Hello, and welcome to the Stupid History Minute. I'm your host, KEB. Pound.
Today we're talking about Buzz. Buzz is the official mascot
of Georgia Tech and he was born in the late
nineteen seventies but didn't become official until nineteen eighty. Originally,
he was a student dressed in a homemade yellowjacket costume
who showed up at football games to fire up the crowd.

The name Buzz came naturally reflecting Georgia Tech's yellow jacket nickname.
His high energy, antics, acrobatics, and crowd surfing quickly made
him a crowd favorite. Over time, Buzz evolved into a
beloved symbol of school spirit, representing Georgia Teket sporting events,
campus activities, and national mascot competitions. Today, Buzz is one

of the most recognizable and animated mascots in all of
college sports. This has been the Stupid History in it
and I'm KEP Pound.
