four nine Fox Sports Upstate. This is the Monday edition
of the Richmond Weavers Show, presented by Ingles Markets, and
we are live in studio looking out the beautiful skyline
here in downtown Greenville. We can actually see some mountains
out there. It's a beautiful day in the Upstate. This

is a nice spring day, even though we are getting
closer and closer to summer. As we are moving fast,
but we also are in full force, mister Trey Falco
behind the board and behind the mic as always. As
we are coming off of a weekend where we didn't
have NFL true discussions because NFL Draft is over now

and now teams are trying to figure out exactly how
those pieces are going to fit within their organization. We've
come off of the Shadoor Sanders comments and the talk
tracks all of that. Although I think we're still going
to consistently talk about Shador Sanders leading up to the season,
and then even more so in the season until he

takes his first snap.

Oh for sure.

I think that's the storyline going into this offseason and
into the new season.

It's got to be Shador. I can't think of anything else.

I mean, that's going to be the number one thing
talked about, even more so than I think cam Ward
Tendensee Titans.

They don't even talk about cam Ward when he got drafted.

But well, of course, and that's going to be interesting
to see. But we're also getting closer and closer. We
will start talking some college football this summer. Oh yes,
of course, I know there's right now. NBA playoffs are
in full swing, and definitely looking forward to talking with
our good friend Jason Tempf of Hoops tonight. He'll be

joining us each and every Wednesday as he does, so
we'll look forward to breaking things down from the NBA
playoff perspective on Wednesday. But I do have to mention
just from this standpoint, Steph Curry the Golden State Warriors
and getting the big victory there in Game seven against
the Houston Rockets, and now they will face the Minnesota Timberwolves,

and I do love game sevens, and there's something to
be said about all of these game sevens that we're
starting to see, and even in NHL, you have game
sevens that are coming down to the wire, and especially
when you have a team like Winnipeg who scores two
goals and basically the last two minutes right to force

overtime and they win in double overtime. So I mean,
it's those type of things that we absolutely crave for
and love for in sports, and there's something significant about that.
And we also had the Kentucky Derby this past weekend. Yeah,
and apparently they're like record numbers of not only viewers
but also bets that were placed on the Kentucky Derby,

And we talked about it. Has the Kentucky Derby lost
some of its luster, But it seems like right now
that there's not a whole lot of drop off based
on some of the numbers that we're seeing. And I
did watch my wife and I we watched the Kentucky
Derby on Saturday.

Sloppy mess. I mean, it was crazy that they're.

Running in that type of environment with all of the
mud and everything.

And I would have to say It is exciting.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
And I can only imagine if you had money on
oh Man, a particular horse and or particular horses, if
you're playing a parlay or whatever it might be. But
that's why I don't lay money down, because you get
so invested in so many different ways, and I definitely
do not like losing money. But I can see the

excitement just I didn't have any money in it, and
I'm just excited to watch a finish like that, regardless
of it, regardless if it's a human trying to finish
an animal. I mean, it's amazing how the competitive spirit
and how much as human beings.

I was gonna say it goes back to something that
we've talked about before, and the most I would say,
the most basic, the most simplest form of entertainment, the
most simplest sport there is, and that's running.

That is almost like prehistoric, yes, that I can imagine

That's the basic form of competition and it's been around
since the world began. Oh yes, there's something to be
said about human beings and how we just relish in
those type of situations. As always, we want you to

Was Greg, popovich and we talked about that he's stepping
down as The San Antonio spurs head, coach longtime head,
coach AND i heard the individuals talking About Greg popovic

and how his name is synonymous with The San Antonio.
Spurs oh, right and there's no question when you think
About Greg, popovich you immediately think about The San Antonio,
spurs and almost even vice. Versa oh, yeah you think
about The San Antonio, spurs you think About Greg. Popovitch
now you can Also Attim duncan monogenobly of those type of,

Players David, robinson even A Kawhi leonard short period of
time there relative To kawhi's. Career and it started making me, think,
though because this is interesting that there are certain, players
there are certain, coaches there are certain, teams whatever it might,

be are synonymous with somebody, else or the team is
synonymous with a player or a coach or vice, versa
that player or that.

Coach is synonymous with the.

Team so it made me think about what are some
of the most synonymous combos out. There that's a good
one that we, have and you, know and it's interesting
the psychology that goes into, that because whether we associate
a player with a team or a team with a
player or, coach whatever it, IS i do think there's

some factors that go into.

It is it career length and, exclusivity is it the team?

History is it the coach and player influence not only
from a winning, perspective but even just looking at like
a college, perspective, RIGHT i mean there's something to be.
Said yes it's about, winning but the longevity of that
coach with a or a player with a particular. Team
so there's all types of scenarios that go into. It

and it just made me, think, Though, okay let's let's
take a look at some of the legends that are
synonymous synonymous with their, team and there's you can easily
start going down the, list and these are the ones
that just popped up into my head. Initially AND i
want to hear, yours tray okay again and we probably

are going to have a lot of the SAME i,
think so, yeah, Yes so for, me you know Where
i'm going first as a basketball, guy as a guy
who believes the goat is one particular guy that war
number twenty three in red and.

Yeah WHEN i think Of Michael, JORDAN i think Of Chicago.
Bulls WHEN i think of The Chicago, BULLS i think
Of Michael. Jordan and it's pretty. SIMPLE i don't know
if you have to explain much more than. That SIX nba,
titles five, MVPs ten scoring, Titles Air, jordan, Yep you
can't Picture Air jordan without picturing The Chicago.

Right AND i think we'll also see a little bit

Organization maybe that's the organization that they made the biggest impact.
ON i don't, Know but In jordan's, case it's The.
Bulls you don't think about him with any other team or.
Anything he went out and played. Baseball you don't think
About jordan and.

jordan And North.

Carolina that's, true just because he was, there won a
national championship as a, freshman and is associated with the
game winning shot all of. That but at the end
of the, day it's when you Think Michael jordan you
think of HIS nba, Career, yes and THAT nba career
with The chicago Bull, yes there's something to be said about.

That but a player that SOMETIMES i think will get.
Overlooked and this is a little bit down the. List
i've got some other. Ones but you talked about what
team is associated with this, player even though he might
spend other years right with another, team and That's Brett, oh,
yes but The Green Bay. Packers he spent time with

The New York, jets. Right what about The Minnesota? Vikings,
oh so close to really getting them over the hump
there in the playoffs getting to the Super, bowl not
for an interception that he. Had but when you think
Of Brett, farv you think of The Green Bay packers
right exactly. NOW i don't know if you think of
The Green Bay. Packers do you think Of Brett?

like if you're thinking just purely, QUARTERBACK i feel like
recency bias would Be Aaron rodgers because he's the most,

Another Super, bowl would that have been viewed? Differently would

AND i would almost say that part of, me WHEN

like A Bill walsh or A Jerry. Rice and maybe

Position so that's something within, itself you know what triggers
the psychology of us to associate a player with a
team or a team with a player and potentially based
on their, position, right because my first thought.

You would go maybe maybe they won a lot, there
or maybe that's where they won Their Super bowl or.
Whatever but you just cover With Tom, brady he went

at an elite, level and we still don't think About Tampa.
