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
It's always good to experiment with food. You never know
you might find the newest, greatest creation and existence. So
I want to talk briefly before we get into some
more movie talk and movie theater talk. I know you
guys are big into video games, and I was just
telling you that they just announced the switch To is
going to be coming out this summer from Nintendo. I'm
(05:00):
sure your mom is very excited about that.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Because you know he told that earlier.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Yeah, off the air. Now we're on the air. So
now this console is going to be four hundred and
fifty bucks and then each game is going to cost
I read eighty bucks with the digital game and then
ninety bucks for an actual physical copy. So they've upped
the price thirty dollars for this newest console of the
(05:29):
switch To. But it looks fun. They got a new
Mario Kart, They have a new Donkey Kong game coming out. Now.
I know you boys love the Nintendo console that you
have right now, what is the one game that you
guys love playing the most? I know, let's hear it.
Mario Kart. Who's your go to driver in Mario Kart?
Speaker 3 (05:50):
His go to I know it, let's hear it. He
for him. I made him like like one of those
you didn't like one of those.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Players, personalized player.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
Yeah, and it's Nick and his name is Nick so.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
And it looks does it look just like him?
Speaker 3 (06:09):
Yeah? And it's orange, because that's.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
The orange who is the best at Mario Kart in
the family. Me, You don't think it's me?
Speaker 3 (06:20):
No, you're mad?
Speaker 1 (06:23):
Do you play with them?
Speaker 2 (06:24):
The games sometimes? But I didn't know what I was
doing for a really long time, and I finally figured
it out and I got like slightly better.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
Right.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Well, now they got a new one coming out with
I think up to twenty four players at one time,
and it's like a free roaming Mario Kard game and
it's very extravagant. But ninety dollars for a video game
is insane. But you know, these games cost a lot
to make, so I understand why they're charging so much
money to play them. And same thing with movies these days,
(06:54):
movies cost more and more to make, and now the
ticket prices for a movie is very, very very expensive. Unfortunately,
at least I have you have ninety dollars.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
He has like three hundred dollars.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
From what what is he doing? You working? You're putting
him to work, He's doing chores?
Speaker 2 (07:10):
He baby sits.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
He does more chores than me. Really, I got I
got like half my money from birthday money.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
What are the chores that your parents make you do?
Clean in garbage? What do you guys have to do?
Clean your room?
Speaker 3 (07:24):
Yeah? We clean our room in the playroom. Yeah, I
can make the table. I can make the table.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
So let's uh, let's let's go back to some movie
talk before during the you know, off the mic segment, Nick,
we were talking about Home Alone and we mentioned how
we love that franchise, and you guys say you're a
Home Alone family. Me and Stacy your mom have talked
about Home Alone on this podcast before. We both love
(07:50):
the original movie. What would you say is your favorite?
I'll start with you, Nick, What is your favorite in
the Home Alone franchise?
Speaker 3 (07:57):
Haven't I told you? Three?
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Three?
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Home Alone three is your favorite?
Speaker 3 (08:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (08:04):
That is probably the hottest take that has ever been
uttered on the film real podcast.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
I cannot support that.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
I don't understand how you could possibly think that that's
not even a Christmas movie. There's no Christmas in Home
Alone three.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
Ye.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
It was baffling, But you had a specific reason that
you liked Home Alone three that when you told it
to me. I was like, Okay, that starts to make
a little bit of sense. What was it do you remember?
Speaker 3 (08:26):
Yeah, it was the one where they tricked a he
tricked them.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
With the car. Yeah, he liked that they had the
remote control car throughout basically the entire movie.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
Yes, it's pretty much an advertisement a A you know,
a toy commercial for kids. I guess just you looking
at that RC car. Do kids even do RC cars anymore? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (08:48):
But it's I mean yeah, but like they're getting less popular.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
Yeah. I feel like toys in general really aren't popular
with kids. They're they're mostly on iPads or playing video games.
I mean, kids aren't getting action figures anymore. Are you
guys playing with like Transformers or superhero toys? Is that
something that you guys are doing at all?
