Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, party people.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
I will preface this by saying that I and this
is in a very unseerious way. It's true, but it's not.
Don't worry, Okay, you'll hear in a second way. I
have been crying, so my nose, my boysment sound like
I've been crying, and I have to sniffle out because
my nose was running. The reason I was crying is
because I thought about Superman and I I saw some
(00:28):
Superman edits and I then I saw some Dig Grayson
and Batman edits and it was some Jason Todd in
bat minutes, and I was also crying a little bit. Yeah,
I should not. I was gonna say, I shouldn't. I
shouldn't check TikTok at all before I'm gonna go record.
(00:49):
But those hours ago, and I'm still sniffling. But it's
really fitting because, as you saw from the title, we're
reading the Adventures of Red Riot and Bakoy Kotski, Chapter nine,
(01:10):
also known as Issue nine, The Secret of Red Riot.
So this is gonna be a tough time. When I
wrote this, I cried, could I read?
Speaker 1 (01:24):
I cry? Which is so fun.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
This is the currently most updated chapter I am working
on it. If anything, actually felt even more inspired by
the supermanutis.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
And I saw today.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
The thing is that October was just really tough.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Life has been full of things, you know, but October
October was kind of tough. A've bit more active on
the Patreon though, like as far as also yap and goes. So,
for example, you want to see my Halloween costume that's
on the free wall of the Patreon. I wentness Panachka
from via, so you should check it out because I
(02:10):
looked hell acute even though I am still intered. Hence
also I'm still not wearing my headphones, trying to protect
my arm as much as possible and hopefully heal up.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
As quickly as I can.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
But also look at the time and be like, wow,
if I think about the time zone I know you're
in Ish, or the time you usually post. What time
is it? Geez, yeah, it's ten. It's ten in the morning.
I haven't slept yet. My sleep schedule has moved enough
that it is now one hundred percent inverted, so I
can switch AM for PM out and then my day
makes sense again. So for example, to me and my body,
(02:48):
it is currently ten thirteen pm. It is However, in
reality ten thirteen am, because it is it is like
one hundred percent just flipped now, which is better than
the in between states.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
So there's that. Wish me luck and good vibes. I
hope you guys are doing well, messieur, and I'm excited
about starting off. Remember we didn't have a poll last
month because I did a poll for something else. Uh,
and then I hadn't. I had just had such an October,
(03:30):
and so I decided I want I would just I
would pick this month. So this month I did pick,
and then hopefully we'll be back to being able to
do the polls. If not, we will do the polls
about a different perk and thing. So we'll keep updating
things as we need to. You know, we're always I'm
always we We're not a corporation. It's me one singular
(03:51):
motherfucker that writes and reads fan fiction. I tend to
use the Worrow wheel a lot. I don't know why
I do that, I always have. It makes me really
good in marketing and stuff. People think I sound really professional,
and really I'm just using like the Royal weee a
lot could hack for you if that's an area you
work in or any sort of business. Se scenario makes
(04:13):
you sound really official, always trying to be very upfront
about the accessibility that I have to afford myself because
I am disabled and also which is at this point
also a disability fucking poor so mostly though actually disabled,
and so I need to accommodate that sometimes. So today's
(04:36):
Today's this month, November's plan is Patreon fix this month
are going to be for tier one and up, so
tier one and two therapist friends and therapists benefactors will
be getting the exclusive Patreon fick hell on the Engine
chapter two, which is my only Baku Decu fick and
(04:56):
very likely no definitely the only Baku Deku fick I
will or write. It only has two chapters so far,
It's not the massive priority, but it is really good.
It was a gift for a front, and so will
I will eventually, as I will with everything, I will
eventually continue it and some you know, who knows maybe
(05:19):
reading it will help ignite things a little bit more.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
I'll also be sharing.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
A buying the scenes look at the plans for further
things in that thick on the Patreon with the next
like months and so so there's that We've started doing
something on the Patreon called whip casts, which are pod
fix from my whips where I read from a like
(05:44):
exclusive whip document in a form that you will otherwise
probably not see or hear since it will get heavily
edited and changed, and often these are not even remotely
in the end format that they're going to be in.
And I'm going to read out what I have or
chunk of what I have, and then talk about it,
talk about the stuff behind it, the process, and then
also live noodle out some future things that I want
(06:06):
and maybe how to get there. So there's whipcasts, which
I think are fun. Plus another you know, if you're
in it for the yapping and you like my voice,
it's more voice and more voices.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
Great tier two.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
So thereofy as benefactor is going to be getting the
patron exclusive not safe for work fick you love me?
Speaker 1 (06:22):
So you put a hat in your what.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Which is an old very fun tropy not safe for
work piece for kiribaku h. Then you guys here on
the public pod you will be getting like today, you
will be getting Adventures Ever to Riot chapter nine, and
you will be getting a drabble so a really small
(06:46):
one again, uh for once, but you'll be getting a
drabble which is a kuribaku drabbl a currybac kind of
angst but also like good for you type of drabbl
uh titled one that Got Away, which is one of
my wrapped dravel that I still had that I had written.
