Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello, I'm you happy people.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Neil Smith and old Buck Buddy. Are you hearing Neil?

Speaker 3 (00:08):
Neil?

Speaker 1 (00:09):
I miss you, Man Junnies, I have a question.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
We respect for me.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Down by breaking a major story. Chris, congratulations.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Listen to a single score podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
My friends, I'm sad to report to you that maybe
we have been asleep for far too long in this country.
Let me tell you what I mean. We have allowed,
first off, GOV. Ed to be infected with leftists who
have been teaching our children to be mind numbed robots
and and not to question government. They've been They've been

(01:04):
taught inside of school the government is good, Government is great,
Government is infallible. Nothing can be further from the truth.
So they've conditioned generation after generation after generation to accept
what government says at face value. Government has created sad
to report, folks, Government has created agencies that are one
hundred percent unaccountable to the American people and our representatives

(01:27):
in government. Let me give you an example of one
such agency. It's called the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve
is a system of banks that is worldwide. We have
a Federal Reserve system in the United States that are
benevolent and beloved politicians signed us up for back in
the day.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
And this.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Agency is not of the US government. It is a
worldwide cabal of international bankers. And the Congress has given
an enormous power over you and me. And the only
time that the elected leaders of this country can allegedly
fire some of these individuals at the Federal Reserve is

(02:13):
with quote unquote cause. But who determines the cause, not
our courts, not the President of the United States. They have, basically, folks,
created an agency that is unaccountable to you and me,
and they gave it tremendous power. That was the first hint.
And they didn't go after a whole bunch of power

(02:34):
right away. They consolidated it over the decades. Then there's
the Federal Trade Commission. This too was set up as
a quote independent agency, meaning it's independent of accountability, independent
of being stripped of its power by those it impacts
the most. The Federal Trade Commission has tremendous amount of

(02:56):
power over our people, and we have no say in
who staffs it. Now. This was put to a test
here recently. President Trump wanted to fire a left wing
kook nut freak that Joe Biden had put on the
Federal Trade Commission as a commissioner. Her name is Rebecca Slaughter.

(03:21):
The President has been pushing to fire Slaughter, a Democrat
who was appointed by President Auto Pen Beijing Biden's regime.
The Supreme Court said, by the way, the President had
to take this all the way to the Supreme Court
to get this decided, And it could have gone either way, folks.
The Supreme Court could have said, well, no, you, mister President,

(03:44):
have no authority to fire anybody at the Federal Trade Commission.
It would have been giving up the ghost, frankly on this.
Either way, they were screwed. Either way, the President would
have been able to say, see, Congress creates another stupid organization,
is not accountable to our people and no check on
its power. So the President's been pushing to fire this

(04:06):
Slaughter chick, a Democrat appointed by Beijing Biden. And the
Supreme Court rules, yes, President Trump, you can fire this person.
The ruling came out a couple of mondays ago, as
the Court said, it will weigh whether the president can
fire members of the Federal Trade Commission without cause. They're
saying he can fire this one because he's got cause.

(04:28):
But then you know, does the Federal Trade Commission serve
under the executive branch at the pleasure of the president.
I think it should while the case is not being
While the case is being litigated, NBC air quotes fake
News reported Slaughter will not be able to remain in office. Six'.
Three ruling On monday comes just weeks After Justice John

(04:48):
roberts ruled in The president's favor and Blocked slaughter's. Reinstatement, now,
folks this is also tangentially tied to the firing of
people who work for the executive. Branch The president of
The United states had to actually go to The Supreme
court to have it affirmed, that, yes the head of
the Executive branch can fire executive branch. Employees this is

(05:10):
how deranged and warped The democrats have. Become they're Making
President trump do these stupid, maneuvers going to The Supreme
court to basically, declare, yes you have the power as
the chief executive to fire those under your command who
serve at your. Pleasure it's, nuts but it's what we've devolved, into.

(05:30):

Speaker 2 (09:19):
FOLKS i want to bring On Travis. Morgan he covers
legal issues for The Texas. Scorecard hey, man how's it,
Going chris?

Speaker 3 (09:26):
Going?

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Well you AND i are talking about something that is
THAT i think is going to have a lot of
people scratching their, heads something called The texas X Ethics.
Commission and people are going to, say, well what could
possibly conservatives have anything to say about the tech that's
gonna screw me up every Time Texas Ethics? Commission what's

(09:49):
wrong with the commission dedicated to? Ethics but you AND
i both know there's a lot wrong with this. Agency
so let's begin by what it's supposed to. Be tell
me what it's supposed to.

