This week, Dr. Prather talks about how to diagnose allergies and colds, and how natural solutions are more effective than drugs in treating them.  In this episode, you'll discover:

—The difference between allergy and cold symptoms.
—How trees are actually the biggest problems for those dealing with Spring allergies right now.  And which allergies are most connected with each season of the year.
—Why it is so important to distinguish between a cold or allergy for proper treatment.  And how allergy shots are based upon the principles of homeopathy, which is "actually more powerful than the allergy shots".
—How allergies can make you susceptible to viruses and can then lead to a bacterial infection.  And why someone with allergy symptoms can often feel better temporarily while taking an antibiotic, but will then feel much worse when the antibiotic ends.
—Why Dr. Prather can often tell if it's a cold or allergy just by looking at a patient's eyes.  And how proper Vitamin D levels can cut down on both allergies and colds.
—How Indiana is the "epicenter" of allergies and has more people suffering from allergies than almost anyplace else.
—The diagnostics and lab tests Holistic Integration uses to identify the specific allergy or cold virus the patient is suffering from.  And the Electrodermal Screening tool that helps to identify the root cause of someone's issue and the products they need to correct it.
—How Holistic Integration uses Homeopathics to specifically target the allergens or virus that are the cause of your symptoms.  And how parasites are often the cause of allergies, like with eczema in children.
—Why patients "love" the Diathermy treatment that provides "immediate" relief from their allergies and colds.  And why Chiropractic adjustments and Acupuncture treatments make such a big difference in your immune system response to allergies and colds.
—Plus, learn the details about our upcoming free educational seminar with Dr. Prather on May 28th at 6:30 p.m.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Hi, I'm Lisa Praither and welcome to the Voice of
Health with our host, doctor Robert Praither of Holistic Integration,
where lives are changed every day through the natural approach
to healthcare. While allergies are cold, what's the cause of
your runny nose? So right now we're in May, lovely May.

(00:34):
All the flowers are blooming and the smells and it's beautiful.
But sure sometimes it's not fun going outside.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Yeah, the biggest problem is the trees. So the trees
are putting out pollen, and trees have to make love
fifty miles away, they have to walk, so they kind
of spread the love.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Out there, spread the love the pollen.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
So I know the following up to fifty miles, up
to fifty miles oftentimes. Wow, so you got to put
out a lot of is in the air. Love is
in the air. That's I think that's what they mean
by that.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Well, let's talk about statistics. So allergies adults age eighteen
and older, the percent with analergy is thirty one point
eight percent, percent with seasonal allergy is twenty five point
seven percent, and percent with exema seven point three percent,
and percent with food allergy six point two, and that's

(01:34):
pretty high. Thirty one, almost thirty two percent of adults
age eighteen and older have an allergy. Yeah, and then
seasonal allergy is almost twenty six percent.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
And then children younger.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Than age eighteen years percent with an allergy twenty seven percent,
so real close to adults. Seasonal allergies nineteen percent percent,
with exima eleven percent, and food allergy six percent. So
when you look at those percentages, really close to adults,
so definitely an issue, and the symptoms can be similar.

(02:11):
So doctor Bray, there, how do we tell, like, you know,
for the symptom of fever, you know, cold verse allergy.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
Let's go through some of those symptoms.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
That's actually what a lot of people, you know, as
they're coming in, Oh, my sinuses are terrible. I don't
know if it's a cold or analogy. Yeah, you know,
that's always the big question. So and of course it
makes a big difference on how you treat it. So
determining that is one of the things, and.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
That's why it's important to know.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
It's important to actually know. So, I mean, symptom wise,
that's one way to kind of look at it. Cold,
I mean sometimes can have the fever most of the time.
Not that's usually sort of a flu type of thing. Allergies,
of course you don't. You don't get fevers, so that's
that's one thing that's very true. Body aches and pains

(03:00):
sometimes a cold will, but that's again more of a
flu type of thing, and allergies are never Headaches often
with a cold, sometimes with allergies, cough often with a cold,
very few times, sometimes with allergies, Fatigue often with cold,
sometimes with allergies, but not as often. You know, the itchy,

(03:21):
watery eyes types of things. That's rarely with a cold.
Oftentimes you get that with allergies. So as soon as
somebody says that, yeah, you know, my eyes are actually
looks like I had a crust around them, you know,
that's always like, okay, that's allergies. And an itchy throat.
I mean that's often with an allergy. Yeah, runny knows,

(03:45):
stuffy knows, often with cold and often with allergies.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
That's the big thing, is allergy more clear, you know
the discharge, yes, where.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
A cold could be a cold.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Actually you start to get different coloration, so that's a
sign that there's white bud cells in it. So you know,
when you've got clear, it's usually allergies. Okay, so that's
a real good way to actually be able to tell that.
And a sore throat often with a cold. Sometimes with
a sore throat it's more itchy.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
No, Sometimes with an allergy.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Yeah, sometimes with analogy, I meant often with a cold.
And then duration it's usually cold two weeks and the allergies.
It just depends on when it's coming out in your exposure.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Yeah, so you know that's.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
That's kind of the difference. And usually just you know,
from them talking about it and what I observe, we
can usually tell the difference. But we also have something
called electrodournal screening that will actually help us to determine that.
So that's a nice it's a cold cold analogy, right.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Yeah, and then we have that in our office helps
And then as far as being contagious cold, yes, allergy no?

