Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hitting everyone. I'm Laura Ingram. This is the Ingram Angle
from Washington tonight.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
As always, thank you for spending time with US President
Trump seven months in hitting a stride.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
Are you getting tired?

Speaker 4 (00:11):
Are you getting tired? I'm looking at these days. They
look like they have no problem, but it's amazing. I
want to thank you if you want, you know, it's
been a long time. If you want, we could go
in and we can call it a day's question.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
And Biden's first seven months, he had one cabinet meeting.
It was in I believe April of twenty twenty one.
Trump has had seven. Now, this was a this is
one for the ages. It was record breaking, three hours,
seventeen minutes.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
We didn't have this problem with Biden. He was hit
and out very quickly.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
He hit everything from the National Guard in DC.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
Those are tough troops to those are not politically correct trips.
We don't have politically correct anymore. We have tough guys,
tough people, including some tough women.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
To the engagement of the couple that everyone loves to love,
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelcey.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
Yeah, I think it's I think he said a great
player I think he's a great guy, and I think
that she's a terrific person. So I wish they're a
lot of luck.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Okay, Trump gracious and funny. I mean, she endorsed Kamala Harris.
It's all water off his back.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
The President touted a lot of the administration's accomplishments. Of course,
even one he admits he can't take credit for.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
I did not get two hundred and fifty. Okay, the
two hundred and fifty anniversary I did not get. I'd
like to claim it if I might, but I didn't
get that. That was whether I was president or not.
It was still two hundred for I'd like to take
credit for. What I will take credit for is we're
going to have a better celebration under Trump than you
would have had under some study.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
The Olympics and World Cup. He talked about that as well.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
And the President and his cabinet, they want to understand this.
They're working hard, not for consultants, not for the elites,
but for you, the American people. Secretary of State Marco
Rubio chimed.

Speaker 5 (02:09):
In, you were like that as the president of working Americans,
and that's why this Labor Day is so meaningful for
me personally. This is the most meaningful labor day of
my life as someone was four jobs and so that's true.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
It was funny.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
I mean I could have watched this all day think
about Biden and how Harris would have been.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Just keep your mind focused on that.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
And now two rebrands, two flops, and one awakening.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
That's the focus of tonight's angle. Well. Well, well we have.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Breaking news tonight, just in from Fox Business.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
We got a statement. It's from Cracker Barrel.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
It's doing a U turn on its disastrous rebrand.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Here's the state.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
We thank our guests for sharing your voices and your
love for Cracker Barrel.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
We said we would listen, and we have.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Our new logo is going away and our old timer
will remain.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Well, that's good news.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
They didn't make any statement on their lousy interior renovations,
making that all look white and bland.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
But we're waiting for that turnaround as well. That might
take a.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
While, but it was an admission of failure and a
move to stop what appeared to many to be a
woke rebranding of an iconic restaurant chain. But despite their
U turn, it's worth remembering and understanding how this happened.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Now.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Last year, CEO Julie Messino rolled out her three year
plan to freshen up the restaurant chain.

Speaker 6 (03:48):
Our goal is to take what people love about Cracker
Barrel and open the aperture a little bit so that
more people love Cracker Barrel. So we want to appeal
to all generations.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Sounds nice.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
So they planned too slow, but surely undermine what the
brand stood for all along, which was Americana. It was
a feel that hearkens back to a simpler time.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
We all know it.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
But like all propaganda, the goal for the time of
the rebrand was to convince you that the rebrand is
what people really wanted.

Speaker 6 (04:19):
Not only are our guests loving in them. They're saying
things like lighter, brighter, fresher, feels like my Cracker Barrel,
but they're also saying it's still the warm, warm hospitality.
It's still the food that I love. The decorus still
on the walls. They love it, and our team members
love them as well.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Friends of mine says say, it looks like a veterinarian office.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
But Julie kept going. The hard cell kept happening.

