Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, we are so fucking back. Okay. I just saw
the first clips, like fuller clips from the Skate Ova,
and I knew when I scrolled enough, and my TikTok
for You page was entirely skate and I hit that
(00:22):
edit with Jeff Buckley's lover you should have come over
on it. I knew we were back. I knew we
were back. I also knew that I had been on
TikTok too long because the media video after that was
the I don't know if this happens to people that
are in Mexican I'm not gonna lie. I don't know
if people. I don't know how many non Mexican people
are on this part of TikTok, or non Latin American
(00:43):
people aren't on this part of TikTok. But I'm unfortunately
on a part of TikTok where the fucking fun that's
my song comes on and I see a bunch of
like a bass and like you know, like dads and
stuff like seeing their parents for the first time in
like twenty to forty years, and like suddenly these you know,
(01:03):
like these like older men and older women like turn
into like little kids basically and like start bawling their
eyes out, and like just it's just very cute and
it's very sad, and it's very upsetting and it's very
it's very sweet. I find them very upsetting because of
the circumstances that make it so they haven't seen them
that long. But that's how I that's how I always
(01:23):
know once I hit those videos, that's how I know
I've been on TikTok too long. Luckily, I don't use
TikTok that much, so it's not happened that often. But
that's how I knew that I was on skate TikTok
too long, and the app had to remind me where
I was. But oh my god, I'm telling you, my
brain is spinning, the headcannons are forming. Oh my god,
(01:46):
it is so much delicious food. And I've only seen
a couple of clips, and I do not speak Japanese,
so I have absolutely no idea what anybody was saying
at any given point in any of those clips. But
I don't care. I am living. I saw the scene
of Joan Cherry in class beefing. I don't know why.
I don't know if they'd ever met before. I don't like,
(02:07):
I mean I know they've met before because they've literally wait,
we know that they've literally canonically they've been friends since
they were in like kindergarten or like pre k or something,
so they literally knew to other tuff like I have
no idea why they were beefing that Harden class. I
think it's very funny, but I'm just h delicious. And
then the range stuff was so cute. Also, they're so cute.
(02:31):
It's so cool to see everybody again. I will not
be talking about Tadashi and I know's k because they
could die for all I care. I really don't have
to fuck, as you can tell from the events of
Pearl Diver, which today we're doing chapter two, and then
immediately after that I will be recording chapter three. I'm
super excited to finally be well enough to do the
(02:54):
back to back recordings for these two chapters because ELOI Okay,
last month not fun, not a fun time. But my
medication has started settling and working, and I feel a
lot better health wise, so that's really tight. And now
(03:14):
I can gab and I'm just a little tired, and
it's so that's fine. Today we're doing chapter This episode
is chapter two, a ship in a bottle. Yeah, I'm excited.
I'm excited to do this. I think that now is
a really great time to be doing these episodes, especially
with the OVA coming out in Japan, and I think
I think it should take about six to eight ish
(03:41):
months for the OVA to come out in English if
they dub it, which I'm I'm honestly I'm assuming they are.
Maybe I shouldn't, but I am assuming they are since
the show did so well, so I'm I'm very excited
about that. Until then, I will be for sure like
(04:03):
trying to watch it in Japanese with English subtitles once
there's English subtitles. But yeah, I'm stoked. I think it's
gonna be fun. It's gonna be fun to dive back
into this. I have been on for writing in my
in my Whips, which I shared a little bit of
on Patreon. I like to I'm like, it's not like
(04:27):
one of the promised perks because I don't want to
put pressure on it by like needing to do it regularly,
but or like with like with regularity. But I I
like sharing a little bit of like my whips and
my plan fix and stuff there when I can and
when it fits, and I've been on a Shinbaku kick
I have been, I don't know, they've charmed me. I
(04:49):
always liked the ship, but now I'm like, I have
like two whips that are like Shinbaku and they have
just I don't know but which body and soul. Obviously
I'm a Kurriybaku till I die. But I've always been
a comfy multi shipper for a lot of things. What
I'm not a multi shipper about, though, is Joe Cherry.
