The Cleveland Browns may have pulled off the biggest draft robbery in NFL history — landing Shedeur Sanders in the 5th round. A quarterback once projected as a top-10 pick slid all the way down the board, costing him tens of millions of dollars in guaranteed money. In this video, we break down:
  • How rookie contracts in the NFL really work under the CBA.
  • Why Shedeur Sanders’ 4-year, $4.6M deal is a fraction of what he should have earned.
  • The financial gap between Sanders and his former teammate Travis Hunter, who signed a record-breaking $46.6M deal.
  • The Browns’ quarterback strategy, salary cap crunch with Deshaun Watson, and why Shedeur could still become the biggest bargain in the NFL.
  • What Sanders must do to cash in on his second contract — and prove every NFL team wrong.
This is more than just a draft story. It’s a deep dive into the business of football, the money behind rookie contracts, and how one player’s slide could change the NFL forever.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back to another episode of The Sports Executive. I'm
your host, Jimmy Skirts, and let me say this video
is recorded premature after Chardor's second appearance today, and let
me say his appearance was terrible. I want to be blunt,

(00:22):
I want to be honest. His appearance was terrible. I
don't like to make excuses for his terrible output, but
it is what it is. So he came out today
sacked five times in completions, I mean, it was just

(00:42):
a bad outing and he was on the fourth spot rotation.
But again, before I get to that story, I want
to talk about how the brown stole Shardor Sanders. It's
the biggest draft robbery in NFL history. And remember Shador Sanders.

(01:09):
And again I'm going to talk about his play today,
But you know, everything changes a little about this video.
But he was touted as the second or third draft
pick in the NFL, and he went from one of
the brightest QB prospects in college football, a projected top

(01:30):
ten pick, to a fifth round bargain for the Cleveland Browns.
Now again, I know most people are thinking about, well,
he could help the franchise win, Well, he could bring
in revenue, and again, it's not about positioning, it's not
about revenue. It's about one thing solely. And this is

(01:50):
what people can't understand, the rationale of billionaires of the enemy.
They don't care about money, they don't care about fan favor,
they don't care what the fans think. It's the league

(02:10):
over the individual. And they don't like his father, Dion.
They're very vindictive and they don't forget that's what people
are missing. So they collaborate and they make sure he's
not a first round pick. And then secondly, teams had

(02:34):
the opportunity to pick him three and four times over
and they bypassed. And they made sure that the most
disfunctional organization in the NFL, the Cleveland Browns, pick him up.
Not only do they pick him up, they pick him

(02:54):
up after they drafted a quarterback ahead of him, They
picked up Joe Flacco, after they picked up Kenny Pickett.
And then once he gets there, they go out and
get another quarterback. They sent him to the Cleveland Browns

(03:15):
to humiliate him, to degrade him, to take away his
moral fiber, to see how strong his psyche is. But
it's the greatest financial move in NFL history. By far. Now,

(03:36):
of course, unless you've been living under a rock, you
know that Shador Sanders is the son of Hall of
Famer Dion Primetime Sanders dominated at Colorado. His combination of arm, talent,
football IQ and leadership had scouts drooling and analyzed analyst raving.
His final college season wrapped up, and we forget about this,

(04:01):
he got the Johnny U Ninus Golden Arm Award and
was named the Big Twelve Offensive Player of the Year,
we forget about this. Mock drafts consistently showed him as
a first round selection, and many projecting him as potential
top five draft pick alongside Caleb Williams and Drake May.

(04:24):
We forget about all this. We forget about all this.
So when all of these people say, well, he didn't interview, well, bloney,
it's not that they don't like him. They don't like
his father. And what was Dion Dion Sanders as a brand, flash, arrogance, flambornce, flamboyance,

(04:47):
money and again, I hate to say this, but if
you look at the Suns, not so much Shiloh, but
the rest of him fashion, flair, money, blame. I'm blessed, Okay,

(05:08):
I get it. I'm not downing you. The Sanders family
name is a brand. But again, they don't like Dion.
They don't like the father and they've been trying to
get after Dion for years but it hasn't worked. So

(05:29):
how we're gonna get him? How are we going to
get him? Go after his sons? And today both sons
played terrible. Shiloh was ejected from the game, and he's
on the bubble and again going into the game today
of the preseason final Presets season game, Shadoor was fourth

(05:54):
string quarterback. But I tell you what, Joe Flacco went
in there and looked great. He looked like a veteran,
like he knew what he was doing. Gabriel comes in there,
he looks great. Then he Pickett hasn't even played and
he's on a third string should Door went in. He

