Speaker 1 (00:01):
Exploring the latest headlines and in depth conversations. It's the
Richmond Weavers Show on one oh four nine Fox Sports
up State, presented by Ingles Low Prices, Love the Savings,
Now for riches, take on sports.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Here's Richmond Weaver.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Ready to roll this Wednesday right here on one oh
four nine Fox Sports of State. And we appreciate you listening.
Speaker 4 (00:27):
However you might be listening through your radio or maybe
even through the iHeartRadio app and being an investor, investing
your time. And we'll be with you for the next
two hours talking so much football.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Oh yes, we are oh so close.
Speaker 4 (00:42):
And also though in the second hour, yes, we will
be talking a little bit of golf inside the rope segment,
as we will have the executive director, Alex Urban of
the Tour Championship down in Atlanta next week. As the
guys are grinding on the pur right now and knowing
that the top thirty will play next week in Atlanta
(01:05):
to have the FedEx Cup champion crowned next week at
East Lake and so definitely looking forward to catching up
with Alex Urban, the executive director of the Tour Championship,
because there are some changes that are happening for this
year's event.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
So we'll break all of that down with him in
the little bit. But we are in full force here
in studio, mister Trey Falco, only behind the mic, not
behind the board.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
Today, exactly as we do have our intern Miguel Hernandez,
who is behind the board. And how about you say hello,
you're behind the mic as well.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
Yeah, there we go. He's just low key easy.
Speaker 4 (01:46):
That's just how he does it, right, mister Falco behind
the mic today, as we're going to run through a
whole host of things, got a lot to talk about, obviously,
as we're getting closer and closer to football really kicking off.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
We understand that.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
And yesterday we had Marcus Brown, the co founder of
the Junkyard Hit Studio in here talking football and looking
at some of the win totals right the over and
unders for college football, and especially when you're looking at
South Carolina and Clemson and some of the teams that
we do feel will have a shot to win a
national championship or have a successful season and how that
(02:23):
is defined. But I wanted to start taking a look
at the NFL and some of the over under win
totals with the NFL and some teams that might jump
out where they are right now, and especially knowing that
quarterback play is paramount. But there's questions with quarterbacks all
(02:47):
across the league right now.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Yes, I mean injuries or new quarterbacks or whatever.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Whatever it is.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
I mean so many question marks and so many question
marks with a lot of teams. Now, there's a handful
of teams that we pretty much know who they are,
they who they are, who we think they are as chiefs, Yes,
as Dennis Green would say, and so, but it's interesting
again how we perceive some of these teams and how
Vegas perceives some of this team. So let's break down
(03:17):
some of these win totals, and especially when you're looking
at the teams that we know are going to be
Super Bowl contenders, when you're looking at a team like
the Baltimore Ravens, you're looking at a team like the
Buffalo Bills. How about could we say the Detroit Lions
they're interesting because I.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
Don't know, it depends on how they look with that
new offensive and defensive coordinator exactly.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Yeah. What about the Kansas City Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
I'd like to think so it's hard to count them out.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
Because they're consistently there right. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
The Philadelphia Eagles, we know they're going to be a
Super Bowl contender, and I just wonder how much or
if any will have a drop off.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
That's what's going to be interesting to see.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
So when you're looking at some of those teams that
we just named, like the Bill's, Ravens, Chiefs, and Eagles,
all four of those teams their win total over under.
Now this is according to bet MGM as of today,
eleven and a half.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Okay, eleven and a half.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
Bill, do you feel Bill's Ravens, Chiefs, Eagles, which one
of those four.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
Will not get to twelve wins?
Speaker 2 (04:31):
This might be a little bit of a hot take
out of those four. I don't want to say it
because I'm gonna get flamed. I'm thinking Chiefs. Yes, you
look at the Bills and talk about this, I think
it has to be the Chiefs just predicated on how
thin their margins were last season with their win I
mean they were coming down almost every game, felt like
(04:52):
it was either a field goal or they were winning
by like a point.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
Yes, and you talk about that fifteen to two.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
Five of those win three points or less and ten
by seven or less. Yeah, I mean, there were so
many games that could have easily gone. We saw how
they started the season last year, I know, and that
almost really should have been a win for the Ravens
if a toe would have been just inside the line.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Well, and I also look at what just the way
that the Eagles dominated and manhandled the Chiefs. Now, I
get not every team is going to be able to
do that, but if you look at it, I mean,
your defensive coordinators around the league, they're looking at it,
going all right, maybe that's the blueprint.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
Yeah, and think about this too though, the AFC West.
I mean, it is a tough division, and I think
it's going to be tougher. And again, this is looking
at the Kansas City Chiefs based on the dynasty that
they've put together. And again I'm not saying that the
Chiefs are going to drop off the face of the
earth in the NFL and only win six or seven games. Now,
(05:53):
that would only happen if something happens to one Patrick Mahomes.
Oh of course, maybe you could see some scenario like that.
But this is still a Kansas City Chiefs team that
I would expect.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
This is going to be good.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
But like eleven wins exactly, just on ten to win good.
That's what I would expect with the Kansas City Chiefs.
