Speaker 1 (00:14):
Stop it, get some help.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
This is the Soapbox Champion podcast. It is the Soapbox
Champion podcast, but it's atypical. It's not going to be normal.
It's not even Tuesday, if that tells you anything. It's Sunday,
September fourteenth, and we'll just go ahead and call this
(00:52):
the Charlie Kirk episode. I guess that means I got
a little splaining it. You're right, why am I doing
things out of order off how I.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Usually do it? Which is a big deal to me
in my brain.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Well, because I felt like doing this episode Wednesday day of,
but that would have been stupid because my mind wasn't
right and I didn't want to get on here and
say things I would regret or I just it wasn't
time to do it. Plus I didn't know anything to report.
(01:31):
All I'd been doing was just reacting. I'm not doing
reaction videos. That's for other people. So now it's Sunday,
so I compromised. I guess you would say I didn't
do it day of, but here I am, and I
don't want to wait till Tuesday. Okay, So I'm just
(01:52):
gonna do it now. That's all right. I'm gonna release
it today Tuesday, as you're hearing. But I actually just
you know, a full disclosure. I recorded Sunday evening. Okay,
this is episode two hundred and three of the Soapbox
Champion podcast, recorded live from FEMA Region five, where we're
(02:12):
somber weird.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
What are we?
Speaker 2 (02:16):
My name Craig Delaney, Charlie Kirk? What do I say
that hasn't been said already in the last few days?
How long do I talk about him? How long do
we talk about what happened?
Speaker 1 (02:30):
I don't know. I literally don't know. I'm stressed about it.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
I'm so glad I didn't record early like I almost did.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
I know I probably would have regretted a lot.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
And I wanted to say regretted a lot that I
would have said, how about that on that day?
Speaker 1 (02:51):
You know.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Who's Charlie Kirk, Conservative activist media figure, founder of The
Turning Point USA, known for speaking, Known for having conversations
on college campuses, debating political issues, and leading tours. What
he was not known for was forcing his opinion on others.
(03:20):
Last Wednesday, be September tenth, at Utah Valley University in
orm Utah, he was on stage for a Turning Point
USA event part of the American Comeback to speaking outdoors
to a student audience. Kirk was shot in the neck
by someone who fired from the roof of a nearby building.
(03:41):
A targeted attack. You would say, you recall it. He
was shot, a targeted attack. He was injured. But what
he should say is he was assassinated. And it took
a long long time before anyone on TV would say
(04:06):
Charlie Kirk was assassinated, and that should be a red
flag to everyone, because what else was it. They didn't
want to say it, but I said it. Said a
day of I said stop saying shot, say assassinated, and
immediately it was just chaos.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
He was taken to the hospital.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
But I believe and if they were truthful, they would
tell you he was dead before he got off the stage.
I can tell the suspect end quotes Tyler Robinson, twenty
two year old confused young man, mentally ill young man.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
If he's even the real suspect.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
He was found and arrested in Utah two days after
the shooting, Nice, facing charge of the aggravated murder and
use of a firearm. Authorities are still quote piecing together
his past.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
And possible influences.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
So far, there's no clear ties to any extremist groups,
at least none of that have been confirmed. Officials haven't
given a single clear motive yet, but we can come
up with one. The fact that it was called a
targeted attack suggests Kirk was chosen intentionally and not random.
(05:25):
Of course, investigators are looking at whether Robinson acted alone,
had political reasons, was hired, or personal grievances. Some reports
say he had a history of anti Kirk statements online,
but nothing officially verified. Many described Kirk as a martyr
(05:51):
for free speech and warned about rising political violence against
right leaning figures. That's what conservatives said, would say. Response
is varied. Most condemned the violence, though some and many
criticized how quickly it became politicized campus safety. The fact
(06:11):
that it happened at a university raises alarms to me.
You know, event and security, how to protect speakers, students
and attendees, And I get it. There's only a reasonable
expectation of security when you're out of college, I think, right,
I don't know, but this event has become part of
(06:32):
a larger conversation, ironically about political violence in the US.