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Correct?

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Yeah. So do the.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Symptoms develop faster slow?

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Oh? For cold or allergies?

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Well, a cold kind of comes on more gradually. The
flu actually hits you like a ton of bricks.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
So when we're actually talking about the two differences on that,
the cold actually comes on usually gradually, and allergies kind
of hits you all of a sudden. Yeah, so it's
something that oh, well, you know, I stepped outside and
my eyes are itchy and my nose started running. So yeah,
that's kind of a dead giveaway.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
Yeah, our poor neighbors.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
She had sunglasses on and her whole eye was swollen.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Yeah, from allergies.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
I've seen quite a few people in with that.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Yeah, so allergies fast symptoms flare up as soon as
you come in contact with an allergen. And you're saying
a lot of it's the tree right now.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Yeah, Oh, it's all any of the trees that have
all yeah blooming. You know, there's certain ones as far
as and this is the time of year for trees.
So if you have the spring allergy, trees are really
a big thing. Like the fall, you're more looking at
rag wee that type of thing. So, you know, different
types of you know, somebody comes in says that, you know,

(06:06):
during the spring, I'm just a mess. Usually it's trees.
If it's the fall, you know, especially right around August,
it's rag lead. If it's spring and fall, it's usually mold.

Speaker 5 (06:18):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Interesting because you kind of get that moldy type of thing,
summer's grasses, so you can determine quite a bit of
those things. And yeah, if it's during the winter, then
it's indoor allergies, right, So you can distinguish.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
Quite a bit.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
And you know if they say, you know, allergies are
a real problem for me, well when do you have them?

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Goes through that again, because that was that's really informative.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Yeah, spring is usually tree allergies, Okay, you know that's
what people really suffer with. You know, it was like
this one poor girl, I've just got, you know, these
terrible allergies. And she had two trees that were right
in her front yard that she was definitely allergic to.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Which is like they probably were beautiful.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Yeah, they were, you know, blooming trees. They were kind
of a cherry type of thing. I said, you know,
you're really allergic to those. And so she said, oh great,
you know what do I do? I said, well, you
can take this stuff, you can chop them down, or
you can move.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
So did she decide take this?

Speaker 4 (07:23):
Yeah, I just take this stuff.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
So let's talk about that. How did you test her?
Was it on the electrodermal.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Screening electrodournal screening. Yeah, one we knew it was spring
type of thing, and she even brought a picture in
of I asked her to yeah, and as we checked it,
it showed up that. But I mean, we can also
do blood test, which is also another way that we
can test all that out, just to be sure, just
to kind of hit it well.

Speaker 6 (07:48):
So spring trees, right fall August, you know, starting in August,
that's the old ragweed, which is a big one that
people all kind of suffer with, and then summer is
usually grasses.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
Oh, I thought there'd be a break somewhere.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
Okayring and now spring and fall, and it's the same
type of allergy. Because it's interesting if you have different allergies,
they kind of show themselves a little bit different, a
little bit different symptoms. But it can be mold and fungus,
you know, as far as on spring and fall and
then winter it's definitely indoor typeologies and dursey.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
You just don't get a break.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Yeah, you can have you know, dust mites is a
big one. So you know, you have your kind of
standard ones and then sometimes looking at for some odd balls.
There's always some odd balls in the group.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
And we're going to talk about how you're diagnosed that
at holistic integration and the treatment. But let's talk about well,
my next question was going to be is the weather
warmer chili? But really what about colds? They're more the
cold weather, right well.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Actually now flu is more common during the cold weather,
but actually they find that summer is actually one of
the more common times to get colds cold, which is interesting.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Yeah, interesting, So you're really differentiating cold and flu.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
You know, I didn't even think of sure.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Well, I mean even then, if you're talking about a cold,
you've got rhinovirus, you got adenovirus, you got the respiratory
sinctal virus. In other words, there's a lot of different
viruses that actually can show up and we call them
all colds, you know what I mean. Yeah, so they're
upper respiratory infections, but we even go in and differentiate

(09:40):
what virus it.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
Is, so you know, those we can treat that, then
we can.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Treat that, and then the virus oftentimes, you know, when
we're talking about discoloration, that's usually when you get into
bacterial infection. So you start out with a viral infection
and then it eventually can become if it's long stay
it can become a bacterial infection. But then also allergies

(10:06):
can kind of set you up for colds and bacterial infections,
you know, for viruses and bacterial because it's a you
have a lot of mucus in through the sinuses, so
it becomes a good breeding ground. Interesting, So you know,
it's sometimes i'm testing someone. You know, this has been
a real interesting year because we've had a lot of

(10:28):
people with problems and it's like, Okay, this was an
allergy that became a virus and now has become a
bacterial infection. So you know, let's you should have been
in earlier and then you know we can You're right,
you want to get those things under control.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
If you're having allergy symptoms, very important to get it
right away.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Right and interesting, and I mean it's nice to actually
treat it naturally. There's a lot of issue is with
over the counter even allergy medicine.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
So I'm going to tell you you're so smart. What did
you run into someone at Dallas who listens to the
radio show. Yeah, another doctor. What did he say?