Speaker 3 (09:09):
I'm playing with Legos and nine tiles.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
I prefer like building stuff the legos.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Legos are great. I mean, they have very expensive and
intricate Lego sets for adults, so it's something that you
could do. Kids of all ages could pretty much play
with Legos. It's a one of those timeless activities.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
Yeah, but you're right, they don't they don't actually play
with action figures.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
Color. We color a little bit too. I mean I
do I do play with like arming them once in
a while. You do that?
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Yeah? We create stories and whatnot. Huh, that's always fun. Henry,
did you have a favorite as far as your Home Alone?
What was your what would be your favorite Home Alone movie?
Speaker 3 (09:55):
It's either one or two? But I have to say
to to.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
What, Stacy? These are your kids and and they're given
terrible Home Alone answers? What?
Speaker 3 (10:07):
But why? How is that?
Speaker 2 (10:09):
How is that? Okay? I think I know why you
like Home Alone?
Speaker 3 (10:12):
Two? Why is it because it's just a lot more
like action?
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Yes, you're gonna say because it took place in New
York City?
Speaker 3 (10:22):
Again, I think also because the New York's most exciting
hotel experience, the Plaza Hotel.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
All right, let's move on to some more discussions. Let's
let's talk about some animated movies. Do you guys have
a favorite animated movie of all time? Is it something
from Pixar? Is it maybe Shrek? Is there one that
jumps out?
Speaker 3 (10:46):
Is?
Speaker 1 (10:46):
What's your favorite animated movie? We'll go with you, Henry,
You got a favorite animated movie of all time?
Speaker 3 (10:53):
You mean like the ones that aren't don't look like
real humans like they're they're like kind.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
Of well they have they have ones that are computer generated,
so something like uh, you know Toy Story or Wild Robot.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
Oh that that that type of anima.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Yes, yeah, any form of animation, anything that doesn't involve
a human being. What would you say it is a
wild robot?
Speaker 3 (11:18):
I think Goods, Super Mario Bros.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
Oh, which I thought it was fantastic. You guys saw
Wild Robot.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
Yeah, we saw that on Yeah, we saw that on
my birthday party.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Now I cried. I have no shame in saying I cried.
You guys, ever get like emotional while watching a movie
as far as tears go, movies could do that, even
the adults. I get emotional for sure. Let's just break
down the fourth wall. Niggas is making noises and Stacy's
going stop, what about you? Stacy? You got a favorite
(11:54):
animated movie of all time? Is it?
Speaker 3 (11:56):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (11:56):
The Little Mermaid?
Speaker 2 (11:58):
I used to love The Little Murmur, especially the scene
where she talked about all the different gadgets and mobs. Yeah,
because I loved what her interpretation of what they were.
She was using the fork to brush her hair. That
was actually one of my favorites I think was a
Little Mermaid. Recent movies. I really liked Wild Robot and
that kind of fits, you know, my love of nature.
(12:20):
But yeah, Wild Robot was cool.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
That was one of my favorites of last year. What
about you, Nick, you got a favorite cartoon, a favorite
animated movie.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
I don't really know what you mean by animated, Nick,
he means like the like Grizzly in the Lemonings, that
kind of that.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Basically, that's like a movie, not a show.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
Like a.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
Yeah, like Home Alone is is a live that's live
action that's real people, or something like The Lion King
is animated or Toy Story is animated.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
Yeah, I think, let me think.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
I'm starting to think we watched two any TV shows
and not enough movies.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
Well, what's the shows that you guys are watching now?
