Speaker 2 (00:13):
And we are here with you another episode of the
Silver Wodge Show podcast. And this one is so perfect
because I'm dream Oh it is so warm in here today,
and I just wish I was a Boulder Beach just
cooling off on a weave pool with a nice slushy
in my hand.
Speaker 4 (00:30):
There you go, It just sounds amazing.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
So our special guest this week, uh is basically an expert.
She knows everything there is to know about aquatics and
Boulder Beach. Her name is Danny and she'll be joining
us here in just a little bit.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
But Jordan, let's let's start off with the park pulse
and talk about the park.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Park pools.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
All right, So we just had a huge weekend. Obviously,
Boulder Beach just opened. It was Heroes weekend. The weather
was phenomenal, time made holy. It could not have been
any better. I actually got to come in with my
friend from Arizona experienced the park a day off, Oh
my gosh, and she had a great time as well.
(01:11):
And we did kind of more of the like old
lady stuff because that's where I'm at now. And it
was great. We just took it easy and we did
you know, the train and the magic show and just
the Ferris wheel and just.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
It was a nostalgia. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
And I spent basically my whole paycheck and gave it
back to the work. So it was a wonderful time.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Appreciate your generous donation.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
Anytime, any time, I mean Atlanta in or retail. I
just oh and I bought fudge too.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Oh good. You did everything?
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Oh, I did everything except for the roller coasters. I
took her on spin cycle. It's not a roller coaster, no,
but it's my favorite.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Yeah, So it was a lot of fun and I
hope that everybody out there.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Yeah, it was a great weekend.
Speaker 5 (01:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
I mean I was here not Saturday or Sunday, but
I was here Monday and that was a great day
as well. Moorial day. It wasn't as warm, but it
was still warm enough. It like got it was like.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
That partly cloudy perfect you know, it came out it
was perfect, yes, and then a cool job as soon
as it went away. So yeah, couldn't ask. We're a
better one. So coming up this weekend just.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Yeah, well it's Boulder Beaches open again. So Bolder Beach
is only open weekends until the seventh of June. So
and then we are open Friday, which would be the thirtieth,
and then we're open the next Monday, and then the
following Friday, and then we're opening yeah, which would be
the same.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
You got your calendar out because just know that starting
the sixth there has always open, always seven.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Days a week, and starting the seventh, Boulder Beaches open
seven days week.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
So yes, so Friday tomorrow, Yes, Friday, Friday tomorrow the
just the park, just just the park, and then Saturday
and Sunday Boulder Beach and Park.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
Okay, so that's all you need to know. We're just
going to time.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Yeah, speaking of this week, yeah, we can talk about
this weekend. We have a big announcement.
Speaker 4 (03:01):
Because it is about time.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
Jordan. I have been just aching to tell them this
and so many questions on social media and I just
have not had an answer to tell them. Now we do,
So what is that, Jordan. I'm going to let you
make the big announcement.
Speaker 6 (03:15):
The seismic sizemic announcements will be open this Saturday.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Yeah, it's about time.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
And Jordan, how many times have you written it? Now?
Speaker 1 (03:25):
I've readen it twice so far as of recording this.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Uh huh. As he's recording this because by the time
we're done, he's probably gonna.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Let's go write it again.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Yeah, exactly so, and tell us a little bit about it.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Give you a little sneak peak. It does not feel
like a wood coast now, no, no, it is.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
So that's bad or good.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
I mean for some people it's not. It's it's bad,
but for most people it's great. Yeah, you know, like
it's it has a little bit of, especially when you're
coming around the back corner, a little bit of that
wood vibe. But man, it is so smooth. It is,
in my opinion, smoother than stunkylet smooth.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
I gotta test this because I love stunt pilot because
it's so smooth.
Speaker 4 (04:04):
I'm really curious it is.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
It is amazing, like you actually like feel the speed
of the coaster. You feel all that rather than means
just like jostled.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
Around like when you go under ground.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Is it just like gosh? Well, and so right now
we have like a mix between poly earthan wheels and
steel wheels, and so it still has a loud noise.
When it comes to those tones, it really sounds like
an earthquake coming. Oh, it sounds awesome, so.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Going after its name, yeah, but it sounds different than
it did before.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
But yeah, I mean, well, yes, it's a lot quieter
than it did last year.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Quieter in a smoother sense.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
I guess.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
It doesn't sound like a really old airplane that's about
to crash into the ground. Now it sounds like a
modern day jet pilot.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Like this sounds. It sounds powerful.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
That's that's the word.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
That's the perfect right for it. And the trains are
so comfortable. I'm excited to people to experience it.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
Because can I post your picture on social media? No,
why you guys, I've got Jordan as the backdrop on
my desktop right now, him and our graphic designer Allan
because they wrote it and the facial expressions with like
the GoPro that they were using is by far one
of the most hilarious things, and it's just the great
way it was exaggerated. Turn on my computer in the
(05:17):
morning and that's what I get to see first thing.
And so it's still like posted because Jordan doesn't need
to have any It.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
Was so it was so smooth. That don't do this
at home. We don't do this. But I just handheld
the GoPro and it was buttersmooth, like I didn't have
any issues keeping it still.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
Yeah, that's great.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
So we don't allow that normally.
Speaker 4 (05:37):
But so I could do my makeup on it.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
Maybe maybe you could, maybe you could draw a picture
on it.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
Did I fold laundry?
Speaker 1 (05:43):
You might be able to fold laundry. Maybe you could
solve a Rubik's cuba. It's new, it's smooth.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
Maybe we should test this.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
We should maybe test this stuff out coming to a
social media post near you.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Yeah, so maybe you should follow us on Instagram and Facebook. Okay, Okay,
that's enough hints, So let's just move on. Let's move
on to the mail train and answer some questions. What
do you say whale train? All right? So our first question. Oh,
by the way, if you want to know how to
do this, there's two different ways. You can email us
at podcast at silverwoodthemepark dot com. You can head to
(06:16):
our website at silverwoodthmepark dot com slash podcast easy easy right,
and sign up to be a loyal listener leave leave
us a question and we might just be reading it
online online on air. Well, we're kind of online right
now because we're on YouTube now. Yeah, we are on YouTube,
so waiting online. Yeah, go watch us on YouTube, watch
us on you's a plug.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
I'm meant to good job. We're a professional, I tell yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:40):
All right.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
I want to talk about Wyatt Marcelli's question, and I
liked this. Are there any secret rooms or employee only
areas with a cool history or something cool?
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Something cool, cool history? So there is an underground tunnel
that goes from Lindy's pretty much all the way down
Main Street?
Speaker 2 (07:02):
Really?
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Yes? Really?
