Time now for another visit with the story lady. Hello,
boys and girls. Today we're going to hear the story
I call the Elephant's Graveyard. Once upon a time there
was an ivory hunter who searched for the legendary elephant's graveyard,
where all the elephants go to die. There, of course,
he would find all of the ivory that he could

(00:21):
possibly carry back on his ship, and he would have
enough money to last him for the rest of his life.
But for hundreds of years, no man had ever found
the elephant's graveyard. How was he to do it? Finally
he had an idea. He went right up to an
elephant and said, gee, you look pale. The elephant looked

(00:42):
at him curiously, and the ivory hunter continued, you've lost
that nice grave flush in your cheeks. I don't think
you're long for this world. The elephant thought, awhile, then
turned and trudged off through the jungle. Overjoyed, the ivory
hunter followed him until he came to a place where
a hole a bunch of elephants were just lying around.

This must be the elephant's graveyard, he exclaimed, But really
