(00:00):
The Tesla cybertruck launches tomorrow, andwith it comes more information and products.
Tesla execs towards Thailand looking for aspot to invest five billion dollars, and
a new safety feature for the Modelthree uses the hood to save pedestrians.
It's almost time. Tesla officially launchestheir long awaited stainless steel cyber truck tomorrow

(00:23):
with a delivery event at their gigafactoryin Austin, Texas. And aside from
the hype reaching peak levels, afew more pieces of information have dropped as
the clock ticks down to the Novemberthree to the November The biggest has to
do with some extra details about theevent itself. Last week, we learned
from Tesla execs that there will beonly ten trucks delivered at the event,

(00:46):
not a huge number, but notaltogether unexpected given how careful the company has
been with their production process. Butthere's a possibility that this might change.
On November twenty seventh, drone photographerJeff Roberts spotted a stockpile of cyber trucks
that appeared ready to ship in theGiga Texas parking lot. At least twenty

(01:07):
five trucks, not including release candidatesand other prototypes were seen being washed and
charged. Now it is possible thatthese trucks aren't ready for the event,
or that there intended to be someof the first to be shipped out afterwards,
but it seems like an odd choiceto not include them in the delivery
event if Tesla can manage it.So maybe there will be some surprises tomorrow.

(01:30):
But it seems that Tesla execs weren'tdone dropping some early details about the
event, because the same day thatthose extra cyber trucks were spotted at Giga
Texas, Tesla Investor Relations had MartinVietcha made a post saying that the event
will be starting at one pm CentralTime tomorrow. The November twenty seventh post
was made because Viecha had noticed somefolks thinking it was going to be an

(01:53):
evening event on the thirtieth, whichtells us that Tesla is keeping tabs on
what folks are speculating about the eventitself, and that the invitations sent out
to investors have probably had the correctdate and time and they just weren't leap
yet. Either way, this timeslotmakes a lot of sense, as folks
in Australia could conceivably tune into theevent at six am, while folks in

(02:15):
Europe could watch along at eight pm, which allows for viewing in every market
where the cyber truck has been populara smart move. Meanwhile, hype has
continued to build across the US andCanada as cyber truck models have been set
up in showrooms, allowing many peoplethe chance to see the truck up close
for probably the first time. Justlast week we reported that the stainless deal

(02:37):
vehicle was starting to be displayed, and on November twenty fifth, there were
reports of lines forming to see thefuturistic pickup. And it was because of
these showroom appearances that we got wordof a type of cleaning product that Tesla
seems to have developed with the helpof auto detailing company Auto renew. The
bottle of fluid called cyber Shield wasspotted at a Tesla dealership in f Florida

(03:00):
by Reddit user dmc eighty one. While discussing stainless steel finished maintenance with one
of the employees, the user washanded this cyber Shield bottle and it looks
very professional, even including a descriptionon the label. Cyber Shield is a
cutting edge cleaner and protective solution thatredefines the way you care for the exterior
stainless surfaces of the cyber truck. The employee confirmed that the finishing solution was

(03:25):
made in collaboration with Tesla, andwhile we're not sure if it was made
only for dealerships to help maintain thebest finish possible, it would be really
odd if Tesla or Auto renew didn'tend up selling this sort of peripheral It's
exactly the sort of thing cyber truckowners would probably want to buy. But
this bottle of cleaner is just themost recent example of half a dozen features

(03:47):
and related products for the cyber truckthat Tesla fans have been trying to guess
at for years now, but especiallysince the company really started entering their pre
production and prototyping phase in twenty twentyfive two. After almost two years of
increasingly intense attention from Tesla fans, the excitement is palpable. Log onto any

(04:08):
Tesla forum, glance at any Teslanew site, and you'll see a ton
of cyber truck content. This pickuphas definitely gained a life of its own
in terms of how recognizable it is. Love it or hate it, Tesla
and cyber truck are almost synonymous now, and tomorrow's event is sure to pull
huge numbers. We'll be having anotherwatch party in our discord server, so

(04:29):
if you would like to join us, check the discord link in the description
below. The hunt for a newTesla gigafactory location in Southeast Asia is getting
hotter, as company executives recently visitedThailand to inspect several locations that could be
suitable for new facilities. In arecent interview, the Thai Prime Minister confirmed
that the visits from Tesla included timefor the company's representatives to experience the culture

