Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey, what are boxing fans. This is the rope a
Dope Radio podcast. I am your host, Chris Carlson. We
got a lot to talk about. Obviously, we will talk about,
you know, the Zone card, ESPN. I guess ESPN knockout
with Martinez and Ioki a closer fight, this fight pro

(00:25):
box lubing with the knockout. So we're gonna recap some
of the items. Obviously, the Navarete decision with the cut,
whether it was a punch which it looked like a
left hand. People saying head clash, I would probably if

(00:47):
I'm gonna not call it a punch, I would probably
go off the glub. The tape of the club was
kind of in that area, much longer than the head clash,
but you know, it looked like a punch to meat.
But anyway, you know, they will appeal that, or they
already in the process of appealing that. So we're gonna
talk it through a little bit. John, I believe will
be able to join. I'll find out here very soon

(01:11):
and this week, and it's pretty light. Fisher and Alan
the rematch, which you could argue that Allan won the
first fight. That's probably the closest match coming up this weekend.
There is as far as you know, boxing news, fight news,

(01:32):
in a little boxing Twitter, of course, Canello Crawford sounds
like it's not gonna be on Netflix, or it is,
or it's not or it is. It doesn't seem like
it's going to seems like it was, you know, announced
as a do Zonne pay per view, but now it

(01:54):
may not be. I really don't know. But the location
all of a sudden is to be an I guess
Dana White didn't look like the Allegiance Stadium and it's
just kind of weird. It's kind of weird. Speaking of stadiums, though,
Tennis Stadium is a location in New York City for

(02:16):
a fight coming up, we'll talk about that pak Yaw.
We knew pak Yao was coming back. There were some
fairly strong rumors that not only was he gonna come back,
not only you know, of course, he was gonna fight Barrio.
So we kind of knew that for a while. But
there was some strong rumors that I was hoping that

(02:38):
it would be on Amazon. I was kind of surprised,
but I was I was looking forward to it being
on Amazon, not on pay per view, but that those
that dream is gone. The WBC, of course, made themselves
look stupid once again, and that's not you know, that's

(03:01):
not to just look at the WBC and criticize them.
There's plenty. I mean, the IBF produced Canelos Mando and
and you got to look at Canelo's Nando in the ring.
But anyway, we're gonna talk it through. If it's your
first time listening to the Ropodope Radio podcast, Welcome. It's
available on Apple podcast, iHeartRadio, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Amazon Music

(03:25):
Player FM. We talked boxing, of course, but you know
some football and basketball going on as well throughout the year.
Right now, of course we're on basketball while you're at it,
head on over to the groellingtruth dot com east Side

(04:09):

in to you know, a really good what two years? Like,
it's yeah, two years. The choice packages includes FanDuel and
SEC network is seventy nine for the first month, and

(04:34):
the ultimate package that includes over one hundred and sixty
channels is one hundred and seventy or one hundred and
seven ninety eight for the first month. But you can
try it free, like I said, so you know, take
a gander see if you like it. Get five days
to mess around on the things, so you know, give
it a try, Give it a try, all right, So

(04:57):
I do want to start with Fernando Martinez. Okay, Martinez,
ioka too. Hell of a fight, definitely, I thought a
lot more competitive than the first fight. I guess I'm
not shocked at that. But although the first one was
entertaining and all, it definitely was, this one was more competitive,

(05:20):
no doubt about that. So kind of in the early going,
you had Martinez establishing his jab. I thought that was
kind of the better weapon if you compare both of
their jabs. Both men were working the body throughout the fight,
sticking with kind of round one, round two, and just

(05:42):
in general, I suppose Martinez landing the right hand in
right uppercuts Ioki was kind of Ioka was kind of
landing a fair amount of hooks, like I said, going
to the body and whatnot. Round two or round two three,
just kind of the early goings more jab right hands

(06:02):
to the head. But it did see Ioka land like
a bunch of left hook counters and eventually that scored
a knockdown. But there was a lot of back and
forth throughout the fight, but especially early and late the
overhand rights with the left hook combo was pretty good.

(06:24):
Left hook going to the body was really big. With
that pressure from Martinez Ioka. Rioka throughout the fight actually
would at times start bringing the pressure, you know, bringing
pressure of his own behind his jab. I did think
early in mid rounds there was time, especially maybe in

(06:44):
the mid rounds where Ioka got hurt and more than
once in this fight, but you know, not like he
was almost out. Ioka, you know, was able to get
back on his jab and like I said, bring his
own pressure. Martinez a key, like I said, was a

(07:05):
jeb but also the one two, and you could start
to see Ioka also unlocking his short straight right hand
to go along with that left hook, and just throughout
this fight, like I said, exchanges all over the place,
and that left hook along with the right hand, the
left hook going to the body in head. For Ioka

(07:27):
was really doing his thing. And the tenth round, the
left hook dropped him, and Martinez did look hurt. He
definitely looked hurt for a little while, whether he was
hurt or gassed or both of them. But you know,
he did recoop. He definitely recooped. So looking at my scorecard,
I have Ioka winning. Let's see, either four or five

(07:52):
of the first six rounds. And I thought once you
got close to the eighth, I gave the seventh round
to Martinez as well. But from the eighth to the twelfth,
that's where it got really really interesting. I gave Ioka
the eighth round. I thought the ninth round was very competitive,

(08:14):
could have went either way, I did. I think I
scored it for Martinez though. Look but either way the
tenth round, ten, eighth round, right, and and I also
thought you could definitely say he won. Ioka won the eleventh,
Now did he win? You know? I thought the twelfth

(08:36):
was really close too. I thought you could have gave
Ioka that that round too, but the scorecards had it
one seventeen, one, ten, one, fifteen, one, twelve and one
fourteen one thirteen, And you know, I think seven of
five is pretty fair, So I would have had I

(08:58):
had I did have Martinez barely winning. But like I said,
those first seven rounds I thought Ioka. I'm not saying
he lost all those, right, but I do think you
know that he I just don't think he was doing

(09:18):
the better work. Like I said, there was a lot
of exchanges, but the pressure him winning the jack contest,
I don't know. I thought it was a really competitive fight.
I didn't think it would be this razor close. I
will say that I favored Martinez by like, you know,

(09:40):
a fair amount. I did think he won, but just
by the hair of his skinny skin skin. So I
don't know. Some folks that Ioka got screwed. I think
of the scorecards he did on you know, at least
one of them, I would say that eight to four.

