Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello, I'm you happy people.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Neil Smith and old Buck Buddy. Are you hearing Neil? Neil?
I miss you, man.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
I have a question. We respect for.
Speaker 4 (00:13):
Me down by breaking a major story.
Speaker 5 (00:16):
Chris, congratulations, Single four podcast.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
Question for you? What is your favorite term for Republicans
that don't live up to conservative Republican values. Some of
you prefer rhino, others prefer well. Like me, I call
them fake Republicans. Whatever you're term for these individuals are.
They are some of the most despised people in politics,
(01:06):
and I think I'm being accurate when I say that
this phenomenon is only on the Republican side of the Ledger.
I don't know any Democrats that believe in tax cuts.
I don't know if any Democrats out there who believe
in the rule of law. I don't know if any
Democrats out there who talk about the rights of the
individual over the rights of the massive federal leviathan or
(01:31):
massive all controlling government over the population. I don't know
of any Democrat that has Republican values or will bend
the knee or violate their own conscience and their voters
to serve a Republican cause. Now I know plenty of
(01:54):
Republicans who will do that. I know plenty of Republicans
who will look the other way when Democrats break the law.
For example, I'll give you an example right now, when
Conservatives said they wouldn't show up for the sham January
sixth Unselect Committee. The Democrats through those Republicans in jail' right.
Democrats take it personally when you don't listen to them.
(02:17):
Republicans have issued subpoenas to guys like Hunter Biden and
other Democrats and they have not shown up and they
have not gone to jail.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
So that's the difference, folks.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
That's the difference in between what the parties have devolved into.
The Democrats are unapologetic Marxists and they hate this country.
The Republican Party is loath to do anything about it,
to stand up to these people. And there's a reason.
According to Andy Roth, the president of the Freedom Caucus,
(02:49):
he reveals the truth about many of our red states,
and Texas is one of them.
Speaker 6 (02:55):
Listen, Red states, almost all of them literally are governed
by Democrats that have an R after their name. Because
they live in districts that are very read. They want
to get into office and they know they can't have
a D after their name, so they put an R
after their name, get elected, and then vote like Democrats.
South Carolina is like that, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, well not
(03:20):
Wyoming anymore, South Dakota like on and on and on. Texas.
This is a big problem. It's one of the most
underreported stories, I think in the country. But when we
have a freedom caucus, a state freedom caucus, we come
in there and we contrast ourselves with these fake Republicans
so much to the point where the voters are like, well, wait,
(03:43):
I guess I have a squishy Republican for a state
rep or a state Senator. Because this Freedom Caucus is
speaking the truth. And in Wyoming, we had only eight
members in our Freedom Caucus, but they quickly double to
sixteen and now they're in charge of the Wyoming House.
The speaker is a Freedom Caucus member, the pro tem
(04:03):
is a Freedom Caucus member, and for the first time ever,
they passed property tax cuts, universal school choice, they banned
non citizens from voting, on and on and on. So
we have the model. We know how it works. We
just need to do it in all fifty states.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Yeah, yeah, and we in Texas.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
Oh Man can you imagine what Texas would look like
if we had actual conservatives, actual Republicans in government. And
I know what some of the naysayers are going to say, Wow,
come on, man, you you conservatives these days are so extreme.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
And blah blah. You know what.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
I've actually heard some people say Ronald Reagan would be
considered a rhino bs.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
Ronald Reagan believed.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
That the party should stand for something, believe there are
certain values that need to be lived up to. We
don't have that here in Texas. Fokes, We've got Charlie Garan.
Charlie Garran isn't a Republican. He's a Democrat who couldn't
get a as a Democrat in his district, so he
became a Republican and he aligns with Democrats. And you
(05:06):
see all of these Republicans voting for Democrat bills and
giving Democrats power all over this state against the will
of the voting majority of the state of Texas.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
And a lot of people are tired of it.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
I'm sick and tired of it because they're going to
take us down the road of California. Absolutely, I guarantee
you what to happen, folks. I'm from the state of California.