And I'm still I'm still working on the other ones
(07:08):
slowly as I can. This has been a year. It's
been a time and a year and one could say
a passing of hours to days to months that has
happened in a chronological time, so uh sort of way,
and you know, I'm sure it has been for all
(07:29):
of us.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
And uh yeah, So I.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
Am going to read the tags again because now all
of the tags that are in here.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
Apply and uh.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
Oh, boy, guys stoked.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
I'm stoked.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
I know I said that I was downning, but I
am really stoked. So we're here.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
We're back.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
If you haven't heard an Adventure of Red Ride and
Back of the Opaski chapter before, I really recommend that
you go back. You scroll down chapter one aka issue one,
and you start from there, or if you would really
like to hear for some reason only this chapter, you
can go to the AO three and read up to
(08:13):
this point and then listen to this if you if
that tickles your fancy, I'm not judging you. I think
it's a little weird. So I guess I'm judging you
a little bit, but not like in a bad value way,
just in to like, that's my opinion. Why but here
we go. So teen and up audiences is the rating.
I would basically say, like if you could have watched,
(08:33):
if you could watch like the two thousands, like Spider
Man movie, or like the Fantastic four movie, like the
good one not the new one, which I refuse to watch,
or acknowledge, fuck the use of AI, fuck AI forever,
then you can read this. This's nothing that happens in
(08:54):
this is gonna be any worse than shit that would
happen in a in two thousand Spider Man movie, which means, yeah,
people can die, but it's not like gory. Well, look,
you could handle it, okay, if you're here, you can
probably handle it. If you feel you cannot, please make
that choice for yourself. Archive warnings no archive warnings apply.
The ships are m M primarily but also multi. Like
(09:17):
the background, there might be lesbians or mentions of lesbians
who the fandom is my hair Academia. The main relationship
is Bacha Gookotski and Kurioshima a Jiro Additional tags more
tags to come. I came up with this three hours ago.
I gotta get rid of that tag. Superman and Lois
lane Au kind of superhero, Red Riot, quirckless investigative reporter,
(09:38):
Baka Yukotski. Gonna have some like classics superhero comic levels
of violence, like villain fights, but not like gross Also
main ship Kuribaku. But I might add background ships I
don't know who, but it's always gay secret identities. My god,
it's finally happening. I'm using my ba in contemporary American
comic literature. That is a real degree I have and
(09:59):
I stand. But background Shinkami, background relationships, background eraser Mike,
mentions of blood in the context of superhero fights and injuries. Uh,
happy ending will come? No, sorry, I almost skipt a
secret at entity.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
You'd expect a.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Love triangle between Kirikowsky and Red Riot, but it won't
go exactly how you think happy ending will come. But
it is a comic book story, so there's some plot
on the way to the happy ending. This chapter, for example,
is heavy own plot, not so heavy on the happy. Also,
the happy ending will lead into a sequel weekly updates.
Justice for Kuminari, he was right, nobody believed him lmfao,
(10:36):
not that he knows he was right. Fun times and drama.
Brotherly rivals Dekku and Baka go sorry in the backstory
inco passed away when Deku was young. It's not like
gone into detail was still getting together.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
Slight angst.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
That's appropriate for a classic comic book. That tag comes
into play now, slight angst. Okay, you know what and
where and who are we to judge? Sledge villain free
form also comes so everything from here on, specifically for
this chapter. Sledge Villain free form slight descriptions of drowning
because slime, I will, I will mention it more in
(11:12):
the like the description in case you want to like
mute or try to escape or something, where are we? Oh?
Nobody who isn't a villain gets like big time injured
ever genre appropriate angst. Happy ending promised. I had to
(11:33):
put in all caps again because I was like, I
swear to.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
God it's gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
But it's gonna look real bad. Right now, technically a
villain dies, but it's not like shown as it happens.
That don't make more sense as this goes on, because
that is relevant this chapter. So we are on chapter
nine of twelve, so we're pretty we're pretty close to
shit rapping, and so now shit is getting real. The
(12:00):
Adventures of Red Riot and Baka Go Kotski by Therapized
Baka Gaw Chapter nine, Issue nine, The Secret of Red Riot.
Beginning notes trigger warning. We're in Kotsky's POV as usual,
so that means there's some descriptions of him in the
slime villain's grasp, like a count is describing being about
to drown or choke. It's more along the lines of
(12:21):
rationalizing it, since that's Kotsky's approach to everything.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
But still, if you don't.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
Want to see that, or in this case, if you
don't want to hear that, then when Kotsky slides into
the slime further, when the hydrant breaks, skip ahead until
Kiri is saying wake up repeatedly. Kotsky's still gonna spit
up some slime, but otherwise all will be well health wise.
Please mind the updated tags There will be more notes
at the end of the chapter.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
Are we ready? Are we ready? Okay?
