It seve of your Nashville Predators Report. We look back
over the weekend. Nashville took on Pittsburgh in Sweden. Friday
was Game one of the Global Series, in which the
Prids got to win two to one in overtime. Whoa
we won. Then on Sunday the two teams have faced

(09:27):
off again and Sweden didn't go well for the Predators
because they lose four to nothing. It was three to
nothing by the end of the first period. Just no
fight for the Cats in that one. Now the Cats
are off all week until Saturday, so don't expect a
Predators report. We may throw one in Wednesday, just kind
of catch things up, but their next game is indeed

(09:50):
on Saturday. It's a home game against the Colorado Avalanche
seven o'clock Central Standard time eight o'clock for those of
us on the East Coast. We got a win, but
nothing really to write home about. That is your Predators Report,
brought to you by Carl Patterson Flooring of Hayesville. Listen,
over thirty five years in the business, if you were

(10:11):
new flooring in a new home or a new flooring
in an existing home, they can help you out go
by see them today ten eighty five North Carolina Highway
sixty nine in Hayesville. Or give them a call a
two eight three eight nine sixty two two eight. I
need you to tell them two things. Tell them Traves
sent you and go Preds. Ladies and gentlemen, we need

(10:34):
to talk. You know. We had our annual Friends given
on Sunday, and it hit me harder this year than usual.
It wasn't flashy, it wasn't dramatic, no Hallmark movie orchestral
music playing in the background, just a group of friends
crowded around to table, juggling cast roles, trying not to
burn rolls, pretending we know the exact science of carving
a turkey. But for the first time since last year,

(10:56):
everybody who couldn't make it made it. Life's been pulling
in every direction, you know, new jobs, kids, stress, loss, winds, chaos,
and somehow, despite everything, there we were again, same group,
same laughter, same comfort. Sure, some people weren't able to
be there, that's life. But the ones who walked through
that door, man, it felt like coming home. And as

(11:17):
we set there, catching up, telling stories, grossing each other
like always, the old say and cross my mind you
can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family.
And I realize that statement isn't true, because somewhere along
the line, without even noticing it, those friends became family.
Not because we share DNA, not because we look alike
or grew up under the same roof, but because we've

(11:39):
been through it together, because we've seen each other at
our worst and state anyway, because we've celebrated the victories
and survived the heartbreaks. Because sometimes when your world feels
like it's falling apart, it's not a relative who shows
up first, it's the friend who grabs their keys Before
you even finish the sentence, I need help. There are
moments in life when your friends know you better than

(12:01):
your own family. They understand the version of you that
you became after high school, after heartbreaks, after real life happened.
They don't see who you were, They see who you
fought to become. And as I looked around that room Sunday,
I thought, how lucky are we to have people who
aren't obligated to love us, but choose to anyway. People

(12:21):
who don't need a holiday or family tree to show up,
They just do not because they have to, because they
want to. So Yeah, friends given is one day on
the calendar, But the people around that table, they're the
ones who make the rest of the year worth living.
Because when you find true friends, you did pick your family,
and you picked well. That is today's trap talk win

(12:48):
or wick up. In the Moment's time for study hall.
Come on in, take a desk and get ready to
take notes. Today's stop at criminal justice pay attention. In Germany,
the man who used the coffee shop restroom came back
to his table and discovered his laptop was missing. A
few days later, the man spotted the laptop on a
local bicle trade website and set up a meeting to

(13:10):
buy his laptop. The man arrived early at the meeting
spot and had with him a female undercover cop who
pretended to be the man's girlfriend. When the thief showed
up with a laptop, he was immediately arrested. Now we
can look at this from two different angles. One genius
on the laptop owner to catch him. But it was

(13:32):
stupid to walk into the bathroom just leave your laptop
there like you're too trusting, and of course the guy
who's selling it, you got to have more sense than that.
Obviously he didn't recognize the guy or wasn't paying attention,
But there you have it. Criminal justice class dismissed our

(13:53):

but don't you worry two full hours ago. Coming up
in an hour number two, make our first look at

