I've got to be talking atle bit about the digital certificate.

If you haven't got the digital certificate yet, there's reasons
why you should get it. It can be very very
helpful in Spain. So I'll be going over that a
little bit. Also, speeding tickets in Spain. There's a scam
going around at the moment with speeding tickets and you
might have been aware of that. If not, I'll be
telling you a little bit about that, and also some
more news and tips on advice on living and work

in Spain. So that's all coming up on my show

Ryan Air on the news again this week cutting over
a million seats on their flights to Spain. They say
it's due to the Spanish increase in the airport taxes
going up to six and a half percent for airport
taxes there, and they say Ryan Air say that this
is affecting them and they are big cutting over a
million seats on flights to Spain. This is mostly the
(02:22):
smaller airports. They're still going to be fixing on their
main airports in Spain. So yeah, a million fewer seats.
So I saw last week I think it was they're
doing flights to up in the Barcelona area for seventeen
pounds seventeen pounds from the UK. I don't know how
they can do that. It cost me seventeen pounds for
a taxi to the airport from where I live, so yeah,

seventeen pounds for flights they are cheap lover, love them

chair aerobics. Chair aerobics isn't just about having the afternoon.
A bit of hot chocolate on a Friday afternoon and

a very good afternoon to Martin Johnnis in the comment section,
and Martin straight In with a question now about paying
his non resident here in Spain. Well, Martin, yeah, I
can tell you exactly what you can do there. First
of all, if you've got your digital certificate. I'm going
to be talking about that a little bit later on
the show. It's quite straightforward. You can do that yourself
(04:12):
with no judges at all. You go over to your
digital certificate. All you need is your details, your NIE number,
and you can do that and pay that online straightaways, instant. Now.
I've done a lot of this with my wife, my
Spanish wife, and whenever we get air taxes through, we
do it on the computer with the digital certificate. And
when we did our last tax returns, I wasn't sure
(04:32):
how much we needed to pay or what we you know,
it was all about. She just set it all in
the computer, clicked on the buttons, pressed it and it
was sent. And within seconds of it being sent, we
got a reply bank saying exactly how much we'd paid
and how much rebate we get because we've got a
rebate this year and that was paid within seven working days.
(04:53):
So it's really really quick, very fast to do. But
that's one way you can do it. If you want
to do it a different way, then I have got

talking about the digital certificate A bit of a tongue
twist to that, and it digital certificate. Yeah, it's something
a lot of British people don't actually download or do,
but it's very simple to do, very easy to do,
and you can do so many things with it. Now.
You can pay your taxes, you can consult your taxes
and get rebates, all sorts of things to do with
(06:22):
taxes that can be done instantly, and it really really
is instantly as well. Over on the certificate, you can
check your social security details, you can make sure everything's
right and that respect, public health matters, making appointments and
things like that. You can do all of that. You
can sign official documents with a special digital signature as well.
(06:43):
You can check your fines, you can pay for fines
through the digital certificate, and you can consult property matters
and record details all done over there on that as well.
And traffic information driving related subjects all done on the certificate.
So if you don't know about this, I've got a

how to download it, how you can go through the
process of setting it up yourself. It's fairly straightforward. It's
very easy to do, but anything done officially now, government
websites anything like that. You can do it all without
leaving your armchair. I wrought with the digital certificates, so
if you haven't yet checked it out, please go and
check it out. There's some information on my website davidryoightonline

