Toyota tunder Studio, The Southern AnglersRadio Show presented by Marshall's Marine. Here
(00:23):
are your hosts, Captain E.Kennymore and the Bassmaster. Good morning,
fish heads, The Southern Anglers RadioShow is on the air. Hey,
(00:44):
We're coming to you live via theToyota Tundra Studio presented by Sparks Toyota where
the dealers always in and you cantell who wouldn't here? Sweet little Rusty
your head asked. Boats of MarsaMarina, Blacks Big Arstah, where every
day is a boat every day.I was gonna say out for good,
but remember the h and by theFreedom Boat Club. Are your boat is
(01:06):
waiting? Hey? And when youknow, this would be the first week
that we were recording the show, and Tony screwed it up. So we
are recording as we speak. Aswe speak, started over, let's start
it over all right, here wego, let's do it again. Take
two. Hey, we can editit. Oh yeah, we'll edit it.
What's up? Good morning, it'scold outside, a little chilly.
(01:27):
It is a great day to beindoors for a seminar and UH rayburn as
of last night posted that there willbe a couple of seats available. There's
still a couple of seats available forwalk in and that starts at nine,
correct right coastal Marine head over there. Go get some great tips and learn
from some of the best. Ithink Captain Jason Burton is going to join
us via UH phone here. Ofcourse he's speaking at twelve. I'll get
(01:52):
the whole line up up here ina minute. Who's speaking. But we
also want to continue we were talkingearlier. The thought, our thoughts and
prayers go out the family and allthe guy all the people out volunteering to
search um for Tyler up on theNorth End. And um. You know,
there's been a lot of talk aboutsafety and everything else this week,
(02:14):
and I know we covered it alittle bit last but man, you know,
so many different things can happen realquick, doesn't matter where you're at,
doesn't absolutely right man, fishing orwhatever. Just try to be safe
as you can out there, andespecially this time of the year. You
know, any time exposed to thatwater is not going to end well if
(02:35):
you're you know, we're talking whatfifty two degrees the water was, Yeah,
somewhere and in that fifty degree range, which is not good to be
in two for very long. Andthere's no doubt this week that the water
temperature dropped. We got a coupleof cold days again, winter's back.
That's right, well, groundhawk andthe groundhawks saw his shadow. I heard
that live on the radio while Iwas driving down the road. Yeah,
what a good thing is that?Thursday morning kind of predict because Wednesday the
(03:00):
groundhog has been wrong like sixteen outof twenty years, so just due the
opposite of what. Let you know, his overall records pretty good. It
is like seventy Where did this comefrom? What where did we rely?
I think it was like the oldrodent to tell us from way back when
they went up when it was ticketshead out of the ground came up with
(03:22):
it. Where did we start relyingon a rodent tell us? It's pretty
funny in it. But you knowwhat, pretty good predicting kind of ironic
that, uh, he says,he sees shadowing six more weeks of cold
weather, and then look at ourweather for the next two weeks, supposed
to be in the upper sixties andseventies for the next two weeks. Yeah,
(03:43):
that's I gotta be a good point, ton he's making right there.
Why do they have there's gonna bea line like the Mason Dixon line or
not gonna like the groundhog line.Feel up in there and didn't have one
a dolphin or something, a dolphinjumping because you look at it. You
know, Florida, the plant ofFlorida again, now they better crazy.
They had some premas here and there, but you know, buy and large.
(04:06):
You know that they stay pretty warmall winter. Yep, um Tony,
I hate you weren't here last week, but I do I do know
that he snuck and listened to theshow. You did not listen, you
did, I just the comments,uh and remarks continued through most of the
week, um and and most peoplewere in the same situation as me,
(04:28):
and they were sore from laughing.A monkey story, Kenny, monkey story,
I heard and Uh, yeah, bad. We didn't get that one
recorded. It was great. Yeah, too bad we didn't. It's gone.
Yeah, it's gone traveling somewhere. No, that's the thing about Kenny's
jokes. Once you hear him,he never recycled all. No, you
(04:51):
don't. You move on. Imean, for the most part, some
of yours are incriminating. So Igotta be careful. I have to tall
that like in the second person.Like a friend of mine, got a
friend let's uh, let's real quick. Ray Burn just texted me any walk
ins that come in this morning untilthey're sold out or twenty dollars? Nice?
(05:14):
So twenty one, yep, twentyone is that? It was twenty
There you go? Are you gonnasave a buck? Walk in? There?
You go? We were going tobe there, it was our original
plan. Yeah, but we optedto technical. We didn't want to leave.
We didn't want to and yeah that'swhat that's what it was. We
want to come see super Jenna.Yeah. So we're hanging out here in
the studio and we are lots offishing to talk about. I'll tell you
(05:39):
the Grand Strand Fishing Rodeo January hasended, and I'll go over the list
later and we're gonna talk a littlebit about each fish. I do have
some stories on each fish and wherethey were caught and everything else. Um
had a busy week this week wayin fish because Tuesday being the last of
the month, everybody want to doget out there. And um there was
(06:01):
some nice fish weight on Tuesdays.I sent you to pictures. Yeah,
there was some nice weather this pastweek. Yeah, you know, before
this little cold front. You know. I went back into the archives.
I was looking for actually, Ithink it was Jason Burton and I were
talking about his biggest sheep's head andhe sent me a picture of it or
something, and I knew I hada picture of somebody with a big sheep's
(06:23):
head, and I could not remember. I went back and I don't know
how I found it, but Ifound the picture of you at your house.
Yeah. When you took the pictureof that sheep, said before you
cleaned it in your kitchen Sinkum,And that was a monster to weigh that
thing, Yes, eleven pounds.Wow, that was a beast and it
looked like it it was. Thatwas in June. Well, it's not
(06:45):
hard to find that picture because everyyear I posted don't you the rest of
the day's I should be permanent profilepicture. It should be it should be
you don't catch him like that veryoften. And uh, that's for darn
sure. Well, also I'm tryingto Oh, I got to hang out,
and we'll hang out, bea thephone and talk to our good friend
George Pobomo this week for an episodeof Trilogy Outdoors podcast. And George never
(07:12):
let you down as far as entertainmentfactors, and we we kind of keyed
in and well, I dialed upBouncer Smith and brought bouncer in as a
surprise for George. And uh,those two, I mean we could we
just sat back. It was Jason, myself, Stephen. They were telling
fish stories. But then it turnedinto I told you about George's truck stowed
(07:34):
stolen last week. Yeah, andthey found it and the only thing missing
was the eleven boxes of Columbia boatshoes that he had in the backseat.
