Speaker 1 (00:04):
Silver, Come jyned up fun. Thrills that'll make come chyn
not fun, silver come tied up Fun. Welcome to the fun.
In this week's episode of The Silverwood Show podcast, I'm
your host, Sarah Jean. I've got my co host Jordan here,
and Jordan, are you having fun yet? I'm always having fun,
always having fun?
Speaker 2 (00:24):
How you not that that intro song like it wakes you.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Up, well, especially when it's screamed in your ear and
it wakes you up so literally. That was my second
scream today, Jordan, what do you mean? I got scared?
Someone jump scared me this morning? When where I was
the second jump skuy. I know you'd be excited about that.
That's why I've been waiting you. Okay, So I'm sitting
at my desk and the lovely woman who played pig
Mama in last year Scary One decided she was going
(00:51):
to come in and scare me silly, and I screamed
what she got with me? She just jumped around the
corner like a crazy person and she got me. But
this is what's really funny is when I went into
our HR department this morning, they were laughing really really
loud and Apparently some jump scares had been happening this
morning as well in h R hiding behind the laundry basket. Yeah,
(01:14):
some londery basket behind the laundry huh wow, And there
was some jitters going on. So I feel like people
are starting to feel that itch for Scary Wood a
little bit. I knew you'd get excited about that, so
I told them I'd save.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
That for you.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
So yeah, too. That means a lot of successful scares
in one morning. And it's not even August. Is it August?
Speaker 2 (01:35):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:35):
Not yet? Not yet?
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Wow?
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Well when this yes technically.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
For us right now at this moment.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
Yeah, not quite yet. But anyway, that's aside the point.
So let's just start thinking about Scary Wood, you know,
just get into that. But we have a fun episode
this week. We've kind of been doing this almost every quarter, right.
Speaker 4 (01:53):
Yeah, and seasonally seasonally, especially when we get overloaded with questions.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
Yeah, so we're doing a mail train episode. Another ticket
to the mail train happening today. So all of our
loyal listener questions, all of our emails, all of those
social media questions that come through, and you guys asked,
and we're going to answer and we're going to do
the best that we can with answering those We've got
like twenty five hundred loyal listeners.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
Now that's crazy, that's great, and they all have questions,
and so we're going to try to answer as many
of those as we can.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
I mean, we're not going to answer all twenty five
hundred or.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
Else y'all would fall asleep on that, So we'll need
to save some for later episodes.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
But if some of those questions are redundant, when do
I win tickets? When are you going to call me?
So we will be calling a loyal listener today as well,
So just one, not twenty five hundred. No, not twenty
five hundred, sorry today, not today. So we've got that
coming up as well. But let's kick things off with
Park Pulse.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
Park pulls.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
Would you like me to kick things off? Kick away,
kick and away because read to Ride applications are officially open.
That means if you want your school to be involved
and read to ride for next season. So the read
to Ride that starts January first, make sure that they
go apply. They've only got to November thirtieth. They can
go to sw read the number two ride dot com
(03:15):
and just click on what it does It say apply
now or something like that, and just click on that
and sign your school.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Leup something.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
It's just sign up, sign up, sign up. Yeah. And
let me just say this, And I know I shouldn't
have to, but I do. Just scroll down, just scroll down.
I've already gotten emails like I don't see the application
you got to It's there. You gotta scroll down. So
what we want is for you to read the rules
and then sign up. There you go ideally in that way.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
Well, I think that's an important thing, yeah, because we
have had different people, yes, not read the rules and
then we have to correct and so I think it's
important going into it to know what is all expected.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Yes, everybody has to sign up every.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Year, every single year, doing a lottery system. We got
too big for our breitches, yeah, and so we can
only accept so many schools from each region. So we'll
do a lottery come December and you will either get
an acceptance or denial letters. So if you do apply,
you will receive one of those. And you're going to
want to make sure that Silverwood is on your white list.
(04:15):
Make sure that you save our contact info, make sure
that your school District also has Silverwood on their white list.
Otherwise we might go to your spam folders and you
might not ever see our emails, and that was a
big issue we had last year because security measures are
getting heightened because as technology gets to where it is,
things tend to get a little bit rougher when it
comes to get in your emails. So just make sure
you follow through all of that. Make sure you sign
(04:37):
up if you have a school or a co op
over fifteen or more kiddos that will be participating, not
fifteen or more total. We need fifteen or more participants
and then you can get things started and we can
start looking forward to next season. So that's that. Also,
Coaster Classic, we're sneaking up on that really.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:57):
Registration as open for that, So if you go to
our website at silverwithmepark dot com and go to events,
you can click on the link to sign up for
Coaster Classic, which is our classic car show, which happens
the Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend. So come
out to the park and bring your car, enjoy the
park last weekend of the water park. It's always a
(05:18):
fun time and then maybe win some prizes for your
beautiful car.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
Yeah, or just come and scope out all those beautiful Yeah,
super fun. It's amazing. But you just said last week
into the water park.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Hey, we still have a month.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
We still have a month month. I know it's gone fast.
I weren't We just like wishing that the water park
would be open, and we were talking about water park
drive run and now we're talking it goes fast. It's
so fast, So don't miss out on summer. Don't miss
out on summer.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Get out here will not wait for you.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
No, and it's flying by, So make sure to get
those tickets online. You can get ten dollars off when
you purchase them online. Yeah, we did a little story
with KHQ yesterday that there was some confusion. We were
talking about a family of four what tickets would call,
and I saw some comments of people being very confused.