to how to get it set up. And it was
really really worth getting because you can save a lot
of time and money and stress doing it that way.
And yeah, also talking about speeding tickets. So there's a
scam that I nearly got caught out with this week.
Had a message, a text message from the traffic coat
(07:46):
and it was all very official looking, the message and everything,
and it was just in a bit of a funny
space in my head and I clicked on the link,
which I shouldn't have done, and it looked very very official,
leading me to pay a fine of thirty five euros
for speeding ticket. The reason that I was sort of
taken in with this, I didn't actually pay it, but
I was about to. I thought about paying it. I've
(08:09):
had four speeding tickets. They have been a bit of
anrdy boy on my new minder bike but I've had
four speeding tickets, all done through the cameras here, you know,
the speed cameras got caught out and there this was
a scam asked me to pay. So I thought, yeah, well,
I've been out on the bike a lot this week.
I have been speeding a little bit, so maybe I've
got to pay this ticket. And I thought, we'll hang
on a minute. I just double checked this, so I
clicked on the link, typed in the link in my
(08:31):
ur L on my PC and it came up as nothing.
So I waited till my wife got home. She checked
it out online because she works for the Spanish government,
and she said, yeah, it's a fraud, it's a scam,
and I checked my with my digital certificate. I have
had some fines and they're paid and there isn't the problem.
So if you get a fine through speeding ticket, if
(08:53):
it's on the spot by the police, you get a
ticket that way obviously you know it's real then. But
if it's a camera, it will be delivered to you
by post and it comes out with a picture of
your vehicle as well. Trust me, I've got a few
of these pictures and you get the fine. The amount
and it will tell you the day, the time, everything.
We have yournie details and a photo of you speeding
(09:15):
and the registration of your vehicle and you have thirty
days I think it is around thirty days to pay it.
And if you pay it early you get a fifty
percent reduction in the fine. So yeah, you get it
done that way. And again you can pay online with
your digital certificate. So don't fall for these speed camera
fines that are going around at the moment. If you
get a text message from that, ignore it. It has

to be from the official official Traffic Coat website and
they send it by post, So don't pay it your
on your phone. It is a fraud. Okay. So talking
about motorbikes now this one I'll play a lot more
my right, Absolutely brilliant through the headphones on the motorbike
Sity Thing better trugs there and wild Thing and Martin

So twenty three years living and working in Spain, and
I think I've been through pretty much most of the
problems people who have come across here in Spain and
found solutions to most of them. Yeah. I had a
funny experience this week though. It is something that really
put the the fear into me. I had to kind
of have an mr ice scan at the hospital here
I must have met. The hospitals are amazing here in Spain,
(12:07):
and this was a local hospital just literally five minutes
from where I live. And I've had a head scan before,
but this MRI scan was a little bit different. I
don't know if any of you have been in headscan.
They put you on a table and they push you
through this tunnel and it is really claustrophobic. I'm not
scared of most things, but being a little bit croustrophobic,
(12:28):
I think in my old age, And yeah, put you
in this scanner and it was twenty minutes in there
with headphones on, and they play these weird sounds, really
loud weird sounds through the machine the headphones to protect
your ears from the noise because it is a really
really loud noise. And I didn't like it at all,
not at all. It was an experience I would not
(12:49):
like to repeat again. So, yeah, that's an MRI scan
and it's one of the most stressful things I've ever done,
I think, and I've done some pretty weird and dangerous
things in my life. But yeah, at the hospital here,
and I can't say enough about the hospitals, they are fantastic.
And the hospital where I go to in Retamar here
near Elmore at Airport, there's never anybody in there, absolutely amazing.

I don't wait. It just goes straight in And if
everyone needs to make an appointment at my doctor's then
I can just do it on my digital certificate or online.
We do it straight away, and I get an appointment
within a couple of days, literally within a couple of days.
If it's really needed on I need the next day appointment.
Then if you go to the hospital and go to
the reception, you just make an appointment. You get it
(13:32):
for the next morning. So it's amazing here a bit
different to the UK, but there you go. So the
hospitals in Spain, I can't fall absolutely amazing. David Right,

