Speaker 1 (00:30):
Hey, what's going on? Everybody?
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Welcome to a brand new mini episode for the Terrible
Terror Podcast and we are here on the eve. Well cusp,
however you want to say it of episode three hundred
and I don't got much for you guys this time,
to be honest with you, I don't have a whole lot.
The only thing that I guess maybe I can talk
about went and saw Weird Out last night. That was
(00:52):
a ton of fun. We went paranormal Pat and I
went out to go see it. And you can probably
hear Charlie yawing in the background, because you just that
this is the time that she wants to get attention,
is the moment that I turn on the mic and
start recording with everything. And sometimes maybe you can't hear,
and sometimes maybe you can, but she's a cat and
she does what she wants. But nonetheless, so yeah, we
(01:14):
went out and we saw his Weirder tour that he's
doing and Puddle's Pity Party opened, and he was a
lot of fun. It was different than I thought it
was going to be. And it's weird because where Weird
Out played this year. If you're from my area, then
you would know he played at the Shoreline, which is
(01:35):
a relatively big place to play. I'm not a big
fan of the Shoreline. The problem I have with the
Shoreline is that it is designed to be like a
concert place where all the seats are up front, and
then the grass area that's way the hell back there
is like the general admission. So when certain bands come
(01:58):
through and they play that look, there are certain bands
that totally fit it right, and there's other bands like
that I tend to go see shows for they don't
really fit it that well, So it ends up being
like a lot of the energy gets lost when you
see certain bands, in my opinion, and it's you're so
far away from the stage if you're doing ga and
(02:19):
you got to pay a lot for the seats, especially
if you want to get relatively close. There are some
bands that are absolutely fantastic there. We'd out and his
band is definitely one of them. Same thing with Puddle's
Petty Party. It was fine. We got seats, so we
were nice. We did have to exchange seats with a
couple of people because you know, Peril and Pat's kind
of a larger gentleman, and so with me and him,
(02:41):
we kind of like take up five seats, but you know,
and I'm taking up three of those seats, so not
really like we.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
Fit just fine.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
It's not a big problem, but it definitely sucks when
you're kind of smashed in the middle of it. And
he accidentally bought the two seats next to the two
seats on the end, and the ending rows for the
short line don't have any you know, armrests, so it's
a lot easier for him to you know, fit in
those types of seats. I don't mean to blow out
his shit right now, but hey, that's what I'm doing,
(03:12):
you know. But so when you know, when the people
that came there were supposed to be there, he asked nicely,
they were like, okay, I totally get it, and so
they switched with us. We got the seats that he
intended to get originally, and you know, everything was fine
and kosher for the rest of the show. Puddle's Pitty
Party was interesting, just because I didn't know what to expect.
(03:33):
Like I've seen a lot of his like shorts, and
I know that he's another one of those people that
got big on like TikTok and like shorts and just
doing kind of covers in his clown outfit and stuff
like that, but he has a lot of originals. He
was definitely obsessed with Kevin Costner, and I will tell
you that everywhere I looked, any video you had on
the screen had Kevin Costner. And his closing song was
(03:54):
the song from Titanic. If you know the words, you
can sing along. I chose not to, even though I
knew the words, uh, but it was funny in the
way it was done, and he had some good audience
interaction as well, which I really enjoyed. It was weird
in location like that, but the venue being so big,
I was just like, man, like, it seems really big
for word out, like really really big Fordow, and he
(04:17):
basically sold the place out. It was absolutely packed with people.
I'm glad that I bought the parking that I bought
because we would have been there for fucking ever. And
it was cool seeing all the people get into it.
And it's also cool when you go to a show
like that and everybody's kind of youre in seats are
just kind of sitting down and enjoying it. Like the
vibe was a little weird, I will give you that,
(04:39):
Like it didn't seem as dancy or moving. They were
just kind of all there. But it's also like there's
a type of crowd that's there. It's definitely a family crowd.
Like it's not my normal show, but god damn do
I fucking love word Ow. And he played a couple
of songs that I didn't think he was gonna play.
