al Maria Radio one on seven point five and a
big thank you to John Alex. Thank you John for
keeping this entertained this afternoon. So loads more tips and
advice on living and working in Spain coming up on
the show today, and some news about a new property

(00:40):
law if you're thinking about renting out your property here
in Spain. New law comes out for next year. Telling
you a bit more about that later in the show.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
It's Friday. It's Friday, and getting you into the mood
for the weekend.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
David help and advice but living and working in Spain.
You're listening to the Right Way right with David Wright.
The comments section is open. Shad light to the DJ
right now our website.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
And here he is, legendary Davis n. You're listening to
the Right Way with Me David Ryan, and the comments
section has rebooted, so come and join us. Come and
say hi hi to Carrol in the comment section that
a nice sunny day in Brighton. She says, well, that's
a change. Make sure we take a picture. Yes, it's
pretty nice and warm and sunny here today. Not a
cloud in the sky here in Amria. We've got twenty

(01:40):
six degrees here, so it's pretty warm out there today.
So yeah, feeling pretty good with myself. Past my motorbike
driving test on Tuesday after eleven and a half months
of training, so yeah, it's taken a long time, but
fouled the theory test three times, the theory test all
in Spanish, and then I passed the track, the speed

(02:03):
test and the slalom test, and then the lessons out
on the street with the drive instructor, and finally on
Tuesday I passed the first time round US. So it's
pretty good, pretty lucky, I suppose the driving test. So yeah,
I've been out already and paid a deposit on my
new Hodor bike and sold me old one, and yeah,
don't hang about in Spain, You've got to get cracking

(02:25):
with your life here. So yeah, the new one comes
next Thursday or Friday, hopefully, hopefully have it for the
weekend next weekend, so looking forward to that. So yeah,
if you're thinking about taking a bike test in Spain,
then I've got all the details on it, been through
it done, it got the T shirt. It is difficult,
I must have met even with I thought my level
of Spanish was pretty good, but I did struggle a bit,

(02:45):
especially with the theory part of it, and even the lessons.
There's a settlement of lessons you have to have. For
each one you have to enroll in a school and
in total it's cost me around six hundred euros, so
I don't know, it's expensive, not too bad at the
end of it. Really. I was talking to a guy
on Tuesday. He failed three times. He's already spent over
two thousand euros on lessons and tests, and so yeah,

(03:08):
there you go, so very happy and please to get
that out of the way. It's one of the ambitions
I've ed in Spain for a long time. So yeah,
I've got my motorbike license to go out and buy
a bigger bike. Okay, So tips on travel, some travel
news talking about nies and residency today and this new
property law that comes out if you're thinking about renting
your property here in Spain, there's a brand new law

(03:30):
comes out in January next year. I'll be telling you
a little bit about that on today. So it looks
like Spain are introducing the masks again. The Health minister
has said this week on TV they're bringing in this
new level system that some are calling it a traffic
light system for the mandatory mask wearing. There'll be four

(03:55):
levels apparently from basic to high level. And if the
numbers go up, then they're going to bring in mandatory
masks again in Spain for supermasket supermarkets, for cinemas and
on public transport. So that's proposals for this new system.
If you want to know more about that, you can
go over to my information page. There's loads of information

(04:16):
there and there's an article about that this is coming
in and this is for the new system for the
mandatory mask wearing. If the COVID numbers still keep rising
here in Spain, they're going to bring in this new
four level system. That's all the information over on the
information page. That's Davidwright online dot com information page. You're

(04:36):
listening to the right way with me, David Wright al
Maria Radio A one oh seven point five FM. It
is Friday, it's the weekend. So if you're out and about,
it's a little word for the day you might be
able to use. Maybe you already notice one. So if
you're out in a bar or a restaurant you're trying
to get the attention of the wait til you put
your hand up, he's not hearing you. You can say
oh yeah, oh yeah. Now when I first heard this

(04:58):
years ago here, I thought some I was saying this.
I thought that'd being rude. It's like oait, come here
sort of thing, you know, when you say the things
people go oh wait, oh wait, which is quite rude.
So it's not that it's o ye and it's oh yeah,
oh yeah. Basically it means hear me, and Spanish use
it all the time here, So if you need to
get someone's attention you're in a bar, restaurant or the
fair distance away, you can shelt this out. And it's

(05:20):
not abuses or anything like that at all. It just
means hear me, oh yeah. So try to out tonight. Okay,
where we going now? A bit of beegi'es I think.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
It's Friday. It's Friday, and that Friday feelings getting you
into the mood for the weekend.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
David Right, help and advice. But living and working in Spain,
you're listening to the right way, the right way with
David Right.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
So yeah, with the new rule that comes out in
January of next year, twenty twenty five, this is for
advertising your property for rent here in Spain, if it's
a room or the whole property, Health department, whatever, if
you're advertising it online. Initially, this is going to be
for online to start with. You will need to register
it with the government and get a license and a number,