Speaker 2 (13:05):
I think I know Grizzly and the Lemmings are Grizzy
and the Lemmings.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
Yeah, what is that? Jerry, Tom and Jerry like the
old school Tom and Jerry.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
Well, no, it's not old school now.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
They modernize that.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
Yeah, Nick, Grizzly in Them is better.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
Tom and Jerry. Yeah, I've never heard of this.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
It's like a Grizzly and the Lemonings, and they always
fight about stuff. The Lemonings like like like doing Nick
stop doing the grizzly, like snapping and watching this lame
show about fish. And then the Lemoning is like dancing
to music and and and the and the Grizzly like
(13:48):
has a frying pan and like smashes the Lemonings.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
Always good with cartoon violence, always always fun. I hope
you guys don't replicate that at home. You guys aren't
actually doing the but the doing the same thing.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
I thought they're both fighting, right, we're doing We're doing
the same thing, but with pillows.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
Okay, that's always yeah.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
I'm putting a pillow on that belly and a belly bum.
That's actually true.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
We do do that you do as a matter of fact.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
Now, I want to talk about going to the movies.
I know you guys have gone to the movies, Stacey.
You were just talking about Wicked earlier, and I know
you guys have gone to several movies over the past
couple of years. Would you rather go to the movie
theater and watch a movie or be at home on
your couch and watch it at home?
Speaker 3 (14:34):
I think I will go to the movies.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
You enjoy going to the movies.
Speaker 3 (14:37):
It popcorny and my favorite stuff.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
So you like the whole atmosphere there with the candy
and the snacks and all that stuff, good stuff. You
like the good stuff. What about you, mister Henry?
Speaker 2 (14:52):
Home or movie theater?
Speaker 3 (14:54):
Home?
Speaker 1 (14:55):
Home?
Speaker 3 (14:55):
Because then you can lie on your couch and like
relax and like you know what I mean, and you
can get all the movie theater perks at your house.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
I don't take them to the movie theaters where you
can recline and scene.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Oh you don't not yet. Yeah, they got really nice
theaters nowadays, where it's you know, nice leather reclining seats.
But I like, you know, watching stuff at home because
you can always pause it if you have to use
the restroom, and you are at the comfort at your
own home. So I could see both ways for sure, Stacy.
(15:28):
As far as being a parent and bringing the kids
to the movie theaters, I'm sure that could be a
little stressful at times. So is the theater experience better
or worse for you?
Speaker 2 (15:40):
These two are old enough that it's fun to take
them to the movie theater. I mean, we don't like
we don't go. I try not to go and it's
going to be super crowded, or we go to some
of the smaller theaters around town. But I think it's
fun to take you out of the movie. But we
also do like movie nights on Friday nights. So yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
Let's talk about Super Mario Brothers because you mentioned that
that's one of your favorite movies, your favorite animated movie, Henry.
And there's been a lot of video game movies over
the years. Is there one video game that you would
like to see eventually become a movie.
Speaker 3 (16:15):
Zelda Tears the Hindo And.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
You know what, They actually just announced they are making
a Zelda movie.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
Wait what actually?
Speaker 1 (16:22):
And it's coming out in twenty twenty seven. What that's
not that far away. It's just two years. It's two
years away. That's nothing that twelve. No, you never get
over Zelda. I don't know how it's gonna be. It
is going to be live action, though, so it's not
gonna be animated like that Mario movie. So I'm hoping
(16:44):
it's good. I'm not really the biggest fan of the director,
but we'll see what it is. I'm sure it's gonna
make a boatload of money. What about the Mario movie
do you like? Do you like that the comedy? Do
you like the action? I thought it was a fantastic movie.
Was there something that you thought like, Oh, they did
that perfect? Did you like the voice acting? What was
(17:04):
it about that movie that you liked?
Speaker 3 (17:06):
I liked the part where they turn like greenbow Star. Yes,
like they like just keep on changing colors and I
feel like that's really cool. Yes, and how they turn
bowser really small with the with the mushroom mm hm.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
And then I hope you guys, I don't know if
you stayed after for the after the credits, they showed
an egg of Yoshi. They had Yoshi's egg showing up
at the end.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
I don't remember that. Do you remember that? Nope, we
have to go back and watch it.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
There's a post credits scene and what does it do?
It's just there and it's it's teasing. I guess the
next movie where Yoshi will be more of a featured player.