Speaker 4 (09:59):
Be, Right, so when it was originally, founded it was
supposed to set salaries for. Legislators, essentially it was supposed
to bring those issues to voters so that legislators weren't
setting them. Themselves and my, goodness has it moved beyond.
That it is one of those, issues as you, said
The Texas Ethics. Commission that sounds. GREAT a lot of

(10:21):
these state, agencies state, commissions they don't always live up
to their. NAMESAKE i mean even The Railroad, commission dealing
with oil so much it can be. Misleading so The
Texas Ethics commission was set so that there could be
an ethical process for setting these.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Salaries, okay suppose. Supposedly, supposedly but as The Texas scorecards
has delved into and it was your peace on this
is The Texas Ethics commission is very is its very
existence a threat To? Texans so explain to me what

(10:57):
this agency may be founded with the best to be
in tensions what it's devolved.

Speaker 4 (11:02):
Into, Right, so it has essentially become the the prosecuting
agency for free speech, essentially so you can have just
an individual who wants to get involved in, politics and
maybe they just donate three thousand dollars to a, campaign

(11:22):
or they put some yard signs and pass them. Out
and if they don't have an attorney walking them through
the process making, sure you, know they dot their eyes
and cross their t's on every little, issue somebody can
file a sworn complaint against them alleging that they're illegally
lobbying in the state Of. Texas and the biggest issue

(11:43):
with that is that the commission is not, elected and
they don't really they can't be held accountable to. Anybody
so they can conduct an, investigation find the person, guilty
find them fifty thousand, dollars and there's not much that
can be done about.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
It who appoints the members of The Texas Ethics, commission.

Speaker 4 (12:03):
That would be the, legislator the legislature, itself and it
is a bipartisan. Commission by, definition it has to be
fifty Percent republican fifty Percent.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
Democrat but in this, state as we all, know The
republicans that many of them are. Fakes we have thirty
six Fake republicans currently serving who are every bit as
left wing and every bit as crooked as The Democrat
party is, so what is? This the reason why The
Texas Ethics commission has evolved into what it's evolved into

(12:35):
is because basically the left wing runs.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
IT i mean that is that is certainly a theory out.
There it's it's just there are people within the commission
who chaired the commission Right Democrat Paul, Hobby Republican Jim.
Clancy they have both come out in interviews, saying, oh my,
goodness what The commission has. Become it will go after
these these small individuals who are trying to lob and

(13:00):
get involved in politics on just a small, scale and
it will come after them and to turn them from
ever wanting to be involved in the game. Again and
people will come to them crying they didn't know they
had to file this paperwork to do some you, know
small political, work and it just destroys.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Them and it sounds to me like they're trying To
travis to keep the people's voice out of. Government that
they are that their job is to make sure that
only the lobbyists who dot the i's cross the t's
grease the. Palms MIGHT i say that they're the ones
who have the access and we the people are boxed.

(13:36):
Out is that how it works out practically, speaking.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
Generally, speaking that's that's a way of looking at, it for.
Sure but Even Christopher, patty who has an attorney that
was part of The commission and who he himself is
a former, legislator he has all the connections in the,
world and they came after him as warm complaint was
filed against him for illegal, lobbying and they found him,

(14:01):
guilty find him fifty five thousand, dollars and he fought.
It what a lot of people don't know is that
sometimes you can go to The commission and settle for
maybe only five hundred. Dollars those who don't know that
and get found guilty by The, commission well they're left
footing the bill and never being involved in. Politics. Again
patty knows all of, this but he's not willing to
say he's say he's. Guilty so what he wants to

(14:24):
what he wants to do is prove his, innocence and
he's fighting them and they're not having any of. It
they've allegedly threatened him in emails and so he filed
a lawsuit against. Them so he's been fighting this case for,
years even though he is well. Connected SO i guess
the bigger picture of this is what does that say
about the little guy who's not well Connected if even
those who are well connected are having this much.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
Trouble we're talking To Travis, morgan, folks he covers legal
issues at The Texas, scorecard so this we can't be
the only ones flagging this. DOWN i mean Mister, patty,
which by the, way he had some struggles of his
own when he was when he was a member of
the legislature because of some of the questionable votes that

(15:08):
he made and some of the moves that he. Made
i'm not saying that he's wrong in this. Case i'm
just saying that name raised some red flags for. Me
but that being, said the Problem i'm having is the
zero accountability to the people Of. Texas that's the. Issue
AND i don't like it in the federal. Government when we
have The Federal reserve or there was just A Supreme

(15:32):
court case that affirmed that there was some sort of
control That americans had over THE, ftc The Federal Trade.
COMMISSION i don't like having commissions of any kind that
don't have accountability to the. Taxpayers who is in the
trenches right now trying to bring some accountability to an.
Agency that sounds to me like it's kind of.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
Rogue, Right, well there are attorneys on, This there are
a lot of cases working the ways through the judicial.
Process there was one recently where it made it to
The court Of Criminal appeals and the court actually reversed
its prior decision and decided that it was going To
you know that The Texas Ethics commission was a legislative