Speaker 2 (11:17):
He said he wanted to actually see if I was
really that smart or if I was just had a
lot of cue cards.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
That's what I'm thinking. I have my questions and you're
going way beyond that.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
That's great.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
So he's like, oh my gosh, you're walking encyclopedia. He says,
I just want to kind of sit beside you and
soak it all in.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
Yeah, but which was sweet.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
That's what I do every week, but I get to
see you every day. That's right, all right, we'll be
back on allergies are cold? What's the cause of your
running nose? We'll be right back. Does your group or

One of the chiropractic friends who is a soft tissue expert.
His textbook Soft Tissue Therapy is the one used in
medical schools. Heavily used as sort of the bible for
soft tissue work, and as soon as he saw rapid release,
he switched all of his treatments over to the rapid
release because it's much easier on the doctor. You get
quicker results, less painful, much better compliance. So when people

(12:41):
would be coming in for the aggress and they would
be going, I like the results, but I don't know
if I really want to do that, whereas with rapid release,
they come running in and really want that done because
for it, yeah, they're like, okay, we got you carried,
but can I have it again anyway?

Speaker 3 (12:56):
Well, many patients have bottom.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
It's amazing device and incredible results. It's a great way
to get your body relaxed and get those aches and
pains out of your system.

Speaker 5 (13:06):
As you're using the rapid release, So you can see
people go into that deep breathing and going more into
that what we call the pair of sympathetic mode or
the rest and digest.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
Really switches and has a huge effect on the nervous system.

Speaker 5 (13:20):
And the sessions aren't long. You just do a few
minutes in each area.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
One of the patients recently with a massage therapist, so
she was doing a massage on them. She's going, boy,
I'm just having trouble really getting this release. Walked out
got the rapid release and she did it and the
patient was like, Oh my gosh, that's incredible, and she
was saying, you know, I got to use that more
to get those problem areas. It works so much quicker,
so much easier. It just takes off all the stress
of me trying to really work that out, and it's

(13:47):
easier on the patient too.

Robert Praither, host of the Voice of Health Radio, doctor Prayther,
what role can struct your function play? And natural health
for stress.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
Really, a proper division of healthcare should be eighty percent
of all cares should be structure function based, twenty percent
of the care should be disease care based. Is pharmaceutically
and right now, of course we don't have that. Pharmaceuticals
are great for helping with symptoms, but they shouldn't be
used in long term type of use. You have to
get the body working correctly to be able to get

(15:14):
things healed. And so with structure function care, we're going
to be working with the enderconsystem. We're going to be
working with the nervous system. We're going to stimulate the
body to field so that it can't handle the stress.
We can actually do this in a natural type of way,
so we're getting the body healthy again.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
You're listening to the Voice of Health with doctor Robert
Praither of Holistic Integration, the most comprehensive wellness center in
the Midwest. Allergies are cold? What's the cause of your
running nose? So very informative first segment, Thank you, doctor Pray.
There just a lot of clarity on that. And why

(16:44):
is it so important to distinguish between the two.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
You know, the allergy and the cold.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
And then you went even further because we just we
just lump a lot of things into that title.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
Of a cold.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
Sure, and it's very important to know specifically right right
virus it is.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
Yeah, it makes a big difference as far as on
treatment for us because we have something called nosodes and
no sodes, we target the specific virus, so the it's
a homeopathic and so which virus is it, And quite frankly,
for upper respiratory, we have forty six different ones we

(17:24):
can check on.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
So forty six different virus viruses, yeah, and have to
get the specific one right or else.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
And it's interesting because each one has different type of
symptoms associated with it, and they can cause a lot
of other different types of problems. Like the coronavirus has
been well known to actually cause depression, you know, also
long term type of thing, and of course the Stars coronavirus,
you know, the the novel with the whole thing with that.

(17:55):
That's one thing that people don't realize is as they
are dealing with that, COVID depression is one of the
common things that actually occur. So getting that under control
and understanding where that depression is coming from is an
important thing.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
Right.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
So can you have both the cold and allergies at
the same time.

Speaker 4 (18:15):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
As a matter of fact, oftentimes allergies will kick off
your susceptibility to viruses. So showing up that you have
both of those and actually addressing them both is an
important type of thing. And then you can actually then
get a bacterial infection. So one of the problems with
then taking an antibiotic, for it is it suppresses the

(18:37):
immune system. So sometimes the antibiotic actually released some of
the symptoms of the allergies because it suppresses the immune system,
so there's not as much of a response to it.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
Oh interesting.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
So but then as soon as it wears off the antibiotic,
your immune system is actually weaker in the allergies.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
Or much worse after you're off of Yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
So if you've taken an antibiotic and then after you're
off the antibiotic, sometimes what happens, which I've seen before,
is all of a sudden, you know, docum filling great
on this antibiotic, and then they go, oh my gosh,
I just got hit my sinuses and everything is and
instead of you know, treating it as an allergy, they

(19:22):
sit there and say, we'll take another round of antibotic.
And when you're taking an antabotic, it you know, like
a ten days supply. It weakens the immune system for
three months, so your allergies actually can oftentimes increase during
that time. But while you're taking the antibiotic, your allergy
symptoms go down too. But that's why oftentimes people say

(19:44):
that even that they don't have a bacterial infection. When
they take an antibiotic and they have a virus, the
symptoms go away. Doesn't mean actually the virus is taking off.
You're just not responding to it. Yeah, So you know
all the symptoms that we say, you know, I've got
these cold symptoms, Well, that's your body fighting the virus.