(05:10):
These bitches are soulmates. I mean, I also believe that
Kurebaker somece but like whatever, I feel like the universes
are different, you know, if the vibes are the vibes
are different. But these two there's nobody for these two
for me, uh, except for each other. And it's so
fun and we'll get to see that in this universe
where Code is a mermaid and Coach ro is a
(05:30):
really shit pirate. So without further ado, the tags don't change,
so I am still going to read them, but they're
you know, this PIC's been done since twenty twenty one,
so they're not likely to change at all. Between anything.
The rating is teen and up. If you are joining
here and you didn't listen to chapter one, you haven't
(05:51):
ready yet. I would suggest going back and listening to
chapter one. It's only technically chapter one. It's really just
a prelude. You'll see it's like a fourteen minute or
so like episode here on the podfics, but in reality,
I just gapped for like seven minutes and then read
for seven minutes, and that was It was just like
a prelude. But it is technically the first chapters. Now
we're in chapter two, which is technically the first actual
(06:11):
chapter of it. But you know those of you can't
be like prelude chapter one. You know they're all called
fucking chapters. So here we go. Rating is teening up.
Since creator chose not to choose ourchive mornings, I'm not
changing it because I don't remember what passed me was
thinking when I picked it, so I'm leaving it. Category
is M slash M Fantomus skate. The Infinity relationships are
(06:34):
Nanjo Kodroro slash Joe and Well Joe and Sakaryashiki Kawu
also known as Terry Blossom and Hasegawa Langa and keim
Reki so The characters are Joe, Cherry, Langa, Reky, shadow Mia, Adam,
and Tashi. Although he's like very very, they're very they're
(06:55):
really not in it that much, and they're not in
it yet. Those last two additional tags own family Mermaid,
Kodu Pirate Koduro Mermaid, au alternate Universe, pirate, alternate Universe,
FANTASYU Terry Blossom being a little shit gay so uh yes,
kowdu Terry Blossom. It's very annoying that the free form
(07:18):
tag has to include the full thing anyway. Cherry needs
a hug. Bisexual Joe, parental Joe, parental, no protective Joe.
They bicker because they're in love, falling in love, idiots
in love, oblivious ken Reki Hasgabaalanga in love, parental hey Mihika,
which is shadow, fluff and humor some angst. Adam is
(07:42):
an evil pirate. We well, he's actually not a pirate,
but it's it's fine, semantics. We hate Adam in this house, okay,
villain death, little violent fight scenes toward the ends. Happy
endings unless you like Adam, in which case I don't
think you should read this. Well, unless you like really
love him and like you can't stand to see him
be evil or whatever we case. Have you met him? Um,
(08:03):
but here we go. Summary. Becky is precious, oblivious but precious.
Kowdu is abrasive. Cootro hasn't known peace since he saw
that first flash of gold. Beginning notes the patin will
be picking up after this, trust me, Okay, I've got plans.
I'm finishing up a cureabacu fick. At the same time,
I don't remember what else I was writing at the
(08:24):
same time. You can probably look at my fixed and
see I don't know what came out around twenty some
but like around that time in twenty twenty one is
like the first or second chapter. But I genuinely could
not possibly tell you. All right, I think we're ready.
Kowdu awoke to a strange lack of pressure and an
(08:44):
ache in his head. Instead of the flow of the currents,
he felt the world. Girl, why the fuck does that
say swapping? I think it means swaying. A fuck may
Jesus okay. Instead of the flow of the currents, the
world swaying, and something cool bushed over his skin. Wind
He realized when he breathed in he smelled the ocean nearby.
