Today’s topic is my unexpected moment with Tisha Campbell. Sometimes I like to have a little fun on social media. One of my favorite celebrities is Tisha Campbell. The incredibly talented and beloved Tisha Campbell. That’s right! From Martin where she played Gina, the lovely girlfriend we all knew and adored. Well let me tell you what went down!
I’m scrolling on social media, and I can’t resist the urge to tease Tisha a little. I’d send her messages calling her Gina and even hit her with a hilarious GIF of Martin Lawrence‘s character, Sheneneh banging on the door. yelling. I would write: Come out of there. Just a little jokey poke ,you know? It was all in good fun, but let’s be real. I thought there’s no way she’d see little Ol’ me just a regular gal having some laughs. I wrote and said a lot of things to Tisha. Not all the things I said were jokes.
But then, bam! One day out of the blue I get a notification. Tisha Campbell had actually replied to me. I was shocked. I mean I’m sitting here in my own little corner of the world thinking, “Ain’t nobody gonna pay attention to me.” But there she was. She called out some of my comments, said I was right about everything except for one thing.
She said, “You’re not a nobody.” I was like, “Wait! what?!” Tisha told me I was God’s child and that we all are. It made my heart swell. She even wished me a blessed day. Can you believe that?
Now,it was an eye-opener for me. I’ll be honest, I didn’t think of Tisha as someone who would be so openly spiritual, or who would recognize God in such a way. She told me some other wise words too about God another time, but that moment reminded me that you never truly know someone’s heart and soul Just based on their public persona.
So here’s the Takeaway: Whether you’re a Hollywood star or just someone like me, we all have our struggles, beliefs and stories, and sometimes a little kindness can make an enormous difference.
So Tisha, if you’re out there listening, thank you for that reminder. You’ve gained a lifelong fan, and I can’t wait to see what you do next.