It's being compared to other politically motivated attacks in two
thousand and seven shooting a representative, Steve Scalis and the
attack on Paul Pelosi. I don't know why I chuckle
because I don't like the Pelosis and that was a
(06:53):
silly fucking video. If you remember that, many worry it
shows how heated and dangerous the political climate has become
where disagreements risk crossing into violence. The only risk crossing
into violence if you're willing to cross into violence, and
that person is the problem. Whoever crosses into violence, that's
you know, that's when it becomes dangerous. Don't blame it
(07:15):
on the conversation, Blame it on the person who chooses violence. Okay,
so much to unpackage, so much to sift through, so
much to critique. First, why, all of a sudden, is
it's so damn easy to have a rifle and sneak
on the top of a roof of a building in
broad daylight at these big speaking events, when that becomes
(07:39):
something you could pull off, I bet I couldn't walk
down my county road out here with the rifle without
someone calling the sheriff's department, and the sheriff would pull up,
I promise you now, in this case, there was no
expectation of enhanced security for Kirk outside of what he
brought or hired himself. He was simply speaking on a
(08:01):
college campus. But I wouldn't call it enhance security to
not allow someone with a rifle on top of a
roof overlooking the stage. I don't you know, But in
the age of the children, the children, why isn't there
more outrage about it being on college campus. The very
day that Kirk was assassinated, people took the social media
(08:24):
to cry out because no one was speaking about that
school shooting in Evergreen High School, Colorado. Great Okay, a
sixteen year old student named Desmond Holly. Two students were injured,
then the shooter died by suicide. Of course, that is
the end of the story. He was sixteen years old
student at Evergreen High School in Jefferson County, Colorado. No
(08:48):
students were killed, which is awesome freaking news, right. But
the day of three hours after Kirk was assassinated in
front of a live audience, I had people on my
Facebook going, uh, I get it that Kirk was killed,
but why are we not talking about the schools shooting
(09:08):
and well, because no one was killed. It is a
different circumstance. If two children were killed, we'd be talking
about it. You know, we still talked about it. People
were talking about it. But I'm assuming in the circles
you run and what you pay attention to, people weren't
talking about it. And that's on you. You know, Hey,
if you want to talk about it, fucking talk about it.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
I talked about it. Don't say why.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
Is no one talking about it when people were talking
about it, but someone.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
Was assassinated in front of a live audience. AH.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
Moving on a typical episode here, ladies and gentlemen. Atypical.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
UH.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Authorities say that shooter, the sixty year old Evergreen, been
radicalized by some extremist network.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
Of course UH.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
He posted content referencing Columbine and other past shootings. Normal.
He showed interest in neo Nazi views and supremacist symbols,
anti Semitism, normal, normal for mental ill. He also posted
videos on platforms such as TikTok showing him making or
wearing items resembling those used in past school shootings, for example,
(10:23):
clothing like what some shooters wore, or mimicking the behavior
of previous attackers. The idiot used a revolver and brought
a lot of ammunition and reloaded multiple times during the attack.
He rode the bus to school that morning, and he's
dead now and we're better off. H What's not known
(10:45):
yet or confirmed how he got the gun. It's a revolver,
so he probably stole it, because no one would go
purchase a revolver for the purpose of mass shooting because
you're not going to get very far.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
No one knows how he got it. The exact extremist
network or groups that radicalized him have not been clearly identified,
though authorities are investigating for what then? What was there
a motive?
Speaker 1 (11:12):
You know is victims?
Speaker 2 (11:13):
Were they specifically targeted or the shooting was more opportunistic,
you know, random? Those are all under investigation. So that's
that school shooting there we talked about, what more do
you want? No students were killed, thank god, in the shooting.
The shooter took his own life, of course, and there
were left with it. But a man, a husband, and
a father was assassinated in front of a live audience
(11:34):
on a college campus. And why do you think there
was not a lot said about the ever shooting? What
do you think Uh, do you not think for yourself
for two goddamn seconds before you take.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
To social media and post some stupid shit? Do you not?
Speaker 3 (11:51):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (11:52):
More than one person? I don't know.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
It's just weird, weird justifying what are you down playing Kirk?
Speaker 1 (12:00):
I don't know. I talked about it.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
I told people about it, and they were unaware. It
wasn't ignored. But the fact that people are immediately upset
that the Kirk story was getting more headlines it is
freaking weird, to say the least. You know at base
it's weird, right, Who cares unless you care? But why
would you care? I can only guess you care because
(12:22):
you didn't like Kirk or you disagreed with the things
he said, so therefore it's no big deal that he
was shot in the neck and killed blood out in
front of hundreds of people on a college campus.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
No big deal. Why are we talking about that?
Speaker 2 (12:36):
That's a school shooting right, by the way, that's a
school shooting.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Just not the kind you like.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
There are kids on campus, there are teachers, But that's
no big deal because it was a conservative and a
Christian killed.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Is that? It is that what you're saying?
Speaker 2 (12:50):
Because I can't spin it around in my head in
any other way to justify people saying, why are we
talking about Kirk when there's a school shooting.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
I can't just any other way.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
It just doesn't even make logic sense. It was a
school shooting. I don't know what you want go talk
about it, then talk about it. Everyone was quick to
show their true colors after the Kirk shooting, that's for sure.