So for all of those teams at eleven and a half,
that's the one that I'm going to say that.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
Would be under.
Speaker 4 (06:20):
But with the other teams, the Buffalo Bills eleven and
a half, I mean, don't you have to say, yeah,
that's pretty solid.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
Pick can go to get twelve? Dude.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
I feel like in the grand scheme of things, where
they were last year, not a lot his Like they
haven't had any super overall changes that would lead me
to believe they're going to have a drop off. If anything,
I feel like they're going to be on par with
last year or better.
Speaker 4 (06:45):
And I agree with you because you have Josh Allen, right,
He's going to be I think better than he was
last year because I think he's going to continue to develop.
He's coming off an MVP type of season exactly, and
so you have to think that he will have that opportunity.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
Now.
Speaker 4 (07:01):
Schedule wise, they do have the Ravens, Jets, Dolphins, Saints
to start, Patriots, and the Falcons.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
So the first six weeks again, that seems right there
that that's pretty good schedule, that's pretty easy start. Yeah,
outside of obviously the Ravens, Yes, we get that, but
you can't tell me they're not in line to a
minimum be five and one after the first six games.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Oh easy. Yeah, you said the Patriots with Dolphins were
on there, the Dolphins and the Saints, okay, and the Falcons.
So Falcons you got Michael Pennix. We don't know, really
know what he's gonna because you've only seen two games.
Saints don't know who they haven't a quarterback just yet
with Tyler Schuck and everything. There. The Dolphins you got two,
you got Tyreek. But at the same time, what's their
defense been is are they gonna stop Josh Allen?
Speaker 3 (07:43):
Probably not. I'm not buying into the Dolphins.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
And we don't know what the Patriots are.
Speaker 4 (07:46):
No, yeah, we definitely do not know what the Patriots are.
So yeah, I'm definitely looking at that one.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
All right.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
So there's other teams though, that are also intriguing, and
we mentioned the Detroit Lions.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
Yeah ten and a half. You no fan of Dan Campbell.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
I am too, But that's a lot to lose with
both your offensive coordinator and your defensive coordinator both at
the same time and knowing that historically, again, I think
Dan Campbell's been able to.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Eliminate some of the dysfunction in Detroit.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
He's been able to get them in a completely different mindset,
completely different culture, feel, philosophy, whatever it is. But that's
a lot to lose, and can you count on Jared
Goff continuing to play the way he has? Is there
at some point going to be a little bit of
dip for Jared Goff? And I'm a Jared Goff fan.
(08:45):
I think he's one of the most accurate quarterbacks in
the NFL.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
I yeah, that's a tough one because I feel like, yes,
at a certain point, there will be a dip. I
wonder just with the way that the Detroit Lions and
Dan Campbell runs, which I mean, I guess that's subject
to change, that they've got to do off it's coordinator,
but that a lot of that offense is predicated to
run the ball, smash mount football, So you can kind
of insulate a quarterback there. So I don't know that
you'd necessarily really unless he just really fell off, I
(09:11):
don't know that you'd notice a super like big change
there at quarterback play. I just I don't know. This
is where we're gonna find out. Is it Dan Campbell
or is it the offensive coordinator? What's it been the
past week?
Speaker 3 (09:23):
The combination? Yes, and at the end of the day,
you know it's going to be a factor of all
of those. Oh, of course, there's no doubt. But can
Dan Campbell? Is he that stabilizer?
Speaker 2 (09:33):
Right exactly?
Speaker 3 (09:33):
Is he that guy? And they do have a tough
road schedule.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
I mean, you've got games on the road against Cincy,
and I know we can talk about Sincy and their defense, but.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
Still their offense puts up some points.
Speaker 4 (09:44):
Yes, yeah, you're on the road against Kansas City, You're
on the road against Washington, on the road, against Philly
on the road, against Baltimore, on the road against the Rams.
So you've got some tough games there for the Detroit Lions.
That's why I think going under doesn't mean they're not
going to make the playoffs or anything. But I could
see them just winning ten games here, a ten and
(10:06):
a half, ten and a half.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
I actually ten, Yeah, that'd be about that feels about
right for the drug Like if they do drop off,
probably about probably losing extra four games because they went
fourteen and three last year.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
Yes, all right, you're Pittsburgh Steelers. Oh, here we go
eight and a half.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
Oh really, not over over?
Speaker 3 (10:25):
Oh just that quickly.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
I until Mike Tomlin has a losing season, I have
to give him nine games.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
And I agree with you, and I think that's one
of the things that if you're looking at the Pittsburgh
Steelers when I just mentioned stabilizer, my gosh, you look
at the Steelers and one of the most stable franchises
in NFL history. Doesn't mean they're winning super Bowls every
single year, doesn't win the playoffs, that's right, Yes, very
(10:54):
good point. But it also it does mean though that
they're at the bottom of the barrel.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Right two years ago he went he got ten wins
out of Can he PICKTT, Mitch Trubisky, and Mason Rudolph
all in one season? Now he's gonna have Aaron.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
Rodgers and DK Metcalf.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
That's right, Yeah, we can. We've got five hundred wide
receiver fours and no wide receiver.