But I hope they bring all the Nintendo characters together
and they do like a super Smash Brothers. I don't
know if you guys have ever played that game. I
play it would be fun to have all those characters
(17:54):
interact and sort of do what Marvel has done with
their movies and bring all their characters together. I think
Nintendo can make a lot of money and make a
lot of people happy by having a you know, a
shared universe and create a super Smash Brothers uh movie. Now,
there is a movie coming out this week of this
recording Minecraft. I've never played Minecraft. I think that that's
(18:18):
more your generation, Henry.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
Minecraft is coming out this week this week. I really
want to watch that.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
You do want to watch it? So you've played the
game before as well?
Speaker 3 (18:26):
Yeah, I got the I got, I got. I have
a game of Minecraft. And it's like and like whenever
you see the marketplace on Minecraft, it's it's like on
I've seen the preview of the movie. It's like Steve
from the Minecraft movie.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
Yes, and it looks it looks fun, and I think
a lot of people your age are going to go
to the theaters this week and enjoy it.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
I will would with some Mau strategy. Battle League would
be a movie show. I'll be still happy.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
Battle League.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
Yeah, it's like it's like Mario. Like it's like it's
like Mario Luigi and other characters like, let me explain.
It's like it's like Mario Luigi, all those like classic
Mario players, Rosalina Yoshi all that Mario play and and
(19:23):
like and like and like and like they play soccer.
But you like it's basically a mix of American football
and soccer because you can like tackle people.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
Oh cool, and and and those.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
Like superpowers were like shells and stuff like that where
you like you hit people. And there's like rainbow flexis
one you get invisible. You can go try to squirkle
and personally, one of my favorite ones is Dodging Dodge.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
I will have to play this one. Is this one
on the switch?
Speaker 3 (19:52):
Yeah? It's on the switch.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
Yeah, And I love the switch that you could take
it anywhere. It's not a home console and it's not
a it's not just a home console. It's not just
a portable console. You could you know, plug it in
and play it on the TV if you have the
non switch light version.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
How do you talk about not? Mom? M? How about mom?
What is yeah?
Speaker 1 (20:14):
Now he's the interviewer, mom.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
Yes, what.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
Is one that you want?
Speaker 2 (20:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (20:21):
What would you like? What video game would you want
to become a movie?
Speaker 3 (20:25):
Well?
Speaker 2 (20:25):
Seeing that I don't play that many video games Pong.
The only video game that I've been super excited about
already is a movie, and that was the Hogwarts video game.
Oh so they were pretty surprised when I got a
video game for my birthday, which was Hogwarts.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
And were you able to play it? I know there
was some drama with not figuring out something.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
Still not figured it out? Still I I have not
tried very hard either, So we got to work on that.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
You know.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
I was playing a game a few weeks ago, guys
called powerwash simulator. I don't know if you've ever heard
of this or have seen it. Basically, you're just cleaning stuff.
You have a hose and you're just cleaning dirt off
of like parks and stuff like that.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
Oh I know that game. I seen it, like you know,
an ad.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
But it's fun.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
They don't need to do that on a video game.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
They could do that real life. Yeah. Yeah, Well they
have simulators for everything. Now. There's uh, you know games
where you could just farm and just it's like a
farming simulator.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
Yeah, they're gonna have eventually cleaning room simulator.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
Oh you know what game I like, Animal Crossing.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
That one's fun.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
That one of our first Remember that one.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
You haven't played that one in a while, Yeah, that
was one of our first floor.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
Have you guys done virtual reality like putting on the
thing over your head and with the eyes and seeing
like a three D thing?
Speaker 3 (21:40):
I mean I've done it, but like we don't have one.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
Yeah, my cousins, it's pretty crazy what they're able to do.
Now that's only going to.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
Get I wish, I wish I could add like an Xbox. Oh,
an Xbox is basically like a Nintendo Switch. All the
games on the Xboxes on the Nintendo Switch.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
I don't know if that's true.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
I know they are a lot of them are, for sure. Yeah,
but the switch is not as powerful as like a
PlayStation or an Xbox, so a lot of the uh,
graphics aren't the same. But I'm I'm personally a Nintendo guy.
