Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey, what boxing fans. This is the rope of Dobe
Radio podcast. I am your host, Chris Carlson. We are
live on a Wednesday afternoon. Hope everybody's doing okay. We
will start with some recap from the weekend, whether it's
Lao comedo or Taylor losing for a third straight time,

(00:23):
some of the other bouts that took place from last
weekend as well. We were preview. We will preview the
the PBC Amazon card that you know. The co features
the top two fights on the card as far as
you know order. It's basically like a build up to

(00:47):
a fight with those two Plant and Charlot. I do
kind of wish that Plant had a better opponent. I
totally understand the level of opponent and Charlot has considering
how long he's been out of the ring. I'm not
a you know, tune ups. Some people call tune ups

(01:10):
like a stay busy fight or something like that. Or
someone will have two fights in the year and they'll
be like, oh, stay busy, but really a stay busy,
non threatening at all opponent, he should probably be fighting
three times then if you're gonna take one of those.
But I get it in this scenario, tune ups can

(01:31):
be kind of funky, but overall, you know, when you're
off that much time to get a camp and a
fight and then have another camp and then have a
fight with Caleb plan I think is probably the best
way to deliver that fight. But we'll see. There is
some under card action and other items as well. We

(01:53):
actually have a card tonight that should be stylistically a
good fight. And then yesterday I wrote down what's up
with Tale Femo and in Boots, what's up at that fight?
You know, like I thought this was kind of like

(02:15):
the plan all along, and so why wouldn't it just
be a known star already? Then there's talks about Devin
Haney in Lopez. Well, then last night I see late
last night, maybe even early today, I think it was
early today, I can't remember, but Lopez said he got fired.

(02:42):
So supposedly there's an agreement that wasn't fully signed with
Hany and Lopez to fight a catchweight, which always that's
kind of weird a catchwaight, but that is crazy. If
this doesn't through and he got fired about that would

(03:02):
be that'd be silly. So why didn't Boots take the
fight for one? And then why is why isn't how
did how did this happen? So? So you wanted to
fight Boots but you don't want to fight Hainy Or
was it because it was a catchway? Maybe that was
the problem, even though you just fought it one forty

(03:24):
so that shouldn't be a problem. I don't know, it's
just kind of weird. There's also a little news of
AJ signing a Saudi deal, so we'll talk a little
bit about all that good stuff. If this is your
first time listening to the Ropendope Radio podcast, welcome. It

(04:52):
I generally like to start, and that is in the ring. Okay,
So we'll start with Layo and Comita. You know, for
the first let's see my scorecard. Four rounds. I had
Angela Lao kind of cruising. I mean, the first round

(05:12):
was really slow, really maybe just a jab early on,
and overall the jab dominated as far as I mean,
I think he landed more. I don't have the copy box,
but either way, they were crisp jabs. Round two there
was like a late left uppercut to go along with

(05:32):
the jabs and maybe a hook in there from Lao.
Round two, the jab in the left hook. Then you
started to see Comita land a few nice left hooks,
especially like during an exchange, and in the fourth round
you could start to see him come on kind of late.
In that fourth round, Comita, although the body works some

(05:54):
body punching in the jab, I still was given that
to Lao, so I had him up for zip and
then the round both fighters were digging to the body
with short shots and the inside and the fight started
heating up, and I gave the fifth. Although it was close,
it could have went either way. I definitely gave the sixth.

(06:16):
It was two way round, but I like Comita. Both
of them kind of did a mixture of this where
they you know, they do the jab and hooks and bodywork,
but they were do this like little slight movement or pivot,
you know, just laying the shot and then dip but
not dip too far and kept the fighter that was

(06:37):
coming at you coming forward, kind of kept them off
balance and then would land and then continue to keep
them moth balanced. They kind of both were doing that
at times. The seventh round, to me, that was a
really close round. It could have went either way. I
gave it to Comita, but it was close. And then
I thought Leo starting himself in the eighth and the

(07:00):
ninth round the lead right hands the hooks to the body.
Of course, that stiff jab in the eighth and then
the ninth just the better overall lands, although Comedia did
kind of come on late in that round. I gave
Comedia the tenth round once again the short shots landing,
very clean jabs. A few nice shots from Layo, but

(07:24):
not enough. But I gave the eleventh in the twelth
to Layo and Leo Layou just better lands, you know,
same stuff, quick, little calm commos than he was doing
his movement, and just the more telling shots. So I
thought it was close. It was competitive, you know, So