Speaker 4 (11:18):
I don't know how many games is Aaron Rodgers just
Aaron Rodgers? How many games does he give you?
Speaker 3 (11:23):
That's a good gret.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
He literally just got fell on yesterday and wrapped up
his leg. You know, we talked about this a couple
of times on John's show, about the longevity of Aaron Rodgers.
I genuinely don't know. I mean, I think mentally I'm
gonna I'm gonna play seven all seventeen games, Sure, but
I wonder with his age and just the the injuries
that he's had with the achilles and everything, and now
(11:45):
somebody falling on the leg, Like, if the line holds up,
I think he could. I think he could give you
close to seventeen games.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
Well, the question is does the Pittsburgh line hold up
in past years. I don't think it does.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Yeah. Well, the defense is still going to be nasty,
you know that. I mean that's.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
A prerequisite of Mike Tomlin that he's going to have
a hell of a defense.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
So we do know that. And I don't know.
Speaker 4 (12:11):
Aaron Rodgers complaining about helmets and maybe it's karma that's
why he got stepped on.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
I prefer that over the bubble helmet, though I'm not
a big fan of the bubble helmet. I think it
looks goofyo. On the record, I don't like it.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
You don't like it?
Speaker 2 (12:23):
No, I was so glad they banned it and he
couldn't wear it.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
Yeah, I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 4 (12:29):
Well, he was the holdout, right, Oh yeah, as he
was the last one. Yeah yeah, So there there is
that time to evolve, time to move on, mister Rogers.
But I do think he can provide some wins for
your Pittsburgh Steelers, all right. So if we're going to
look at the Pittsburgh Steelers, then we also have to
(12:50):
look at the Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Oh okay seven.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
And a half? Oh is it?
Speaker 2 (12:54):
Dude?
Speaker 3 (12:54):
Over seven and a half.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
I think they.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
Cleared that confident. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (13:00):
And I'm you know, coffee bean mentality, all of that
and positivity, try to speak get into existence.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
But I'm also a realist here. I just think there's
so much dysfunction.
Speaker 4 (13:15):
And and yes, you can easily point to Micah Parsons
if he's there, If he's there, but I mean just
just the contract negotiations.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
But it's just a pattern that we have seen.
Speaker 4 (13:27):
And then you've also got a new head coach, Brian Schottenheimer,
and I think it's going to go one of those
two ways where he's going to be able to inject
some energy and positivity, something a change of scenery, you know,
something of that nature, or it's just going to be
(13:49):
the same. Yeah, because I mean, do we know much
about him as a head coach?
Speaker 3 (13:55):
No, because this is his.
Speaker 4 (13:56):
First opportunity, right, so there's something to be said about that.
And then what are you going to be able to
get out of your offense with Dyke Prescott?
Speaker 3 (14:05):
And especially there's really no running games.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
That's true. I guess I just looked at it from
the perspective of and granted you've had you had Wow,
I can't think of his name right now, the last
head coach who got you twelve and five.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
McCarthy. McCarthy, I could think of his name for a.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
Second, So I guess I'm looking at it from the
lens if you had Mike McCarthy. So it is a
new head coach. But I feel like on paper, especially
if you can get Micah Parsons signed, I feel like
the floor for the Dallas Cowboys, like with Micah Parsons
and that offense, And maybe I am looking at it
too optimistic. Is like eight like eight wins would be
the bottom.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
Which would get you over That's right, And I do yes,
And that's where I mean, as much as I have
some caution about the Cowboys in that seven and a
half in initially I'm like.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
Oh, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (14:54):
I do tend to agree with you that eight wins
does seem feasible for the Cowboys, right, it does seem feasible.
And I mean you can still have a losing record though,
be eight to nine exactly, know so, but you get
over that win total.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
That's just not going to be good enough for the Cowboys.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
And I guess that's where I'm going in terms of
the success that might happen for the Cowboys this season.
How is that going to be defined? And we know
to define it, it's you have to have playoffs success.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
That's one of those organizations.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
Yeah, yes, you have to get to the playoffs and
make a little bit of a run in the playoffs.
That is so huge right now for the Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
All right.
Speaker 4 (15:40):
So this one's also intriguing because we've talked about them
quite a bit because their offense is so good, so stacked.
The Cincinnati Bengals nine and a half man, that's tough, right,
depends on how they start. Yeah, they were nine and
eight last year but missed the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
I guess it depends on how much you believe in
schmar Stu and whether or not they get Trey Hendrickson signed,
because that's all. That's literally all they have on defense,
because we know, we know they can put up points.
And I guess it also depends on who they play.
If they're playing a bunch of teams that aren't gonna
go in a shootout with them, then maybe they just
win by sheer dominance and just offensive power and just
out maneuver the guys. But I nine and a half,
(16:21):
I still feel like the Bengals are like just a
little under that at like nine, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (16:26):
Start the season at Cleveland, okay, so here, here's here's there.
Let's look at their we'll look at their first nine games. Okay,
at Cleveland winnable, Jacksonville at home.