Speaker 6 (04:43):
In June, the feedback in the buzz is so good,
not only from our customers, but from our team members.
They want to work in a wonderful restaurant, So we're
doing everything for our guests and our team members.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Well that was August, obviously, but the consumers we know
now revolted the stock. Well it I'd been struggling for
a while, but the decline over the last three weeks
since that new logo rollout was a disaster. Sorry for
the punt, it hit the bottom of the barrel. So
what was the motivation here? Because when you really think
this through, no one in his or her right mind

(05:17):
would have thought that going from this featuring Uncle Herschel
to this blah computer generated nothing would have appealed to
core customers in Paducah, Kentucky, or east Ridge, Tennessee.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
So what did happen? Was this a simple corporate booboo.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Or was this actual hostility to traditional country culture somewhere
in the corporation itself. Online commentator Robbie Starbuck pointed to
Cracker Barrel board member Gilbert Davila, who was put on
the board interestingly during the height of the George Floyd hysteria.
Starbuck asked what qualified David left for this board seat. Well,

(05:58):
he owned a Dei consulting strategy firm for fifteen years
that focuses on pushing DEI and DEI advertising.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Huh. Well, do you think David La or Dabila, with
his background and.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
His views, loved the idea of any rebrand or any
brand celebrating country culture From Fox Business. Davila's LinkedIn page
states that he's widely recognized for his multicultural market knowledge
and its proven track record on how to best embed
multicultural perspective into a corporation's entire operation. Well, that's what

(06:36):
it sortainly looks like. Might have happened here in twenty twenty.
Cracker Barrel was feeling the heat, remember, and he put
this woke fool on its board. So a lot of
people thought, well, it just deserved everything it was going
to get for ditching what made them special and in
the process insulting Middle America and giving into corporate groupthink. Well,
Trump thought, look, he saw this, and he was beingnanimous.

(07:01):
He urged them to do a U turn, saying Cracker
Barrel should go back to the old logo and admit
a mistake. Based on customer response, the Ultimate poll and
manage the company better than ever. They got a billion
dollars worth of free publicity if they play their cards right.
Very tricky to do, but a great opportunity. Well again,
Trump is right again, I mean, and they did exactly

(07:22):
what he said to do, except for the bad renovations
on the inside of the restaurants. But let's go to
the Democrat Party because their party's rebranding effort makes Cracker
Barrels look like Steve Jobs return to Apple in the
early nineties.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
They got their tushes handed to them last election.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
They're losing voters across multiple demographics their customer base because
of their terrible policies. They're woke pro criminal, pro illegal alien,
pro trans nonsense that has led to a revolt of
normal people from party ranks.

Speaker 7 (07:56):
The Democratic brand right now has about the appeal the
American voter as the cracker barrel rebrand has with the
American consumers. Bad, bad, bad, What are you doing? Oh
my goodness, gracious?

Speaker 1 (08:10):
So how do they turn it around?

Speaker 2 (08:12):
Well, at their strategy meetings they keep show casing what
the voters rejected last.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Time, but then they turn up the nasty.

Speaker 8 (08:20):
The privilege of my lifetime was stand beside someone we
know was the most qualified and would have been a
fantastic president. In a president Harris, we wouldn't wake up
every day to a bunch of on TV and a
bunch of nonsense. We would wake up to an adult
with compassion and dignity and vision and leadership doing the work,

(08:41):
not a manchild trying about whatever's wrong with him. May
his fat ankles find something today.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
So you actually have to be really funny to make
that work. Imagine being a party that thinks they lost
in November to Donald Trump because.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
That guy wasn't clear enough.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
About the issues he just referenced, were because they didn't
sell Kamala Harris enough, or because they weren't pro Dei enough.

Speaker 8 (09:11):
We're not shying away from diversity as a strength and
equity as a goal, and inclusion being the air we breathe.
That's what we should be doing now.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
When Republicans kick off big meetings, they begin with a
solemn prayer and maybe the national anthem to celebrate America.
But the DNC they want a signal to everyone that
they hate the American story.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
Let's talk about the land for a second. The DNZ
acknowledges and honors the Dakota Yata, the Dakota people who
are the original stewards of the lands and waters of Minneapolis.
As Democrats, I ask of every one of you to
not allow land acknowledgements like these. Simply be the checking
of a box. Be curious, ask questions.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Ask questions. Okay, the Democrats are phonies on this issue,
because I know she wants to ask one. Don't just
check a box. Well, let's settle this once and for all,
shall we, Democrats? If you think we're living on stolen land,
put your money in your property where your meaningless words
are right now, and give the land back to the tribes.