(10:01):
I don't know I would give him more than eight
to four. And you know, as we know, if you
had it six six, well you'd have to give it dioke.
So I wouldn't mind seeing a trilogy, to be honest
with you, Like I said, even the first fight, it
was still fun to watch, you know what I mean,
And these two styles just match up.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
You know.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Another highlight from that card was Hyoti Is it Hyoto Hyoto?
Uh sue me or something like that. He's he's a
prospect right now, but he's moving pretty fast. He scored
I think it was a third round t ko over
a vet in Arbeletta, and he just beat Alvarado not

(10:49):
long ago. So I'd say he's more of a contender,
you know, than than a prospect, just because of you know,
he's fought some solid guys and maybe like a rising contender.
We'll call it that. We won't necessarily, you know.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
Call him like, Okay, he's the second best guy in
his division this second, right, but.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
He looked damn good. He's up and coming. But yeah, overall,
it was a great fight in that main event, and
why not do it? Why not do it again? Why
not do it again? That's what I say, all right.
So talking about Kakachi versus Wood, right, I thought Kikachi

(11:38):
pretty much handled this this fight, even like right away,
coming with the left hooks off the rope. He landed
this early in mid round, he was layding left hooks,
but he landed this left hook off the rope that
was really clean, and you know, landing these flush shots.
He was snapping the neck of budd, you know, over

(12:00):
and over again. I thought the second round was very close.
I thought it was competitive at least, but I thought
the Kakachi landed u you know, just a few more
well timed right hands and maybe one of them buzzed them.
Third round, I gave to Kokachi the jabs and more

(12:27):
lead right hands, but I thought would started to I
thought his best two rounds may have been the fourth
and the fifth. I gave him the fourth he started
getting his own jack going and then the right to
the body and laid in that fourth round a big
right hand to the head. I thought he won that.
Another close round was the fifth round. I thought, I

(12:51):
thought that was pretty close. Actually, you know, the hooks
and the uppercuts and early combinations from Kakachi, you know,
the knockdown the ropes helped them. There was a there
was was that the realm Let me double check word,

(13:13):
let me double shit. I don't, yeah, there wasn't. There
wasn't a knockdown there, But I think you could have
made a you could have made a little argument for it,
but sixth round kind of got back into it, not
back into it, kind of took over the fight again.

(13:34):
Kakacha did, you know, using his stiff jab right hands
landing flush and he did have like a nasty left
hook as well, that was really doing the thing, and
you know, pretty much took it over from there, you know,
or took it back over, I should say. And actually

(13:56):
it was was the ninth I think the ninth round
there was or not. That's what I got to confuse.
I'm looking at my scorecard right now. I got that confused.
That was later in the fight. Yeah, and I can
see why it did, just the way my scorecard's kind
of scribbling over here. But yeah, the knockdown, it seemed like,

(14:19):
you know, it helped the ropes obviously in the corner
throw in the towel. But yeah, he basically, I don't know,
like the eighth round, he was doing good in you
know at times and in some of the other you know,
I just think once the seventh and eighth came around
sixth seventh and eighth, I think he just took over

(14:41):
the fight again and Kakachi got him out of there,
and I know, Wood look like he was taking it
kind of hard or whatever. Pause, but you know, I
thought the corner made an alright decision. I mean there
was a lot of rounds left. There was even time
in the rounds, so you know, it is what it is.

(15:02):
It is what it is. So you know, nice win,
no doubt. Liam Davies one Soda Desra Taylor Ohen Cooper
beat Congo. That was that was kind of a closely
my match fight if I remember going in. So yeah, Kokachi,

(15:25):
you know, I don't really know beyond like this level
and a little bit low and just a domestic UK level.
Could he keep doing his thing? Yeah? Why not? I
mean he had some success and whatnot. But overall, you know,
I think he's kinda he's kind of on the downslide. Kikachi,

(15:48):
We'll see. You know, he talks about some fights with
the Shaki Foster or others, but he was offered some
of these fights. We'll see if he takes him this time.
Moving on to the ESPN card, Andres Cortez did his thing,

(16:08):
so did Raymond Murtaya. We'll talk a little bit about him,
but I want to focus in on the you know,
Novarete sores fight right, A lot of controversy for good reason,
but it was it was. It was a fun fight. Though,

(16:30):
like I hope they do it again. It sounds like
Suarez is already uh, you know, gone through the uh
necessary procedures to uh, you know, to get this thing. Basically,
let's strike it from the record and and uh in
a sense anyway, make it a no contest and get

(16:54):
his rematch, you know, because he definitely deserves it. The
first two rounds I gave to Noavarette, the jab, the
clean right hands, you know, his patent upper cut in
the first minute or whatever, and pretty quickly, you know,

(17:16):
Suarez was was bleeding from the mouth, so that happened
pretty quickly. There was back and forth in the second round,
but I thought it was a close. Round three I
gave to Suarez, But the fourth and fifth I gave
the Navarette, these little flurries in the last minute body work,
no doubt. It's not like Suarez wasn't firing back both landing,