Speaker 3 (16:38):
I think that's winnable. At Minnesota, well, that defense though, yeah,
but we don't know what Minnesota is going to be
on offense, that's.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
Right, we don't know what we have in JJ McCarthy there.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
Yeah, at Denver, I I think that's a loss.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
I kind of think it does.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
Yeh.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
Their defense is stacked and bowneck'ok really good less.
Speaker 4 (16:56):
Yes, I think Sean Payton's going to do some things
there in Denver, potentially to two versus Detroit at home.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
We talked about Detroit. I'd go on the road.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
They're kind of a wild card, but that Detroit defensive
stacked too. If they stay healthy. At green Bay, I
think that could be a win. I think they can
win that one. You're Steelers, So I did this, I
think on John Show. We went through the Steelers and
I had them losing that first Steelers game, or excuse me,
I had the Steelers losing that first Yeah, so Cincinnati wins.
(17:26):
So I'm gonna stick with that. Since he wins that.
Speaker 4 (17:28):
One, okay, and then against the Jets that should should
be a win.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
Should be a win.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
I'm anxious to see though, how Aaron going to be
Yeah as head coach there, I am yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
And is justin fields? Is he going to be the
guy if.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
You run, if you lean into his streints? I think
he can be. Yeah, he's got to be healthy true.
Well yeah, and then the Bears. That's the first nine games. Cleveland, Jacksonville, Minnesota, Denver, Detroit,
Green Bay, Pittsburgh, New York and Chicago for the Cincinnati
Bengals to start the season.
Speaker 4 (18:05):
Out of those, you can't tell me there's not five wins?
Speaker 2 (18:09):
What I was thinking five?
Speaker 3 (18:09):
Maybe six, yes, no doubt.
Speaker 4 (18:12):
And then the rest of the second half after your
bye week Pittsburgh, New England, Baltimore, Buffalo, O, Baltimore again, Miami, Arizona,
New England, Cleveland.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
I think New England, Miami and Arizona and Cleveland. That's
another's games, right, that's.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
Four you should win. So that's what you got.
Speaker 4 (18:31):
Five yes, so nine they're going to be close. Yeah,
they're going to be right there at it again. And
this is Vegas.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
They so they'll.
Speaker 4 (18:39):
Probably be nine and eight once again, and they'll be
right there on the cusp of their over underwin totals.
All right, Another one though, that I'm also interested in,
just because I'm intrigued as far as can this coach
almost reinvent himself again and it's Pete Carroll. But the Raiders, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
I mean they're an interesting team. They're an interesting team.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
I mean again, Pete Carroll back in the NFL as
head coach with a team that you're talking about again dysfunction, right,
this is definitely a geno. Yeah, well we know he.
Speaker 4 (19:20):
Had success with Jenno though, so that's why I am
intrigued about this now.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
Gino not happy with a few of the fans there.
So the preseason get came as he was equated to
a bust like JaMarcus Russell. But this will be interesting.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
Obviously we know Pete Carroll's an upgrade, no question about it.
But again, how will their defense be? And you're in
a tough division, so that's that's part of it, you know.
But the win total is six and a half.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
I think they get seven this year. I think it's
just a little over that and maybe I'm a little
high on Ashton genty but also brock Bowers last year
with who do you have thrown to him? Aidan O'Connell
and Gardner Minshew, Yeah, set a rookie record for receiving,
So I mean, you got a dog there and Minshew.
My my concern would be the defense because I know
you've got Max Crosby and then everybody else, and so
I wonder, like defensively what the Raiders have there. But
(20:14):
then again, we had Jeremy on a couple of weeks ago,
and he's really high on their two corners.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
They're at uh at the Raiders for the Raiders. Yeah, yeah,
so I mean and in the past their secondary has
been yeah questionable. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
So from a defensive standpoint, I don't know what you have.
From an offensive standpoint, it looks decent on paper because
I think there's an upgrade in geno.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
You got Ashton genty, so you should have.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
A running game.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
And you got Brock Bowers who catches everything.
Speaker 4 (20:38):
Yeah, and he just shaved his head so he's ready
to get aerodynamic. Yes, mister power out there all right,
so that will be interesting that the Raiders let us
know some of your dogs. You can join the conversation
eight six four two four zero five four eight zero.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
We do have open phone line.
Speaker 4 (20:57):

here with the NFL and some of the teams, how
we're going to project these teams heading into the season,
and some intrigue in some who knows what to expect. Yeah,
there is something about that.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
Another one that I am interested in because also I'm
interested in the head coach, and I felt that he
was going to be able to come in and make
some changes and get a team more relevant, right, and
that's the Chargers.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
Oh Jim Harball.
Speaker 4 (22:55):
Yeah, Okay, Jim Harball. Can he repeats some of the
success that he had last year, But with the Chargers
this year, they're over under when you're looking at them again,
the LA Chargers nine and a half? Really, yes, nine
and a half? How do you land on that, mister Falco.
Speaker 2 (23:15):
I'm willing to go over on that one, and that
I think that just comes down to the way that
Jim Harball, the way just the way he coaches and
plays ball. Like the way that organization runs right now
is defense. First, run the ball, pound the rock, and
then you got Justin Herbert to rely on when you
need a passing game.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
There you go.
Speaker 2 (23:29):
I think it works.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
You sum that up so eloquently.