So just know that if you saw that story yesterday,
it wasn't individual tickets. It was cost for a family
(06:09):
of four. So our tickets are not that expensive. No,
I saw that. Yeah, so that a little bit of confusion. Again.
You know, people don't read past the headlines times and
then they get confused. So I did want to clarify that.
But one other thing I wanted to clarify is that
I'm winning so far with will It Coast. Jordan, don't
push the button. I want to. You want to so
(06:29):
bad as space. He's like, oh, but yeah, I think
I've got more votes. Basic start to get a couple
of votes.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
There based on who.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
First of all, I've seen your mom vote, and I've
seen your dad vote.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Huh, And pig Mama voted our our head of sale,
group of sales, the group Window Lindsay she voted for me.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
You're you're not doing yourself any favors right now. These
are all votes that you've tried to get, but.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
You're not getting any, even from your family. Sorry. Oh
but your mom did follow me on Instagram. I was
really excited about that. So shout out to Jordan's mom
because that made me feel really special. So, yeah, you
you should probably start showing up for this will Coast thing.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
What else do we have left? I I just that's it.
Speaker 4 (07:21):
We're gonna we're gonna watch it ourselves because we haven't
watched it together, and then we are going to debate
and see who wins.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
So we're not going to individually release the makeup.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
And no, we already released all of them together.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
Oh on Facebook. Oh I still need to get ahead
on Instagram, that's why. Okay, okay, so we still got
a few more to go on Instagram, but so go
check it out. The full video is on YouTube on
our theme park channel.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
It's a fun video.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
In fact, our producer ran into somebody and I heard that. Yeah,
that was he didn't know that he was the one
that actually created the video and was talking about how
funny the video was. Hey, hey, man, have you seen
this video yet? Like, I haven't scene it. No, it's
so good. That's how we know it's good. Isn't people
about it like that? So what do you say? We
call a loyal listener and give them some free tickets? So,
(08:13):
loyal listener, why don't we randomize a number, give them
a call, give them some free tickets, and play a
little game. Okay, let's do it. Let's do it, randomized, randomize,
do it. We have a winner. We have a winner
number two, three, four, four. Let's give them a call. Hello, Hey, Renee,
(08:37):
this is Sarah, Jane and Jordan from the Silverwood Show
podcast here at Silverwood Theme Park. How are you good?
Speaker 4 (08:43):
How are you?
Speaker 1 (08:44):
We are so good? Hey, guess what you're this week's
loyal listener. Oh really you are, which means which means
you get a pair of to works.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
You get a pair of tickets to come out to Silverwood.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
You want, yeah, you want, you want a pair of tickets.
Don't listen to me listening to Jordan because he's the
one that can talk today apparently. But hey, on top
of that pair of tickets, we wanted to see if
you would play a little game with us for your
chance to win upwards of seventy five dollars. Perfect, yeah, okay,
are you ready for your first true or false? Yes? Okay?
(09:17):
Silverwood covers more than four hundred and thirteen acres true. Correct, Yes,
nice work. Five dollars in the bank. Number two Roaring
Creek log Flume was relocated from Kentucky, Kingdom.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
True.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
That is correct, back in the way, back in the day. Okay.
Number three Gary Norton, the owner and founder of the park,
is still part of the day to day operations. True
like it? Okay, fifteen dollars in the bank. Number four
Timber Terror was originally named the Wolf.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
Oh gosh, true, it's actually the Grizzly, the Grizzly, We're
just trying too And now the final tru or false.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Silverwood co hosted the Golden Ticket Awards back in twenty nineteen. Oh,
why do I feel like I've heard of this? I'm
gonna say true, nice word awesome? All right, So twenty
dollars in the bank, and now it's Jordan's turn to
play this sound.
Speaker 4 (10:33):
Okay, I'm going to play this SoundBite. It could be
a ride that's either in Silverwood or Boulder Beach. Past
guesses are Stremmers?
Speaker 2 (10:43):
What was the other one?
Speaker 1 (10:44):
Was it the log Flume? No, have lunch Mountain? No,
I don't remember.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
It was Tremors and I think it was it was
stunt pilots. Trummers and stunt pilot were both wrong answers.
So we're going to give you this sound bite. Here
it comes. It's a nice and quick one. Do you
know what ride?
Speaker 1 (11:04):
That is? After shock?
Speaker 2 (11:08):
After shock is incorrect.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
You still get your twenty dollars in tickets.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
But that sound is going to move on to the
next person.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
I don't even know what it is, and so it's
driving hard or razy because I have no idea what
it is. And he won't tell me, but hey, I'll
give you a call or a text here once we
get off the podcast to let you know about how
to get those tickets and your gift card out of
will call and we so appreciate you playing a little
game with us today. Awesome, Thank you so much, Thank
you much. Have a great day, you too, back perfect. Well,
(11:35):
I'm going to just say that her phone cut out
and she couldn't hear the sounder correctly, I think she could,
you think so.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
I think she could still, But you don't know.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
What it is.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
I would think after shock. That's it was a good guest.