(09:08):
The salt on the wind familiar, but there was also
something else, a warm, help almost comforting smell. Maybe the
smell wasn't warm so much as its source was, and
Kowder would blame the momentary lapse in judgment on the
headaches threatening to crack his skull open. But in his
half dream like state, he pressed closer to the source
of warmth and felt a shake against him, hot breath
(09:30):
brushing his forehead with a sound of soft laughter. Couter
froze warm breath laughter. His golden eyes shot open in panic,
his body following suit, only to lose his balance as
his heavy tail found no purchase against the fabric cubes
on it. Suddenly, he felt himself falling for a moment
before two thick, bronzed arms wrapped around his catching him
(09:52):
before he could fall. Careful, there, beautiful, don't fall for
me just yet, A roguish voice teased, and Kowdu looked
up to see bright red eyes and dark green curls
framing a strong face, a handsome face. Kowdus squinted in confusion,
not understanding what he had said. This was obviously not
(10:12):
one of his previously acquired languages. He looked at the
man skeptically, a stupid face, he decided, but he would do.
Instinct won over curiosity, and Kowdu blinked up at the man,
slowly locking eyes and letting a soft melody pass his
lips just long enough to lull the man into curious complacency.
(10:33):
Then Kowdu leaned in and pressed his lips to the
larger man's. Kodo snapped out of the fog that had
briefly distracted him as he felt the other man kiss him.
Within seconds, he moved his hands to cut the smaller
man's face and deepen the kiss, tongue briefly swiping against
his lips. Kowdo's eyes widened in shock and he gasped,
which Kodoo took as an invitation to slide his tongue
(10:54):
into Kowdo's mouth. Fighting the unexpected, urged to let it happen,
Kowdo override his overrode his more base instincts, and bit
down hard. I think the fuck not, he shoved at
the other man, who let his who let him fall
back onto the girl. Did I edit this at all?
(11:16):
Killing myself? Come on, he shoved at the other man.
I need to edit this so bad. I did edit
it and fairness, but always miss these. He shoved at
the other man, who let him fall back onto the floor,
hands going to cover his mouth as he glared at Kodu.
You did you just fucking bite me, Kododo cried out,
gently touching his tongue to check for blood, and there
(11:36):
was a little. The Koudo simply rolled his eyes. Your
tongue was near my teeth. I failed to see how
this is my fault, he replied in the same language,
voice deeper than Corodreudo had anticipated, and much snarkier than
anything he could have imagined coming from such a pretty face.
The pretty face looked pretty unimpressed at the moment. To
be quite honest, Kodrodo's expression twisted in confusion. You kissed me,
(12:03):
Sorry for kissing you back. Now it was Kowdo's turned
to look confused. I did what do such thing? I
needed to learn your language. I touched our lips together.
Here's a brute who tried to eat me alive. Now
you're going to release me immediately? Koto's face grew hot. Oh, oh,
(12:23):
mermaids can learn languages like that. If his tongue weren't
still throbbing, and he weren't feeling quite so embarrassed. He'd
be a little amazed. Okay, he was still a little amazed,
not that he would show it. Brute, Who are you calling? Brute?
You fucking menace. You'll spit my tongue off. You have
bangs or something. You're human? Of course you're a brute,
Kowdo sniffed, crossing his arms. Pretty snooty talk for someone
(12:47):
completely at my mercy, at your not even in your
wildest dreams, Kowdo hissed. Well after that, kids, don't worry
about my dreams, baby, Kododo grinned, swinging his legs to
sit at the edge of the bed and looking down
at Kowodo, who was suddenly very aware of his position.
You want to go back in the ocean, go on,
(13:10):
I'm not stopping you, he smirked, eyeing Kodu's heavy tail
twitching every now and then on the floor. Kodo pursed,
his lips, chin raised in defiance. He often moved two
inch towards the door, but found he couldn't move much
whilst maintaining even a semblance of dignity. He heard that
chuckle again, but this time instead of warming him it oh.