(17:40):
you know, to the head and body, because he was.
He definitely was. Even in the fifth round. You know,
he had success to close especially I think with some
body shots that fifth round. But the left upper cut, combinations,
land in the right hand, the jab and all that.
You know, that's where it. I did favor, so I

(18:01):
gave him, I'm looking at my shirt guard. I gave
him four out of the first five. However, more as
there were some wild exchanges in the six round, I
thought he got the better of those were as no
Navada closed the search round really well. But that's the

(18:23):
round where you know, there was a cut and it
looked like it got ruled as a head clash, as
we know, but it got it looked like it was incorrect,
looked like the left hand landed. Now some people say, oh,
there's a head clash. They kept talking about the head clash. Well,
if you're gonna say it was something other than a

(18:44):
left hand punch, I would actually say, like I said
at the top of the show, that the glove, like
the wrist part of the glove where you have to tape,
if anything, that was because that was there for longer
in my opinion, and that could have scraped it open.
But I don't think it did. But I'm saying if

(19:07):
you had those three things, a punch, a head clash
in the scraping from the glove, because we've seen that too.
That tape. You know, if you if you get it right,
it can't do that. I don't think that happened. But
if I had to choose between a head clash or
a head scrape and just getting scraped by the glove
the tape, I would go with the glove and the

(19:29):
tape on the wrist. But I think it was a
left hand. I don't. I don't think, you know. I
just think it needs to happen again because he got
screwed and it was a big cut. It was kind
of high up above his eye, but it was just
leaking and he was repeatedly having to wipe it. Sworez.
So he won the sixth round for sure. Like I said,

(19:51):
I gave him the third round in a close run.
I gave him the seventh round the left hooks to
the body and head. Although there was you know, some
late combinations by Navarette. You know, I had Navarette four
to three when they stopped the fight. Two judges had
at seventy seven seventy six, one head a seventy eight
seventy five. I just hope they do the right thing,

(20:12):
because I do think it was a hell of a
fight being that we still had, you know, multiple rounds
to go. You know, both guys were going on the
body in sporas actually outlanded. I'm thirty three to twenty three,
just threw those rounds to the body. So, like I mentioned,

(20:33):
it sounds like he's going through you know, the stuff
you have to go through. And I'm assuming they're gonna
be at least that. I don't know, it's like they
they have review. I guess that is the frustrating part.
But it's think about it in football, right, how it's basketball,

(20:57):
how it's called on the field of their work. Sometimes
if it's a close call and you could say, well,
I guess I guess that, you know what I mean,
I I guess it. It may well, I don't get
I know it. It's it's harder to overturn it. But

(21:19):
I don't think that, like I said, those three options
that were laid out, I don't think that's really I
think that's a that's a pretty easy option to say
that was a punch, you know what I mean. I
really don't think that that's some kind of deep thinking thing.

(21:42):
And it should be you know obviously, you know, can
you now change it to a win? You know, no,
I don't think he can do that either. And now
you could say, well, he you know, they stopped the
fight because the cut, and so he shouldn't want to
I get that, But I don't think you can go in,

(22:05):
you know and just change shit, you know like that.
You should make it a no contest, and you know
it should be a rematch. It should be a rematch
all the way. So I hope that happens. I really
do hope that happens. But so John just texted me

(22:27):
saying he's not gonna be able to make it, so
that's a bummer. But you know, I wasn't able to
make it yesterday, so you know, he was ready last night.
So it is what it is. So yeah, let's hope
they get the rematch. That that's that's what I'm hoping,
because Warez was really coming on and it wasn't just

(22:47):
a cut. You know, it wasn't just a cut. And
now that he's been in there, you know that helps too. Martaya,
like I said, definitely a wide decision win, very clean, solid,
workmanlike performance. Didn't knock him out. But you know, but

(23:07):
two of the scorecards had it one nineteen one on
nine when I had it one eighteen one ten. Now
he'd be I think that was an intro IBF and
it's sounds and so he is the mando for Vasili Lomachenko. Uh,
it's expected to be called August eighth. So you know,

(23:33):
we'll see if in fact that does get called, and
we'll see what's up with Loma, you know, like, is
he gonna keep boxing? Is he you know, what's what's
going on? You know, I know, you know he had
a little injury. He was nursing and surgery or whatever.
But I don't know, but we're gonna find out. We're

(23:55):
gonna find out. We're gonna see where that goes. I
don't know for a fact what's gonna happen, but at
least it puts some sort of pressure on to make
a decision, you know. But that's that's about all I

(24:16):
could add to that. That's all I could add to that.
But it was workman like. I thought it was a
solid performance. It was a clean wind, There was no
there wasn't a whole lot of not that in all
of his fights. There's been a bunch of issues, but
there has been lately where you're like, and not just
last fight or whatever. But where you're starting to go,

(24:37):
you know, I don't know, like it seems like he did.
I don't know. I just not looking as good, you know.
But yeah, that was workman like and we'll see. Maybe
that'll be the fight that Loma would come back to
and then look for a big fight instead of just

(24:58):
jumping into it. Or maybe you'll retire, you know, and
if that's the case, then you know, you might as
well just free up that belt. You got an interm belt.
But I don't know, I mean, August eighth, they're gonna
call it, Well then are you just gonna chill for
a little bit and see what happens? You know, more

(25:21):
than likely they'll know before that. It's my guess, you know,
So we'll see how that goes. So I couldn't find
my scorecard from the first fight with David Allen and
Johnny Fisher, But like I said, it was a close,

(25:42):
close decision. I think it was a split decision loss
for David Allen ninety four two of them in the
ninety six ninety three in his way, and I personally,
I you know, I think I don't know if I
had Allan went in for sure, i'dam in just fine

(26:04):
with a draw, but there's an argument to be had
for both, I would say, But I don't know the
second half of the fight, it just felt like it
was all alan. Like I remember the first let's say,
three four rounds definitely, you know, definitely going Fisher's way right,

(26:29):
no doubt. But in the fifth round, we know there
was a knockdown on Fisher. And you know, I'm not
gonna sit here and say that he lost every single
round past that, but you can make that argument. You know,
you could make a pretty strong argument in my opinion.