Sounds like me the other day when you put me
on after Shock and I basically passed out. Yeah, so
wan and done. We're good. It's not the same as tremors,
by the way, Wow, definitely not. All right, let's get
into some of these questions because we've got a bunch
of them, and this is going to be the whole
episode we're dedicating it. So are you ready to kick
(12:03):
things off? Do you want me to ask you? And
you kind of answer? Are we doing the mail train again? No,
it's the Big Drop, Okay, the Big Drop mail Train.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
The Big Drop mail train.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
It works. It works too to the mail drop the
mail drop. Oh, I like that like out of a
stunt pilot. Okay, I'm going alrighty, alrighty already let's start
with Elizabeth B's question. Have you ever had a guest
stump you with a part question? Yes, I'm assuming like
(12:34):
in the park in the park.
Speaker 4 (12:36):
Yeah, I think sometimes there's there's questions that come up
that I'm like, let me.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
There's never a question that.
Speaker 4 (12:42):
Comes up that I can't figure out the yeah, yeah
with by calling someone, but there's definitely on the fly.
I definitely have gotten asked like where do you buy
like the the Bavarian pretzels, And I'm like ooh, at
the top of my head, I'm not sure. Yeah, so
we then we The other one that stumps me, depending
(13:04):
on where we're at in the park, is where can
you get like put cash on a cash bank? Okay,
I mean I know, like the front coffee house and
the infocenter, But other than that, once you get further
than that.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
I'm like, ooh, it gets a little little dicey.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
Yeah, that's a good one. I remember I told when
it first started, somebody asked me where the pavilions were
and so far it only had a tour of like
Boulder Beach side and it was the new pavilion and
Emerald Forest. And so I sent this poor group all
the way to Boulder Beach to go find their pavilion.
And I was not correct. So to that guest that
(13:36):
probably still remembers that and is angry with me to
this day, I thoroughly apologize. But it happens to me
all the time. But I am getting better at it. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:44):
Yeah, well, I think you answering these questions help With
these questions. For some time, I've definitely been stumbled and
like I need to look this up.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
Yeah, yeah, definitely, I could probably.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
Get by, but man, it's it's not completely accurate some
of them.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
We can't just talk our way through by any means. Yes, Elizabeth,
we're learning right along with you. So we do appreciate
you guys writing and with these questions. And you know what,
I never did say how they can ask us. Yeah,
I should tell you guys. I should tell you know
if if we don't answer your question today, and make
sure that you either email us at podcasts at silverwidthen
Park dot com or head to our website at silverwidthenepark
(14:17):
dot com, slash podcast. You can sign up as a
loyal listener. Maybe we'll call you and you have a
space there to answer or ask, not answer a question.
So I'll answer.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
You ask, You'll answer them all.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
No, okay, No, Jordan's gonna answer.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
This is answered all of these.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
Yes, Okay. Christas wants to know what's the story behind
the ducks and the Lazy River. I'm assuming she means
the duck the duck, Yeah, the duck race, right, so
I would assume so too.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:47):
So that's done every year by the Core Group, which
is benefiting their locker program okay, in the Quota Aline area.
And so what they do is they basically provide these
lockers that is of supplies and stuff for teachers that
need supplies for their classrooms. And so I don't know
how long we've been doing this, but we've been doing
(15:08):
it since I've been here, so at least over fourteen years.
Speaker 1 (15:11):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
So I don't know when it started, but that's kind
of the gist of it. And it's grown since the
very first time we did it. I mean, it's there's
a lot of ducks that are going around that thing,
and they aren't real ducks, are they are rubber ducks.
Speaker 1 (15:24):
Rubber duckies, Yes, lots of rubber duckies. And I find
rubber duckies everywhere up in marketing. So I mean there's
bins of rubber duckies in the back. I don't know
why we have rubbers. I don't know why we have
rubber duckies either, but I'm assuming they were previous rubber
duckies before they expanded how to.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
Make spa and then they did their thing.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
Yeah. So, and basically people purchase a duck, right or
a number.
Speaker 4 (15:44):
They purchased a number, and then numbers associate with a
duck and then the first I think ten that come
through the finish line get a prize, and then very
last one gets a prize as well.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
Oh, I want to be the last rubber ducky. You
get a better prize if you're the first one. But
I'd rather be last. Okay, no, actually I'd rather be
f yeah better, Okay, don't listen to me. But Krista,
that's a great question, definitely what I haven't seen come
across before. So Caitlyn, she wants to know how many
younger kid rides there are because she has an autistic
(16:14):
five year old.
Speaker 4 (16:15):
Yeah, so we have it's all based off heights. Yeah,
So depending on the child's height is kind of how
I'm going to answer this. If your child is basically
under thirty six inches, there are twenty rides that they
can ride with an adult presence, so pretty significant in
(16:37):
my opinion. Yeah, twenty rides that you can ride if
you have are below our minimum height department. Yeah, but
then once you get to thirty six, you can go
on some of the kiddy rides by yourself. I've actually
looked up the height of an average five year old
and it's forty three inches, So okay, we're going to
pretend that your child is forty three inches. Once you
(16:59):
get above forty you can start writing some of the
bigger rides like timber Tare and Tremors with an adult.
And so there are actually thirty four rides that they
can ride at that height of forty three inches, So
depending on how big of a daredevil, and that doesn't
include like I'm including Salmon Run as one ride, which
is actually has eight slides. Yeah, so there are more
(17:19):
that more individual slides within all these rides as as well,
But yeah, lot.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
For a five year old is going to lose their
attention span or at least need an app at some point.
So I mean that's probably two days worth, honestly, probably.