Our number two on a Tuesday. Thanks so much. Tune
in to the Trash Show. You know, when you miss Monday,
it just throws everything off. It feels like Monday. I
hope you had a great weekend. We didn't get to
talk yesterday. My weekend was great if you were listening
to our one. You know we had friends giving. But
also my beloved bulldogs dominated the horns horns down. So

(15:58):
uh that was good Titan's loss. But we all knew
that would happen. So I mean, really, what better weekend
could have? I have had a Tuesday edition of The
Trash Show, brought to you by Strong Coffee Company. Save

News or nonsense coming your way. Also the Facebook. Find
you children of the eighties and nineties. Boy, do I

(16:42):
have something for you? Let's get things going, shall we
news or nonsense? Look, if you're fear of swarms of
stinging insects, was it strong enough already? Look at the
new horned Lucifer bee discovered by scientists should do the trick.
Australian scientists have discovered a new bee species named Lucifer,

(17:06):
distinguished by the female's striking devil horn. According to doctor
Kit Prendergrast, how do we just discover this thing? Did
it just develop? I got questions? Maybe the story has
answered the latest source of nightmare fueled sports dual horns

(17:27):
on its head, all the better to fill your brain
with only the most terrifying things when you try to
sleep at night. You're welcome. Here's more from the New
York Post. The team of scientists discovered a new bee
species that they affectionately nicknamed Lucifer after noticing that it's
female cohort sports a set of devil like horns two things.

(17:49):
Affectionately calling something lucifer sign of the times, and I
just want to point out it's the female just saying.
Kip Pendergrass, the lead author of the Stutty Pup in
the Journal of Hoiman No Terra and Who among Us
doesn't take that fine periodical. He wrote in a statement

(18:09):
that she helped dream up the name who Oh. She
wrote in a statement, I'm sorry I misread that. I
apologize no ill intent there. She helped dream up the
name while watching the award winning Netflix show lucifer Ah.

(18:30):
The name just fit perfectly. I'm also a huge fan
of the Netflix character Lucifer, so it was a no brainer. Listen.
I feel like we need to have prayer meeting after
this story. People affectionately naming things Lucifer admiring a character
named Lucifer. No wonder, these creatures are starting to come
out of the darkness.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
You know.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
It's comforting to know that our scientists are big fans
of Lucifer. Insect was discovered in Western Australia, where all
the other most horrific creatures live again. How do we
just now find it? The species mail bees, though lack
the horns, the exact effect of this may have on
their function or place in the colonies, if any, is

(19:15):
still unclear. So the mail bees are totally cool and
lack stingers. The females have stingers and devil horns. Got it,
ye'all sleeve tide tonight, lucifer hornets the next big thing.

Speaker 7 (19:32):
With the not news I'm not trapped with a penny
no longer being minted, shoe manufacturers announced that they are
working hard to replace the old penny loafer slip on
shoe design with an exciting.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
New nickel loafer.

Speaker 7 (19:45):
Penny loafers got their name from teenagers in the nineteen
fifties who placed pennies in the leather slots stitched across
the saddle of the shoes. But with pennies now obsolete,
shoe companies were rushing to design the world's first nickel loafer.
Things change, and we have to change with them, said
shoe manufacturer Tom Shoemaker. Pennies may no longer be in production,

(20:07):
but we can't just stop making loafers.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
It's okay.

Speaker 7 (20:10):
Due to inflation, increasing the worth of the coin being
placed in the loafers makes sense anyway. However, it appeared
that the design process had proven significantly difficult for shoe manufacturers.
I designed many of the shoes, but none have been
more challenging than the nickel loafers, said Bob Gucci of Gucci.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
How did you design a shoe that.

Speaker 7 (20:30):
Is exactly like the penny loafer of a Screams nickel.
At publishing time, President Donald Trump had announced that all
coins would be phased out, leading to the design of
bitcoin loafers.

his peace is only a prayer away. Take a moment, breathe,

Speaker 9 (21:34):
Here's Mike Fabarees, Bible teacher, on focal point.

