Speaker 1 (00:00):
The UFL Draft is postponed. We got the a F
one crown. All that and more an episode one oh
nine of the UFL Podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
One Killed three.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Welcome back, everybody to another amazing edition of the UFL Podcast.
I'm the rep representing Pro Football News Room, the leaders
in spring football news, and boy oh boy, oh boy,
oh boy, oh boy do we got It's a week,
(00:58):
we got some we were you know what. It's a
championship week, so there is some big news to share
with you. But before we get started, I'm joined as
always by my man, Zach Kyleman.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
How you doing today, my friend?
Speaker 4 (01:13):
Live in the American Dream. That's all I got, Living
live in the American Dream. It's off season, uh, surviving
the heat, not trying to melt out there in the
Arizona sun.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
But did escape to New Mexico this.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
Past weekend for for a very wonderful concert. Have you
ever heard Saint Paul and the Broken Bones. Great band.
Check them out. They got that motowney rock sound.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Really good stuff, very nice, very nice. Did you get
anything with green chilies? Green hats? Chili's on it while
while you are out there?
Speaker 4 (01:43):
Actually it's funny, I didn't get it in New Mexico,
but I got a Wholebrook right.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
By the border.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
Uh okay, fair if I order anything hatch, If I
anything hatch or chili based, I always got the Christmas mix,
which is for those who don't know they have green
and red chili's. That's their face, That's what New Mexico
is known for Christmases. Just get both on the same dish.
Preferably though, And I'm curious, I want want to know
your thoughts. I prefer green reds to me, more heat
(02:11):
less flavor. But the experience I had at this place
called Chameleon in whole Brook, Arizona, it was better read
this time than the last time I had it. But
like green chilies, I'm.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
With you too. Yeah, it's funny. We were my my
wife and I were just talking about making anchiladas over
the next couple of days, and you know what she
read my mind.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
She came back.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
She brought at least the hatch green chilies to go
along with them.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Like, all right, let's go.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
It's also really good in an omelet, also great on
a burger. Green chili is this versatile you could throw
it in almost anything, and it adds a little bit
of pizaz too.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
My first my first time my dad came out here
to visit me. He brought he helped road trip.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Me out here.
Speaker 4 (02:48):
We didn't really go grocery shopping for that stuff, but
like I had kind of gotten the hatch hatch greens
out here. And he came out a second time with
the family at that first Christmas that I was out
in Arizona and completely discovered you can buy him and
can he was so used to just in the restaurant
and so ever since then, I'll surprise him or I'll
like almost guarantee to get him a jar because he
(03:11):
can't find it in Indiana, so he uses it for everything.
The thing gets done in a few weeks.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
I'm talking.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
You get the big jar of the five oh five brand. Yeah,
he's a sucker for that hard eggs. You put it
and you name it. If it goes in any dish,
he'll put it in there.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
So yeah, man, I'm getting hungry now. Uh oh, I
think we're having Indian food for dinner, so not grant,
not the green Chili's. We're gonna do that one over
the weekend, so it kind of heat.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll take it. But before we jump
into things, here's what you gotta do.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Guys, follow us social media, you know the drill at
UFL podcast, at PF Newsroom, at UFL Newsroom, at the
rest says at Zach Kyle Man, at all the things,
at all the things, Hey throw it around the UFL
in there as well, and just go follow them all
all the plays, all the things. Go do it x
is where we're most likely going to post pic.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Go goes.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Join the other ones too, because it's fun.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
It feels good.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
You know what feels good, subscribing, Clicking the bell, it
builds MOREL. It makes everything better. I mean, it's the
off season. You're bored, you're a little bit down down
in the dumps, a little bit slum. Go ahead and
make sure that bell is clicked. The MOREL is going
to be kicking in, and you know what, everything counts.
As we head towards a new season, a season three
(04:31):
of the UFL, what would this be a season five
of the USFL, which is kind of crazy to think about.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Which would my.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Goodness, things fly? A couple other things, like the video
that's free. I always say, if it's free, it's me.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
Like the video if you haven't watched Summer Stock already.
Watch it.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
If you've watched it, share it. If you share it,
share it again. You know what I mean? Hey, throw
a comment on it like that one too, because you
know what, all those things matter. One thing I might
you know what, maybe I don't know. I got. I'm
working on something behind the scenes, zaguboys, something a little
(05:09):
bit different, something a little bit spicy. You know, I'll
talk about it a little bit. I'm working on ref sauce.
Rerough's hot sauce exact. You're working on hot sauce.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
I'm working on a hot sauce. And we'll see.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
We'll see if this actually comes to fruition. I have
to see because one, I don't expect many people to
buy them. But it's one of these things where I
saw that it could be done, and I don't know.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
We'll have to see how feasible it is.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
I might do a small batch, so it might be
a limited edition. The catchphrase put it in your mouth, Okay,
pretty direct, but also you know you can put it
on your food, but it goes in your mouth ultimately, Yeah,
you know what I mean. But if you want to
just dump it right in, it's going to be good.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
I do know people that do just go yeah, that's
the only time I'm doing that motion on this show.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
So yeah, I'm glad.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
I'm not.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
I know that's already gonna get clipped in the discord.
So that's okay.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
You know, I have plenty of them out there, Zach,
I clipped to myself, be good, embrace it.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
It's all for the fun.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
I'd make yours, but I don't want too on my
name today.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
Yeah. No, no, mine's a little bit overboard, but no,
I might. Actually we'll see because I think, you know,
I here's the thing that dawned on me. We have
this little market that sets up by the arena, not
the Arena Marina, then Marina by Us and they did
the first one. Well, you and I were traveling across
(06:41):
the country, and as I looked at the vendors, I said, man,
there's really there's a couple of people there, and they
got some interesting things, but nothing too crazy and not
that many. But I know people are all going to
this thing, And to me, I'm like, you know, what,
how is nobody out there selling a homemade hot sauce.
This is Texas. People will eat hot Sauce, and I
first hand no, because I won. You saw the barbecue
(07:04):
place that we went to. It's just in a parking lot,
best at least in the top fifty in Texas.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
I say it's the best.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
But one of the other guys I met in the
same parking lot he set up a booth selling pickles.
He just took his grandma's recipe, started jarring his own pickles,
and within six months they're selling his pickles at Margueriteville. Wow,
I'm like, you know what, why does Refie? Why don't
why don't know ref get in on this? And because
I'm telling you there's something to this sack, you know
(07:32):
where I live too. If I just slap American Maid
on this bad boy and just I don't know, maybe
got like a red, white and blue REF shirt, like
maybe like an American Sideway's American flag, and I just
went out there and said, Ref Sauce, put it in
your mouth, American Maid and just had it on a table.