Uh, in case any of hisspeakers for the seminar showed up and didn't
have their own. That's part ofthe attire he had. They stole those
um and everything else. But thenwe talked again about the incident the selfish
(07:59):
or of word fish that pulled himoverboard, albeit whether it pulled him over
or oh, it pulled him over, regardless of whether it was a slipper.
If you ever watched that particular episode, oh, I've watched it like
nine times, as him off thatboat so fast. Man, it's like
now you see him now you don'tlike a magic trick. And you know
we talked about that. He becausehe remember he blamed it on the wake
(08:22):
or he said the camera guy thewake from the boat. But man,
I watched a video. It's slickingglass, but that might be. It
might just have been that little bitof weight. Awell, it's just a
little tiny weake because he did heum, you know, I mean he
tells us in the podcast, buthe hollered at the camera boat and asked
him to move to the other angle, other side of the boat to get
(08:45):
over and get a better angle withthe lighting. So I guess the guy
got behind his boat and sped upto get around quick, and that he
didn't see the weight so that whenit hit him. If I'm not mistaken,
that fish was kind of almost goingstraight down. It wasn't going at
a angle absolutely straight down. Yeah, and that's kind of that's a bad
angle right there. Oh yeah, average wise, yep, you know.
Um, it's like I see sawman with nothing on the other side.
(09:07):
It's just gonna flip up leaning upagainst the rail like that with my legs
against it and my feet slipped. And if it wouldn't have been from my
heels button up against the center console. Yeah, well, and I wasn't
even fighting the pish. Go checkthe podcast out Trilogy Outdoors podcast on all
the platforms including iHeart and check itout. But it was a great one.
(09:28):
And uh this week too, Igot invited by Joseph Dennis to go
striper fishing. And of course, how would you like to have been out
there a striper fishing this morning?I would have passed even with the pish
biting. I don't know, Imight not have passed, you know.
Now if I got that super suit, Yeah, you got the super suit.
I'll just tell you that, thechances of being back at the dock
before you even get cold with himare pretty good. Oh that's true.
(09:50):
Man. If you got minutes, you know, two fish limit twenty five
to twenty seven or twenty eat somecrazy big yeah, but you can't keep
one trophy if you do any yesterday, each person had a trophy. I
think they were thirty plus inches. They were real fast. I'll bet that
would be fun to catch man.Yeah, And if you want to get
(10:11):
down to sandt and do that,Joseph Dennis Captain Joseph is a great option,
great choice. And also look overthe next month or two, he'll
be moving to the crappie piles andthe man can catch him. Crappy.
Now, Tony, this is wherewe have to This is where you and
I have to decide. Are wegonna are we gonna be Are we gonna
(10:37):
show etiquette over the fact that wewere presented to some incredible crappy piles in
our journey down there, and notgo back down there once we get the
boat set up with livescope to gocrappy pishing. Are we gonna say,
Hey, we came and worked andwe just happened to be on the boat,
and we happen to remember where wewere, so we're gonna go back
(10:58):
and go because we were on someincredible crappy piles that people don't know about,
and you and I boat know wherethey are. Now, Hey,
there was nine boats fish every oneof those piles in that one day.
That they ain't no secret. Thereyou go, he say, where you
look, there's a boat sitting oneach pile and there's a camera boot taking
(11:20):
video of them. No, soyou just answered my question. So oh
we go it. Okay, wego it. I think it. I
think that that trip should include also. Um and just for any of those
that are wondering about the shad rumor, is it that tel race has started
catching not in the incredible numbers rightnow, but when the water is moving,
(11:43):
they're catching them. Um they theyJoseph once again, let me in
on that, um, And youknow, it's a simple fish. It's
a simple process. It's a simpletrip from here. Um, canny,
you still haven't and him No,No, I would definitely count me in
on that because we tried one timeand that was up last year fiasco when
(12:05):
yeah, when when me and youand and Brady wants, oh yeah,
but we we went that. Yeah, we went to go We went to
try crampy fish first and then wewere gonna go shad fisher, but the
shad weren't there or whatever, andwe lost the anchor. Yes, we
lost the anchor. Everything went wrongon that trip, every everything, everything
except all I know is I knowthree grown men that were bundled up.
(12:26):
One of y'all was in the middle. When all the three of y'all was
spooning and try to stay warm,I could not peel. I mean I
was It was like I felt likea banana man. I mean, I
couldn't peel Mike off of me.No, he was freezing hey, and
I couldn't peel him all. Bobbythe night before while we were sleeping,
I wait up and got his bigold leg laying over the top. Abby.
I'm like, I'm coming to thepoor Can he get out of the
way. It's hilarious, But Itell you it is the time. You
(12:50):
know, this is an exciting timeof the year, and I think you
know, I mean, we allknow what's coming. We all know what's
around the corner um. The warmerweather is coming. But we also know
the flounder are gonna start biting heresoon, and they are catching flounder already.
But if you want to deal witha snot grass is the issue.
Yeah, but we also know itwon't be long and the black drum are
(13:13):
gonna be thick on the near shorereap and then come the weak fish,
and then come the giant eight toten pound bluefish that show up here.
And then you've got the banita akaalso the uh other two? Know what's
the uh? What's alright? Wegot banita that show up. Then what's
the other one that tastes good?Um? Skipjacks? Isn't that it?
(13:33):
Yeah? The skipjack that it lookedlike a yeah, but have a King
Michael mouth with teeth in that inthat the skipjack? What is it?
Tastes really good? Good table wearer. I think those will show up soon.