(10:21):
So Tim Waltz, move out of your house and Viking Stadium. Sorry,
bye bye, and all of Hennepin County in Minneapolis, a
Dinah Country Club, Lake Minnetonka.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
Give it all up, Liberals or shut up man.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
The Democrats they are just simply lost. And Trump he
knows it.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
A new box that they've fallen into. His crime. There
was a consultant on one of the shows as Sportia
is watching. I thought he was very good, and he's
a Democrat consultant, and he was screaming no, no, don't
let him do this to you. Don't let It's another trap.
It's another trap. Trump is saying he's against crime and

(11:03):
they're for crime. He's going it was funny. No, it's
a trap. Don't do it.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
But they can't help themselves.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
Failed mayors like Chicago's Brandon Johnson. They throw down the
race card because that's all they can do. They don't
want to address the real problems. We're going to explode
that later on in the show. But their attempt to
deflect questions about runaway crime, it's not working. As a
CNN reporter found when interviewing Chicago residents about the supposedly

(11:35):
improving crime rate, my.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
First we actually was they this is a good thing.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
I think that the governor as well as the mayor
should be on board with it, just so we can
get a bit more of security in Chicago the way
do we need.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
The crime has dropped since twenty twenty four. Do you
feel like the city it feels safer?

Speaker 9 (11:53):
No?

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Not at all.

Speaker 6 (11:55):
No, especially with the police being declined.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
Did the reporters like, can I buy a vowel?

Speaker 6 (12:00):
So?

Speaker 2 (12:01):
She likes Trump's idea of federalizing some of the law
enforcement to improve the city safety, and she doesn't think
crime is getting better. The Democrat rebrand odyssey is just
another ride on their carousel of failure. But it's all
they know, standing in opposition to Trump and common sense.

(12:23):
So they're simply incapable of dropping their support for trans athletes,
even knowing their views are overwhelmingly unpopular. And again, Donald Trump,
better than anyone else out there, knows how to capitalize
on their spiral.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
They said, that's an eighty twenty. No, it's a ninety
seven to three. You can't have a seven foot guy
playing basketball with the women, and just one of those
little problems in life. And we all have our place
sets Okay, I've got my place too.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Of course, Democrats don't believe they have a policy problem,
not on that issue.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
Not on any issue.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
They think it's just all a messaging problem. Again, this
is stupid radicalism and a refusal to admit that they
need to appeal not to a fringe, not to the
same liberal elites who got them into this mess, but
to a core constituency, working class Americans. And you don't
need to be a rebranding consultant to tell you what

(13:23):
they want.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
The middle class, regular people.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
They want safe streets, they want decent education for their kids,
and they want a real shot at prosperity. And that's
what Donald Trump is delivering results and that is the
best branding of all.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
And that's the angle.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
We are delighted now to be joined by our old
friend Charlie Kirk, founder and CEO of Turning Point USA.
Charlie Cracker Barrel cracked your reaction to this breaking news.

Speaker 4 (13:53):
Yes they have.

Speaker 10 (13:55):
I'll tell you what, President Trump, he runs both the
Democrat Party because basically everything the Democrat Party says is
just against Trump. So he gets to determine the entire
agenda the Democrat Party and now he runs Cracker Barrel
all from the Oval Office, just on truth social I'll
tell you what. It's an amazing test case to show
the similarities between the two because both the Democrat Party
and their attempted rebrand and Cracker Bell. It shows that

(14:19):
when you market test in Brooklyn, you lose in Birmingham, Alabama,
when you try to just always pander towards a small
subset of elite opinion of out of touch actors, and
then you have contempt and bitterness for the very country
that you either wish that they want to buy your
products from or to vote from you. So there is
this very interesting connective tissue here, and it's not worth overthinking.

(14:41):
By the way, you look at the ridiculous logo that
Crackerbereller thought was a good idea. Those are the same
people that thought that a bunch of people in Pennsylvania
were going to come out in a lot of numbers
for Kamala Harris like oh yeah, which they're going to
be super excited for it.

Speaker 6 (14:55):
That The.