I'm telling you I probably could sell him.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
I think I might.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
But aren't you forgetting the one other thing that would
make it sell more?
Speaker 1 (08:00):
Oh? If I slapped a big Texas that's literally the
one point, I should just change it Texas sauce, tex sauce.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
Put it in your mouth. That stays.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
My wife was like, why put it in your mouth?
I'd say, well, where does it go?
Speaker 4 (08:17):
That's a fair nowhere else, I hope to god, nowhere else.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
So i'll show you after the Zach. I already created
the label for it. I have like the whole I
got it all figured out. It'll cost in a small run,
it'll cost me about seven dollars a bottle. And so
if I charged ten dollars a bottle, which is a
lot of money. I know this, but it's a cool
it's cool. It's just wait, do you see it, Zach.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
It's good.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
It'll be good, Okay, So something to look forward to
in the off season, guys, we might get some ref sauce,
and if you like Ref's hot sauce, we might get
Ref's barbecue sauce. I got a whole gauntlet of sauces
that we could do, Zach, so all of which you
can put in your mouth. So I think that's about
(09:04):
enough of that. Let's get into the news the UFL
collegiate draft. You know, I think the last we left
office said hey, there's a lot of things to look
forward to in the offseason, one of which is the
college draft at the time, we're speculating is probably going
to take place in July. Why, well, that's kind of
what they said earlier in the season two. Historically that's
when they've done these things. You know, with the XFL
(09:26):
is a little bit earlier, but with the UFL, that's
when they did it last year. I don't think the
good news is I don't think anybody's taking this as
a negative thing. I don't think there's anybody saying, oh
my god, oh she's they're delaying this, what's going on?
And I think they're seeing it for the positive move
that it really is. I'm curious, Zach, positive, negative, What
are your thoughts on this? No, this is the right move.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
I definitely was kind of curious last year why they
were doing a collegiate draft before anything else is decided
with these camps and with anything that's NFL related, Because
here's the deal. All these rookies, they're coming out of college.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
They want to get.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
Their big league doe first and see if they can
land that. So why are you you know, yes, it's
a rights draft, you still have to sign these guys,
but like, why make it less favorable for them to
work to kind of be focused on that as a
league option when they're not going to be thinking about
that until minimum the end of August. So I thought
(10:23):
this was a smart idea. I mean kind of goes
back to the USFL in a way. I know that
was more February back then, but that was also to
try and collect a lot of the guys from last
you know, cycle, and so you give them time to
kind of talk with the league and kind of get
them set up, and then you can put them in
that database and then draft them as you please. You know,
I know some folks in the USFL at the time
(10:43):
did also put in waivers for guys that were going
into that draft, which.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
I think was kind of a mistake looking back.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
If you were putting in waivers for guys that were
going into that coming years, you should have really been
focusing on the year prior.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
And I think we've got it on the right.
Speaker 4 (10:56):
Sweet spot now because a lot of these players are
gonna going, Okay, well I don't I don't have my
do Maybe yeah, I can maybe get picked up by
a practice squad, hopefully later on or soon. But what
if I take this and I put my name into
the draft for the UFL and say, I like a
team and I think my odds are better with the
UFL to.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
Get some tape, and so I'll stick with that. So
this was a good call.
Speaker 4 (11:18):
You know last year's I did look back July seventeenth,
that was when they held the last UFL collegiate draft.
Twenty three of those players, by the way, did get
signed over the course of this season with the UFL,
so not too shabby. Those numbers have been going up
a year over year for those collegian drafts, by the way,
so good progress. This is another ad to say, hey,
(11:39):
let's get some younger talents, in which I think the
league wants to focus more on that than less on
the veteran players if they had if they don't have to,
or try and find guys that are stars that way,
So you know, it kind of it kind of fits
the whole mold.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
It's good, it's a good move.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
There's nothing, I mean, what would be the negative of
putting the draft after the training camp.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
I just know how people are on the internet.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
I'm not questioning you, I'm questioning the audience. What is
the negative, because if there is one, I don't see it.
You went through, you go through the entire NFL cycle.
The NFL is going to be in in season mode. Yeah,
they'll look for guys if year there, they'll pick you
up and call your name up of injuries come up.
But like, yeah, you get you get drafted. You get
several months to kind of be deciding if you're committing
(12:24):
those rights or not. And you know that your training
camp kind of tryout and film and all that is gone.
You're either getting called up and have the name down
or you're not until next year. So this is the
perfect timing for it. I don't see any problem with it. Yeah, no,
I think this is great.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
Like I said, it really accomplishes the same thing as
you're doing last year. Other that except for making it
probably a little bit more likely than some of these
guys are going to give you a shot at least
when the draft is happening. Right so September second, like
you mentioned, Zach, the NFL, they're in season mode by
that point. Some guys, you know what, You're not all
(13:02):
of these guys are still going to sign with the UFL.
But I think we have a good baseline to look at.
So we had twenty three from last year. I wouldn't
be shocked if we match that or maybe even get
a little bit more this year with the change in
the direction in the timing. Plus then you still have
ample time before training camp starts. You know, we don't
know officially when it starts, but it'll be you know,
(13:23):
in the new year as well, especially as the season,
we don't know when the season is even going to start,
you know, where there's rumors is it going to start
earlier this and that. But still I don't think training
camp starts until twenty twenty six unless something really crazy happens.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
There, right and so also to add into this context,
the NFL's final cutdown to fifty three man rosters will
be at four pm Eastern August twenty sixth. So if
you put in that, you know right now the dates
September second is right now where the leating one is going.
So yeah, that gives you roughly a week to get
things in order and get kind of talk with the league,
(14:00):
get your agents together and sent in talk with the
PA reps, and kind of understand how that league operates.
If you are you know, not already talking with them
in the offseason, which I think a good agent if.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
They're doing their job right.
Speaker 4 (14:12):
You know, they'll analyze their own clients situation and RB
proactively kind of keeping those conversations ready to go if so.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
Need be so.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
Yeah, you get about a week to kind of prep
yourself and talk with coaches and maybe be ready in
case you do get like a practice squad call up
or something. But yeah, look for August twenty sixth to
kind of start seeing maybe you see some guys that
are more commits or whatnot, or guys that maybe put
their names in. I don't know, we'll find out, but
it should be more active this year, I feel like, cause, yeah,
(14:42):
your next option is the UFL and North America most
often than not, especially for American players with CFL international
restrictions and whatnot.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
For slots.
Speaker 3 (14:53):
Yep, yep, yep, yep.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Speaking of slots, I mean we have well we talked
about a little bit Monday. You weren't on the show Monday.
