II mow for another visit with a story. Lady, Hello,
boys and girls.

Today we're going to hear the story I call the
Golden Plate. Once upon a time there was a very
poor farmer who found an owl living in a tree
top just above his rooftop. He went out one night
to frighten the owl away, but the owl said to him,
O farmer, please do not make me leave my home
here in the tree top. I can grant you a

great wish. I am very hungry, said the farmer, for
I am too poor to buy food. Can you grant
me something that will help me fill myself with delicious food.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
With that, the owl gave the farmer a golden plate.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Take this plate, the owl said, and put it on
your table each night. Every morning, when you awake, it
will be filled with the most delicious of foods. So
the farmer let the owl stay, and he put the
plate on his table and went to sleep.

The following morning, he awoke to see if the.

Owl had told the truth about the golden plate being
filled with the vicious food. He went to the table,
and sure enough, the golden plate was full of a
whole bunch of field mice.