(07:46):
I had it. I mean I could. I could go
seven five, maybe seven four, one eight four in that range.
When I count them up, it is with close rounds
and everything. Yeah, eight to four, seven four one, whatever
you want to say, seven of five, max. Uh. The
scorecards had it one fifteen, one thirteen, one sixteen, one eleven,

(08:10):
I'm sorry, one twelve, and then one fourteen one fourteen,
which I didn't really agree with on that, to be honest,
I just didn't see that that outcome. I didn't see
a draw, even though seven of five. I thought, like
I said, to give more than five rounds, I thought

(08:33):
you really had to kind of bend over backwards for it.
So Leo, you know, defends his belt. Really, you know,
I liked what I saw out of the fight. It was.
It was really good the way he started the fight
in the first four rounds and then when they when
he closed it the last handful of rounds. I thought

(08:56):
it was a good performance and uh, we'll see where
he moves on from there. We did have that rematch
of Pedro to Duran to Duraan to Duram against uh
Chika Shakeiga. This was a rematch from a knockout win.

(09:19):
But and to me this was a clear win. I
know that one of the judges had it seven to five.
I thought it was a clean win. I thought it
was competitive. But I but I did think that like
I said that it was it was. It was a close,

(09:39):
you know, close fight and all that. But I didn't
see Shakeigo winning or Shaqui Shajika. I I hate, I
hate that I'm butchering his name. My apologies. And and

(10:00):
actually he was the I think, wasn't he the He
was the boxer that after that fight, after his loss,
he he was hospitalized. He's you know, remains in you
know a difficult situation obviously for the family and friends

(10:22):
and it just in general boxing family in general. He
did have to be you know, rushed Tod to the
hospital and I saw. I think it was the ib
F that put out something pretty sure as the ib
F that that talked about how you know he's in

(10:42):
serious condition and you know, condolences go out to him
and his family and all that. So yeah, it's that's
the thing about boxing. And you know, I've complained about
early stoppages and this obviously wasn't necessarily you know, elate
well in early stoppage, but you know, just just one

(11:05):
of those things where you do have to remember to
you know, keep everything in perspective when we're talking about this.
It's it's a dangerous you know, the old you can't
play you don't play boxing, right, and when stuff like
this happens, you know, it's just basically kind of reiterates it,

(11:28):
you know. So yeah, condolences go out to to him.
Hopefully you know he's able to recover from that and uh,
you know be healthy as soon as possible. So yeah, that,
uh that always sucks. You know, definitely that that that's

(11:52):
a rough one as far there was also was Hanabusa.
He he that was a split decision too. I didn't
see every fight on this card, but there were some upsets.
It was it was a good card from the I

(12:14):
think I saw four of the fights. So but in
the end, you know, Leo moves on. Speaking of moving on,
Josh Taylor and a cow Esmon, someone said it's someone

(12:37):
sent me a message saying it's ess. So the even
take away the es men esmond and they said cow
that's how the someone said, that's the pronunciation. All right.
So in that fight, you know, I thought Taylor was
looking pretty decent. Obviously, this is not at the highest

(13:04):
level of walterweight. Walterweight obviously has been diminished in recent
years from a lot of you know, fighters moving up
or retiring or whatever. And so going to this fight,
you kind of wondered, all right, where's he at. Where's
Josh Taylor at? He's lost, you know, fights in a row,

(13:27):
you know, where's his head at? Like we're you know,
is he just gone? You know, we talked about how
the weight, you know, it's been an issue, but now
you obviously can't use that as an issue or a
problem or whatever. And s m is good. Is a

(13:47):
good fighter, you know, but like I said, he's more
of a outside fringe contender obviously. Now you know, I'm
not saying he can't even be when I say fringe contenter,
sometimes that could be the eighth or ninth guy. So
this kind of makes him a contender at that weight class.

(14:08):
But I did think the first let me see my scorecard.
First two rounds I gave to Taylor, he landed like
multiple hard left hands that was actually pushing him back,
and there was a really nice body shot that kind
of affected him and looked like and then early in

(14:32):
the second you see Esmond land tu really right hands,
a body shot later in that round two, but a
few left to the head, a jab, you know, left
hands to the body. I thought that was good enough
that the third round I thought was very competitive. Esmond

(14:56):
was had like a flurry to the body and head
kind of early and then he landed like these short
right hooks to the head, and I thought that, you know,
he landed a good jab and a pot shot later
in the round, and so it was like, all right,
you know, he definitely I thought he won that round Taylor.