I think those games are timeless, and I think they're
for not just kids, they're for adults as well. And
I love the Zelda series, the Mario series, Donkey Kong,
(22:21):
all that stuff that you can only get on Nintendo. Now, Henry,
I know you're big into reading, at least you were
when I was talking to your Mom a few weeks ago.
Is there anything that you're reading now?
Speaker 3 (22:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (22:34):
What are you reading?
Speaker 3 (22:35):
I'm reading a chapter book called Harry Potter.
Speaker 1 (22:39):
Harry Potter? Y. Oh have you seen the Harry Potter
movies yet?
Speaker 3 (22:44):
Yeah? But I'm about to finish it.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
You're about to finish the book or the movies?
Speaker 3 (22:50):
M both? Really?
Speaker 1 (22:51):
Oh, Stacy, you're big into the Harry Potter as well.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
Yes, that's one of the ones we've read together early.
Now we read now first counter. You're not there yet.
Speaker 3 (23:01):
I'm about to finish the seventh book.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
WHOA when did you start the seventh Book?
Speaker 3 (23:06):
I started it like a thousand years ago? Mom?
Speaker 1 (23:09):
Come on, mom? Now what about you? Mister Nick? Are
you reading anything? What is uh? Someone your age? You read?
How old are you? Anyways? Nick? I don't know if
I ever asked you though, seven? So what are seven
year olds reading? These days?
Speaker 3 (23:24):
Uh? I know, I think like probably like some people are.
Some of them are reading like chapter books. Some of
them are like are not these? Some people are class
do now read chapter books?
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Oh? Nick?
Speaker 3 (23:40):
You read The Magic treeout? I know, Henry, That's what
I was about to say. But some people read like
paragraphic books, like like on I ready.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
Yeah, you Nick have been reading graphic novels, right, Diary
of a Whimpy Kid.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
Oh, those are fun. And then they have dog Man
I believe was the name of one of them.
Speaker 3 (24:00):
I started reading one, but then but then it got lost,
and I don't know there's a dog Man movie.
Speaker 1 (24:04):
Now there is. I saw it.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
Actually coming out pretty soon.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
I saw it. It was in theaters. It should be
available to watch at home now I think it is.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
Yeah, I didn't see that one.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
It was good good. It was animated well and had
some good voice acting as well. Now I want to
talk about superheroes. I don't know if you boys are
into superheroes, but I'm gonna put out a hypothetical question
right here about who would win in a fight between
Batman and Spider Man. Oh, I know, let's hear it
from you first, neck. Who do you think? Let's hear
(24:37):
it easy, Who's winning it?
Speaker 3 (24:40):
Bra I think probably Spider Mom Spider Man.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
I think you're wrong personally, I think Batman. You give
Batman enough time to prepare for any fight. He could
beat any superhero or any What.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
If you used time up and rope and then jump
on him and then and then put spiders on him
and they're gonna I don't.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
Know if Spider Man does that to anybody, but I
could I see your point. Now, what about you, Henry
Batman versus Spider Man, who wins in a fight?
Speaker 3 (25:12):
I don't really know Batman that well, but I would
assume that Spider Man.
Speaker 1 (25:19):
Wow, Stacy, they're both picking spider Man.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
I've never been doing a whole lot of Batman.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
I've been obsessed with the Spider Man for like a lot.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
Is there one that are you watching any of the
movies because they have the into the Spider Verse movies
which are really fun? Have you seen those ones, the
animated ones with Miles Morales?
Speaker 2 (25:42):
You've seen those? Haven't you watched that a while ago? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (25:45):
I think I only watched like one of them.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
They have a second one, and then the third one's
coming out I think also in twenty twenty seven, so
everything is very far away, unfortunately, Stacy. Did you ever
read comic books as a kid or into any of
the superheroes. Nope, only the girly stuff.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
I mean, I like the Spider Man movies when they
came out.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
With Tilbren Maguire.