There have been even a couple since we spoke on
Monday of guys that have completed the transition, moved from
the UFL to the NFL, signed, got a deal, made
it and make it happen. I got will they make
the final roster? Hey, that's what the off season is
(15:14):
all about. But I figure we can touch Bayzak, So
you know, the first one up is one that we
we I guess teased on the show. Of course, as
we speculated. By the time the show went live, the
news was out, but sal Canela again heading out away
from the Renegades, this time landing a spot with the
Cleveland Browns. I got Spivey from my Roughnecks going to
(15:37):
the Chiefs. Jayden Price another Renegades guy, heading over to
the Saints. Here, yes, sir Durant going from the Defenders
to the Patriots, and Dresser Win heading back over to
the Rams for the offseason. You know what he got
the showbotes their first win this year, and that alone,
I think, you know what, get him over there, get
(15:59):
him over the name.
Speaker 4 (16:01):
It's just an extra and yeah, first quarterback off the
board to go back, which I mean, Win does have
connection to the Rams already, having kind of spells with
them in twenty three and twenty four, so you know,
definitely good that he's going to get back and get
some more reps and kind of get back in that
NFL scene.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
You know, guys talk.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
You know, you want to be able to kind of,
you know, show out, be at camp and even if
it's not the Rams, it could be somewhere else you
can go. So keep on getting those reps. I'll stay
out of the newly signed ones. By the way, congrats
to all of course, But some things I've noticed.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
First off, New.
Speaker 4 (16:35):
Orleans, you know, they're really building up and trying to
build some roster pieces via the UFL, which to be frank,
if you know the Saints, they're in kind of a
cap crunch and a rebuild, so you know, I think
they're one of the perfect teams to kind of take
advantage of this league because you're trying to find anybody
in anyone without having to bust over the bank.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
So this is a.
Speaker 4 (16:52):
Good league I think for them to go into and say, hey,
you know, we're trying to find the next great Saints team.
Kellen Moore, new head coach, there is looking for I
think some guys that are hungry, so good voice to
play it. They've already picked up three guys on this list.
We might start making a I've been curious if you
want to see we might make an NFL tracker on
how this goes as the season goes on. I'm waiting
(17:14):
until we get to like, honestly twenty. I think it
would be a great start and we'll go from there.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
But hey, real real quick, just to point out because
we talked about this a little bit on Monday, so
you know, the Saints, it's interesting that they have so
many picks there because they have especially from the retigates.
And I'll call out there is a little bit of
a tie in here. Randy Mueller is a professional advisor
over for the Saints. That's right. Rick Mueller is an
(17:39):
executive the what is the director or player personnel for
the Renegades. So you got that brotherly tie in there.
It's funny how these things all come together. Isn't that
funny how that works? But you know what, sign it up?
I think we talked about in the past, how I've
surmised or theorized that the and we always see the
(18:01):
Cowboys get at least one pick, usually they're the first
pick when it comes to the UFL. The NFL signings
is because I think that you know what, Darryl Johnston,
that name holds a little bit away in that Cowboys
locker room, and I'm sure the ownership is still a
little bit a happy, a little happy about his performance
(18:21):
in the nineties. And you know it, he's tied in
with Fox and that's only good for the Cowboys as well.
So anyway, it's funny to see those tie in. So
I just wanted to call that one out just because
you weren't here on Mondays when we were done.
Speaker 4 (18:34):
But I understand football is a game of who you know,
so I don't I don't think that's anything to slouch at.
You know, it's definitely something that's great for if you're
a pipelining of the NFL, and I think a lot
of players are going to get noticed, and I think
it's good to have someone who can talk into your
But hey, who impressed you over here at Arlington? You
know one of the guys I do think. I'm excited
(18:57):
to see what his chances are. Well, two of them
out of this recent list is First off, you see
Durant excellent year, breakout year, especially this year in the
UFL twenty twenty five All UFL Team two and did
a fantastic job protecting Jordan Taamu this season. I know
It's a tough competition for lineman out there, but you know,
(19:17):
I think that he can go in and I think
that they're looking for get some hungry guys over in
New England, so you know, not a bad spot to
go back to to try and prove it. I mean,
he was already there previously with the Patriots. Let's see
if he can do this again, so you know, maybe
this time gets a chance to stick. But best season
he's had so far shows growth and I hope that
(19:38):
that translates to getting a roster spot for him over
in New England with the Patriots and sow Canela once again.
We see him every year he gets a spot in camp.
Can he stick this time? He's really talented. He's an
excellent pass catching tight end. We all know this very
well by now. Can he stick the landing in Cleveland?
It's a tough battle, especially when Cleveland had likes of
(20:00):
like David and Joku being.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
Your starter, So you're not really competing for a starting job.
Speaker 4 (20:04):
You're trying to compete for the depth spot at a
position that has minimum depth at it. So we'll see
how it goes. But I'm also rooting for him as well.
Can he stick the landing this time, I hope. So
if not, we'll be back in the UFL. We'll find
out too, because as I tell people, we have stars
in this league. He is a star in this league
(20:24):
of the league can talk up, so one way or another,
I'm rooting for him to get something of good success
with this training camp.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
Absolutely absolutely.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
Now we can shift a little bit, Zach. So last
weekend there was no UFL. Many people around the world web,
they cried, they were sad, lots of tears hill until
they found out there was a chase for royalty, a
chase for the crown, the arena football one crown to
(20:56):
be exact. Now, Zach, I gotta say, I tuned into
these games, and I should have known betting against Sam
Castro Nova, because you know, I'm not a huge I'm
not like watching every one.
Speaker 3 (21:08):
Of these arena football games.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
But there's one one of the names that I know
is Castra Nova, and every time I watch, he's winning,
he's winning. And what did they do? I mean, it
was it was at the half you could say it
was close.
Speaker 4 (21:22):
It was close close enough, it was a close game
in half. Except we've talked about this and you can
go in from here. Uh, Solana had a chance to
capture momentum by getting a fourth and goal.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
Stop, and you brought up Sam.
Speaker 4 (21:38):
I mean, come on across the shoulders to be me
perfectly placed over two defenders to his man, Dwayne Brown.
Speaker 1 (21:45):
He didn't care. That was his number one guy all year.
Speaker 4 (21:47):
He said, I'm putting it up for you, and I'm
gonna put it where only you can catch it. Across
his body. By the way, the man's a beast. And
you know that kind of took the sales out out
of the liberty you had been. Really, I think leaning
on the underdog and kind of rally mentality just did
not help going into halftime, even if it was a
possession down, if you consider the deuce being a ten
(22:09):
point swing.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Didn't we we had what there was at least two
deuces in that game? Was there three us? I know
there was at least two.
Speaker 4 (22:19):
I'm gonna pull I'm gonna get the stats up to
double check, but yeah, Hail alone had two of them.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
I don't remember no having one.