(20:06):
So what you want to do is help the body
to actually defeat the virus so it doesn't become a
chronic condition in your system.

Speaker 7 (20:13):
Right.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
So you know, as you're looking at the immune response,
if you have a really really low immune system, you
don't get cold flus, all those types of things, like
you know, what do you mean, I have a weekend
immune system. You know, I never get sick. It's like, well, no,
you get a lot of bacterial viruses. You just your

(20:36):
body doesn't respond. It doesn't have any response to it.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
So they're just dormant.

Speaker 2 (20:41):
Yeah, and they're well, I mean they're actually wrecking havoc
in your system, shying organs and all sorts of stuff.
And then you have the middle ground where most people are,
and you get a cold flu allergies and you respond
like crazy. You know, that's the body fight. And then
you have the superimmune people who also don't get cold

(21:03):
flus and allergies because their immune system is working so
well that they're able to actually respond well. So the
whole reason as far as like allergies, the body doesn't
they think it's a foreign invader. So the way that
when you're doing allergy shots, you're taking a very small

(21:24):
amount of that allergen, yeah, that allergen and putting it
into the system so the body can actually recognize it
and say, oh, that's not really a problem. It actually
can identify it, helps it to understand it better and
know that it's not going to cause any problem. Whereas
and that's basically the principles. So allergy shots are basically

(21:48):
based on homeopathy. That's where they got the idea for it,
because that's what we do is we actually, like, for
a tree allergy, what we'll do is we'll make homeopathics
for it, so it's not actually shots, but it's homeopathic,
which is even more powerful than the allergy shots. And
then we can then desensitize your body to it. And

(22:09):
so we give you the you know, the homeopathic for
the different trees. Right now, it's like, wow, doc, you
know that that works great? So again, you help the body.
The more that the body the immune system works better,
the better your body actually works, so it can identify
what the problem is and what's a reasonable course of

(22:31):
action for the best for the body.

Speaker 1 (22:33):
Yeah, and those homeopathic are they usually liquid?

Speaker 2 (22:36):
Usually liquid? Yeah, I mean you could also make them
into pellets. There's a lot of different ways, and we
have both the ability to make them into liquids or
into pellets.

Speaker 4 (22:46):
So yeah, it's very flexible.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
Now, when should someone consider getting tested for allergies?

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Well, I mean, you don't really want to suffer with
that type of thing, so anytime. My thought is, anytime
you have a stressor on the body, trying to get
it under control is the best thing to do, sooner
the better, you know. It's and a lot of people
put up with it. I've got a lot of people
coming in and just say, oh, I live off a
zyrtec you know type of thing.

Speaker 4 (23:14):
It's like, let us fix.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
That for you, yeah, you know, yeah.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
And get you some natural things that don't cause problems.
Because it's interesting because the pharmaceuticals usually work temporarily, but
then they actually create a problem where it's actually worse.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
As you go along.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
Now, allergy shots do actually fix the problem, but you know,
basically you're dealing with homeopathy on of those lines.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
Yeah, so why do some people get allergies.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
And some don't.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
It's basically how well their immune system is working. The
better your immune system is to actually differentiate those types
of things, and there's a lot of factors on that.
The gut, the gut, the gout is absolutely huge because
you can actually do no punish intended when you sit

(24:04):
there and measure the immune system eighty percent of immune
systems around the gut, and when the immune system around
the god is actually under stress, it produces a lot
of allergic type reactions and it increases your chances of
having those types of things because the body is overwhelmed
with the inflammation in there. But the gout actually then

(24:27):
just increase has a tremendous influence on the inflammatory process
and the weakening of the immune system. So really, you know,
looking at the gut and getting the gut fixed because
we can actually measure how much inflammation is in the god,
and usually how much inflammation is in the gut is
also an indication of inflammation throughout the entire body. More

(24:49):
inflammation you have the more you actually respond in an
inflammatory type of way. Yeah, so makes the god is
a real big issue. Then looking at all sorts, you
know just how the whole body, the liver is working.
The liver's congested and backed up. You know that's also
going to create an inflammatory process, So the liver is

(25:11):
also involved. You know how well is your bone marrow,
your thimus, you know what's your B cells, T cells,
all those different types of things, and is it all
working in harmony and in homeostasis.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
Yeah, which we're all about homeostasis. So inflammation has a
lot to do with If your gut is inflamed.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
Yeah, your chances of having allergies just increase. Right, So
if you're looking for long term relief, get your gut healthy.
And interestingly, probably the biggest thing that helps with the
gout is fiber. Now a very true type of thing.
Is that well our ancestors basically eight seventy five grams

(25:55):
of fiber a day and about fifteen grams of sugar
we as Americans eat a healthy person, it's about seventy
five grams of sugar and fifteen grams of fiber. There's
a lot of people who even some people are actually
taking one hundred and fifty grams of sugar a day,
and that sugar is just very hard on the system,

(26:18):
causes a lot of inflammation. Fiber is again one of
the best cures. If you had one thing to give
a person to make them healthier, increase their fiber. You
have to do it slowly because most people can't handle
that amount of fiber. Their gut can't handle it because
their gut isn't hasn't been used to it. Yeah, but really,

(26:38):
you know, they talk about, you know, the Mediterranean diet,
the vegetarian diet, and it's just that they increase their
fiber intake so much more.

