Speaker 1 (00:00):
The UFL's testing new innovations. Danny Garcia speaks on training camp,
all that and more on episode ninety.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Seven of the UFL Podcast.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
One till Three. Welcome back, everybody to another amazing edition

(00:41):
of d UFL podcast. I'm the representing Pro Football newsroom,
the leaders in spring football news, and boy oh boy,
oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Boy, do we got a big week for you.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
But before we get started, I'm joined as always by
my man, Zach Kyle.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Man. How you doing today, my friends? Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:05):
You know, I'm actually I'm kind of intrigued more today
about what we get to talk about because kind of
surprised me a little bit. But I love the deep
diving type of stuff. So you know, let me say
I'm curious today. I'm very curious. I'm very investigative.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
It's gonna be fun.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
I think there's some unique things that came out this
week that we'll get to talk about that are kind
of some tech stuff that you and I like to
discuss from time to time that I want to get
my hands dirty on checking out.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
One hundred percent.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Well, and the thing is is, you know, I was
griping about this a couple of weeks ago with the
social posts the best thing about spring football is played
in the spring. No, no, no, I'm One of those
things I mentioned was innovations, and that's what we're gonna
be talking about this week, along with some other things.
So we actually got a funny group of things to
talk about that aren't purely just union talk. And even

(01:56):
when it is union talk, you'll see where we go
with that. But before we jump into that, you know
the drill. If you ever on YouTube, subscribe, click the bell.
It builds morel and also lets you go no. When
we go live just like Monday nights with around the UFL,
just like we will be for Springstock for March twenty eighth,
live in Houston, home of the Swing for UFL kickoff

(02:20):
where the Houston Roughnecks are about to start their twelve.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
And oh journey.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
We want you to join us the parties in the
parking lot. If you're near Houston, come and join us.
Come out there, Come grab a dog. Zach I just
bought that portable grill. We're gonna grab some dogs. We're
gonna grab some buns. We're gonna grab some condiments. We'll
get some chips, We'll get some pop. We'll get some
other stuff as well. So come and join us because
it is a tailgate. This is a tailgate and a
live stream. And so again, if you can't make us,

(02:47):
make sure can't make it, make sure you subscribe because
we're gonna.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Be live on YouTube as well.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
It's gonna be probably more similar to how we did
Summer Stock last year.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
But yeah, I think we've ironed out the kinks.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
We've got the technology to make it go a little
bit smoother.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
We got Ducky's gonna be in the house.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
We've got James Baker, which, if you don't know, he
runs UFL Highlights. He's gonna be in the house. Some
folks from our discord, they're gonna be in the house.
Which if you're not in the discord, you should go
click the link below.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Join the discord.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Come join the party, because then you can hang out
with the people that are gonna be at Springstock for
for when you inevitably come to Springstock for because the
party's in the parking lot.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
March twenty eighth, Get live.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
It's gonna be fun, It's gonna be cive and near
in prime time, is what I like to say. And
we're gonna have it definitely knocked out of the park
second year setting up at ref HQs.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
So I think the process is locked down. Last year
we got a lot of it sorted.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
I think it's just gonna get much smoother. Always get
smoother every year, usually get smooth.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
We're gonna do it. We're gonna do things in reverse too,
so we're gonna be in Houston first and then Arlington. Yes,
so we're going to do things.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
We got to figure out the timing on that, but
we'll talk about that often. But yeah, either way, it's
coming up.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
We're going to be having fun. We hope you join us.
Make sure you subscribed.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Social media at UFL podcast, at around the UFL, at
PF newsroom, at UFL newsroom, at all the things, just
the things at them, go join them, go follow them, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram,
all the things threads. Just think of the stupid UFL
Daily post. Where in have you seen this UFL daily account?

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Yes, I have seen this account. It is you know what.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
I I thought we were the leaders in spring football
news and maybe a new leader in town.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
They got and so this is a parody account for
anybody that does it. A riot as well.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
They had a post the other day about it was
from Destroying with a screenshot of the CBA and in
there there was like a list of a requirements and
there was a few that were funny. One was he
had to follow the rock on all social media and
it's at like Twitter, Instagram and threads.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
The one though, that I really think that didn't get
enough credit or much notice from people that were calling
out all the details in this thing was there was
a line in there that the air conditioning in their
hotel rooms had to be set above seventy two degrees.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
That's just so funny to me. I lost it when
I read the part that lunch will only be chicken salad.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
Yes, and then like later like it's one of those
it's cool, it's great social content. I was like, holy crap,
that's intricate. Somebody put all this stuff in because even
like the second tab on the screen says how it
says how to tackle.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Uh, it's so good.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
So yeah, again, if anybody is hoping for like an
NBA sentel for the UFL, it's good daily is it?

Speaker 2 (06:01):
I think it just came up like this week. I
don't know.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
It's pretty new it's getting it's getting a lot of engagement.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
That's the one thing I look at him, like, what people.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Love fake news. People don't care about the real dues.
People love the fake news.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
Uh, not so good.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Haring is a c L because he saw coach wizn't
hunt with a donut.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
It's just so stupid. It's so stupid. But if you
need a little bit of humor in.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
Your life and you don't want to be a doomer,
because you shouldn't be a doomer, go follow that count
as well because it is humorous. And if you follow it,
you might not get daily at least if you're you're
in at it all.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
No people do.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
The comments are pretty funny, and the comments are pretty funny.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
We got players jumping in and someone don't know what
it is. That's what's even funnier to me. It's just like,
what is this?

Speaker 1 (06:57):
You missed this sect? So on around the on the UFL,
I always said around the eight to you again. Around
the UFL, Boogie mentioned it's his favorite new account. So
on both sides of the spectrum, you have players that
don't know what it is that are like responding to it.
You have players that have figured out what it is
that are also fans of it, And I mean that's.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Isn't that what social media is all about.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
I loved I loved the Spring Football community for things
like this.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
It's not just the news.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Remember when I said, Deck, if you want to create
a podcast, a social account, whatever it is, do it.
And this is just one of those funny things that
somebody out there has created and maybe one day we'll
find out who it is. You have an invite to
spring Stock, you have an invite to Summerstock. You have
an invite to any of our shows. If you've heard

(07:46):
any of the things needs to us, So sign you up.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
I feel bad for missing that show, by the way,
but I also was celebrating my dirty thirty.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
Yes we didn't talk about that last weight.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
No.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
I also am terrible at telling people my birthdays, So
you know, I got a preface that that you asking
later on the discord, what the hell, man, you didn't
let me know? It's like, yeah, yeah, but no, that
was what I was doing on Monday. I had a
bunch of buddies from work at a great time on
out there, and uh yeah, it's funny because like somehow
I have missed Jared twice on ATU and I had