I mean, all of that's gettingready to happen. And of course
already Tony's bass or getting ready tofeed up. If they're not already feeding,
um to get ready for that.So it's a great time of the
(13:58):
year. It's great, great, great. Have you any reports of the
sheep said at the new Short Breefs. I'm gonna say it. Yeah,
all the pish that were called onTuesday were not called at Jetty's. Yeah.
Are all the roofs producing? Arejust like certain ones? Um?
I would say there's three that areproducing, and I would say that probably
(14:22):
the deeper one is not on fireyet it'll be the next couple of weeks.
But the shallower two that are inin thirty five foot of water are
and they do have some big blackdrum. Oh that's always nice too.
And when I say big, Imean big. Jimmy Captain Jimmy Deevers of
Myrtles and the fishing Charters had alady on board that weighed almost eight pounder
(14:43):
or was it eight That's a verynice block drum for around here. Was
it eight eight point one or somethinglike that. I think, yeah,
big one. That's nice um.And then of course another rodeo team which
was Tyler Coble, Jason Justin Whittenand Lucas Williams went out on Tuesday and
they weighed a six point nine poundsheep's head and a seven point four black
(15:11):
droom somewhere around that. That's agood day anyway. I love it.
Tyler ended up winning, uh bothof them for the month. Huh yeah,
good for him. He ended upwinning both. So that always gives
people something to do. Man.You know, in the wintertime, you
got a fish in the winter, they're still fish there fish. Oh yeah,
I mean, and he always gotthe speck question is can you handle
(15:33):
it? Indeed, boy, Itell you what, man, we fished
in a lot of thirty degree days, haven't we. Right Clothes make the
difference, layers make the difference.I remember that this this again is gonna.
I'm just saying, you know,I'm I'm wearing a hook vest.
But this feel this, this isOh that is good. That is the
(15:54):
Bass Pro Shop Redhead brand. Hudthere. This is the thicker of all
the three layers. It's I mean, they're not cheap, but I'm telling
you they are nice. And then, you know, my daughter had to
explain to me what this was.I thought it was a hole in the
dang thing. It's yeah, that'sawesome. I didn't know. That's a
(16:15):
terrific idea. So I remember thatshow you did with Jay Base when you
guys are up at the Chesspeake Bay. Wait a minute, um, that
was you and Jay Bass doing stripersat the Chespeake Bay Bridge tunnel. Stevie
Pack. Stevie Pack, I thoughtwas Jay Bass. I don't know why
I had that on my mind.Back that's when you guys had the snot
sickles, dude, I had wehad every one, every one of us
(16:37):
had snot frozen down our cheeks. It was an eight mile ride down the
beach to get to where the fishwere, and every single one of us,
nobody wanted to mess with a rigbecause we were really um we were
we were trolling for stripers and wewere doing the umbrella rigs and so none
of us had really ever done itbefore. So we were having to set
these rigs up um you know whereand trying to do it with gloves on.
(17:02):
Forget about it. But again,I know you just mentioned it.
But the fact that within the firstthirty minutes Stevie Pack had called his biggest
striper ever and Andy Pack had calledhis biggest striper ever. Sper come up
in there, man, And youknow, no joke. You know,
the pressure on those fish changed theircomplete pattern. Over the next two years,
(17:23):
those fish never come inside of threemiles. Now they stay outside of
three miles. They learned. It'scrazy because when we were there, there
was probably three hundred boats up there, um easily, it looked like spots
season, and there was a mixtureof stripe bass being caught and blue fin
(17:44):
tuna being caught that right, yeah, and the blue fin when when the
boat would hook up with the bluepen in the middle of the crowd.
Obviously one person stayed on the radioor stood on the bout and hollered,
get out the way, get outof the way, and they just continue
to buy it. They chase herringsup. That's right, that's the huge
schools of hearing it swim up intothe Chesterpeake Bay and yep, all the
(18:04):
way up into all the tributary riversright, and those stripers will follow them,
bad boys until they can't swim intothe war gets two shallow to swim
anymore. So. Now, rememberwe were outside of the Chesapeake Bay as
close as we could get. Wehad to. We actually had a GPS
or we had the marks on ourGPS. You could not enter the Chesapeake
(18:26):
Bay. Was the bay bridge, the tunnel of the U point where no,
no, no, no, no, you could I could see it,
we could see it. No.The point was the southern point of
the entrance right into Chesapeake Bay.That was where that was the line that
you could You had to go towolf up Um And of course you didn't
want to go any further anyway becauseyou will get run over by US warships
(18:48):
right non stop in and out andum that was where I got my first
um view of a hair excuse me, I hell of a true hovercrap the
big ones because US Warship number one, which is the Wasp, unloaded all
hers and then she came in behindthem, so they all came running by
(19:11):
and incredible, it's unbelievable how theymoved. But then she came through and
everybody was like trying to get upand look at her and take pictures.
And the captain kept coming on onthe sixteen and telling everybody three hundred yards
or whatever, we will shoot youexactly. But that is an incredible fishery
(19:32):
that is going on a little furthersouth, we talked about Kevin snead Our
Good Buddies at Rigged and Ready TacklesCenter up in um Holding Beach. Kevin
has once again just had an incrediblebluepen season. We should have tried to
get him on the air today.I'm going to guess he's a true master
in he he is a true masterof it. Um. He's in more
Head, he's in moore Head andman, I don't even know the numbers
(19:55):
now, he didn't give me thenumbers, but we were I was invited
to bring some guests last day.Um, and of course he landed a
big one Callton landed, you knowand right now, Yeah, one day
I'll get him to tell us exactlyhow he does it. He does it
differently him Brent mcballing another really goodone. Uh. They they spend their
time catching live bait. They they'vebeen fishing with live bait, blue fish
(20:18):
and big Man Hayden I believe iswhat I'm told. But they do live
live fish for live bait for him, and um, you know, whatever
they're doing is working. Huh.Remember last year most a year ago that
he caught that one and called itwhile he was on the air with us
and had it landed before the showwas over. We were talking about that
earlier before we're going on air,and like whether we would want to do
(20:41):
that or not. I would doit LEAs I wouldn't want to. I'll
do it for a few minutes.Like you said, you're holding anybody else?