Speaker 10 (21:38):
As everyone in the church seeks to serve one Christians
twelve twenty two reminds us that the parts of the
body that seem weaker, they're actually indispensable. The implication is,
no matter how God has gifted you to serve, whether
on the platform or in some supporting role, if that's
not well seen, we can give ourselves wholeheartedly and enthusiastically
to the way in which God has called us to serve.

(21:59):
No part of the body is unimportant. Every committed and
participating servant is indispensable to the others. The church will
never become healthy, we'll never get productive until each part
is working properly. We should strive to master and maximize
our individual contributions to the welfare of the church, and
then we can intentionally look around and see and acknowledge

(22:21):
and appreciate every part that serves in the Body of Christ.

Speaker 9 (22:25):
Want More joined Pastor Mike Fabarrez each weekday on Focal
Point to be equipped for life details at Focalpointradio dot org.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
News or nonsense, y'all. You never know what's going to happen.
Just I mean, you're just sitting at home and then
all of a sudden chaos ensues. Case in point, this
is from Cowboy State Daily, fine news source. I'm assuming
two mule deer bucks. We're brawling so hard with each

(22:59):
other they tumbled into a window well and crashed through
the plate glass into the basement exercise room of a
suburban Denver home. The rocous incident happened about twelve thirty
am Sunday in Rocksboro Park, a semi rural neighborhood adjacent
to a Colorado State park of the same name. According

(23:22):
to reports, So they had the old window well that
goes down to the basement window. We've seen them, we
know what they're talking about, and too deer fighting so
hard they go down in that through the glass into
the reck room midnight thirty on a Sunday. I mean
all of us would love to be woken up that way.

(23:42):
Uh uh. I guess maybe you get used to stuff
like this if you live next to the wildlife park. Now,
they have protocol for this sort of thing out there, though,
The befuddled homeowner called for help, after which Colorado Parks
and Wildlife agents showed up and shot the bucks with

(24:03):
tranquilizer darts. There's a picture here of one of the deer,
and it's a nice one looking up Wildlife park looking down.
That looks like some scene from a horror movie or something.
Now it did work, thankfully. They were able to get

(24:23):
the deer outside, or at least back into the wild
where they belong. Apparently this can happen when deer fight
each other during mating season. As one expert told the
Cowboys State Daily, gets pretty ugly sometimes when the gonads
migrate into the brain y'all that's your official statement, all right, word?

(24:53):
But yeah, just imagine you're asleep and you hear this.
You know, you would think someone breaking in. You open
the basement, doordan too?

Speaker 9 (25:01):
Deer?

Speaker 1 (25:02):
I wonder if they stopped fighting immediately, or if they
kept fighting and then they realized, hey, wait a minute,
we could be playing ping pong. I don't know, or
after they were tranquilized, when they were taken back into
the woods. You think they woke up went for a
round two? Who knows? It's time for today's Facebook Find

(25:22):
of the Day. Children of the eighties and nineties petitioned
this one is for you. Comes to us out of Maryville, Tennessee.
Who has this? Sarah van Landingham is offering this fine.
Actually it's a twofer today find products now. Sarah joined

(25:43):
Facebook all the way back in two thousand and eight.
She is a pioneer original. If you ever find yourself
homesick for a time instead of a home I think
we all do the older we get. Do I have
something for you? They say you can go back home?
We can, But with this you can go back to
the nineties. My friend, she lists this as original unopen

(26:08):
six pack of Surge. That's right. If you're not familiar
with Surge, think of Mountain Dew. With more caffeine and
more sugar. You would be bouncing off the walls. So
it's a six pack unopen. Not only that, also comes
with a working promotional Surge alarm clock. It has the

(26:33):
Surge logo on it in a couple of places. Now, Sarah,
you could have dusted this bad boy off. I think
But anyway, how does it wake you up? Not with
that annoying no. No, you set your alarm when it
comes time. This thing just screams, surge, Surge, surge. That's

(26:54):
a much better way to wake up than right. And
if you say alarm, keep us this six pack next
to you. Crack one open to start your day. I
don't know where you'll end up, jail or the hospital,
but you will start your day. Man, do you all
remember sarch? It's like drinking straight sirup, wasn't it. I

(27:15):
loved it, though It's probably why I had to quit
drinking sugary drinks. Kidneys. But all of this could be yours.
You could return to the nineties for the low low
price of five hundred dollars. What pretty steep. Well that's
just about doing for hour number two. But don't you fret.