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (07:03):
Is that where like the heating and cooling that's.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Where all that is. I have never been in it,
but I've seen videos. Actually did one of our old
Scarywood videos for the Zombie Wood Express back in the
day was filmed in it. And so if you've seen that,
that's inside that tunnel. But yeah, it's a secret underground
tunnel that goes hunted. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
There might be zombies down there.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
There's not zombies down there. There was, there was and
now they're all gone.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
How do you know?
Speaker 2 (07:31):
Is that where the ghosts resonated, it would be where
they come from, because we do have a podcast ghost
that we might just have to give an actually name
on the marquee.
Speaker 5 (07:39):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
Okay, that's a great question. And then of course Wingovers
got some history. That's an employee area.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
We have the Wingover which is our employee cafe, and
it was an original building when it was Henley and
that was like the cafe where people like pilots would
fly in and grab lunch or whatever they do. And
then yeah, so that got moved to our backstage hgeeria. Yeah,
I mean, I I don't.
Speaker 4 (08:03):
I think the studio is a secret round.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
The studio is a very secret. Honestly, nobody realizes this exists.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
Yeah, so we're just hanging out up here above Country Biracues.
So next time you come get your turkey leg and
watch the engineers sing, just think about all the podcast
magic that's happening right above you.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
And there's I'm thinking through like the secret rooms. I'm like,
our offices are everywhere. Yeah, I mean, so there's offices
above the Victorian, above Lindy's. There's offices really all over
the park. So we're we're not super consolidated into one
area where there's a little Yeah, the candy store has
(08:41):
offices and so it's it's crazy.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
Yeah, yeah, but you'd never know. You never know, so
we're always watching. All right, let's move on. Thank you again,
Wyatt for that question. Travis Nelson, he says, my family
loves everything Silverwood has to offer, especially the delicious snack foods.
We always get the generous one scoop i s cream cones,
funnel cakes, elephantais, and a huge bag of kettle corn.
But I was wondering what other delicious snack foods are
(09:07):
there that we may not have tried yet. He did,
But I'm thinking you go some time. Well, the new
cotton candy, okay, okay, so that's fancy. It's got edible glitter,
it's got candies in the cotton candy, and the flavor
you can exactly and the flavors are naturally derived, so great, yeah, healthy.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
They are quoted that.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
It just doesn't seem right to be saying that with
cotton candy.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
It's like an oxymoron of all oxy moorons.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
But you know, and then of course we've got sweet
and salty now, yeah, highly recommended. To go to Sweet
and Salty at Bulder Beech and dip some French fries
in some soft serve or.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
And I had the new Huckleberry soft serve ice cream
last week. How was it? It's amazing because.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
It's not huckleberry soft dessert Island to get huckleberry, Okay,
you could, you could if you really wanted to, but
the huckleberry, you know, like.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
There's like like syrupy flavored huckleberry. This is like real
flavored Adaho hook and it's like just enough flavored. Like wow,
that is really fresh. And so that's really good. Yes,
it's really good to try that. And then there's some
uh woman fudge Budges. Budge is a good one.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
I got my mom the Crime Broulet. She was obsessed.
And I got my dad the raspberry chocolate. He ate
the whole entire thing. It's good in one setting. So
shout out to you dad for the after that. But yeah,
yeah right, so yeah, so.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
And then Rapids Grill has some unique desserts items that
are really good, Like there's like a it's like a moose. Yeah,
it's really good. So and there's also the pastries upfront.
I don't think that was my.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
GM top and cinnamon rolls, rolls.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
I think they have chocolate croissants, almond crossots.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Did you mention the cookies as big as your face?
Speaker 1 (11:09):
No, we didn't.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
I have one of those at lunch today.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
So they're very good. In the brownies so good, caramel apple.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Okay, so I've gained ten pounds having this conversation. We're
going to cut this off because I can't afford any more, Travis,
but thank you for your question and let us know
what you think when you try everything. And finally, Lori
Mace wants to know, and so do I because I
don't think I actually is this funnel cake happy Hour?
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Well gosh, i'd have to figure out if they actually
do this still.
Speaker 4 (11:35):
Yeah, I remember hearing and this.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
I think it's actually really only during the prime season.
Five dollars funnel cakes before five o'clock.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
Five dollars funnel cakes before five o'clock.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
Okay, don't don't, but that's what it used to be.
I think it's.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
Still, but we'd have to talk to me. We have
to talk to so we're going to give you an
update or we're just going to cut this completely. We'll
see if it's still here. We're gonna give you an update.
If not, you never knew. Okay, perfect, So thank you
Laurie for that question, and again if you want to
be a part of the podcast and us your questions
(12:11):
at silverwthmepark dot com, slash podcast. And what do you
say we pick a loyal listener. We're gonna have to
do some random numberizers here, but we've got almost sixteen
hundred loyal listeners right now.
Speaker 4 (12:23):
So who let's pick a number. We have a winner.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
All right, let's call number six thirty five, and this
is Angelia. Hello, is this Angelia?
Speaker 3 (12:44):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (12:45):
Of Oh my goodness, Hey Angelia, this is Sarah and
Jordan from the Silverwood Show podcast here at Silverwood Theme Park.
How are you?
Speaker 5 (12:53):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (12:53):
Hey good?
Speaker 5 (12:54):
How are you?
Speaker 3 (12:54):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (12:54):
You're so good?
Speaker 4 (12:56):
Hey.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
You are our loyal listener this week and we wanted
to give you a call, give you some tickets to
the park, and play a little game with you if
you're up for it.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
Oh okay, yes, I'm ready.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
Okay, So no matter what, you get your pair of
tickets to the park, but we're gonna play true or
false with you. So you got a fifty percent chance
of getting every single thing right. Every time you do,
you get five dollars. We're going to do five of those,
and then so you have a chance of twenty five.
Then we have a sounder we're gonna play and you
have to listen to it and guess what right it is.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Yeah, and that's worth an extra fifty dollars. So if
we get that right, all of it together, he gets
seventy five dollars plus two tickets to the park.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
Sound good?
Speaker 3 (13:37):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (13:37):
Okay, First off, I want to kind of get to
know you first. Where are you from and have you
been to the park before.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
I have been to the park once before.
Speaker 4 (13:47):
Nice.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
I'm out of Nampa, Idaho.
Speaker 4 (13:50):
Okay, nice?
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Nice?
Speaker 4 (13:52):
We love our southern Idaho, Idaho.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Yes.
Speaker 5 (13:55):
Yeah, we're planning to visit on Father's Day weekend.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
Picked.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Yeah, you don't tickets for it if you need to
bring Mark? Yes, awesome, I love it. Okay, So are
you ready for your first true or false?