Speaker 2 (12:49):
I kind of wanted to be like, like, you know,
if you're ready to do something, but I completely like
I didn't think uh fast or far enough because I
had too many ideas on one so none of them
were good. And then my brain was like, you say,
are we ready ready? Kids? And I'm like, this is
not SpongeBob, That's not the vibe we're trying to go forest.
I'm thinking like music festival or concert, not like Spunky.
(13:15):
But then it was like because I said no to it,
my brain was like that's the only thing you can
think right now, and I'm like I love having OCD anyway.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
So are you ready? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Okay, let's go.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
FUCKU go god Ski The villain gurgled and hissed as
it took shape, towering it over twelve feet tall and
still slowly growing in width and height as he seemed
to suck up all the moisture in the ground.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
Why the fuck did you know his name? Who's fucking asking?
Speaker 2 (13:56):
Kotsky backed away a few paces, trying to quickly glance
around to see if anyone else was in immediate danger.
Adria was on the other side of things, surrounded by
most of their staff, Mina and Uroraka, grabbing onto one
of his arms as he studied them, but his eyes
were wide and terror and glued to Kotski. Decca wasn't
far from them and looked much the shape. I was
(14:17):
doing real well, too, Deca, we got this. Decca wasn't
far from them and looked much the same. It's really
hard to hiss and r by the way, It's like impossible.
(14:38):
The slime sledge villain gurgled as it shuddered, and two
long and thick armlike appendages formed before it stretched out
and refocused on Kotsky sense his her cards. He grew.
(15:00):
Before Kotsky could do anything else, one of the arms
shot out, and he found his torso encased in the
gelatinous substance. As he was lifted into the air. In
the background, he could hear screams, but what stuck out
to him was one deep no. As Kotsky took deep,
(15:21):
I guess I gave Danky a deep voice. My god, interesting,
I don't think I meant to do that that way.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
It reads weird.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
Anyway, We're moving on, I guess he has a de voice. Sorry, Donky,
you don't mean to say that. He can't have a deepvoice.
Just anyway, moving on, But what stuck out to him
was one deep no. As Kotsky turned his head, struggling
to get loose, to see Danky, of all people, running
full speed at the villain. Kosky's eyes widened as he
opened his mouth to yell at Danky to stop, but
(15:49):
just as he did, the slime rippled up his body
and he was forced to snap his mouth shut, just
in time for the cold, sticky substance to crawl over
his lips and stop just under his nose. Let him go,
you fussarmon nose is running. Let him go, you fuck Dinkie, swore,
armed with nothing but that fucking binder of.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
HR violations, but he swung it valiantly.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
And it was It was instantly sucked out of his
hand by the slime and lobbed like a club right back,
hitting him in the forehead before getting sucked back in
HR binder, now absorbed and floating into the villain's mass.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
Danky himself, much.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
To Kotsky's relief, had been grabbed around the middle as
he'd fallen by a quick to reaction, So who was
carrying him away from the villain before he could get
snatched up to Kotsky seemed to be the target. He
noted that meant he either needed him alive or would
only kill him after he got whatever he wanted. It
also meant he had no reason to spare anyone else
who got involved. Kosky scrambled against his captor, now up
(16:50):
to his nose and slime, trying to figure out something,
anything he could do, anything he could learn, but.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
What was there? He had no idea who or what
Rappa was.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Everything that had so far touched the slime had gotten
sucked into it with ease, though Kotsky suspected some level
of struggle could have been possible if it hadn't immediately
enveloped him in the way that it had. His legs
were still free and kicking, though too far to reach anything,
and even that was growing risky as the villain lifted
him higher, even as even if he managed to break
(17:21):
free or slip loose, the fall would definitely injure him,
or if he kept growing worse. And worst of all,
Kotsky couldn't speak. He couldn't risk opening his mouth while
the slime waited for the opportunity against his lips. He
huffed another breath out of his nose, settling on glaring
and kicking, pinch sorry. Pinned in the mass, he found
his arms almost impossible to move. In fact, he managed
(17:44):
only with great exertion to move his hand about a
fraction of an inch. After Kumnari's attempt, the slime villain
had roared loudly, face slipping through its body to pop
out the other side to frighten the others, and it worked.
The chaos was immediate as Kotsky saw i zawa a
yamada try to get every and further away and called
for help. The villain laughed, at least Katsky figured that's
(18:05):
what it was, and from its body, smaller slime creatures
popped off, rushing over the grass towards the others and
chasing them further away, though Kotsky noted it didn't attempt
to capture or incapacitate them, possibly two weak to do so,
not that he could do anything with that information. God,
he wanted to scream, He wanted to scream and fight
and kick, and where the fuck was red riot Katski
(18:29):
Deku pulled away from his group and jumped over a
smaller slime running across the land straight for him, and
Kotski tried in vain to scream through his own clothes
mouth for him to stop, but he didn't need to.