(27:36):
We still have a full hour to go. In that hour,
more news or nonsense. Tom Brady's a loser, I'll tell
you all about that, plus another story, maybe the world's
nasist criminal, and the crazy news story of the day,
plus our feel good story. All that coming up an
hour number three. Right now, it's tign to finish Hour two.

owns in New York City was ripped off to the
tune of nearly ten thousand dollars in baseball and Pokemon cards. Now,
to me, it hurts me that baseball cards and Pokemon

(30:56):
cards are in the same building. But I mean, you know, capitalism.
Let's see from the Daily Mail TMZ. So I'm quoting
the Daily Mail. Who's quoting TMZ? See the way media works.
TMZ Sports claims that the incident occurred shortly before noon
on Monday at card Vault, the high end trading store

(31:19):
a Brady acquired a fifty percent stake in back in February.
Suspect his alleged of attempted to purchase merchandise worth nine thousand,
seven hundred and ten dollars, only for the payment to decline.
He's then accused of tricking an employee on the cash
register into believing he had paid, before walking straight out
of the store with the goods Uh oh, hey, I've

(31:42):
already our patriot. I remember I gave you I gave
you a twenty, you gave me two back in change. Look,
here's the two. Oh yeah, I got sh y'all. You know,
somebody lost their job. Incident occurred only weeks after the
Great for which Brady was present. The card fault also

(32:03):
has locations in other parts of the country, including Chicago, Boston,
and Dallas. No word on whether those locations have really
really gullible cashiers. Look, I feel bad for the cashier because,
like I say, you so, they recently opened maybe the
first time this person's ever ran a cashier or cash register.

(32:26):
You know, they're just trying to do a good job.
And this guy is probably a smooth talker, probably a
cod man. This is not the first game he's ran. Joe, Yeah, yeah,
you're gout, maybe threatened. I already paid you man, You
want me to get the cops down here. No, it's
a yeah, you're right, you did pay. That's one thing.

(32:47):
Say it to you. If I'm running cash register in
a card shop and somebody's buying ten thousand dollars worth
of stuff, I'm paying attention because something doesn't seem right.
There is that a common thing those of you in
the collectible carbs world y'all dropped ten or grand at
the drop of a hat for a peek at you
and a Babe Ruth.

Speaker 7 (33:09):

I think this offseason will be different, just trying to
figure things out.

Speaker 12 (33:43):
A lot throughout my career, the off season has been
the scary time.

Speaker 13 (33:46):
I'm Mark Caro and this is PRN's Roge Pass.

Speaker 14 (33:52):
This is the kind of racing you can feel in
your chest, door to door, inches apart.

The upcoming Cup Series season is going to be Kyle
Busch's fourth driving for Richard Childress, but after he was
lured away from Junior Motorsports, veteran Jim Pullman is going
to be Bush's new crew chief.

Speaker 11 (34:33):
I think this offseason will be different, just based off
of trying to build some camaraderie and some time with
Jim and being able to spend some time with him
and just kind of figure things out and what makes
him tick and obviously ways of things of what makes
me tick and sort of getting on the same page
to start our season. You know, those are always the
best ways of being the most successful with a crew
chief is when you know when each other is thinking

(34:54):
what they're thinking, and sort of you can anticipate what's next.
It used to be a lot easier to just do
that through practice, having three hours of practice every given
weekend and be able to talk in the holler in
between those practices, and so now a lot of conversation
happens outside the racetrack that you're not doing on track
activities and you're not in the stress of getting into

(35:16):
the next thing.