Speaker 4 (22:28):
But I could be wrong, so I'll double check myself
on that.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
And so for the folks out there that are say,
what the deuce what's the deuce. It's Zach, correct me
if I'm wrong. It's so when you're punting the ball
away if you hit it between well.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
In the what is it the net? What do they
call it there?
Speaker 4 (22:44):
Well, it's there. There are rebound nets. But the way
the net structure is you've got two massive square netting
structures on the sides of your traditional field goal nets.
Those field goals are by the way less with than
the outdoor game as well.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
But what it is is when.
Speaker 4 (23:00):
You kick off from a possession, So say you score
and then you're kicking the opposing team, Well, you can
kick that from your goal line to the other side
of the field, and if you nail it between the uprights,
you get two points. And the opposing team starts at
the five yard line as their touchback. So the other
touchback would be would be farther up than that. But
(23:21):
I believe it's uh, I believe's that a ten Yeah,
it's ten yard line if if it's a regular touchback,
so you do get a five yard penalty for the
opposite team, and you get scoring of two points if
you land a deuce. And interesting, I'm actually I'm going
to keep looking because for some reason, the game cast
did not have the stats this week, so bear in
mind while I look for that. But meanwhile, though I
(23:44):
would say that, yeah, Albany just kind of, you know,
a little bit more in the tank. Sam is definitely
looking like to me he's gonna be the MVP, which
that's gonna be as we release this show tomorrow. All
those awards are gonna come out for the nominations, So yeah,
he's I mean, I've talked this up Stefan. There's guys
(24:05):
in Arena, and I know Arena doesn't always get a good,
a clear rap on the outdoor game with a lot
of coaches, but if there's one guy I got to
say that needs to be getting a look, and he
did go to an XFL camp in twenty three, it
is Sam Castro Nova and I really hope so because
I think it's now or never for the guy to
go and break out to get to the outdoor scene.
He's really talented, he can run. He's gotten much better
(24:28):
as the years have gone on, over the four years
in Arena throwing and kind of being an accurate passer
the times. Now, I really want to see someone like him,
you know, along with Jail and Morton get back up
to this and kind of see where they can land
with some of these teams that maybe are needing to
kind of experiment at the quarterback position a little bit.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Yeah, this is I would love to see him make
that transition come up to the UFL. It's one of
these guys. Again. Every year whenever we're traveling, either for
Springstock or Summerstock, we always have like an arena football
game on going behind this scenes as we're like moving
around whatever, and I don't know, every year he's in
one of these games, I'm like, Uh, he's just consistently good,
(25:07):
consistently good. And then on the flip side, so we
were we both of us were one and one last weekend.
I'm shocked. I even shocked myself. But you know, couldn't
let a good cat team go without rooting for it
in the playoffs. You know, I'm a Lions fan. I
grew up a fan of a Cat team, so I'll
support a fellow Cat team when I see one.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
Indeed I do with the Panthers.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
Some may say it's not very good luck when I
start rooting for your team, but nonetheless I rooted for
the Nashville Cats. What did they do? They clawed their
competition down. So now we have a battle because again
another one of these guys, Tyler Kolka, there's another one
of these guys who is just solid, solid, solid, solid.
But you know what they they they took control of
(25:51):
that game. This is gonna be this weekend, and for
anybody that doesn't know this game, this weekend early game too,
so you can like get it knocked out and then
go barbecue or go hang out with the family, do
whatever you need. It's one pm Eastern, right one pm
Eastern on Saturday. It's on Vice TV, or you can
get on Friendly. I think it'll be on Everest a
(26:12):
couple of days after, maybe a day after so Evergreen.
It should be Evergreen. Sorry, that's what they get for
not doing it live. If they said it they did
it live, I would have got their.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
Name right anyway, And.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
I'll mention it again. There is a free one week
trial at Friendly TV, so you can try that out.
Or if you have Ice TV, you already got it.
What I mean, Zach, you know more about this than anybody.
Speaker 4 (26:37):
Was just letting you kind of get all the info
out there. But yeah, it's yeah, I say one o'clock
for sure, wece TV. It's gonna be hosted in Albany,
New York. So if you are listening to be in
the Capitol region or you know, anywhere that's west of
New York City or even New York City, Hey, that's
not too far. It's maybe I'll be athlete. It's like
an hour and change at most drive up the way
(26:59):
to go to New York. But uh, that venue is
a lot of fun over at MVP Arena.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
Definitely recommend heading out.
Speaker 4 (27:07):
But speaking of the Cats, because I think that it
does the game is going to be intriguing for the
fact that Nashville does have a few things going forward.
First Tier Kolka when he's on, he's on been an
international prodigy of sorts, actually played in Japan before coming
over here to play with the Nashville Cats for legendary
coach Darren Arbett, four time ArenaBowl champion back in the
(27:30):
AFL days. And this roster has really been an excellent,
constructed veteran roster with some pieces that have been added
throughout the season. Colca didn't start the year as a
starting quarterback, and rakeem Cato, who was supposed to play
for the line up until he got knocked out a
concussion the week prior against the Storm before he's supposed
to go and play the Firebirds. He was the starting
(27:51):
QB for the Cats for a few games, and so
they brought Coca in. Colcha has been lighting things up. Honestly,
if he plays the whole season, I think he's in
competition for a least minimum offensive Player of the Year
for how he's been doing and keeping that Cats offense
on and in sync. So excellent stuff there. Now, the
thing is can this team avoid taking the quarter off?
(28:14):
Nashville is notorious by the way this year when they've
gotten all their pieces, when Kolka's come in, they always
take one quarter off. It seems like they can't score,
they can't get the offense going for a quarter, which
a team like Albany you just can't do that. There's
really no mistakes you can make against the Firebirds. And
if you look at the last time these two matched
up with Tyler Kolka and the current setup that they
(28:37):
have with their roster, they kind of did that in
the third quarter. It was a close game up until
the second half, and the third quarter they just completely
fell off the wagon and had nothing for Albany got
back in the fourth quarter they started trading blows again.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
But that's the thing.
Speaker 4 (28:49):
You can't take possessions off with the Firebirds. This is
an all star roster. It's arguably to me, the best
arena roster I've seen since I've been following the game.
So yeah, really no room for error coming up this weekend.
And you know, Nashville, they did a great job I
think as staving away what was an early rut against
(29:11):
the Southwest Kansas Storm. We talked with you know, Jaylen
Morton about them kind of getting out of their rut
against the Liberty and how that end of season kind
of two blown games went, and I'm sad to say
I think some of that did carry over because they
kind of stumbled how the Gate had some stops that
Nashville got four and outs on and they just trade
a blow for blow, couldn't get the ball back, and
(29:33):
eventually one thing Nashville did well, and this is kind
of ironic, Stefan, unlike the Storm the two weeks prior,
they actually ran out the clock and were able to
get for progress by running the ball, which a lot
of people criticized Gary Thomas's team for not doing that.