Speaker 2 (26:06):
Yeah, but and I felt the Spider Man movies are
a little friendly er. Yeah, like the Batman movies are
a little advanced.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
Well, there is, you know, a couple of Batman movies
which aren't as violent and as dark. Now, you, guys,
have you ever been scared from a movie? Is there something?
Because my niece, she's around your age, and she watches
a lot of things that could be scary, but then
she's scared of something like Eteth, which is a friendly character,
(26:35):
but she's terrified of that. Is there something that you've
watched that you just are terrified with, like dinosaurs from
Jurassic Park or anything that stands out that scares you.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
I remember one you were not a fan of Godzilla.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
Oh really, Yeah, you weren't a fan of the Godzilla.
Now he's big, he's scary, he's got a large teeth.
I can understand it.
Speaker 3 (26:59):
Only the first though.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
We turned that one off. Yeah, yeah, I thought that.
I thought they would be fine, but it was not,
so we turned it off.
Speaker 1 (27:05):
I think Jurassic Park might be a little too bad
as well.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
We haven't watched that one either. I don't think we
haven't watched You haven't watched that, have you?
Speaker 3 (27:11):
Yeah? I feel like I have watched one.
Speaker 1 (27:15):
Yeah, there's a lot of them there.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
We might have watched the first one a while ago.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
That's the scariest one in my think, I think, yeah, definitely.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
Remember what about the one where like this guy touched.
Speaker 1 (27:25):
The bone, touched the bone.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
Touched the bone, and then like he went into a thing.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
I'm not sure which one that is, but there's another
one of those coming out actually this summer scary.
Speaker 2 (27:38):
The last Jurassic Park I saw was way too scary. Yeah,
so we're just we avoid a lot of that.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
I don't blame you. I don't you know why I would.
Couldn't imagine having a kid having a nightmare. Then the
panic of that, I'm sure is not not fine, It's
not worth it. Now, let's talk about something that is
a little bit friendlier than dinosaurs and Godzilla. Paddington in Peru.
I know you guys went to the movies to see
this one. Did you see you saw it in theaters
(28:03):
or did you rent it at home?
Speaker 3 (28:04):
I'm shocking papers.
Speaker 1 (28:06):
Yeah, make sure to do that right into the mic.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
We saw it in the theater?
Speaker 1 (28:11):
And what did you guys think of this one? Because
I love the Paddington series, I think they're great family
films and they're they're funny, they're heartwarming, and you actually
care about the characters. Did you guys have a fun
time with Paddington in Peru?
Speaker 3 (28:24):
Yes? I think, yeah. I My favorite part was whenever
they made like the contraption with the with the oranges
and like the wooden things.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
Yes, for the marmalade.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
Yeah, for the Oh my favorite part was like when
and it was like the gold or the gold or
the gold or save a daughter part.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
And Oh had to make the choice.
Speaker 3 (28:56):
They picked neither. He just did he just did this
one and about our ducked barely and and it hit
the other one. Hey look and boom.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
Yes, that was a very good part. And yeah, the
Pantenton movies, I think. I hope they keep making them
because I think every single one has been good. I
was just telling Henry that that was actually the third
Pennington movie. He wasn't even he didn't even know there
was a third one, the one that you guys saw.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
You've seen the other two, but it's been a long time.
I thought about the laughterwards that we should have watched
the first two more recently, but we did not. We
just went straight into number three.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
That's fine.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
We had a little bit of a break. What did
you think of when the spider jumped on the man's face?
Speaker 1 (29:39):
Pretty gross?
Speaker 3 (29:40):
For me, it was pretty gross. But he he like,
do you beIN he's did really steal piece. He didn't
really like spiders. Yeah, I think it was like a
trantler or something.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
But he faced his fears, which is important in life.
Is there something because to me, I hate bugs. I
think they're absolutely disgusting. Is there something that scares you guys?
Is there one creature or activity like or something.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
I don't really like fireflies? He is back then, like
fireflies were really big fireflies?