Out of nowhere, suddenly Red Riot jumped onto the scene, ground,
cracking beneath his feet. This alone did not deter Dekku
at all, but it did shock Ida the younger into action,
(18:53):
and he ran after Dekku, tackling him to the ground
and using a surprise to pick him up and run
away from where a Red Riot bared his teeth at
the villain and let out a roar of his own.
Put him down right, yelled, and the villain chuckled again
him what's so special about him? He popped his eyes
(19:15):
through his body, again, leaving his mouth on Riot's side,
but his eyes were now facing Kotsky, who did his
best to glare through the slime. What's so special about you?
The villain taunted, and Kotsky felt the slime crawled down
to fully encapsulate his legs. Can't have you going splatt
(19:38):
before the finale, the villain laughed, and Kotsky's muscles burned
under the exertion of trying to struggle against the slime
that had him all but immobilized, and then the villain
began to move, sliding onto the streets, absolutely ignoring every
hit red Riot tried to land on him. It wasn't
(20:00):
and he wasn't making contact. Kotzi couldn't see much from
his limited vantage point, but he gathered just bout enough
to make out that Riot was slicing through the slime effortlessly,
only for it to immediately fuse back together again. It
also seemed to not be able to cling to ryot
the way that it could cling to Kotski, so at
least it didn't seem like the villain could just scoop
(20:21):
him up too.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
Fuck.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
He hoped Adrea was okay and that he'd gotten people
out of danger and was far far away from this.
Kotsky heard a metallic groan beneath him before a rushing
hiss of water Raya must have broken a fire hydrant.
He barely managed not to open his mouth to gasp
as he was suddenly lurched upwards, and the villain began
to rapidly grow, now putting a distance between Kotsky and
(20:45):
the ground comparable to a small multi story building. Kotsky
felt the slime inch upwards on his mouth and realized
several things at once.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
The slime sludge.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
Villain absorbed water, and the water changed his consistency. He
was about ninety percent sure the villain hadn't meant to
cover more.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
Of Kotsky in the slime.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
Instead, Kotsky had, because of gravity, slipped further into the
swelling slime because it had become slightly less dense. He'd
have to communicate this to Riot, who might not have
noticed the change yet. And this wasn't a scenario where
Kotsky wanted to wait and hope he would soon.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
So he would he would.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
Have to tell him, and he would have to open
his mouth to do so. With the change in consistency,
Kotsky felt like he could just about tilt his head
back and give himself half an inch for his upper
lip to come free. He'd likely only have a second,
maybe less distracted as he was with whatever he was
getting from Riot and wherever he seemed to want to
(21:48):
take Kotsky. The slime villain would still definitely notice this,
But what choice did Kotsky have. He wasn't exactly the
damsel in distress type. But even if if he didn't
make it, this villain was dangerous. If he could help
take him down, then he had to. Kotsky took a
(22:08):
last deep breath through his nose, wrenched his head back
and screamed more water and then everything went green.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
The slam. I scared my neighbor.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
That's some sorry, Okay, it's never happened. They were on
the stairs and they're behind me, like through the wall.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
You could hear them.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
When I said the more water bar, I heard the
steps stumble.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
And then continue when I kept talking.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
Oh my god, oh no, I'm so sorry.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
Everything went green.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
The slime covered his head immediately, pouring into his mouth
and nose, stinging his eyes as if Kotsky were diving
in a pool without goggles. At his best, calm and prepared,
Gotsky could hold his breath for almost a minute and
a half. Now, He figured he had about forty seconds
(23:30):
before he started to choke, and after that it wouldn't
be more than a minute until he lost consciousness. He
noticed ten seconds in that the slim around him was
getting thinner. The world was slightly less screen tinted twenty
seconds in everything shook as if underwater. Sorry, everything shook,
and as if underwater. He heard the villain taunting Riot
(23:53):
and others, asking Riot why he was running, asking if
he was scared. Was Kotsky scared? Ten seconds left? By
his count, He didn't have the time.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
Really.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
His lungs burned. He couldn't keep his body still much longer.
He was strangely cold, all of a sudden, faster than
he would have expected that sensation to come, he thought,
as he closed his eyes and against every fiber in
his body inhaled wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up,
wake up, I need you to wake up. Kotsky heard
(24:31):
this bizarrely familiar voice, before feeling the faint impression of
lips on his as he swam in and out of consciousness. Jesus, fuck,
because he's still blurring red ride and age room and
he's subconscious somewhere.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Why the fuck? Oh fuck? That hurts.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
A firm pressure to his chest wrenched Kotsky awake, and
he turned immediately to cough water and slime out of
his lungs, blinking through blurred vision. He was on a rooftop.
He must have fallen at some.