(13:31):
Instead of warming him gently, it ignited a fire in him,
having trouble. Princess No, But Kodo didn't move, staring at
the door and stubbornly refusing to so much look at
the other man. Koduro stood, patting over to Kado quickly
and scooping him up in his arms, grinning. Don't worry, Princess,
I'm a pretty merciful owl. The instant Kodo picked up
(13:56):
had picked up Kowdu like he'd weighed nothing. Kowdo had
twisted in his arms, nails clawing at the bare hot skin,
teeth bared and indeed sharper than a human's would be,
heavy tail flicking to slap Koduro with his fin around
the head. Kaowdo hissed his kochro grapple, trying to beat
off his tail, claws and fangs all at once. Would
you fucking out fuck hate shit fuck. Kotu stumbled backwards,
(14:21):
legs hitting the bed, so we fell with Kowdo on
top of him. The door slammed open the moment Kowodo
sank his teeth into Kodro's neck, not deep enough to
cause fatal harm, just enough to warn against me and
handling him again. Captain oh Shadow burst in at the tussle,
closely followed by Longa and Reki, who also stopped short
at the sight of the Mermaid of the Mermaid Man
(14:42):
and Koto's arms, mouth still frozen on his neck. Instantly,
Reki slapped a hand over long As eyes, much to
the taller boy's amusement, and Shadow slapped a hand over
Rekki's um. Shadow said, unsure of how to continue, Kodro
slapped Kowdo up the back of the head. Kowdo released
him with a hiss and a glare. For once, this
(15:04):
is not what it looks like. Koturo took advantage of
Kowdoo surveying the newcomers to pin his wrists together firmly
in one hand. His second hand went to Kowdoo's throat,
only to restrain him. Gils flared against his grip, but
he didn't budge. Some rope please Shadow arms bound behind
his back and a piece of cloth around his mouth
(15:25):
and a gag. Kowodo found himself on the sofa and
Kochro's quarters, surrounded by the crew, Sand's Shadow, who was
above them on deck making sure they stayed safe and
on course. Mm hmm. Kowdo cursed through the gag, tail,
flopping helplessly as he glared at the muscular man before him,
Ignoring the three younger ones. Mio was furthest away, still
(15:47):
looking in from the doorway, processing the sight of a
mermaid in the flesh. Oh baby, you flatter may kochu
Ro drawled with a smirk, leaning in close to Kowdo's face. Out,
here's the deal. We're pirates, you're a mermaid. We need
money to survive. You will fetch a very, very pretty penny,
(16:09):
he shrugged. It's going to take us a couple weeks
to get to where we're going, so you're just gonna
hang tight until then. Don't bother trying to escape, he winked,
although I'd love to watch you try. Kowodo flushed red,
but remained silent. They had no idea when he was
capable of or who they were dealing with. He'd escape,
(16:29):
all right. It might take some time, but he'd manage.
He wasn't about to be outsmarted by a bunch of primates.
Don't you and water to breathe? Reki piped up, honey
eyes trained in on Ko Kowdo blinked at him, and
Rerecky blushed, whispering to Koto to take off the gag
very very carefully. Kotobo obliged, and Kowodo blew his bangs
(16:52):
out of his eyes with a bluff. With a huff,
Oh you're right, How silly of me to have been
here all this time and I simply forgot to suffocate
my apologies. Reky turned a bright red and Manga glared
a Kodo, wrapping an arm loosely around Recky. Kowdo clocked
the move but said nothing else. You have gills. It's
(17:13):
a fair question, Longa countered, but Kauto ignored him, eyes
trained on Kodurdo. Do you have a name? Kododo asked,
expression focused, ready to gag Kowdo again if need be.
Do you have brain cells up there? Or did the
storm knock the last ones out? Hey? Watch it, I
can gag you again, princess. Oh no, how will I
(17:37):
ever live with no way to carry an intelligent conversation here?
Oh wait? Kawdo bit back without missing a beat. Are
all mermaids so fucking difficult? Koddle glared, entering Kwdo's personal
space again. The pink eared man before him buried every
moderately sharpened tooth in what might have been the most
(17:57):
calculating grin Cododo had seen this side of the past effect.
