was doubtful to play with injuries last week. So the
fact that they, you know, managed on a quick turnaround,
there's like the Seahawks with Mike McDonald, they're building something.

They are definitely a team to watch, and I don't
think I think they're gonna be the team to take
this division away. From the Rams. The Rams don't even
really need to win the NFC West to be a
threat to make it to the Super Bowl, but especially
after how they lost to the Eagles where Jordan Davis

the top ten defense. I'm like, you could have fooled
me because ship they USC actually is like I think,
the number one offense in the country right now, number

one rushing offense. They leave the country in sacks. They
have more sacks now than they did all last season
sixteen sacks by the way, four games. Their D line,
the D line is is playing in their backfield like
Anti Lynn is definitely gonna be a head coach one day,

and all he has to do is just points to
what he's done for USC's defense because everybody's finally making
plays at the same time in that front seven. It's
just they have they're moving. They have Kamari Ramsey in
the slot because let's be real, they have injuries that corner,
and DJ Harvey has not played great at all this season.
He's been getting milk toasted just toasted, toasted. He gave

him a seventy five yard touchdown at the end of
the game against Michigan State last week. That was no
Brado and really us He's biggest defense, us He's biggest
weakness is and their only weakness honestly is their past defense.
They just can't get off. They can't stop teams from
completing passes. They're not really getting interceptions. It's like the

inverse of Lincoln's first year where they just kept getting
picks and kept getting turnovers. And you know, but when
it comes down to it, I still think, guess he
gets to win. I just like Waymon Jordan is looking like,

Eli Sanders can take one to the house. They still
have King Miller back there. They haven't even fully used.
So USC's run game has been going insane. Their tight
ends already have I think five receiving touchdowns on the year,
which is way more than they had last year, which
was none. Their offense is finally gelling just their past

defensive trash. But Camari Ramsey, I mean, you might as
well just play him at corner at this rate, they
kind of are. They got him playing in the slot
instead of just full time safety, because what's the point
of having two great safeties and you only got one
good corner, Like you're just gonna get picked on. So
they have to use like they've used him pretty much

the same way they use Taylor Bullock the year he
became All American before he got drafted, where hey, you're
gonna just take away are You're gonna you're gonna have
our toughest assignment in the past game pretty much because
we can't afford to have this league. That's why he's
not popping up on stat sheets like he was last

occasionally get the pick. But uh, their old line has
been amazing as far as just setting the tone and
then the run game, so and they're they're really killing
it in between the tackles. That's the thing. Like the
center guard. The biggest question mark was that center and
guard can kill it O'Connell to walk on, actually step

up and do what he's supposed to do. But yeah,
so I'm gonna go ahead and just play these postgame
interviews real quick Coach with the way they d line
and performed because most of the game they had like

almost under fifty yards rushing. How do you do you
feel like the vision that you had coming in? Do
you feel like they've exceeded it? Especially the defensive line.

And I got high standard for our D line, so
I don't. I wouldn't say they've excceated it, but I
would also say I'm really excited about the way we're
playing and just we're impacting the game. Like you just
every game we've played up to this point. You feel
the presence of our defensive line, you feel our depth,
and it's fun seeing those guys continue just to grow
and get better because which you still have so many

like kind of new young faces that are that are
contributors along with some older guys like Dead that have
been here. And the group's got a great vibe about them.
They're they're hungry, and I think they're gonna keep getting
better better.

Yeah, Coach with the way, Lincoln with the way obviously
Big Timmy. Today you talked about how you Donna want
to Kamari to be more vocal as a leader. How
has his role in doing that kind of helped the
linebackers up to speed.

He's he's he's involved in a lot of communication and
our defense. I think he's done a really good job
with it. And he's had to play, you know, some
different positions this year because that's what's been best for
the team and best for our defense. So his Unselfinness
has definitely showed up, and uh it's not He's definitely
steadying force for us and we're gonna need to continue
to have him be a great leader for us. And
then lastly, I want to say, you know, I know

Lake kick and all that, but but but the Trojan,
our fan base, Trojan Ace like they showed up tonight.
I mean that that's that's what it was. It was
a really really electric atmosphere in there. I appreciate everybody

have for guys and that they've made some strides. So
how do you feel like they did tonight overall?

And I feel like it made some pretty good strides overall,
though I know there's a lot of proof on on
our side of the end, but overall, man, I mean
just being able to go out there and go order
to get a win to the D line E per
usual is it's a really good feeling that had kind
of stacked those trying to stack those games back to
back to back. Yeah, credit all a different area for the.

D line On the run defense, you guys pretty much
help them for like thirty rest of yards most of
the game up until, like you know, they went on
the run. Was that something that was like heavily pre
starting this.

Week stopping the run, being able to pass the rush
of to stop the running beginning with but definitely going
into this game, we want to stop the run for short.
So yeah, that was a big emphasis for this week,
trying to hold them underneath the certain amount of yardists.

Obviously it's a defender, you know, you guys can used
to be on the receiving end of that. So how
do you know you kind of approached that during the week,
you know, just how to go about you avoiding targeting?

How I feel is kind of just be caught with

trying to go more shoulder. You know, it's it's a
hard thing to talk about, especially like in today's age
of the game, but yeah, I think it's just trying
to be for cautious kind of how you hit somebody, uh,
because you want to lay the boom, but like sometimes

what does it do for your defense, especially getting those

like a Rashaan Gary clone, Like he's he's starting to
get some action in. So it's it's gonna be interesting
to see. And but here's the thing. Here's the kicker.
Illinois like leads the country in like sacks. Even though

I think they've given up like sixteen sacks in four games.
They have not protected nus Meyer at all. And yeah,
they had some guys drafted, but you don't want that
USC defensive line mowing you down all game because if
you can't run and they're getting you off the field.
USC's gonna keep running and passing the ball. Mkyle Lemon,

you know another big game, could be a potential first
round pick. Great speed, great vision, because he's right before
got to the end zone, he almost uh turned you know,
like the last five yards before you got to the
en zone, like he just you could see him turn
into a returner and with that kind of vision and

run after the catch like he's gonna be dangerous. And
then you get uh Jacobe Lane coming back. I honestly
think they could probably beat Illinois by probably like a

targeting has been an issue. It was an issue at

uh Michigan State linebacker got popped for targeting. I gotta pay.

as much like they've the referees have definitely gotten better

was at a junior college in Texas. So he's twenty

at a JUCO and he's twenty four and now he