(26:51):
So you know, I'd have been okay with a dry,
I guess, But I I did think David Allen one.
Now he's been through the Ringer a bunch of times.
You know, Fisher, the unbeaten guy. I think he's now
what thirteen to oh after that last win. You know,

(27:14):
things didn't go well for him in that fight, so
I do give him credit for coming right back, so
we'll see. You know, I do think Fisher can make
enough improvements in my opinion, but I think it is

(27:39):
a toss up. I think it is a toss up
in minor stuff like how do they look in the
scale or maybe even you know, I haven't dug into
too much pressure stuff, and you know, listen to a
couple of interviews and see if if Fisher really come clean.
I remember as after the fight, like an interview maybe

(28:03):
a few days after the fight, it did seem like
he he admitted he could make a lot of he
could make changes. And so, like I said, I do
want to before I put any kind of bet, because
you know, David Allen right now, I'm FanDuel plus one
eighty eight, you see, and the rest I see is

(28:24):
over two hundred plus two hundred. So I do think
there is value in that pick. I really do, but
I'm not I actually think that I don't know, man,
I'm stuck on this one. As you can tell. It's
just with these it's like he overachieved. And so so

(28:53):
if I thought David Allen won the first fight and
he didn't you know the scorecards, I that I think
Johnny Fisher beyond you know, not getting knocked down, I
think he can make more improvements, let's say. And so
if you know, if they didn't give Allen the first fight,

(29:17):
and I feel like he's the guy who could maybe
knock get knocked down and close better, not even a
major amount better, you know, like nothing substantial, just a
little better when like you know, go three and three.
Well it's not a twelve round fight, but you know
what I'm saying, like, win a few rounds because I

(29:40):
don't remember giving him too many rounds after that knockdown.
So if he just finishes better, I think, whether we
think or who thinks that, how the outcome is. I
just feel like they're gonna give it to him, you know,
because you know, why wouldn't they have just given a

(30:03):
hell on the fight then, because I thought he won
or at least the drawn. So I am gonna, like,
I'm I'm really eyeballing that. You know what I'm gonna
put I'm gonna try to find the highest odds plus
number and just put it on David Allen too. But
if you balance it with Johnny Fisher by decision, you know,

(30:26):
that might be the way to go. I'm gonna I'm
gonna actually check that out where I can see, because
I don't know. These are the ones where you gotta
kind of look at the boxing politics too. I mean,
I guess you always have to do that, but like

(30:47):
this one in particular. It's like when when an underdog,
a sizeable underdog at that, when you feel like he
won and they didn't even give it to him, and
you know, dude got knocked down, then how is he
gonna win the rematch? You know? Like that. I just
that's where I'm a little like as far as predictions,

(31:09):
I'm a little like, I don't know, so so David Allen, Okay,
so by decision, Fisher by the decision is plus one
sixty four and Ellen by decision is plus four seventy

(31:30):
Ko plus five sixty So I don't know, man, this
is I honestly, I just you know, I'd say, oh,
put the money on on Ellen by decision, but let
he get that, you know, I don't know. So I

(31:52):
think that whenever you got a bunch of plus numbers though,
that is a positive, you know, so you can, you know,
put the most money on you know what you really
think is gonna happen, but it is, this is a
fight that you can kind of balance it out and
you could back up your bets. So we also have

(32:18):
did you do do we do have? What else we got? Oh?
We got Fox and Boachuck. I think Boachuk is gonna
beat him pretty clean. You know, there's there's not a
son of you know, Fernando Vargus Juniors coming back. He's
in who knows, maybe it'll be a competitive fight, but uh,

(32:40):
he's a clear favorite, that's for sure. So I think
that's probably the best odds close one of the closest
odds I think, because there was a closer odds fights.
But those fights actually are taking place right now, are
already already happened. I haven't seen it yet. Sam Goodman,
I got cut. He was a pretty clean favorite. I

(33:05):
remember that. Let me Actually, I'm on pro boxing odds
right now. Yeah, he was, depending on which site the
lowestness plus two sixty, but you could have got the
guy for plus thirty three forty two. But yeah, a
little bit more of So I got Boa Chuck to

(33:26):
do his thing. You know, I'm gonna bet on Allen,
but I think I'm gonna big Fisher by decision. I
don't think he'll stop him, but I just I just
feel like kind of the points I been't make it,
I'm kind of retreading it right, So we'll see, we'll
see how that goes. Other than that, like I said,

(33:51):
kind of kind of a light weekend. You do have
that that poet Chuck Fox fighter is on UFC Fight Pass,
the Alan Fisher Part two is the Zone and you
have you do have Harper Zimmerman on the Zone. Oh wait, no, no, no,

(34:15):
that that's next weekend. Yeah, I'm dripping, I'm dripping. Yeah,
I bet are decats the next weekend. Not that next
weekends like crazy, but there might be some underrated stuff
coming up, but we gotta I think we get definitely.
I don't want to get into June just yet because
you know, I live in a cold weather state and