Speaker 3 (14:11):
Okay? I think so? Yes?
Speaker 2 (14:12):
Okay. Corkscrew is the first modern steel coaster in the
USA to take riders upside down.
Speaker 4 (14:20):
True or false?
Speaker 3 (14:21):
I think that's true.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
Nice. Five dollars in the bank, all right, Moving on,
to number two. During the days of the air show,
the red Barren pilot would swoop down and fire upon Snoopy.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
I think that Oh, I don't know. I think that
might be false.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
Not true, that's not true, correct, yeah, yeah, but ye're true.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
It was close to true because we called him sloopy
with an L. So just.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
A little trick question for you then, yeah, okay, no trademarks.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
You gotta be careful. Number three.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
Silverwood once had a roller skating rink.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
I think that might be true.
Speaker 6 (15:10):
No, that ice skating, skating, ice skating, Yes, but that's okay.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
We're moving on to the next one.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
He still got ten dollars.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
You still got ten dollars. Silverwood once had a lion
that got loose and was actually lying in the middle
of the freeway when he was found alive.
Speaker 4 (15:28):
Of course, who it just sounded bad when I read it.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
I'm like, that's got to be false.
Speaker 7 (15:37):
Oh that's true.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
True, that's true. Then he wants to life. He was
just fine. He was just having the best day, warming
himself on the.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
That was back in the nineties.
Speaker 4 (15:51):
Back in the nineties, you know when Ryan's at the park.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
Was normal.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
On the next one, When spin Cycle was added in
twenty thirteen, it was the tallest attraction of its kind
in the world.
Speaker 5 (16:05):
Spin Cycle. Wow, I've just been getting them wrong. I'll
mix it up and say.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (16:18):
I'll say true, that is correct.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
Yes, Okay, So you got fifteen dollars in the bank
and now you've got your sounder. So listen closely, guess
the ride.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
If you guess it correctly, another fifty dollars. And so
this is a new one. We've been playing another one,
but the last one got guessed. We have a brand
new one. We have no wrong answers yet. Typically we
would give you all the wrong answers, but this is
brand new. Here it comes. Oh man, can you guess
(16:53):
that ride?
Speaker 5 (16:54):
Oh man, I have no idea, just becas I only
know a few names of them. Okay, I would probably
say I don't know the cork screw.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
You got it?
Speaker 2 (17:11):
You got it all right? Well, you just got yourself
fifty sixty five dollars.
Speaker 4 (17:20):
I can do, good job, I know.
Speaker 7 (17:21):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (17:21):
Mat this hard.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
We will put that in with your tickets. And I'm
going to put those tickets and will call. But I
will give you a call after the show just to
give you the details on all of that. But congratulations,
we can wait to have you here on Thank You today. Yeah, yeah,
thank you guys so much.
Speaker 3 (17:37):
This was awesome.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
Finnel Case, yes.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
Whatever, Thank you so much and thanks for being one
of our loyal listeners.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
Yeah, thank you guys. Have a good one you too.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
By bye bye.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
All right, maybe that was too easy.
Speaker 4 (17:55):
Well, I don't know where.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
Maybe she was just it was meant to be. Maybe
it was meant to I mean we felt like it.
We knew she was going to be the one that
answered the phone.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
Yeah, or maybe they catch it on that If there's
a question about a ride, it might be the ride
that was mentioned.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
I kind of did that on the last one to
kind of that subliminal messaging that always works. So maybe
I shouldn't do that next one. May Maybe if you're listening,
you just might get lucky. So if you want to
be the next person we call, make sure to sign
up head to silverwidthemepark dot com slash podcast and we
could be calling you next. Let's head into the Big
Drop and talk to our special guest, Dru And we
(18:34):
are back with our very special guest of this episode. Everyone,
is so excited about the water park being open. So
we thought we'd bring in someone who knows the water
park inside and out. Expert expert, Yes, very much. So
some would say I would say Kaddy Lenna Hancause not
it's not Line Hand.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
It's Lena Hand and.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
She's he or she's our aquatics manager and so so
she literally knows all the ins and outs and all
the things. And so first off, let's kind of talk
about how long you've been here and what brought you
to Silverwood.
Speaker 7 (19:08):
Man, I've been here since twenty thirteen. Oh wow, yeah,
it's been a while. I look so young.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
I'm just.
Speaker 7 (19:17):
I'm just anytime somebody's surprised, I'm like, thank you, thank
you for thinking that I actually am. But yeah, I've
been here since twenty thirteen, and I've just done aquatics
this whole time. I know some people in management have
like switched to other departments like in their career at Silverwood,
but I've kind of just stuck with aquatics. I've helped
(19:39):
other departments, but it's mainly just been aquatics.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
Is that because you love it?
Speaker 2 (19:43):
Like that's oh you're okay.
Speaker 7 (19:44):
Hundred present. It's it's something that meshes well with my personality,
and I think, yeah, it's basically something that's worked really
well for me, and.
Speaker 4 (19:55):
It's not broke.
Speaker 7 (19:56):
Don't fix it, right, Yeah, Basically I like being outside
and I like, uh, interacting with the guests, and I
really enjoy the personalities that are attracted to aquatics. You know,
very outgoing people, very competitive, and that's kind of right
up my ali. So that's why I've kind of stayed
in aquatics.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
So you you started in aquatics just as like a lifeguard,
like frontline lifeguard. Yeah, how maybe how was that process,
Like why like when you first decided to become a
lifeguard and then now to be in a manager Like,
tell me how much you've grown from that first day
on the job to now, Oh.
Speaker 7 (20:34):
My gosh, there has been. I am a completely different
person compared to how I was my first day. Like
I still remember being scared to use my whistle, Like
I was very shy, Like I very quiet. I don't
think anybody really knew who I was because of how
quiet I was. I kind of just like blended, blended
into the background. My older sister was also a lifeguard
(20:57):
with me, but people didn't know I was there because
like they're like, oh, this is my sister. I'm just like, oh, yeah,
I'm here. But I remember the first time I used
my whistle on I guess I was just.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
Like, wow, that was empowering.
Speaker 7 (21:14):
Yeah, that was kind of cool. But yeah, my I
think I became very outgoing and more confident myself going
into it and continuing to do it because lifeguarding really
pushes you outside of your comfort zone and there's so
many different scenarios that you can run into that it
(21:37):
takes a lot of like adaptability in order to deal
with and with like every responsibility I've had, it's kind
of changed who I am and how I handle things.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
Yeah, yeah, you seem to be handling it wonderfully. Let's
talk about a little bit how things are going so
far this season?
Speaker 4 (21:58):
How was opening weekend?