(08:18):
to specifies, like, I'm not dodging you.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
It just one of those things that keeps happening. I
told him you were I thought he couldn't face the music.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
He doesn't want.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
You know, I said, he knows what's gonna happen this year.
You guys are gonna trounce his team, and quite frank
I didn't say this, but quite frankly, Zach, I should
have said, you'd be holding back your tears, but I didn't.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
Oh wow, I should have said that, though, I mean
I've said I've said it, quite frankly, I wish I
could have said.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
It to him. He's he's he keeps on finding ways
to solve the puzzle, and my team doesn't know how
to get past his defense. So, uh, you know, balls
and balls in my court and more and more likely
Mike Nolan's court, and uh uh you know everyone out
there to find a way to get things done. We'll
see how that goes. Crazy.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Part is we're only two weeks away's Yachi boy.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
Actually, I'm shocked that were this close.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
I checked my calendar the other day and I was like, yeah,
it's kind of getting real like season really is right
around the corner and getting my flight. The Houston's getting
around the corner.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
So time go time. I can't wait again, BUCkies barbecue.
I gotta get that. I do need I have to
I have chores on my end that I need to do.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
I need to refill the batteries in my golf cart,
which I'm gonna do.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Y gotta do it.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
I gotta do that. I just want to make sure
I don't blow myself up. But I don't think it's hard.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
You just throw some water in them, right, distilled water.
You just in there. You're good to go. I think
you just have to keep it like a certain level
above that.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
But my luck is I'm gonna do it completely wrong,
plug it in and it'll be like a cartoon where
I'll turn into a skeleton for a few moments and
my hair will be anyway.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Anyway, let's get to the news.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
Yes, please do before I start talking about Christmas vacation,
because that's what I'm all I'm hearing.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Is that's exactly what i was thinking. That's exactly what
I was thinking. Yeah, well, so we'll we'll.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Go with the rundown style because I was gonna say,
do you wanna Actually, I'll ask you, do you want
to do the ESPN can get it out of the
way so we can talk about the fun tech stuff
for long.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Yeah, let's get away because I think that I don't
want to I don't want to laugh at this story
because I don't want.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
It to be mean.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
But I think that there might be some misinterpretations out
there now. It is interesting that ESPN seems to be
at the ready at the helm to put out any
union related story that could be perceived in a negative tone,
and that seems odd to me, considering ESPN is one

(10:51):
of their broadcast partners. I'm from a journalistic perspective, I
understand it, But at the same time, I still don't understand.
There are positive things happening in the league, and so
they could also they could also be talking about those,
one of which we'll be talking about a little bit
later innovation side. Uh, but you know, it's training camp sact.

(11:13):
What was the thing that I mentioned on last week's show.
We're about to see some cuts, some of which people
are going to scratch their heads, some of which are
gonna say I saw that one coming. There's gonna be
all sorts of discussions that are gonna come out of cuts,
out of training camp. The one situation that I guess
I didn't account for or anticipate is that it might

(11:36):
be coming from the well I hesitate to say players,
but at least in this case, a certain particular player
from their perspective. And so you know, when you kind
of jam those two things together, I guess this is
what you get. You get a story from ESPN that
states Dormandy, Dormdy Dormandy. I guess depending on the publication

(11:58):
that you ask Darmody, did I feel bad for the guy?
Because no, they're all they're all spelling his name wrong.
They're all getting it wrong in different ways.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
But Dody or he got to mister Roboti, so he
was cut from the showboats, and the headline states thinks
it's union related. So these are not my words, this
is ESPN's words. This is ESPN. Yeah, keep it.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
And so article starts with a quote I think that
was the driving factor from Quintin himself. They trade me
to come in and to compete, to be in shape,
and then I get five practices to show that I'm
basically not good enough to be on their team, and
he states just seems fishy. Now, I don't know. I

(12:42):
don't know, Zach. It's a tough one. I don't want
to say definitively either way, because maybe there is, but
I would say, right, I think the big hubbub was
around if you skip media day, you can get cut.
And then even Darryl Johnston came out and clarified on that,
that said, look, it could lead to reprimand it could
lead to cut depending on what the situation. But I

(13:03):
believe Dormandy. Dormandy was at media Day media Day, so
again I could see that if he if he didn't
go to media Day and he was cut, I'm kind
of with them. I'd say, oh, you know what, you know,
one and one goes together, and you're probably right. If
there was a rumor and then the thing happened, there's

(13:24):
probably a little bit of smoke where there's fire that
maybe that's kid.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
But he was at media Day, he was there, right,
And I.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
Think that this is a cut more so the fact
that you get again, look at look at the quarterback room. Now,
I know he brings up he was traded to this team.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
He was traded to Memphis to compete but let's let's
not forget like they when they traded for e J. Perry.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
I think this threw the entire situation into him into
a curve ball because one of these guys was going
to get screwed over Troy Williams for you know, being
on a roster last year and kind of scrambling for
his life. He's got a lot of people that respect him.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
It seems like over.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
There, even with the new staff and e J. Perry,
it seems like his stock has just continued to rise
ever since he has been joined up. Like I seems
like we hear nothing but praise with like his potential
over in Memphis. So, I mean, it was gonna be tough.
And I know you can read this this column by
by Cyber by Kevin Sabert, and you know, talks about how, yes,

(14:26):
it was windy at practice, and you know, Quentin felt
like that some of the opportunities were messed up because
the weather, and you can't control the weather. And you know,
five weeks is or five practice sessions isn't a lot,
you know, but also it's kind of you kind of
have to move, you know. I mean when he had
three qbs in the room like that. You know, it's
kind of hard to pick. And I don't know if

(14:48):
it was just that they wanted to see a different
look or maybe And this is the other part we
don't get in this article. How good was Troy and
EJ looking?

Speaker 2 (14:55):
You know?

Speaker 3 (14:56):
And now keep in mind, this whole thing is written
from Quintin's perspective. It's a one on one interview with
some of the references to the union strife because it's
angling towards a well, this might be a union firing
and I don't know if it is or is not.
I can't confirm. But what I do find fascinating about
this story is we just had a story about how

(15:16):
you know, or two stories from ESPN on oh, well
they might cut they might force their push to cut
players over union talk, and then clarification from Darryl on
what I understand and what my what our colleague and
friend Kelsey Coin brought up is that kind of can't
fire them without like cause or something or issue or

(15:37):
cut them really like, if it's a UNI related thing
you and you are definitively certain it is, that's illegal.
So you know, I mean, technically he can go and
try and make that claim if he wanted to that
being said as listed in this column. They mentioned after
first going well, we wanted to go a different direction,
they went footwork and issues with accuracy. You know, we're

(15:59):
the things that they took away.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
And yes, you can be like, well wait, wait, wait,
wait wait, they brought it back after he was not
getting the right answers like maybe so, But unlike a
certain colleague in the space that tried to name drop
a quarterback, and I'm gonna respect that space and not
go and reference that five dollar article for the stupid
behavior that was, this one's different because he's actually cut,

(16:24):
So you know, it's not like we're isolating somebody and
playing out. Plus sounds like Quintin.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Kind of actively has gone and talk to people here
about his situation, and I just I can't get the
sense that there's slight, sour great attitude to this whole thing,
you know, not saying.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
That it's all bad.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
But the way it's framed kind of feels that way
like Memphis had a tough QB battle that was gonna
be the case one of those guys is gonna get cut.
And personally, if Ken Wizenhunt, who is a QB wizard
in NFL terms, or had been for several years, makes
a decision. I mean that means he already knew what
he wanted, or he was pretty damn certain early on

(17:06):
that he had an idea what he wanted.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Is how I view it so well.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
What it's interesting too is and I'm not again, I'm
not in the in the business and name dropping and
doing all that. I don't really want to be in
the middle of any of this quite frankly. But I mean,
there there's been names that I've heard that could be
floated around of like okay, here's who to watch for,
of like if there's anything that happens, this could be
potentially tied to it. He was never on that list

(17:34):
that I And then again here and here's the thing again,
who knows what anything is even on the internet when
you got the but.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
Right, but so well, I do not know those names
as well as you do. What I will say, and
I will say what I said as well recently Insider's talk,
they get a lot of similar areas of avenues.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
To places to go.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
I'm gonna be honest, this man wasn't showing up on
any of your guys's radar and wasn't being.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Like talked about like in certain people who are connected
going oh yeah, well he clearly was being in.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
This or something, and again not gonna mention o their names,
except someone tried to did drop a name, and I
still annoyed by that thing, but I digress, you know whatever, Yeah,
I kind of get the vibe. It's not that I'm
getting the sense that this might be more of a
actual performance cut, but will not be one hundred percent.