I got out here in two thousand and six. I
watched the Democrats ruin the state of California. I sat
there and watched it grew up, watching the state disintegrate.
And I want to save my beloved Texas from going
(05:40):
down that road. I want to stop that from happening here. So,
and to this business that Ronald Reagan was somehow a rhino,
listen to Ronald Reagan.
Speaker 7 (05:50):
Well, I'd still prefer to see a revitalization of the
two major parties we have, because the two party system
has served us very well. Third parties have a notorious
way of not being successful. Now, the Republican Party, some
people say, well, that was a third party a hundred
years ago when it started. It actually wasn't. It was
a second party. The Whig Party had shrunk and shrunk,
(06:14):
and then the remainder of the Whig Party said the
two other groups that had formed parties, hey wanna get
together with us. They changed their name and called themselves
the other party. And so it was, in effect, the
Whigs just disappeared. It was this new second party. Uh,
maybe this is time. Maybe it's time for uh realignment
between people who might be find themselves in the wrong parties.
(06:35):
Mm uh, maybe there are some people still voting. I
was a Democrat most of my life. I became a
Republican only not too many years ago. And I had
the pleasure of telling some of those people that are
saying that Republican Party ought to broaden its base the
other day that, uh, when I switched parties, I didn't
do it because the two parties were alike. I did
(06:57):
it because they were different. And I think that the
two parties are to stand up as to what they represent,
what they stand for.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
Yeah, me too.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
And you know, my experience is the exact opposite of
Ronald Reagan's. I left the Republican Party as a conservative.
I left the Republican Party because it started looking an
awful lot like the Democrat Socialist Party, and the Republican
Party didn't want to hold Democrats accountable, didn't want to
(07:27):
stand up for their values, even when they tried to
shoot at the Republican president, tried to throw the Republican
president in jail on trumped up charges. These Republicans still
come out and say, well, we don't think we ought
to do anything about Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton so
I left the Republican Party. This conservative is still looking
for a political party that stands up for the constitutional
(07:48):
conservative American values that I stand up for, that Reagan
stood up for, and frankly the President Donald J. Trump
is standing up for right now. And there are conservative
organizations out there that are actually taking a stand as
well on the constitutional conservative values that I covet, and
so many do the people that used to find a
(08:10):
home in the Republican Party and are looking for mechanisms
to hold both the Republicans and the Democrats accountable to
the will of we the people. And you can help
them out, You can help them grow. I will let
you know how coming up in the Salsado Storm podcast.
And now a word from my sponsor. My friends, did
Bidenomics in the left wing economy really rock your world?
(08:33):

Medical Plan specializes in under sixty five health insurance plans
that have zero copays and no deductibles.
Speaker 2 (08:44):

are thirty to sixty percent less than Obamacare. If Obamacare
has your paying out the nose call American Medical Plans.
Don't let these Marxists destroy one sixth to the US
econom me and your access to healthcare without a fight.
Speaker 2 (09:03):

Speaker 3 (12:05):
Go to Texas scorecard dot Com.
Speaker 4 (12:07):
Today, I want you all to hear the next couple
of words coming out of my mouth. Effective conservative activist groups.
I think every state should have them.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
Why. Well, there's several reasons.
Speaker 4 (12:20):
It keeps actual Republicans and conservatives honest, It keeps rhinos
and fake Republicans down to a minimum. And these groups
are impactful and the truest expression of what it is
to be an American, a government of by and for
the people. And even in my home state of Texas,
we have need of groups like this. Texas is overwhelmingly conservative,
(12:45):
overwhelmingly Republican, but we have leftists and Marxists who have
been put in charge by fake Republicans here and that's
a problem. And right now, those fake Republicans have threatened
the Trump agenda. I want to talk about it with
Julie McCarty. She's founder of the True Texas Project. Sixteen
years ago she did this, and she's built it into
(13:06):
the largest and most active conservative grassroots organization in the
state of Texas. She serves as the CEO for their
nearly thirty chapters. Fran Rhodes is also with us. She
serves as president of the True Texas Project spearheads all
their political activities.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
She's actually the fixture.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
Of folks that you're going to fight at the Capitol
during legislative sessions and making sure that that she fights
for those types of values that are espoused by the
true Texas Project.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
Ladies.