You have no idea human. He really didn't. Kodro had
heard tails, rumors folklore, of course, about sirens singing songs,
luring people to their deaths, seducing sailors, and dragging them
(18:19):
to the bottom of the sea. Reality seemed more complicated
than that. Rather than drive them mad with lust or desire,
Cadreu had taken to silence. He wouldn't give them a
name or any information. Really. The ropes around his wrists
had since been exchanged to have a layer of torn
bed sheet underneath to prevent chafing, but even so the
(18:41):
position was far from comfortable. Kaowder spent the first few
days refusing food and turning his nose up at the
human dishes he was brought, no matter how good they smelled,
barely accepted water, and was avoiding eye contact with Kodu
as he tilted his head back to let him tip
the bottle to his lips. Once a few drops had
run down his chin and chest, he could have sworn coad.
Those eyes had followed the drops down as abdomen for
(19:02):
a second, but when he blamed Cotrodo's eyes were glazed
were gazing board out of the window. The window was
like Kowdoo's saving grace. He was no longer in the
captain's quarters where he'd woken up, of course, instead now
in the makeshift brig on the lowest level of the deck,
one porthole window next to the cot. He was on
low enough that he could look out of it easily
(19:23):
even if he was laying down. And all he did
all day all night was stare at the ocean, trying
to ignore the tug at his heart strings. He couldn't
feel the breeze down there, or taste the salt on
the air. Still Cherry, a young voice broke Kowdo's silence,
(19:44):
and the mermaids simply cooked an eyebrow at the nickname.
I still trained on the waves lapping against the side
of the ship. Sorry you didn't give us a name,
and well, you're also a person. Kind of it felt
wrong not to call you by a name. Reky fiddled
(20:05):
with his hands before taking a deep breath. I know
we're pirates technically, but we're really not bad people. And
you need to eat, because you've got to be hungry,
and I don't want you to die. I know, Joe,
that's what we call the captain, would feel awful if
you've got stick like that here, Cow too, huff dismissively.
(20:27):
Was he supposed to believe the lung cut upstairs, who
was selling him like cattle give a fuck about his
well being? That chance? Really? I know you haven't been
eating the rice dishes, so I got Joe to make
something else today, and I'm gonna untie your hands. Okay,
I figured maybe you weren't eating because you'd need to
be fed. I don't like feeling like I can't take
(20:49):
care of myself, so Recky admitted, almost bashful, before his
mega wat grin returned full force. So don't hurt me, please,
I'm not helpless, but I don't want to fight. I
just want you to eat. It's not like you can
go anywhere anyway. True, and Kowder didn't know too much
about humans, but he knew enough to recognize the red
(21:10):
head and the one with the blue hair and the
small one were like children. Kowdo wouldn't just attack a
child like some sort of wild animal he'd attacked Kodo
out of self defense, not that that bonehead and Neanderthol
would understand that. Kowdo skealled himself at the thought and
almost didn't realize Rekky had carefully undone his bonds. Kowdu
stretched his arms inside, flexing his wrists and fingers. Reky
(21:37):
paid him no mind, grabbing a plate of something hot, long,
pale things with some sort of sauce all over that
smelled delicious, and fork, placing both on a barrel near
Kowdu and Kowder was struck by how vulnerable the boy was,
even more so by how much he didn't seem to
realize it himself. He had half a mind to hiss
at him or something, just to get on to put
(21:58):
a fucking wall up. I thought maybe you were lonely
down here, Langa agreed. Then he's so a little mad
at you, Recky laughed, pink coloring his cheeks as he
looked at the floor, grinning to himself. But he'll get
over it, Mia, He's like our baby brother kind of.
He's just so curious about you that he'll never admit it.
(22:20):
Koduro forgave him from coming down here. That's Joe. He
can be a bit over protective. Technically, I'm not supposed
to be here e though? Is it good? Recky stopped
himself mid ramble, noticing Kowdu awkwardly holding the fork and
poking at the food, scooping some up and taking a
careful bite. Holy mother of is this what humans et
(22:44):
all the time? The fuck cow too had to stopped
himself from moaning, in part because of how good it tasted,
and in part because he finally felt how hungry he was.