(18:29):
And again, Quentin's if he feels like it's a union issue,
which again the CBA is not signed, and if he
feels like it was union retaliation, he's free to go
to court over that from what I can tell. So
so we have more details as in his court there.
I mean, that's the thing, like we honestly, I want
to I'll be trying. I'll actually ask and have make

(18:51):
sure you put this link in here later. But I
mentioned our colleague Kelsey Coin put a wonderful near thirty
minute discussion on how how CBA's work union representation works,
how the formation works, and has inside information on how
the UFPA was formed and the current processes that it
is in as well, since he is connected to that

(19:12):
certain sector of the workforce. He does a lot of
stuff for America's Workforce podcast. It's the largest union podcast
in the country. So if you want any insight on
how this works and it's really to THEFPA, because there
are some stuff that's inside and how they formed, check
that video out. Link's gonna be in the description of
this video if you want for extra analysis. But long
story short, Quinton could go and starts up to me.

(19:33):
From what I could tell, could make a claim here,
but that's to be seen. Was it really this was
it performance?

Speaker 2 (19:41):
Hey? Who knows? Follow up maybe happens.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
If not, wouldn't be surprised If it's we just kind
of settle in his performance issue. I'll be honest with you,
because there's gonna be tough competition. Steffan like, that's the thing.
Troy Williams ain't no slouch. We've talked about this in
our own discord. He's not some slouch like player that's
gonna just be put to the side. Guy has talent.
He's led Mallers as well. And if I'm being frank, coaches,

(20:04):
while I know are not all connected to the same side,
you can't tell me like a Jaron Horton and company
are like, you know this guy, like he's.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
Really good player. Like we do vibe all of them.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
We're on the same mission as we used to with
the Pittsburgh Mallers. I mean to me, like, I know,
it's defense more that's being added on for stuff like
Isaiah Henny also came back and was on that team.
I mean some of that stuff seems to connect personally,
Like I feel like you get more connection with guys
like that than said Quentin Dormandy, who wasn't really connected
at all day these USFL days, Like, I feel like

(20:36):
that plays into it too.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
Maybe that's not being talked about enough. Potentially potentially, uh,
but you know as such, every week there seems to
be some union story. Again.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
Why again, I'm fine with ESPN putting these stories out,
I asked that you also put out.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
Other stories, maybe about something like this. Do you know
that the UFL is creating a fan innovation program to
accelerate tech development this season. I looked at ESPN dot com.
I couldn't find a single thing about it. Okay, what
it was place?

Speaker 1 (21:09):
Is it not the problem right there? Let's you know, like,
where's the voyage of good stuff. Why only talk about
the bad thing? You realize that they are broadcasting these
games too, don't get it.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
Look and here my last note on ESPN.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
I'm telling you right now, if you go to ESPN's
own website, which you can pull up the UFL tab,
I've done this a few times since they have started
kind of covering this one specific issue. If you go
there right now, the only things they have are union
representation issues. So any of this stuff with the boycott

(21:48):
and whatever or the last thing it did is all
the way back in January at the turn of the year,
talking about the broadcast coverage.

Speaker 2 (21:56):
Nothing else, no other things, No, not even a snippet
of something. It's either the Associated Press throughout because it
was a PR or Kevin Seybert decided to talk about
what he feels like he wants to talk about, and
that's his prerogative.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
But here's I have no problem with him putting out
those articles.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
I just want just because I know how people spin things.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
It just seems weird that they wouldn't considering they're broadcasting
this damn thing, that they wouldn't.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
Have another writer write another thing. Well, minimum, where are
these prs like prs are easy to put out. You
do this for God's sake.

Speaker 3 (22:34):
On PFN, you know, we put we you or James
puts a little snippet and then at the back end,
here's the full press release.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
Like that's not hard to do. For a multimedia company
like ESPN, that's not hard to do.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
And it's actually same for Fox too, to be honest
with you, you know, it's been an interesting year with
coverage outside of the main stuff.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
Like, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
This is where I like, I agree with some people
I've talked to you all off show where it's like
we just can Like that's where I'm like, can we
just get the negotiations done so we can just stop
having these big outlets just pick on that specific point
for like doomsday device or for doomsday feels like that's
the thing, you know, But uh, all right, I digress.
I'm done with the bad times. Let's go with the

(23:17):
happy times.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
Happy time. You have had a fashion program fast. What
is fast?

Speaker 1 (23:22):
And for Zachy it's football advancement through sports technology. Now
we're cooking. Now we're talking. My blood's flowing, sick control.
I can't even control them. This is now the union
stuff's done we're talking again. I draw back to what
I said a couple of weeks ago with that social

(23:43):
media post. This is like when I thought, okay, what
is cool about spring football? The first thing that came
to mind, Zach was innovations, innovations, And here we see
some innovations. So it isn't lost. It isn't lost in
the modern you. So we'll go through the press release here.
So it's designed with the intent to advance the game

(24:06):
of football. Fast will work with both established and emerging
sports media and technology companies, so like the UFL, to
test and launch innovations and services that will improve the sport.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
I mean potentually. We'll see there's there's a couple of
call outs here.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
So the FAST program it's going to focus on three
key emerging areas for the twenty twenty five season. And
so there's multiple partners in this. It's not just here's
one partner and the initiative. So they have and if
you've seen the press release, you'll have seen the photos
that we're talking about this. There's a camera in the
jersey that maybe could be a little bit nicer looking,

(24:47):
but it's not horrible. It's really not horrible. No, two
players I think per game per team, I'm not sure too.
Upwards of four them upwards of four four you can
have two games a week, that's the two games. So anyway,
this program three key emerging areas for the twenty twenty
five season. So the immersive player POB camera, that's what
we're talking about. So they're partnering with Mindfly on that one.

(25:09):
And it's literally that it's a camera that's so sak
of the helmet cam, but on the chest right here.
And so the example that they showed in the press release,
it has like the Renegade's logo and then right above
that there's just like a little circle cut out with
the camera and you can use that to get the
first person view. You could use that potentially during the game.