(16:14):
agency because they were trying to claim that they were
the sole prosecuting power of election, crimes of free speech,
crimes and The court Of Criminal appeal stepped in and, said,
no you were established under The Texas constitution as a legislative.
Agency you are, unelected and now it is classified as,

(16:35):
such so other agencies do have prosecutorial power in that.
Regard but, yeah in regards to what you said About,
patty that's definitely what the point of the PIECE i,
wrote which of course is Using patty's case to highlight the,
issue is it's not About patty or even really his,
lawsuit because he's arguing about the technical laws of The

(16:56):
commission and all of. That that's not the. Point the
point is that if The commission can come after him
and he can't even fight. It what does that say
about the little?

Speaker 3 (17:06):
Guy?

Speaker 1 (17:07):
True?

Speaker 2 (17:07):
True So i'm. Hoping, well, see if you're going to
get anything, done you're going to have to get it
done in the, legislature and the current makeup of The
texas legislature prohibits anything being done that is of a
benefit to the people Of. Texas it's all about the,
lobbyist it's all about the left. Wing it's all about you.
Know as you, know The Texas house is run By

(17:27):
democrats and, leftists and some of them call Themselves. Republicans
so is there any ally that we the people have
that could possibly at least force this commission to live
within its the confines of its actual? Directives or are
we just stuck because let me, guess it was so

(17:48):
poorly worded when they created the damn thing that it
it is fitting in the boundaries because they didn't put
proper limits on.

Speaker 4 (17:56):
It, WELL i would say this as a journal LIST
i do view my kind of political world through if
you expose things, enough if you bring enough public attention to,
things they will. CHANGE i generally believe that is true
if it's done. Enough and so if enough people know
about The Texas Ethics commission and all that they're, doing

(18:17):
and it becomes such a public pressure issue on the
legislature to do something about, it on the, governor on
The Attorney, general and it comes to their attention and
they have to address. It things can, change and my
role is to bring what is happening to the.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
People, Okay so The Texas Attorney general could he looking
at AND i know that you've probably to this a
lot closer than CERTAINLY i. Have i've heard about problems
with The Texas Ethics. Commission i've heard about these. Issues
but WHAT i have not done is gone the step
of looking at the statute that created this. Agency and

(18:56):
is there a possibility The Attorney general could look at
this and, say, hey you guys are exceeding your authority
and you need to.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
Stop it's certainly a good. QUESTION i actually don't know
the answer to, that but that is a great question
and something to look. Into more big picture, is even
if The Attorney general doesn't have a right to do
something about, it getting anybody at the highest level Of
texas politics really upset about this and willing to work

(19:28):
hard to do. Something they can find the proper avenues
TO i, guess make things, happen to change.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
Things, okay, well what other part of the story do
we not cover that you think needs to be covered
by the. Way Travis morgan is our guest right, now.
Folks he covers the legal issues For texas. Scorecard have
we pretty much gone Through Texas Ethics commission pretty?

Speaker 4 (19:51):
MUCH i would just really reiterate that it is such a.
Problem it is so against The Texas, constitution The american
constitutional order to have an agency like this that does
what it is doing that anybody can file a sworn
complaint against a political opponent who's just doing some basic
lobbying and doesn't know every little legal task you have

(20:14):
to complete to do, so and the commission, can on
its own, accord find you guilty and find you and
if you fight it at, all you can petition a
review and they can review it and keep the fine
or even increase. It it's the same people doing, this
and it really can discourage the little guy from ever

(20:35):
being involved in the political. Process, Again we've seen it
happen over and, over as highlighted in that.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
Article doesn't sound Very american to. Me Travis. Morgan everybody
he covers legal issues for The Texas. Scorecard what's next
coming down the pike that we can expect for you
in the coming.

Speaker 4 (20:50):
Weeks, WELL i will be out In olpaso covering the
redistricting cases going. ON i will save that for AFTER
i hear everything, myself BUT i very much look forward
to that and there will be some articles coming out for.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
Sure, yes. Absolutely let me just plant a. Seed you
know That democrats oppose the redistricting maps because some of
these maps Gave latinos a, voice because Those latinos are
now Voting republican because they don't like illegal. Immigration so
That democrats are actually actively seeking to Stop latinos from
having a voice Because democrats no longer agree with law,

(21:25):
abiding liberty Loving. Latinos Travis, morgan thank, you, man appreciate.

Speaker 3 (21:28):
It thank you so.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Much, chris that right there puts a rap on This
Alsado storm podcast till we visit. Again my, Friends remember
this society's worth isn't measured by how much power is
stolen by. GOVERNMENT a society's worth is measured by how
much power is reserved for you and, Me, weed the
people keep fighting for freedom out there are my, friends