Speaker 4 (17:32):
I mean I remember when my daughter was four, that's
when she rode timber Taire and tremors for the first time.
So yeah, because she had just hit that forty two
inch mark.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
So exciting, and I've been seeing a lot of that,
especially this year now that we've had our upgrade on tremors.
There's been a lot of first time riders that are
just so excited. I mean to get the picture and
all that, and just seeing these kiddos in line like
they're ready to go, and then seeing them get off
tremors and being like, let's do it again. Yeah, let's
do it again. So I recommend that one if if
the kiddoe's tall enough for it, so probably would enjoy
(18:03):
it a lot. That's a great question, Caitlin. So hopefully
you come visit us and take part in all of
the fun rides that we have to offer. Joshua, he
wants to know where is the underwear being sold. I
need this as a gift for my brother Joshua saw
the commercial.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
He saw the commercial. I'm wondering why his brother needs
the end.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
There's a question that we answer. So Joshua, if you
want to write it in and let us know why
your brother needs the underway.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
Yes, but that was that was a commercial concept that
we created, Yeah, based off of back when Tremoor's first open,
there was underwear sold in the gift shop as kind
of like a gag.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Gift, and the commercial also said yeah, yeah, So our
first commercial for Tremer's actually said fresh underwear sold in
the gift shop.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
Yeah, and so we kind of played off that this
year with our commercial that we're running right now.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
Yeah. But if we get more questions like this, maybe
we can convince retail to get those underwear underwear, Undi Rare.
I was gonna say Andy Ruse Rus and then I
realized that's embarrassing trying to say underwear.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
But you just said that on the podcast.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
We're gonna get some fresh Nie Ruths in the Tremorer's
gift shop. Okay, cool. So Lynn, if you're listening, maybe
perhaps she doesn't want to. I know she does that,
but you know this is why write in. So if
you guys want to see underwear in the gift shop.
Let us know. Okay, next question, we'll send him her way.
What do we got here? Five? Number five? Jamie V.
(19:37):
Is it true that the park is haunted?
Speaker 2 (19:39):
Go ahead, Sarah, Sarah.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
There's conflicting stories with this, but I personally, yes, very
very much believe that the park is haunted. And you've
got to figure this park has some history prior to
being a theme park. It was Henley Aerodrome, and there's
just so many things that have happened here and so
many happy memories, like if I was a ghost, totally
come back here. This is where I want to hang out, right,
(20:03):
It's our own little version of heaven. But Lindy's definitely
has a ghost, and I don't know who that person is,
but she likes to definitely during Scarywood and whatnot at night,
turn on the printer do things like that, knock things over,
turn on the printer and yeah, way, I was sitting
at my desk one night at Scary Wood and nobody
else was upstairs, I mean group sales. They were out
(20:25):
in the parking lot. I was upstairs by myself.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
Did it print something?
Speaker 1 (20:28):
And the printer no, it just started turning on making
all these weird noises, you know.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
You know there was a motion sensor on them.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
There's no one on that side, but.
Speaker 4 (20:36):
If it senses any sort of light, there was no light.
It was I'm just saying, I'm just saying nothing. I
don't believe in it, but I'm just saying.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
Lindy's also used to mess with our podcast when we
were shooting our podcast in Lindy's. So that's the thing.
But here's the other one. Over at the Victorian.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
I've heard of the Victorian.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
Yes, I did see an old woman in the Victorian.
And there was no one in the Victorian, but there
was an old woman in the Victorian in the window.
Interesting because I've heard it's a little girl. Okay, so
maybe it's her and her grandma.
Speaker 4 (21:05):
I've also heard there was a man down by aftershock.
Oh really, yes, that actually like smokes a cigar. Really yeah,
so I've heard that. But so there, and that was
during Scarywood too.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
I'm like, that could be anybody.
Speaker 4 (21:20):
But I'm a little bit of a scaptic Yeah, I'm
not a lot of bit of a I'm very very
vulnerable and not vulnerable.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
What's the word I am gullible. Gullible, I'm gullible. So
but my answer to that is, yes, it is true
that the park is haunted. Come during Scary Wood. We'll
prove that to you in more ways than one. Yeah, So, okay, Jamie,
great question, Tyson, he wants to know. Okay, Jordan, this
is definitely for you. Do you actually know where all
(21:49):
the scare actors are hiding at Scary Wood? And can
you tell me one secret spot to avoid? So Tyson
doesn't want to make a full of himself in front
of all his buckets things, So sorry, Tyson if that's
not true.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
But I'm gonna put this cave out of there.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (22:06):
I know where all of them should be.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
There's definitely people that like, oh, this looks like a
good spot. I'm like, why you in this spot? That's
the wrong spot. So I know where they should be. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (22:19):
As far as like where to avoid, well, they're everywhere.
So that's and it's a hard thing to to avoid anything.
I think each spot has its own like unique sense
and flair of a good spot, so it's hard to
avoid everything. You definitely can't avoid clown Town if you
(22:40):
want to come to So if you're afraid of clowns,
close your eyes and go.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
Yeah, actually, don't close your eyes because if I see
you close your eyes and I'm coming for the.
Speaker 4 (22:48):
More you look scared, the more you're gonna get jump scared.
So I would say the one spot that you should
go to is the corner by the log flume, because
that's a pretty.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
That's that's a good one. That's a good one. Maybe
until Jordan's there, we will see. Yeah, And I will
say it's an insider tip to Jordan said, don't look scared,
but also don't look tough, because I used to love
the guys that would come past me and do them,
you know, kind of a lunge their face at me.