Speaker 4 (23:32):
It's hard for me to add a whole lot because
I'm leaning over here because of I think Herbert is
elite type of quarterback. Now we haven't seen it consistently. Yes,
that's right, and so you do have that. But we
know Jim Harball. He's a winner, there's no question about it.
I mean they won ten games last year first first year, Yes, exactly,
(23:54):
So you have to think that they can get to
ten or eleven wins because their schedule is brutal. Now,
it's not necessarily easy in the middle of the pack,
so they'll have that opportunity, and especially if they split
with Kansas City and they can be able to beat
Denver and Vegas. I mean they're be well on their
way just based on games within the division. Oh yeah,
(24:15):
and they were seven and two in one score games
last season, so you do you can't look at that
and say, Okay, they had some close games and we're
able to you know, have those wins. Yeah, but I
also think it shows that Hardball he can win those
close games.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
Almost think that's how he wants to play. I mean,
if you look at the style of football that they're playing,
it lends itself to those one score games. I mean
it's heavy in the trenches.
Speaker 3 (24:43):
He wants it in the trenches. He loves it in
the trenches. Now, they did lose Y Slater, Yeah, that
Sea Slater. That is something kind of taking account.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
But even there, though, I still with the way their
defense is and the way he's got that line and everything, Jellen,
I still have a hard time going on under that
nine and a half.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
Nine and a half, Yeah, I'm I least I think
they can get to ten wins. And also they do
have Keenan Allen coming back.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:07):
And Keenan Allen he used to light it up for
me in fantasy football or years ago.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Now obviously he's much older, but he is still a.
Speaker 4 (25:15):
Veteran guy that I can that I do think will
be productive there. All Right, So now we go to
this one, and this is just a train wreck.
Speaker 3 (25:24):
This team.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
We've talked about him so much and they continued to
be in the news because of their quarterback, the Cleveland Browns.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
Go ahead and give me the overrun.
Speaker 3 (25:35):
Do you want it? Is it four four and a half?
Speaker 2 (25:38):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (25:39):
Really?
Speaker 1 (25:39):
Wow? Yes?
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Four and a half?
Speaker 3 (25:41):
Four and a half. Yes, that's that's an oof. That's
a rough one if you're a Cleveland Browns fan.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
They were three and fourteen and twenty twenty four, and do.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
We see much more progress in twenty twenty five?
Speaker 2 (25:58):
Now, I will say I might be a little bullish
on the Browns and go say they can get five
wins because I feel like Joe Flacco is good off
the bench for a couple of games. Now once he
falls apart, what do they get. I don't know, but
I feel like of the medley of quarterbacks that they
(26:19):
got there, at least one of them's got to get
you a win or two maybe. Ok So if Joe
can get you three, and say Kenny Pickett gets you
one or two, you're kind of right there at that
four to five win.
Speaker 4 (26:33):
So each quarterback you have to count on each quarterback
getting you at least one win and Flacco get you two.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
Right.
Speaker 2 (26:40):
Basically, yeah, that sums up the Browns.
Speaker 4 (26:42):
Well, that does sum up the Browns all right. But
they're schedule wise open up against Cincinnati. No, No, they're
loss Baltimore loss, Green Bay loss, loss at Detroit loss, Minnesota.
Speaker 3 (27:00):
Okay, loss, Pittsburgh loss Miami. Maybe that's the one.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
Depends on who your quarterbacks is at that point in time.
You can get Miles Garrett after Tua and get him
shaken up a little bit, maybe you can do something there.
But it depends on if Joe Flacco if he's cooked
by then, or if it's Kinny Pickett, or if it's
Shadoor or any other quarterback they got, that's a coin
flip for me.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
Yeah, I would agree with you. Yeah, I think that's
a WINNA bull game. I don't know if it's at home,
so even helps more benefit.
Speaker 2 (27:31):
There might be a little colder maybe Tua.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
And then you go on the road in week eight
at New.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
England that could potentially be a win. That's a win
a bull game, I think potentially.
Speaker 4 (27:42):
I think New England might be a little bit better
this year, so I'll give them a loss there. So
say that's one in seven in the first eight weeks.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
Maybe I'm not as bullish on Cleveland as I thought.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
Because then you finish the second half of the season
against New York, Baltimore, Vegas, San Francisco, Tennessee, Chicago, the Bills,
You're Steelers again.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
And Cincinnati once again. I just can't see them getting
four wins out of that. That would give them five.
Maybe maybe on the road at Chicago potentially where what
at New York the Jets? Maybe when's that Steelers game week?
(28:28):
What that is?
Speaker 4 (28:31):
The first one is October twelfth, right, right at Pittsburgh.
And then the last one is December twenty eighth, that's
Week seventeen in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
Be careful with Pittsburgh in December because they have that
wef that could be a sneaky trap game for Pittsburgh
clearly could potentially win that one.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
Yeah, it's at home. Yeah, I could say I could
see something crazy like.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
Glub last year.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
That was wild.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
I mean, I don't want to say that, like I
don't like it, but it it's a potential trap game.
But at the same time, out of those other games, yeah,
I don't be hard pressed to get Maybe they get four.