Speaker 10 (14:58):
Big takeaway here, though, and I think this is important,
is that the middle part of the country, they do
not want to see their traditions and their customs and
the things that they have come to love and appreciate
taken from them. The Democrat Party has done that. So
much of Trump's base are former Democrats, and they became trumplkins,
if you will, Trump Republicans because of the working class

(15:19):
basis the same thing with Cracker Barrel. And the reason
why they saw such a huge response is they said, no,
not again, You're not going to take yet another institution.
He had another restaurant or Uncle Herschel from us. We've
had enough stolen from us. That's what we love Trump
and we want Cracker Barrel the way it should be.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
But you know, look, we don't know the exact rationale
that went into this rebrand of Cracker Barrel, but it
seems pretty.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
Obvious, right.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
I mean, I don't know if Starbucks point on this
is right who pointed to that one DEI member of
the board, but certainly his background would since it would
tell us that there was something going on here with
a multicultural push. But in the process they offended a
lot of people. And just like the Democrats are doing,
Charlie on the issue of crime, you saw that African

(16:08):
American woman saying they basically she would welcome what Trump's
doing in Chicago, but they don't care. They don't care
what regular people want. They simply are ignoring it.

Speaker 10 (16:21):
No, and they're so disconnected from the regular body politic.
And I love what President Trump is doing, by the way,
with crime in Washington, DC. I think this needs to
be a template for the rest of the country. As
someone who grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, I
can tell you Chicago desperately needs it right now, and
especially other cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles. I
think we need to now say we're not going to

(16:42):
put up with crime anymore. And that is a quality
of life issue that impacts every single American. And I'm
telling you there's something very real happening in the black community.
They're talking, they're listening, and they're seeing that they have
safer streets, they have better ways to school, and their
quality life has tangibly improved. President Donald Trump deals in
reality while the Democrats are too worried about abstractions and

(17:03):
living in the clouds.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Charlie, did you also notice and have you noticed that
President Trump just seems a lot happier.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
This time around.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
Right, He's been run through the gauntlet, gone through so much,
but he's truly enjoying this job. They didn't let him
enjoy it last time around, but he's and it's kind
of infectious. It's just it's fun. I mean, you know,
I took him to task on the six hundred thousand
Shinese students issue last night, and I'm still maintaining my
position on.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
That, come hell or high water. But look at how
much fun he's having and magnanimous he is as well.

Speaker 10 (17:40):
I completely agree. I was going to mention that for
three hours straight, you just kind of saw the master
at work. And I think there was some point of
it where the President looked around his all star team
and his team roster of patriots. He said, boy, this
is a lot different than it was half that room
in Trump one point zero. Either secretly hated Donald Trump,
wanted some sort of twenty fifth amendment, push was actively

(18:03):
working with the deep state against him back in from
one point zero. And either that or they weren't even
good at their job, and now he has this cast
of all stars. I loved listening to it. I learned
a lot hearing kind of the status report. What you
saw with the American people saw for three hours on
full display. The cameras were allowed in the Board of
Directors meeting of the US government. We were allowed in

(18:23):
the room. That's why they hate Donald Trump, because he
brings the American people and we had a seat.

Speaker 9 (18:28):
At the table.

Speaker 10 (18:28):
Usually that stuff happens in the shadows of behind the scenes.
You've got a three hour, uninterrupted, unedited window into how
our government is running and operating. And I totally agree
President Trump is running a masterclass. He looks light, happy
and joyful. The Democrats are hall monitoring scolds and that's
why our party has gained four million net new voters
since twenty twenty. Our party is as hot as a pistol,

(18:51):
as President Trump would say.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Charlie, a friend of mine at UVA who's a freshman,
said the Turning Point USA group on campus is on
fire and he's joining and I'll.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
Tell you who it is later.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
But anyway, good job on that, because that continues to explode.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
Charlie kirk as always, thank you so much. And coming up.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
States now risking losing federal funding if they do not
put Americans first. Our exclusive interview with a transportation secretary,
Another all star in the cabinet, Sean Duffy.