Left wing lunatics were celebrating online. Not gonna play a
damn not one of those. I'd play some of that,
but you already heard it, you already saw it. Of course,
(13:24):
those who weren't celebrating it were justifying it because it
was oh, blah blah blah.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Guns. You know, well, if people weren't allowed to have
guns and are okay.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
You know what, There are about four hundred million guns
in Americans hands right now.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
Most of them are to my left.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
Ah.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
If guns were the problem, you'd freaking know it. There
would It wouldn't be an argument, you would know it.
There would be no doubt that guns were the problem.
A little over thirty percent of US citizens own a gun.
Thirty percent of US citizens.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
Own a gun.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
Calm down, your brainwashed into believing that guns are the problem. Okay,
you are you that there are too many guns and
Republican nutjobs have all the guns? Then how come it's
only Republicans getting shot at high how come? How's that
work in your pea brain? How does that work?
Speaker 1 (14:16):
Make it? Do the math? Send it to me? How
come make that make sense?
Speaker 2 (14:21):
In the one instance you do have where it may
have been a right leaning nut job, and that's disputed,
was the Paul Pelosi attack. And it wasn't even a gun,
It was a hammer. Are you introducing legislation to do
background checks on hammer purchases?
Speaker 5 (14:39):
After that?
Speaker 2 (14:40):
Didn't hear a whole lot outrage over knives when that
girl was stabbed to death on the subway and Charlotte
the other day for absolutely no reason. A knife industry
group named Knife Rights Forward slash Akti reported that about
thirty five million, five hundred and ninety five thousand US
high solds own an outdoor or pocket knife. Also, about
(15:05):
twenty four thousand, seven hundred and seventy five No, twenty
four million, seven hundred and seventy five thousand US households
own a hunting knife. If you assume about one hundred
and twenty million households in the US. Those numbers mean
twenty nine to thirty percent of households own an outdoor
pocket knife, twenty to twenty one percent own a hunting knife.
(15:27):
A woman sleeping on a New York subway train was
set on fire, alive and killed in Brooklyn last December.
A man through cocktails molotov cocktails at people and severely
burned twelve of them in broad daylight in Colorado. Back
in June. Just under ten percent of Americans still smoke.
Every one of them owns at least one lighter, except
(15:51):
for my cousin Patrick, who used to be notorious for
taking everyone's lighter. That's thirty three million lighters. Where's the
activist group calling for the band of lighters? That's how
your brain works, So therefore, why where are all these
groups calling for the band of lighters and knives? See
how ridiculous that is. I sounded ridiculous arguing that, see
(16:14):
the stupid games you play, and and you're playing with
yourself by the way, so to speak, you're playing stupid
games with yourself over guns like that, Because it's not
how that shit works. I guess I have to keep
reminding everyone that our founding fathers didn't create the Second
Amendment because guns were cool. The Second Amendment to the
(16:35):
United States Constitution states, quote a well regulated militia being
necessary to the security of a free State, and the
right of people to keep and bear arms shall not
be infringed in quote. Those men created the Second Amendment
to address concerns over individual and collective security, as well
as to balance power between the government and the people.
(17:00):
So forgive me if I get a little concerned when
the government wants to infringe upon your right to bear arms.
And I haven't heard a single mention of mental health
over this guy that shot Kirk, not one, not one.
Too big of a problem in the US, You too
chicken shit to address that. Politicians were Yet both sides
(17:21):
in the middle, Bernie were yet mental health? No big deal?
Or does big pharma line too many pockets? The answers yes,
And all the rhetoric, oh God, the rhetoric for sixteen
years or better. I said this the day of on
(17:41):
social media, and I'll repeat it now. The Left killed
this dad today. The shooter pulled the trigger, but the
Left killed him. They killed him with years of reckless
rhetoric and hate speech. They killed him with subtle hints
of violence and loads of propaganda. They embraced and gather
them mentally ill and push them to do unthinkable things.
(18:05):
Trump is a threat, Kirk was a threat. I'm a threat.
You're a threat. What is the only thing to do
with a threat? Eliminate it? The Democrats and the left
did this. Now it's become too often. Have they made
that normal too? What's at stake? What's so at stake
(18:26):
that they would go so far as to murder? Name
calling and mud slinging is one thing, of course, but this,
this is different. All of a sudden they have become
a threat? Is this the game we play?
Speaker 1 (18:44):
Now?
Speaker 2 (18:45):
Act accordingly? And when I was just about to get
lost in all the takes on the situation and get
lost in my head, social media somehow believe it or
not grounded me. This is a user called wrangler Star.
He calls himself a pro HO or a professional homeowner.
And I followed him for years. I don't know name
(19:09):
your reason. Because he's interesting, because he's knowledgeable, He gives
good advice on everything from garage tools to winter survival,
and he just seems like a good guy. Okay, Wrangler
Star and when I was doom scrolling over Charlie Kirk
day of he popped up at just the right time
(19:32):
and allowed me to take a breath.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
Beloved, if you haven't heard already, Charlie Kirk was just
shot in the neck, I think at a college campus
in Utah. Charlie Kirk has been kind of a spokesman
for the conservative side. He's been visiting campuses and talking
and debating with students back and forth on policies that
are somewhat opposite of what you find on college campuses.