(04:54):
of Thailand, as well as viewssome good sites for a new Tesla facility,
one that the Thai government says thecompany is willing to invest five billion
dollars into. Over the past coupleof years, Tesla has made a big
show of courting several countries in SoutheastAsia, including Thailand, Indonesia, and
India, and just about every country'srepresentatives have said they are close to a

(05:15):
deal at one point or another. And that's the tricky thing about negotiations.
Everyone's trying to get the upper hand, and that means they're going to always
be advertising how strong their deal is. But while it can be difficult to
suss out who is really in thelead here, we do have some easy
clues. Obviously, an exec teamtouring the country for spots to build is

(05:36):
a big point in Thailand's favor here, but we should probably consider the talk
of Tesla wanting to invest five billiondollars as unconfirmed until the deal is actually
signed. But Thailand is actually apretty enticing place for Tesla to put down
their next gigafactory. The local governmentis clearly happy to invite them into the

(05:57):
country, but more importantly, it'salso geographically close to Indonesia, which will
come in handy if Tesla ends upinvesting in that country's nickel minds. And
Tesla does have a history with Indonesia. Last year was full of back and
forth between Tesla execs and the Indonesiangovernment. The island nation has huge nickel
minds that battery makers would love toget in on, and in turn,

(06:19):
Indonesia would really love to have abig company like Tesla invest there. And
while the recent economic downturn has madethe relationship cool a bit, it hasn't
stopped Elon from communicating with the Indonesiangovernment regularly, and it looks like Tesla
is still planning on investing in thenickel industry there. But there's another Southeast
Asian country that Tesla has been veryinterested in negotiating with, India. Almost

(06:44):
the entire time they've been talking withIndonesia, Tesla has also been attempting to
convince the Indian government to lower theirstrict tariffs on foreign imports. The back
and forth has led to the ideathat maybe Tesla will be making their next
factory there instead, but there havebeen a lot of diplomatic roadblocks. And
here comes the tricky bit, becauseit's likely that Indonesia, India, and

(07:05):
Thailand have all been talking about thesedeals in order to seem like they have
the upper hand, which probably suitsTesla just fine. We can't be sure
if Tesla actually wants to build inThailand or is just letting things seem that
way to get India to lift restrictions, but either way, it definitely looks
like the company is getting ready tomake a choice soon. Now that the

(07:27):
updated version of the Model three hasbeen out for about three months, several
new safety features are getting some attention, and there's some pretty clever bits of
engineering, first brought to our attentionby user Tesla Underscore adri on X.
The Model three, redesigned formerly calledHighland, has some passive safety features that
the original didn't metal hooks for keepingthe doors aligned in a crash, double

(07:49):
power dampner's on the trunk to stabilizethat part, an active hood, and
the driver drowsiness warning system. Thedrowsiness warning system is based around a camera
installed above the rear view window thatwatches for the amount of yawns and blinks
a driver makes, warning them onthe central infotainment display if it detects some
drowsy behaviors. It's a little oddto have your car watching you while you

(08:11):
drive, but a lot of accidentsare caused by people driving while tired,
so it is a useful system tokeep those incidents to a minimum. The
rest are pretty self explanatory, butthe act of hood is something relatively new.
The idea is that in the eventof a collision with a pedestrian,
sensors in the front bumper will senda signal to the Model three's computer.

(08:33):
An algorithm will determine if the accidentrequires more intervention, and if it does
a pair of pistons pushes the rearof the hood upwards about three inches.
This cushions the blow that a personwould receive from slamming into a nearly horizontal
hood, which is one of thebigger causes for head injuries in these types
of collisions. This feature is reportedlyalready available in the Model S and Model

(08:58):
X in some market, but reportedlyall new model threes have the active hood
now. The only downside is thatafter activation, you'll need to get a
Tesla service center to reset the pistonsand realign your hood, sort of like
what you'd have to do if yourairbags deploy, But it's a small price
to pay for minimizing pedestrian injuries.Safety features like the active hood are the

(09:20):
sort of thing we all hope tonever have to use, but it is
encouraging to see Tesla taking an activerole in protecting people. Now, we
just have to wait for the Highlandrefresh to make its way to North America
for the features to be adopted here.