So it's kind of ironic that Nashville, with a veteran
coach and Darren oar Bet by the way, basically went
(29:54):
all right, handoff, run for a yard and all you
need is half a yard or some inches minimum and
the clock keeps running.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
And that's all they did.
Speaker 4 (30:01):
They took one time out away, sipped away the time
and it was kind of anti claimagic, but that's kind
of how it goes if you can't get that stop
in arena. So ironically, that's how Southwest Kansas lost, and
you know, it kind of shows the veteran, i think
older school arena coaching there that did prevail and kind
of understanding, Hey, you know, it's not bad sometimes in
a certain situation to run on the ground in the
(30:24):
sport that is designed usually to be through the air.
Speaker 3 (30:28):
Yep, yep.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
So we have one hell of a game on our
hands this weekend. You mentioned though, the Cats game last
week and compared to the other one closer game, but
if you watched it on TV, you might not think
it was as close of a game it did. The
score at the end was closer than maybe you would
expect if you watched it a halftime bit. But I
think we're gonna have a hell of a show. Like
(30:51):
you said, Zach, again, you probably know these teams a
little bit more than I do. I do. Look at Okay,
the Cats lost both times against the Firebirds earlier this season,
but none of that really matters to me. You know
what really matters to me, who would win in a
real life fight a cat or a bird? Because these
of the questions that people really want to know. Now,
(31:11):
somebody one of the podcasts, and I apologize it was
one of them, Astuteley pointed out that the Firebirds breathed fired.
I wasn't initially taking that into into the whole equation
because I'm like, well, a bird verse cat. So a
bird that breathes fire verse? Is it just any old cat? One,
it's a cat that walks on his hind legs too,
(31:33):
a comb.
Speaker 4 (31:33):
It's a cat with a guitar and a comb that
can play music, a.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
Guitar that you can use this weapon also a shield
fire shield comb I've seen. So we're talking. This is
not just any old cat. He's an alley cat. He
knows the streets, he knows he a little bit differently,
and now you know what I'm thinking, Zach west Side story.
So okay, the bird he has the sky, he has
(32:01):
the flame. But the Nashville cat boy, he's got the guitar.
So he's got a shield. And that comb that's not
any old comb. You click one button turns into a
switch point. Have you ever seen those zacs? You ever
see him? They flip open? Nobody saw it coming. But
he's a dirty old alley cat. And you know what,
another shield because he's an alley cat. He's got garbage
(32:24):
can lids hanging all around him. So it's like Skyrim rules,
just with a smaller sword and an alley cat that
knows the streets. Here's the thing. The bird he can fly,
but does he have opposable thumbs? And who conquered the world, Zach?
Beings with opposable thumbs, not birds. The dinosaurs are flying
(32:47):
all over the place. You know what happened? Oh he
got a little too cold or hot? I don't know.
That's what we're going. I'm taking the cat well, and
you know, before we got into the whole fire equation,
putty cat, the tweety bird. Who wins that? I mean,
who's the cat's eating the bird. I'm I'm in for that.
Speaker 4 (33:09):
We're facing a cat that's from the universe of swat cats.
The show's entertainer. You know, maybe he doesn't fight the
existential threats that happened in the city, but he's there.
Speaker 3 (33:23):
You don't see what's in his eyes like I do, Zach,
I see.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
I think, what's what's the Nashville Cats mascots name? What's
his name? The Fritz?
Speaker 4 (33:34):
No, I have to forget the name of the mascot.
Speaker 1 (33:38):
Hold on, we gotta do this man some dust Nashville
Cats mascot name. We're gonna find this cool catt. He's
the coolest cat, dude. I'm saying the cool cat is
gonna win that battle because he's cool. The bird you
(33:59):
could swoop around, you can, he's got He's a two
trick pony. The bird, I mean the cat. You fly
and he can breathe fire the bird. Well, I can't
believe I haven't brought this up. How many lives does
a bird have?
Speaker 3 (34:11):
One?
Speaker 1 (34:12):
How many lives does a cat have? Nine? Boom? There
you go. He could throw a couple of those away.
And he's a cool cat, so he might even have
an extra one or two in there, turn it up
to eleven if you will, I rest my case. I'm
taking a cool cat. I'm gonna I'm gonna note your case.
Speaker 4 (34:32):
I don't know if of to play this, to play
the game here of the mascots, I just think you
just gonna keep burning it to a crisp. My thought
is the bird. You just burn the cat once and
it regenerates the every time. You just spam fire. Just
sit there, Regent, Oh my god, I'm melting, Regen, Regen, Regen.
Speaker 1 (34:52):
And I think the cat's intelligence not because it's not.
The bird is just a bird that breathes fighters. The
cat has evolved to gain a post.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
Thumbs and speech.
Speaker 4 (35:01):
But how can it be intelligent if it's just gonna
be burned alive every time it revives?
Speaker 3 (35:05):
There?
Speaker 1 (35:06):
Because just like a human, it would have the foresight
to use a shield or duck or get behind a
building where's the birds?
Speaker 3 (35:13):
Just like.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
That's all it knows.
Speaker 3 (35:17):
The cat's like, no, no, no, I'm cool.
Speaker 1 (35:20):
And then it gets into a car and drives away
where the birds like I can't catch up while the fights,
well he gets well, you can run. There's a whole
world zach Wity. In real world battle, We're not talking
like in a video game where you're in an enclosed arena.
In a real world battle, this wars don't let Sometimes
(35:40):
wars last years. This could be a multi year battle
where the cool cat, although has to go into hiding
many times, survives. Where's that bird? He's flying around? His
wings are getting tired. He's gonna have to take a
break one of these days, That's what cool Cat's thinking.
And when he does, you know what he's gonna do.
He's gonna pull out his comb, brush his hair back,
(36:01):
flip it open. He said, that's right, I'm a cool cat.
He's probably gonna go sip a.
Speaker 4 (36:06):
Butd wise, take a break high up on the Sears tower.
And then by the time you waste all that time
getting up there, it's like I'm already refreshed, burn alive.
Speaker 1 (36:17):
Honey, the cool.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
Cat here can swim? Oh one under shield?
Speaker 1 (36:26):
Come and get me bird, Come and get me. Sure
he can't fly around like that forever? And when he does,
he pulls out the comb, brushes the hair back. Sure,
you can't mean you can't swim forever? How do you
know we can't swim forever as humans. Yeah, but we're not.
(36:46):
We're not. Cats can't get waste a couple of lives
in the ocean. Yeah, but here's the thing. He probably
swim two days without dying, two days, one life worth it.
Bird's gotta get gonna keep coming. Throw on those flames.