Speaker 1 (24:59):
Point, and then rioted Riot.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
Fuck, he croaked, glancing up to see Red Riot leaning
half over him, but where his hardening usually covered his
whole body, his hands were soft, as was the lower
half of his face. The familiar nose, soft flushed lips,
(25:28):
and sharp teeth greeted Kotsky as his vision cleared. Lips
that he knew, teeth that he knew, tiny mole just
above his jaw on the right that he'd kissed before.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
Oh my god, thank god.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
Riot's voice was still distorted, but not as much as usual,
throat still covered in jaggy, rocky textures, and in it cut,
he heard him much more familiar sound. No no, Kotsky
shook his head heavy as his skin buzzed and he
(26:12):
choked his furst salime free breaths, unable to keep the
words from spilling out of his adrenaline riddled body. No No,
because you wouldn't You wouldn't have, Kotsky please. Cozy felt
like if he hadn't just hacked up half a lung's
worth of slime and water, he'd be at risk of
throwing up. He looked at Ryde's eyes, looked right above
(26:35):
them as he blinked, and oh god, there was a
tiny dip. There was a tiny dip in the rocky
surface above his eyelid. His mind flashed back to the
very first time they'd met Karashima, picking him shards of
broken glass like it was nothing, the amusement in his voice,
(26:59):
and Kotski told him to be careful the scar above
his eye, the first time they'd spoken properly, and Kamie
had made fun of him and his headphones, and Kashima
had looked like he was trying not to laugh, though
there was no way he could have heard unless memories
(27:19):
flooded Konski's brain as tears pricked in his eyes and
he shuffled back, pressing a palm to them.
Speaker 1 (27:25):
This couldn't be happening. He was dead.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
He was dead, and hell was real and he was
there only only if he was dead. He didn't think
he'd ache all over and no, no, because he'd had
to evangelize Red Riot to agi Row h Row, who
had been allegedly too afraid to even move in a
villain attack back in his hometown, and Red Riot who
(27:49):
jumped in the path of bullets without hesitation, Red Riot,
who had laughed his ass off when Coskey told him
he had feelings for someone at work. I can explain later,
I can explain. Riot's words pulled his focus to the
(28:10):
present again, as warm, soft hands reached for.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
Him, show me your face.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
Kotsky whispered, and Riot hesitated, and Kotsky forced his features
into as good a glare as he could muster.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
Show me your face. He held red.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
Riot's gaze firmly as he clenched his shaking hands, and
for the first time in his life, began begging in his.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
Head, please please let it up be him. Please let
it not be true.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
It's not true.
Speaker 1 (28:44):
It won't be It can't be him because he because
it's not. It's just not. It's not him.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
Kotsky red Riot adriro Let, the hardening slip down his
throat clear, the rest of his face, voice raw with emotion, kotschiams.
Kotsky felt the tears burn hot behind his eyes, in
spite of how cold the rest of him felt. All
(29:13):
this time, Kotsky did it all wrong, his profession, his fearlessness.
He wasn't overwhelming Achro. God, he must have been dying
trying not to laugh at Kotsky every time. It had
been a drow yelling at him at a crime scene,
and also Atro texting him false apologies, swearing he never
(29:35):
wanted to make Kotsky feel like he didn't think he
could handle himself, a drow discouraging him from pursuing the interview,
and then a ti row showing up bleeding on his balcony.
Blew right, Oh god, Kotsky was going to pass out.
He was going to pass out. He remembered what he'd
said to Danky, red eyes, Really, I have red eyes?
(29:59):
Do you think I'm read raw? Idiot? Were you ever
gonna tell me? Kotsky asked, dizzy sensation building in his head.
Adro hesitated, So no, Kotsky thought, Wow.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
I never wanted to hurt you. I just I was
keeping you safe.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
There's a line, if Kotsky's ever heard one. He'd laughed,
but his throat felt like it had been shredded, and
he wasn't kidding about feeling that he might pass out again.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
Yeah, how'd that work out?
Speaker 2 (30:36):
Kotsky hacked some more and spat out the watery slime,
and Adro blanched. I I never I didn't expect any
of this, and you stop.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Stop.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
Kotsky figured it was only because Riya could hear every
quiver in his voice that he actually fell still, but
at least it worked. He didn't have to look up
to know Adro had resumed hardening his entire body. You
need medical attention, he said in Riot's voice.
Speaker 1 (31:14):
Get us off the fucking roof.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
Then Kotsky's always cracked halfway through as he coughed, and
then he was being picked up against a softer chest,
in softer hands that he'd so ironically often dreamed about.
But it was the soft hands he dreamed about and
the soft kind man they'd belonged to, a man who
(31:37):
might not have been real at all. He closed his
eyes and barely paid attention to Riot ripping the access
to tore off of the roof and rushing them down
the stairs to the elevators. The ride down eighty floors
followed in dead silence, though Kotsky suspected it was in
part of the subject matter of their conversation, and primarily
(31:59):
because Riot was listening carefully to Kotsky's heart beat because
he could he always could, not always been able to.
He had heard every moment that he'd made Kotsky's breath
hitch where his heart skip heard every thirsty, pathetic thing
Kotsky had ever mumbled under his breath about him or
(32:20):
told Kamy on the phone. The doors dinged, and Riot
stepped out of the elevator before gently helping Kotsky to
his feet, only letting go when it was clear Kotsky
wasn't going to immediately fall. Kotsky clung to the wall
and studied himself. He didn't have to look to know
the hardening was back on again. This was where a
red Riot made his ex hit.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
Kotsky.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
I don't remember giving you permission to use my name Riot.
