Speaker 1 (00:09):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
We talked about this two weeks ago when we said
where two or three are gathered in my name? There
am I in the midst. Let me explain something about Jesus,
because I think too often we don't get this.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
For Timothy two five.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
There's one mediator between God and man, and that is
the man Christ, Jesus. Notice he says Jesus the Nazarene,
referring to his earthly place where he was raised. He says,
I give you Jesus the Nazarene in the name of
Jesus of the Nazarene. Walk Jesus as the god Man

(00:51):
because he's fully God. He reaches heaven because he's fully man.
He reaches history because he's fully God.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
God. He exists in eternity because he's fully man. He
operates in time.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Because he's fully God, he can connect with up there,
but because he's fully man, he can relate to down here.
See Jesus, the name above all names, is not just
a name. He's the name whose job description is to
connect Heaven with Earth. That's his full time job as

(01:29):
the mediator and the intercessor.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
His job is to connect heaven with earth.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
And because he's got a job description that brings together
time and eternity. If you know that name, you got
that connection. If you don't know that name, then you
don't have that connection. So if you don't know that name,
you better have some folk in your life who do.

(02:00):
He's some brothers or sisters in your life who know
that name.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Look.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Look, because the name is not merely nomenclature. When he
says in the name of Jesus, he's talking about the
authoritative use of the name.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
He mean talking about people going around saying Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Jesus said, he ain't talking about that, He's talking about
the authority. Look, if I walk up to the White
House and said my name is Tony Evans and I
need you to let me in, they're gonna say who,
They're gonna say what, they gonna say, we don't know you.
In other words, your name has no clubt in this house.

(02:40):
Your name, your name, your name has no meaning in
this location. Now, if you come to Old Cliff Bible
Fellowship and say Tony Evans, at least for a few people,
I got a name an Old Cliff Bible fellowship. My
name is known, I can send the security to do this.
That why because in this house, at that house sixteen

(03:03):
in Pennslvania Avenue, my name doesn't mean anything. In this house,
I can get some things done because my name means
something here. It doesn't mean something there. Let me tell
you about Jesus's name. It means something up there and
down here. You talk about the secret sauce. Jesus says,

(03:27):
all authority belongs to me in.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Heaven and on earth.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
I've got clout in both locations equally at the same time. Listen,
if all you know is the name of God, you
don't have the right name. Not because God's name in gray.
God's name is great. But what God has done is
authorized the second member of the Trinity, Jesus Christ, to

(03:56):
operate in history from heaven.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
It is your connection with Jesus.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Look, you can go all over the place and name
the name God, and nobody's going to be offended because
nobody will know who you're talking about. It because God
comes in all different shapes and sizes, and you can
mean a megian different things just by saying God. Now,
once you bring up the name Jesus, you have to
find God very specifically, very directly, and very immediately, and

(04:29):
that's why the problem come. That's why when they asked
me to come pray for the city council, they said,
use the name God, but don't mention Jesus, because now
you've gotten God specific He didn't just say in the
name of God. He said in the name of Jesus,
because that name has been trademarked for authorized users only.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
You say, but I called out the name of Jesus, but.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Are you an authorized user? You see, calling out the
name doesn't mean anything if you have not been authorized.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
To use it.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
That's why when when those folks were trying to get
the demons to come out of that demon possessed person,
they said, in the name of Jesus, we call you out.
The demons looked at him and said.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Say, Jesus, we know Paul, we know who. Who in
the world are you?

Speaker 2 (05:34):
In other words, we don't see any authorization. That's why
you need to have a community of brothers and sisters
who you are close enough to who when you are
in a begging situation, you have you been locked down
with a with an addiction, a situation you can't fix
you need to be in touch with some folks who

(05:56):
can connect you to Jesus, whether or not they have
silver or gold. This ain't got nothing to do with
what their bank account looks like. In fact, it may
be the folk who don't have silver and gold who's
had to be in touch with Jesus long enough to
help you get to Jesus because they have learned to
depend on Jesus in a way you haven't learned, because

(06:17):
you've been hanging out with folk who only satisfied to
bring you to church, not bring you to Jesus, or,
as James puts it off, called the poor to be
rich in faith. See, because I know we like to
hang out with folk who can do something for us. Okay, well,

(06:37):
the folk who know Jesus can do something for you.
So here's what happens. Jesus's name gives you legal right
to transact spiritual business with God.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
Let me tell that again.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Jesus's name gives you legal right to transact spiritual business
with God. This is his name gives you legal rights
to transact business with God. In other words, he gives
you legal access to God when it comes through an
authorized agent of His in the name of Jesus the