Speaker 3 (37:01):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (37:02):
Cat's resilient. It could fit into like really tiny crevices.
My cat did it, does it all the time. I'm like,
where do you go? You can throw fire in at
all you want the crevice. You just burn the building
down and building what about a mountain. You can't burn
a mountain down. It can't fly around like that all day.
Speaker 3 (37:22):
And when he does.
Speaker 1 (37:26):
This thing, at some point, it's not gonna go away never.
Speaker 3 (37:29):
There's no time limits on it exactly.
Speaker 1 (37:31):
So it's not the birds run away. Technically, how long
does a bird live and so how long does a
cat live? Times nine? I think we have firebirds or phoenixes.
Even if they die, they revive. You know, it goes,
(37:52):
is it or is it like a crappy pontiac? Hold on,
it is a firebird, because now we're like, all you
need to do is go like one hundred thousand miles
and then that bird's out of gas.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
Done. You're never gonna repair that thing again.
Speaker 1 (38:07):
Do you think the mascot's representing the car? And No,
a firebird is not a phoenix, although both are mythical
fiery birds from folklore. The phoenix is a creature of
Greek and Egyptian mythology, known for its cyclical rebirth from ashes,
symbolizing renewal animal mortality. In contrast, the firebird is a
(38:32):
creature from Slavic folklore, often depicted as a large bird
with fiery red and gold plumage, and it lives its
entire life aflame well. Both are associated with fire and rebirth,
the origins of blah blah blah blah blah. Okay ken
a firebird also okay bird come back from the dead,
(38:58):
because if it can. My next quhion is how many times? Well,
it's so okay interesting, zach I said, can a firebird
come back from the dead? First response, should general motors
bring back the fire firebird? So maybe it is named
after uh No, I don't know if we're gonna come
(39:20):
to terms on this one. I'm still taking the cool cat.
Speaker 4 (39:23):
I'm gonna I'll stick with Albany I can't bet against Albany.
It's an all star roster. Outside of discussions on whether
the Firebird can regen or not.
Speaker 1 (39:34):
And I was gonna say, in real life or just
the mascot discussion.
Speaker 4 (39:38):
I am both. I fully believe it. It would take
out a cat with a leather jacket. He's got a calm,
he's got it's gonna stop from fire, and a guitar.
Speaker 1 (39:58):
Small crevices the guitar it's on. Fire melts, the comb melts.
Speaker 3 (40:04):
It's yeah. Well, when it comes to the game, though,
you still think the Albany.
Speaker 1 (40:12):
They're gonna go undefeated. You think they're just.
Speaker 3 (40:14):
Gonna go Have they won Arena?
Speaker 1 (40:17):
Have they? This probably happens more often than I'm saying,
Did they go undefeated and win championships?
Speaker 4 (40:22):
Often the NFL, It's there's regular enough instances. Now, I
will say the last one of the last times I've
seen that happen where you have an undefeated team go
in and lose the championship is the Ifl's had with
Arizona a few times. So it's not impossible, like I'll
be Frank, Nashville still has a good roster to take
(40:44):
on Albany. I just don't know if they can play
all four quarters lights out and get the stops they need.
And here's a great example last week that I think
how hard this is. So last week Albany they play
a game where they basically go for and fourth down.
They're about touchdowns. Every place should be at first down
(41:04):
or touchdown and touchdowns trump field goals. That's how they play.
Usually it's the dam and ware offense for the most part.
Speaker 1 (41:12):
Beg.
Speaker 4 (41:12):
Salina gets a stop second quarter, key stop, by the way,
one that could have helped kind of flip the possessions
more in their favor. Four and out immediately, like right
back at it. Albany's defense, which is that good, steps
up to the challenge, gets a four and out and
Salina slips on basically the penalty banana peal twice and
(41:33):
backs up from being inside Albany's ten to midfield. You know,
it's just how this cookie crumbles. You have to play
all four quarters lights out football. I haven't seen Nashville
do it. They were close one time at home against
Albany pre Tyler Kolka, and they couldn't get the job done.
Then they actually lost out on getting the job done
(41:55):
by getting stopped in a four and out in the
mid fourth quarter.
Speaker 1 (41:59):
And I don't know if they can do it.
Speaker 4 (42:00):
Maybe Darren who again, Darren our Bett is one of
the greatest coaches that's ever been in this sport. Maybe
there's something he can see there and maybe they're able
to wild their way to all four quarters and doing
a complete game. But until I see that, I'm gonna
have to trust Albany. It's an all star roster. Every
position on this team either has UFL guys, key players
(42:24):
from like top x NAL and IFL talents all over
the board. Like this is the most stacked roster I
have seen in this sport since I've been following this sport.
It would be probably the biggest upset I've seen, just
to put it lately. Oh good, because I like a
good upset. I love a good upset. I like a
(42:44):
good sneaky upset. And that's that alone. I gotta go
for it.
Speaker 1 (42:48):
Plus our bet. If it's like the Dresser winning situation,
why we didn't pick them to win when he came
in that game, We're silly. Our bet I got a
bet on him plus nine lives. Yeah, if there's any
time to choke.
Speaker 3 (43:03):
It's now.
Speaker 1 (43:04):
I think of the New England Patriots. Everybody thought, Oh,
there's no way the Giants are gonna beat them, and
I said, no, no, no, I'm picking the Giants because
you're not gonna go undefeated. Different game and Arena. I
get it, but you know what, I'm sticking to my guns.
I'm still kicking myself for not picking the DC Defenders
after everybody picked the Panthers. Even then, I was like, Ah,
everybody's picking them, as she does. Go for the upset.
(43:26):
It's an upset kind of year. Baby, I'm going Nashville cast. Plus,
I love a good Cat team. I don't be mad
at me. If the Cats lose, that's on them. That's
not because I'm bad luck. But I'm picking them anyways.
So they're gonna win nine lives.
Speaker 4 (43:42):
I think any Cats fan I've talked to you, they
basically say, we got nothing to lose.
Speaker 1 (43:45):
We know how good an Albany is.
Speaker 4 (43:48):
It's yeah, it's the best fifty yard team currently in
the entire seat. I'm just gonna I'm not gonna sugarcoat
that you got again. When you got guys from all
different categories of like how the play style is and
all that have been the best of the biz. Damon
Ware has been one of the best in this scene
for some time now too.
Speaker 1 (44:10):
I don't.
Speaker 4 (44:11):
I mean, you just gotta play perfect, that's it. You
have to play lights out and you cannot slip up
when you're given opportunities to get ahead because this team
will not give you much chance to get a possession
on you, is all, which that's the deal. Possession battle
and arena super big. If you have any free possessions,
four and outs turnovers, you gotta score. You gotta get points.
(44:33):
If you don't get anything from a possession, you've wasted
your opportunity. That's the thing, and I think that's the message.