Speaker 7 (22:01):
Opening weekend is its own like animal. I would say,
like there always happens to be like one thing that
happens that I've never experienced before, and it just happens
to be on opening Day, Like yeah, and even though
I've been here, like this is my thirteenth year, I
believe in like even even still now, like I'm still
(22:23):
dealing with things I've never dealt with before. Like we
had a little girl on polliwog who like was too
nervous to go down, and her guardian sent her down
the slide before the lifeguard could say, no, it was
just a polywog slide. Very she had a life jacket
like she had, she was tall enough and stuff, but
before the lifeguard could stop him, he kind of just
(22:43):
sent her down and she just stopped.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
Oh no, slide.
Speaker 7 (22:47):
Yeah, she was just in the slide hanging out and
heard it over the radio. So I like started to
meander over because like it wasn't my call, like somebody
one of our supervisors was just like, oh, I can
handle that. So I'm just like calmly walking over and stuff.
And I see he's still trying to talk to the
little girl, like trying to get her come down, and
he's like looking at me. He's like, what do we do.
I'm like, well, we've never dealt with this before because
(23:10):
most of the time you can get him to like
scoot down, but she just like did not want to move.
Speaker 4 (23:13):
She just like have all fours out like.
Speaker 7 (23:19):
Yeah. So I was just like, Okay, I guess we're
gonna have to shut it down and mind you the
supervisor who responded to this, he's like six' five or, six,
like he's the tallest guy in our. Department and this little,
girl she was so, small BUT i can only imagine
like seeing this giant guy being Like i'm gonna come get.
Speaker 1 (23:37):
You, Gosh i'm.
Speaker 7 (23:44):
Yeah it was pretty comical seeing him like help her
scoot down and stuff because he was just so.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
Big, yeah how did he even?
Speaker 2 (23:50):
Fit, yea, honestly BUT i mean things like that every single.
Day but for the most, part was the week on
a good, weekend did?
Speaker 4 (23:58):
IT i, mean so it was over, there wasn't.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
It?
Speaker 7 (24:01):
Yeah it, WAS i would say on the aquatic, side at,
least it was probably the smoothest dry run. Week LIKE
i was really proud of the. Lifeguards they only made
some like minor mistakes like getting, lost you, know like
that happens every single, year but still get.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
Lost yeah, yeah.
Speaker 7 (24:17):
Yeah, Yeah but it was. GREAT i think like we
we were able to handle, everything and we felt prepared
at least this, Year like there was a lot of
preparation that went into, it AND i think the whole
team was ready and so it went pretty, smooth. Honestly
and and the new guards they did so. Well like
they there's only so much you can prepare them for
(24:38):
before you just like send them out and. Stuff but,
yeah it was it was pretty.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Good what do you do to prepare your lifeguards for opening?
Day like from beginning to you are on? Stand what
does that process look? Like Because i'm sure a lot
of people listening to this all they know is the
head bobbing and they know all that kind of, stuff
but they don't know what actually goes into.
Speaker 7 (24:59):
It, yeah there is a lot that goes into preparing the. Lifeguards,
uh we are just getting them their. Certification it's a
four day class and so that's where they initially learn
how to be a, lifeguard how to, scan and how
to uh basically handle any kind of like lifeguard. Situations
(25:21):
and then we go into aquatics one want and attraction
training and that kind Of we take them through the
park it's empty, obviously and we also like show them
a little slide show that has all the information that
they need to know going into, it like how to
handle if a parent wants their kid to go down
but the kid doesn't want to come, down you. Know,
yeah so there's like so many different situations that can,
(25:44):
happen but like we usually tell them the most common
situations and if anything comes, up we tell them like
make sure you ask, questions make sure you ask for,
help like we're there to help, them and and it's
kind of hard to like really prepare them because there's
only so much you can tell them about out before
something happens like that's never happened. Before and when it
(26:05):
comes to dealing with, situations you could go like years
without handling anything kind of, stressful or you can happen
to deal with something on your first, day which happened
to my, Supervisor LIKE i didn't deal with anything crazy
until it was probably like a supervisor or something like. That,
Yeah and so it's also based off of like chance
(26:27):
really on and so some people might go into feeling,
prepared but then they don't realize like what they're signing up.
For like we're very cut and dry and we don't
sugarcoat what people are trying to sign up for when they,
Apply like we're very like just so you, know this
is a really tough, job like just from the day,
one before we even hire, them of just like letting them,
(26:48):
know like this can be pretty stressful on you and
who want you guys to, understand like we're here to
support you and teach. You but just so you, know
it's a tough job and it is, fun but it's still,
tough you.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
Know.
Speaker 7 (27:02):
Yeah, so like a lot goes into preparing them and
trying to make sure that they're ready to, go but
there's only so much you can, do and there's only
so much you can teach before experience is what they
need to do.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
That so, EXACTLY i, WAS i was over By Eagle
hunt On. MONDAY i don't think we're Here. MONDAY i,
was you're not Here. Monday, OKAY i didn't think SO
i didn't see, you but they. Were they were all
in a, circle and all ALL i heard was whistles
blowing like crazy whistles.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
Blow oh.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
Yeah and SO i walk over there and they're in
a circle and each one is blowing their whistle and
they're doing kind of what you're talking about the, beginning
like that tentative blow of your whistle and then they
would stop on someone who couldn't like blow it with full.
Force but that's a real. Thing like you can tell
those people that that that need a little more encouragement
to like go for.
Speaker 7 (27:51):
It, yeah he surprised how hard it is to use a?
Speaker 1 (27:53):
Whistle.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
Jordan you could teach them with your your gilly duck.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
Call, yeah maybe you. Should that happens a little. Different but, Yeah.
Speaker 7 (28:02):
I've never done the duck.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
Calls maybe that's what we need to, do is just
give them all's to scare. People just give them all duck,
calls because they really got to put. Them, yeah behind
the duck call and. Ducks, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (28:16):
YEAH i don't know If gerry would have proven that,
it but you know that's my.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
Idea so how many did you hire this? Year how
many lifeguards do we have on?
Speaker 7 (28:25):
Duty we haven't stopped hiring, yet so we the goal
is to usually have about two, hundred but generally we
get to about one eighty. ISH i think we're around
the one fifty to one forty range right. Now but like,
TODAY i have like five Interviews i'm, doing so it's constantly.
(28:45):
Happening one of my bosses, says the train never. Stops so,
really especially with, aquatics like we're constantly hiring because there's
so much training that needs to, happen and so it's
a bit of a bottleneck trying to get everybody through
so it takes longer for us to get people ready
to go for the water. Parks so we're just always.
Hiring do we have a lot of?
Speaker 4 (29:06):
Returners we?