Speaker 3 (26:47):
Yeah, in those diets, right, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
That fiber, fiber, fiber. When you look at the blue zones,
the blue zones are where people live to their hundred, right,
and it's a very common type of thing. The one
thing that's really common among them as far as diet
is their fiber intech. Yeah, they're taking in on a
daily basis about seventy five grams of fiber and they're

(27:11):
cutting their sugar down to about fifteen grams. You'll find
if you have allergies and you eat a whole bunch
of sugar, guess what your allergies are going to go?
Right through the roof your response. You know it's you
can actually feel the inflammation occurring.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
Yeah, all right, when we come back more on testing
and then treatment, We'll be right back. Listen to the

They said, we're going to give you fifteen shots in
your arm. I'm like, what a happy place. And I
thought I'd be alone for that. I wasn't. I was
in a big room. We're all getting shots at the
same time. I'm the only adult. It's all little kids.
So after all this screaming and begging for mercy, the
doctor said to me, please, you're scaring the children.

The Voice of Health Wellness Tip featuring Meredith Sharp of
tallowlc and Planiphilopathecary. So, Meredith, you know everybody talks about
wanting to support local You're growing the ingredients that are
in these products locally just outside of Indianapolis, Yes, on

the East Side, and people can buy those products and
know where they come from. You know. You even invited
people out to your site to see what you're growing
and what you're doing there, which is exciting.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
Well.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
One of our patients, Joy recently wrote about your natural soaps.
She said, I love their products. I have tried lots
of natural soaps over the years, and theirs is the
best one I've ever used. She said her husband likes
the soaps too, So Meredith, tell us about your soaps.

Speaker 8 (29:13):
Oh wow, thank you Joy for writing in. Our soaps
are wonderful. It's the first thing that you use in
your body care routine that can promote overall body health.
Skin is our largest organ, so it's important that whatever
we put on it we know can be absorbed into it.
With the soaps, there's a soap for everyone. We have
soaps that have high mineral contents. We have ones that

(29:36):
have more plant matter. We have large soaps, tallow soaps.
It really just depends on what you're looking for. We
have customers who have messaged just and said, Wow, I
was dealing with a rash for ten years in your
lavender and rose soap was the soap that finally cleared
it up. I think tallow soaps are wonderful because you

(29:58):
feel moisturized when you get out of the shower, when
a lot of people feel dry upon exiting the shower.
It's important to again nourish the whole body when you're
using any type of skincare product, anything that can be
absorbed into the skin.

Speaker 3 (31:54):
Allergies are cold? What's the cause of your running nose?

Speaker 1 (31:58):
And there is a list of four things. How can
you tell if you're suffering from allergies or if it's
just a cold? And if you answer yes to any
of these to one or more of these symptoms, it's
possibly you're suffering from allergies the first one's duration. Have
your symptoms lingered for more than two weeks? Cough?

Speaker 3 (32:19):
Do you have a chronic continual cough?

Speaker 1 (32:23):
Runny nose? Do you have a runny nose? Is the
mucus clear not yellow or green?

Speaker 3 (32:28):
And eyes?

Speaker 1 (32:28):
Do you have itchy, watery, or red eyes? And if
you've answered yes to one or more of those symptoms,
then you're possibly suffering from allergies.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
So good to know.

Speaker 4 (32:39):
Yeah, the eyes are huge.

Speaker 2 (32:41):
Yeah, I can kind of oftentimes just look at somebody's
eyes and tell whether it's allergy or cold.

Speaker 1 (32:46):
Mm hm.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
Now why does that affect the eyes?

Speaker 2 (32:49):
Because it actually it's the pollen hitting the eyes. M
So it's another way that it enters into the bodies
through the eyes.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Would sunglasses help I protecting?

Speaker 2 (33:02):
Yeah, I mean glasses type of thing, you know, it
protects it from.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
But then I hear, don't wear sunglasses so the sun
can go right in the vitamin D y do we
where sunglasses.

Speaker 4 (33:12):
Are not interesting enough?

Speaker 2 (33:14):
You keep your vitamin D up and that helps to
cut down on your allergies and on your colds. So
there's an awful lot of interesting things.

Speaker 3 (33:23):
Yes, a lot of factors.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
And I love my four seasons. I don't want to
give up my four seasons. Sure, but yeah, so you know,
even thinking about people that live down, you know, in
Florida or in the mountains, do they have allergies.

Speaker 2 (33:40):
Too, Well, let me tell you about it. So the
biggest allergy area is the.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
Ohio Valley, the Ohio Valley.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
Yes, And the epicenter of allergies is down in Evansville, Indiana,
because it's the lowest point in the United States, and
so that's a huge area. So Indiana is actually a
really bad area for allergies. Florida is actually because it's

(34:08):
kind of flat and the wind comes through and actually
blows things away. So people find Florida very low on
their allergies.