Laura Hamilton every lot to say it from a Place

and I went down there a few years ago now

process of setting it up yourself. It's fairly straightforward. It's
very easy to do, but anything done officially now, government
websites anything like that. You can do it all without
leaving your armchair. I wrought with the digital certificates, so
if you haven't yet checked it out, please go and

to how to get it set up. And it was
really really worth getting because you can save a lot
of time and money and stress doing it that way.
And yeah, also talking about speeding tickets. So there's a
scam that I nearly got caught out with this week.
Had a message, a text message from the traffic coat
(07:46):
and it was all very official looking, the message and everything,
and it was just in a bit of a funny
space in my head and I clicked on the link,
which I shouldn't have done, and it looked very very official,
leading me to pay a fine of thirty five euros
for speeding ticket. The reason that I was sort of
taken in with this, I didn't actually pay it, but
I was about to. I thought about paying it. I've
(08:09):
had four speeding tickets. They have been a bit of
anrdy boy on my new minder bike but I've had
four speeding tickets, all done through the cameras here, you know,
the speed cameras got caught out and there this was
a scam asked me to pay. So I thought, yeah, well,
I've been out on the bike a lot this week.
I have been speeding a little bit, so maybe I've
got to pay this ticket. And I thought, we'll hang
on a minute. I just double checked this, so I
clicked on the link, typed in the link in my
(08:31):
ur L on my PC and it came up as nothing.
So I waited till my wife got home. She checked
it out online because she works for the Spanish government,
and she said, yeah, it's a fraud, it's a scam,
and I checked my with my digital certificate. I have
had some fines and they're paid and there isn't the problem.
So if you get a fine through speeding ticket, if
(08:53):
it's on the spot by the police, you get a
ticket that way obviously you know it's real then. But
if it's a camera, it will be delivered to you
by post and it comes out with a picture of
your vehicle as well. Trust me, I've got a few
of these pictures and you get the fine. The amount
and it will tell you the day, the time, everything.
We have yournie details and a photo of you speeding
(09:15):
and the registration of your vehicle and you have thirty
days I think it is around thirty days to pay it.
And if you pay it early you get a fifty
percent reduction in the fine. So yeah, you get it
done that way. And again you can pay online with
your digital certificate. So don't fall for these speed camera
fines that are going around at the moment. If you
get a text message from that, ignore it. It has

to be from the official official Traffic Coat website and
they send it by post, So don't pay it your
on your phone. It is a fraud. Okay. So talking
about motorbikes now this one I'll play a lot more
my right, Absolutely brilliant through the headphones on the motorbike
Sity Thing better trugs there and wild Thing and Martin

So twenty three years living and working in Spain, and
I think I've been through pretty much most of the
problems people who have come across here in Spain and
found solutions to most of them. Yeah. I had a
funny experience this week though. It is something that really
put the the fear into me. I had to kind
of have an mr ice scan at the hospital here
I must have met. The hospitals are amazing here in Spain,
(12:07):
and this was a local hospital just literally five minutes
from where I live. And I've had a head scan before,
but this MRI scan was a little bit different. I
don't know if any of you have been in headscan.
They put you on a table and they push you
through this tunnel and it is really claustrophobic. I'm not
scared of most things, but being a little bit croustrophobic,
(12:28):
I think in my old age, And yeah, put you
in this scanner and it was twenty minutes in there
with headphones on, and they play these weird sounds, really
loud weird sounds through the machine the headphones to protect
your ears from the noise because it is a really
really loud noise. And I didn't like it at all,
not at all. It was an experience I would not
(12:49):
like to repeat again. So, yeah, that's an MRI scan
and it's one of the most stressful things I've ever done,
I think, and I've done some pretty weird and dangerous
things in my life. But yeah, at the hospital here,
and I can't say enough about the hospitals, they are fantastic.
And the hospital where I go to in Retamar here
near Elmore at Airport, there's never anybody in there, absolutely amazing.
(13:10):
I don't wait. It just goes straight in And if
everyone needs to make an appointment at my doctor's then
I can just do it on my digital certificate or online.
We do it straight away, and I get an appointment
within a couple of days, literally within a couple of days.
If it's really needed on I need the next day appointment.
Then if you go to the hospital and go to
the reception, you just make an appointment. You get it
(13:32):
for the next morning. So it's amazing here a bit
different to the UK, but there you go. So the
hospitals in Spain, I can't fall absolutely amazing. David Right,

Laura Hamilton every lot to say it from a Place

there on like the I think it was tanks. They've
got some tanks in there that you can get on