(19:58):
You know, the laft is getting continuing to get more
and more violent. I think that people that are on
the right are conservative people are people that are pretty reasonable,
and we think that most people are like us. Where
we can if we could just lay out our case,
make our points, that we could probably win most people
to our side that we have a lot in common
with I guess just being in Americans. But these continued efforts,
(20:23):
attempts on President Trump's life and now killing him by
shooting him in the neck, you know that the time
for talk is over now. I'm not advocating violence, but
if violence is going to be brought, violence needs to
be stopped by violence. There is no more talking, there
(20:43):
is no more debating with these sort of people. The
way I see it in the future, I don't know
that we could ever come to any sort of agreement.
The way I see it is that we are enemies
and you need to act accordingly. Don't take violence to
the streets. That's not our fat our fights on our battle.
But protect yourself, protect yourself, do whatever you have to
(21:05):
do to protect you and your families. And the lion
in the sand has drawn.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
I don't know. For me, that took me down a notch,
and I was able to focus on what I could
control instead about instead of worrying about what I couldn't control.
What I could control is protecting here, my home, my family. First,
(21:43):
deep breath, and let me tell you all something else
I've been saying. And this is just me. This is
only my opinion. I never cared about Charlie Kirk, I
swear to you.
Speaker 1 (21:59):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
I don't believe I ever heard a complete sentence out
of him. I knew what he was about, I knew
what he did.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
I got stuff to do, you guys, I let him
carry on. You know.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
What shook me the most is the fact that he
was just a man. He wasn't a politician, no matter
how close you say he got to it, he wasn't
a politician, he wasn't an official. He was just a
civilian man, husband and father, and that should shake you
all to your core.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
He was just a man.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
Oh, people are being assassinated because of what they believe.
Now this is different. And you talk about divisiveness. I
noticed there are there have been so far for reactions
to his assassination. The first one is normal, I can't
believe this happened. Shock, sadness, concern, maybe a little worry.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
Too, celebratory.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
Celebratory say that in nine times, people literally celebrating out
loud that he was killed, including TMZ. I saw you,
TMZ live when when it was announced that Kirk had
passed away, and you heard the office in the background
erupt in laughter and cheers, TMZ, I heard you. The
(23:25):
left and Democrats number three scrambling to distance themselves from responsibility.
You've seen that too, and I'll give you some examples
in a little bit and four Democrats flipping and outraged
over it and saying they're no longer support the Democrat party.
And the left, and I saw plenty of that on
social media too. I saw uh left wing and Democrat
(23:48):
creators just lose their mind over over what had happened
and said they could no longer support it. The best
examples of Democrats scrambling to distance. Who do you think,
Nancy Pelosi?
Speaker 3 (24:03):
People don't have any intention of saying something that's going
to lead to something dangerous. But we cannot take responsibility
for the minds that are out there and how they
hear it.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
No, but you can take responsibility for the years and
years of rhetoric. What a weird thing to say and
what a strange time to say it. All that was
was confirming that yes, people are talking about the NonStop
Democrat rhetoric and how it did play a part in
(24:37):
Kirk's assassination and the Democrat Party is aware of it.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
Thank you, Nancy.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
That's all that statement did for me. That's it, nothing more.
Oh you want more out of Nancy?
Speaker 3 (24:47):
Okay, Well, I'm I'm not sure what he has in
mind for Mars Moore. I do not think that some
of the rhetoric that is coming out of the White
House is encouraging. I don't want it to be a
fearful though, for people to be afraid. So we just
have to show our strength. The most important thing in
(25:08):
all this is unity. Is to just say we're all
this together to call because many times our diversity is
our strength, our unity is our power. And when people
are coming to a city to market or whatever they
want to do, to see how people come together is
(25:30):
something that is stronger than any words that we can say.
It's one more question. Because we were having an interview
now with the daughters about your business. Well, first of all, yesterday,
when we first heard of the incident, I put forth
(25:50):
a statement saying this has to stop. And I think
most of our colleagues put out similar statements of why
we may not agree so politically, philosophically or in another way.
That doesn't matter. What does matter is that our prayers
and thoughts are with the family and may he rest
(26:12):
may then later, may he rest in peace. But it
is it will be a big ticket item right then
for us to have a kind of security that is
necessary for so many members. But I do think that
starting from the top, there has to be a more
unifying message coming from our government. I also think that
(26:36):
we have got to put an end to gun violence
in our country.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
There it is just have to.