Speaker 7 (29:08):
Do, yeah yeah we, have like, you, yeah we have
a whole department training that, happened AND i was just,
like everybody raised your. Hand if you're a, RETURNER i would,
say like eighty percent of people WHO i was just, like, oh,
okay that says a.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
Lot that's.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
Great, yeah good, thing that's a really good.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
Thing. Yeah, YEAH i KNOW i was going to say,
something BUT i kind of forgetting WHAT i was going to.
Say so we're going to move.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
On, okay tell me what is your favorite ride over
there in all Of Welder.
Speaker 7 (29:38):
Beach i'm gonna have to Say. Riptide. YEAH i know
a lot of people Say, ricochet, yeah But riptide is
probably my favorite because you're going head, on like on a,
map and you can go pretty fast if you know
what you're.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
Doing, yeah, well what do you? Do what's the? Secret? Yeah, WELL.
Speaker 7 (29:57):
I don't know IF i could, say have to be
off the record, record but like if you, so if
you're laying on the mat, flat what you want to
do is you want to get your weight on your
elbows and your, knees and when you're coming around the,
corner it's really hard because of like this centrifugal force
like pushing you. Down but like if you stand your
knees and your elbows you go.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
A lot faster and points of contact to the, side and.
Speaker 7 (30:23):
If you're resting and if you get a running, stock
that's not.
Speaker 6 (30:26):
Allowed what's your fastest?
Speaker 1 (30:30):
TIME i want to say legal, time legal.
Speaker 5 (30:34):
Time.
Speaker 6 (30:40):
She's like my.
Speaker 7 (30:41):
JOB i would say probably like seven point. Ones this
is something that was a couple of years ago, though
so IT'S.
Speaker 5 (30:54):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (30:55):
KNOW i Think i've been in the, eight SO i
don't know If i've ever hit. Seven should we have a, Competition,
well we always have.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
Competitions AND i feel like we need to have A danny.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
Versus get running. Starts, Sure, okay that's what. Happened, SO i,
mean we haven't really talked a lot about Emal, forest
but like Ema forest last year opening, Year like what
what went well with? That like what did you see
from guests as far as like interacting with that. Space
(31:26):
that's a good.
Speaker 7 (31:26):
Question With Elmo, forrest it was it was kind of
tough because we had never really experienced an expansion, before
like including, Me Like i've handled new, attractions but having
a whole new area was a lot to say last
because we were it was ready to, open like pretty
(31:49):
close to when we were going to, open you, know
so we're we're kind of learning along the, way and
AND i think what went well wash the team being
able to adapt to and being able to handle situations.
Together you, know nobody was trying to take on too
much of the load of answering questions and stuff like,
(32:11):
that and being able to kind of adapt to anything that.
Changed because With Eagle, hunt we're dealing with a water.
Coaster we never dealt with a water coaster on the
water park side, before and so efficiency was a huge
part of, that and so there was there was a
lot that went into trying to figure out how we
could do this in the most efficient way possible and
(32:33):
safe as possible way as. Well and SO i think
it went well in trying to figure out what worked
best for us and trying to figure out how to
handle answering questions when we ourselves didn't always know the
answer because it was new to, us and so we
really had to adapt to. That AND i think the
(32:53):
team did a really good job with.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
That so what did you, Learn, like what are you
learning bringing into this here? Too make it? Better because
that's the goal every year is to make things. Better
what's gonna what's CAN i guest expect and maybe they
might not even see what's actually happening behind the scenes
of making this? Better but what do you what do
you feel like you are bringing to this year that
you learned from last?
Speaker 7 (33:13):
Year we definitely sat down as a leadership team to figure, Out,
okay what is the most efficient way that we can
do this because we were we were literally testing throughout
the whole summer of what the best way possible to
dispatch at The watercoaster would. Be and so this year
we were able to come together as a team and
really discuss it and figure, Out, okay we need to
(33:36):
come up with a plan of what we're going to
do this year and stick with. It and so that
was something that we could go into this year doing
and so it was nice being able to come into
this year like, prepared of like having a plan of
like this is how we're going to do, it and
we're going to stick with it and hopefully it works.
Well so, Yeah, yeah that's.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
GREAT i always got to get that first year out
of the way and then it's just, yeah slowly smooth
ceiling from. There so, yeah what's your.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
Favorite food in the water? Park? Hm. Hmmm do you
get to eat much in the water?
Speaker 7 (34:11):
PARK i don't like whatever, basically, okay So i'm kind of.
BIASED i love, pizza, okay bias for. That so like
those little personal pizzas that you can. Get it's now
in rapids brill but when they were In Sapphire kitchen
(34:31):
might have been eating those.
Speaker 1 (34:32):
Everything i'm just.
Speaker 7 (34:35):
Every now and THEN i would have the rice, bowl
but like the pepperoni, pizza.
Speaker 1 (34:39):
Yeah so. Good BUT i had The sweet And sour
pork On monday and with the extra little packet of
sweet and sour sauce drizzled all over the fried. Rice
it was. Good it was really.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
Good.
Speaker 1 (34:52):
Yeah SO i tried the.
Speaker 7 (34:54):
Potstickers, YEAH i was.
Speaker 1 (34:56):
Surprised oh and just so we're on the food for
Our like the, TRAINING i had the chicken and, waffles
WHICH i had never had chicken waffles.
Speaker 4 (35:05):
BEFORE i forgot that we have chicken and waffles, now.
Speaker 1 (35:07):
And it was. Amazing like so it's like waffles and fried. Chicken,
yeah it's like a fried chicken with like a waffle.
PATTY i mean a waffle waffle. Bun waffle, bun, yeah waffle.
Bun and then they, NO i don't know if you.
Want they're very sweet. Waffles but they also have like
(35:28):
a they say it's like the raisin cane, sauce like
a style, sauce WHICH i never had raisin, cain BUT
i heard and they and you put it on there
and it is really. Good so next time you walk
in By rabbits, grill, yeah rab a chicken. Waffle there's
a lot.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
More options In.
Speaker 4 (35:43):
Rapids.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
Yeah, yeah so that's going to be and still super,
fast super smooth. Service and the fan when you walk.
Speaker 3 (35:52):
In is my.
Speaker 2 (35:52):
Fat i'm en mentioning that As i'm dying right, now
So i'm, like, oh that fan woul feels so.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
Good one question we always get asked about the water
park is why is North Wave pool always? Closed?