Speaker 5 (13:32):
Welcome, Ah, Thanks Chris, it's good to be here.
Speaker 4 (13:37):
Julie, Good morning, Good morning friend.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
So Julie, I want to begin with you.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
The President of the United States has come out along
with the Director of National Intelligence, Telsey Gabbard, and articulated
exactly the scope and the damage that Barack Obama had
done intentionally, willfully had done going with this narrative over
facts about Russia or Russia Russia. Since all of this
(14:03):
took place, there have been several air quotes Republicans who
have said, you know, like Paul Ryan or you.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
Know, George W.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
Bush or Carl Rove, these types of surrender caucus republicans
who have said, we just got to move on. We
can't hold Obama accountable, we can't hold his cabal accountable.
What say you to that idea that the Democrats are
above being held accountable for.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
What they've done.
Speaker 5 (14:30):
Well, see, that's how I've given the last sixteen years
of my life to hold politicians accountable. I think there's
never a time when you give them a pass. I mean,
if they're leaders, they need to hold up to public scrutiny.
So no, I think that's the difference between a GOP club,
which tends to be a raw, raw country club and
(14:52):
let's just move on, versus a true brassroots movement, which
is what true Texas Project is like. We're not there
to just be cheerleaders. We are there to do the
business of the people and to hold people accountable and
make sure they're representing this well. And clearly they haven't.
Speaker 4 (15:08):
Yeah, clearly they have it. And of course it's all
policy driven. And that leads me to the special session
we find ourselves in right now, fran And of course
Governor Abbott has put in eighteen items on the call,
and among those is an effort by President Trump to
redistrict not only in the state of Texas, but over
in Ohio. I think they might be doing something similar.
(15:29):
But there's a redistricting effort because a Texas was shortened
in the census by a corrupt count by at least
two seats. Everybody concedes we were shorted anyway. President Trump
wants to send more Republicans to Capitol Hill from Texas.
But there's a problem because the Texas House is run
(15:50):
by Democrats. Because forty nine real leftist Democrats along with
thirty six fake Republicans, installed a speaker who who.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
Is loyal not to his voters, who is loyal not to.
Speaker 4 (16:02):
President Trump or to the Republican Party, but is loyal
to the Democrats Socialist Party. And that threatens the whole
redistricting effort, Does it not?
Speaker 8 (16:13):
Yeah? It probably does, Chris. And one thing to note
is that in addition to the regular Standards Committee on
Redistricting in the House, they've appointed this new Special Congressional
Redistricting Committee. Most of the members of the original committee
are on there, with the exclusion of Tom oliverson which
(16:37):
nobody seems to understand. And then also excluded was Representative
Jelanda Jones. That's understandable because she's running for Congress in
one of these contested districts. But the biggie is that
he added Representative Jean wu who is chairman of the
Democrat Caucus in the House. People are not too happy
(17:02):
about that. The committee is stacked with some of the
most liberal Republicans in the House. So I'm not optimistic.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
Yes, I know.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
I know.
Speaker 4 (17:15):
What President Trump needs to know, folks, is that the
Speaker of the Texas House, who by the way, President
Trump endorsed, because the Speaker of the Texas House did
deliver on parental school choice and education freedom, we got
to say that. But what President Trump needs to know
is that the Speaker of the Texas House has appointed
some of the most left wing, anti Trump, anti American
(17:36):
people to this redistricting effort in Texas. So if the
President's banking on Texas delivering, I don't know that that's
going to be a good bet. In the President and
his political team in the White House should be made
aware of that.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
And Fran, I can't.