Speaker 3 (26:43):
Finish the job. We just haven't done that. We've talked
about it, we've worked for it, and the rest. And
for example, on the floor of the House, when they
had the moment of silence for the person who that's.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
Enough, there was a minute left.
Speaker 2 (26:58):
I'm in no mood to listen to that bitch for
another minute and eight seconds.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
I'm just not I'm just not sorry.
Speaker 2 (27:05):
I'm not no longer Speaker of the House, and it's
only a California representative, go figure, but we have to
hear from her constantly. No one asked to hear from her,
no one. I don't even think people on the left
ask to hear from her.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
But she's everywhere.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
You know what, Trump didn't do much better the day
I have either.
Speaker 6 (27:27):
To my great fellow Americans, I am filled with grief
and anger at the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk on
a college campus in Utah. Charlie inspired millions, and tonight
all who knew him and loved him are united in
shock and horror.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
Yes, Charlie, I'm cutting this one short to you. This
has really put me in a mood guys, and I'm sorry,
but you've heard it and you can go hear it.
He talked for about four minutes, but it was a
whole bunch of we'll get him, whole bunch of of course,
the niceties toward Kirk and his surviving family, all that.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
All the stuff that you would, of course say.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
But then there was nothing, nothing making us feel better,
nothing coaxing us to talk to one another, you know
what I mean, Nothing soothing, nothing unifying. It was just
we'll get him. I promise, we'll get him. Okay, Okay,
that doesn't help. That doesn't They didn't do anything for us,
(28:29):
It didn't do anything for the nation, and we're just
as divided the morning after. Congratulations. Uh rhetoric is what
it is. And while we're talking about Pelosi, she she's
the queen.
Speaker 3 (28:47):
And I know I would pay to see I'm waiting
for this, for trespassing on the cat hole down, I'm
gonna go to jail, and I'm gonna be happy. It
is a matter of fact that the president is an
ongoing threat to our national security and the integrity of
our elections, the basis of our democracy. He must go.
(29:07):
He is a clear and present danger to the nation
that we all love. Well, if he came as a
matter of self defense, I would have to beat him
up and I would probably have to go to jail
for beating him up, and that would be okay with me.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
Violence and threats of violence from Nancy Pelosi and you
get nut jobs listening to that for you know, twelve
years or longer. You know what someone's going to act
because mentally ill, but no one's paying attention to that. Okay, whatever, whatever, Nancy.
I'm so tired of Nancy. I can't I almost can't
(29:45):
take it.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
And see so I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
Nope, just sad uh Trump and his speech is five
minute thing, sad dark day. We're going to get him.
What a waste of a moment. He could have made
it something, but he didn't. Okay, enough of those people,
Let's let's talk about the shooter. Twenty two year old
(30:14):
Tyler Robinson from Saint George, Utah. Robinson was arrested on
September twelve following the thirty three hour manhunt. He's currently
held without bail at Utah County Jail and faces charges
including aggravated murder, obstruction of justice, and felony discharge of
a firearm causing serious bodily injury. Robinson allegedly fired a
(30:34):
single shot from a rooftop sniper position, striking Kirk in
the neck.
Speaker 1 (30:39):
This is an official statement.
Speaker 2 (30:40):
By the way, I guess authorities recovered a rifle and
bullet casings engraved with politically charged in gaming related messages
at the scene.
Speaker 1 (30:49):
It just see you know.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
First, it says casings. We only fired one shot, so
there's one casing and then two full rounds. I mean, details, guys.
The devil's in the details.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
It's important.
Speaker 2 (31:04):
It's important to sound like you know what you're talking about.
First casing said quote, hey fascist catch followed by up arrow,
right arrow, and three down arrows. That was on an
unfired cartrige. The text is an explicit and anti fascist haunt.
(31:25):
The arrow sequence refers to a controller input combo in
the video game Hell Divers two that deploys orbital bombs
on enemies.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (31:36):
Second engraving quote notices bulges owo, what's this question? Mark
end quote on the spent casing from the bullet that
struck Kirk. This is a meme originating from online furry
and role playing communities. Here we Go used ironically to
mock or troll exaggerated sexual innu windows. You know, noticing
(31:59):
bulge is in a suggestive context. O wo is emoticon
for wide eyed surprise or cuteness.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
Fine.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
Third on an unfired cartridge was quote Bella Chow end
quote lyrics from an Italian anti fascist folk song Bella
Chow popularized in post war resistance to fascism and later
in media like Netflix series Money Heist.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
Fine.
Speaker 2 (32:30):
Investigators also recovered discord messages from Robinson's discuss discussing plans
did grave the casings, but no additional inscriptions were detailed
publicly Okay. Investigators have not yet determined to clear motive
for the attack. Utah Governor Spencer Cox noted that Robinson
held leftist views and had possibly been radicalized online.