(34:37):
it's been gorgeous. Dude. We've got like ten days of sun. Now,
you know, we got a storm coming in tomorrow and
the temperature's gonna drop off. But we hit like ninety
the other day and it was gorgeous because it's only
like twenty five percent humidity. So anyway, I don't want
to hear about Jun. Ye. I'm still enjoying spring, is

(34:58):
the point. So onto news Canelo Crawford. We heard is
in the stadium in Las Vegas, right Allegiance Stadium, and
then we just kind of heard that it's not gonna
be there maybe or it's gonna get announced or it's

(35:18):
either gonna be Los Angeles, New York or Vegas. And
it's like, Okay, why didn't you just get this ship
figured out and then announce it? You know that that
that kind of threw me off a little bit. Yeah,

(35:40):
because even he told Ring magazine Mike Coppinger, who you know,
and they changed the date. They changed it. Now it's
going to take place on Saturday. But he was like,
it's such a super fight, we can't do it on Saturday. Bro,
It's gotta be Friday. And plus there was a college
football game in the stadium, So yeah, bro, but it's
a super fights that we're gonna switch it to Friday.

(36:02):
That's what he said. Now I do I did? You know,
I always kind of inputed the net if it's gonna
be on Netflix, and they've done, they're gonna do their
second Friday show. If Netflix wants it on Friday, then
let's fucking put it on Friday. But you know, Dana's like,

(36:23):
he don't like the stadium. I hate it, basically was
his quote. I don't like the stadium. Obviously, stadiums, as
much as fans don't realize, sometimes stadiums do take away
some of your revenue. But it's just the vibe, right,
It's the atmosphere. And nowadays, you know, you have these

(36:45):
huge fucking screens. Hey, if you gotta pay fifty or
one hundred or one hundred and fifty to get in
there and be amongst tens of thousands of people and
you can look up at the screen for the most part,
or you got binoculars, it still would be a good vibe,
you know. But yeah, it sounds like it's gonna be
on September thirteenth. And like I said, La New York, Vegas,

(37:06):
whichever five potentially sites present the best deal where you
might as well stop right there, but you might. If
it just comes down to the best deal, then you
know it's going to Vegas. And basically, you know, Turkey said,
he I decide the Ring Magazine. You know, he's decided

(37:31):
that the Ring Magazine super Middleweight Championship is going to
be on rehod season pay per view events, so it's
not on Netflix, which once they announced the fight and
didn't say what it was going to be on, I
knew that. I just felt like it wasn't gonna be
on Netflix. But he also he said TBA on where

(37:56):
it's the location. But he also said in the NETWHEK.
You know, he left the door open for the network.
I don't know, man, like I understand why it would
be on pay per view. You know that if any
fight's going to be on pay per view, that fight
will should be right. So I'm not I would never

(38:17):
rip it that it's on pay per view, but if
you have a chance to put it on Netflix, put
that bad Boy on Netflix. Dude, that would be the
third fight they've done in less than a year because
they got a banger coming up, you know. So it's

(38:37):
pretty disappointing. I don't think it'd be as disappointing if
we didn't if it wasn't fairly well reported, then it
was gonna be on Netflix. Now maybe it sounds like
Max is going back to HBO Max, and there is
rumors that Top Rank will do a partial deal with

(39:00):
with them, whether they'll do some on the Zone or
you know, we've heard lineal, some sort of basic cable lineal.
We've heard HBO Max what it's going to be turned
into HBO Maxican. They never should have switched the name anyway,
But they're talking about Top Rank is going to be
maybe on three different outlets and split it up, but

(39:23):
overall more cards than they had. So whether that's them
doing the cards like more cards within their own or
within their own you know stable, or you know, using
that UK hookup to where some of the cards are
that too, I don't know, but it is disappointing that

(39:46):
it wouldn't beyond that. And now TKO is just bumped
out of the way. So Turkey clearly like Hassoft skin,
that deserves a possible But I'll just stop it at there. So, yeah,

(40:08):
what else have we got here? Here? Here's a little
mix of boxing Twitter too, Dan the boxing Man. So
the kickoff press conference to hype up the US casual
audience to buy the pay per view will be in
Saudi Arabia. It's like, yeah, that's a good point. That's
a really good point. Well in the world. But anyway,

(40:30):
I hope that you know, he mentioned you know, who's
ever got the best deal? But it seemed like he
opened he left the door open a little bit with
the platform. But if it's on here's the thing. I
will be disappointed if it's just on his own paper
view because you know, you should do enough fights on

(40:56):
the undercard that have. You know, I guess by September
they won't have the ESPN deal, so it won't be
on ESPN Plus. It's not that you can't make that
fight available on ESPN Plus though on Amazon on like
Cable two, right, just Cable there's a cable pay per

(41:16):
view on demand. Shit, Like, there's really no point in
closing the door like that. And if you are going
to close the door and just put it on his
own pay per view and maybe you give a free
month out or whatever or whatever, it's just like it
goes back to why would you have double pay per views?
Then why didn't you just have one of them free?

(41:40):
In one of them pay per view, you know, two
weeks ago. I just I don't know, man, it's scared
a week ago whatever. It's that's that part's a little
frustrated because I'm not I don't even want to get
into it anymore almost, you know, because the zone just
doesn't have a lot of traction here, dude. And it's
like I'm repeating myself, but it's just true. I just

(42:02):
don't understand why you wouldn't make it more widely available.
And I'm not just talking about pay per view dot com.
You know, I'm saying the widest possible put that shit
on two B. Maybe two B wouldn't be a good
place to put a pay per view. But we'll see
the marketing on this, you know, we'll see the marketing

(42:23):
on this. And now he's like, well, who's ever going
to give the most money? That's where the fight's gonna go. Well,
once again, that sounds more like traditional boxing we've gotten
for quite quite many, quite a many decades. And I'm
not ripping that. But if you're supposed to change boxing,

(42:45):
so the biggest so you now you are worried about money? Okay,
so it's not unlimited. Did you know as someone pulling
the strings from him and saying, hey, dude, that was
a debacle you did? You know? Not long ago in
New York and in siety really, so, I don't know.