Is that what our bet is saying this week is like, look,
we have to play our most complete game. We have
a veteran roster that has pretty is a pretty damn
good defense in the secondary and can get pressure. But
we just got to play smart. We gotta play dicipine
in an offense. We've got to keep on assignment. If
(44:56):
you lose any possessions, this game's over.
Speaker 1 (44:58):
To me. It's that simple.
Speaker 4 (45:00):
You really can't slip up or you have to find
a way to trade one off which is so damn
hard with this offense. And they're playing and remember Albany's
playing at home, so this is not a neutral site game.
This is gonna be Albany home crowd as well. A
lot of cards stacked and stacked for Albany. Can they
finish the job?
Speaker 1 (45:19):
Speaking of being a home crowd too, it would be
silly of us not to mention they're doing an indoor
block party, yes, two hours before the game as well,
So if you're going out to the game, get out
there a little bit early. They're gonna have vendors, they're
gonna have music, they're gonna have food, they're gonna have
the Flames dance team. They're gonna have spiked the fire
Bird so sweet.
Speaker 3 (45:36):
Anybody wanted to know the name of the other one?
Speaker 1 (45:37):
There you go. Mike's great. By the way, better hope
that cool cat doesn't show up. But there's gonna be
a fight. I'll it'll be like that family guy fight.
You know, you know the what I'm talking about. With
the bird. You never know. They might he might, he
may not. I mean, this is a celebration of the league.
Speaker 4 (45:53):
It's also, by the way, as we're talking, as this
drops today. I believe also the first like true league
meetings at the start of next year, end of season,
beginning of season. As was talked on the broadcast for
the Nashville Cats in Southwest Kansas Storm, there should be
some announcements during the Crown. They are also listening to
(46:18):
proposals for expansion teams and the like during these league meetings,
so we might get some fun goodies at halftime kind
of saying what's coming up for next year. Because one
thing they're doing different for those to follow the league.
You and I definitely did where you know, there were
some there were some things and I think missteps made
(46:38):
this year on kind of team selection and kind of
who to vet and who to kind of say you're
done or not done getting your team ready. Gary Compton,
who's a director of director of player personnel, he has
stated that they're looking September is a hard cut this year,
so basically we'll know the teams in the league by
(46:59):
basically the end of the summer. No long wait this
year or anything. It's you're either enter or not. Is
that simple?
Speaker 1 (47:07):
Very nice? So another thing to look forward to when
you tune into the game this Saturday one pm Eastern
over on Vice or Friendly TV. One other thing, Zach,
and I'm hoping you know the answer to this you
might not.
Speaker 3 (47:22):
Have we got is there a crown?
Speaker 1 (47:23):
Have we figured out if there's a real crown a trophy? Fine,
the trophy better have a crown that comes off of
it and onto the player's head. And instead of and
if anyone's listening, instead of an MVP, pick a king,
the king of the championship game, the Garita crown.
Speaker 3 (47:44):
He put the crown on his head. I had him up.
Speaker 4 (47:46):
Would love if they leaned into that. I don't know
if they will lean into that. There's a There's been
some grainy footage in one of their promo videos showing
off the championship trophy. It's not a crown if that's
the one there's if that is the one they're rolling with.
By the way, but again I should state this in
knowing that the folks I talk to you will maybe
(48:06):
listening to this. I'm not sure if they do have
that plan, by the way, I haven't like confirmed that.
Speaker 1 (48:12):
What I do know is that they've highlighted a trophy.
Speaker 4 (48:15):
That's kind of like this, like it's a football at
the top of like a spiral kind of like uh
support going down to a base. So we'll see maybe
there'll be a crown, you know what, I mean, there's a.
Speaker 1 (48:27):
Lot here next year. If there's not one this year,
there better be one next year.
Speaker 4 (48:30):
I'll the make like the amount of people that have
suggested Burger King needs to be a sponsor.
Speaker 1 (48:35):
I mean, it's right in the name.
Speaker 3 (48:37):
It'd be perfect, I got.
Speaker 1 (48:39):
I mean, you know what, depending on how this hot
sauce deal goes, maybe.
Speaker 3 (48:42):
Next year it'll be.
Speaker 1 (48:45):
Me and hull Cogan. It'll be hul Cogan's real American
beer and Ref's tech sauce made in America. I'm sure
if it takes off they put it in your mouth,
they would gladly give you a place.
Speaker 3 (48:58):
It's a sponsor.
Speaker 1 (49:00):
I want to know how much how much do I
have to pay to get a sponsorship on the field
or in one of those banner forms, because ill.
Speaker 4 (49:10):
For like a local market, that wouldn't be as bad
national deal. You're definitely gonna be paying more. You know,
you're still paying some thousands of dollars mark to get
something like a full full banner. If you're doing a
field one, it's even more because that thing's always there
on camera, so just keep that in mind. But fun thing,
(49:33):
I know teams sell those packages. You can double up
if you want, you can upgrade if you want. So.
Speaker 1 (49:38):
Uh well, I saw that guy that had the silly
can of some drink. It was a sponsor. I'm like,
you know what, that could be my sauce. I can't
remember what game it was. It was one of these
guys he had a oh, it was af it was
it was AF Energy or something al They had hard
a f Seltzer.
Speaker 4 (49:58):
That was the spots for the title game, which you.
Speaker 1 (50:03):
Know, I've looked up. We looked up down.
Speaker 4 (50:04):
They they're not too big, but they're kind of up.
Speaker 1 (50:08):
Up and comer ish.
Speaker 3 (50:10):
So you know, it could be my sauce. Hey, I'm
just saying you can.
Speaker 4 (50:14):
You can be the sponsor of one of these games.
Speaker 1 (50:16):
And I'll tell you this, if you like hot sauce,
This sauce that we're going to be putting out, it's
the best hot sauce. There's no hot sauce like it
on the market.
Speaker 3 (50:24):
It's good.
Speaker 1 (50:26):
This is the catchphrase I can't wait too my marketing jarget.
It's good.
Speaker 4 (50:30):
I can't wait to taste test this on show and
put it in my mouth.
Speaker 1 (50:34):
Good and you know what you're gonna say, this is
the best sauce I've ever had. I've never had a
sauce as good as this sauce. M. This is some
good sauce, no dump. Yeah dude, just imagine if that's
the thing that makes me a thousand are a thousand?
Oh I made it, baby, We're selling sauce.
Speaker 4 (50:57):
I'm buying that golf cart battery.
Speaker 1 (51:00):
Hell yeah, dude, just imagine. I'm just thinking that. I'm
thinking beyond the sale. If the hot sauce works boom,
We're going into the barbecue market ship. If I can
get a green sauce, if I can figure out how
to do a good green sauce, MARINERA, M. That's a
spicy getting on that sauce. I don't know why the sauce.