(23:21):
They were the easiest ones because they're looking so tough
they don't think that anything's going to happen, and then
they're the ones running so fast to get out of there.
So yeah, just play cool, play cool, but also like
let your guard down.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
That's what's about. Have fun. Let your guard down.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
And maybe we'll take a great picture of your screaming
at the puppy or lungs and you could win.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Tickets to.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
The Old Dam. Yeah, so that is a great question. Tyson.
But I think my favorite question is this one, Jessica.
Are if Silverwood were a dating app, which ride would
be the red flag and which one would be the
green flag? Okay, I'm gonna let you go.
Speaker 4 (24:01):
First, oh Man, red flag. So in my opinion, I
think after Shock would definitely be a red flag.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
Yeah, very unpredictable.
Speaker 4 (24:13):
Well, especially because like you're up, you're you're going upside down,
you're all over the place, and once you think you
know it, you do it backwards and it's like completely different,
So there's it's almost two faced side of it.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
I think that would be a very big red flag.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
And you never know when he's going to show up,
because if it's a little bit windy, a little bit cold,
he's going to cancel the date altogether.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
And after shock's a heat Okay they might.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
We did a commercial, yes, and it's a heat. Tremor's said. No,
Corkscrew said that after Shock was a heat. Okay he did.
Corkscrew knows better than we do.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
Sounds good. Would you have a different red flag?
Speaker 1 (24:56):
No, after Shock was my red flag one hundred percent,
especially after last week.
Speaker 4 (25:00):
After it, well, I think panic Plunge should be a
red flag. That's true because you know, everything's going good,
beautiful views, the whole thing, and then all of a
sudden the bottom drops out and you're like, what just happened?
Speaker 2 (25:09):
I'm at the bottom. I'm in I'm at the ground floor.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
Yeah, that's true. That is so true. Okay, Yeah, both
of them, they're very similar. Yeah. Yeah, And that's why
I'm probably not going to write after Chalk again because
I don't like panic clones. Green green flag, green flag,
green flags. Okay, green flag. You can go first on
this one green flag. You know, I personally I love
spin Cycle as my personal green as a green flag,
(25:33):
I know, yes for okay, because it's very gentle for me,
it's very calming. There's great views. You can see so
far ahead into your future. You know, it's a little
bit crazy because it takes you upside down. But you
don't want to be boring, you know, you don't just
want to just be chugging along like a Youtuo train.
You need a little bit of thrill. So I would
(25:55):
say spin Cycle very much is my green flag.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
Okay, let us know podcast at silverworthybar dot com if
you agree with that, because it's.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
Like a half and half I know, people either hate it, yes,
or love it. Okay. It's my daughter's favorite ride right now. Okay,
when it's up Jordan.
Speaker 4 (26:13):
So my green flag would probably be the Ferris Wheel
because it's like nostalgic.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
You still get the heights.
Speaker 1 (26:21):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
It's a balanced ride, so you have to be able
to balance it.
Speaker 4 (26:24):
Until this person has is balanced with their with their emotions,
they're in touch with their their nostalgia and you know
they're okay with being just this the ride that has
the views, that has everything except for like the crazy flips.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
They're just okay with it.
Speaker 1 (26:43):
Yeah, all right, Laura B you're next. We're moving on
which silver would ride? Oh? Another good one. Okay, let's
see if I can get this out without laughing. Okay.
Number eight, which silver would ride? Is most likely to
rearrange your organs? Asking as a nerd? Okay, Laura, sorry,
(27:03):
Laura wants to know would rearrange her organs? Rearranged?
Speaker 2 (27:09):
Wow? After shock?
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Yeah? Probably right, the very similar thing. The first thing
I said when I got off after Shock last week.
I remember that my brain was pounding against my skull. Okay,
so that's an organ right, yeah, and it was it
was just all over.
Speaker 4 (27:24):
I mean I would say spin cycles up there, yeah,
but just because you're going upside down, but it's slow,
but you're going upside down.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
They're not rearranging, but you're going upside down. Maybe then
corkscrew corkscrew.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
Yeah, that was that One's gonna go shake your brain
a little bit.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
Organ rearranging and I plunge, yes, because you drop so
hard that all your organs like go up into your.
Speaker 4 (27:48):
Chest and then tremor is. It's fast, very fast, but
it's not shaky.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
No, nobody arranging. I don't think re arranging.
Speaker 4 (27:54):
Maybe just like yeah, you just you just they're just
there and they're stuck in the right things.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
But what about eagle hunt. It can arrange. We could
do some, especially with all the water that comes over
your head, yeah, and into your face and you're going
up and then you're going down and you don't know
what to expect. Scrambler, Yeah, tilt to whirl tho, all those.
Speaker 2 (28:13):
Ones, all the twisty urrambler.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
I mean it's called scrambler. It's going to rearrange your organs.
So there's your answer, Laura, thank you for that question.
Ne'st question and as a nurse just be safe out here.
Caitlin Ka, what is the average weight time right now
on tremors due to the upgrades. That's a great question.
Speaker 4 (28:31):
That is a great question because it's animal, it's it's yeah,
I haven't seen it on like what it looks like
on a really busy day. So but prior to that,
I mean, if you're familiar with the line, I don't
know if we have actually had to cue the line.