(06:14):
and the government said they're going to be checking on
all properties that are offered for rent in the new year.
This is only starting out for advertising online. So if
you're advertising a property or room to rent online then
and they're saying it's not there's no fees attached to
this at the moment. It's free to register and there's
going to be a system where we can do it

(06:35):
online as well. So you can register online that your
property or room is for rent the air in all
your details and you get a license and a number. Now,
this is, as I say, it's free to start with,
but for sure, for sure they're going to start charging
for this later on. It's a way of checking up
on what properties are being rented. Now, there's been a
lot of controversy here this last year or so with

(06:58):
places like Barcelona where the rents have gone through the roof.
People are making a lot of money off the tourists
renting their properties out and the locals can't get on
the property ladder. So yeah, obviously, you know, if you've
got a property in an area where as a good market,
you're going to put the prices up and you want
the best payers, so you know, I can see both
sides of this, but obviously if you're working in the

(07:19):
city or something in the rents are extortioner, it's going
to be difficult to get on the ladder. So that's
why this new rule comes into effect here in Spain
on January the twenty fifth. If you want to know
more about that, and just go over to some more
information pages, that's David wrightonline dot com information page Golden
from Harry Styles. There you're listening to the right way
with me David right here on al Maria Radio one

(07:41):
O seven point five FM. Bit of travel news for
you now. So, yeah, there's some air strikes started last
week until the end of this month now. This is
in France and Italy for its air strikes regarding pay
staff pay and easy Yet said some of their flights
have had the knock on affected this. It could affect
some Spanish airports, so just be on the lookout for this,

(08:05):
especially in the next couple of weeks up until November.
This is some air traffic strikes. This is France and Italy.
There's been several delays already on that and easy Yet
said some of their flights are getting the knock on
effect for this, so just check with your airline before
you travel. Okay, so time to say a big thank
you to the sponsors of my show, and that is
a Gecko Graphics website and design. They've made a website

(08:28):
for me and it's Maria Motorbike Tours dot com hopefully
starting in January. If you want to a website being built.
Can thoroughly recommend them. They are fantastic and if you
want to see their work, the details are in the
comment section. Now, I'm going to see my motorbike website
and the tours see what they've done for me there.
It's great, so yeah, go and check it out there.
Details are in the comment section.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Now, your music, your requests al Maria Radio Radio one,
it's right and that Friday feeling getting you into the
mood for the weekend.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
David right, help and advice. But living and working in Spain,
you're listening to the right way with David right.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
Okay. So if somebody asked me yesterday about the IDs
here in Spain, now you do need to carry an
ID here in Spain is a government requirement that everybody
carries a photo ID on them And if you're a
resident in Spain, you've got your your t I E
card is probably the best. If you haven't got that,

(09:35):
if you've still got the old A four piece of
paper that's the residency paper, then you don't need to
change that. And a lot of people are saying that
they've been told that they've got to change it. At
the moment, it's not obligatory to change it over to
the TI E card, although I do suggest you do so.
The old A four one is still valid as your identification,
but as it's got no photograph or anything on there,

(09:57):
you do need to carry your passport with that make
it acceptable. So it's a bit of a hassle carrying
your passport and that piece of paper around, but you
can use that as a form of ID here. Now,
technically you would need to carry that with you all
the time if you're going down the beach or out
for a drink or something. It's not really convenient or
safe to do. So. Years ago when I had mine

(10:18):
that form, I did take a photo copy and fold
that up, and also had a copy of it on
my phone and a copy of my passport on my
phone as well. But I would say go to get
the to E card as quickly as you can, because
in the new year, I've heard that there's some rumors
that that's going to be compulsory for everyone to change over.
If you're getting a new residency here in Spain now

(10:39):
you normally will have the new tie card anyway, which
is a lot easier to carry, and it's official and
it's as good as your passport. Here in Spain now
you can buy and sell property, use that as your idea.
You don't need to carry your passport or anything like
that opening bank accounts. It is the same as the
Spanish one or more or less. It's an official document.
But if you've still got the old one, I don't

(11:00):
panic you do not need to change it over some
people saying they've been told by their solicitors things like that.
That is not true. It is still a valid form
of ID, but it must be accompanied with your passport.
That's the thing that people get tripped up on. So yeah,
but I do recommend that you do change over to
the Pea card. At the moment, it's only twelve euros
if you want to go and do it yourself. It's
quite easy to do that. You don't really need to

(11:21):
speak much Spanish to do it. If it comes out
in the new year, that is compulsory, I promise you
it'll be a lot more than twelve year os. So
I suggest that you go and do that. Now, mine
down to Valerie Mahaka for the area's best event.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
It's Friday, It's Friday, and that Friday feeling getting you
into the mood for the weekend.