(43:06):
Here's a very positive thing. And I saw this on
Ring Magazine July twelfth. The venue for the Stevenson's Epada
in Berlanga and Charras and other good fights will take
place in the Lewis Armstrong Stadium in Queens. So you know,

(43:38):
just looking at the venue right, Wait, is that it's
the Louis Armstrong. Is that is that for sure? But anyway,
that's a great that looks like to me, that looks
like a great place to watch a fight. I mean,
it's right there and we've seen it with uh, you know,

(44:05):
whatever you want to call it. Should I still can
call it the Home Depot Center arena, like that is
an ideal place for that. In my opinion, I think
that is a great place for it. It's in New York,
and so Stevenson and Berlanga both have that New York
East Coast, that area, you know, thing going on. So

(44:28):
I really like it. I think that's I really like
the card. Now that's a pay per view. That's another
pay per view, I think, right, it's just nothing but
pay per views. Now it feels like it's too bad
that card can't be on. So but I'm not sure

(44:51):
about that. I can't remember. I'm just assuming pay per views,
so hey, message me if I'm wrong. But I love
the venue. I think the venue as long as they
price it right, I think it'll be a great crowd
and it's you know, taking advantage of the summer. And yeah,

(45:11):
that'd be dope. I'd be really dope. Let's see here's
some other news. Oh uh oh pack okay, so pack yelm.
Barrios gonna be on Amazon paper not just on Amazon.
I was hoping that Amazon would say, hey, pac Yoos,
even though his name is quite faded, it's still a name,

(45:35):
and maybe they would try to parlay some you know,
some subscriptions some what are not less say subscriptions, like
people are gonna just hey, dude, pack yeo's fighting, you know,
and he's gonna add you know, thirty million subscribers to Amazon.
I'm not saying that, but just get a good rating

(45:56):
off of it, you know. But that's not the case.
Let's just hope they stacked on their card that that's
really the biggest thing in the WBC at first ranked
I think it was fifth, they ranked back yew fifth.
You know, boxers do what they want to do, what

(46:17):
comes to retirement or not retiring whatever. Like Roy Jones,
many people say he stained his legacy, and I do
think he stained it to an extent, because even if
it was like something he did off or outside the ring,

(46:39):
I still think that would be less than what's going
on in the ring. But we know, you know, we
knew he was out of his prime for a long
long time, and I got to the point where I
just didn't want to watch the fights anymore, you know,
or i'd watch him after I knew he was okay,
you know, but pack yew. Let's be honest, he looked

(47:00):
like against us. I saw some clips, just highlight clips
of that exhibition that looked good. You know, I don't,
like I said, they gotta really hook up the undercard now.
Pakia is one of those guys that I know multiple
dudes that just whatever whoever he fights, he can fight

(47:21):
Mike Dice and he can fight anybody. And they're gonna,
you know, I'm gonna hang out with them and watch
the fight. I'm not paying for that. But let's hope
they hook up the undergard that's it. And I'm not
even like, I get the Barrios angle. You know, why
wouldn't you fight him if you're Brios. I get that,
you know, And maybe if he looked good then he

(47:42):
could be even a better opponent for somebody. But you know,
the WBC they'll rank in him is just so it
could be for the WBC is just funny and not
not really though it does look like, oh there's a fight.

(48:03):
So Savannah Marshall did get signed to Jake Paul's promotional
outfit and she's got a fight with Shadejah Green. It's
for uh unification. It sounds like it will take place

(48:27):
July eleventh, m MSG on the under card. That's scored
on the tailors on him. So I don't know how
great of a fight it will be, to be honest,
but h Marshall's a good signing. I will say that
I think Marshall's are really good signing. So you know

(48:50):
there is that. Let's see here. I saw this scoop
alert on brunch Boxing shouts out at Bruns botching matt
Ezra the Mexican allahm and everybody else that over the
Huey TGB Promotions Premiere Boxing Champions have put a hole
on the Team Mobile arena for August sixteenth. It sounds like,

(49:14):
you know that may be tabbed for the Davis Roach
Junior undercard. Sorry pay per view. I also heard from
brumps Boxing or saw it on Twitter that they know
there's a lot of pay per views and so they're gonna,
you know, hook up the under cards and that you

(49:35):
know that's a must. Okay, So this is also from
a ring magazine, Frank Warren has told the ring that
if Chiras is to overcome Berlanga, which if he can't wow,
then he could see him standing a good chance at
beating Canelo, not just fighting them, because you know, a

(49:57):
big Berlanga win that would pump up, that would pump
up everybody. Twenty this is his quote. Twenty years as
a pro what. Oh yeah, he's been doing it since
he was a kid. And it's a funny thing. You
look at him and you think yourself, if Amas Sharaz
could be Berlangan, then I gotta fail. I gotta fancy
him to have a chance of beating Canelo. And that

(50:19):
is one of those fights that if in fact that's
one of the fights next year, it's a shitty fucking fight.
And if it ends up Chias and then fucking U
Bank Junior, and that's your two fights four twenty twenty six. Wow, Ganilo,
I get it, man, I get it. You're making a

(50:42):
lot of money, do you, But Wow, don't don't tell
me that the dude you just spot last is a
great fighter like you did. Now, you don't have to
call him a bum. You know you are fighting there
Are you really trying to sell the paper? Though? I
don't think so. It's made so much up from money
at that point. But uh, I'm telling you, dude, Ah,

(51:08):
it'll be a lot of fights that I won't Now,
I'll buy the Canelo Crawford.