Speaker 1 (28:45):
I don't think we have, not that I've heard of anyone.
Speaker 2 (28:48):
I haven't heard it either.
Speaker 4 (28:48):
Oh yeah, I mean I would say you're looking at
maybe twenty minutes. Maybe that's kind of that's kind of
my feeling on when I walk past it.
Speaker 2 (28:55):
It's probably less.
Speaker 4 (28:57):
There's a lot of times I'm seeing that thing come
out and go down on the drop and there's lots
of empty seats on it, so which tells me there's
not really a line going on.
Speaker 1 (29:04):
No, and not because it's not great, but because with
the throughput is just yeah, exactly now and going so fast,
so fast. So there's your answer, come ride tremors run over.
And that's what I keep hearing too. A lot of
people that have written it like you get on it. Oh,
this is your first time and they're like, no, this
is my eleventh time today, right, They're definitely just riding
(29:26):
over and over again. So if you love tremors, just
keep it going. No reason not too so, I think
that would be a success in those upgrades. So thanks, Caitlin,
Alana or Alana, I'm sorry if I mispronounce your name.
When is the best time for the locals to hit Silverwood?
And we've kind of touched on this before, but what
do you think, Jordan? Afternoons a certain day.
Speaker 4 (29:47):
Best time for locals to hit Silverwood? I would say
Sunday's all day Sunday. Yeah, And then as as a
were talking about like time on the clock, I would
say best time, but the year would be June, and
then like the last week of August would be great. Yeah,
(30:08):
first couple weekend weeks in July are good. Wednesday or Sundays. Wednesday, Tuesday,
Sunday would be the three days that I.
Speaker 1 (30:16):
Would say, okay, okay, or after four o'clock, after four
o'clock on most days, yeah yeah, maybe not a weekend.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
Well to find weekend, I would say Saturday, yeah, but yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:28):
Other days yeah, I would say for sure, she.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
Can come after work and just enjoy it for a
little fraction of the price. So yeah, great question for
oh Lana Danica. She wants to know were there any
new shows planned for twenty twenty five, And I thought
we could use this as an opportunity to talk about
next week's guests. Yeah, and what we have. So we
do have a new show, Paradi Effects. Paradi Effects is
(30:51):
going to start on the fifth, correct August fifth, okay,
August fifth, and so we're pretty excited about that. We've
got David Divine and his wife Jamie and his daughter Capri,
and they put on quite the show and they've got
some incredible birds.
Speaker 4 (31:07):
Yeah, and they're not only just doing parad Effects, they're
also doing our magic show right now. Confusing, Yes, and
it is an incredible magic show.
Speaker 2 (31:15):
So definitely go see that. The reviews are awesome.
Speaker 4 (31:19):
Parad Effects is actually a show that they put on
back in twenty twelve at the park, Okay, so they're
kind of reprising it, yeah for the Tuesday Wednesday crowd
and then that's when it will be. But yeah, we
are going to have them on the podcast next week
to talk about where they what I've been doing since
twenty twelve, and how the show has progressed and what
they're doing now, and.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
Especially I can't wait to talk to Capri. Is Capri
got to be here? I think it's just just them. Oh,
I can't talk wait to talk to them about Capri then,
because she was probably a baby back then. She was
a baby. Was she even born?
Speaker 2 (31:47):
She wasn't born.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
Wasn't even born?
Speaker 2 (31:49):
Ye know, I asked.
Speaker 4 (31:50):
I asked her the other day. I was like, so,
how long have you been doing the magic show? She's
like since I was eighteen months.
Speaker 2 (31:55):
Wow. I was thinking she'd be like a couple of years. Yeah,
eighteen months.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
And you can tell because she she's go pro. So
we're really looking forward to that. So make sure to
come out to the Theater of Illusion, check out Confusium
and Parrot Fax. Thanks Stanica for that. How about Noah B.
What are they building behind the wave pools? I saw
construction from the top of Eagle Hunt.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
Nothing.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
There's just a big gravel pit.
Speaker 4 (32:21):
Yeah, there's a gravel pit back there. That's kind of
where we pull from. And there's also you know somewhere
dirt piles and all that kind of stuff. It's just
it's just where we re arrange all of our dirty Yeah.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
We are building at San Castle.
Speaker 4 (32:32):
Yeah, there's there's no buildings happening back there. I know
they are working on a project for like irrigation of
the I guess the forest in that area, but nothing
as far as being planned for future expansion.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
If you see building happening right now, it's gonna be
probably in terms of scary wood yeah yeah. And it's
gonna be on the other side of the other side, yesh. Yeah.
So if you're you're seeing us, seeing us building things,
no big announcements to make right now, but we will
have scary what announcements to make real soon. So thanks
Noah Scott. How many people does it take to keep
the ground so clean and the gardens looking so amazing?
(33:09):
Do you know that number?
Speaker 4 (33:10):
Off?
Speaker 2 (33:10):
How many people?
Speaker 4 (33:11):
I don't know that number off the top of my head,
But we have a vast like landscape team that there's
a handful of them that are full time year round
that are there growing plants in our greenhouses. We have
quite a few, at least I think three big greenhouses,
and then we have some smaller greenhouses as well, because
(33:34):
it is an important thing to keep the park looking
really good and the plants and all that. On the
other side about being clean, that'd be our custodial department,
which we have a lot of.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
People in that department that are out.