Speaker 1 (32:51):
Here we Go again.
Speaker 2 (32:53):
Robinson had previously enrolled in Utah State University, but dropped
out after one semester, and was later enrolled and electrical
apprenticeship program at Dixie Tech Tech School. Robinson's family, he
are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
day Saints, had not been very active in the church
in the lead up to the shooting. According to statements
(33:15):
from Tyler Robinson's family to investigators, he described Charlie Kirk
as quote full of hate and spreading hate end quote
during a recent dinner conversation where Robinson expressed dislike for
Kirk's viewpoints. Tyler Robinson lived with the transgender partner here
we Go, and some reports suggest he had expressed disdain
(33:38):
for Kirk's views, including his anti LGBT and anti immigrant rhetorica.
Huh what leave it to sky News?
Speaker 5 (33:47):
The killer, the shooters, the alleged shooter was in a relationship.
His lover was a transgender individual transitioning from male to female.
Speaker 1 (33:58):
That's the latest news.
Speaker 5 (34:00):
And this was the same individual that texts were sent
to his so called roommate regarding the rifle and casings
Rita Pannic.
Speaker 7 (34:08):
Yes, Tyler Robinson's partner is cooperating with the FBI. He's
been helpful, is what's been reported. And yeah, he is
trans is just another development. It adds an extra layer
to what could have motivated this guy. But this guy,
(34:29):
if he is the culprit, and authorities are very confident
they have their man. He has told us why he's
done this. There's a lot of conjecture. The left is
bending over backwards, trying to cast some doubt about whether
this was a politically motivated assassination when there is zero
(34:51):
doubt because the killer told us why he didn't. He
hasn't been shy about saying why he did it. And
if we don't accept reality, if we don't fl up
to the truth, we're not going to get past this point.
And worse than trying to cast out about what motivated
this killing, are those dishonest actors. Sometimes they're just dishonest,
(35:12):
Sometimes they're stupid. I really don't care which ones which,
but they lie. They have fabricated pictures of the suspect
in a Trump shirt. They've tried to cast him as
some sort of maga individual or Republican just because his
family happened to be church going, religious conservatives. This guy
(35:34):
is the black sheep of the family. The family have said,
you know, he's been off the left, and I think
it just shows James that just growing up in a
conservative religious family doesn't necessarily immunize you'll protect you for
This isn't a doctrine.
Speaker 2 (35:53):
I'm sorry I hadn't heard that on CNN. His transgender
partner's names Twigs. But immediately after the assassination, the left
tried so hard to paint the suspect as a right.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
Wing nut job.
Speaker 2 (36:10):
And yes, there was even a picture online in which
someone had placed a very realistic looking red MAGA T
shirt on him. It was absolutely fake. The original T
shirt was a worn, almost faded purple shirt. Everything is
blurred when it comes to this guy. Everyone, CBS News
(36:33):
said quote. There was conflicting information about the investigation. Utah
Governor Spencer Cox said at a news conference, we have
a person of interest in custody, while Utah Department of
Public Safety Commissioner Ba Mason said the suspect is still
at large. FBI Director Cash Ptel later said subject in
(36:54):
custody was released after being interrogated. Was false. The surveillance
photo and what I'm assuming is the mugshot don't even
appear to be the same guy. The anyone notice that, Yeah, conspiracy,
(37:17):
the nose is off. There's a picture floating around. Go
get it right now. I'll put it up here if
I remember to do so in a minute. Uh, there's
a picture what appears to be one of the better
surveillance photos of him from the front, and then right
below that is what appears to be his mug shot.
The nose is off. Notice the size and alignment of
(37:40):
the nostrils.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
It's off.
Speaker 2 (37:42):
The ear is different. Notice the ear lobe and the
hair around the ear. The hair is much shorter in
the top photo, and you can see a little hair
behind the lower ere in the mugshot. None in the
surveillance photo. But the big one to me, and why
(38:02):
you will never convince me it's the same person. Is
the mouth not even close? The upper lip is different,
the lower lip is different, just way off. The sides
of the mouth is different. The size of the mouth
is different. It's two different. It's like whoever put them
(38:25):
together needs glasses but never bothered to.
Speaker 1 (38:28):
Get a prescription. I don't know. And they're like, yeah,
this is this looks close enough. It's not close enough.
Go look at I encourage you.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
I just wish we could see the eyebrows in the
top photo and the eyes of course, but of course
he's got sunglasses on, so we can't see the eyes.
But the mouth is so different. I'm having trouble believing
they're just the same person. And you can't convince me.
But it doesn't matter because no matter who did it,
it's a mental health issue. And here's what you have
(38:58):
to grapple with in this case. No one who isn't
mentally ill would do this. And I don't care if
you're left right up down, yellow, purple, Yannie or Laurel.