Speaker 13 (35:17):
About to begin his twenty third Cup campaign, Pullman is
going to be Bush's eleventh different crew chief, and on Sunday,
Hall of Famer Terry Laboni celebrated his sixty ninth birthday.

Usually this time of year, Zane Smith is trying to
figure out who he's going to be driving for the
following season, But after front Row Motorsports recently signed him
to a new multi year contract, the twenty six year
old that doesn't have a care in the world.

Speaker 12 (36:11):
A lot throughout my career, the offseason has been scary time.
People ask me if I look forward to it, and honestly, no,
I never have as I've always been searching for what's next,
and so to have that extension kind of tied up
and know what I'm doing for the foreseeable future is
exciting and a nice weight off the shoulders. And yeah,
definitely looking forward to enjoying some time off.

Speaker 13 (36:33):

Speaker 1 (36:40):
We've got another letter to Trav. Hopefully y'all keep sending stuff.
This helps me feel a segment of the show says, Hey, Trev,
hope you're doing well.

Speaker 7 (36:48):
Man.

Speaker 1 (36:49):
I know you've always got a plate full with the
show and life in general. So I'll keep this short
reaching out because I could use a little dad to
dad at vice. My daughter just turned twelve over not
it feels like we entered the teenage universe emotions on
turbo drive confidence one minute and shut down moade the next,
And suddenly she knows everything and I apparently know nothing.

(37:10):
You probably know the drill. I want to raise her
rite and be the dad she needs, but sometimes I'm
not sure when to step in and when to back off.
I don't want to smother her, but I also don't
want to miss something important because I'm trying not to
hover my biggest hope is that she'll keep talking to
me and still feel like she can trust me even
as she grows more independent. He goes on, this is

(37:31):
from Tyler, dad of a twelve year old girl, trying
his best. Tyler, Buddy, you're going in with the right approach.
You do want to Here's what I found and we're
on the later end of the teen years with our daughter.
But if you go in with that mindset and that approach,

(37:53):
she's going to know that you're there for her. And
when it's serious enough to come to dad, she will.
She will just knowing that you're there for that will
mean a law. Also, I'm not sure her wife situation,
but if you're married, you can count on your wife
to kind of read her and tail her tell you, hey,

(38:13):
you might want to talk to her. Because she's a woman,
she understands those things. But as a dad, just be
present and always remind her, Hey, I'm here for you,
even when things are good. Just reminder I'm here for you.
That's all I can tell you. Buddy. Buckle up and
hold on is all I know.

QUEI gun crazy. It's time for the crazy news story

(39:33):
of the day. We head to Pennsylvania where a man
is recovering from a gunshot wound caused by his dog.
The odd shooting have in November the eleventh in Shillington, Pennsylvania.
It's according to WCAU. The fifty three year old man,
whose name was not released, said he was cleaning a
shotgun and put it on the bed. Now, let's see

(39:57):
cleaning My shotgun laid on the bed a He then
sat down near the weapon. Oh I see where this
is going. That's when his dog jumped up on the
bed and caused the shotgun to go off. Police found
the man on the floor of his home and rendered
aid until EMT's got to the scene. He was saying
to an area hospital where he had to undergo surgery.

(40:22):
I have questions. Maybe maybe some of you are bigger
gun fans. It's not that I'm not a fan of gun,
but every shotgun that I've ever dealt with, you have
to cock it. Why if he's cleaning his gun, why

(40:49):
did he cock it with a shell in there with
with it live. That doesn't make sense to me. Maybe
I'm wrong, but it seems like the dog's getting to
blame here for something the man had done. But I
could totally. I mean, I can see the dog jumping

(41:11):
on the bed. Sometimes I'll be, uh, you know, headed
to bed at night and getting ready to lay down,
and the dog lady be in the living room, And
somehow by the time I get to the bed and
lay down on the bed, she's already on the bed
and hogging the cover. So I can understand that. I
just don't understand why it was loaded and cocked, which