(25:31):
Is similar to like the drone cam footage or like
I said, the helmet cam to where maybe a big
play happens, some guy returns the ball ninety yards per
a touchdown, you could get that first person view, maybe
he dodges, you know, somebody pretty good. You could get
that on camera potentially. It's up to well, I have
to see if this happens in the season during the game.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
Minimum we'll see some of this.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
I think on social media in other areas. Now, this
one's an interesting one. So computer and contextual tracking that's
coming from skill corner, and so.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
This is Zach.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
You are doing a probably a better job explaining this.
But I'm sure everybody's seen, you know, charts of a
guy's running down the field and you can see almost
in real time where he is on the field, maybe
how fast he's going. And you might have other players
on the field where you can see their movement in
real time. Now that could help coaches, That could help
all sorts of things from an analytics angle. If you're

(26:29):
looking at, you know, one of the other things that
I talk about spring football, making the game safer. Now
you have all sorts of analytics at your disposal for
almost every scenario that you can.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
Pull up during the game, post game, anytime you need.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
So.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
Again, maybe there was a certain thing that happened and
you want to deep dive into that. Now beyond footage,
you have real time data that you can almost rewind
fast forward play in real time and conjunction with the footage.
That again super helped for coaches, super helpful for our
all sorts of different aspects.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
Of the game.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
Again, something we could maybe even potentially see during a
live broadcast. I've seen it with the NFL ye maybe
not in real time, but in you know, close post
to real time as such as a replay last but
not least, And we were talking about this.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
This is different, it's the same.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
So we'll talk about that sensor based ball tracking, which
we I think we had last year, Zach, right, like,
I don't know, maybe that's different, Maybe that's not, don't
all it's a little different.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
So you know, I know, the original the UFL last
year and what we've seen in the past is more
like a camera based system to kind of create the
true line technology. This is more like an actual active tracker.
The best way I can describe it, based on just
reading the tech and seeing the examples is almost like

(27:53):
maybe if you've watched like a PGA event or like
something like that, or perhaps you've watched tennis where you
can see the ball tracker graphic where it like shows
the lines and the trajectories and like implemented as like
an overlay on the camera. That's kind of what's being
talked about here, along with implementation of like possibly better

(28:14):
officiating tactics with said tech since it will help track
things a bit better as well with the chips. So
you know, it sounds like it's more going to be
implemented for broadcast purposes with like the intention of possibly
seeing and experimenting VIA fast if they can use it
for officiating purposes better as well, because this already is
used in other leagues around the actually in different sports

(28:36):
as well. One of them I do on my own
side gig actually is Australian Football. Funny enough, I actually
outside of here, I have connections to working via with
Australian sports, and Australian football uses this tech a lot.
They use it for like tracking their goalkicks and whatnot.
It's pretty cool stuff, honestly, and I think it makes

(28:59):
it visualize the game a bit better or kind of
showing off some of the cool new angles of the game. Otherwise,
apparently just going on Sportable's website and you know, kind
of makes sense too. They're connected with some other more
minor like smaller scale professional leagues like MLR, Major League
Rugby which some of our Discord guys follow, or the CFL,

(29:23):
so the connection.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
Is very prevalent right there.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
But there's a lot of there's a lot of potential
with it, I think outside of just broadcast capability.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
That you can use with it as well.

Speaker 3 (29:35):
And yeah, kind of a bit different than tracking. I
get this on I'm trying to say it's not true line.
It's almost like it advances the true line aspects a
little bit further.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
Yeah, well, it's interesting.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
It's almost like the innovation we were talking about above
with the contextual tracting. It's just almost applying that not
only to the player, but now to the ball as well.
So it's even just more data points more everything. Was
the weather this the last time you played this team
in that city? Well, no, now we can look at
the data.

Speaker 2 (30:04):
Did the ball? How did the ball react to these throws?

Speaker 3 (30:07):
Right?

Speaker 2 (30:08):
Was it windy? Was it windy? Right? Was it was
it rainy? I mean there's all sorts of.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
Situations where this this this just helps more data is always.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
A good thing, right exactly.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
And again, once you learn these things, then you can
start even applying it to your training of the players
and say, hey, look we taught this guy how to
make this tiny little adjustment and you could see the
results right here. And so maybe that's even the push
it'll take for some of these guys to say, oh,
maybe I try this approach to where they get you know,
spread out that benefits. Or you have a new guy

(30:41):
that has to come off the bench because unfortunately injuries
do happen. This could be a way to say, hey,
let me get you up to speed on how the
guy you're coming in to fill his shoes was really
really doing things here and hopefully you can better connect
with the guys out on the field.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
You know, so either way, you let you you look
at it.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
This is what I love to see, new innovations, trying
out new things, even tweaking things that you were doing
before kind of to the point of the ball track
and we add you know, tracking as far as the
true line, but now we're adding to it to a
certain degree, and so every little bit counts. I really
hope we do see some of these things in the broadcast.

(31:21):
It seems like we're getting the drone back because I've
seen the drone footage. They're pushing that on social media,
and so maybe this is the replacement for the helmet.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
Cam this year. I envision they don't do both, but
i'd be maybe they do. I'd be shocked if it is.

Speaker 3 (31:36):
I've like, I've seen some videos while we're kind of
or quick snippets while we're getting this show ready. It's
basically helmet cam, but like you should expect an HD
quality camera.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
That's the thing. The footage looks much better.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
And I appreciated some of the amazing shots we've gotten
from helmet cam over the years, starting back with like
the USFL and kind of taking that further now through
last several seasons. But like you look at mind Fly's
website and some of the clips coming out of it,
and honestly, I know exactly where this has been used
in the past.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
The NFL has been.

Speaker 3 (32:08):
Using this for their ref cameras at times, you know
they have a hat cam, but they also can use
it for other implemizations with their referees, which you know
can be also used in the UFL if they want
as well. But no, the clips they're showing as example
footage here that have been used elsewhere in multiple different sports.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Leagues around the world.

Speaker 3 (32:27):
It should enhance the helmet cam for like ID like
the whole purpose of it to a much better looking product,
to where there's less grain, more higher quality, and higher
resolution action, So that one I am especially thrilled because
that's an immediate impact to what.

Speaker 2 (32:44):
We get to watch as well. It's already used everywhere else.

Speaker 3 (32:48):
I know they're studying it, but you know you'll go
on their website, like they've used it in several sports
leagues across the across the world and many in the US.
They've already been testing it. So the UFL is just kind
is getting on that bandwagon. And then to kind of
go back to Skill Corner. The best way I can
describe this is this is the UFL's basically entry into

(33:10):
what AWS is for the NFL.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
You know, you get the speed.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
Tracking, you get advanced analytics on like probabilities of catches
and certain breaking of runs. You know, if you go
on Skill Corner's website, like, there's a lot of data
that they provide. But this is basically AWS alternative is
what this is. Which is awesome because what you can
use for this is not only broadcast like discussion pieces

(33:34):
like say if you're doing like highlights of a player
over the season and you talk about like how like
his speed is killer, how like amazing these throws have been,
and how accurate this passer is, but like you can
use this for social media in a lot of ways too,
And I hope this is implemented by the social team
because I really like the AWS clips for the social
media aspects in the NFL. I think skill Corner could

(33:54):
really take advantage of that if the UFL social guys
are allowed to kind of have quick access and use
of that data through the week for cool highlight insights.
So I'm keeping an eye on that one too. You'll
probably see that more likely used online social media wise.
The players will get that data for themselves along with
the coaches and maybe broadcasts to use it as well.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
I'm hoping we'll find out though. Yeah, man, I'm looking
forward to it all.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
Yeah, just new stuff, new things to try, new innovations,
and like.