You would not do this if you were mentally fit.
But you would do this if you were mentally fit,
(39:22):
if it was your job, if it was for higher
if it was state hired bad actor. I don't know
why we're not talking more about that. And the one
hundred and fifty yard shot is something to talk about.
It's not something to be waved off and not a
(39:44):
subject because it is. It's not that big of a deal.
But it's something you can make. One hundred and fifty
yard shot.
Speaker 1 (39:51):
You you, I'm pointing to you.
Speaker 2 (39:54):
You can without me even knowing you, or I just
I can tell you can do it if the condition right.
Speaker 1 (40:01):
But it ain't nothing, you know, it's not nothing.
Speaker 2 (40:05):
Think of the distance and distances like.
Speaker 1 (40:09):
These as football fields. That's what I do.
Speaker 2 (40:12):
A standard NFL football field is one hundred yards from
end zone to end zone. I'm hitting one hundred yards
all day with the rifle. If you ever go to
an NFL game, like in person for the first time,
the first thing you notice is how much bigger the
field looks on TV. It's true if you get a
(40:34):
new rifle after just making sure everything functions at fifty yards,
there's no reason to train any closer than one hundred
yards my opinion, one hundred and fifty yards.
Speaker 1 (40:49):
If you ask me.
Speaker 2 (40:50):
To bet if I can make it, I'm taking that
bet every time. If you are one hundred and fifty
yards out and are approaching me wishing ill will you
may gain a few yards, but you're going to lay
down just inside one hundred and fifty at prompts And
I'm a novice. That's not sniper distance, you guys, like
mainstream media keeps repeating, deer hunters do it all all
(41:14):
day in the worst condition, So that one shot on
Kirk isn't a miracle shot, but it is something. Was
Robinson a hunter? I doubt it, but maybe the rifle
in question is a classic hunting rifle. The rifle they
say they recovered was a Mauser thirty six thirty equals
(41:37):
being the bullets diameter and the point three to zero.
Speaker 1 (41:43):
I'm sorry Uh.
Speaker 2 (41:44):
The thirty is the bullets diameter, which is about zero
point three zero inches in the hot six or zero six.
The euro is adopted nineteen o six by the US Army.
This round is still one of the most common for
game hunting now. Most hunt and side in around two
(42:05):
hundred to four hundred yards with regular ass standard velocity
thirty out six AMMO. Most hunters treat three hundred to
three hundred and fifty yards as a practical limit. Like
after that you question whether you should take the shot
or not. About one hundred and fifty it's something, but
(42:26):
also it's not a sniper, you know what I'm saying. Uh,
But that would be an almost perfect rifle for a
trained assassin. And if you can get a hundred and
you know, within one hundred and fifty yards, why not
when there's zero security and all these rooftops that are
just available all of a sudden, why wouldn't you get
within one hundred and fifty yards? Ah, there were thousands
(42:50):
of people that would have loved to have seen Charlie
Kirk silenced, you know, And since and one of all
these snot nosed kids began in a maneuver like trained
assassins all of a sudden, I wonder that too, Thomas Crooks,
now this guy. They both scoped out the scenario, did
things in advance, were able to get the high ground
(43:11):
without being noticed somehow, and in this case escape in
broad daylight with so many ring cameras and security cameras. Okay,
when did this happen? The only reason Crooks was taken
out was because of counter snipers who apparently weren't very good,
because you know, they were bested by a zip faced
(43:32):
dork like Crooks. And I think we need an explanation
of how the hell Robinson was able to get a
full sized deer rifle on a school backpack like showing
in all the surveillance footage.
Speaker 1 (43:45):
I'm still wedding on that.
Speaker 2 (43:46):
The rifle authorities released a picture of It was a
black synthetic bolt action Mouser thirty odd six rifle. It
appears to be the typical twenty two inch barrel, which
would make that the whole rifle loot over forty one
inches long. That's over three feet. It's not happening. You're
(44:07):
not slipping that in a backpack. Also, it was wrapped
in a towel for some reason. We don't see him
carrying the rifle or a towel, and it's not going
in a.
Speaker 1 (44:16):
Backpack, so what explain that?
Speaker 2 (44:19):
And the official picture shows the rifle looking brand new
in a brand new cardboard box. My head tells me
that's some kind of evidence collection box for firearms or really,
are are they that stupid to just show a new
rifle in a box?
Speaker 1 (44:35):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (44:36):
Do you know what's going on with the box? I'm
asking you seriously, go look for the one picture of
the black synthetic rifle in a brand new box. What
is is that an evidence thing? Tell me leaving a
voicemail eight one two six one zero nine zero zero
five or email info dot soap box Champion at gmail
(44:57):
dot com. There's a lot going on with the story.