Speaker 9 (19:18):
Next Democrat lawmaker charged with assaulting federal agents laughs off
fundraising questions. Representative Lamonica mcliver allegedly slammed forearm into ice
offices during Newark detention facility confrontation. Representative Monica mcliver, DNJA

(19:45):
refused to answer Fox News' questions over weatherhum motivations for
storming a federal immigration detention center earlier this month was
to increase her public image. After it was uncovered mcliver
had been fundraising off the inn that has led to
federal charges for the New Jersey Democrats. The Department of

(20:05):
Justice publicly outed federal charges against mcleivor on Tuesday, accusing
her of allegedly assaulting, impeding, and interfering with law enforcement.
Earlier this month, at Newark area immigration detention facility known
as Delaney Horn, McLever was also there with two other
members of Congress to conduct what they claimed were their
congressional mandated oversight duties, as well as Mayor of Newark,

(20:29):
New Jersey, Ras Baraka, who was subsequently arrested following the
incident but later had his charges dropped. Congresswoman, would you
be able to tell us what made you decide to
fundraise off the incident the charges? Mcgever was asked no comment,
mcgev said, as she laughed off the reporter asking the question,

(20:53):
have a wonderful day. How do you respond to people
who might think that's why you went to the ice facility,
that you wanted to fundraise off of it? But the
follow up question went unanswered as the congresswoman repeatedly ignored
the reporter's questions and instead focused her attention on the

(21:13):
discussion with her staff that were accompanying mcgiver at the time,
any comment Congresswoman on the fundraising, anything you could have
done differently to avoid the charges. On Tuesday, Fox News
Digital uncovered mcliver was fundraising off her charges shortly after

(21:34):
they came down from the Justice Department. Investigators accused McLever
of assaulting two federal agents at the Laney Hall. According
to the charging documents, law enforcement says mcliver assaulted the
agents where she slammed her forearm into the body of
a uniformed immigration official while trying to restrain the agent

(21:55):
by forcibly grabbing him. Macleiver also allegedly tried to block
agents from arresting Barika, and after he was put in handcuffs,
allegedly pushed an ICE officer and used her four arms
to forcibly strike the agent. As you know, Trump is
using his Department of Justice to target political opponents. Less
than two weeks ago, I was doing my job and

(22:16):
conducting oversight at an ICE facility in my city. A
fundraising text obtained by Fox News did Draw stated, now
the Trump admin has filed charges against me. This is
the first time first and it's flashing red light for
our democracy. It continues. I'm sounding the alarm and asking
you to donate now so we can fight these charges

(22:37):
and keep speaking truth to power. Trump administration agrees to
pay Ashley Babbitt's family five million dollars. Actually Babbitt was
shot dead during the January sixth riot inside the Capitol.

(22:57):
The Justice Department has agreed in prints able to pay
five million dollars to the family of Ashley babbitts, a
former Air Force veteran who was shot dead during the
Capitol riot on January sixth, twenty twenty one. Fox News
has learned Babbitt's estate, through her husband Aaron, filed a
thirty million dollar lawsuit last year over her fatal shooting

(23:19):
when she attempted to climb through the broken window of
a barricaded door leading to the Speaker's lobby inside the Capitol.
Attorneys for both the Justice Department and Babbitt's estate said
during a court hearing on Friday that they had reached
an agreement in principle to resolve the case. According to
the reports, Bbbitt was one of hundreds of President Donald

(23:43):
Trump supporters who entered or attempted to end to breach
the US Capitol during the riot after Congress fell to
the certified President Joe Biden's election win. Video clips postal
Online depicted Babbitt wearing stars and stripes and a Trump
flag draped around her neck, stepping up and beginning to

(24:04):
go through the waist high opening of an area of
the Capitol known as Speaker's Lobby. When a gunshot is heard,
she could be seen falling backwards. Another video showed other
unidentified people attempt to lift Babbitt up. She could be
seen slumping back to the ground. Burbot was rushed to

(24:25):
Washington Hospital Center, but could not be saved. The Capitol
Police officer who shot her was cleared of wrongdoing by
the U. S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia,
which concluded that he acted in self defense and in
defense of members of Congress. The Capitol Police also cleared
the officer. United States Capitol Police Chief J. Thompson Manager

(24:50):
sent a messenger to his department's officer earlier this month
after hearing of the proposed settlement, writing that he was
extremely disappointed. Twenty one, the DJ said there was no
evidence to show that law enforcement broke the law. After
a foreign investigation, it was determined to be a justified
shooting Manjoe wrote. According to the Washington Post, this settlement

(25:13):
sends a chilling message to the law enforcement officers across
our nation, especially those who have a protective mission like ours,