Speaker 3 (34:17):
Interesting.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
So if you want to experience allergies, moved to Indiana.
Indiana taking care of allergies is probably if you're an
allergist in specializing, Indiana is the place to go because
you're probably you're going to have more people who suffer
from allergies here than almost any place else.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
And then what about even Mold You know, if right,
if we're the lowest you know, if Evansville's the lowest point, doesn't.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
Mold and yes, that's a big factor. So all those
things kind of come together to make Indiana a very
special place for us.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
Yay, we're the hustle, the greater capital.

Speaker 4 (34:59):
Yes, the world.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
Yes, yeah, but I love Indian.

Speaker 4 (35:02):
Yes I do too.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
But I've had so many people who moved here from
different places and they go.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
I do what is it about it? I was fine,
I've never had problems before. Can you help me?

Speaker 1 (35:19):
Oh yeah, And we talked about you know, molds being
more in the spring and fall. We probably need to
do a show on molds before it would be good. Yeah, yeah,
real important. So let's talk about how holistic integration tests
for cold and allergies to identify them.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
There are we have a ton of tests, and we
can do a lot of screenings for lab tests for
all those things, you know, just to see what's going on.
We can do viral tests, but oftentimes we can just
from the symptoms doing the electrodermal screening, we can figure
out most of the time we don't have to do that,

(35:59):
you know, so we can pretty well tell what's going on,
and then we give them the product. You know, I said, Okay,
you know this is going to work if we were
correct on your allergies, and they take it and come
back in and say that's it.

Speaker 4 (36:11):
Duck. Yeah, we can tell yeah.

Speaker 2 (36:16):
And you know, just examining there's certain lymphatic issues that
occur with infections and then there's a different lymph pattern
if it's allergies. So I can actually feel along those
lines and see what's occurring. So how the sinuses actually swell?
Are the U station twos backed up? Which lymph nodes
are actually backed up? Is the liver or the spleen

(36:39):
more reactive?

Speaker 3 (36:40):
And you can pull paint.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
I can pell pay and actually know what's going on.
So I pretty well.

Speaker 3 (36:47):
Can you actually touch the patient.

Speaker 4 (36:49):
I touched the patient I do with their permission.

Speaker 1 (36:53):
Yes, yes, So let's talk about treatment, the treatments that
holistic integration for.

Speaker 2 (36:59):
Allergies, homeopathy is one of our best things. So for viruses,
cold viruses, you know, we can actually run through those
with the electrodermal screening and actually see we can also
do of course, we have blood tests to show up
which ones seem to be kind of like chronic because
once you have sort of a when you have viruses

(37:20):
and they get into the system, you know they're kind
of there permanently and then they flare up, you know,
with the addition of others.

Speaker 3 (37:28):
So we do Virus is always there.

Speaker 2 (37:31):
Viruses, yeah, viruses are kind of forever. So viruses can
actually live on the surface of the sun. So like
shingles is basically chicken pox. That's like dormant. So you
get it as a child and then it sits in
your nervous system. And then when you get old and

(37:52):
decrepit and fatigued, then they flare up through the nurse.
But they've been there forever. So we can actually see
like a you know, chronic epscene bar virus, you know,
that's just sitting in the system.

Speaker 4 (38:06):
You know.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
Really what you do is you get those under control.
You help to train the immune system to be able
to take care of it, you know, and keep it suppressed,
but you never get rid of them. Interesting and then
so you know, building the system. Allergies basically what we
do is we desensitize the body. Now there are acquired

(38:28):
allergies and then there's inherited allergies. IgE is the inherited
you have, the acquired is IgG IgA and IgM, so differentiating,
you know, and food allergies also go right along with that,
identifying which ones are actually occurring, you can do immiglobulin
tests to see those are more severe type of cases.

(38:52):
More mild cases, we don't have to get into that.
We can usually figure all that out just from symptoms
and then electrodermal screen type of thing, and then find
the things and then see the symptoms improve and then
we know that we've nailed it. But in severe cases
we can actually then get in there and start to
test and see and there can be a lot of

(39:13):
underlined type of reasons. Sometimes people don't realize that they
have chronic viral infections that kind of make them susceptible
to other viruses, you know, but we can do blood
tests on that. Also that you can have parasites, so
as we do stool kits, and that increases your immiglobuline
e which makes you much more susceptible to allergies. So

(39:38):
I've had several little kids who basically had eximo all
over their body.

Speaker 3 (39:43):
Ecima, and you know, they were.

Speaker 2 (39:45):
Being treated at riley and other different types of and
with very limited success trying to get that. Oftentimes, now
they're going through biological you know, where they actually suppress
the immune system to get that, which is not going. Yeah,
it's it's not a good long term type of solution.
But then I test them and it's parasites, parasites, and

(40:08):
then the parasites increase the ammiglobuline, which increases, just multiplies
all their allergic reactions. And then what we have to
do is go in there kill the parasites, which natural
products work much much better than the pharmaceuticals, so sometimes
we can. It's just that the plants have learned how

(40:30):
to kill those critters over a long period of time,
and so there's natural types of ways, and we're still
trying to catch up with nature and God. So we
can hit those types of things, get that killed, and
then all of a sudden, the whole inflammatory process, the

(40:50):
skin rashes, all those terrible allergies go away.

Speaker 1 (40:55):
You call them parasites, critters, critters, you.

Speaker 2 (40:58):
Critters, and we need to get the critters under control.
And it's a lot bigger problem than what people realize.