(41:35):
I guess the dog could have just hit the hammer
when it jumped up enough to fire the gun, but
still why did it have Amma within it? If you're
cleaning it, I need answers. This needs to be a
law in Order episode, Law in Order, Dog, good dishit.
That is today's crazy news story of the day, news

(41:58):
or nonsense. I we head to Canada or Canada for you,
uncultured people. In an incident that could only happen in Canada,
perplexed passengers found themselves at the mercy of a super
nice bus jacker. Now what from the story This is

(42:18):
from the New York Post. Canada Man. I like how
they do. They don't say Canadian man, Canada man. Hijack's
city bus but miraculously makes every stop, forces riders to
pay fare. A random man allegedly slipped behind the wheel
of a Canadian city bus and operated it as if

(42:40):
he had just punched in for his shift, shocking a
group of late night commuters. According to authorities and reports,
the bizarre joy ride began when the real driver stepped
off a Hamilton Street railway bus for a quick break
in Hamilton, Ontario, around nine pm last Tuesday. Moments later,
the bus, which was carrying roughly ten passengers, lurched into motion,

(43:04):
but the man behind the wheel was a completely different
unauthorized driver. Authority said, I'm picturing that scene from Seinfeld
where Kramer's driving the bus. You'll remember that now. Being
a true Canadian, the hijacker politely went about the business
of checking bus passes and helping passengers reach their destination,
albeit with a few hiccups along the way. Back to

(43:25):
the story here. At one point he even denied a
writer attempting to board with an expired bus pass. The
mysterious motorist, however, veered off course from the typical bus
route and a few times requiring passengers to help him navigate.
He took the bus off route. Trevor McKenna, a spokesman
for the Hamilton Police Service, told the allot he started

(43:46):
going down side streets. At one point one of the
passengers had to supply directions the plot. Canadian passengers tolerated
the hijacking, of course, and politely assisted the polite Canadian
bus hijacker. The police did not identify the criminal, but
did acknowledge that he quote played by the rules Canada,
or even the criminals played by the rules, Well kind

(44:10):
of what a guy a who knows they may not
even charge him in Canada the way things are. I
want to know why he stole the thing? Did you
just have a dream of being a bus driver? He's like,
now's my chance. I'm going to prove to him I
can do it. Maybe he'd applied for a job six
or seven times. I'll show them and now this is

(44:33):
going to be on his resume. Man, we live in
a wild time doing. Here is a good news story
from the West coast of Africa. In Sierra Leon, a
baby girl named Miminatu had a tumor growing from her

(44:53):
neck that, by the time she was ten months old,
had reached a size nearly as large as her face.
Local doctors had said she was too young for surgery,
and the family feared the tumor would eventually compromise her
ability to breathe, swallow, or even cry. But then a
volunteer from the charity Mercy Ship spotted her case while
their hospital ship, the Global Mercy, was docked in Freetown.

(45:17):
Recognizing the urgency, the team aboard offered to perform the
surgery free of charge. The operation was led by British
malifacial head and next surgeon, doctor Leo Chang from the
Royal London Hospital, a meticulous four hour procedure in which
he removed the life threatening tumor. He later said that

(45:37):
every millimeter counted, every decision calculated as they were to
prevent bleeding and protect the baby's delicate airways. Post surgery,
Mimina Tu and her mother remained on the ship until
she recovered. Weeks later. At home, the baby's neck has
healed and her mother says she was filled with such
great joy to see her daughter's face full of light

(45:59):
and life. Man, what a good story that is. Probably
saved this young girl's life. And how can that not
be a good story. Well that's gonna all that do
it for the old Travinator on a Tuesday. Thanks so
much for joining me. I really do appreciate it. If
you miss any of the show or you just want

(46:19):
to hear it again, you can catch us on demand, Pandora, iHeartRadio,
Amazon Music, Audible Speaker, and on Podium. I thought on Spotify,
but I couldn't find it, so maybe something has happened there.
I need to look into. You guys, have a great Tuesday.
I'll be back with you tomorrow. Thanks for listening to
the Trap Show.