It's called carbonara. Joe's a great cook. Huh. Thank god?
Because shadow sucks at it. Kaudo assumed shadow with the
other adult on board, and Ricky continued to talk more
or less NonStop. But Kado found he didn't mind it
(23:07):
as much as he might have expected, maybe because he'd
been so bored in the silence for days, maybe because
there was something precious in Reky's unflaeling grin. Kowdo shrugged
off the thought kindness or no. Becky belonged to his captors,
and though he had given Kauto something valuable back, oh,
though he had given count of something valuable back his claws.
(23:32):
Reky didn't come back the next day, but Kotro did
so my kid says you liked the carbonara undid your
ropes too? Kotudo eyed Kowdo, suspiciously, taking in his free
hands that were for once not rearing to claw his
eyes out. Kowdo ignored him, staring out the window. I
(23:55):
guess I should say, I'm glad you didn't hurt him,
but you're not that stupid. I'm sure you'd know would
happen if you had, He daunted, and Kowdu damn him
turned to face turned swiftly to face him, golden eyes flashing.
I would never hurt a child, you animal. Fuck you,
he speaks. I was starting to wonder if I dreamt
(24:15):
our initial exchange, as if you could dream anything more
complex than a few silent images. Oh don't worry about
my dreams, or should I call you cherry too? Sorry?
I think it's sorry it Oh baby, don't worry about
my dreams? Or should I call you cherry too? I
know Reku has already gotten the others to use it.
(24:38):
It suits you. Kowdo narrowed his eyes when he was
unable to detect an insult. What was this man playing on?
I don't care what you call me. I won't be
here long enough for it to matter. Oof. No amount
of carbonara could make me forget that I'm going to leave,
and neither were kids babbling in dear to him. Koto
(25:01):
laughed and Kowdoo scowled. He said, you liked it, but
I didn't buy it until now you like it that much? Huh,
good thing I bought leftovers today. He made to set
the plate down, and Kowdo hated how he felt himself
straightened up more at the smell. Except I want answers first,
(25:23):
A chivalrous with holding food for information, I'm swooning? Would
you ship fair enough? How about this? I ask you
a question, you get your food, and you get to
ask me a question. Why the fuck would I want
to ask you a question? You just did, and you
can't tell me you're not curious about humans. I know
(25:44):
we're curious about your kind. Kowdu wanted to turn away,
stare out the window, and ignore the delicious smells, both
of the food and the ridiculous buffoon holding it. But
he was hungry, and carbonar was a million homes better
than any fish he had ever had. Deal, if I
get to ask my question first, did it matter? No?
(26:08):
Not a fucking all, but negotiating felt like winning, and
Kowdo wasn't about to accept an offer without a fight.
And Kodoo seemed to realize that he bit back a
laugh when he sat down the plate and fork before
stepping back and taking his seat on the floor a
ways away from Kowdo, just in case shoot, Cododo said,
I was focusing absently on the way Kawdo's mouth wrapped
around the fork fullL of noodles. He swallowed and pushed
(26:30):
down several inappropriate questions that threatened to take priority over others.
Kowdu ate a bit, chewing thoughtfully. What is a pirate?
Kodoro ripped his eyes up to the two golden ones,
piercing him easily. Huh, a pirate? You don't know what
(26:51):
a pirate? Well, a pirate is a is like a sailor. Well,
someone who lives on the sea, who doesn't obey all
the rules or any any of the rules. Well, he laughed,
(27:12):
I never had to explain that before I can tell
so your criminals, some might say, so Coodroo shrugged. Kowder
took a few more bites, trying to decide if he
was satisfied, before shrugging as well. I suppose that his
answer enough. What is your question? Coodod grinned, pulling up
(27:35):
his knees to rest his arms on them. How many
languages do you know? He smart, thinking about the unorthodox
learning method, and then instantly regretting his question. The memory
of how the other man felt against his lips, and
how he tasted like the ocean in the best way,
like freedom, how smooth pale skin and felt pressed against him.