Speaker 7 (36:04):
Yeah we did every single, day like even on a
rainy day, like so it's, like why is this pool? Closed,
Yeah i'm like there's no guests, around right, Right, okay but,
yeah North wave is usually closed because we have a
certain amount of guests that we need to hit before
we actually open. It so we usually hit that around
like Mid july, ish kind of fourth Of july starting
(36:26):
and then. Onwards so it's really dependent on how many
guests we think we're going to have in the park
if we Open North. Wave SO i didn't even know
it's not because it's.
Speaker 1 (36:35):
Broken it works just, fine, RIGHT i, mean how many
how many guards does it take to run The North?
Speaker 7 (36:41):
Wave it takes four, minimum.
Speaker 1 (36:44):
Four, minimum so those four minimum could be used for
breakers in other areas within the park and that's a reason.
Speaker 2 (36:51):
Why so efficiency, again, yeah nothing's, broken we're just.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
Efficient what is your favorite attraction to? Guard, oh Definitely
Southwave southway because of the.
Speaker 7 (37:02):
Action, yes there's the reason WHY i like being a.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
Lifeguard jumping in and doing the.
Speaker 7 (37:10):
Saves anybody who Enjoys wavepool would probably say the same.
Thing but, like being able to rescue people is a
huge part of life. Guarding it's not like the main
part of life, guarding but rescues are are definitely kind
of like top notch experiences that you can have as a,
lifeguard and that's that's something THAT i always like to.
(37:31):
Chase you, KNOW i DON'T i don't get to do
it as much, Anymore.
Speaker 1 (37:34):
Right how often do you get to do?
Speaker 7 (37:36):
It, uh like an actual rescue like?
Speaker 1 (37:39):
Stand oh uh.
Speaker 7 (37:40):
It it just depends on Where i'm. Needed like if
somebody needs a bathroom, break you Know I'm i'm more
than happy to give him a bathroom. Break so it's
just based off of. Need but Usually i'm somebody that
we keep on radio just in case something does, happen
BECAUSE i would need to be there for. That but
if we have enough people like AND i happen to be,
(38:01):
There i'm gonna go do that bathroom.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
Break. Yeah, Yeah, well this is another question that we
get Asked lon is, like what is up with the bobbing?
Heads what is that all?
Speaker 7 (38:11):
About, okay, YEAH i totally. Understand it does look, Funky
But silverwood is In Iana facility Or Elson, associates and
So Elson associates TEACHES u, scanning and what scanning is is,
basically you're watching your water in a very, methodical consistent
(38:33):
way within about ten. Seconds you need to be able
to see your whole zone within ten seconds and get
to the farthest end of it in twenty. Seconds and
we call that maintaining our ten twenty and that is
what scanning. Is you don't have to bob your head
traditionally that's how it's, been but you can do whatever
pattern you, want so you actually might see some if
you like pay really close, attention you might see some
(38:55):
guards who are like actually doing, this or who are
doing Horizontal yeah she.
Speaker 1 (39:00):
Was she was doing circles and that would make me. Dizzy.
Speaker 7 (39:03):
Yeah, yeah it just depends on the, person because they
don't want you to focus on one person in the
zone because you could be focusing on somebody who might
be causing, trouble but there might be somebody drowning on
the other side of your. Zone so it's a way
to practice and teach lifeguards to look at your whole
zone and pay attention to everything that's happening in your
(39:23):
zone without focusing on something and missing something. Else.
Speaker 2 (39:26):
Interesting, yeah you, Know i'm learning all these. Things, yeah
this is, great. Exactly, okay so now next TIME i
see that, bomb, Like i'm gonna hundred percent know what's going,
on BUT i still want to know what kind of
action happens In, Southway, oh, Rescues, yeah like. Craziness uh,
(39:48):
yeah people just get wild out.
Speaker 7 (39:50):
THERE i wouldn't say. THAT i would say people underestimate
how intense the way pol Can, yeah And southwave is
a foot deeper Than North.
Speaker 4 (39:58):
Way how deep is?
Speaker 7 (40:00):
It it goes to seven, feet BUT i believe the
booy line stops at Six, Okay, okay so you can't
go past the booby. Line, yeah Un, yeah we're doing
practicing and. Stuff we'll do. It but, yeah we're trained, professionals.
Right but, YEAH i would, say like the main thing
(40:21):
is that people underestimate how intense the waypool can be
because we have rescues happening every single. Day, surprisingly SO
i want to say opening day we had three. RESCUES
i can't tell you how many we. Had the second day.
Speaker 4 (40:34):
WHEN i was a little, GIRL i almost drowned a wave.
Speaker 2 (40:37):
Pool, yes and it's Like i'm not a, swimmer probably
for that reason because it was, terrifying but thank goodness
to the lifeguards that were.
Speaker 4 (40:44):
There it was like The edmonton mall or.
Speaker 2 (40:46):
So, yeah and, wow, yeah it's, true you Don't you
got to realize what that Can.
Speaker 1 (40:54):
Yeah but that's got like where the scanning comes.
Speaker 2 (40:56):
From that why that makes big sense to me because
if you're AND i was just a little, thing probably
surrounded by a bunch of adults and, yeah just kind
of went. Unnoticed so, yeah, yeah that's that's typically how it.
Speaker 7 (41:08):
HAPPENS i would say people underestimate the dangers behind using water.
Recreationally like there's a lot of people who come into
it uneducated and they don't realize how easy it is
for a drowning to. Happen and so it's really our
job to kind of fill in that gap and make
sure that even though people are uneducated and don't know
or don't understand the dangers behind water, safety we're at
(41:31):
least there to kind of like help prevent that from.
Happening and so typically when rescues happen In south or
in any of the way pools or anywhere in the,
park it's usually happening before anything serious. Happens so it
is there's like a couple different stages of the drowning,
process but we're usually they're at the.
Speaker 1 (41:51):
Top so and so this leads into into. That so
if you're walking around the park and you see lifeguards with,
beads oh, yeah what do those beads? Represent and like
how does someone earn those?
Speaker 7 (42:02):
Beads so we change the colors every single year.
Speaker 1 (42:07):
The whistle is that on their whistles that where they
typically have.
Speaker 7 (42:09):
Them, yes so on, THERE i should have brought my,
LANYER i should have brought one of my or. Something,
Yeah but the colors that don't usually change are going
to be the red. Beads so that's the rescue. Beads
that's usually the ones that like a lot of people. Have,
typically if we have somebody who Loves, wavepool.
Speaker 1 (42:31):
You have a lot of.
Speaker 2 (42:32):
Beads they have a lot of red, beads and then
has a lot of red.
Speaker 7 (42:36):
Beads we actually didn't have the beads WHEN i was,
like oh, sad YEAH i. DO i do sometimes get
red beads because we do have things happen AND i
respond to them and. Stuff but like feels kind of
weird giving myself a beads and get a.