Speaker 1 (30:16):
What about you, Stacey? Is their critter creature? Snakes? We
had to deal with snakes when we did our escape
room the other day.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Yeah, we did, wait, what escape room? Oh yeah, we
went on a crew A Morning show crew activity. We
went to an escape room. Remember I told you, I
said I had to get out of a room we
were locked in and we had to figure out all
the clues.
Speaker 3 (30:37):
Yeah, but why did you have to deal with snakes?
Speaker 1 (30:39):
There was just one part where I mean.
Speaker 2 (30:43):
Blackout.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
Oh, I guess I can't talk for the rest of
the show.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
I don't even actually know what things blackout means. That's
what they say to me when we say something. At
the same time.
Speaker 3 (30:51):
It made you can't talk.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
Oh, so Justin does know?
Speaker 3 (30:53):
Justin?
Speaker 2 (30:54):
Justin so much cooler than me.
Speaker 3 (30:56):
Now you could talk.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
Oh he said the name three times.
Speaker 2 (30:59):
I didn't actually know what it meant. I just say
it all the time.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
Wow. So what about you, Stacey? Is there something that
that stands out as far as what you're afraid of?
Speaker 2 (31:10):
Is?
Speaker 1 (31:10):
Like I mentioned, is there maybe food heights? I didn't
know this.
Speaker 2 (31:14):
You did it? No? Oh my gosh.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
So you never go bungee jumping.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
Never, it's skydiving, absolutely not.
Speaker 1 (31:20):
What about you guys? Would you do that?
Speaker 3 (31:21):
I want to go sky I want to go do both.
I want to bungee jump off the highest bongee jumping bridge.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
What about Have you guys ever been to any theme
parks like six Flags or Disney or Hershey Park or
anything like that.
Speaker 3 (31:36):
I've been to Disneyland. I believe I've been that world.
I've been to like disney Land and like, honey, what
was that called a game? We've we've went to like
we went to We've we went to Speaking to mic
In the mic neck we led to like Harry Potter
books in Universal.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
Universal.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
Now, did you guys do the roller coasters there?
Speaker 3 (31:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (32:00):
And you weren't afraid you didn't vomit? No, yeah, you
did not, because I can't do that. I get nauseous
just from doing the swing set with my niece.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
I go on the swing set and my whole head
starts spinning around. You do the roller coaster, Stacey or No.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
I will do some, But there we reach the point
where they will do roller coasters that I refuse to do. Really, Yeah,
it's embarrassing.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
I think eventually they will be doing the skydiving and
the bungee jumping.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
Tell me about it.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
Yeah, we're gonna tell you about it. Don't We'll tell
you about it afterwards so that you don't make us
not do it.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
There you go. That's always good. Ask for forgiveness, not permission.
That's what I always say. Now, before we wrap things up,
boys and Stacy, I want to know what your all
time favorite movie is. I'm gonna say what mine is,
and you guys can maybe think for a little bit,
and then I'll go to your mom and then you
guys could give me the answer for me. My favorite
movie of all time is a cartoon movie from the
(32:59):
nineteen eighties called Transformers. The movie. I'm sure you guys
have heard of the Transformers.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
Yeah, I heard that, but I don't think I watched it.
Speaker 1 (33:06):
That one is very very good. It's a little sad
at times, and it's violent, but it's nothing too bad.
I think they they would be able to watch it
without being afraid of it. But that's movie. That's a
movie I've been watching since I was a kid, and
it's something I've always watched for the entirety of my life.
So I'm gonna say that's my favorite movie of all time. Stacey,
you got an all time favorite film.
Speaker 2 (33:29):
First of all, maybe we should make that one our
Friday night movie.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
Once I check there is there is, Well, let's hear yours,
then I think.
Speaker 3 (33:39):
It's home You're so naughty, Nick, I'm good, bro, You're
gonna be on the naughty list this Christmas.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
Home Alone three as your all time favorite. And now
I don't even understand how it's your all time favorite
Home Alone, but you're saying it's your all time favorite movie.