Speaker 2 (51:13):
Paper, but I'm gonna watch it with a group of people.
But I wish they put that shit in the theater. Anyway,
what else we got here? Oh, here's Oscar so hear
me out. Crawford will be thirty eight, Canelo will be
thirty five.

Speaker 1 (51:31):
Crawford has fun in the year and got exposed by Mantramov.
In his opinion, Canelo has been has been getting exposed
for the past few years. He hasn't been getting exposed.
He's been getting exposed.

Speaker 3 (51:43):
Not to why I want to fight Benavidez, but I
don't think he's been getting exposed like in the ring
besides Bivel.

Speaker 1 (51:51):
Can anyone please explain to me how this is the
biggest fight in boxing. Well, that's pretty easy, but the
biggest fighting boxing, man. I mean, you can make an
argument that Taylor and Serrano, well it's not even an argument.
It would get more viewership because it's on Netflix. That's
not like a big you know, a big thing, and

(52:15):
it's true it would get more viewership. That's that. Espinosa
on Twitter responding to someone saying, with all due respect
dead excuse me, that is like yawning there, with all
due respect dan, no combat sports fans paying their hard
earned money to go watch boxing, that's Espinosa quote that

(52:37):
we didn't say so the solout crowd of nineteen over
nineteen thousand, that was all non combat sports fans, like
they've proven that they can. Okay, that's just stupid. Now
speaking of Oscar on ig he did you know have
a handshake and Moji Golden Boy premiere ready to make history.

(52:59):
So you know what people are asking, what does that mean?
Who are they gonna fight? Who they fight? You know?
How many? How many fights between them can they make
or is it just they're just doing one offs and whatnot.
I don't know. A lot of people are talking about
zerdo so we'll see, we'll see where that goes. I

(53:26):
see this. I'm Jake Donovan on his Twitter feed talking
about the most Valuable Promotions. Chantel Cameron along with Savannah Marshall,
wo was also part of that sign I did forget
to mention that, Uh, here's fred boxing tickets at Boxing Tics.

(53:49):
There are no official tickets on sale for Canelo Crawford.
Ticketmaster handles the Allegiance Stadium. People are able less resale
on ax s. These are usually the Alliance or Allegiance
season ticket holders. They have an option to buy the
event or look to flip it. So if anyone bought

(54:10):
a ticket, that's who you bought it from. So yeah, Oh,
by the way, I forgot to mention Eric said Lubin
is now the mando for Bakram because he scored what
was an eleventh knockout, eleventh round knockout. He handled his
business in that fight on that pro box. I did

(54:30):
forget to mention that someone actually sent me a message.
You know, I like Lubin. I get it he's channing,
but as far as like just mixing it up at
fifty four, Like, that's a tough fight for him being
a mandol for that dude. But it's a hell of
a fight and Lubin comes the fight. You know, he's

(54:52):
got power of his own, or at least pop. So yeah,
I thought he looked pretty good, especially considering how long
he was off. I think you have to put that
into there too. This is boxing, Esquire saying that looks
like a punch to me. That that's what a tweet
somebody tweeted that. Talking about the novarette thing, he says,

(55:14):
you can see it plain his day. There's no headbutt.
The tapa Hira's head makes no contact. They more rub
facious than class heads. That one caused that nasty of
you know, a cut. Yeah, I agree, that's pretty easy.
Jim Cross talked about sum Me. I think that's what

(55:36):
it is. Pyoto might be the best kept secret of
boxing outside of Japan. When a fighter, Yeah, because he
did dominate. He did, he did his thing. Sean Zitzel
Toppering might be thinking about positioning Quartes for a shot
at the novarette title. How about unifications instead? How long

(55:57):
is Navarette and Foster going to be under the same
umbrella and not attempting unification? That is true, However, I
do think that he owes somebody a rematch. Oh and
then Teo Femo sounded like he dropped an m BO
M bomb with a hard R. He said it was liquor.

(56:19):
But this is just a classic classic ignorant. I mean,
he said ignorant. Slash racious statements so far, like multiple times.
This isn't just a one off. Let's say he did
say liquor instead, because he was saying that, you know,
his they were saying his dad was a trunk whatever.

(56:42):
Let's just let's just go down that line. The way
he explained. It shows his ignorance that all black fighters,
you know, they get a better treatment. You know, it's
a black entertainment industry. Uh, you know, they get the
favor they you know. It's like, oh really, so you're

(57:02):
telling you're telling me a Mexican fighter hasn't gotten any
advantages before or I mean, let's be honest. The white
boxer they were talking about Glovekin like he was hagler
before he even found Danny Jacobs. And then when you
watch him fight Danny Jacobs, you knew he wasn't haggler. Now,
I'm not saying he didn't win the first fight. He
gets kindle him, that's fair. I think he did too.

(57:25):
I can see that I had him losing the second fight,
third fight, whatever. You know, that wasn't necessary, that wasn't
his crime. But I mean, like, don't get me wrong,
like glove can put some butts in the seats. I'm
not saying that he did like draw a crowd, and

(57:47):
it was a good crowd. And he was he had
a good, great style, actually very entertaining. He was a
good boy and he had that line with the good
boy and he's a good boy. You know, he's funny.
He's a funny dude, but he's not Hagler dude. And
you get not they were counting introim bullshit ABC alphabetical
sanctioned bullshit alphabetical.

Speaker 3 (58:09):
Did I just say that that's diabetical?