Speaker 4 (17:51):
Let it go what you said, it's so bad in Texas, folks,
that the Speaker of the Texas House has placed jin Wu,
the leader of the Democrats, who by the way is
a big cheerleader for communist China, has put him on
this redistricting effort to deliver for President Trump. Now, how
well is that going to go? Folks were talking to
(18:12):
Julie McCarty and Fran Rhodes. They are with the True
Texas Project, conservative organization that is effective. Guys, you heard
me mention the thirty six fake Republicans that voted with
forty nine real leftists to put in a fake Republican
speaker by the name of Dusty the Democrat Burroughs. Giovanni
(18:33):
Kaprilioni is a District ninety eight representative. He has said
he will not seek re election. He's one of the
dirty thirty six. It's gonna save us from having to
find a conservative to actually challenge him and vote him out. Anyway,
what are you hearing? Why did Giovanni drop out?
Speaker 5 (18:51):
Oh boy, it's like my favorite subject, Chris So. Giovanni
is my state representative. I helped get him elected and
after one term he completely turned on us, and I've
been wanting to undo that ever since. So we were
all geared up to get rid of him, you know,
looking for good Bible candidates, and then all of a
sudden he drops out. Well, of course, there is a
scandal behind it that I've been sworn to secrecy and
(19:15):
I'm not supposed to reveal.
Speaker 4 (19:16):
Come on, yeah, whoa, whoa, whoa? Nobody truly Wait a minute,
this is This is not only the Chris Salsado Show
where where you know, a lot of political stuff breaks.
But now now there's a whole bunch of people around
the entire country and other states.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
Who want to know about can.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
You give us a hint about why mister Giovanni Kaprilioni
is dropping out of District ninety eight.
Speaker 5 (19:42):
Just to give us a hint, Well, I can just
tell you there's a sex scandal. So that's as far
as I'll go with that. And it's all going to break,
and I'm told it's so bad he will need to
leave town.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
Leave town.
Speaker 4 (19:56):
Really, Yeah, I'll be darned. Oh my, So he's not
going to run for really? Okay, well that makes sense, folks.
As you know, people with left wing sensibilities, whether they
call themselves Republican or Democrat, they're not really big on
the values issues typically. So Fran, let's talk about this effort,
(20:18):
the broader effort, because we thought we had sent a
message in the conservative movement in Texas back in the
last legislative session in twenty twenty two, when well fifteen
directly twenty four indirectly fake Republicans lost their jobs and
we had a more conservative presence in the Texas House.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
I guess we just have more work to do, right.
Speaker 8 (20:40):
Yes, absolutely, we made some major strides in the twenty
twenty five sessions. We had an awesome group of freshmen
representatives in the House who did a really good job.
But it just isn't enough. We need more than that
because of those thirty something rhinos that you know with
(21:01):
the Democrats. We have to overcome that with more good
people that are committed to doing the right thing. So
we are going to be highly focused on the primary
elections coming up in twenty twenty six to try to
repeat what we did in twenty four, which was in
you know, twenty twenty five, really good freshman representative to
(21:22):
the House of Representatives.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
Yeah, I got to tell you guys.
Speaker 5 (21:25):
The reason we're thinking we need about ten more. If
we can get ten more elected, obviously we're getting rid
of GEO. So that's one right, Well, you.
Speaker 4 (21:33):
Know me, you know me, Julie. I'm aiming for all
thirty all thirty five left. All thirty five are a left,
and if we get ten or fifteen, I'll be happy. Look,
I wanted to I wanted to bring you guys on
because a. I meant what I said off the top
that every state should have an organization like the True
Texas Project, And you guys have been doing such great
work because folks, I got to tell you True Texas
(21:55):
Project is despised by fake Republicans who want to keep
the secret that they're really Democrats, but they're fake Republicans,
and also by the Democrats themselves because of how effective
they are and insisting, as you could hear on policy,
policy policy, the Republicans slash conservatives of the majority, thus
they should be deciding policy in Texas. You guys, you guys,
(22:17):
if you were giving advice to starting other organizations around
the other states, I want you to address that. But
also tell me about this fundraising effort that you guys
are underway doing right now, Julie, tell everybody about it,
because I think this is going to be a template
for other conservative groups in other states.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
Go ahead.