Hey to each Then if that's his favorite, that's his
favorite you can't change his opinion on it. What about you, Stacy,
You got one that stands out all time? Favorite is
something from your childhood.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
I'm thinking of Home Alone now because it's what we've
been talking about. That is one of my favorite movies
because we always watch it every year.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
That's in my top five.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
Yeah, it's great family memories, yes, attached to that movie.
So I really like that one. Oh, what are like
a much? I mean I have a bunch of movies
from the eighties that I like, which I've told you about.
Justin I've realized I can't actually show them to my kids.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
Yeah, the Goonies that we've talked about.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
Yeah, I let them watch parts of the Goonies, but
I think that one's a little too scary.
Speaker 3 (34:36):
Still.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
Yeahloth is pretty frightening.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
Yeah, what's Goonies where they go after the treasure.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
It's a group of kids going in adventure to find gold.
Speaker 2 (34:45):
I think I let you watch. I think you saw
part of it. I was just like on TV. Yeah,
I few part, but you can't. It's not you're not
quite ready for the whole movie.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
Mom, remember not yet. Oh what's the other question?
Speaker 1 (34:57):
Well, I just asked what their favorite movie is of
all time and she's just it has been uh naming
a bunch of the movies that she likes. Is there
one that's definite, like that's number one? Is it Home Alone?
Speaker 2 (35:07):
Oh? Maybe?
Speaker 1 (35:08):
Yeah to you Stacy Earth to Stacy, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
Homeo, I mean Homelos on my favorite movies. I have
to think more about this, their mom.
Speaker 3 (35:18):
Do you like a Little Murmy?
Speaker 2 (35:20):
I do like The Little Mermaid. I wouldn't say it's
like an all time favorite movie, but I do like it.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
What about you, Henry, is there a all time favorite movie?
Speaker 2 (35:32):
No?
Speaker 1 (35:32):
No, Now that's the answer. I think no one was expecting.
But you know, there's always movies coming out, and the
fact that he doesn't have one that's his favorite is interesting.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
Henry, I thought you you like and Maya though right,
it's his favorite animated movie.
Speaker 1 (35:50):
H not his favorite movie. What about has? You don't
think the Harry Potter movies are too much? They're not
frightening enough. I mean they're rather they're not frightening.
Speaker 2 (36:01):
Well, he's not. He's only watched Nick's only watched a couple.
Speaker 3 (36:05):
Of them, watched the fourth one.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
I don't think you saw the fourth one.
Speaker 1 (36:09):
You have watched, but you've watched them, Henry, You've said.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
Right, Yeah, I've watched.
Speaker 2 (36:14):
You haven't watched all of them.
Speaker 3 (36:15):
Watched the first, second, third, fourth, And.
Speaker 1 (36:21):
I think that's as frightening as the Goonies. Yes, Voldemart right,
isn't that his name? I've never watched it, but he's
pretty scary looking.
Speaker 3 (36:32):
He doesn't have a nose.
Speaker 1 (36:33):
He's very frightening. He's as scary looking as Sloth. He's
a guy from the Goonies. Very scary, but he's not
a bad guy.
Speaker 2 (36:43):
He's not, but he's so very scary. And the Grandmother
was really scary.
Speaker 1 (36:46):
Yes, there's definitely scary elements to it, but I think
Harry Potter is just as scary. That's my hot take
for the for the show watch.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
I'm I do like the Harry Potter movies. They're really
well done.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
I think I think that's something I need to watch,
is Harry Potter movies. But gentlemen and Stacy, thank you
guys so much for joining me on the film reel.
We only had an hour to record this and there
was microphone issues that we were dealing with, but I'd
love to have you guys back on before you head
on out later in the summer. So if you guys
watch something that's good and you want to talk about it,
(37:18):
you guys are always welcome to join me on the
film reel. How does that sound? Oh yeah, you guys
had fun.
Speaker 3 (37:24):
You guys had fun fun.
Speaker 1 (37:27):
All right, I'm all right, Stacy.
Speaker 2 (37:30):
We're gonna head on out, all right. Bye, say bye,
bye bye.