Kotsky almost wished the words had come out harsher instead
of the weak, hoarse rasp of his aching voice. Riot
recoiled as if Kotsky had punched him. I I'm so sorry,
Koski paused and felt his face nearly crumple. He took
(33:08):
a shaky breath and whispered through his hoarse voice. I
want nothing more than to walk through these doors and
see my boyfriend waiting for me. And I wanted to
see him so relieved that I'm okay and he almost
(33:30):
falls over, and I want to see his red rimmed
eyes because because he's so sensitive and he worries so much,
and I want to fall into his arms and let
him take me to the hospital where he'll drive the
doctor's gracey. He heard a choked, distorted sound behind him.
(33:53):
I I want that too, Kossie shook, it, said, turning
to barely speak over his shoulder, voice tight and eyes
on the floor as he cut him off. But how
can I believe a single thing that comes out of
your mouth right now? And with that he pushed himself
(34:16):
to stagger through the doors, the glare of the sun
blinding him again for a moment before he was swarmed
by paramedics and reporters. The latter were driven away quickly
by an authoritative Isawa, who had bullied his way past
the hastily erected barricade to be there when Kotski emerged,
and whose strong hand steadied Kotsky enough to be able
to make it to the paramedics van without a stretcher.
(34:38):
Asaua didn't speak to him, nor did he give any
indication that he needed Kotsky to speak. In fact, he
wouldn't have spoken at all, Kotsky figured if one paramedic
hadn't motioned for Kotsky to lay on the stretcher to
be restrained for the trip to the hospital, and as
Awa managed somehow to call the man a tactless idiot,
without ever using those exact words, and without much fuss.
Kotsky was allowed to remain unrestrained from the hips up
(34:59):
for the quick trip, with Isawa in the accompanying seat
beside him. Kotzki, for his part, remained as silent as possible,
locking away every stray emotion he could catch for the
time being, choosing instead to focus on getting through everything
immediately to come. His phone and keys had been in
his bag somewhere back in the park that hopefully someone
(35:21):
from the staff had picked up. Kamie was going to
be absolutely beside herself. Fuck that she worked in news.
She was likely already absolutely beside himself, beside herself. His parents, well,
Deca was probably handling their parents. Cuminari, he tried to
save Koszi had gotten knocked out. Cuminari is fine. He
(35:43):
woke up before you came out. His ambulance is ahead
of ours, but it's just for observation. Isaua replied in
that low monotone drawl that Kotski had never found comforting,
specifically before now. Isaah hesitated as if he weren't sure
about telling Kotzki something, and Kotzi's eyes wide in fear,
but then he shook his head.
Speaker 1 (36:02):
Stop.
Speaker 2 (36:03):
Everyone is fine. Da is also in an ambulance ahead
of ours. That is all Ida, the sportswriter. Katski blinked
and for the first time that day surprised in a
way that didn't make him nauseated. Asawa cleared his throat
as he quietly replied, it seems that post carrying him
(36:27):
to safety, he had an altercation with editor Medoria. Katsky
squinted up at the older man and I saw his
mouth twitched at the corner as he met Kotzki's eyes.
Medoria managed to kick him in the forehead, stunned him
enough to drop him, and then Judo flipped him. He
(36:49):
is also fine, just needs to stay for observation. Medoria
is on his way to the hospital to meet us.
He came back as fast as he could, but the
fight was already ending. At the mention of it, Kotsky's
body tensed up again, and he schooled his impression into
grim noidra into grim neutrality to keep himself together. A
moment of silence passed before Isawa glanced at him cold
(37:14):
He asked, and Kotsky nodded before Iesawa glared at the
mid paramedic next to them until they gave him another blanket.
That's from the fire extinguishers, Isawah said, and Kotsky blinked
in confusion. The what.
Speaker 1 (37:31):
Fire extinguishers?
Speaker 2 (37:33):
They didn't see exactly what happened, Riot and some nearby
citizens broke open a bunch of fire hydrants and then
hit the villain with fire extinguishers from a building close by,
froze his coarse solid, Riot tore his heart out. Kowsky
knew the feeling. He nodded slowly as he digested the
(37:54):
new information and fell silent, hitting his limit again for
the time being, as he pulled the new blanket as
I continued to look at him, even after Kotsky had
averted his gaze directly and seemed to understand that Kotski
needed to keep himself together right now, that now was
not the time to fall apart, not yet, and he
(38:16):
too averted his gaze to join Kotsky and staring at
the doors at the in staring at the doors of
the ambulance in silence, again small break. Hours of scans
and tests later, Kotsky was cleared to go home, with
strict instructions to return to the hospital shouldn't the adverse
effects pop up so they didn't expect it. Somehow he'd
(38:39):
managed to get through Decu's arrival and shake off his
inquiries for another day. He had brought Katsky's bag, though
rescued from.