Speaker 3 (41:04):
Yeah, yeah, I think people, I think used to think
it's just a therm woral problem.

Speaker 2 (41:08):
But no, yeah, and different like the lattitude where we're
at in Indiana. Yeah, about sixty five percent of the
people have, you know, some parasites if you get closer
to the equator. Once you get down to the equator,
so pretty much one hundred percent, and you're constantly then
treating for parasites. That's just a natural type of thing.

Speaker 1 (41:30):
Yeah, yeah, so important to get that checked. Okay, when
we come back, we're going to talk about some products
we have at Holistic Integration that help with allergies and colds.

Speaker 3 (41:40):
We'll be right back.

What if your anxiety, depression, brain fog, and mood swings
aren't just mental, but physical misalignments in your structure, imbalances
in your gut, and disruptions in your hormones could be
contributing to your mental health struggles. Join us for a
free holistic integration educational seminar More than Mental because there's
more to mental health that meets the mind. Wednesday, May

(42:39):
twenty eighth at six point thirty pm. You'll hear from
doctor Robert Prayther, host of the Voice of Health Radio.

Speaker 2 (42:45):
The enderconsystem controls so much of the emotion and mental aspect.
Getting that balance out is one of the most important
things that you can do to make changes in people's
mental health. One of the big things that we've seen
is that a drenal cloud can cause anxiety. I've had
people who were like, I'm not quite sure why I'm
so anxious.

Speaker 4 (43:05):
One day, this gentleman.

Speaker 2 (43:06):
Who was actually a very powerful public speaker that was
his main job, looked out at the audience and started
shaking and sweating and said, I can't go on. I
evaluated him. I said, your adrenals are completely shot. With
that type of a response, you're having panic attacks. We
got his adrenals fixed and he started public speaking again.
We used to see people in a dreanal crisis at

(43:29):
about twenty to twenty five percent of the population before
the pandemic, it's one hundred percent. At this point, Acupuncture
for anxiety is the best thing that you can possibly do.
A young man had some health issues. Nobody can figure
out what's going on. They heard about me that we
can usually diagnose what's happening better than anybody else, and
they said, well, can he get some relief today?

Speaker 4 (43:49):
He's anxious, he's depressed.

Speaker 2 (43:50):
As soon as we did that, his mom asked him,
are you feeling better? He said, yes, I am just accuben.

Speaker 1 (43:57):
They had been to Cleveland, Mayompkins, Riley, every place chiropractic
getting the aliset.

Speaker 2 (44:04):
Football players of head trauma. They're finding extreme help through
the Alisarthougument program. So all the football players who have
the head trauma and the personality changes that occur, they
are getting their aliset and actually getting it fixed. Also,
especially the B vitamins are very important for mental health
and for nerve function.

Speaker 5 (44:23):
Well, let's talk about vitamins and minerals that help with
stress and anxiety.

Speaker 2 (44:27):
The copper zinc ratio is extremely important too. If you
have an electrical wire, if you put more copper in,
the wire runs hotter and faster. If you put more
zinc in it slows down the copper wire. The same
is actually true for the nervous system. So if you
want to settle down the system, get it more eased up,
and you give zinc for people. So we have a

(44:48):
lot of people with anxiety disorders that we find a
copper zinc ratio imbalance, get their zinc levels up and
all of a sudden, you've got a new person or
a new child.

Speaker 5 (44:56):
And they can get that check by doing a hair analysis.

Speaker 2 (44:58):
Paranalysis is how you check for the metals. We also
have a neutrovial that checks for the deficiencies and the
vitamins and we can see exactly what's going on along
those lines and know you know where the deficiency is
and how to get that corrected.

(45:58):
with doctor Robert of Holistic Integration, where our mission is
restoring hope to our patients. Allergies are called what's the
cause of your running nose?

Speaker 3 (46:10):
So Dutch prather.

Speaker 1 (46:11):
Let's talk about some of the products we have it
Holistic Integration for allergies.

Speaker 2 (46:16):
Sure, you know when you were talking about homeopathy. Of
course we have the nosods for the virus. We also
have homeopathics for all the different allergens. And we can
even break it down into what's called phenols. So it's
the phenols that people react to for the allergens. What
are phenols, Well, phenols basically is well, I don't want

(46:38):
to get into the chemistry of it. Yeah, but it's
sort of the things that we are immune system used
to identify what it is that's coming in.

Speaker 1 (46:48):
Okay, so we can make those up phenals.

Speaker 2 (46:51):
Right, So one of the phenols that you're very sensitive
to is malvin, and malvin is something that's usually.

Speaker 3 (46:59):
With the color red red tomatoes.