(15:17):
I gave Taylor the fourth. In the fifth round, Taylor
landed really nice left hands to the body and a
left to the head that stumbled us. Now, as to
his credit, did fire back with a big right hand
that knocked Taylor back, so it was starting to really

(15:38):
heat up. The fifth was a kind of a close
round too, but I thought, I thought overall he landed
a better shot. There was life some really hooked, good
hooks that landed solidly. In the last minute or so.
The sixth round, Man, that was close again. I mean,

(16:00):
I thought that was just as close as probably closer
than the third round. It felt like Taylor landed the
better lands, but it was close. Could have went either way.
There was a head clash right around that time. Was
it the sixth or the seventh? I thought Sam in

(16:21):
the seventh, this is where he took over the fight.
The seventh round, he was busier. He was landing really
nice body work he got Taylor got off to a
good start in the eighth, but then the lead right
hands to the head and his jab he started Esam
started bringing out his jab more so I gave him
the seventh in the eighth. In the ninth jab little

(16:43):
quick combos to the head and body, big right hands
like with a little over a minute left. Taylor did
fire back, but it really didn't matter. Essen landed the
better shots and was just busier. In the tenth round,
combos to the head in the eleventh round, and once
again just landing better in my opinion, in the twelfth.

(17:04):
So he literally from the seventh to the twelfth he
swept it. So you know, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve,
You know that that's pretty fucking big. You know, you
win the last six rounds, you only need to win
one of those first six then and the sixth and
the third were really really close. So you know, would

(17:28):
I have been okay with a draw, Yeah, I probably
would have been okay, But you know I gave it
to Essam just because I gave him the third round. Basically,
you know one sixteen one thirteen, one fifteen one twelve

(17:48):
and one fifteen one thirteen. I didn't see eight to
four or you know one sixteen one thirteen, maybe that's
seven four to one. But you know, he faded. He faded,
and it wasn't just like always gassed, he can't do anything.

(18:12):
You know, he was just getting beat too. So it
wasn't so it wasn't like I don't know, it just
wasn't like I said, there's no excuses. You know, you're
up at a higher weight class. I think you're just
washed dude, you know, I think you're just washed. I
really think that's all it is. I think that's literally
all it is. He had Moses land a really was

(18:39):
it a right hook? I think a perfectly timed right
He had knocked him down and then you landed a
right hook right in motion, you know, right in the exchange.
It dropped him. And so Moses, man, you know that
for a heavyweight prospect. Man, he's he's pretty impressive, and
he keeps geting and better. I think that was his

(19:02):
twelve fight. You know, obviously he needs rounds. You know,
he's basically gone one in two rounds for a while. Now.
I know that early on he went the sixth round.
I think it a sixth round. Let me check, actually

(19:22):
he went the sixth round distance? Yeah he did. Yeah,
so in his third and fourth fight he went the distance,
the sixth round distance. But ever since then one one
one two two one two. So you know, they do
need to start picking it up on you know, like overall,

(19:44):
obviously I think that that would be important, you know,
to uh to do that. But yeah, I I really
I like what I see out of him. It's kind
of hard not to, like, I said, the right I

(20:06):
think it was like a short right hook. It was
just well, you know, brilliantly timed. So yeah, I mean
as a heavyweight prospect, dude, dude, this dude seems like
the real deal. Now. You know, I never like to
get too excited just because you know, I've been at

(20:28):
this for so long as a boxing fan and then
a part time media member. It's like, I try to
keep it in perspective. But this dude looks like he's
got the goods, man, I mean, he really really looks
like he's got the goods. And you know, man, the
left hands like it just everything he was throwing it

(20:48):
just looked good. You know, it really did. So he's
a high level prospect and you know he's got a chance.
Now who is gonna be his like rival? People are
already saying, oh, man, we got to give him a
fight at Usak. Well, I don't know about all that

(21:09):
just yet, right, I don't think you I mean, I
guess there is a lot of money on the table,
but I don't I don't think Usik will fight him,
Not that he's afraid, but just how many fights does
Usak have left? You know past the fight he's got
coming up that I'm kind of excited about. So I

(21:30):
don't know now Dubois obviously if he won, there'll be
a trilogy, but just off of being younger and I
I say, fresher, but I don't know if Daniel Dubois
would be all that fresh because he's kind of gone
through the gamut two and came around the other side

(21:53):
of it. That's what's been really impressive in his career.
But but yeah, I I think that's uh anyway, So yeah, Taylor, man,
hang him up. You had a good run, man, you
had a good run. You beat some solid fighters, you
did become undisputed, and so you know, do your thing,