Speaker 1 (38:46):
The scene huh oh.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
God recovered from the scene after he'd incapacitated Ida, and
Katsky was relieved to see its contents unharmed. His phone
lit up with countless notifications, and then died from the exertion.
Another feeling he could relate to in the moment, he thought,
as he pulled his house keys out, thumbing over the
little kat keychain hanging off of them.
Speaker 1 (39:10):
Something was still normal. Queenie.
Speaker 2 (39:15):
He had Queenie, and she wouldn't care about Adriro or
Red Riot, or slime villains, or news cycles or hysterical
best friends or anything. She'd have gotten her food from
the timer by now, and all she'd care about was
Kazki coming home to hold her and pet her fur
and tell her what a good girl she was.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
Kotzki felt his eyes grow hot again as something went
splashed his cheek got schan.
Speaker 2 (39:38):
Deku reached for him and wrapped him in a hug,
and for half a second Kotsky allowed it before he
stoically grabbed his brother by the forehead and shoved Deku.
Kotski cleared his throat, voice still a bit rough. If
you ever use my fucking government name again, I'll fucking
kill you. Give me the biggest ache of my life.
(40:00):
If even a single person thinks we're anything but family
when I clock into work tomorrow, as I will cleared
his throat on Monday, then fuck he cleared his throat
again Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (40:11):
Do you want me to kill myself?
Speaker 2 (40:13):
Kotski glared at his boss, and the older man met
his gaze deadpan and unimpressed, and simply blinked, fuck her.
If anyone thinks we're anything but family because you said
my first name, I'm blowing up your apartment. Decu nodded,
small smile, already turning into a relieved grin. Don't worry.
I'll make sure everyone knows exactly who you are, Big Brett.
(40:36):
I will strangle you with my ivy tube. If you've
finish that sentence, Now tell me you brought some fucking clothes.
I don't want to go home in scrubs. Another small break.
The next morning, Kotsky woke up in his bed Queenie
Jesus Christ. Queenie pressed close to his side, nose pressed
(40:57):
against his cheek on the pillow where they had fallen
asleep with it, him gently petting her until he'd finally
passed out. A snore on his floor reminded him of
what he and Deku had found upon their arrival. Kamie
in tears sitting outside his door, who had thrown her
arms around him in a tight hug before setting off
Decu's waterworks, and then Kotski had wrangled them into his
(41:17):
living room before banning them from expressing a single emotion
until he had slept, and in an effort to both
support him and further ruin his life, Deku had looked
at Kami and choked out. He said, I gave him
the ich earlier, and then Kami had laughed so hard
she'd started crying all over again. In the end, they
had focused on just keeping a watchful eye over him
(41:38):
as he carefully got changed and into bed with Azuku
taking the couch outside and Kami taking the floor next
to his bed without hesitation.
Speaker 1 (41:46):
Knowing that as.
Speaker 2 (41:46):
Good as their relationship could ever be, Kotsky wouldn't want
Azuku in the room while he decompressed with Queenie, Hey Blondie.
Kotsky croaked as he sat up, pulling Queenie into his
lap so she could.
Speaker 1 (41:57):
Continued sleeping close to him.
Speaker 2 (42:00):
Camey shut up, hair in her face and not even
opening her eyes fully before she was crawling over to him.
Speaker 1 (42:06):
Was it, what's happening? What was happening? Was shaking? She
sniffed as she blinked herself awake.
Speaker 2 (42:13):
Kotsky looked at her and let out an irritated sigh.
Speaker 1 (42:20):
I love you.
Speaker 2 (42:21):
I wanted to make sure you knew that. Don't lose
your mind. We're never speaking of this again. Her lowly lip,
her lower lip wobbled dangerously, but she clamped her mouth
shut and nodded excitedly, leaning forward till Lancha latched onto
the arm that wasn't letting that Oh my god, that
wasn't Penny Queeny and giving him a small hug. Lord,
(42:42):
this was going to fill his physics. Lord, this was
going to fill his physical touch quota for the year
for people who weren't aged. His face fell and Camey's
eyes widen as she quickly began scanning him for injuries
or signs of danger. What's wrong, Bakubay?
Speaker 1 (42:59):
What happened?
Speaker 2 (43:00):
Did something happen deck that was way too deep for dec?
I'm so sorry. Did something happen that was too you
know what. We're just gonna go with it. Dec Wu
burst through the bedroom door, causing Queenie to startle and
dig her wayander the Doubet to hide in Kotsky's lap
and protest, But Kotsky remained frozen as every memory from
the last day came together and hit him like a
ton of bricks.
Speaker 1 (43:21):
Catch on, is he what happened?
Speaker 3 (43:23):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (43:24):
We were talking and his face just well.
Speaker 1 (43:26):
I went back to normal, you know, but it wasn't
normal before. It wasn't normal.
Speaker 2 (43:30):
Shut fucking god, stop, shut up. Kotzky closed his eyes.
