Hello, and welcome to the Stupid History Minute. I'm your host,
Kep Pound. Today we're talking about Orbit. Orbit is the
lovable green alien mascot of the Houston Astros, and he
made his major league debut in nineteen ninety, replacing the
previous mascot Chester Charge with his fuzzy antenna and baseball
themed space suit. Orbit was originally tied to Houston's identity

as Space City. However, he was replaced in two thousand
when the team moved a Minute Made Park. After a
twelve year hiatus, Orbit returned triumphantly in twenty twelve, now zanier,
more expressive and ready to troll opposing players with antics
and dance moves. Since then, he's become one of the
most popular mascots in baseball, blending slapstip comedy with Houston
(00:50):
pride and some serious mascot swagger. This has been the