Speaker 3 (51:26):
Thing jumped to me, but it did. Something that's weird.
Speaker 1 (51:29):
I grab on to certain things, and even if it's
a linimative run, I can always say I put.
Speaker 3 (51:34):
Out a hot sauce something to look forward to.
Speaker 1 (51:39):
If anything, I'm sure Reugh Sauce will be a proud
sponsor of the show, so I'm sure you'll.
Speaker 3 (51:44):
Hear about it.
Speaker 4 (51:47):
This company is going to help us a ton with
the accelerating our growth.
Speaker 1 (51:53):
Put the PFN logo on the label, though, did you yep?
Speaker 3 (51:58):
Why not? I mean, I want to sell some sauce.
Come up, synergy.
Speaker 4 (52:03):
It's gonna be a yes industry's product.
Speaker 1 (52:04):
Is that what I'm I don't know what the name
of this company will be. It might just be Reugh Sauce.
Speaker 3 (52:12):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (52:13):
We'll see, we'll see where it lands, see where we
gotta see if anybody buys any of these bottles of sauce.
I think I'm at least gonna do a limited ten
bottle run just to see one, just because I want
one for myself, and I'll give them away.
Speaker 3 (52:28):
Who knows, Maybe that'll be a given.
Speaker 4 (52:32):
See which one gets the most traction back and then
I don't know, I mean, yeah, that's my thought.
Speaker 3 (52:38):
We'll get there.
Speaker 1 (52:39):
We'll get there, so keep an air keeping her out.
There might be some sauce on the way. It'll be
a ten dollars sauce probably, But you know what, if
you want to help test out the sauce, that's what
it's gonna cost. That's what they say, and it rhymes
it must be true. Uh but you know what, if
we're talking about sauce, that means we probably ran out
of things to talk about. Uh, so you know what,
(53:03):
we'll recap. Here's the things you need to do at
UFL podcast, at the ref Says at Zach Common, at
UFL newsroom, at all the things go follow us at
all the social media places.
Speaker 3 (53:14):
If you're ever on.
Speaker 1 (53:14):
YouTube, subscribe click the ball. It builds morale. It also
lets you know when new videos drop when we're live,
just like Mondays with around the UFL. And like I said,
when videos drop just like this one, you'll be the
you'll be the first to know. And you know what,
I'm sure we'll drop a sauce promo. Another thing we
do need to do in the off season, Zach, is
because we've been talking about it for years, we need
(53:35):
to get on and play some Portal two multiplayer. I
love Portal two. I've never played the multiplayer because I
have no friends. But you know what, you're my friend
and you play portals, so we might as well do
the damn having a friend, so you know what, Yeah,
so we'll do that at some point. Plus, I think
Ducky said he was putting together UFL Jeopardy, and so
(53:58):
that might be fun for us to like get up
and do that. I guess he'll be the Alex Trebek
or who is even the host Ryan Seacrest.
Speaker 4 (54:07):
Now I have no just like Ducky, who does host
Sheeopardy anymore?
Speaker 1 (54:13):
Yeah, I don't know, but stay tuned. We're going out
all sorts of things planned for the offseason. Even if
there's not news, we'll have something going on. We might
not do shows every week. I got a feeling Zachie
and I are probably gonna take a week off next
week at least from this show, because I mean, the
NFL is on vacation, zach So, I don't anticipate there's
gonna be any more signings at least in this short
(54:34):
term period. And I don't know if there's going to
be any news, but who knows. Maybe we'll be playing
portal or doing something completely different. But this is why
you subscribe and click the bell and do all the things.
Ay we talked about af one. They also have UFL
merch check the link down below for royal retros. You'll
get ten percent off. But did you see we'll end
(54:55):
it off with this. Did you see the sweet af
One playoff merchandise that they have. They got like shirts, hats,
and team gear. They even have like legit jerseys if
you want a Cat's jersey. I think they have the
both home and the retro.
Speaker 4 (55:07):
By the way, so there's a patch for the championship,
so that's what you get with that too.
Speaker 1 (55:12):
Yeah, I want this shirt. They have the championship shirt. Now,
I think they only have it in like this gray color.
Really I'm not I don't wear light colored shirts a
lot because I'm a sloppy eater zach, and so yeah,
they only have white or gray. The gray might work.
Speaker 4 (55:31):
But I really wish they had like blackness where you
challenge yourself. You get the white shirt and you use
it as practice.
Speaker 1 (55:39):
I've done it, and I get to show you all
the ones that I've practiced poorly on. But you know what,
I might pick up one of these damn Cats jerseys,
especially if I can get it with the patch on it.
So they only have the white jersey though, Oh you
stinky stinkers. Yeah that's goodness. Its kind of their main one.
Speaker 4 (55:58):
They do like it's all black in real life too,
But I think I think white's kind of the primary
for them, and it's also the one they're gonna be rapping,
by the way, in the crown. Something I did get
confirmed when we were talking with our crew on the
side is a Cats will be wearing the white with
the blues and I believe black pants, and then the
Firebirds will have the burnt orange, which my favorite personally
(56:22):
with the black pants on.
Speaker 1 (56:25):
So and just even if call this out too, one
thing that's pretty sweet about Royal Retro so you can
get custom You can get any name and number on
the jersey. So if you want one of the players, sweet,
you want your own name, sign you up. So like me,
I'm probably gonna get a ref one now I am
gonna double check for you.
Speaker 4 (56:41):
So yeah, it's definitely the if you go far to
down the list, and is the last thing I'll say,
and then we wrap it up. You can't get a
Cat's black jersey and maybe he doesn't have the champion
I could probably add, I mean you could definitely probably
DM and see if you can get a patch and
then like get it on there if you want the
patch that bad. But yeah, they're the only reason that
it's only one selection is uh, because those are the
(57:04):
championship outfits. So yeah, that's what you're gonna get to
see comes Saturday afternoon. And they do have some cool
shirts on here though. They do have some cool stuff.
Speaker 1 (57:14):
So hey, if you're in the if you're looking out
for some new merch, like I said, they have that.
Plus they have you official UFL gear that it's better
quality than what you're getting in the UFL shop.
Speaker 3 (57:25):
Let's just be frank here.
Speaker 1 (57:26):
It's stitched, it's good, it's custom. You can get any name, uh,
and so a lot of it's the retro stuff so
you can get but if you like the roughnecks, like
the old Roughnecks jerseys, they got those and they're nice
and they're stitched and they got the whole thing and
there's all sorts of leagues in there.
Speaker 3 (57:41):
So anyway, I'll leave it at that.
Speaker 1 (57:43):
Uh yeah, I think that's about it. So until next time, guys,
sign you up
