Speaker 1 (00:04):
I think I lost my voice a little bit, but
whoever's up, I wanted to read this.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Okay, you ready, Hi? So we're holding right now.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
I think it's two days before the schlo Shim of Dove,
maybe three days. The schlo Shim is when the avalist
ends holockically for many of the availan for children the minhog.
The minhog is to continue avail us for another eleven months,
but luckically it ends at the after slosh.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
So there's a lot of.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
The Schnaiest, a lot of the schneist that people committed
to that's going to be due.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
This seam is going to be made in just a
couple of days.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
So this is something that I wrote back in the
beginning of January, but I never really got a chance
to read it. Okay, So Mayor to people asked who
he was, right, do you know who he was? You'll
find out now, Mayor do dove Alkay, So it's a cousin,
Adele's son in law, all right, Mayor Dove.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Then mor Coin.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
He was a son, a father, a husband, a brother,
a friend, a grandfather, a son in law, uncle, cousin,
amongst other roles.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
And he was a true gift.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Dove was so dedicated in Torah yet so approachable. He
was the most relatable person in a certain way. It
felt like this was part of his essence in this
I'm gonna explain later on greatness in Torah, its holiness
and spirituality in general could sometimes create a distance, but

(01:43):
with Dove didn't. In fact, it brought out his good
character traits even more. He was a spiritually great person,
yet so easy to approach and connect with. Dove had
an immense love for Toro, a voda and harassed, including
a love for all people.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Regardless of background. His love or this love.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Was expressed in a way that was most unique and inspiring.
People that interacted with Dove felt cared for. This included
not just friends and family, but even those that never
met him before. Examples include Dove helping people in hotel
lobbies and other public places, whether it's searching for their
lost puppy or something else. He did so with such

(02:23):
devotion and the emos a pleasantness a passerby would assume
they are best of friends. Humility, the true greatness of
dovesitcus would be kept hidden in this way, for who
wouldn't be devoted to their close friend, His authentic humor
would only further disguise the greatness of his casset.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
The beneficiary would.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Walk away feeling good about themselves, barely aware that they
even were a beneficiary. In fact, the beneficiary would sometimes
feel like they did Dove a favor by providing him
with a good laugh, or an opportunity to connect, or
some other reason. In reality, this greatness was due to
the credit of dove humor. With his humor, love and

(03:06):
caring for others in a way that made them feel special,
Dove was able to inspire and connect with those from
all paths of life, regardless of what city, state, or
country they're living in or are from.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Tora.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Dove's love for studying Torah was expressed in many ways.
Two examples of this was his daily study of Da
Fiomi and his participation in Smikroskowr, which is the kabura
of Yoishimayan that study Haloha with rishown In and its
associating Gamara in depth Avoda.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Dove excelled in Avoda.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
For example, he had a love for filibet Sebor, never
missing aminion and many times even coordinating dominion. It's one
thing to hear of a ravoor rosieshiva excel in this area,
but when it's an ordinary person, someone who appeared ordinary,
it serves as extra inspiration. In this way, his influence
was able to reach areas that a rov could not,

(04:00):
for he spoke to the common folks mitos. His excellence
in metos was both in and out of the home.
His relationships with his immediate family an extended family was
something to admire. This demonstrates his authenticity, for this is
how he was even away from the public ety. Dove
greeted people be sever panimiyafos. He truly did, using not

(04:22):
just words, but even his body in facial expressions. He
greeted others with that twinkle in his eye, that warm
smile that made others feel special talents. Every trait and
hobby that he had was used litto ellis to benefit others.
As mentioned, one was humor. While some people's sense of
humor might be separate from good medos or even interfere

(04:43):
with them, with Dove, his humor enhanced his medos and
clothed them in him with humility. With Dove, frustrations, even
if caused by people, were often relieved through humor, and
with Dov's mentality of never holding a grudge, his anom
le chavera was complete.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Hobbies.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Dove's hobbies included a love for sports. This included both
playing sports and following sports. But if Dove his choices
were unique, the teams he followed were scattered across several cities.
He would root for the Denver team in one sport,
Chicago for another, New York for another. Why perhaps because

(05:23):
relating to others and connecting with them was part of
his essence, a life mission. As such, every hobby and
trade was used in this way, perhaps consciously or not.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
For Dove.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Sports wasn't just a way to connect with people from
one particular city. For Dove, sports was used to connect
with people from many cities. He used it for a
Vodha sasham at its maximum. Well balanced. Dove was a
well balanced individual as well. He had greatness along with
its fundamentals. He had the very fundamentals of what it
means to be a yehudi to give thanks Hakarsatov, feeling

(05:58):
and expressing gratitude, feeling blessed.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
That was very much part of who he was.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Inspiration Dove was and will continue to be an inspiration
to all that knew.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Him, making meaning of all this.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
Dove sadly passed away on Khanikov, the Yantiff we celebrate
Torchabal Path and the Yantiff designated to give thanks to
Usham for all that he has blessed us with nothing.
As a coincidence, these are two areas that Dove achieved
greatness has explained above, So perhaps Shamayim needed him there.