He played Skipper Dan, which I was hella hell like
(04:59):
like surprise and excited for because I've never seen him
play that song live. It's one of my favorite more
recent songs. And it's weird to think that the last
album he did was Mandatory Fun and there hasn't been
an album since. But he did play the Polka that
he made a couple like a year back. I think
he did like a more updated version of his polka,
and he played that all the way through. He did
(05:20):
a montage of songs where he played a couple of
songs like I wish I'd heard it all the way through,
so like Bedrock Anthem, I wish had been played all
the way through, I wish Partying the CIA got an
all the way through play from Eat It and only
played like half the song like it was a cool montage,
And when he started the show. So the show started
at seven. Puddle's Pitty Party actually came out a little
(05:42):
bit early, like five minutes early. I'm not talking like
an hour early or something like that, or half an
hour early, and then Weird Now started at seven fifty,
and I was like, oh crap. You know, usually when
you go to these shows and you have your your
you know three bands that say play right, two to
three bands. If it's two bands, first one place for
forty five minutes, and then the next one plays for
maybe an hour and a half, maybe an hour fifteen,
(06:04):
maybe hour twenty somewhere in there. But that's the set
that they put on for the whole show, right, unless
it's specific like I think older generation bands where there's
a ton of songs. And they played for like close
to two hours, right, So I was like, oh, it's
seven fifty. He's starting right now, Like what how long
is he going to play for? And I looked over
(06:25):
at Pat and I was like, this seems really early.
Maybe we're gonna get out of here like at nine o'clock.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
You know.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
He played for damn near two hours and like twenty minutes,
and yeah, there was like breaks in between where he
did some like video stuff up on the screen and
played some skits of his and stuff like that that.
But they were only like maybe five minutes at max,
maybe at max maybe a couple only a couple minutes long.
But he was just going all out and it was great.
(06:52):
He sounded great, The crowd got really into it, you know,
and he even did an encore of course, like he
always ends with Yoda, at least in the last couple
of times that I've seen him when he's like not playing,
Like I went to the Ill Advised Tour, which was
one of the best tours I think I've seen him on,
just because he was playing like all his non parody
(07:13):
songs and a couple of covers and it was fucking
cool to see that. Like, I think that was my
best second best experience that I've had, or sorry, best experience.
I would say that's my best experience with him. Second
best is when he basically did kind of like this
show here, but he did it with the Berkeley Philharmonic
and they did That was the No Strings Attached tour
(07:36):
that he did, where it was all an orchestra playing
the songs with him playing these parodies, having a full
orchestra on the back, which is nuts as it is,
that's my best word out experience other than the.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
Very first time.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
The very first time that I got to see him
finally was a ton of fun. So I don't know,
it was just a great time. It's not something that
maybe some people would expect. Maybe some people would expect
that I'd be a huge word out fan. Like if
there was ever an artist that I would call the
first artist I truly fell in love with, it's weird Al,
Like that was the guy I was obsessed with as
(08:09):
a kid. Like I liked a lot of artists, you know,
and as I was growing up, but I remember as
a young kid, you know, like things like the Beach Boys.
I've never been a big Beatles fan, you know, I
like the Rolling Stones, but I just kind of like
some of the songs that were there, and Weird Al
was like the first artist where I was just like, man,
I just want to listen and listen and listen and
(08:29):
listen to him. And so being able to see him now,
you know, he's in his sixties, I'm his oldest fucking
dirt and still being able to experience that and enjoy
it and to even think that a couple of his
first albums was when I was a really little kid
that I wasn't even out there listening to music or knowing,
you know, who my favorite band or artist is going
(08:51):
to be. And I definitely would place where it ow
my top five favorite artists of all time, and I
love his originals. Hardware Store is one of the coolest
fucking songs to hear in the way that it's done,
as well as you know, my favorite word OL song
of all time all time out Devo's Devo and that's
(09:11):
Dare to be Stupid. What's your favorite word OL song?
I'm kind of curious to know if you're a big fan,
you're not a fan at all, you like a couple
of the songs. It's funny because when I was talking
to Pat and he was talking about a friend that
when he said, oh, I'm going to see word out,
probably some of you don't know or you don't really
would want to go see type thing, and then she responded,
who's weird Al? And It's like, how do you not
know who the fuck weird Al is? That's like the
(09:33):
weirdest thing in the world, and maybe you don't really
know who it is. I get it if you're not
inside the US, maybe because I don't think he tour
as much outside of the US, but at least here
you know, you should know who he is. It's the
King of parody, the King of Polka man, the King
of Polka. How do you not know who the King.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
Of Polka is?
Speaker 2 (09:51):
So it's just a lot of fun you get with
the songs. Though it was weird because the people behind
me were laughing like they had never heard the songs before.