Speaker 1 (58:12):
Now you see how I put diabetes in there. But
what was I Oh yeah, the whole glovedkin thing he got,
he got plenty of. Like if you don't think some
Mexican fighters get a little advantage and it's just the
black fighters that that just shows you how fucking ignorant
yard and just he said it a while ago when

(58:34):
he was talking about, oh you like the black fighters
to the top rank and all that. He acts like
he's been mistreated. You know, you got to be on
regular ESPN fight Loma. It's not their fault you try
to cash in against Cambosa's talking to Floyd like you
gotta move dates. We got j Lo and all that

(58:54):
dumb shit. They've been just on a different planet. And
for him still not to make an official change at
trainer tells you a lot. Because he was like, oh,
they're not. If I make a change and he's not
still my head trainer talking about his dad, well then
he won't get the credit. Man. Fuck that shit. Like,

(59:14):
I'm not saying your dad can't be around, but come on, dude,
what are we doing. I did see somebody on Twitter
today said please keep Canelo bud off Netflix. Boxing doesn't
need three hundred million people seeing a fight that averages
twenty seven punches around. That does more harm than good

(59:35):
for the sport. If they're not fighting benevetez Ortiz, forget
about it. And I disagree. And I told him that
the Paul Tyson was horrendous. It didn't room boxing. It didn't,
it doesn't. It didn't do boxing harm. And I told
him the undercar popped off. Now that's the main event,
and it wasn't just about now we have to rely

(59:56):
on the undercard, because that's kind of what he was
thinking that I was saying that, well, you know, more
likely there'll be an undercard fight that pops off and
so they can do the same thing, and you know
that type of thing. I wasn't saying that. I was
just saying that it's not gonna hurt boxing. You know,
it's not good. I mean the MANI Paciol Floyd. Sure,

(01:00:17):
some casual dude, Like I don't know half of the
people that show up for the fight. They're not gonna
keep watching boxing. Dude, they just heard of it, that's
all they heard of it, so they want to watch it,
and then they're gonna be like, oh, the same old shit.
But remember twenty fifteen to like twenty nineteen, there was
some hugely rated monster ratings on NBC, CBS, ESPN, like Fox, like,

(01:00:49):
there was some really large ratings and it looked like
he was in a good spot there. So to say
just everyone said that. You know, a lot of the
boxing media said, oh that that set down you know,
boxing forever, And had that been a brawl, then all
of a sudden, it would have been a mainstream sport
or something. You know. It's like, I just I don't

(01:01:10):
believe that Canelo Crawford on Netflix would be a bad
thing for boxing, because then, like I said, it'd be
your third one in less than a year. That's pretty
fucking good man, and it ain't gonna be worse than
Tyson in Jake fucking Paul. And that's why it goes
back to the argument. You know, Canelo shoot just knocked

(01:01:34):
the fuck out of Jake Paul, not pardon my French,
knock him the fuck out on Netflix in front of
tens of millions of people, knock his ass out and
then fight Crawford on Netflix, or that leads you into
a pay per view, You're gonna do even more pay
per views because you're gonna have the casual fans be like, oh, fuck,

(01:01:55):
you know, I know Jake Paul, he knocked him out.
You know, so that was the stick, you know that,
That's all it was. And then actually the casuals or
the non boxing fans would be like, oh, so that's
what a real boxer looks like. Because Jake got fucked up.
A lot of them didn't see that that theory fight.

(01:02:18):
You know, Tommy, I didn't see the Tommy fight, dude.
So but I get it. I get why you know,
Paul's fighting Shobas Junior. It's not a great opponent, but
I get it. It works for his stick you know,
I wish he was on Netflix. I'll say that or something.

(01:02:38):
But anyway, I think that about wraps it up. We're
gonna do a kind of a quick show. You know.
I'm seeing this thing that and I'm gonna look into it.
That someone shoved. Someone sent me this message and it's
from a tweet from sec back. Developing story. A boxing

(01:03:01):
star is suspended or suspected of shoving with lots of
force and inspect her with the New York State Athletic Commission.
The complaint has been filed. She's in her sixties, the
fighters in his twenties. Due to the push, she went
flying to the floor and reported injuries. So I'm I literally,

(01:03:23):
I don't think I heard. I don't. I haven't heard that.

Speaker 3 (01:03:26):
So I'm not going to comment on it because I
don't even know what the hell it is, to be honest.
So so yeah, I can't really comment too much on that.

Speaker 1 (01:03:39):
I'll just be honest. I'll just be honest. Yeah, I
think that about wraps it up. Like I said, quick show.
Hopefully we'll be back next Tuesday night and not on Wednesday.
I believe, I believe we'll be able to get that accomplished.
I think that about wraps it up. Oh yeah, that

(01:04:01):
the whole paque al Barrios thing. I did get more
than one message saying, oh you were all pumped about
the Paqui al Barrios. I said, if it was on
regular Amazon, just straight up that doesn't that that makes
sense to me if you're gonnat. I'm not saying I
like the Paquyo Barrios. I get my Barrios to do it.

(01:04:24):
But I was saying them looking at that flex and going, huh,
maybe we can do a one off here and get
some ratings. That's what I meant by it. Use what's
left of Pacyos, which it's.

Speaker 4 (01:04:38):
Obviously not anywhere near its peak, and it's you know,
been faltering, and I don't think he should be fighting,
you know, I don't think he should be fighting, but
guess what he's going to.

Speaker 1 (01:04:51):
And so you know, I didn't think Tysan should be fighting,
you know. Anyway, I'm gonna get out here, enjoy the fights.
Let's see if Allen can pull up the upset and
we can get that plus number. Anyway, We'll be back
next week