Yeah, yeah, I mean someof those fights are two, three,
four hours, and then think aboutthose three hour fights that end that
end with a hook coming out,Oh, laying in the Florida awful like
(21:02):
go on wicked tuna when that Rogersgoes boo, little magic trick. Yep,
now you see it, now youdon't. That's a heartbreaker right there.
Other house cleaning business here. Let'stalk about n WTF and they while
the tables are sold out, waita minute, they are still doing sponsorships.
The tables are sold out, butthey are still doing sponsorships. You
can find Chris Wilson's info on ourFacebook page and get in touch with the

the air with another radio station thatI'm on on Tuesdays, and Chris let
me know that they are now soldout. We're looking forward to it.
I can tell you the team atMarshall's is already ready to start moving all
(21:48):
of the boats out of the roombecause let me tell you, they are
loaded with boats. They have everymodel, every make, whatever you want,
they've got it in the showrooms. Now they got to do some You
can go get go down there andenjoy a warm boat show every day,

stuff they've got down there. Butum, you can still get tickets for
the uh uh Satori, the BrowningSatori. Um all rapple and they're big
cash rapple. So so you cangamble. You can gamble and not even
(22:32):
having to be there. No,we don't gamble though, it's it's a
we don't call it gambling due wenot on air. Can we say that?
Oh well, I'm sure who cares. The only thing we can't say
is SB We gotta say a biggame, Oh yeah, we cannot.
Yep, yes, we got wasthe Big Games coming game. Remember we
did a whole number of years ago. We did. Ah, that's the
one we were on. Yep,yeah with the other guys. Yep,
(22:53):
yeah, and uh yeah we didget censured, but we got like we
did. Actually then we we ofour sponsors that was having a big game
party, a game party, DadWoods it was Dad Believe it was,
yes, I believe that wasn't thatwhen spot we were doing, Man,
we blew it up. The biggame is this Sunday, That's right,

all right, Sunday, Next Sunday. It's next Sunday, Yeah, the
twelve tomorrow, the twelve, Yeah, yes to day after our next thing
that I want to talk about, and that as our pundrais are shucking for.
The Stevens had a great meeting thisweek over at Barking Dogs and things
are starting to come together. Hadsome incredible people offer up to help get
oysters this week. Um, andthat's going to be the key factor obviously.
(23:37):
That and the rapple tickets five thousanddollars going to somebody, five thousand
going to the Stevens family, anduh, that is all. Next Saturday

bit of both. Hey did wetalk? Are you coming to help me?
Oyster butt? Because you were sucha good you were a lot to
help. Jenny was helped too, until until yeah, I got fired,
(24:22):
and then and then after he gotthat, after he got that two thousand
dollars, he was done. Iwas happy. Man. Harris said Tuesday
that he would have done it again. He knew it again, well,
he'd I'll tell you what he hadno reservations about. I think he was
confused. What I think Honestly,he said I had a fifty fifty chance.
I think he all knew there wasthree. He knew there was three,
well, I mean we talked aboutthat, right, he knew there
(24:45):
were story Well, he didn't knowthat the one I was holding was your
than neither did I. So itwas fair. Me and Jenna looked at
each other. It was still fairbecause I didn't know. Yep, one
of us knew. He took thechance. Well, here's what we need.
We still do need some volunteers.I think we've got the cooking covered.
(25:07):
We are going to be roping offan area. What we're gonna try
and do is rope off the areafor the oyster people. We got several
tables we're gonna have set up andwe're just gonna NonStop, just keep building
the tables up with the oysters,so typical oysters last fashion. Yeah,

was out at Sparks Toyota this week, and of course we've had the tire
issues and got those resolved and gotthe old changed. And man, I
tell you what it's I get alot of work done in that waiting room
out there. It's nice WiFi,nice big old countertop. And the vending
machine is my friend back there. It takes credit cards, yep, it
(28:03):
takes credit cards, cash, whatever. But man, they got some whoever
picked out the food that goes inthat thing is awesome. I mean three
musketeers. And then they got monsterenergy drinks in the vending machine. But
anyway, Yep, I had appointment, went over there, and then of
course we had to order in atire to replace the troubled tire that I
had. I had a hole thatwas in the tread, so can't patch,
(28:29):
plug or fix that one. Sogot a new tire owner and the
new Tundra Rolling studio is back onthe road, and so am I going
to get back on the road thisweek, start getting some more interviews.
And I did get to hang outwith Ronald Stovey yesterday for about twenty five
minutes before I had to run backto the inlet quickly. But man,
Ronald has loaded up yesterday with shiners, and I'm telling you he had.
(28:56):
I mean, I'm not exaggerating shinersthat big nice yeah, and Antony,
you'll tell you. I mean aone pound bass. We'll eat that all
day long. A half pound basswhere you better know it. But he
was. They were loading up Acouple of gentlemen were heading to Florida to
go to Stick Marsh. Yep,going to Stick Marsh to do some live
(29:17):
or they're going bass fishing, butthey wanted to take live bait with them
in case that's all they wanted. But man, he's loaded up all the
rods you want to choose. BroRonald say, come get him, Come
get him. He's got to makeroom. Springs coming, he's got new
stuff coming. And let's see whatelse I needed to discuss? What else
did we need to bring up?Green stry and rodeo. Why don't we
(29:41):
talk about the results. Let's seehere, let's hear the success stories from
January. Here the success stories fromJanuary again, folks, Green stray and
fishing Rodeo coming to you, lastingnow through October. And let me get
to this page because it's pretty allright here we go. All right,
so last month species were black bentuna, black sea bass, white grunt,
(30:04):
black drum sheep said, speckled trout. And then of course freshwater was
catfish, brim and crappy. Andlet's go ahead and start in the freshwater
and t Bone. Wow. Noticeif you look on the results, you'll
see three asterisks beside his name.I'm putting asterisks beside each person's name that
multi multiply has qualified for the grandprize drawing, and that would be t
(30:29):
Bone, who has won not onlythe first month, not just the second
month, but now the third month, somebody needs to get out there and
give him from competition exactly a thirteenpoint seven eight pounds Scott Schwam, Scott
schwanm young Scott. Now let metell you last month Scott or this month.