Speaker 4 (29:07):
Yeah, I see them hovering around four. It's going to
be hard to get that fifth game. Now here's the
caveat to it. You kept mentioning Joe Flacco and rightfully, so, yeah,
I mean he seems to be the guy.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
But are we convinced And.
Speaker 4 (29:25):
I know I'm not trying to jump on some of
this narrative that oh wow, look at Shador Sanders in
the preseason game and how he played. He's right, right,
He's much better than the fifth round pick that you
know he landed at. But I'm I'm curious though, I
(29:46):
just wonder. I really do there might be something to
Sanders here that he might be of the quarterbacks that
Cleveland has in that stable.
Speaker 2 (29:59):
He might be the best quarter back there. I said
it on John Show, and I'll go on the record here.
My hot take earlier this offseason was that Shirdoor Sanders
would be the starter. Yeah, because I look at that room,
I look at who they have, you don't. I don't
know what they have in Dylan Gabriel, so he's the
wild card. But I can tell you from watching Kenny Pickett,
not only there in Pittsburgh, but the limited time that
he got to see the field there as a backup
(30:19):
in Philly. Yeah, I mean it wasn't anything. He wasn't
lighting anything up. So I mean the competition there, they
could be neck and neck there for Shadur and Kenny.
Maybe they're on the same level playing field. And then
I look at that Joe Flacco. My big thing with
Joe Flacco is he's good for a little bit. Yeah,
Like when we saw him and he came out with
Cleveland and they went to the playoffs. He was good
until he got the playoffs for about four games when
(30:41):
he came in for Anthony Richardson. He was good for
about three games and then they benched him. So I
don't think I think Joe's good in small spurts yep.
But as a whole I don't disagree Shaduur. I think
he has a path there to be the starter.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
I wholeheartedly think he has a path to be the starter.
Maybe not game one, again, not going off of just
one little sample size that we saw against the Panthers.
I'm not going to crown him the starter, but I'm
seeing enough.
Speaker 3 (31:12):
And again, this is relative to the quarterbacks that are there.
It would be different if Shador was you know, there
in Kansas City or something.
Speaker 4 (31:21):
Yeah, and that's even being way too dramatic. And let
me think of another or like in Atlanta. You know
i'd start Pinis, yes, of course.
Speaker 3 (31:29):
But here in Cleveland, and also, I mean Cleveland, how
much do you have to lose? Right?
Speaker 4 (31:37):
Yeah, I mean go see what you really have Sanders
or Dylan Gabriel, whoever, any of them.
Speaker 3 (31:44):
I just don't know. Are we going to put everything
into the Joe Flacco basket. I wouldn't even telling you
there will either be and he's.
Speaker 4 (31:55):
A serviceable, serviceable quarterback is he's a veteran. He's well
established what he's done in this league, no doubt.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
I just I've seen over the course of two years
that production fall off after he plays a string of games.
Joe Flacco was really good, Like he is the ultimate.
If you need a guy in a pinch to come
in and win a game, boom, Yes, you call him
Joe flacka.
Speaker 3 (32:17):
I mean he did.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
He did tremendously against the Steelers last year.
Speaker 4 (32:20):
The Colt Well that's the thing. Well, maybe that's what
he does. He comes, he starts and then you know,
they send him home. He goes, you know, for a month,
gets on the couch.
Speaker 3 (32:27):
Yeah, yep, and then he comes back, you know, after
he has a hiatus for about a month of you know,
just hanging out on the couch and then comes back.
And maybe that's how they get falls out. Yeah exactly. Well,
all he has got to do is get too right,
yeah right, Or Shoder's got to get to can you
Pickett's got to get to or Dylan Gabriel's got to
get too all right. So here's another one.
Speaker 4 (32:48):
Okay, this is this is not an over under win
total all right for Cleveland over under?
Speaker 3 (32:55):
How many quarterbacks will play.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
Oh, three and a half, I was gonna say three
and a half might be it. I have a weird
suspicion they might just try starting them all at some
point in the season, because we know Joe Flacco is
good for a couple of games, can he Pikett is
inevitably gonna get injured because he gets injured towards the
end of the season every year. It happened in I
think I think he got injured last year a Philly
(33:18):
had something he was dealing with. He's already injured here
at in preseason. He got injured the two years that
he was there at Pittsburgh, So that's gonna happen. Dylan
Gabriel don't know, but if you're gonna start Dylan Gabriel,
you may as well start Shador Sanders too, just to
see what you've got in a regular game.
Speaker 4 (33:32):
Well, I do agree with that, yes, But is that
not the ultimate just absurdity. You had a scenario playing
out where, not due to injury, you're starting four quarterbacks
in your season.
Speaker 2 (33:48):
Oh, that's dysfunction. When we're forgetting about the Snoop Huntley, Yeah, exactly.
They got another quarterback that back there and yeah, I
mean again, still an unknown entity right overall. Oh yeah,
and I know you've seen a little bit of him,
you know, being able to come in in spot duty
or whatever.
Speaker 3 (34:06):
But yeah, I think three and a half is the
number for quarterbacks there in Cleveland.