(22:16):
you know, just because I don't know unless he wants
to do. You don't see this as much nowadays, but
just to get like, you know, an easy win and
then and then go off into the sunset, you know,
maybe maybe, But I don't know. You had the crowd,

(22:41):
You had a level of opponent that if you should
carry on, you should beat because I remember me and
others were saying, hey, let's see what this dude's got
first and foremost, you know, let's see what he's got here.
But even if he does have something here you and

(23:01):
go too crazy, you know what I mean, Like, if
he gets past this dude, all right, cool, let's see
who he faces it, you know after that. So yeah,
as far as some other action, there was a pretty
fun back and forth fight with Lewis Sylvester. Two scorecards

(23:25):
Reade ninety six ninety four. It was a split decision,
so ninety six ninety four the other way for Reese Mold.
That was pretty good. That was a good fight. And
then you had Garcia. You had Willibaldo Garcia and Renee Kliksto,

(23:45):
Calixtoll calyx Too, Kelex Stolle. Anyway, they had a really
fun fight. The first fight really like good ass fight.
It actually ended in a in a draw, and so
you know it basically I think it was it a

(24:11):
vacant title. I think it was now that I go
back to it, that was a good one. I actually
scored that a draw that fight. I thought it was
that close and Garcia did get the split decision one
sixteen one twelve, one fifteen, one thirteen and one fifteen
one thirteen the other way. Wait, yeah, so I thought

(24:42):
it was a draw. You know, it was a competitive fight.
It could have went either way. I wouldn't mind seeing
I wouldn't mind seeing it again. It was it was
close though, Like I said, my scorecard had a draw.
Who else Maxie Hughes. Ah, it was a really slow

(25:03):
fight with Archie Archie Sharp. He won cleanly. That was
on that Harper Zimmerman card. Wait, I think that's someone
sent me something about that, and I think I'm looking
through my messages as we speak. Wait was that fight Artie?

(25:28):
Someone sent me? What do I think about Abel Mendoza?
He's like forty something to know? Uh, he he got
knocked down? Was it twice? With Morales? And then you

(25:50):
know he went on to really take a part really
you know, I don't know. I mean, you know, I
it's hard to say because there was There's been a
couple of fighters over the last little last couple of

(26:13):
years that have like a you know, like a shiny
ass record, right Like just there was that Asian fighter.
It was a Filipino. I can't remember. I can't remember
if he was or not. But you know he's undefeated,

(26:36):
you know, and he but who's his best win? Is
my point is what I'm trying to get at. You know,
there's a lot of like you see guys the spot
that have like losing records, and I'm not saying like
like you know, ten and twenty four and thirty four

(26:56):
and thirty six and he you know, I'm not you know,
some guys get developed at different you know, I don't know,
Like it's not like he he's like almost thirty, Like
he's he's late twenties. I can't remember if he's twenty eight,
twenty nine. I think he's twenty nine. I should actually
check twenty eight twenty nine somewhere in there. And so

(27:19):
it's not like he's twenty three or twenty four and
he's had all these fights and he didn't have an
amateur career, so he's just he's catching up this way.
You know, that's a little different. But that's not really
the case. I'm not saying he had, you know, I
actually don't know his amateur career, but it's he's a

(27:41):
little older, and he still hasn't fought anybody like at
a high enough level to get excited about him. So
I've seen highlights, I've seen really one full fight. Well,
I guess in the highlights, I saw the endings of
fights and all that. But you know, it's it's a

(28:02):
nice record, but it really could I do it? No,
But you know, I'm not a boxer, so it is
what it is. Let's put it that way. So I
think some of those two of those messages, I think
from one of the fights at least was from last week,

(28:24):
and I just didn't They're saying I just realized that
that I didn't. I didn't really talk too much about it.
So I think that's where I got a little confused.
So this weekend, PBC has a card on Amazon Caleb
Plant versus Rescinde's or Rescinde is and then Jernal Charlotte

(28:47):
returns against Lamana now Lamada Lamana. So it's been a
long time obviously, like and it's he did fight Benevitez Junior.
Like I mean, it's already been a long time since that.
I'm looking at it right now, scheduled this weekend. Obviously

(29:10):
twenty twenty five, he fought late twenty twenty three and
didn't really look all that great in that fight. And
then prior to that, so you're looking at November two
thousand and three, he hadn't fought since Matiel. June of
twenty twenty one. So he's had one fight in about