Early in the month, Scott wasweighing brim and catfish and everything else,
(30:52):
and he did manage to pull outa win in the brim with a
point eight six pounder. And that'snot a small one by the way.
I've weighed this me and me andset way that um scot swamp and then
in crappy of course that two poundbeast at Caleb Hartley called Caleb is now
a two time qualifier. Caleb whowon brim at point two pounces last point
(31:17):
two pounds last month double qualifies now. And then moving over to Salt Water
Grand Strand Fishing Rodeo's black Pin TunaDivision for January fourteen point fourteen pounds by
Anthony Montagani. Black sea bass isour good friend, Brad him be at
(31:37):
three point sixteen at three point onesix that's a big that's a big black
sea bass. Um white grunt onceagain, Anthony Montagani two point sixty eight
black drum six point nine two TylerCoble, and then the sheep's head seven
point six one, nice one TylerCoble. Pretty much caught back to back.
(32:00):
And by the way, that sheep'shead was his very first sheep's head
he had ever caught. Is thatright? I told him By said,
buddy, just remember it goes backwardsfrom there, downhill from there, and
then a good buddy. Mister.Mister doesn't like to talk much. Nick
Walford with a beautiful six point ninesix pound speckled trout. I've got to
(32:22):
mention that. The day before, actually three hours before, Jason ran out
to weigh that fish for him sohe could release it, right, he
wanted to release it. The couplehours before at Base Boy's Beat and Tackle,
they had a six point four onepounds. Oh man, Now,
if I was him, i'd beupset. Yeah, yeah, that strong
(32:49):
with that close, You got thatright. A great tournament this month.
We are now at eighty six entries. Now we're in the debt of the
Winter Man. That's all swear eightysix injuries. It's gonna only get bigger.
It's gonna spike come April. I'lljust say this much. I'm gonna
divulge a little bit, and Itold you yesterday a little bit about it.
I had a big meeting yesterday morningwith Chase Adams from Sarah Jays.
(33:14):
Sarah Jay's this year will be thehost of the banquet and XBO, and
our plans for the banquet and XBOkind of go like this. Our visions
and what we're setting up are atabout two o'clock in the afternoon, we're
gonna have a huge enclosed tent andwe're gonna have vendors and we're gonna have
fishing industry representatives there with their productsfrom two until one or two whenever we
(33:38):
start. Until about four or alittle bit after, we're gonna just have
some beverages and walk around and talkto these rips and check out the products.
At four o'clock or so, we'regonna open up the buffet line inside
with food. People can start funnelingin, go eat, do their thing
for a couple hours, and thenat the beginning of the grand prizes,
(34:02):
we're gonna everybody gets done eating,we're all going inside and uh, we're
doing it. On November eleventh,Veterans Day, so we are going to
pay tribute to several different facets ofveterans. We're gonna obviously pay tribute to
all the veterans that are fishing inthe rodeo. We're going to have Senator
(34:23):
Stephen Goldfinch is gonna join us viahopefully be a skype from Africa where he
will be serving with Special Forces. We are going to hopefully have and I
need Eugena with help on this,we are hopefully going to have one of
the high school's color guards come andpresent the colors and present the flags for
(34:45):
it. And I'm gonna get Jennato help me with that. The colonel
that's right, I've got his name, and I just don't have a colonel
um. So we'd love to haveSaint James or any of the schools that
are available. I know it's abusy day for for a mon most of
them. And then we're going toNonStop throughout the entire bit. We're gonna
(35:06):
have several TVs and a big screenset up and it's gonna be playing all
the catch pictures from the year fromthe tournament, so we're gonna have all
the pictures rotating through and then we'lldo all the recognition for the awards and
everything at the end. That's gonnabe a great event, man, should
be a good time. Thanks toall our wonderful sponsors and partners, Fish
Zella Fishing, South Atlantic Bank, one more that I cannot name yet because
(35:32):
I'm just not quite sure which brandthey're gonna be using. But we've got
some incredible partners coming to help makethat happen. And Sarah Jay's especially Chase
for hopping on board. Menu fornow looks like shrimp and grits. We're
gonna do a Boston butt. He'sgonna do frid plunder fride shrimp and some
(35:52):
incredible sides and then banana pudding fordessert. Well, let's take it.
Crazy system. Marina Fish nine islit up. Go ahead, Good one,
Good morning guys, Good morning,Corey. How are you, buddy.
I'm just doing good. How aboutyou, man, We're doing great,
buddy, just doing a little radioshow here talking running our mouth and
uh sharing some fishing. We're goingI'm sorry and keeping it and keeping it,
(36:15):
keeping it going right. We're tryingto brother, this is all of
us. We're all right here, man, Mister Tony and mister mister Amy,
mister English, Yep, yep,Captain, I'm right here and Kenny's
right between us. And how youhow's your family doing? They're doing great.
(36:35):
I hope yours is good mine. Are you guys ready for NASCAR race
and super Bowl and stuff? Hey? So yeah we are. So when
is this NASCAR race? Now thatyou mentioned it? The clashes? February?
February the nineteenth one on a Sunday? All right? Have they have
they run in the stadium yet?Oh? That's yet? Is that the
(36:57):
moors at the night? Right?Don't ask me, man, I don't
know. I don't know. Well, we'll figure it out there, you
go. Maybe Corey knows. Corey, is it the night or tomorrow?
Tomorrow? We got it? Tomorrow, you got it? Brother? Well
listen, man, thank you forcalling. It's always great hearing from your
brother. You're welcome. You're you'rewelcome. All right, have a great
one alight by all right? Bye? Bye? Oh Corey check in with
(37:23):
us. You know, I was. I knew it kept popping up.
I kept seeing like uh uh,twenty twenty two clash was on like FS
one or one of them they wereshowing. But I knew it had to
be sometime soon. So the Daytonahas win next. I know you'll want
to ask me, man, well, it can't know, it can't be
(37:44):
not on Super Bowl Sunday. Youknow what I just realized, I mean
big games. We haven't heard fromhot Rod. That's the following week,
yep, So we have not heardfrom hot Rod. Yeah, it's been
a while. Man, all right, hope he's okay, shake with Adam
and see. Yeah. I betthe police arson ring here in a minute.