Speaker 4 (33:48):
Sweeping, power washing every morning, making sure that the park
is looking good for the next day's guests.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
Yeah, and it was. It was fun being out here
early yesterday morning and really getting to see how much
action is going on. Yeah, there's a lot here, you know,
So that was really really neat. So there are a
ton of hands, a ton of people helping out do
that and always looking to hire some more. Thank you
Scott for that. Clarissa, what is your favorite part of
running a Silverwood podcast. I've never heard of amusement parks
(34:15):
being so close with their customers. Sweet thanks Clarissa. What's
your favorite part, Jordan?
Speaker 4 (34:22):
My favorite part of this is just talking to people.
I really enjoy when we call the listeners and they
tell us their experience. But it's still a learning curve
for us and just what is it that people want
to hear? And I think for us, we want to
like dial this in so that people enjoy listening to
(34:42):
it because we could talk forever and have fun with it.
But if no one's listening, what's the point. So I
really enjoy giving out the tips, making someone's day better
because they listen.
Speaker 1 (34:52):
Yeah, I love that too, And I would have to
say the engagement for sure. I love being able to
call that loyal listener and get to know some of
the people in the park.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
Playing games too. But we haven't done that a little bit.
Speaker 1 (35:02):
Games for a while. Maybe so much going on, I know,
it's been a busy summer. We'll get back to some
of the fun stuff when we kind of go off season,
for sure. But and it's been a learning experience for me,
you know, just rounding out my first year. I've learned
the majority of the things that I know for my
position right here in the podcast into Jordan's. So it's
been a great training opportunity. So that's our favorite part. Caitlin,
(35:24):
And thank you so much for Caitlin Clorisa. I'm sorry,
thank you so much for listening. Tyler. If you could
take any other theme park ride from any park in
the world and place it into Silverwood, which would it
be and.
Speaker 2 (35:36):
Why any other theme park ride?
Speaker 1 (35:38):
Yeah? Oh, Jordan knows, he's ready.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
Yeah, I mean I would. I'm a thrilled junkie.
Speaker 4 (35:45):
So for me, I haven't ridden a lot of the
rides up people might say, but I would say for me,
Iron Guasi would be up there at Bush Gardens Tampa
Bay because that is my favorite roller coaster in the
whole world.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
Yeah, so anything like that, I really would.
Speaker 4 (36:02):
I also would like a dark ride, which one of
the best dark rides that I've written is.
Speaker 2 (36:10):
Epcot. It is the Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic rewind.
Speaker 1 (36:15):
I was gonna say Guardians of the Galaxy of Disneyland.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
So because I have the whole tower, those are all
great too.
Speaker 1 (36:21):
So yeah, what I would get for Guardians of the
Galaxy that yeah.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
That ride, But I would say different theme because obviously, well.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
Yeah I want the Guardians. We want like we wants. Yeah,
no so much.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
Amanda, my ear said.
Speaker 1 (36:39):
He doesn't exactly, so I had to repeat it. I
can't even say it again. No, probably not, probably not,
but something fun to dynamite Dan's ride. Sure, sure, Okay, anyway,
so great question there, Tyler. We're gonna move to Haley,
who wants to know what's your favorite water park shoe
and is there one that you're able to use inside
(37:01):
the water Jordan go for it.
Speaker 4 (37:03):
My favorite water park shoe. Oh I'm not a water
park shoe person. Hm, but I know like the aqua
sos and kind of those type of things. What you
can't ride those on is any ride that has like
the body slides, so like the speed slides Ripped Head Racer.
You can wear them into the water, that's fine, it's
just some of these slides where the friction of the
(37:25):
shoe might cause injury exactly.
Speaker 1 (37:27):
We don't want that. Are do we sell aqua shoes
or anything?
Speaker 2 (37:30):
Yeah? I think we do.
Speaker 1 (37:31):
So those are our favorites. Are the gift shop, the
ones in the gift shop. Yep, there's your answer. Okay, Brett, Kay,
who's the Silverwood mascot and what's the story? Go for it?
Speaker 2 (37:41):
Jordan, Yeah, I just.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
Want to clarify this because I still get this question
all the time.
Speaker 4 (37:48):
So the Silverwood mascot at this very moment is probably Sasquatch. Yeah,
I mean really because he's on the train and we
kind of feature him in the in the train ride.
It's all the story we are working on our own
that we're hoping to unveil at the latest next season.
Speaker 1 (38:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (38:09):
And so if you go to critic camp. And you
see the sign that says critic camp. All those are
self made in house, and so try to work on
some things that might display those inside the park align.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
With that a lotle bit. So that's your little secret.
That's that's all you get. You get a little crumb.
But yes, Garfield retired, So because I know that's what
he was looking for. Garfield has retired. He needed a
lot of cat naps that we could not provide exactly.
And Odie was getting a little great gray. So Dana,
(38:41):
she wants to know our school doesn't do the read
for a Ticket program, which read to ride. How can
I get involved with a program if our school doesn't
do it? And so Dana, we actually, like we talked
about earlier on in the episode, those applications are open. Now.
You just need to talk to someone who is employed
with the school district and have them signed up to
be the school coordinator and they will go fill out
(39:03):
that application at sw reread the number two ride dot
com and we will be choosing schools from our lottery
and letting them know in December. So there is your answer.
Just make sure that it is someone that is part
of that school district. Yeah, anything else to add their
Jordan No, no, no, nothing, Okay, Brandy m which ride
(39:23):
is the longest length in time? The train ride? The train.