(29:32):
four years, which is kind of crazy. Actually, I take
that back, it's not kind of it is so you know,
like saying, oh, this is a pushover, this is a
bullshit fight. I mean it is a pushover, but I
don't think it's a bullshit fight just off of that,

(29:52):
the fact that he just hasn't you know, he just
hasn't fought, And so if he's a i'd rather have
I'd rather him get a camp in. Like usually you
train for a while, right, not necessarily full training camp mode,
but you're training, losing weight, getting the rust off, have
a camp, make a weight, and then fight and then

(30:16):
to be able to you know, have another time where
you can hone in on your skills and then have
another camp and then fight. I just think that is
actually important in this scenario. Like if you want to
see Plant in Charlo, this is probably the best way
to do it. Like I said, I don't always believe
in tune ups. I think some guys it's like stay

(30:39):
busy where you're not busy, or you know, they have
two fights. But I'm okay, if you only fight twice,
but one better be pretty good and one better be
really good, you know, with the evidences on really good
for both if you can do it, you know. So
I don't mind this at all. Now it being a cofeat. Sure,

(31:01):
you could say that sucks, you know, and that's fair.
That is fair, I think so. And someone actually messaged
me that this dude's on like eight eight or nine
winning streak. Actually I should check here, because he got
knocked out in the first round back in twenty twenty

(31:23):
one from Laura. He got beat over ten rounds from
my Brian Mendoza, but he actually won like at least
probably two rounds or something. He won some he did okay,
so let's see one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight,

(31:46):
so nine in a row. But you know, when you
look at it, like like how many good wins are
in there? You know, so at least he's had fights
and he's been somewhat you know, more active than his opponent,
but that's not really saying much. So I think Charlo
should win by knockout. If he's in there trying to

(32:08):
get the rust off and working on some things, you know,
maybe it would go you know, the distance. But if
he's anywhere near even seventy five to eighty percent or something.
He should probably take him out. He should probably take
him out in my opinion. And then you have Caleb Plant.

(32:29):
Like I said, Rascendas is a is an al right fighter.
You know. He he started getting a little hype when
he beat Jared Hurd like probably two years ago something
like that, and he actually wasn't a pretty good like
a competitive fight with Elijah Garcia. I did think, you know,

(32:51):
he had a really good start. How many rounds did
you give before the knockout? Sure, but he had a
really good start to that fight. So I just it's
not And that was at one sixty, right, he lost
the Marcos Hernandez. He's a pretty good fighter. That was
actually that was actually at the Armory. He got knocked

(33:13):
down in that fight. I remember, I think the third
round something like that, early second third, something like that.
So he kind of you know, he had that fight
and then like I said, he beat Herd gave Garcia
a good fight, and you know, now he did have
a fight not long ago at the weight class. But

(33:40):
it's not like it's gonna get you ready for it,
you know. So he is a let me check the
recent odds here. Obviously Plant is a is a big
favorite in the fight, let's see. So yeah, I mean
he's anywhere from plus nine hundred and up and FanDuel

(34:03):
has them plus eleven twenty. So that's even more than
Lamana and Lamana, you know, And I don't think Leamana
is gonna win the fight. He's an eight to one underdog.
Oh some people have him seven to one plus seven hundred.
So yeah, it's like I said, it's basically to build

(34:24):
the fight. Now. It would be nice if they could
keep it off pay per view, but I'm just I
just don't believe that they're going to I just don't.
I don't believe. So so now Hernandez, Hernandez and Kirn Davis,

(34:44):
I like this fight. I think for Yo Neell, was
it Yoanelli something like that. This is a good, like
good step up for him. I think two fights ago
he fought like an unbeaten prospect. This is by far

(35:05):
his toughest test. Now. Davis is not necessarily like when
you you know, he's not necessarily known for his power
by any stretch, but you know he's coming off a
nice win via split decision. So and that's obviously you

(35:28):
know Garcia, so I think this is a great fight.
I really do. I'm really excited about this. In normal circumstances,
this would probably be the co feature. Now it's kind
of interesting because when you look at it, it's not

(35:50):
like a fifty to fifty fight, you know on the
betting onds. It's definitely not that, but it does signat
significant it's a significant step. If I can't talk right now,
let's see uh, Davis plus four hundred, I see a
plus three hundred and thirty three. So I mean it's

(36:14):
it's a good ass fight, and I don't know who's
gonna win for sure. Like I like Hernandez a lot,
but is he ready to step up to this level? Now?
Davis isn't like the highest level, I'm not saying that,
but he's been there, done that with some solid fighters.
So this is a great fight. This This kind of