Speaker 3 (34:24):
The spring spring football and innovation and the experimentation. It's
one of its best strengths, you know, So you get
a lot of cool stuff that maybe you don't always
get to see or you get to, uh be on
the cutting edge of here because they need to do it,
you know, they need to be creative to get people
in or find new ways to you know, say hey,
we're not just doing the NFL thing. We do other

(34:45):
stuff different the NFL, and then you know, as we
see with the NFL, they.

Speaker 2 (34:48):
Go, it's got a cool Now, let's let's let's let's
do it.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
And then yeah, you know that's how it works, so
you know, uh, but yeah, it's nice and I'm glad
that they've made, you know, and it's more advancement of
like stuff that feels like investment in the future, like
brand new department, something that they're trying to be like, hey,
we're trying to do tech, you know, moving forward. We
want to be a hotbed to test stuff. In their

(35:13):
own press release, they mentioned that they have a four
chalk toss stadium a private five G network that's going
to be dedicated there, which is huge for a lot
of this tech to be working properly because you want
to connect it to some sort of network to kind
of have it where you can test connections more easily
and whatnot. So, you know, recommitment to Arlington a bit more.
There's a lot of positive futury and future proofing field

(35:36):
type of things in this at least that says we
are committed to moving ahead for extra seasons, I feel,
but that's maybe.

Speaker 2 (35:44):
Me reading almost too much into it I feel, I
don't know, I'm I like it.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
I like the tech stuff. I love the tech stuff
that they bring up. It's one of my favorite things
with leagues like this, So give me more of it
every time.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
I love hell yeah, hell yeah. You know what else
is pretty nice, Zach. We heard from the co owner
of the UFL, Danny Garcia. She made a surprise appearance,
so it was not noted that she was going to
be there. But they have, you know, they've been having
media appearances for the league. They've been doing different press conferences,
not press conferences rather but media conferences with the coaches

(36:17):
and things like that, and hey, it's always nice.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
To hear from the co owner of the UFL.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
We were talking about it, I think a couple of
weeks ago on around the UFL.

Speaker 2 (36:25):
Maybe it was on this show.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
She had put out a post on social media say
you know, it's always nice to hear from these people,
and here she is, so you know, she touched on
a couple of points. She touched on the UFL media headquarters.
So we've talked about that in a good amount. So
I'd say there wasn't I don't know if there was
anything huge newsworthy that came out of the media appearance.

(36:51):
It's a lot of hey, talking about the league, a
lot of the things that we already know. But it's
still a good thing to do, right. I think even
to this an extent, like hey, let's throw the rock.

Speaker 2 (37:02):
In one of these bad boys.

Speaker 1 (37:04):
Doesn't need to be everyone, just throw them in one
before the season. Why, for the same reason that ESPN's
writing about the union stuff. If the rock shows up
at a media day appearance, I thy ESPN writes about that,
you know, and it's just a reason, just giving people
a reason to talk about your league in a positive way, right,
And so I think that might be part of the

(37:26):
intent here.

Speaker 2 (37:26):
And so good news is if nobody's.

Speaker 1 (37:28):
Going to talk about it, we are, right And so yeah,
we're gonna talk about on this show. James Larson, he
has a good kind of breakdown over on Newsroom, which
PF Newsroom dot Com should be checking.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
It out daily.

Speaker 1 (37:41):
But she talks about the headquarters. She says, this is
a massive mass and milestone for us. You know, they
spoke about it earlier. All of the teams and coaches
are in one location. They can come together and you know,
because of that location, they could even do so much
more so beyond having all the coaches and players there
in a hub, they're gonna have media and marketing and
have cameras, is all the things that we already talked about.

Speaker 2 (38:04):
The one though that I think that's interesting that she
talked about.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
Here is Friday night lights, right, because I don't know
if people are as excited about that as you and Isaac. I. Well, one,
we're gonna be there for the kickoff of the season
at a Friday night game.

Speaker 2 (38:19):
But historically it's funny. Historically we've seen these leagues.

Speaker 1 (38:23):
Sometimes put some of the not as desirable games on
like a Thursday, a Friday, maybe later at night.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
But what always happens, Zack. They always end up being
like the craziest game of the week.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
Yes, they might start out slow, but like I just
remember USFL after Dark, XFL after Dark, there's something about
it where the fourth quarter was like circus town, crazy plays,
anything could happen. You thought you were gonna lose as
you were down by three possessions, not anymore because we're

(38:58):
up by eight points.

Speaker 2 (38:59):
Maybe you know, like overtimes.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
You name it, which we didn't even get overtime last year.
But yeah, I'm saying, if we get overtime this year,
it's gonna be on a Friday night. So she spoke
about Friday Night and she said, with Fox, it's a
big initiative for them and their broadcast partners, you know,
so they're they're actively putting an effort hopefully to get
people eyes on Friday Night own that time slot. And Zach,

(39:27):
you have kind of a little bit of insight. We were
talking about this before the show. Now, I've been of
the person of the mindset of like we need to
be telling people screaming it from the skies that hey,
this league is on Friday nights now. But you had
even mentioned, like, you know, even in the in like
the other traditional broadcasts, sometimes not even up until like

(39:49):
the week maybe a couple of weeks before.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
Yeah, So yeah, I mean there is.

Speaker 3 (39:53):
Something to that, I think because people, you know, people
do have a short attention span. Well sure, sure, and
I think that you know, at this point, you know,
it's better, you know, you want to have What Fox
does often is in the UFL season or USFL season,
they'll do like at earliest the next week promo, then

(40:14):
the week promo than tomorrow today and then go and
so I think what's happening is that, you know, I've
been wondering, Hey, you know, Fox owns and has been
doing a sports showcase on Fridays now ever since the
WWE ended its contract with Fox back in August of
this past year. So I was kind of sitting here,

(40:37):
I'm thinking, well, you know, Fox College Hoops Friday is
about to and when are these UFL promos supposed to
show up? Because Fox does Friday promos for their sports
along with their own specific promos for Day of Sports
and whatnot. And I'm just thinking about it. It's got
to be coming soon. The only reason I'm saying this
is because tournaments are ending very soon. So this coming

(41:00):
weekend you're going to see the Big East tournament, who
which Fox is Big Pride and Joy over there. They're
gonna see that end soon. You're also gonna see other
tournaments end across the board. And then then I think
you're gonna see a lot more UFL promos started hitting
the airwaves very shortly after, if not within the next
week and a half. To that point, that point you

(41:22):
should start seeing a runway. There's no basketball anymore. Fox
does have their tournament called The Crown, which is a
new like independent basketball tournament they're doing in Las Vegas.
So there's some things they'll.

Speaker 2 (41:34):
Do with that.

Speaker 3 (41:34):
But the Friday slot they should start advertising as Fox
UFL Friday very shortly. So I would be shocked here
if by at the latest next week, say next Monday,
not this coming Monday, but the Monday after that, if
they didn't have something saying that it's coming up. Yeah,
I'd be kind of surprised because like you'll be wanting

(41:55):
to start seeing those churn out like next week or
something like that to kind of get that going.

Speaker 2 (42:00):
I would hope, and.

