(00:00):

insights that come along with the chapter. I will be reading from your International
version Bible, and you're welcome tofollow along with me with a Bible version

(00:23):
of your choice. My son,do not forget my teaching, but keep
my commands in your heart. Fordaywill prolong your life many years and bring
you peace and prosperity. Let loveand faithfulness never leave you. Bind them

(00:50):
around your neck, write them onthe tablet of your heart. Then you
will win favor and a good namein the sight of God and Man.
This teaching, what is this teachingthat is being talked about in this passage?

(01:14):
My son, do not forget myteaching. This is wisdom speaking.
Do not forget my teaching, butkeep my commands in your heart. God's
commands in your heart. These commandsor these instructions will prolong your life and
bring you peace and prosperity. Allthe good things that God has in store

(01:38):
for you are available to you theminute that you say yes to wisdom.
Let love and faithfulness never leave you. Bind them around your neck. It
is on your neck. It isvery close to you. It is on
your neck, next to your heart. It is very close to you.

(02:00):
Written on the tablet of your heart. Trust in the Lord with all your
heart, lean not on your ownunderstanding in all your ways. Submit to
him, and he will make yourpath straight. Very familiar scripture to many
of us. Trust in the Lordwith all your heart. Lead not unto

(02:23):
your own understanding. We so oftenlean on our own understanding, trying to
figure it out, trying to figureout on our own trying to make sense
of it all. But wisdom instructsus to trust in the Lord with all

(02:44):
of our heart, not to truston our own understanding, your lean on
our own understanding, but rather trustin the Lord with all of our heart.
In all of our ways. Submitto him, and he will make
our path straight. If we submitto God, he will make every path,

(03:05):
every crooked path straight. Verse seven. Do not be wise in your
own eyes, Fear the Lord, and shun evil. These are instructions given
by wisdom. You're welcome to takeit, or you're welcome to reject it.
Just know that when you listen towisdom, you are going to receive

(03:30):
peace and prosperity. When you listento wisdom, your life will be prolonged.
When you listen to wisdom, youwill in favor and a good man
in a good name in the sightof God and man. Do not be
wise in your own eyes. Fearthe Lord and shun evil. What does
it mean to fear the Lord?It is to respect and give honor to

(03:57):
the King, to the King andmaster of your life, the Lord,
Jesus Christ. We must fear theLord and shun evil. We do not
fear men, We fear God.And therefore we shun evil. We reject

(04:20):
evil, we expose evil, webring it to light. This will bring
health to your body and nourishment toyour bones. These are insights that are
derived from the Book of Proverbs. If you just take one passage of proverbs

(04:44):
from the Book of Proverbs, youare bound to found find wisdom. If
you just take one passage one scripturefrom the Book of Proverbs, you are
bound to find wisdom. Verse nine. Honor the Lord with your wealth,

(05:04):
with the first fruits of all yourcrops. Then your barns will be filled
to overflowing, and your vets willbrim over with new wine. Honor the
Lord with your wealth, whatever Godgives you, Honor God with it.

(05:28):
Honor God with the first fruit ofall your crops. That means the very
first paycheck, the very first, the very first addition to your family.
You are to give that to God, the first fruit, the very first,
the very best of your crop. And only then will you see the

(05:54):
overflow in your life. Only thenwill you feel will you see the overabundance
in your life, My son,do not despise the Lord's discipline, and
do not resent his rebuke, becausethe Lord disciplines those he loves as a

(06:16):
father, the son he delights inas a mother or as a parent.
Allow my children. So I'm notgoing to let my children go the wrong
way. When I see them goingthe wrong way, if they are entertaining

(06:38):
foolishness, if they are doing somethingthat is displeasing, I'm not just going
to let my children engage in foolishness. In love, I will correct them,
and i will discipline them. Andso the Lord says, my son,
do not despise the Lord's this blinand do not resent his rebuke,

(07:02):
because whom the Father loves, hedisciplines. Blessed are those who find wisdom
those who gain understanding, For sheis more profitable than silver and yields better
returns than gold. Blessed are youif you find wisdom. Blessed are you

(07:29):
when you gain understanding. This wisdomthat Solomon is talking about in the Book
of Proverbs is more profitable than silverand yields better results than gold. He
goes on to say, she ismore precious than rubies. Nothing you desire

(07:51):
can compare with her. Now thiscomes from the mouth of Solomon, the
wisest meant to ever live, therichest men, one who had it all,
one who had his desires fulfilled, one who had all the riches that
life can offer. Yet he saysthat wisdom is more precious than rubies,

(08:18):
and nothing in this world can comparewith her. Long life is in her
right hand, and in her lefthand are riches and honor. Her ways
are pleasant ways, and all herpaths are peace. She is a tree
of life to those who take holdof her. Those who hold her fast

(08:43):
will be pleased or will be blessed. Apologize. By wisdom. The Lord
laid the earth foundation by understanding. He set the heavens in place by his
knowledge. The watery depth were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew

(09:07):
wisdom. Wisdom accompanied the Lord atthe beginning of foundation. Wisdom was there,
my son. Do not let wisdomand understanding out of your sight.

(09:30):
Preserve good judgment and discretion. Theywill be life for you, an ornament
to graze your neck. Then youwill go on your weight and safety,
and your foot will not stumble whenyou lie down. You will not be
afraid. When you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. Have no
fear of sudden disaster or of theruin that overtakes the wicked, for the

(09:58):
Lord will be at your side andwill keep your foot from being snared.
In other words, God will protectyou. Do not withhold good from those
to whom it is due when itis in your power to act very good,
very good, insightful words right here. Do not withhold good from those

(10:24):
whom you know you should give towhen it is good in your power to
act. Not say to your neighbor, come back tomorrow and I'll give it
to you when you already have itwith you. These are insights of wisdom,
and they can go a long wayif we just listen to wisdom.

(10:46):
Do not plot harm against your neighborwho lives truthfully near you, trustfully near
you. Do not accuse anyone forno reason when they have done you no
harm. These are wise insights.Do not envy the violent or choose any
of their ways, For the Lorddetests the perverse, but takes the upright

(11:11):
into his confidence. The Lord's curseis on the house of the wicked,
but he blesses the home of therighteous. He mocks proud mockers, but
shows favor to the humble and oppressed. The wise inherit honor, but fools
get only shame. And so thatis the end of Proverbs chapter three.

(11:39):
And I pray that we're blessing toyou. There's much wisdom to derive from
this chapter, much wisdom. Icould sit here all day and just gain
all this knowledge and understanding from thisbook. I can just sit here and

(12:00):
just draw in all the wisdom thatGod has to offer. There is much,
much, much wisdom. And Ipray it was a blessing to you.
Thank you for one. Thank youonce again for joining. And God bless