(27:57):
He cleared his throat, but code would either didn't notice
or it did care, seemingly in thought twenty three, Jesus,
I thought I got around. Koturo laughed louder than he
usually would have, an attempt to hide what he hoped
wasn't a flash of jealousy he'd felt in his chest
and face, because that would be absurd. Kado hadn't even
recognized the kisses a sign of intimacy. It was obviously
(28:19):
not the same for them, and even if it were,
it didn't matter, because it didn't. Koduro didn't see flashes
of gold when he closed his eyes at night, and
he didn't taste the sea on his lips in his dreams.
Kado seemed to catch on his train of thought and
corrected him with a huff. We do know how to read,
you know, we study languages also. I've studied too. They
weren't all like how I learned yours. He Coto didn't
(28:45):
breathe out a sigh of relief, and if anyone thought
that he did, they were mistaken. It doesn't matter to me, Princess.
But that's that's cool. I only know one I know
I could oh, not surprising for a primate. Kodoo let
out a dry laugh, shaking his head as he leaned
(29:06):
in to grab the empty plate. You could tell, man,
I regret this so much. There is so much more
I want to ask you now, Well, I have to
go back anyhow, I'll let Reki visit Aghain later if
he wants. If you behave, I'm not a fucking pet.
Kowdo hissed his face as close to Kyodo does as
(29:27):
he could manage from where he's at, and it's close
enough that he knows the other man can feel the
danger radiating off of him. The Kodoo doesn't even flinch,
red eyes trained on golden ones, holding his breath for
a moment before letting his eyes drop to Kowdo's pink
lips for a second could have fooled me. He equipped
pulling back quickly, Kowdo's fangs just barely missing him, and
(29:48):
Kawado can hear his laughter even when he's out of
sight and he doesn't know who he's more furious at.
But no matter, he turns his attention back to the window.
It wasn't huge, but neither was he if he could
just keep clawing at these screws. And that's the end
of chapter two and notes next chapter will have some
(30:10):
action and some rango moments too. Okay, my god, So
here's the thing I have been for the last two
three years, Like with everything, for the last two three years,
on and off. I okay, put it this time three
years ago, right before my dad died, I had been
(30:31):
working on revamping Pearl Diver because I've become a better
writer since then. I mean that was from twenty twenty one.
I've become a better writer. If I hadn't, i'd be
quite upset. I've become a better writer. I clock a
lot of these edits, especially the ones that I miss
from just going over visually over and over again. When
I do these recordings, and I knew I wanted to
do that, so I figured I would find them, and
so I wanted to kind of re edit, maybe slightly
(30:57):
flesh out and adjust some things a chapter and maybe
re release it like guess and like replace the chapters,
or of course I don't want to replace the chapters,
because it's also good to have it exactly the way
that it was, so I might if I get to
actually finish readjusting it or whatever, maybe I'll release it
(31:20):
new as like a second edition. I've seen some fanoic
writers do that with some of their things. I'd also
toyed with the idea of making it into an original something,
since it's such a like AU and all the lore
is just like from the AU that I came up with,
(31:43):
so you know, thoughts and prayers, But it's really on
the back burner. But I really do I ooh, some
of those edits are gonna bug me. But if you've
listened to a previous podcast, you'll know that this happens often,
and I still don't necessarily have the energy to go
back and immediately edit things. Plus often I forget by
(32:04):
the time, like I've exported the recording and uploaded the episode,
I like forget what the fuck I was in the
middle of doing so say lovey Okay, that's the creative
life with unmiticated ADHD. But yeah, so I have other
stuff to finish, especially new stuff to finish. But I
(32:26):
think about it. I think about it so much. I
have so many versions of this document in my Google lives,
So you know, I'm kind of curious because I do
think some things could have been different. I think some
small plot things could have adjusted, and it would be
a better overall story. It wouldn't change I don't know
how to explain that. It would make it better but
(32:48):
not change much, even though they're like fundamental like little
plot changess. But it wouldn't change the stuff that we love,
you know what I mean. So I'm just yeah, I'm
a better order. I think that I would. I would
be very happy even if I ever just like made
a second version and like didn't release it or whatever.