Speaker 1 (42:54):
Bead yeah, Yeah.
Speaker 7 (42:57):
I'm kind of just LIKE i don't even. Announce i'll
just like grab a bead and be, like, YEAH i
got a bead. Today but we also have white. Beads
those are for our core values or just like if
they did did something, well, uh and then we have
guard excellent. Speads those are the black. Ones and then
we have team. Beads those are a range of, colors
(43:17):
and then silver beads are for guest. COMPLIMENTS i know
that's a team bead this. YEAR i think a guest
compliment is a purple bead this. Year my team's gonna be.
Speaker 4 (43:30):
Like, Okay danny seem comment on, that so that we
know which.
Speaker 7 (43:36):
Beads let's. See we also have beads for when the
auditor comes and they audit our. Guards if they pass
the audit or getting, exceeds they get a. Bead and
THEN i believe there's also other department. Compliments so somebody
from a different department does or has a compliment about a,
(43:57):
lifeguard then we give them a. Bead that's like the
hardest one to. Get, Actually so, okay you're heard a. Year, yeah,
yeah and every.
Speaker 4 (44:05):
COMPLIMENT i was gonna, Say i'm just gonna go compliment.
Speaker 7 (44:07):
Everybody, yeah okaycreating.
Speaker 1 (44:12):
Process got? It got?
Speaker 6 (44:14):
That?
Speaker 7 (44:15):
Yeah because that beats so hard to, Get like you
get the most team points.
Speaker 1 (44:18):
If you get is, like it's. Points what's that?
Speaker 7 (44:21):
For so every single year we divvy up the lifeguards
into teams because we like to be competitive and we
like to make the job fun because it is a stressful,
job so we do everything in our power to like
make it. Fun and so anytime they do something, good
we do team, points and we changed the theme of
the teams every single. Year this Year's Pokemon, okay last
(44:45):
year was how To train Your. Dragon so, yeah but,
yeah you can get certain amount of points for each
bead and other department. Compliments is the highest, one so, yeah.
Speaker 1 (44:57):
Now we, know we, know, yeah, okay.
Speaker 2 (45:01):
But, YEAH i really. Am i'm just gonna be out there.
Speaker 1 (45:04):
Quickly before we move on to the next talked about
about like an. Audit what does that all, entail and
like how have we done in the past and and
when did those usually?
Speaker 7 (45:15):
Happen so with, Audits i'm guessing you're talking about With,
yeah so they're they're, unannounced so they can come whenever
during a month in the, summer and so it typically
they come about three times during the. Summer they can do,
more but that's typically what it. Is so as the
month goes, on we start to get a little more.
(45:36):
Antsy by the, way we have ten more days in the,
month they might.
Speaker 1 (45:41):
Show, up.
Speaker 7 (45:44):
But we typically do a pretty good job with. Audits
it's really important to me that we're keeping our park
at the same standard that the rest of the industry
is in because we are a privately owned, Company it's
it's kind of hard to do that, sometimes you, know
because you don't have as many, connections and it's not
like a, franchise you, know like Six flags Or yea yeah,
(46:12):
yeah Or Great Wolf lodge is another. One they they're
very interconnected and so they have a very like set
and consistent way of how they do. Things like for,
us we were very unique and there's not a lot
of else facility facilities in this, area you, know and
so being able to try to make sure that our
(46:33):
park is at the same standard as everybody else and
is consistent with the rest of the standard really helps
with making those audits go. Smoothly and that was SOMETHING
i kind of had to learn the hard, way like
coming in as a manager and not always knowing what
was expected of me because nobody told me HOW i
was supposed to do my, job and so like the first,
Audit i'll be, honest was kind of. Rough, yeah it
(46:56):
was kind of rough because LIKE i wasn't entirely sure paperwork,
wise how we were supposed to have things look because
there are certain like documents that need to look a
certain way or you need to use a certain, template
AND i learned that the hard. Way so like, yeah
but like now we we do a pretty good. Job
like we're always at the meats or exceeds. Standards it
(47:17):
kind of just depends on the, month BECAUSE i would,
say like even if we're out of, meats we're like
one guard off observation away from it. Exceeds so like
it's it really just depends on the, day because we
can have like a really good day and the auditors not.
There they come on like a really busy day when
it's like really, hot and so like the guards aren't
(47:38):
at the top of their, game you, know and so
it kind of just. Depends it's it's really random, sometimes
BUT i would, say like we're still at that standard
when it comes to the audits and.
Speaker 4 (47:47):
Stuff, hey oh that's way.
Speaker 1 (47:49):
Better that's what we. Want, yeah we want to.
Speaker 4 (47:51):
EXACTLY i Mean i've heard other water parks that.
Speaker 7 (47:54):
Might have those.
Speaker 2 (47:54):
Franchises not thems are great with their their, Audits so that's.
Speaker 1 (47:58):
Fantastic, well SO i have a game for us to. Play,
okay it's going to Be danny Versus. Sarah, okay So
i'm Gonna i'm gonna always get. Scared i'm going to
Give i'm gonna give you a. Clipboard don't. Worry And
i'm going to give you a. Clipboard i'm gonna give
you each a. Pen, okay here we. Go here's a.
(48:20):
Pen here's a. Pen SO i guess my thought process
behind this game, was what's one thing that makes a good? Lifeguard,
like what's one important aspect of being a good? Lifeguard
AND i would, say like paying attention to. Detail would
you say that's an important? Thing? YEAH i would, Say, okay,
good that was. Right SO i HAVE i have about
(48:43):
a forty second clip THAT i put together of like
Water Park, ambiance And i'm going to have nine questions
to ask you about this forty. Seconds, Okay so that's a.
Clip so pay, attention and if you're listening at, home
try to see if you can get better than these.
Speaker 4 (49:01):
Two DO i need to write things down As, no.
Speaker 1 (49:04):
You're not writing things THAT i am going To you're
just gonna think in your. Head and because you don't
know What I'm i'm going to, ask because afterwards THEN
i have the questions That i'm going to ask, you
and then you're gonna write them down and then we're
going to reveal them together and see who gets the most.
Point got?
Speaker 7 (49:18):
It, okay whatever, HAPPENS i swear at.
Speaker 4 (49:21):
My, job whatever, Happens, ye, Listening.

Speaker 1 (50:35):
Great. Okay question number one, okay did the polywog bucket
dump its? Water that is a yes or no, Question
so well you got fifty Percent. Jackson you don't have
to hear, it so we don't need to say maybe
(50:56):
did you hear a baby? Crying the question number three
is what is said at the thirty three second. Mark i'm,
SORRY i don't know how hard these are going to
be BECAUSE i built, it SO i was not counting

(51:20):
thinking how many train? Whistles did you hear did you
hear an eagle? Call a? CROW i didn't ask about.