Speaker 5 (22:36):
Oh, we're having a lot of fun with our Red, White,
and True Texan challenge. So we're asking people to either
take a picture or make a video of themselves and
talk about Texas, what do they love about Texas, what
makes them a true Texan, and then donate one dollar
and name somebody by name to do the challenge next.
So you might be in front of the Alamo or
(22:58):
the Gulf of America or something fun like that, or
even just at home in your favorite Texas T shirt,
take a picture or a video and say I'm a red,
white and true Texan. Donate one dollar to True Texas
Project and then challenge somebody by name. So they do it,
and then they challenge someone and hopefully it's this viral
thing and we get the money we need to fund.
It's just, you know, we're a grassroots organization, and you know,
(23:20):
I get frustrated because I look at some of these
other organizations that maybe kiss abbots ring or or you know,
they bow to the powers that be so that they
can get their funding, and we will just never do that.
We are truly a grassroots organization. We raise you know,
ten dollars at a time, twenty five dollars at a time,
but our expenses are just as much as the other organizations.
So if people really want to have the voice of
(23:42):
the people heard and be effective, they're going to have
to chip in. So we think everybody can afford a dollar.
Go to True Texas Project dot com. And donate one dollar.
Speaker 4 (23:50):
True Texas Project dot com. And folks, what she said
about the money, fran, I want I want you because
there's going to be a lot of grassroots organizations that
are maybe small or haven't even been started yet in
places like Pennsylvania, in places like Michigan, and even in California.
The Republican Party in California is completely dead. They have
(24:11):
no values out there that a Republican, with the exception
of a couple that I know out there in California,
a Republican in California is like a Democrat in Texas.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
They're that left wing out there.
Speaker 4 (24:23):
So how important is it? Because we've all heard the
expression frand that money is the lifeblood of politics, and
that goes for the grassroots too, doesn't it.
Speaker 8 (24:34):
Yeah, it really does. And I mean we all kind
of hate that, we hate that our political activities, whatever
side you're on, is driven by money. But the fact
is it really is. But if we can reach the people,
the average citizen out there who just wants to make
things better and get them to engage either financially or physically,
(24:58):
you know, get involved and do something as a citizen advocate,
that's the key to success. It doesn't have to be money.
Look at how many good representatives and senators have been
elected when their opponents outspent them. So you know, money
doesn't always win the day, but it takes money to
(25:20):
do what we do. We're a statewide organization. We have
travel expenses and venue expenses and salary expenses, just like
anybody else. Like Julie said, we depend on the average
citizens to pund our organization. And I would say for
other states, if you're starting something like this, focus on
(25:42):
the people, get them to engage in whatever activity they're
able to engage, and eventually the money will come. I
have faith.
Speaker 4 (25:51):
I have faith too, and if your cause is righteous
and just, people will go to it. And it cannot
be any more righteous and just then than battling leftists
in what they have tried to do this country. And folks,
we need to have the battle joined from our side.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
Or we're gonna lose.
Speaker 4 (26:08):
We're gonna lose this last best hope of mankind on
planet Earth. Julie McCarty and Fran Rhodes, ladies, I appreciate
the visit and hope that you guys become the template
for other conservative organizations out there. True Texas Project. Look
it up, folks, if you're in Texas, if and if
you're outside of Texas, get in touch with them if
you want to start a group of your own in
(26:29):
your state. Ladies, thank you, thanks Chris that there's a
wrap on this Salsado Storm podcast. Visit a couple of
websites kids Texas scorecard dot com and thenew Chrissalsado dot com.

good stocking stuffer for that liberty lever in your life
untill we visit again. My friends, Remember this, society's worth
isn't measured by how much power is stolen by government.
Society's worth is measured by how much power is reserved
(27:02):
for you and me.
Speaker 4 (27:03):
We the people, keep fighting for freedom out there, my friends,