Speaker 1 (42:01):
I guess I would anticipate that the final week leading
into the UFL we should see a ramp up in promotion.
Not to say the Fox isn't doing it, because they are.
When you watch NASCAR, they're pumping it with UFL ads
when you're watching kind of like their things, they're kind
of sprucing it in. But I think we're gonna start

(42:22):
seeing some of those UFL promos and maybe not your
traditional spots that you would see so outside of your NASCAR,
maybe on a primetime spot on a Monday during whatever
the Fox broadcast is going on or A Tuesday, so
on and so forth. So I'm looking forward to seeing that.
I'm really hoping to see a fun game Friday night.
I know the Roughnecks are going to win, but I

(42:44):
do want it to be fun. I don't want the
rough Decks to just.

Speaker 3 (42:46):
Tell me you Collaber, you called me yawning at the
prospect of ah, man, we got that game to kick
things up. Hey man, I'll tell you what. I'm rooting
for you to get whatever you're gonna get out of me.
But otherwise, hey, it's just.

Speaker 1 (43:02):
Chalking up for a w I know it's gonna wait,
you wait, We're gonna shock the world. We're going to
shock the world, and I will be happy to say
that it's gonna be like me.

Speaker 2 (43:11):
And credit where credits to Me and Ace.

Speaker 1 (43:14):
Are the only two people that can say told you so.

Speaker 2 (43:19):
Maybe there's one or two out there.

Speaker 1 (43:20):
There might be a few other but I'm gonna righty.

Speaker 2 (43:26):
I can't wait to say I told you so.

Speaker 3 (43:29):
I see everyone, I see all the start of the
hype on Anthony Brown, and you know all this hope.
I do this every year of the NFL Season two.
Stefan I'm I'm part of the Bears fan base. We're
of the most delusional social media fan bases on the
on the planet.

Speaker 2 (43:44):
Now, this year is different for the.

Speaker 1 (43:46):
Last year, For the last two years, right, the last
two years especially.

Speaker 2 (43:51):
Oh, I'm cursed. I know I'm here. No, no, no, not you.

Speaker 1 (43:55):
I put a curse on those damn Chicago Bears forty years.
You're not gonna we win a championship. And it's thanks
to me for your shenanigans with your coach.

Speaker 2 (44:05):
You'll see, Oh, yes, see, you are delusional, Zach. You're right,
Thank you. You just proved your own point. You said, no,
we're delusional, except for this year.

Speaker 1 (44:14):
That's exactly what a delusional fan would say. And I agree, Zach,
except for this year with the roughnecks.

Speaker 2 (44:21):
Because we're not.

Speaker 1 (44:23):
One, we're not two, we're not three, we're not four,
we're not five, we're not six, we're not seven, we're
not eight, we're not nine, we're not time, we're not eleven.

Speaker 2 (44:29):
We're twelve. And oh baby, we're going twelve. And oh
and it's gonna feel so good good.

Speaker 3 (44:36):
I can't I can't wait to I can't wait to
sit back and be like so what are we doing
next week? Uh?

Speaker 2 (44:43):
The another chance to that that one? And oh start again? Huh.

Speaker 1 (44:46):
They're gonna add games to the season. If we don't
win this first game. I hate to break it to you,
we're gonna have a week zero like the AF one.

Speaker 2 (44:54):
Will all please.

Speaker 1 (44:58):
Okay, that's gonna drop out of the league after what
we do to them.

Speaker 3 (45:02):
By the way, check out AF one. That's a full
slate of games this weekend. You should totally watch. Please
do Can we take a moment? Evergreen knocked it out
of the park. I see people clowned on evergo.

Speaker 2 (45:12):
What's Evergreen?

Speaker 1 (45:13):
Who?

Speaker 2 (45:13):
Who cares who it is and what it is? It worked? Said,
do you remember last year? And did it work? I
mean maybe sometimes in Kip Fyre did work, but it
wasn't great.

Speaker 1 (45:26):
Yeah, like people to like chill out, bro like okay,
yeah Evergreen. I didn't hear a bit before this, But
it worked, probably better than any of these alternative Spring
Football League streaming options.

Speaker 2 (45:39):
Other than YouTube. But even to that point, the broadcast
package was nice. It was clean.

Speaker 1 (45:45):
Yeah, you can get them free on YouTube. But Jack,
it's a mixed bag. Not everybody's the San Antonio Gunslingers
we've seen some of those teams. It's like literally a
soou string budget, you know, like so anyway to work,
could credit where credits deserved. They did a good job.
The game was fun. The game, I'll say the first half.

(46:06):
I was like, Wow, this is actually a low scoring
game for Arena football. Jet Fisher said at halftime they're
gonna score more in the second half. So he must
have came out with the wallet and said, hey, guys,
oh my god, you want it just goes back. You're
like every touchdown.

Speaker 3 (46:23):
Like freaking uh, the freaking America is like the Kurt
Warner story.

Speaker 2 (46:27):
Every touchdowns one hundred dollars.

Speaker 1 (46:29):
No, I mean that second half, dude, it was Boy,
it was a fun game. Not that the first half wasn't,
but that's what you want to see. Yeah, for all
the doom and gloom there is around everything.

Speaker 2 (46:41):
You know.

Speaker 3 (46:42):
Yeah, I've had I've followed a f one for a minute.

Speaker 2 (46:46):
I've been involved. They have put in some ways I
will never No, I'm leaving.

Speaker 3 (46:50):
It alone because I don't want to go into a
into a sidetrack here of other stuff.

Speaker 2 (46:55):
But you know, I I still like that.

Speaker 3 (46:59):
I still really love the league and the people I
know from there that I am connected with and I
still do help with from time to time. There's good
people in there that are doing a lot of awesome work.
That first game killed it though, So definitely tuned in
this week and Vice TV broadcast, so it's gonna be
the best arena broadcast. I guarantee it'll be the best

(47:20):
looking game of the week anywhere. So yeah, if you
want like freemo arena football, look tune in seven o'clock
Eastern time for the wolf Pack hosting the Southwest Kansas
Storm on Vice TV.

Speaker 1 (47:37):
So, and here's another quick shout out, just because I'm
feeling generous today.

Speaker 2 (47:43):
Adam Pelletaire.

Speaker 1 (47:44):
I mean, he's the guys have been covering spring football,
and this dude's like a comms guy for the league,
Like that's the story.

Speaker 2 (47:51):
And so he's also doing fantasy sports for him, sotball,
all fantasy.

Speaker 3 (47:55):
If there's anyone that I was specifically hinting at the
guys part, which I've been a lot of the A
f one guys, Adam, if you're watching the show, yeah,
I the shout outs a lot to you. Keep your
head up, man, You're doing some great work with the
league right now. I gotta stress that.

Speaker 2 (48:11):
Man.

Speaker 3 (48:12):
Uh, he is one of the artist working people over there,
and honestly a lot of stuff that's been going on
that is polished with them, a lot of it goes
towards him and his team. So hats off to you,
my friend.

Speaker 2 (48:26):
Hell yeah. So see, there's all sorts of good stuff
to be watching.

Speaker 1 (48:29):
If you're itching for alternative football, spring football, any kind
of football. You really don't even need to wait two weeks,
Like I was, you and I were watching it last weekend.
There's a whole slate of games ifl I guess, if
you're willing to pay thirty bucks. I don't quite I
don't quite get that. I get the I don't understand that.
Actually I get it. I get it post the game,

(48:52):
but I feel like they're just gonna box people out
of watching their game.