That did you hear an eagle?
Speaker 4 (51:31):
Call as long as you're not counting the, CROW i know.
Speaker 1 (51:35):
What the difference. Is how many lifeguard whistles were? Blown
how many crow cause were? There how many times were the?
Words Grab on, Said, oh it Wasn't.
Speaker 4 (51:53):
GRANDMA i thought it was.
Speaker 7 (51:56):
Grandma no it wasn't.
Speaker 1 (51:58):
Grandma, oh, okay that's. Nine so the week we're gonna
go with? Nine, okay here we. Go so the first
one is did the polywalk bucket dump its? Water what

Yay AND i guess the only REASON i know that
is because the ding Ding.
Speaker 7 (52:20):
It's just, like oh this is. Pollywog.
Speaker 1 (52:22):
Yeah actually it was a lazy, river but we were
right next to, pollywok so you can get. There, okay

Correct ding ding? DING i need to get my ding

Speaker 3 (52:43):

Speaker 1 (52:43):
Oh, yes number? Three what is said at the thirty
three second.
Speaker 7 (52:47):

Speaker 1 (53:47):

Eight but, okay how many bird or how many crow CAUSE.
Speaker 4 (53:56):

many did you tie it up? For six Versus. Sarah
sarah was the. Winner sarah's the. Winner that's, okay that
was not a real life.
Speaker 7 (54:35):
Artisan animal.
Speaker 2 (54:36):
Noises will notice animal, noises even THOUGH i got the crows.
Speaker 1 (54:40):
Wrong but, yes the animal noises is definitely got towards. Me,
yeah it was a little. BIT i had to help
you out a little.
Speaker 4 (54:47):
Bit thank, You jordan for not making me look completely.
Speaker 1 (54:51):
Foolish, okay and here is our inside scoop.
Speaker 2 (54:53):
Scoop, So, danny what is your super secret insider tip
to help make our Guests Boulder beach experience go just
a little bit?
Speaker 4 (55:03):
Better, okay a lot, BETTER i would.
Speaker 7 (55:05):
Say, Okay so when it comes to, chairs so, yes
yes You're you're not gonna hear this anywhere. Else so
chairs are definitely something that people really want at the
beginning of the. Day and usually people are grabbing this
chair that they, see like as soon as they see,
(55:26):
it you, know and so like chairs Out, pollywog they
pick them, up take them to the. Southway you. Know
generally we have chairs in every single area at the.
Park so it's a lot better if you pick an
area of the, park like you have a plan of
where you want to sit in the, park there's going
to be chairs in that. Area so definitely it'll save
you a lot of, time and it'll save your kids
(55:47):
from having to cause the parents are like grab those you,
know they're, like we're not doing.
Speaker 3 (55:52):
It you.
Speaker 7 (55:53):
ARE i would, say, like pick an area of the.
Park there are chairs in that, area and it'll save
you a lot of time and. Stress AND i would
say like the farther in you, go the more chairs there,
are because people are grabbing chairs as soon as they see.
Them so the more into the park you go there,
are this is going to be more chairs available to.
Speaker 4 (56:14):
You, yeah that makes.
Speaker 1 (56:15):
Sense and we got more chairs this. Year is that? Correct, yes, yes,
great it is. Correct that is.
Speaker 7 (56:22):
Good, yeah we're actually placing them this.
Speaker 1 (56:24):
Week so okay placing?
Speaker 3 (56:25):
Them what do you.
Speaker 7 (56:26):
Mean, uh we're going to be having two different designs of.
Chairs so the new chairs that we have this, year
we're going to be placing in The South wave, area,
uh and then we'll have the older chairs kind of
in The North wave. Areas so we'll be it'll be
based off of like each area where chairs are, going
(56:47):
so they're not just like.
Speaker 1 (56:48):
Everywhere if you're coming to the, park like just on
an off. Day if you do do if you come
to the park on your off, day where where is
your place that you like to to set your? Stuff,
like where's your prime spot to set up camp for the.
Speaker 7 (57:04):
Day, well, yeah NORMALLY i don't go into the.
Speaker 1 (57:11):
Water, okay? Gotcha, Wow, OKAY.
Speaker 7 (57:14):
I, mean Like i'm there all the. Time but IF
i had to, PICK i would probably pick probably the
grassy area just Past North wave and there's usually not
as many people over. THERE i would, say like the
farther north you, go there's less, people.
Speaker 1 (57:30):
So, WELL i, think, yeah that's a spot that there's
a lot of shade up there, too which is nice in.
Grass So i'll give a double. SCOOP i. Think one
thing that people don't really realize is like if you
really want that beach, vibe there's sand there is there
is sand that you can come and park on The Lazy.
River so if you go onto The Lazy river island out,
(57:52):
there there's a sand spot and people can come and
like that's if that's your spot to stay and then
put your feet in the nice, sand that's, great.
Speaker 7 (58:00):
Yep and it's pretty secluded to very.
Speaker 1 (58:02):
Secluded, yeah and you're really close to the, cove which
is your float of. Bar so come, on.
Speaker 7 (58:09):
You're close to everything because it's a very central location in.
Speaker 1 (58:13):
There's not a lot of people that. GO i, mean
you have people floating by you all, day but you
don't you don't have a lot of foot traffic because
there's not a lot of people going down that way
because you're On, yeah you're on the. Island SO i
would say that's a good. SPOT i would also, say,
uh the trees over by reptid racer up there on
that little hill is a good spot as, well because
that's where we set up our camp and now don't
(58:34):
take it, please because we like to be.
Speaker 7 (58:36):
There, yeah you don't see a lot of people camping
up there for.
Speaker 4 (58:39):
Sure, yeah that's.
Speaker 2 (58:40):
Great what about the little hidden, table, oh the hidden
over By avalanche About, yeah that's a good. One so
you're heading Towards avalanche and right at the end of
that first you have to.
Speaker 1 (58:56):
Go down the. Exit you go down the, exit which
is it feels a little, awkward but there is a
one that's open cabana that's not that it's like a shade. Structure,
yeah but it is very secluded.
Speaker 7 (59:06):
And it's also surrounded by.
Speaker 4 (59:07):
Trees, yes so, yeah shady.
Speaker 7 (59:10):
NICE i would, say, yeah that grassy area too over
there is probably a good place to camp to because
it's not very. MANY i don't think anybody really campus.
Speaker 6 (59:18):
Theres yeah, yeah beaudiful. Scoop we did, It, yeah we did.
Speaker 2 (59:24):
It, yeah well, YEAH i guess that's. It, danny thank