And I'm like, you're you're at a weird al show
and you're huge weird Al fence. You're talking about all
the times that he's come to the Bay Area and
all this stuff. But then you're laughing at it like
you've never heard these songs before. And maybe they didn't
(10:12):
really like, you know, keep up with it. And they
were going for like the classics to go see him
do fat and maybe lasagna and stuff like that, like
a surgeon, you know, those songs, but instead, you know,
you didn't really keep up with the more recent stuff,
and you're hearing some of the recent stuff for almost
the first time. Okay, don't get it, but still, when
you're laughing at fat like it's the first time you've
(10:35):
ever heard fat before and.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
You're older than me.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Yeah, well maybe, I mean I don't want to, you know,
knock anybody's fun, but it's just weird. Maybe it's just
really weird to me, and that's really what it is.
So big Fan had a lot of fun. I'm trying
to find out where the hell I can see Hell
House LLC at the new one Lineage because I know
it's gonna be on shutters. It's out in theaters right now,
(11:02):
and there's like one theater that has it today that's
at like nine forty five at night. And I don't
know if I really want to go out at nine
forty five at night to someplace that's like forty five
minutes away just so I can see Hell House LLC.
But I might have to go. I think I might
just break down and do it. Get the tickets, go
experience the new Alamo Draft House out there in San Jose,
(11:25):
and just do it and see because I really want
to see this movie. Like I've really loved all of
the hell House movies. I've thought about doing the Hell
House movies for the podcast. There is four for October
and it's a thought, and the only one I don't
really like so much is the second one. I feel
like the second one is the weakest out of all
(11:47):
of them. I love the first one. I think the
first one is my favorite, you know. I think a
lot of people probably will say the first one's their favorite.
Then I like the fourth one. I thought the fourth
one was fantastic. That was the one where I stayed up.
I'd be like, I'm gonna put it on and if
I fall asleep, I'll just finish in the morning. And
I was so engrossed in the damn movie. I stayed
up all night and really fucking late at night to
watch the rest of the movie. And it actually creeped
(12:09):
me out because I was watching it with the lights
off in my bedroom up here. And I don't use
the TV that's in the bedroom very often. I used
to more, you know, when the wife was around, but
you know, now that she's she's gone, I don't really
use it as much except for when I want to
be lazy and I want to watch football and I'm
going to be up here and I'm like, I don't
(12:30):
want to go downstairs right now, and I'll watch some
football before I get started.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
With my day.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
So it's just it's interesting. I want to see this movie.
I don't know where I'm going to be able to
find it. I wish it was available at more places easily, but.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
It's just not.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
I just don't know why it has a release and
why it's at so few theaters and at least like
an AMC or Regal or over here at Cinemark. I'm
not sure if anybody out there else has cinemarks in
their area or even the other two AMC I think
is pretty widespread for what it is. But I really
want to see the movie. Other thing I'm gonna see,
(13:06):
which I'm so fucking excited for. I'm super excited to
go see this movie. Oh my god, I love this
movie to death. This is like a childhood like favorite
of mine and I never got to experience it in
the way that I'm going to experience it. On Tuesday,
my cousin and I we're gonna go see Clue. If
you've never seen Clue before, the movie Clue with Tim Curry.
(13:26):
It's got a bunch of other like famous, like kind
of older comedians at the time, like I think mattal
and Con might be in the movie. If I remember correctly,
it is fantastic. It is so funny and if you
like growing up. I think I was too young when
it was released to go see it in theaters. I've
only seen it on TV. I love doing these things
(13:46):
where they put movies in theaters. I missed out on
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles because I just kind of didn't
feel like going.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
But Mike with Clue Clue, I have to go.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
I need to go see Clue is the way that
I was thinking about it, And so the the way
they're doing it is that, at least with the theater
that I'm going to on Tuesday, they didn't say what ending.
Certain places get all three endings and you can choose
ending one, two, or three. Right if you've never seen Clue.
Ending three is the true ending and the other two
(14:15):
are you know, just red Herrings, you know, just like
the Communists.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
And so what.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
But we're going they're not telling us what ending it is.
So it's gonna be like the original theater experience where
you'd picked a B or C and you don't know
which ending you're gonna get for that movie. And so
I'm excited to see what ending. I actually get for
this movie, so looking forward to it. Can't wait to
see this and I'm so so excited to see CLU right. So,
(14:45):
and I know what you're all really here for. I
know the way that this mini episode works for a
lot of people. You go and you just skip to
the ending, and every once in a while I mess
with you and I put it right at the beginning
of everything before I talk about the rest.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
Of the stuff. But you want to know what mo
Moe we're going to be seeing. Well, So, like I.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
Said, this is ice Cube Baby Baby, he is month
So we're gonna do another movie. And I think this
is appropriate for movie three hundred for the podcast. It's
a movie that I've been meaning to do for an
extremely long time. It's a movie that has a reputation
with some people that I know, and it's an inside
joke within those people and in that community, and it's
(15:26):
always used whenever they're talking about random movie.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
You know, we should watch a movie? What should we watch?