(36:38):
saves the card for me because this is like, Okay,
I really like this fight, and I'm still eyeballing. I
think value wise, if you can get it, you know,
for the plus numbers I just mentioned, I think it's
got a good value to it. I really do. As

(37:00):
much as I like her nanas and and by the way,
I do think he'll win the fight, but you know,
I don't know. I really don't know. So I'm gonna
I'm gonna pick her Nana's. But I think it's definitely
worth putting some plus money. Now, maybe I have dropped

(37:23):
the ball here and I'm looking on box Wreck on
the card and I'm not seeing a fight that I
dot Vellanzuela and Lucero. Now, I've been busy. My schedule
has been kind of crazy lately, So maybe I just

(37:44):
missed that news. But I was kind of looking forward
to that. That was kind of an interesting fight to me.
I thought Lucero was gonna win. But is that not
on the card now or is it gonna get added
to it? Or what other you do have Mountain on
the card. Obviously you have some other you know fights

(38:05):
in the card, but yeah, fill me in with that.
MJ fights as well this weekend. Uh full Gum, I
think it's full Darius fulgum and uh back to Mirror

(38:29):
zev or something like that. I think I mean that,
let me actually and then Koy and Gayos too, those
are like really let me go back to pro boxing. Odds.
That's the right check all the odds because it gives
you a variety of a variety of Look, yeah, I
mean that is Pickham type stuff. Minus So there's a

(38:51):
plus one hundred, there's a plus one ten plus one
oh five on Darius. But I also see a minus
one o four and a minus one thirty for Bektimir.
So I'm gonna go with Guyos as a minor upset.
And the highest I see is plus one forty. I

(39:12):
got it for like plus one twenty five. I see
some others have it plus one ten. The plus one
forty is actually bet way so and man, this is
uh like, this is kind of an underrated a little

(39:34):
bit of an underrated weekend in my opinion. I think
I think that it'll be one of those weekends where,
like I said, I'm not necessarily thinking it's an awesome,
awesome weekend or something like that, but it's I don't know,

(39:56):
there's just something about I just think I think we're
gonna get some really good fights. Man. And and I
also mentioned, uh, tonight, it is tonight, right, it's not tomorrow.
I think it's tonight. Yeah, it's tonight. The nunyaz Duardo Nunez,

(40:18):
and uh, I think it's Rick Ischi Rick is she
I can't remember how to say that, but that that's
a good ass fight. I like Nunaz, but dude, that
is gonna be entertaining as hell, and it's it's it's
not a fifty to fifty, but it's fucking pretty close. Man.

(40:39):
Plus one eighty eight plus two oh five is like
the highest one. So in boxing, if you're two hundred down,
that's it's pretty close fight. There's also a fight with Yamamoto.
I think he'll win, but that's a close ass fight too.
The the under dogs a plus one twenty plus one fifty,

(41:02):
So you know, I like what I see out of
that card tonight. And that's gonna be on the zone. Yeah,
that'll be on the zone, so we'll see. Oh shoot,

(41:23):
what the hell's going on with the Sorry, I'm getting
a little distracted of getting this damn message. It's amazing,
like how many bullshit spam messages are out there now.
It's just uh and I could you know, I'm not
young by any stretch of imagination, but I can just

(41:46):
see how older people fall for these scams. Dude. I mean,
I could definitely see how people It's it's tough, so
you know, Beck is coming off of the fight with
Stevens late last fall is a split decision, and he

(42:11):
you know, he has fought pretty well since taking that
that lost to Risotto, which is very long ago now,
you know. But yeah, I think this is a I
think this is a really close fight, and I am
gonna go I don't know, I'm gonna go with Darius.

(42:33):
I'm going Darius on my pick. So yeah, like I said,
the weekend is kind of it doesn't look great or whatever,
you know, but Eduardo Nunez is always fun to watch
some really close fights with Kaway and Guyos and Beck
and Darius, and you know, seeing I gotta see what's

(42:59):
up that looseerro and Vealezuela. I think I dropped the
ball on that. But Hernandez like it getting tested for
his So it's kind of like mid level and prospect
trying to turn contender type weekend. I guess it's the
way I described that. So I recently saw that uh

(43:23):
AJ Well, first I saw this report that it was
three fight deal with uh for re hot season. But
now Eddie Hearn, according to Boxing Scenes, said it's a
two fight deal and that he basically uh there had

(43:44):
been talked about the rematch with du Bois, but Joshua's
that chose to have surgery on his injured elbow and
that will he basically returned to full training in about
six weeks and that well that was yeah, okay, so yeah,
that that and no smoke boxing. He said, three fight deal.
Eddie said, no, that's not true. We're actually discussing a