Well, you know, I kindof hope it does. You know.
(38:05):
Yeah, you know, supertend isalways quick with that disconnect button.
So I thought it was hot wheels, hot wheels, right wheels. Yeah,
I called him hot Rod because hecalls me captain Captain Kent. Hey,
hot Rod. Hey, you knowwhat speaking of which is lit up?
(38:27):
Hey? Go ahead call her? There are you this morning? Hey?
What's up? Don? What's happening? Brother? Hey? Man?
Where can I go get registered forthe road to you? All right?
So? Hey, uh you canright now? Currently, here's here's your
places in the Endlet okay, Parry'sParry's Bating Tackle, Beach Boys Bating tackle,
(38:52):
merles Inlent Fishing charters right there betweenWaho's and Drunken Jacks. You can
go to you can go to Crazyor anytime after between nine and three.
They've got to sign up there.Um, and that on the south end.
That's a uh, that's about itother than you go down to Polies
out. I can hit one ofthem to day and sign up. I'm
(39:15):
going to my favorite lake and Ithink I gotta whenever you put bass in
there, I think I'm gonna havethe bass to win this year. Well
you know what, I'll tell youwhat I'm doing, and we are going
to leave bass out. And I'lltell you why we are going to do
a bass tournament. Yeah, Iknow, listen, we least kill me
too. We left We left bassand red fish out. Um. There
(39:38):
was a lot of reasons. Firstand foremost is you know, you've got
those purests that the tournament bass fishermenthat don't want to see a promotion of
killing them. You've got the purestof redfish. And you and I both
know the bast numbers are fine, the red fish numbers are fine, but
to kill to keep from getting thenatives to But I got but that our
(40:02):
tournament last week, that that catchphoto or at least still. Yeah,
there's the future of bass fishing.I'm here to tell you that's awesome.
Week was off the chain. Therewere seventeen bass over ten pounds caught last
weekend. What that is awesome?Don Hey, So back to the help
us out real quick. So howabout the registration with the kayak? Did
that you finally get that all figuredout? I am straight what My only
(40:27):
weird question is this. I hadto register to kayak because I put the
motor on it, permanently fixed, right. Well, I didn't have a
problem with it. I went togo registrate. They don't want to know
nothing about the motor. They didn'twant to see the serial numbers, the
bill is the laden villa sale, nothing about the motors. They just wanted
my kayak, my whole information offthe kayak and that was it. Wow.
(40:50):
So it kind of that's kind ofweird. I'm out here to register
because I put the motor on it, but yet you don't want to know
nothing about the motor. Usually youget a registration yeah yeah, and you
put the electric motor on, right, I mean you've got the trolling motor.
I got a fifty five pounds forus frolling motor on the back of
my kayak permanently. There that isthat little bat little sucker pushes me along
in almost eleven mile and hours. That is awesome, hey, just out
(41:15):
of curiosity. What kind of rangedo you get out of it? Now?
I did something I probably shouldn't havedone. I stayed with the lead
acid battery instead of the new hypfanglething because I don't have an infinite control.
I just got the five selectors onmy first three five right. So
I went up to a group thirtyinstead of a group twenty seven. And
I honestly can run for eight hours. Wow, I even go I have
(41:39):
put in at Stanley drive Lands andwent all the way down the front creek
there, passed the marsh walk downto hot Fish, out to the jetties
back in the Garden City, trolledall of that over there on Pompino and
everything else for flounder, and stillhave half battery when I got back.
That's awesome, it is. Itmakes a whole lot of you for an
(42:00):
old gius, your paddling against current, I couldn't do it, no doubt.
Man. Well listen, man, hey, listen, I get in
touch with me. You have anytrouble getting signed up. But Crystal and
the team over at Perry's and Jayand Kelly at Beach Boys are all set
up you. All you need todo is walk in. They'll get you
signed up and go fishing. Okay, brother, true, and I when
(42:23):
I see you, I want toshow you this fish founder that I finally
went with. Yep, you're gonnalaugh, but it is the bump.
Hey, they make a difference. You can. You don't have to mounce
your transducer. It's on a fortyfoot piece of cable with a floating piece
of plastic. You just throw thesome of a bitch in the water and
Nashville. That screen you look atno bigger than your telephone. That is
(42:45):
awesome. That is awesome. Yep. Well, and you don't have to
plug it into nothing. It rechargeseach night. Well, give me a
hollow when you come to the inletand I'll come meet your brother and check
it out. All right, allright, y'all have a good morning.
All right, take your brother, thank you. I'm got he got his
kayaks straightened down. Well, hedude, he bought that thing. I
mean, Dawn's been a friend fora long time, and Dawn was a
(43:07):
hardcore fisherman, moved away, cameback and wanted to get back into fishing
here and found a kayak, likedit. And then he's like me,
dude, like I don't want toget out of there in a paddle,
but so much Yeah, and youknow, opted for mounting a troll of
motor on it. And then thatwas when you know, he got his
eyes opened about having to have thekayak register and everything. You know,
(43:28):
if I was gonna do a kayak, I would have to have I mean,
I'd have to do like him.Man. I mean I'm not I'm
not in a position where I'm gonnapaddle for okay, so there's a deal.
Well, I mean, so whynot rig up one? I mean,
you want to get the most outof the kayak, you want to
use it for what it's for.If you rigged up one, and trust
me, I'm in the same boatas you, why don't you rig up
(43:50):
a troller motor that you actually cancan bring up, lay it in the
back and have your paddle, whichI'm sure when you get those shallow areas
that you just paddle through and paddleinto those shallow areas where you're trying to
get anyway right in the boat.I think that it's probably what Don does
as well, but yeah, probablyholds it up for somehow, brings it
in the boat so he can.Well, the guys with the U with
the um foot pedals, they haveto do the same thing to get in
(44:14):
that real shallow water. Yeah, they have to you know, basically bring
in the retract the fins. Uhhuh. And they got a pleasure of
retract. The last time I wentwith with um Mikeiti was uh we I
was in one of those with theuh with the dolphin paddles underneath the boat
man and uh yeah, you hadto you would you would drag those and
(44:34):
you had to do that thing whereyou could bring them up and where they
like go up inside the recessor orsomething and then you paddle. Yeah,
an you paddle. Yeah, butit's easy. It's all right there in
front of you. Just slide themup. Yeah, that's really easy.