(06:15):
looked terrible. He was sacked five times, held on to
the football too much. Although he's in there with the
shit offensive line that's trying to make the team. By Tuesday,
still still bad. Colorado habits okay. But prior to all
of this, again, Shardour was a top draft pick. But

(06:40):
what happened? He slides to the one hundred and forty
fourth overall pick, fell to the fifth round, ten quarterbacks
drafted ahead of him, and most importantly, he lost thirty
million dollars in revenue. Now, yes he made it up

(07:02):
by his jersey sales. Yes he comes from money. But still,
when you have that branding of flash Flare, Flamboyance, bling, bling,
it's a lot of money. It's a lot of money.
When you value money, they hit you where it hurts. Now,
of course he's got his own money, but still he's

(07:25):
playing for peanuts again. NFL draft experts, Colorado fans, and
even neutral observers were stunned, stunned by Sanders fall down
the draft boards. What seemed impossible on draft night has
become the league's most shocking storyline. I don't forget he

(07:45):
had that draft party at the house, and look what happened.
Look what happened. Now again, we gotta break down the
steel that they got. Now again, you would say to yourself, Okay,
they got him at his steel. They're gonna work him
through the system. No, no, not after today, you ladies

(08:06):
and gentlemen. I'm gonna do another video about that. I
think he's gonna get cut. Him and his brother but
what they may do is put him on practice squad
hell for the next four years. That's right, if somebody
goes down. No, they're not gonna bring him in, not

(08:27):
after today, because they got Joe Flacco. Garribio's looking good.
They still have Picket regardless as a veteran, has some experience.
And don't forget they still have the Shawn Watson despite

(08:50):
being injured, he's showing videos like he's ready to come back.
How they gonna offload that contract and they even got
Huntly they went out and got him. No, they're gonna
humiliate him. Stop thinking in terms of what's good for
the franchise. Stop thinking in terms that they got him

(09:13):
at a bargain. Yeah, this is the face value the
Browns bargain. This is Sanders's actual contract, four year total
value for four years. They got him for four point
six million dollars over the life of his contract. The
signing BTUs. Oh yeah, meager close to five hundred thousand.

(09:36):
There's no fifty year option that protects him. And again
that's for exclusively for first round selections and limited guarantees
on the four point six million dollars. So he's just
being bullied right now. I mean, Sanders contract represents one
of the most remarkable values and recent AFT history. You

(10:02):
can't make this up. You cannot make this up. And
again I keep telling you we have four quarterbacks in
the rotation. No you don't. You got six. You got
Joe Flocco, he's already a week one started. He looked
very good. Today. You got Kenny Pickett, former first rounder.

(10:24):
They got him for insurance. Even though he's inconsistent, he
still got experience. They picked up Gabriel in the draft.
You can't have you can't pay someone this much money
and have him sit. And they went out and got
another quarterback, Tyler Huntley. Additionally, they still have Deshaun Watson,

(10:50):
designed by you know, Achilles injury. But he's got two
hundred and thirty million dollars in fully guaranteed money despite
playing just twelve games in three seasons. That was as
But however, Deshaun Watson is putting out videos of him rehabbing,
and I gotta tell you he could get reborn. Sometimes

(11:11):
you gotta die before you're reborn, like the phoenix. So Sanders,
if he were to come through this crisis, represents a
low cost, high upscale insurance policy. In a quarterback room
filled with uncertainty, with Watson's health a constant question and
Flocko's age, Sanders could find himself with an opportunity sooner

(11:34):
than expected. But again, after today's play, they're gonna fill
the narrative, even though they put him out there with
the crap shit offensive line, crap shit offensive line, with
the guys that are fighting to get a job by tuesday.
If it's gonna be fair quarterback play, at least put

(11:55):
him out there with a decent or halfway decent offensive line.
You didn't do that. You put him out there. He
got sacked five times. Flocko didn't get sacked, Gabriel didn't
get sacked, but Sanders got sacked. Yeah, he holds the
ball too long. Colorado s performance because he's looking at gunsling.