Speaker 2 (48:55):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (48:57):
I don't know, but yeah, I mean my quick take
on that. Just so I don't we don't go full
indoor arena on this show. I mean, if you guys want,
I want to talk about it at some point, always leaving
the comments. I don't mind talking arena. It's just we
we try and keep it on track as much as
possible with like this with the UFL stuff. But my
quick take on that is, I think if they would

(49:19):
have announced this sooner or at least laid out and
you and I've talked about this with press releases, We've
seen so many over the years that if you lay
out your doing it and that you knew you were
doing it, and then like a month or so later,
here's the price, maybe that's reciprocated, reciprocate better. A lot
of the talk I've had in this with like people

(49:40):
I know from my own sector of this where I'm
like more inside on arena is the timing of this
feels very inconvenient because like the IFL, yes it is
the biggest and like most stable league, but like, dude,
this is ten days away from kickoff and you're basically like.

Speaker 2 (49:58):
All right, guys, well, uh thirty bucks soor go find
something else. And that's not just me, by the way,
the Green Bay Blizzard owner said it this way. Hey
there's other free leagues. Go watch that. All right, sounds great,
gonna go do that.

Speaker 3 (50:12):
Thanks a lot, Kathy, appreciate you, appreciate the insight, you know,
like that's as tone deaf as you can get.

Speaker 2 (50:18):
Right there.

Speaker 1 (50:20):
I mean, it's not a lot, but no, it's not
when you were getting it for free.

Speaker 2 (50:24):
It's like you're telling people. You're telling people buy this
or sorry out of luck, and you remove all your
games from YouTube. That's what I was just about to
say that. Yeah, I mean, I know that's just.

Speaker 3 (50:37):
And I'm not talking I'm talking an entire archive of
seven years of former games. So like, say you were
curious in any way, well you gotta pay the price now.
And again they just did this the night before and said, oopsie,
well that's part of the deal.

Speaker 1 (50:55):
That's when I started seeing people online because they thought
they were gonna roll out like a YouTube members to
where it's going to be paywalled behind that, which actually
I think is funny enough. I think they can apply
these same amounts in YouTube and they have better traction.
I understand why they're not because YouTube's gonna take thirty
percent right off the top, where they probably get a
better percentage out of this deal. Although I can't imagine

(51:16):
it's cheap to host these games, So.

Speaker 2 (51:20):
We will see, we will see. I just I don't know.

Speaker 1 (51:24):
I just think anytime you charge for something in these
very niche niche markets, you're just boxing out more people
than you would just get and if.

Speaker 2 (51:34):
It was more accessible. Right, all right, I have one
more thing I want to say is because I've screw it,
I gotta do this. Here's the thing.

Speaker 3 (51:43):
You may have seen this tweet already from me, but
last several years I've been talking to people in this space.
I love arena football and I like watching for free
on YouTube. But I'll tell you from talking with people
these teams not making money on broadcasts and YouTube basically
saying sorry, we're gonna copyright anything you make and we're
just gonna make you not have a chance to monetize

(52:04):
the hell out of it because you play music.

Speaker 2 (52:08):
It was coming people. I gotta restress this for anyone
that like cross watches this stuff, this was coming. They
were going to at some point bailoff YouTube. We saw
the early signs last year with Caffeine TV, with the
IFL and some of the teams that were in AF
one that you know had original plans. Now they're more
serious and actually have stuff in order to do the

(52:28):
things they're doing.

Speaker 3 (52:30):
It's gonna happen the age of monetizing arena football and
getting into what other leagues are doing. It's here, it's
the next step. I know it's small, but that they
need the money to grow.

Speaker 2 (52:42):
That's the thing.

Speaker 1 (52:44):
It's a shame too, because it's it's around the silliest thing.
I really wish YouTube would fix that. Nobody and listening
to an AF one broadcast on YouTube to listen to
the Nelly song in the background you know what and you.

Speaker 2 (52:56):
Know what kills me. I had heard several years ago
that there have been rumors that YouTube was going to
make a sports partnership program where it was gonna be
about live sports and finding ways to circumvent the copyrights
and whatnot. Nothing. This was like three pushing four years ago.

Speaker 3 (53:11):
I heard this from someone with connections to one of
these leagues and never materialized. And if that doesn't happen, well,
all right, well either we stick the plan and then
find partners, or we find ways to find the best
medium that we make extra cash to then recycle into
our league while also getting people to watch. So yeah,

(53:33):
maybe my point was with this as you and I talked,
maybe the message probably could have been relayed a bit better,
because like, yeah, cool, I get your point, but like again,
ten days, ten days, Like why now you know, why
not just relay that like back in February.

Speaker 2 (53:52):
That's my point. Well, like you said, even if it's
just saying, hey, this is our plans for this season.

Speaker 1 (53:58):
More details coming soon, because there is probably a reality
where the reason.

Speaker 2 (54:02):
It's only it's being announced ten days a way is
it was just finalized eleven days ago away, right, you know.

Speaker 1 (54:08):
Yeah, but if you knew you were working on this,
like you said, you could have teed that up that
and you know it doesn't have to be beat.

Speaker 2 (54:15):
Hey, good news.

Speaker 1 (54:17):
We're working on a subscription service that's gonna make the
games more reliable, easier to watch replays, this and that
you're gonna have an app, right, there's ways you can
bump it up before you even.

Speaker 2 (54:28):
Have the details.

Speaker 3 (54:29):
Details on pricing, tiers and other accessible items will be
available at a later date, and then you drop it
ten days before the broadcast because people now know it's coming.

Speaker 2 (54:39):
That's the thing.

Speaker 3 (54:40):
You know, I heard there are rumors about this back
in January. Doesn't mean the public knew that. And that's
kind of what we're talking about right now. All Right,
I gotta stop because I can keep going all day
with this. Any other thoughts on UFL. Yeah, so far
off the railway with the IFL stuff, because it's such
a big news story in the community.

Speaker 2 (55:01):
Yeah, things, you know.

Speaker 1 (55:03):
I mean, we're two weeks away, training camps happening. Cuts
are already controversial and so anticipate. As we have more
episodes in the lead lead up to kick off, they're
only gonna get crazier and the discussion is.

Speaker 2 (55:17):
Going to be here. But I think that's it. I'm
just looking forward to one you coming out, We're gonna
do well.

Speaker 1 (55:24):
You gotta do the barbecue thing, the barbecue thing, and
I have so many options on where we could go,
and so I know which one we probably should go to.
But they're all equally as good. They're just slightly different.
They're all slightly different, but all the same quality. The
weather's looking like it's gonna be good because it was

(55:45):
kind of chilly, but like today, it's gonna be eighty seven.

Speaker 2 (55:47):
I mean perfect, sign me up.

Speaker 1 (55:49):
So it's in that high seventies kind of eighties to
where as long as we don't get rain knock on
wood for that game, it's not going to be a
cold game. So that should be good, especially because it's
gonna be a later game. We're not gonna be scorching
in the sun. So even if it is like eighty
seven ninety degrees that in the day, it's probably gonna.

Speaker 2 (56:08):
Cool off to like that.