I'm not comfortable with any of it right now. I'm
blaming years and years of reckless rhetoric by the left
and mental illness, and now that we've had a few
days to hurt over it and think it all over.
Another thing I noticed was immediately some of the left
are creating these theories on how it was actually a
(45:19):
right wing nut job that did this, and it was
it was the Republican deep state. First for what second,
they were doing it as a justification for the shooting. No,
nothing justifies this or can they not stand the fact
that their side is capable of such things? MSNBC and
(45:42):
political analyst Matthew Dowd the day of.
Speaker 8 (45:47):
I'm going to bring you in on this. Talk to
me about the environment. You know we are there are
reports of exactly what happened are not confirmed yet, But
talk to me about the environment in which the shooting
like this happens.
Speaker 9 (46:03):
Yeah, and again emphasize what you just emphasize. We don't
know any of the full details of this that we
don't know if this was a supporter shooting their gun
off in celebration or so. We have no idea about this.
But following up what was just said, he's been one
of the most divisive, especially divisive younger figures in this
who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate
(46:24):
speech or sort of aimed at certain groups. And I
always go back to hateful thoughts lead to hateful words,
which then lead to hateful actions.
Speaker 2 (46:36):
What an asshole thing to say in piss poor timing.
It's the dumbest thing I've ever heard, so because of
what he said. He deserved assassination, hate speech.
Speaker 1 (46:47):
That's what he just said.
Speaker 2 (46:49):
Wait, maybe it wasn't the dumbest thing. What about again?
On MSNBC Katie Turr.
Speaker 10 (46:55):
After one of the DOGE employees was allegedly attacked in Washington, DC,
that's what Donald Trump used as a justification to send
in federal troops into Washington, DC to get things under
control the carjacking situation.
Speaker 1 (47:11):
He used that.
Speaker 8 (47:13):
And I know it's hard.
Speaker 10 (47:14):
To predict the future, Mark, but you can imagine the
administration using this as a justification for something what a just.
Speaker 2 (47:22):
A dead thing to say, a desensitized thing to say,
an ignorant thing to say, and going forward, at least
for a little while, I don't want to hear we
need to sit down and have a conversation or it's
something we need to come to agreement on. No, Charlie
(47:42):
Kirk made it his career to sit down and have
conversations with whomever wanted to. And you killed him four
hundred million guns and we get walked over and killed
every day.
Speaker 1 (47:54):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (47:55):
This is a normal episode, people, I understand. I'm not
losing it called a special episode. I don't feel normal
right now. I'm breaking tradition. I'm breaking my usual patterns
of podcasts doing. You know, the time and the day,
I don't know, So we aren't going to be funny today.
(48:17):
We don't get sugar today because we don't deserve it
as a nation this week, not right now, and I'm
not in the mood to do it.
Speaker 1 (48:24):
I'd be faking it.
Speaker 2 (48:25):
So I'm just going to close with a quote from
Charlie Kirk from twenty eighteen.
Speaker 1 (48:32):
Quote.
Speaker 2 (48:33):
You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the
wealthy out of freedom. The government cannot give to anybody
anything that the government does not first take from someone else.
You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it. In quote, rest
in peace, Charlie Kirk. And I may or may not
(48:56):
be back next Tuesday.
Speaker 1 (48:58):
I'm not.
Speaker 2 (48:59):
I'm not saying so something cryptic or anything like that.
I'll be out of town all weekend, and that's about
the only time I have to I have together, you know,
everything to create a new episode. So I might be
gone fishing. It might be a gone fishing episode.
Speaker 1 (49:13):
I don't know. We'll see. If not.
Speaker 2 (49:16):
I'll be back the following week and I imagine I
will have stories to tell from this coming weekend. In
the meantime, remember.
Speaker 1 (49:24):
The Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
Speaker 2 (49:26):
That number is nine eight eight. You can call or
text twenty four hours a day. Someone needs it.
Speaker 1 (49:33):
Right now.
Speaker 2 (49:34):
This country is not well. And listen to what I'm
about to say. I'm asking it to listen because you
may not listen every episode because I say it every week,
and I don't want you to think it's just something
I say.
Speaker 1 (49:50):
I mean it, damn it.
Speaker 2 (49:52):
Take care of yourself and one another, no matter what
their political affiliation, and I'll see you.
Speaker 1 (50:03):
Peace threatened power. History is unbelievably clear on this. If
debate dies, when open conversation gets replaced with suppression or
intimidation by an ultimately violence, society walks into a death trap.
There is not an exception to this.
Speaker 2 (50:19):
So the ideas that require censorship or intimidation or blood
to survive, they are one hundred percent of the time poison.
An idea that can't survive in the sunlight has to
live in the shadows, and that is the death spiral
that we are in if we don't stop this shit
right now.