I'm fine, I'm fine. I just remembered everything I want.
Can you fuck off for a few hours. I'm fucking fine.
My phone is charged. I'll stay in bed.
Speaker 1 (43:45):
I just need to be alone.
Speaker 2 (43:48):
At their hesitation, Kotsky sighed, you can come back for
what time is it?
Speaker 3 (43:55):
Fuck?
Speaker 2 (43:55):
Okay, you can come back at five pm. Pretend you
can make me eat dinner and stop me from cook
the whole shebang. Okay. Kamie nodded first, standing and grabbing
her overnight bag, and it was only then that Kotsky
noticed she'd slept in her date clothes. He didn't even
think she'd taken off her makeup, much less even touched
her ten steps can care routine. His heart clenched, and
(44:15):
it had nothing to do with the aching soreness from
a CPR.
Speaker 1 (44:19):
She pulled Decu out of.
Speaker 2 (44:20):
The bedroom, and five minutes and some hushed voices later,
he heard his front door click shut. Queenie chirped up
at him, poking her head out of the blanket and
pawing at him as she registered his growing distress. He
quickly resumed letting her. Sorry, it keeps saying letting her
and I'm like, God, I fucking auto courrected when I
said petting her ass. He quickly resumed petting her and
tried to slow his breathing to match hers. He had
(44:44):
to eat something, probably, call his parents, text Cuminari what
he'd text him he didn't even know about something. Surely
probably text Herzawa. He wouldn't be expecting an update. Pakotzky
knew him well enough to know that he'd be silently
worrying until he got one. Adro Kotsky hadn't even checked up,
(45:06):
but he knew a portion of the notifications that had
crashed his phone had probably been him. Was he listening now?
How far did superhero go? Could he tune it out?
Speaker 1 (45:16):
If Kosky cried? Would he know?
Speaker 2 (45:18):
Would he care? Or was this just part of his cover?
And who was he really? The bold flirt or the
shy meteorologist? Did it either part of him?
Speaker 1 (45:28):
Ever?
Speaker 2 (45:29):
Actually like Kotsky, Queeny dragged her wet nose across Kotsky's wrist,
and he blinked as he shook off his thoughts you're
right as usual? He pressed to kissed her forehead and
closed his eyes to relish the rumble of her immediate pourer. First,
before anything else, he needed to shower.
Speaker 1 (45:49):
Again, and that phew.
Speaker 2 (45:54):
Lord, I promise happy endings, but things must be dealt with.
Secret identities are messy business.
Speaker 1 (46:00):
What do you guys think?
Speaker 3 (46:01):
I know?
Speaker 2 (46:01):
This was a long waited moment, and there were several
ways you guys guessed it might happen. I hope it
didn't disappoint. Don't worry. Our lovers will figure things out.
But I think they both have a lot to think about.
Another update, I cut some type I was right after uploading,
and I think I fix most of them.
Speaker 1 (46:14):
Now, No, you fucking did not. You did not, well,
maybe most of them. I don't remember how many it was, but.
Speaker 2 (46:19):
You didn't catch all of them, just you know, from future,
from from present me to pass me. You fucking missed
a few. But what happens is often that I write
when I can't, especially when I can't sleep, and that
means that I write up until I pass out, which
means when I post an update most of the time,
I'm about to pass out. And I get so impatient
(46:41):
because I because it took so long sometimes to get
around to her to do that. I uploaded immediately instead
of waiting till the next morning to check it because
I am afraid that adhduys, I will lose momentum.
Speaker 1 (46:52):
So that's why.
Speaker 2 (46:56):
Yeah, I hope you guys here on the pod pics enjoyed.
Speaker 1 (46:59):
I hope this long awaited moment was satisfying.
Speaker 2 (47:02):
I am going to be listening to this when I
like right now, I'm gonna be uploading and the I'm
going to listen to it back right now on Patreon.
I'm frequently in my own Patreon listening to my shit.
I also realized that I do believe actually that we're
very close to finishing Pearl Diver.
Speaker 1 (47:23):
So that means that next.
Speaker 2 (47:25):
Month, the two public pod fis will be the last
chapters eight and nine of Pearl Diver, which means that
the audiobook will come out next month for December, the

the Patreon store, or if you're a member of the
Tier two membership, you will be able to have access
(47:45):

So the best benefactor of Tier is access to all

Speaker 1 (47:57):

Speaker 2 (48:02):
I did. I did tear up. I did have a
couple tears run down my face in between, and I
did have a really ready nose, as you can hear
and heard, my nose is so itchy right now. I'm
gonna god, do I look like I've been crying? Ooh,
my nose is spread? No, you know what, I might
(48:25):
take a selfie and post it to the Patreon, but
that will be that'll be a paid perk only. No
free crying pics unless you're my best friend, in which
case I send you pictures of me crying on a
regular basis, but usually for comedic effector because we're watching
something that made me cry. Yes, okay, so that's what's