It's kind of a mechanism boom, same way. Like it's kind of like
put it in reverse. Yep,well, same kind of thing because you
can reverse it. You can putthat thing in reverse too, you know,
back up. Well, Tony couldtell you with the range that he's
(44:55):
got with that kayak, he couldput it at Waka Watchie for a bass
tournament and and fish very effectively.I tell you he's got I have,
I have, like really thought aboutAt one point in time, I was
really thinking about doing the kayak thingbecause Merles and it's the place I go
most of the time, right,Yeah, No, And I like going
to Georgetown a lot too. Butyou Anglas hit a whole lot of coughs
(45:15):
kayaks down whin ye Bay. Idon't think you know, No, depends
on where you can leave from here. Yeah, that's right, But I
mean Merle's in it is a perfectplace for kayaking. And with the amount
of boats in Merles in it thesedays, kayaks the way to go.
Well, you're either like the littleone man creek boats. Oh yeah,
control the motor on the back andjust finish, fish the skinny and stay
(45:37):
away from the crowd. Man.I mean that's what it's going to be
all about, really, merles inIt, yep. And I don't you
know what what how about a littleriver? I don't know how that would
work? Oh my god. Yeah, you got a haul to get into
the that's that's I mean, man, you are putting your life in your
own hands. Would go with theone man boat up there instead of the
kayaking just because of the boat trafficand the way sides on that little Cayman
(46:00):
boat would be is there. Idon't know if there's any places up in
the Little River, because you knowthere's a lot of little estuaries in the
Little River too. They come outonto the waterway there, you know,
But I don't know if you canget to them. I don't a boat
launched somewhere, I know. Ithink you have to leave from Cherry right
right there under the bridge. Yeah, and that would be safe for them
going through the other part at least, like if you went all the way
(46:20):
to them. What is that Oceanisland sunset? Yes, that one where
you went, Yes, uh huh. That was awesome, dude. That's
the longest boat right ever, everybit of fifty yards yep. Basically got
all day long. Yeah, I'vegot a show done right there. Yeah,
we'll even put the guys that werefishing near us on on the on
the show. Well kayaks and andand though Tony's mentioned and the one man
(46:45):
camus Um Herby Street Sporting Goes inFlorence has those, and they also have
another line. I'm trying to rememberit. What's the name of the other
one they have there, um thewhole garment, but they are one man
and two men boats. And Marshall'shas got I stood on top of one
um this week when I was downthere with Scotty. There's a couple in
(47:05):
Georgetown they got those kayaks really, you know, riggable. I mean,
if I ever did get into kayakfishing, I would definitely do the motor
like I said, you know, that way I can cruise along and not
have to wear myself out just tryingto get to a fishing spot. But
they also got the pine poles forhim. That's right, yep, that
are electric, man. I meanyou know, I'm sure they probably got
ones that are manually just pushed down. Yeah. And then yeah, then
they got the electric one. Shesaid, Yeah, Mike had that electric
(47:27):
when when we went with him.Yeah that's awesome. Yeah, yeah,
pull up him. But it worksgreat, Like if we're on the charter
with him, he puts it downand then ties you off to him.
Yeah, so it works. Itworks apparely that one, Fred Rourk uses.
Captain Fred uses, Oh yeah, that rod that he spears the ground
with it. Yeah, that wasmy job the other day. I was
(47:49):
in charge of the anchor. Yeah, that's a great anchor. It's great
until he puts you in like thepluff mud or the real Shelly Bottom,
where you've got to grind and grindand grind to get that thing. And
of course while you're sitting there tryingto get it in, he's hollered at
you. Oh yeah, hold ushere, don't let us move, go
out. I'm sitting there and pushing, pushing, trying to get it through
those shells. You got skunked outthat day, right, we did,
(48:12):
bummer, we did. But you'reboss man Greg. Greg harolds himself.
He's headed to uh, he's headedfishing with Captain Fred de Mar. I'll
tell you Pol's on outdoors down inPolly's Island and can help you get out
and enjoy the South Strand. ButI have heard that the U and of
course Fred, you know, hadbeen waiting for the moment home the right
time. And I have heard thatthe red fish schools have gotten back together.
(48:35):
That coal front and this cold frontare only gonna help it get back.
I think it was Wednesday or third. Yeah, that Greg told me
that he got the call. Hegot the call, you know, the
Fred said it was time because Greg'sgonna target with fly Rod exactly. He's
a five guy, and so he'sgonna he's gonna down there and target him
school and if you know, ifthey're schooled up, Fred will find Fred
will find him. Fred will puthim on him. There's no question about
That's what Fred does. And uhyeah, And I was telling Greg,
(48:59):
I said, that's the perfect timebecause I knew were gonna get this cold
front Friday night and it was gonnabe cold today. I said, it
was supposed to be warmer tomorrow nowand it's not sowing. It's not gonna
be as warm and nice as what'ssupposed to be earlier in the week tomorrow.
But now, how's the wind.I think it's gonna be a little
windier than the expected But I don'tknow. We'll see. I mean,
I hope they go, you know, give a shot. Fred says,
you know, don't decide from thecouch. Nope, decide on the water.
(49:20):
Well, I tell you one thing, we got to decide and then
we do have to decide that weneed to go to break. So that
has been decided to take us abreak. We'll come back on the other
side and we'll talk some more fishingstories and open up that crazy system of

Toyota where the dealer is always in, and by Key West Boats and Morris's
Marina of Lake City and Georgetown whereeveryday's a boat show every day, and
(56:52):
by the Freedom Boat Club where yourboat is waiting. And I just want
to not wait any longer and saythis. You know, I know that
we sent a lot of people toLake City to Marshall's Marine, don't we
We send a lot of people there. You know a lot of people love
going there. Indeed, I mean, and we talk about every day's a
boat show. Every day's a boatshow. Um that that store in Lake
(57:13):
City is incredible. If you getin there and start walking around and you
can't find a boat that uh thatthat tempts your taste buds, then you
probably really aren't looking for a boat. I like how they have the freshwater
section right now, salt water sectionyep, yep, showroom. I think
they call that one show room, one stradia. And once you get into
uh, you know, here's adeal. I'm having to rewrite some ads
(57:36):
and everything, so in my mindlike on that and I talked about it.