Speaker 4 (34:13):
And that's without injury. I'm not taking injuries into consideration here,
Oh my goodness. But I do believe that Shorge Sanders
could be the guy. I agree, I really do. All right,
how about this one last one? And uh, we need
to get to this break Washington Commanders, because again I
(34:33):
want to see how these teams are the following year,
especially Dan Quinn there at the helm and Jaden Daniels
at quarterback, New Belichick and Brady hmm, oh okay, that's hot,
take hot, hot take right there. They're going to start
the dynasty right here in this second season. Over under
(34:54):
is nine and a half for the Commanders.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
I'm gonna go just to shade under and go nine.
I think they take a little bit of because they
won what eleven games last year. I think they take
a little bit of a step back. Okay, you've got
tape on Jayden Daniels, now you do.
Speaker 4 (35:11):
And they were five to one against teams with losing
records last year. So yeah, I mean, you know, they
do have another schedule that kind of lines up where
it does work in their favor. It's more middle of
the pack type of tough schedule. I do think that
James Daniels is a star. I don't know what Jaydon
(35:34):
daniels ceiling is, right, that's the question. There's no doubt
he can be a longtime quarterback in the NFL, and
he surprised me how he played last year as a rookie.
But to your point, we see it will there be
somewhat of a regression with Jadon Daniels in terms of
(35:54):
his production because teams have film on him.
Speaker 3 (35:57):
And also there's a little bit more pressure now. I mean,
she's had expectations to, yeah, get the Commanders back to
the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
Well, and I mean because a lot of people want
to compare the Commanders to the Texans. And one thing
that C. J. Stroud I think really benefited from in
his second year and that quote unquote sophomore slump is
the Texans defense is really good, you know, and the
Commander's defense they're not They're not bad, but they're not
like super good. They're from the middle of the pack,
(36:27):
So a lot of it, I feel like is really
going to fall on Jayden and Daniels that he's going
to need to elevate some more this year than what CJ.
Stroud may have had to do his sophomore year.
Speaker 4 (36:34):
Yeah, and Jayden Daniels last year threw for almost thirty
five hundred yards twenty two touchdowns and rushed for just
over six hundred yards. So you had some people, you know,
trying to I wouldn't say they're not saying he's like
Lamar Jackson, but has some of those Lamar Jackson qualities
from a dual threat to capability and how special that was.
(36:56):
But they had some close wins. Also remember that last
year Maryland, Yes, exactly, So there is that to take
into consideration. But join the conversation. Eight six four two
four zero five four eight zero. Let us know your
thoughts on some of these win totals, or do you
have a team out there that you're excited about in
the NFL that you think is going to have a
(37:18):
much better season than they did last year.
Speaker 3 (37:21):
Give us a call. Eight six four two four zero
five four eight zero. As we continue this Wednesday edition
of the Richmond Weaver Show presented by Ingles Markets. Right
after this, continuing the Wednesday edition of the Richmond Weavers
Show presented by Ingles Markets right here on one oh
four nine Fox Sports Upstate here live in studio downtown Greenville,
(37:43):
the Ingles.
Speaker 4 (37:44):
Studio right here on North Main Street. And you know
you can always join the conversation. Eight six four triple
seven ninety five ninety three is the text line again,
The text line is eight six four triple seven ninety
five ninety three. And I really appreciate all of the
investors that texted in yesterday. Yeah, gave it a little
(38:07):
bit of a hey, let's go, let's use the text
line and let me know some of your favorite helmets.
Speaker 3 (38:13):
So just remember you can consistently use the text line
when you're able not able to call in eight six'
four triple seven ninety five ninety. Three All, right we
were talking some of THE nfl win totals over unders
all of, that BUT i also wouldn't to mention about
(38:33):
THE nfl and. Viewership AND i was reading an article
On Front Office sports and WHICH i think they do
a fantastic. Job and we've Had David rumsey on the show,
before and he's a great reporter the college football side
and the golf. Side but this is interesting from THE
nfl AND cbs broadcasting a game that potentially you'd set
(39:01):
the viewership record all, time and THE nfl AND cbs
is banking on this. Happening back in twenty twenty Two Thanksgiving,
day the most watched regular season matchup, ever with forty
two million viewers on average was The Cowboys giants On
(39:22):
Thanksgiving day twenty twenty. Two Attracts, Cowboys, Okay Cowboys, GIANTS
Nfc east, rivalry you get all of, that it's The.
Cowboys well this, year how about, this it's The cowboys
and The. Chiefs and putting that game On Turkey day
(39:42):
does seem to be THAT cbs and THE nfl they're
thinking this could be the most watched regular season telecast
in the NFL's one hundred and four year, history because
you've Got Dak prescott The, cowboys and you've Got Patrick
mahomes and The Kansas City. Chiefs and according TO, cbs
(40:08):
they feel that both of those guys move the, needle
and both of those teams move the.
Speaker 2 (40:13):
Needle hate Watch i'm telling you there's enough. PEOPLE i
feel like The chiefs are now in that category because
they've won so much that they're so. Polarizing you're either
A chiefs fan or you can't stand The, chiefs and
you're either A cowboys fan or you can't stand The,
cowboys and you want to watch just to watch one
of those teams.