Speaker 4 (39:27):
The train ride is the longest because it's like depending
on I mean just even the one without the show
is twenty five minutes. Yeah, so uh, we can't compete
with that anywhere. But I mean, well, well, what I'm
going to say, actually, I'm gonna I'm gonna counter that
because I think the longest ride is the.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
Lazy River, oh okay, or the Way.
Speaker 2 (39:48):
Because you could be in it forever all day.
Speaker 1 (39:49):
I mean we talked about about that, Yeah, for how
many hours?
Speaker 2 (39:53):
Time hours?
Speaker 1 (39:54):
It was a lot. Yeah, yeah, so until you turn
into a perune basically, right.
Speaker 4 (39:59):
So that's probably But as far as I mean, I'm
guessing what they're like actual ride time get off type
ride would probably be a thunder Canyon would be up there.
Trying to think of any of the other spinning rides
that might be longer.
Speaker 1 (40:12):
I mean, I feel like spin cycle goes for a long.
Speaker 4 (40:14):
Spin Cycle does go for a long time because it
takes so long to like get down, low down and
get going.
Speaker 1 (40:19):
So I think that's why I like that one too,
because I can kind of get comfy.
Speaker 4 (40:23):
Yeah, I think that that's probably close to but thunder
canyons up there.
Speaker 2 (40:29):
I'm thinking antique cars.
Speaker 4 (40:30):
Oh yeah, is a slower one, but I think thunder
Cannons probably beat that one out too.
Speaker 2 (40:35):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (40:36):
We should time them. We should We should time them
and get back to this.
Speaker 1 (40:39):
Yeah, make note of that that.
Speaker 4 (40:42):
We're going to all the rides to get back to
Brandy because that answer wasn't no.
Speaker 1 (40:48):
No, We're not proud of ourselves for that. I mean
the trade is correct, but correct, but I think she
was looking for something a little more wild. Okay, we're
at question number twenty. Last question is our last question,
and Bobby K wants to know who's the current magician.
He looks so familiar and so we've kind of already
answered that that would be David da Vinci, who was
here in twenty twelve.
Speaker 2 (41:09):
Yes, that's probably why it was so familiar.
Speaker 1 (41:10):
Yeah, that is twelve exactly, And I do know that
he's been all over nationwide. He does like cruises. In fact,
he's in Niagara Falls this week doing shows, so he
does travel.
Speaker 2 (41:22):
He was in Ringling Brothers, Burn and Bailey.
Speaker 1 (41:25):
So, and he's from standpoint, right, He's from standpoint so
he does a lot of local things as well. So
I think you may have seen him at any local
shin dig.
Speaker 2 (41:33):
Yeah, and we'll learn more about him. Yeah next week
his family.
Speaker 1 (41:37):
Which is a great spin off to wrap things up,
So make sure you're listening to next week's episode. We're
going to have a full on episode with David da
Vinci and his wife Jamie and uh in between. Then
anything else you'd like to add? Do you want to
do an insider tip? Because that was well, there's a
lot of insider tips. Do you have any more?
Speaker 2 (41:55):
Did you have any more? Let's go inside scoop.
Speaker 1 (42:00):
In side scoop. Yes, okay, go ahead, I just learned
this yesterday. Great, when we have the news here, be
prepared to walk up eighty five steps on Eagle Hunt.
We counted, yes, eighty five steps. I had no idea, just.
Speaker 4 (42:13):
Fet on the whiteboard that you guys were toting around,
So they were you just counting as you walked up?
Speaker 2 (42:17):
Is that what happened?
Speaker 1 (42:18):
Yes, because he decided he wanted to bring so we
had Noah from KHQ here and he wanted to bring
this whiteboard and be like a professor for the day,
and he wanted to carry it all through the park
and I said, you can do that. I'm not going
to I'm not carrying the whiteboard. You go ahead. And
so what he didn't realize is that he was going
to have to walk up eighty five stairs at Eagle
(42:39):
Hunt with this white as him. And so, yeah, there's
eighty five stairs. It's not really a tip, it's more
of a fun fact.
Speaker 2 (42:47):
Yeah, that's great, Yeah, I have i have a fun fact.
Speaker 4 (42:49):
Okay, okay, So I've actually seen in the news, so
it's kind of relevant about some ride down in California
that got quote unquote stuck with the riders in it.
And so what I want to lay out is that
doesn't mean it's unsafe.
Speaker 1 (43:05):
Yes, yes, yes, that's actually.
Speaker 4 (43:07):
Means it's safe exactly because the ride is smart enough
to know that something, hey, something's amiss. I'm going to
actually stop this ride safely and allow the maintenance team
to come and.
Speaker 2 (43:16):
Evacuate the people with the right.
Speaker 4 (43:18):
So we've had it at the park where I mean,
you know, a ride gets stuck on the left hill
quote unquote stuck. It's not that it's stuck it's that
there was a censor that failed, and because the ride
is smart, it says, oh, I don't know if something
is here or not, and so I'm just going to
stop it to make sure everything's safe. Yes, So if
you see all this stuff, the fun fact, especially in
(43:40):
the height of summer, if the news stories do come
out about riders get stuck.
Speaker 1 (43:45):
On this, it seems to be this time of the year.
Speaker 4 (43:47):
It is this time of the year every year, and
so I just want to kind of clarify that that
means that the ride is actually functioning properly. Yes, you