Speaker 1 (56:10):
Mids it's gonna be perfect. It's gonna be like mid
seventies probably out there. It's gonna be good weather, good times.
And like I said, we got the mini grill coming.
I think it's gonna come Friday, so I'm gonna get
it all prepped because you gotta like cook off the
chemicals and do crap like that. So I'm gonna get
that all set up like this weekend. But Zach, I

(56:30):
figure when you get into town, we can hit up
like the HB or the Kroger or Walmart or something.
Just pick up like dogs, buns, condiments, chips, pop and
for anybody that's coming, feel free to bring stuff, but
don't feel obligated. We're gonna have stuff. We're probably Zach.
You know, remember last time it's what was it spring
Summer stock too. We just had too many packages the

(56:53):
hot dogs at the end, and we're like, what do we.

Speaker 2 (56:55):
Do with these? We overloaded on this stuff bad.

Speaker 1 (56:58):
Actually, I'm like, what do we do with them. I'm like,
I think we just throw them away. I don't even
know what we did with them. I don't know, we know,
but we threw them out, which is a shame. We
had talked about getting them back, but it was it
was too late. There's no ey they're gonna get back
without being just rancid or something like that. Yeah, you know,
but like, man, this time, Rond will be great.

Speaker 3 (57:21):
Actually, that's one thing to check off my Texas uh
list of items is the hg B.

Speaker 2 (57:28):
God.

Speaker 3 (57:28):
I was thinking about how we hear about these grocery
stores all the time.

Speaker 1 (57:32):
I'm just saying, Zach, wait to see the carts. The
carts are comically large, even you know, even you know
the small carts like Kroger and stuff they have, like
the small carts. They have small carts at HIB and
they're comic every just wait, Zach. Hib is amazing. They're
a little bit pricier than Kroger. It's a little bit

(57:54):
further from me, but they're opening one close to me.
Uh so I'm excited about that.

Speaker 2 (57:58):
But there's certain things that h that are just amazing,
and like GB store brand, like the HB salsa banging Hib,
like Dorito knockoffs banging like their their knockoff stuff is
actually sometimes even better than like the name brand.

Speaker 3 (58:16):
I can feel my back growing stuffan I need to
lose a little bit more to get down.

Speaker 2 (58:21):
There were to work out after the show. I've been
neglected last few days.

Speaker 1 (58:26):
One of the things I was actually looking at before
because I was like, what is some tailgate stuff that
we could grill? And at HGB they have stuffed halapinos
wrapped in bacon. Oh, We're like, I need to throw
on the grill. I'm like, okay, we gotta get some
of those. We got like, we're getting some stuff sack
because dude, we're we're we're gonna do a stream. I
figured the stream is gonna be like an hour, hour

(58:46):
and a half. We're tailgating for hours. We're finally getting
our tailgates act so that.

Speaker 3 (58:51):
We've we've done pseudo tailgates at some of these events
in the past, like this time we're actually legit, like, okay,
we're planning out tailgate hour after the show.

Speaker 2 (59:01):
No quick pack go in. This time.

Speaker 3 (59:04):
It's we're literally pulling some bruskies up, cooking some dogs burgers,
and now absolutely stuff Alpeno poppers. You're not walking away
from me with dropping that name wise, and no, we're
getting We're not buying.

Speaker 2 (59:16):
We're buying these now.

Speaker 1 (59:17):
So see these are the things my wife never lets
me buy at the store. So I was like, I
was like, God, this is like finally that. And there's
a couple of other things.

Speaker 2 (59:25):
I'm like, the whole pass of junk food. Yeah, did
they have like chicken?

Speaker 1 (59:31):
I was thinking of chicken wings, all sorts of things.
It's a small grill, but we can row. I mean,
I figure you can.

Speaker 2 (59:35):
Get those little containers with the lids to keep stuff warm.

Speaker 1 (59:39):
So do a couple of dogs and dogs even Anyway,
I'm I need to not eat for like a week
beforehand because I'm planning on eating so much that day.

Speaker 2 (59:50):
And then they got a Chick fil A in the stadium, Zach,
so then I always got to make Friday that Yeah,
I won't be closed, that's right, yep, man, I okay,
So that's what I'm looking for to so much. Looking
around the court. It's gonna be big back week. I
can feel it.

Speaker 1 (01:00:10):
We're gonna be feeling sickly. I'm telling you, just yeah, anyway,
it's gonna be good. We hope that you can make
it out there. If you can't make it out, like
I said, we're gonna be on live stream. Maybe we'll
even eat one of those dogs live on the stream.
I'll probably be kicking back with a beer.

Speaker 2 (01:00:25):
Yeah, hell yeah. So here's the deal, guys, here's what
you guys need to do. Follow us. Do the thing.

Speaker 1 (01:00:31):
If you're on YouTube, subscribe click the bell of builds Morale,
and also let you know when we go live, just
like we were talking about Springstock for just like around
the UFL, just like all the things that we're live for.
Follow us on social media at UFL podcast, at PFN News,
PF Newsroom, at UFL Newsroom for just kind of like

(01:00:52):
all the latest happenings, all the latest news because I'm
looking forward to it. And here here's the thing. If
you're playing on coming out to Springstock, let us go
down in the comments. Yeah, because I'm actually curious to
see the amount of people.

Speaker 2 (01:01:05):
I joked with Zach. I'll say it on the stream.
I don't care.

Speaker 1 (01:01:10):
I joked with Zach that the only people at the
game on Friday might be the people that are going
to Springstock, because there's not like a whole there's not
a whole lot of tickets there. So part of that
is if you're in Texas, if you're in San Antonio,
if you're in Arlington, come out to Springstock. Come grab
a free hot dog. I always say, if it's freez me,
come grab a free hot dog before the game.

Speaker 2 (01:01:30):
Come out to the game. It's going to be.

Speaker 1 (01:01:32):
Affordable as cheap as chips. And guess what, we'll probably
bump into you the next what next day because Zach
and I are driving out to Arlington to watch the
first Texas throw down of the season with the Renegades
and the Brahmas. So if you're already planning on going
out there, come out.

Speaker 2 (01:01:46):
On Friday night.

Speaker 1 (01:01:47):
Let's fill the rig, as they say, I don't like that,
but let's fill the rig nonetheless, fill the rocket ship.

Speaker 3 (01:01:53):
I like that way. Credit Union, Yeah, Houston, we have
a problem.

Speaker 2 (01:02:01):
Fill the saw circuits.

Speaker 1 (01:02:03):
Yeah, So come on, come on join us, Get a
free hot dog, get a free RCI cola, get a
bite of a chip, maybe throw some dip on that
bad boy, and let's pack the house for the kickoff
for the UFL. Because I want it to be loud.
I wanted to be big. I don't want as many
eyes as possible to see the Houston Roughnecks start. They're
twelve and zero season. So anyway, those are the things

(01:02:27):
you need to do. Here's the other one. Like the
video or dislike the video, do the thing it gets
the engagement. YouTube says ooh that's.

Speaker 2 (01:02:33):
Good, so do that. Very nice, very nice. But I
think that's it.

Speaker 1 (01:02:37):
I think that's it, so at least until probably next Monday.
I think we'll be back next Monday. If not, probably
have an episode of this next week. But until next time,
