Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now it's time once again for another visit with a
story lady.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
To day, boys and girls, we'll hear the story I
called the Wizard of Oz. Once upon a time, there
was a little girl named Dorothy and her little dog Toto,
who both lived on a farm in Kansas. One horrible day,
a twisting tornado picked them both up and deposited them
in a strange new country named Oz, where they met

(00:24):
a tin woodsman, a scarecrow, a cowardly lion, a bunch
of midgets, and a wicked witch who wanted to kill
them all because Dorothy had her pair of magic shoes.
As quickly as they could, Dorothy and her friends ran
to the castle of the Wizard of Oz, for he
was the head of the country and could save them.
And he did save them. The witch was killed, the

tin woodsman was given a heart, the scarecrow was given intelligence.
Dorothy returned home where she grew up and went through
six or seven husbands, and the cowardly lion wound up
doing potato chip commercials.
