Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back to the second half of Tom'spolka Party. We
are celebrating the Mount Angel Orgon Octoberfests on the program today.
That Octoberfest starts September eleventh and goes through the fourteenth
in the wonderful town of Mount Angel, Oregon, about forty
miles southwest of Portland. They are in their sixtieth year

(00:22):
this year. That's right, six zero sixty years of the
Mount Angel Organ Octoberfest. I'm want to give you some
more music that gives you a feel and the flavor
of the Mount Angel Organ Octoberfest. They tell you. I've
been going there for twelve thirteen, maybe a little more years.
I've quit counting, but I have so much fun. And

(00:43):
thank you to the group of Family Band who was
instrumental in getting me up there to see all these
fine bands. It is my favorite Octoberfest to go to.
You may notice I do two three shows in the
September time frame honoring this wonderful Octoberfest and in no
particular order. Here's why it's my favorite. Well, number one,
it's all the friends I've made and all the friends

(01:05):
I have that come there. Wonderful musicians who also make
up some of the friends, wonderful food you know me
and the schnitzel sandwiches from Saint Mary's. Oh yeah, if
you know me, you know I eat many of those
during the four days of the Mount Angel Organ Oktoberfest,
as well as more sausages than I should. Also the
drinks and the wines. I love sampling the different wines

(01:27):
of Oregon. There just a fun, fun time with many
great people in the little town of Mount Angel. Now
this band is considered the house band because most of
them grew up in and around Mount Angel. It's the
z music makers. Let's do a good German song. The
Fisherman vom bodense.