Speaker 4 (40:28):
Lose, Yes and there's something about it that you have
those polarizing type of, thoughts and that can be sometimes
two of the biggest viewership drivers that you have either
you love or. Hate and especially when you have teams
that like a dynasty with The chiefs who.
Speaker 3 (40:49):
Have been winning.
Speaker 4 (40:50):
Yep and then you've got a team like The cowboys
pseudo dynasty because they're consistently in the, news but they're
just not having success winning especially. Postseason we know. That
so that will be interesting because that game could be.
Speaker 3 (41:07):
Big, yeah oh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (41:08):
Depends on The cowboys record and The chiefs record THEN
i guess so that will be the question at that
point how much will that impact? VIEWERSHIP i feel like
if both teams are like good at that point in the,
SEASON i think it really helps. Viewership, well both teams
are kind of. MAD i don't know that it really
(41:29):
hurts viewership all that.
Speaker 4 (41:30):
MUCH i think there's something about you're going to have football, on,
yeah On, Thanksgiving, yeah.
Speaker 3 (41:36):
Regardless of what.
Speaker 4 (41:37):
TEAMS i, mean how many times have we seen back
in the day The lions and they were, Terrible, yeah
BUT i know we had it on, yeah because it's.
Football exactly what you're, Doing, turkey have football, on taking
nab football still, On eat some more and you keep,
going all. Right they ALSO cbs talked about that they
were excited that they were able to land and the
(42:00):
game On november the, Second Kansas city Versus Buffalo and
AS cbs, reports they're saying that this is the biggest
rivalry in THE nfl right, Now chiefs versus The. Bills
it's hard to argue because what we've seen in the
postseason between those two.
Speaker 2 (42:20):
Teams, also it's really hard not to think Of Josh
allen and also think Of Patrick.
Speaker 4 (42:27):
Mahons of, COURSE i mean you immediately think of the quarterbacks.
There you don't think Of Andy reid, immediately you think
of the two. Quarterbacks, yeah and the duel between the two.
Quarterbacks and that's another reason why we watch some of
these games because we want to. SEE i mean back
in the, day you Remember manning Versus. Brady oh, yeah,
yeah this is what it is right. Now this is
(42:48):
the equivalent to. That It's mahomes Versus Josh. Allen all,
right we're gonna wrap up our one of The Richmond
Weaver show presented By Ingles.
Speaker 3 (42:58):
Markets right after, this.
Speaker 4 (43:01):
The wednesday edition of The Richmond Weavers show presented By

gas pump as. Well so make sure you get Your
Ingles advantage card and get to your Local.
Speaker 3 (43:36):
Ingles ingles low, prices love the.
Speaker 4 (43:38):
Savings all, right we were talking about, quarterbacks and interestingly
enough you look at the ravens and, cowboys but did
you see the Story Lamar jackson And Troy.
Speaker 2 (43:49):
Aikman, NO i haven't seen that. Yet So Troy.
Speaker 4 (43:52):
Aikman were number, eight, right we know, that, Right hall
Of famer And Lamar, jackson where's number eight on his
way to potentially be A hall Of? FAMER i, mean
based on how his career has. Started but he actually
had filed a lawsuit Against Troy yateman for the use
of the number eight in being able to promote his.
(44:17):
Brand SO i guess there's a Trademark patton issue going
on between the. Two But Lamar, jackson according to the,
reports has now withdrawn his lawsuit Against Troy, yateman and
apparently he had made mention that fans would be confused
(44:38):
if it Was Lamar jackson's number Eight Troy yateman's number.
Speaker 2 (44:42):
EIGHT i Guess pittsburgh looked out That Tommy maddocks Or
Kenny pickett didn't pan.
Speaker 3 (44:45):
Out didn't happen for The Pittsburgh. Steelers that's. INTERESTING a
lawsuit a, Lawsuit that's Why i'm just, wondering how would
he be hurt that bad that people would be that
Confused as far As Troy yateman Versus Lamar jackson and
(45:07):
especially when you're looking AT i, MEAN i Know Baltimore
ravens paraphernalia and, memorabilia AND i get. It the NFL's
involved with that, Also so there was more of things
That Lamar jackson was doing outside of THE, nfl saying
like era eight and you eight yet those type of
(45:28):
those type of, things and that If Troy yateman had
his patent with the number, eight that it would cause.
Confusion AND i just don't know If i'm buying INTO
i think all of that and fans just figure it.
Speaker 4 (45:42):
Out, YEAH i think fans are smart. Enough now we
do try to as, fans And i'm looking in the
mirror AND i can say wholeheartedly that we're in this community,
together that the, fans we can try to be the expert.
Comnday we do know, that but we're also smart enough
to be able to decipher a yes.
Speaker 3 (46:05):
EXACTLY i think we will.
Speaker 4 (46:07):
Be, okay all, Right we're going to continue This wednesday
edition Of The Richmond Weaver, show presented By Ingles markets
right here on ONE o four, Nine Fox Sports. Upstate
our two is, next
Speaker 3 (46:18):
And we'll talk a little college football
