The Simple Walk – 50 Days of Light
Day 38 – Be Still and Know

📖 Psalm 46:10 (KJV)
“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”

🕊️ Devotional Highlight:

The stillness God calls you to is not weakness—
it’s warfare without panic.

When you stop striving, you give God room to move.
When you quiet your heart, you hear His voice more clearly.
When you trust in His timing, peace becomes your posture.

Be still… and know.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
This is the simple walk fifty days of life, days
thirty eight. Be still and know Psalm forty six and ten.
Be still and know that I am God. I will

(00:52):
be exalted among the headans. I will be exalted in
the earth. The call to holy stillness, the words be
still are not a gentle suggestion. They are a divine command.

(01:13):
In the Hebrew be still raphi means to cease striving,
to let go, to loosen your grip, to drop the
frantic activity, and allow God to take the weight you've
been trying to carry. This is not laziness. This is

(01:38):
holy surrender. And surrender is not defeat. It is a
spiritual strategy. When God says be still and know that
I am God, he is inviting you into a posture
of peace. That becomes a weapon. And in warfare, stillness

(02:04):
is warfare. Stillness feels unnatural when you're under attack. Our
instinct is to do something, make the call, fire back
the email, explain ourselves, fix the problem. But Exodus fourteen

(02:25):
and fourteen says the Lord shall fight for you, and
you shall hold your peace. Holding your peace is not weakness.
It's standing in the authority of knowing that the outcome
doesn't depend on your hustle, but on his hand. When

(02:49):
Israel stood trapped between Pharaoh's army and the Red Sea,
God didn't say run faster, He said, stands stal and
see the salvations of the Lord. That's Exodus fourteen and thirteen.
Sometimes the most dangerous thing to the enemy is a

(03:11):
believer who refuses to panic. Stillness requires trust. Isaiah twenty
six and three tells us now with keep him in
perfect peace. Whose mind is stayed on thee because he
trust is in thee. The reason many cannot be still

(03:34):
because they do not trust that God is actively working
when they cannot see him moving. Stillness is a trust test.
Do you believe God is working behind the scenes. Do
you believe his timing is perfect? Do you believe he

(03:56):
sees what you cannot? You cannot know that he is
God without trusting that he is God. Stillness is not
wasted time. When God calls you to be still, he's
not telling you to be idle. He's resetting your postures.

(04:19):
In the still place, perspective is restored. That's found in
Psalms seventy three sixteen through seventeen. In the still place,
spiritual hearing is sharpened First Kings nineteen and twelve. In
the still place, strength is renewed Isaiah forty and thirty one.

(04:45):
Stillness is where the noise dies and clarity rises. It
is where you hear the whisper, that silence is the storm.
Be still and no, the knowing know as God doesn't
say be still in hope or be still in wander.

(05:09):
He says, be still in no This knowing is unshakable
confidence in his sovereignty. It's not based on how the
situation looks. It's rooted in his unchanging nature. When you
are still long enough, you begin to remember. He parted

(05:33):
seas before he can do it again. He shut the
mouths of lions. He can shut the mouth of your accusing.
He raised the dead, He can revive what looks hopeless.
My priority to day is, Father, forgive me for the

(05:53):
times I run ahead of you in fear. Teach me
the holy discipline of stillness. Quiet my racing thoughts, silence
the inner wars. Help me to drop my grip and
lift my gaze. Today I choose to be stilled, not

(06:17):
in defeat, but in faith. I know you are God.
You will be exalted over my circumstances, over my enemy
and over every life. God, I rest in you, I

(06:37):
wait in you, and I worship you in the stillness
in Jesus is Man. Amen. So before you go, you
don't need all the answers today. You need awareness of Him.

(06:57):
Click like. Share this peace with so ever one of
his mind is racing. Subscribe for more days of life.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