(12:21):
He's looking to sling it. But again, this would be
the perfect scenario. But I don't think they're gonna do it.
After today, the scenario is gonna be filled. The coach
is gonna say, well, after today's performance, yeah, he belongs
on the fourth string, and even then he might be

(12:44):
under practice squad. I think the best thing for him
is to get cut get cut. See if somebody picks
him up. If not, go play football in Canada. Stay fresh,
get some professional experience the Canadian League. It's nothing in
the NFL, but it's still a professional league. Show you
worth come back strong. And again, it's not just four quarterbacks,

(13:12):
it's six. Right now, you got a Deshaun Watson problem
thirty six point nine million. There's a cap hit and
it only gets worse. And they've restructured his contract twice
and again you got the Sanders cap hit at one
point one five million. However, his bargain salary provides crucial

(13:35):
financial flexibility for a team in cap hell. Again, you
would think that the Browns essentially secured a starter potential
for backup money. However, after today's performance, I think they're
gonna cut him because it's all about humiliation. And if

(13:56):
they want to humiliate him even more, keep him on
the practice squad, but never bring him up over the
next four years. This is about payback to Dion Sanders.
I'm telling you now, the long play game for Shador
would be the following earn the backup role, outperform Pickett

(14:20):
and Huntley to become the clear number two. It's not happening,
not after today's performance. It is what it is. Can
he play better yes? Is he probably better than Gabriel, Yes,
But it's about perception. It's about what happened. When you
gets the opportunity, regardless of a sucky offensive line, they

(14:42):
put you out there, capitalize on opportunities. He didn't do
that today. Deliver when given snaps. He didn't do that today,
prove his leadership. This is gonna be a hard one
because they're either going to put him on his practice
squad and play with him for the next four years
or cut him. I think the best thing for him
is to get out of Dodge, get out of Judge,

(15:06):
see if someone will pick you up, or if not,
go to the Canadian League. At least you're playing in
the Pro League and you're gonna get ESPN highlights. They're
gonna follow you to the Canadian League and hopefully someone
would pick you up. But he's got to get out
of Cleveland. He's got to get out of there because

(15:29):
right now he's gone from bargain to franchise QB. It's
been done before, it's been done before. But the problem
is he's Deion Sanders' son and this is pay payback.
Deck Prescott did it, fourth round pick, Pro Bowl one
hundred and sixty million dollars deal, Drafted as a project,
became immediate starter due to injury and never looked back.

(15:51):
Russell Wilson did it, third round pick, Super Bowl champion,
one hundred and forty million dollars worth of contracts, overlooked
due to high concerns. Became one of the NFL elite quarterbacks. Again.
Sanders had the opportunity undrafted, but you know he was
drafted fifth round, but underestimate his pedigrees, talent, his mindset

(16:14):
give him every chance to follow the footsteps of these
late round success stories. However, after today, I don't know
about that. I don't know about that. I don't know
about that. Was this a robbery or opportunity? It was
a robbery, But I don't know if he's gonna get
opportunity afterday. The future of Shador Sanders, I don't know.

(16:38):
I'm not surprised. I wouldn't be surprised if they cut him,
either cut him or put him on the practice team
forever for four years. And you say, oh, they wouldn't
do that, Oh they wouldn't, Yes, they would this is
a collaborated effort to humiliate his son, to get back

(16:59):
at Dion. That's what it's all about. And the Browns
may have stolen Shador Sanders in the draft, but the
final chapter isn't written yet. At this point, I gotta
tell you it's not looking good. While Cleveland celebrates their
fifth round heist, Sanders can use this perceived slight as
rocket fuel for his NFL journey. If he thrives in Cleveland,

(17:22):
developing into a quarterback many scouts believed he could be,
this so called robbery could transform into one of the
NFL's greatest comeback stories and the second contract. You know,
if he's even there in Cleveland, it's gonna be a
payday beyond belief. Did you think Sador Sanders was robbed
by the NFL draft? What factors caused his unexpected slide?

(17:45):
And I gotta tell you, I'm making this video host
his performance today, and I believe they're gonna use that
performance to either cut him or put him on the
practice squad. And if somebody goes down, they're not bringing
him in to support anybody. This is pure humiliation. This

(18:09):
is pure payback from Dion Sanders. And you know. I
don't want to make excuses. Yeah, he had the shit
offensive line, didn't have the proper people in. People dropping passes,
some overthrown passes. Shit day. Everyone's entitled to a shit day.

(18:32):
But in his circumstance, you can't have a shit day.
You can't have a shit day. And again, the owners
won't care what the fans think. They don't give a
shit about money. This is a collaboration by the man,
by the league, by the owners to screw Dion Sanyews

(19:00):
Sanders to Daddy, we're gonna fuck your sons over. Screw
your sons over. That's what it's all about. Let's just
put it out there. Yeah, he held the football too
much today. That's a habit because he's trying to sling
it down. He's trying to hit that home run. Someone's

(19:23):
gotta talk to him. But yeah, I believe he's gonna
be cut or further humiliation on the practice squad. They're
not gonna promote him. If someone goes down, they're gonna
humiliate him. That's the purpose. They don't care about the
dog Pound complaining. They don't care. Leave a comment, tell

(19:46):
me what you think. I'll see you on the next