(44:05):
two fight deal. We've been doing that basically since the
Canelo Skull night. We had our meeting, and then that's
the plan. Really want to box sometime this year October, November, December.
He said he hearn wants to see what happens in
the Usik Daniel debau, both of them beating him Joshua

(44:28):
before confirming anything Tyson Fury, you know, with something they're
looking at, see what happens with Fury, and if we
don't fight, those guys will fight, then maybe we'll follow
one of those guys next year. So you know, the
Dubois Usic like, I definitely don't want to see another
Usik fight because we've already done that. You know, at

(44:51):
least with Dubois it's like someone's getting knocked out, I guess,
but we can't not kind of. We saw that. We
already saw that. So and I don't think it's like dude,
AJ was winning to a knockout. You know, it wasn't

(45:12):
just a one sided He got caught with a punch
or something, you know. So anyway, so yeah, that that,
and I think it's from Japan. Yeah, it's from Japan
with Sugar Nunez on his own Jim CROSSSS. This is

(45:33):
a nice midweek treat on the treat on his own.
It's one of those matchups where it's impossible for it
not to be entertaining. Very much looking forward to it. Yes,
I cannot watch it live, but later tonight I will
be watching it. Do let's see here some new Oh
and then Josh Taylor had a tweet. I would just

(45:54):
like to apologize to all my fans last night for
leaving the ring before having an interview, before taking the time.
I'm to thank all for showing up and showing out,
you know you always have over the last ten years.
I'm headed to the changing room because I did not
want to say something in the heat of the moment,
and then I'd rather regret on live TV. So he

(46:15):
basically thought he wanted to fight and just off his look.
You know, he looked like he, you know, like, what
the hell you know? I don't know, you know, I
thought I won the fight, and it was close. It
was close. So I saw this from brunch boxing. Matthew Brown.

(46:36):
Lester Martinez was tabbed as a replacement opponent for Terrence
Crawford in September, you know, assuming something like a backup
plan basically, So I mean, it's a good backup plan.
Here's Richard Richard Safer on Canelo and Crawford, and they

(46:56):
have this quote over rich Schaeffer and they have him
sitting right next to or standing right next to Canelo.
It's Crawford Canelo, and he's sitting there right next to Canelo.
He was saying that Crawford, Crawford and Canelo and Crawford's

(47:18):
going to be bigger than Mayweather and pack Yaw. And
I get it. He is a promoter, he's been around
a long time. But come on, dude, he said, with Mayweather,
pacyall people hyped it up. It was a big success financially,
But I think this can equal as big as success
in that regard, if not bigger. Now, could you make

(47:39):
an argument if they put it on Netflix that it
would reach more of an audience because it's it's not
pay per view. I mean, if over four million people
bought it, imagine how many people stream Dayweather pack yew
here and across the world. So that's just silly and

(48:02):
for being honest, I mean, come on, but you know,
Jim Cross also tweeted not long ago today, actually Sugarnonia
is one of the most musty TV fighter of all
all of boxing. I have to appreciate a fighter who
is all gas, no breaks and looking for a ko

(48:25):
his opponent with every shot he does load up. Okay,
So so yesterday, I think it was last night Turkey
fired me. That's what Tayo Femal Lopez said. I almost said,
lame ass. This kind of just came out. He said

(48:47):
in a tweeted, I just got fired. Guys. However, before
things get better, bad things must happen. Resurrection, right, And
he had this tweet yesterday a dick tater and then
he had Turkey. You know, he added Turkey to it,

(49:08):
and Turkey said, maturity is to realize most things don't
deserve a reaction. And so I don't know, man. You know.
He also said that Boots declined to fight with him.
He said, Boots is decline to fight against me at

(49:29):
one seven. His excellency Turkey is upset things that Eddie Hearn. Oh,
he's upset with this because Eddie Hearn agreed to the
fight for later this year, which I'm not sure how
Eddie Hearn's agreeing to it because the fighter agrees to
do it as well. You know, there is something to

(49:50):
be said about that. The rumor is I've seen that
multiple I don't know if I call him sources, but
I've seen it out there. I haven't seen a trusted
source yet, but then I haven't looked either. So don't
don't get mad at me if you tweeted something and
I just didn't see it. Okay, But I'm here in

(50:13):
Yoennis uh Tayez against Boots for the Intern Championship in
WBA because Charlo Jermeal Charlow is the in recess and
you have Crawford as the current champ. So Boots is
gonna go up to fifty four to fight Yoennis instead

