(01:53):
Jesus teaches us about the importance ofreceptive hearts and mind through the Parable
of the Sower, God's unconditional loveand forgiveness in the Parable of the Prodigal
Son, and the value of seekingand finding the lost which is spoken in
(02:13):
Parable of the Lost Sheep. Theseparables and many others challenge us to examine
our own lives, faith, andrelationships, and to grow in our understanding
of the Kingdom of God. Thanksfor joining. So today we're going to
(02:39):
dive into our very first parable thatwas taught by Jesus. The Parable of
the Sower derived from Matthew thirteen, verses three to twenty three, but is
also mentioned in Mark four verses oneto twenty as well as Luke eight four
to fifteen. So go ahead andtake out a scripture if you would like
(03:04):
to Matthew thirteen versus three to twentythree. You can also find this information
or find this parable reading on mywebsite firestarterignite dot com and just search for
the parable of the sower on themain page. When the word of God
is preached from the pulpits or evenread in scriptures, seeds are being sown
(03:30):
into our spirit men. Depending onthe condition of our heart. We will
either accept the seed and reap theharvest, or we will reject because of
the thorns and scorching weather, orlet it stay in stony places of our
lives that are taken by the enemy. Matthew thirteen, verses five to six.
(03:53):
Some fell on rocky places where itdid not have much soil. Is
spring up quickly because the soil wasshallow. But when the sun came up,
the plants were scorched and they werewithered because they had no root.
As a as a gardener or asa recent gardener, I have actually experienced
(04:15):
this particular concept in my own inmy very own life. I had gone
on this journey of gardening very recently, and I have observed the growth of
the seed in a particular soil, and I had I had to actually watch
(04:36):
this concept develop in front of myvery eyes. When I had originally planted
the seed. I had put itin the ground hoping that it would spring
up in due season, only tofind out a few a few weeks later
(04:57):
that some of the seeds were notable to come up. And what was
the issue? What was the challenge? Here was the problem that those seeds
were not able to spring up?Well? Some of the things that I
have experienced, or some of thethings that I have observed, is perhaps
there was too much overwatering happening inone place, or perhaps that seed was
(05:24):
not getting enough of the nutrition thatit needed to be able to or the
sunlight to be able to come up. And just like in this parable,
the farmer goes out and he justspreads the seed. He does not know
where it's gonna land, just asa gardener does not know the the expectancy
(05:49):
or does not know what's going tohappen with that particular seed. Some will
fall on rocky places, Some willspring up very quickly, as I have
observed very recently in my own life, and some will not come up because
(06:13):
of the sunlight or because of thescorching sun that had destroyed these plants,
because they had been withered and hadno root Matthew thirteen seven says, other
seed fell among thorns which grew upand choked the plants. I've also seen
(06:38):
this in my past journeys as agardener. I have seen seeds grow in
the midst of thorns, and thethorns choke out the plants. Matthew thirteen
eight says, Still, other seedfell on good soil were it produced across
(07:00):
one hundred and sixty and thirty timesthat was sown. And listen, I
have also experienced this, and Ihave also have seen this happen in my
very life where I took care ofthe garden. If I took care of
the seed, it produced the crop. It produced so many tomatoes that it
(07:21):
produced so many peppers because I hadcarefully taken care of this plant. Jesus
gives a revelation through parables, aspiritual analogy with the message, and only
pure of heart will see the revelation. Strive to be pure of heart and
(07:43):
to seek the Kingdom of God within. For more information, you can find