(06:37):
During that time period, Dove also passed away in Rashkodesh.
The sactification of the New Moon was the very first
midsto we were commanded to do as a nation. Our
nation connects us and connecting to others is another area
that Dove excelled at and in many ways made him
most unique. I wrote one last thing on grieving, but

(06:59):
here is that. Here's some additional words over there.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
I wrote this.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Anyone who wants to learn a missions the shama please
do please feel free to teach the missiona on this
WhatsApp chat. The letters in the words Mishna and the
Shama are the same. Are Sages say that Torah elevates
in the shama in the next world, and this is
especially true with mishna any achtus created from this chat,

(07:27):
goes Chlosopher's in Shama. Then I wrote the last thing
was grieving one last thing to note nothing giving more
painful than experiencing the loss of asotic or a loved one.
Attic touches people's lives in the most heartfelt ways and
is therefore most difficult to endure. In Dove's case, the
pain is multiplied in many ways. The availium include Dove's parents,

(07:47):
a wife whom he had a very close, long loving
relationship with, Yeah and children as young as the age
of five. What I think the world still living.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
There are no words that.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Can possibly even describe the pain, let alone bring comfort.
Waves of emotion, overwhelming emotion is all part of normal grieving.
These emotions come as waves and often conflict. It is
an extremely sensitive time for those.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
That are grieving.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Reminiscing stories about Dove and speaking of inspirational messages he
taught in his life are meant to be of greatest support.
At the same time, this is a super sensitive time
for those grieving, and it's understandable if you feel the
need to leave the group during this very sensitive time.
And I'm the one that left the group. Dove was

(08:46):
someone that brightened every person he interacted with. He was
a true mench, a pleasure to be around, and a
sincere person, very committed. I sometimes would go to Ussuran
and would see Dove during the week and or on Javis,
I would see Dove and I felt that connection get
a special pain to him, A little bit like Esther

(09:07):
Hamalco and how every nation thought she was one of them.
They would see themselves in her. And that's what Dove
felt like to me. He wasn't someone who was defined
by his choice of livelihood or any other official position
like Rosheshiva or rov. He was genuine and liked by everyone.
I remember speaking with Dover on twelve years ago after

(09:29):
one of our tennis matches, and somehow the topic of
making ali Yak came up. He told me he wanted
to make Aliyah. I asked him why. He told me
that his oldest daughter is almost in high school. He
said that he wants her to go to an all
girls' school and then in Chicago that does not exist,
a girls school that is also SIONI. I didn't really

(09:50):
think his family would move, so I wasn't so concerned
about it I was wrong. Around twenty fourteen, Dove and
his family moved. The reason he gave me resonated with
me strong because it was connected to Rinoch. It also
helped to explain the urgency. Usually people move after their
children have graduated, but that's when the move is motivated

(10:10):
by love of land. In Dove's case, it was connected
to Rinoch. If you reflect on this, it's quite clear
that we are speaking about someone that is willing to
put forth a lot of self sacrifice for what he
believes in and wife and family. He was well respected
because of who he was, but also Hashem made it
the people thought highly of him to the highest regard possible.

(10:33):
That's what it felt like to me. There was always
this sense that he was loved by Hashem. In addition,
as the Gamar says, someone who's loved down here, it's
a sign that he's loved in Shamayan when there's no
ulterior motive for loving him. It was mentioned a couple
times at the funeral that Yomhatsmud was the last day

(10:54):
the family spent together when Dove was healthy and well.
Hashem was dedicated to him. Regards darting Dove's most knitted values.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
I had this supposed to spend a lot of time,
quality time with especially when we were driving all the
way from Los Angeles to New York over a period
of more than a month, and I was so impressed
and so in ohe He never complained. He always made
a joke out of everything that happened, and we had

(11:39):
a lot of different experiences, but he was always taking
them with a smile no matter what happened. It was
so special to spend that time with him and to
learn from him. I remember once we actually came from
Israel and we landed in New York and we were
renting a car and he's going to drive to meet

(11:59):
his wife to be and I joined him for the ride.
So we were about to drive to Chicago, and this
says a little before ways came into being. So we landed,
we pick up the car and he says to me,
watch this and he goes to the lady behind the
counter and he says, excuse me, can you give us directions?

(12:19):
And she says sure, thinking he's going to ask her,
you know, how do I get from here Kennedy to
the Five Towns? Maybe to Manhattan? So he says, excuse me,
can you tell me how do I get from here
to Chicago. Lady looks at him, Chicago. She never heard
of such a thing, She says, I don't think I
even have a map all the way from here to Chicago.

(12:41):
And he looked at me and he winked with that
special smile that he had. Always tried to make people
just feel great, feel comfortable, always had a smile on.
And I will always remember him for that, making light
out of serious situations just to make people feel at ease,
making everybody smile all the time. I miss him terribly,

(13:06):
and I'm sure I will continue to miss him. But
people like Dove have the great choir to affect things
from above more so than they had from down here.
So Mitssham, he is a beseeching now on behalf of
the entire Mispaha, to only know Simhra, to only know
Naas and Mintsham. Soon speedily in our days we will

(13:28):
reunite when Trisa mays him takes place Emitta Sham because
of Mamash
