separate times to answer when asked if he'd accept more
police funding for five thousand cops and whether or not
it would help safety and law and order in Chicago.

been doing on cracking down successfully on crime and our

And so far President Trump's efforts to combat crime in
our nation's capital, it is paying massive dividends. This morning,
Attorney General Pam Bondi posted an update on x announcing
that last night, another eighty seven arrests were made and
illegal firearms were seized. President Trump has taken common sense
steps to reduce filent crime, law and order, safety security.

As I said last night, it is a prerequisite for
any American to pursue happiness and should be on board
with that. Should not be an issue red and blue. No,
it should be red, white and blue. But inexplicably, the
left ones no part of the effort to make our
country safe and secure for you and your families. This morning,

Politico sounded the alarm for Democrats, saying that if Trump's
latest actions were an attempt to go Democrats into saying
crime isn't a problem, they did not disappoint. And there's
no better example than Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, who has
gone into full blown meltdown mode over President Trump's efforts
to take on crime and keep people safe. He was
(07:50):
appearing on msdnc's Liberal Mourning Joe. Mayor Johnson refused five
separate times to answer when asked if he'd accept more
police funding for five thousand cops and whether or not
it would help safety and law and order in Chicago.

Watch him duck and dodge and weave. Take a look.
Speaker 5 (08:11):
I'm curious, would you also like to get federal funding
to help put five thousand more cops on.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
The street in Chicago. Would that help drive down crime?

Well, Look, policing by itself is not the full strategy.

I understand if you've talked about the other things you want.
Would five thousand more police officers on the street in
Chicago be helpful to go along with all of those
social programs and a lot of cities are engaging in
and having success with.

Look, here's the best play I can put it, Joe,
is that in the nineties when I was in high school,
we had three thousand more police officers and we had
nine hundred people being murdered every single year in Chicago.
It's just not policing alone. Of course we won't so, of.

Do you believe that the streets in Chicago would be
safer if there were more uniformed police officers on the
streets of Chicago?

I don't believe that we should narrow it down to

on the streets in Chicago help complement those programs to
make Chicago safer.

But if you are in a party that supports defund, dismantle,
no bail laws, reimagining the police, sending in the social

for a stronger police presence in his city. And the

problem goes back decades. We have been scrolling on this
program the names of people shot and killed and shot
and severely injured in Chicago since Obama was president. But
liberal Illinois politicians are so blinded by their rage and
hatred of all things Donald Trump. They don't care. They've
done nothing. They're ignoring their own residents. Please for safety.

Make no mistake. As a country, we are at an
ideological tipping point. Usually we say that during election years

themselves on the wrong side of common sense. And so,
you know, we've seen twelve days in Washington, d C.
For example, with not a single homicide. That's probably six
or seven young men who are the usual victims who

are still alive. At the same time, in Chicago, just
the last weekend, you had six people murdered, including a
five year old boy that could have been Washington, DC.

Those families.

Those communities in Washington that are now safe are thankful
to President Trump, and those communities in Chicago, in New York,
in those other blue cities that have descended into chaos,
they want Donald Trump to come and rescue them as well.
It plays very well for him. It is common sense,
it's compassion, it's humanity. And the Democrats have they've lost

the plot.

Trump making sure that Washington, d c. Is safer, and
indeed today it is safer than it was just a
mere twelve days ago. But you're right, they don't have
a plan. And yet what they're doing is trying to
mock and trying to emulate Donald Trump. And listen, those
swing voters when they have they go into the ballot

box here in twenty twenty six, if they have a
choice between someone pretending to be Donald Trump and the
real Donald Trump, they're going to pick him every time
because his policies are working, he cares about them, and
it won't take a Chicago mayor to have to figure
out that five thousand more cops on the streets will

make Chicago safer.

social media style while ignoring massive problems in his own

smart politics for Republicans to push crime. But for Donald
Trump it is more than politics. If you sit with him,
which I know at least two of you have, and
perhaps all three of you have, he is serious about

the loss of life and war. He is serious about
the loss of life in crime. So the politics is
absolutely idiotic on the left to sit there and argue
my hometown of Spartmer would take more cops.

But who would turn down police presence because it's the
ultimate deterrent. So it's smart politics. But more than that,
it's just good policy keeping people alive. You can argue

but if you were dead or living in fear, nothing
else matters. And if the Democrats keep with this squad

mentality of no prison, no police, they will be a
minority party for the remainder of our lives.

What will be the defining issues in twenty six when
we have a midterm.

Well, I mean, like who really knows at that stage.
I think the economy is going to be crucial, and
that's still a work in progress. But you know, unfortunately
for Donald Trump, he fixes things like the bleeding border
and he really gets no credit for it. It was
the same in his first term. You know, you fix
a problem, so it's not a problem anymore. People forget

about it and they move on to the next problem.
So I'm not sure that the border and crime is
going to be such a big issue for him, all
his common sense policies. I think in the end it's
going to be people's hip pockets.

What will drive the election. Usually it's peace and prosperity.

is we have safer community, safer border. We have a
president will not only put forth an agenda, but he

report card will be that Donald Trump got an A
plus on delivering. And that's why they'll show up and

off the Oregon coast could erupt later this year. Scientists
