Speaker 2 (00:19):
Hi, and welcome to my all new Lives Touch by
Pets podcasts. I'm certified trainer, Lisa D. Satin. I was
so much potential. I'm going to be your host and
I'm so glad that you're here. My goal with Lives
Touched by Pets is for it to be a friendly,
personable podcast that will give you reasons to laugh and celebrate, pause, reflect,
(00:45):
and feel understood. There will be stories and interviews you
may relate to. Hopefully you will leave feeling like you
were impacted in a meaningful way. And if you are,
then you know what I did. My purpose It's important
for me to spread hope and joy, to inspire a
(01:05):
curiosity about learning, and ultimately to strengthen lives and relationships.
That has been my focus for my entire adult life
and career, first using my communication skills to promote and
build communities around causes that were close to my heart,
then years later transitioning to using what I had been
(01:27):
studying about behavior and applied behavior analysis as it relates
to helping pats and people have better lives together. And
Applied behavior analysis, by the way, is looking at behavior
through the lens of what is the environment doing to
impact behavior and how can we change that behavior in
(01:49):
the most positive and least intrusive way. You'll be hearing
more about that through the podcast and love this work.
I have always had a big heart for non human animals.
It was about twenty four years ago when I began
studying behavior because of a problem that I had with
my own pet. I was really fortunate at the time
(02:13):
to have found doctor Susan Friedman, who then had a
list serve for parad owners around the world, teaching people
how to solve issues using ABA or applied behavior analysis
with their own pets. I'll tell you what it opened
my heart. It opened a floodgate of curiosity and I
(02:36):
have not stopped learning ever since then. I first began
writing about behavior, and I kept studying and studying, and gradually,
with more knowledge, I started earning certifications. I then went
full time into training and now I do a lot
of both consultations and training for manners and helping puppies
(03:00):
to succeed, and also working with families that have some
pretty difficult and challenging behavior issues with our pets. It's
really rewarding. I love this work, and I hope that
through this podcast you're going to be inspired, you're going
(03:20):
to start feeling understood, and you're going to leave with
some meaningful impact. So I hope that you'll come back
and visit often and look forward to seeing you more
in the future.