(33:08):
I'm sure that it would make me happy to do.
So I'm thinking about that, especially now that I'm recording
this is gonna be on my mind a lot more.
But yeah, I'm very I'm very excited about this. I'm
excited about the next chapter. Yeah, so I think I'm
gonna upload this now. So I always when I upload stuff,
I upload to Patreon first, and then a couple of
minutes later, I upload a spreaker like to my podcast distributor,
(33:34):
and then like a couple of minutes later it like
takes a minute, and then like it'll be on Spotify
and all those other places for like the public stuff. Obviously,
the Patreon exclusive stuff is just on Patreon, which, by
the way, this one of the Patreon ex cluses this
month was one of my Macha Blossom fixs. I recorded
(33:55):
a podfig of Talk Talk Talk, which is on my
AO three and it's rated m and it's divorced and
then getting back together Mauchu Blossom, and it's delicious and
honestly one of in my opinion, the best recording performances
(34:18):
I've been able to do. So I'm pretty happy with that.
I'm very very proud of it. I added it to
the staff picks, which there's categories on the Patreon, so
when you like, you can go to these collections if
you want like specific things. So if you want only
all safe for work stuff from the Patreon, you can
get the Patreon exclusives that are safe for work as
(34:39):
well as the public episodes. Or you can click on
just not safe for work and it'll be everything that's
tagged not safe for work, or you can choose like
for example, and this is like just like a thing
I honestly put in primarily for myself, but people can
use something called staff Picks, which is another collection where
I have just tagged some fix that some pod fix
(35:00):
on the Patreon both exclusives and non exclusives that are
my very favorite recordings are my very favorite stories, and
that's one of them. So highly recommend checking it out.
It's five bucks, and you can also join as a
free member if you just can't swing it right now,
but you want to see what's up and you know,
(35:22):
like just you know, see the headers of the posts
and maybe one day I will decide on a price
point for unlocking certain posts. I can really don't really
feel great about that because I just think it's a
better deal. I just wouldn't price it like much lower
than the actual membership price for the maximum membership, which
it is five bucks, and then I wouldn't really feel
(35:45):
great about it because I'd be like, well, if you
were going to spend five bucks on one recording, you
could have just joined the tier, although obviously five bucks
per month and like five bucks once is not the same,
but it would be more expensive if you wanted to
just buy single downloads, although I guess some people might
not be more expensive. So maybe I should think about it,
because if you choose to spend multiple times five dollars
(36:06):
and you don't want to get a membership, I mean, honestly,
who might have tell you not to? You just want
a couple of these downloads and you can't do it monthly,
Maybe that's maybe that's better, huh. I feel like that
was really obvious, but it took me saying it out
loud to make sense. Anyway, that might be. Maybe that'll happen.
Maybe I'm gonna set the Patreon well no, because I
(36:28):
don't want all of the Patreon exclusist. I just I
do want stuff that's really just for the tier, because
I feel it feels nice to have something that's just
for the tier. Hmm. Maybe you guys can let me
know you feel about it, what you think in the comments,
Like if you're listening on Spotify, if you're not listening
(36:49):
on Spotify and you just don't wanna, I don't know,
tell me something about the podcast or whatever. You can
do that on Blue Sky, I'm there as therapist Bakago. Yeah, alright, okay,
I think that's it, because now I'm gonna I'm just
gonna grab some water and then I'm gonna do the
next chapter after I upload this, so I will see
(37:10):
you guys very very soon. Bye.