Speaker 2 (15:32):
They somebody happens to message this one, or a joke
starts going on about something that they're doing, and this
movie pops up. And it's been a really long time
in coming for me.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
To do this movie.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
So not only are you getting ice Cube, you are
also getting some John Carpenter come along with this. You're
also getting some Natasha Henstrids. You're getting Jason motherfucking Stath
them in this movie.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
The movie that we're going to be doing for this
time is going to be Ghosts of Mars.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
It was supposed to be a routine prisoner trasports. Williams
was arrested on the suspicion of murdering six real workers.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
The bodies were hung and decapitate.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
But here a million miles from home.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Anybody here, drop your weapon.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
I ain't coming back. They're about to discover nothing is
what it seems. We're gonna situation there, everybody in the side.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
The hell is going on out there.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
Whatever you used to live here, we woke it up.
It takes us. I'm talking about a kind of possession.
Something's kicking out there. You need us, We need juice.
None of us is gonna survive.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
You stick together.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
Come on time, stay alive. Second time. I've saved your life. Yeah,
what it's hass I'm the master of terror. John Carpenter's
(17:51):
Ghosts applies. Damn girl like you already.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
I love how the tagline of the end is you
don't stand a ghost of a chance with the whole thing.
It's this movie. I haven't seen this in forever. This
could possibly be one of the best so bad, it's
good movies that John Carpenter has done. I'm also looking
forward to John Carpenter's talks of Commando. If you haven't
seen the game, I saw a little gameplay footage from
(18:24):
games Calm. It looks over the top and dumb, and
that's what I'm here for now. One of the things
is is that this is streaming through Stars, so it
is available to stream online. If you have Stars connected
to whatever you have, whether it's Amazon Prime or Hulu
or YouTube TV, Fubo TV, anything like that, renting you
(18:45):
can do. It's available on a lot of different platforms
to rent. So this is gonna be one of those
movies where if you haven't seen it in a long time,
you really want to see it, you don't have the
ability to stream it, I'd say watch it anyway you can.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
So it is available out there. Check it out.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
And I think that it's going to be a lot
of fun, and I again can't believe it's going to
be three hundred fucking episodes of this goddamn podcast that
I've done at that point, and we're also approaching slowly
but surely the end of this season, and so not
only is this episode three hundred, but we're gonna kind
(19:21):
of count this as the possibly the birthday episode, possibly not,
because my birthday will fall in between these two episodes.
That's there, and then we've only got basically, let's see
one two episodes before we start A son of a bitch.
Looks like I do have five episodes to do in
a row, because I realize that the twenty seventh is
(19:44):
an episode, and then the fourth, eleventh, fifteenth, and twenty fifth.
Originally I was thinking I was going so nicely directly
in to October on the fourth itself, and then I
only have the four episodes, and then when I come out,
I have it. So there's a possibility, because of the
way October works for me, that there I may or
(20:05):
may not actually do a break for a little bit,
just do a two week break before I start October.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
I'm gonna look at it. I like to keep on schedule.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
I'm a stickler for fucking schedules, and I know that
I've got a couple episodes that I got to put
in the bank to make sure that I, you know,
get October done properly. And I'm not just staying up
until the odd hours of the night recording podcasts, even
if it's going to be on the weekend. So thank
you guys so much for joining for this mini episode,
(20:38):
and make sure that you check the socials. I hope
you guys really enjoy War of the Worlds. I did not,
but I hope you enjoyed the podcast in listening to it,
so I did get some good feedback from it, so
that's great. But uh yeah, and there's a couple of
things I know that I missed. The one thing I
missed was the whole thing with like the military and
everybody went down. But the fucking stealth bomber still work
(21:00):
if you go to the YouTube channel. Okay, because we
did a stream or I did a stream on Tuesday
night where I just kind of went through games Comms footage.
But then somebody in chat was asking about War the World,
so I played the honest trailers trailer for that, and
I was stopping it like for it must have been
twenty minutes. I was starting and stopping it and just
(21:22):
ranting the hell and the stuff that I missed is
on there some of the last like twenty minutes of
this stream, So the vod is available on YouTube.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
You can go check it out. I just went off
on fucking.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
War of the Worlds again and how dumb that movie
is just ridiculously dumb. And if you haven't checked out
the episode, what are you doing? Check it out please.
I appreciate it. As always followed me on all the socials.