Speaker 2 (47:02):
And then you've also got corsite, and there's all sorts
of different phenols, and if we understand the phenol that
the people are reacting to, which we can test for,
then we can make homeopathics for it, and then we
get a broad range of improvement in the whole allergic reaction.
So we can actually hit the tree specifically, but then
also the phenols that are in the pollens that the

(47:25):
body actually identifies and then reacts to, so you know,
we can really get very specific along those lines. But
then of course on the symptoms, what are we doing.
There's a homeopathy called lufa which dries up the sinuses,
which we can use. There is a standard process product
called antrnex that actually helps to get rid of the

(47:47):
mucus produced by the liver, So it's actually a liver
product because the livery basically produces all that mucus that
your body kind of expels, so we can actually get
that down and get the liver working better. So that's
another way of doing it. We also have a spray
hydrostasis which helps to clean out the sinuses. So if

(48:09):
you have an inflame it's yeah, inflamed, it's homeopathic. If
you have an inflamed toxic sinuses. You can spray that
in there and if it's real bad, it really burns.
You know, people you know, I tell them it's it burns.
You know, that's feeling. And then your sinuses just like drain,
everything drains out of it. So I say, don't take
it and expect to go out. But once the sinuses

(48:34):
are fixed, you spray it up and you don't. It's like, Okay,
I don't even feel it. That means that you're done
with it.

Speaker 4 (48:42):
Wow. M.

Speaker 2 (48:44):
So it's a very good product. Really cleans out the sinuses,
opens that up for those swollen sinuses, does wonders for it.
And then we have several different other We have dhists,
we have a Creso Forte. There's a lot of different
types of products that we have for the sinuses.

Speaker 1 (49:02):
We have homeopathics for.

Speaker 2 (49:05):
Yes, it actually takes care of the histamine reaction. We
also have homeopathics along those lines. So in other words,
we've got a lot of different types of ways of
working with it. Sometimes we want to drive up the sinuses.
Sometimes we wanted to get it to flow. It all
depends on what we're dealing with to get things fixed,
and we've seen a lot of people go through the

(49:27):
whole issues like I had. One guy came in and
he says, you know, because we had treated him for
every time he would most so he had grass allergies
and we put him on some products and interesting enough,
one of the big things was magnesium. Is we got
his magnesium up really cut down as an allergic reaction.
Interesting so stress was basically one of the inflammatories that.

Speaker 1 (49:48):
He had, and stress causes inflammation.

Speaker 2 (49:52):
Yeah, and he had come in, you know, as far
as during the summer. He says, yeah, Doc, you know,
I'm mowing now and I don't seem to need so somehow.

Speaker 4 (49:59):
I got old.

Speaker 2 (50:00):
Were the allergies on my own? You know, actually taking
it for two years might have cured you.

Speaker 4 (50:08):
So oh, I hadn't even thought about that.

Speaker 3 (50:11):
Huh.

Speaker 4 (50:12):
I just thought I did it on my own.

Speaker 2 (50:15):
And so, you know, which is fine, you know, don't
have to give us credit for it. But you know,
you also look at just the basic types of things.
You look at vitamin d iodine, what's your vitamin C levels,
you know, all those different types of things to really
get your system working right.

Speaker 1 (50:32):
Yeah, let's talk about the other things. Services and tools
we have at holistic integration.

Speaker 2 (50:38):
Well, one of the direct things that people love to
get over these symptoms is our diathery. Yeah, it's a
big magnet. We use it to clear out the sinuses,
clear up the ears, clear out the lungs, get the
congestion out of the liver spleen. So we use it
both for colds and analogies.

Speaker 1 (50:55):
Well, yesterday I got on it for the liver and
spleen I was having and some digestive issues that you
know were causing some inflammation.

Speaker 3 (51:04):
I was on that.

Speaker 1 (51:05):
When I got off, I just went to the restroom
and purged.

Speaker 3 (51:11):
Oh my gosh. Yes, yes, yeah.

Speaker 1 (51:14):
So helpful that dieth And we use it for the
Eustachian tubes.

Speaker 2 (51:18):
Sure to open that up for kids with ow titus media.
I mean actually, so people are all congested and afterwards
they're like, I can breathe again. I mean, it's an
immediate type of response with that particular physiotherapy unit. Yeah,
so just a huge answer along those lines. Yeah, you
know other things chiropractic. Chiropractic because you're getting the autonomic

(51:40):
nervous system inbound sympathetic pair sympathetic opening up the vaguel nerve.
That makes a big difference on how the immune system responds.
People say, after I've my alergies, you know, I don't
have to worry about them anymore now that my neck
and back is in line. Yeah, because it makes that
big of a difference and system. So looking at that acupuncture,

(52:03):
we'd use that to relieve sinus pressure, get the system going.
And again people say, wow, big difference along those lines.
So we have a lot of different types of tools
in our belt. You know, we have electrical stem, all
those different types of things. And as people have those treatments,
they sit there and say, what's nice is you go

(52:25):
to a medical doctor and you know, you come out,
but you don't feel better when you come to our office.
You leave feeling better than when you came in. And
that's very satisfying.

Speaker 1 (52:39):
Yes, it's very rewarding, very rewarding. Well, we just have
under a minute. Anything else you want to share on
this subject act to prey there.

Speaker 2 (52:46):
Well, I think one thing is people kind of suffer
with things and it wears you want to improve your
health in every single way, you know, and not letting
things accumulate. Oh, I can live with it. It wears out
your body. It's also a sign that things aren't working
quite right. If you're interested in improving your health and
well being, you take those things and then run with it. Yeah,

(53:10):
and again, eighty percent of all care should be structure
function based, which we do at our office. Twenty percent
should be disease care. There are definite times for pharmaceuticals
and surgeries, but really the main thing is structure function
care is the basis.

Speaker 4 (53:24):
Of your health.

Speaker 3 (53:24):
All right, well, thank you doctor PreK.