(50:35):
of fighting Tale, Femo or Virgil. I mean, if that's true,
then maybe the rumors of Boots, you know, signing with
the PBC, not just being on their cards but actually signed.
Maybe that is true. Then if that's the case, I
don't know, because that that seems kind of funky that

(50:59):
like you think that he just want to try to
go for a unification then, But I don't know, I
really don't know. Here's Martin from New Age Boxing UK.
Money laundering in the sport of boxing and Josh Taylor's
career have such big parallels. Both peaked around twenty twenty

(51:24):
one and have struggled to achieve the same results. Since
that's an interesting point. Adam from sm Boxing I've been
writing about boxing for fourteen years and Moses Etimo I've
heard it said three different ways. Ittoma Tuma A Tuma

(51:45):
is the basically said he is the best heavyweight process
he's seen in that time. We will see what the
future holds. But the tools are off the charts. Yeah,
here's Curtis Boxing. The UK has has a pretty solid
over the past month. Benu Bank, Fisher, Allen Towns, some

(52:05):
Kakachian wood. Yeah, all delivered when done right, far better
than any deserved Saudi show or ridiculous times Square Fen
or desert. So this is Naji. This is no shade
to Barrios, but I hope Pakyo beats him so he
can get Spence Pacy and Cowboy Stadium. Yeah, okay, here's

(52:26):
some boxing Twitter stuff that just makes you laugh. Prime
Tank would would put pretty boy Floyd to sleep. I
repeated again, Prime Tank, So are you saying he's no
longer in his prime? Is that what you're saying? But
to say he would put so he didn't put Lamont

(52:49):
Roach to sleep because he wasn't in his prime? Is
that what you're telling me? Prime Tank would sleep basically
Floyd these this is just oh boxing Twitter. I saw
this first from brunch boxing raus uh Kiro against Victor Rodriguez. Sorry,

(53:14):
my my thing was the way there, all right, And
that's on the Most Valuable Promotions and Golden BOYD Promotion card,
you know the card. Also, this is interesting here Tevin
Farmer getting a chance to fight Floyd Scholfield on that
same card and Anaheim. That's that. I really like that fight. Okay,

(53:37):
So going back to the tale Fema, I just realized
that I didn't finish that up. So basically in and
Ta Femo, you know, deleted his dictator thing his tweet.
It's weird though, because so the Boots thing didn't happen,
even though we were told that that was gonna be

(53:59):
next and then and then and then Tao and Devin
had agreed, you know, agreed, not signed, but agreed to
a fight. Rehod its season August sixteenth at a catchway
to one forty five. But now because of Tayo female

(54:20):
tweeting that that's in jeopardy. So if I mean, what
if he agreed to a fight, did did the money
switch up? Like if you have an issue with the
fight that you supposedly according to three sources on Dan
Rafael's what I saw just a second ago, actually somebody
sent it to me. So you're willing to fight Boots

(54:45):
and then you don't have to go up to the
full one forty seven. You go up one forty five
and fight Haney, But then you went on a did
you go on a tweet? Did you you know, go
did you get mad? I don't understand what happened there,
Like did the money change? Because if the money changed,
you could at least say that, hey, I'd fight Hany,

(55:07):
But they pulled a fast one on me, you know,
then all of a sudden, then he deletes the tweets,
so is he's still trying to get the fight, so
we have a fight with Hanny and Lopez or we don't.
I don't know. So it's it's it's kind of weird.

(55:28):
So yeah, I don't know what to tell you. Man,
We'll see if you know, A sorry does it. Let's
see what happens there. I don't know, man, what I
do know though, unless something crazy happens, which it shouldn't,

(55:49):
I should be I shouldn't even say this. I should
be able to do the show next Tuesday. My schedule
at this point is clean. I may have to do
a podcast right before it, but like, if there's a
Game seven, I'll probably like on Monday. If that knicks
Indies goes the whole way, it'd be Monday night. So

(56:11):
maybe I would do the show a day before and
then do the NBA show the next day. I don't know.
But either way, whether it's I'm assuming it'll be Tuesday,
but either way, it won't be Wednesday or Thursday. That's
the goal. Okay. Anyway, thanks for hanging with me with
my messed up schedule right now. Enjoy the fights. Like

(56:32):
I said, starting tonight, there is some underrated fights going
on that will recap and talk through, and it looks
like on the low, a really good week and weekend
of boxing. Anyway, I'm out of here.