How you know when you go toMarshall's Marine either one, like they've
set up that nice comfortable area atthe Georgetown store with the lounges and everything
else, TV play and to sitdown. You know, if you and
the wiper down there thinking about somethingand you know, you look at the
boat and then you you know, you're sitting down. This for a lot
(57:58):
of people, including my up whenI bought my G three, it's the
biggest purchase you're gonna make of yourlife other than your home exactly. So
you know, you want to sitdown, you want to be comfortable.
Uh and and you know, justtalk about it and between the lounge they've
got in Lake City, which RussRuss was in love with because they got
the big aquarium right there, umwith fish in it, and the Loungstown
(58:20):
in Georgetown it is perfect. Butman, I mean both of them are
set up with you know, youcan get a cold drink. I mean
Georgetown, they they'll cook you.Yeah, well they got to kitchen in
You're got a kitchen right there.I always you know, if we're gonna
go to a Marshall's to look atthe boat, make sure you go sometime
around eleven thirty, get there beforelunch because you probably gonna end up getting
fed. The guys are all aboutthe food mare and they do. They
(58:43):
eat good. They don't play anyand they say they could. You could
be a stranger to them. Youwalk in that door, your family,
you are a family. And youknow they've been doing it for a long
time now fifty six years seven,Um a long time. And uh what
did I say? Thousands of savedmillions. Indeed, that's the and that's
the truth. Marshall Scott purchasing powerthat other dealers don't have. Nope,
(59:06):
the next couple of months are thekey buying time for boats for the year.
They are Everybody wants to be involved. They want to plan that summer
plan having time on the water withthe kids and vacation every weekends. What
I call it. Yamaha has anincredible six I think it's six months six
years. Uh you know by fiveor you get five plus one. Um.
(59:28):
Anyway, great warrantage out there rightnow if you're gonna buy, So,
now's the time. If you're lookingor thinking about upgrading or getting a
new boat, stop ed and I'lltell you. The other thing is that,
Um, if you need to getrid of a boat, it's the
time to do it. This isthe time when people are looking, who
is it I've done? Oh,okay, it's the time to It's the
(59:50):
time to get to looking. Heregoes if there goes the leg breaker,
he said, you ain't gonna breakmy leg. H You know that sounds
super gender? Got her name?Remember when she put that lady in the
armbar, the lady that was lookingfor the where's the where's the show?
(01:00:14):
Yeah? I remember she was looking. That was hilarious, wasn't it,
Tony? You it was you?She goes, Remember that was the that
was when the Blue Angels were herethe air show. That's where the planes?
She goes, where's the air show? You said? Look? Up.
Oh my god, remember that.Yeah, that's right, because we
are located in a pretty central, easy to find location. Yeah, it's
not hard to find. He's aginormous our heart media. Uh. And
(01:00:37):
the doors are this place is lockedup like a vault. It is most
of the time. But most ofthe time, Lady Man, we didn't
know. Man, she's been oneof the wacky fans. You know,
somebody remember that that was crazy. There were some wacky fans out there that
you know. Yeah, we didn'tknow. Yeah, and we got our
back to the door. We gother back to the door. Uh huh.
We could be all over before weeven knew it. All right,
(01:01:00):
So let's open up that crazy systemmarine a fish line. Oh no,
we gotta wait, Supergenda doing herduties. Don't open it up just yet.
But let's uh, she's on patrol. Let's let's let's definitely talk about
we talked about merls in let let'stalk about let's talk about bass fishing and
Tony, let's talk about what weneed to get out there and find a
bass right now in the river, yes, wintertime bass fish. She'll looking
(01:01:22):
outside the dishes looking for debate fishor fish feeding up or they to move
in, or they already moving in. You're already moving in your place where
you've got to experience that once ina lifetime. Yep. Deal, it's
that's it there and come on timehoop. Yet I've been looking. It's
(01:01:42):
uh, well you you're not farfrom it. It's fixing to pop up
anytime right now. Yeah, butuh yeah, they're they're starting to pull
in there and they're they're pre staging, right, so they're moving a little
bit every day is the day's gettinglonger, the water warm it up a
little bit, a little bit,a little bit, they're moving a little
bit further. But yeah, uhgo about a third a quarterway a third
(01:02:09):
back to the spawning pockets and startright there and go get some of them
shiners from you because you'll get onthem and all of a sudden you won't
get anything. You turn out andgo backwards because you went past where they're
at. Now. I mean,I know this is the time of the
year where you know what color Igot on, and you know I'm gonna
have at least one of the threerods on my deck because I don't ever
(01:02:30):
try to bring more than that normally. But I'm gonna have a square bill
on, Yes, sir, I'mgonna have a square bill on, and
I'm gonna I'm gonna be looking forany kind of treetop anything right now.
I'm looking for any kind of structureright now is a stopping point and they're
gonna use it just to move upinto those shallows. But square bill or
(01:02:53):
a Bandit two hundred series, anythingthat goes five to eight foot deep crank
bait right you're you're in the money. Do you look for warmer water?
Yes, because any temperature change, right even if it's only a couple degree
warmers, well, obviously you're lookingfor warmer and a temperature change, you're
gonna find warmer. But any temperaturechange, correct, Yep. I literally,
(01:03:15):
like I said, I would goa third way up to your spawning
pockets in the main channel and startfishing. And don't be afraid to fish
in the middle. As you've seenthat day, they're they're not against the
bank. There are in staging mode, and any little piece of structure they
will lock down on it and repeated. I cannot say it enough, repeated,
(01:03:37):
repeated, repeated, cast to thesame place, because if you find
one you're gonna find more. Don'tgive up too soon. Then every every
slack water did you come to fishit and fish it hard. Now this
time of the year, too,is one where the rice fields can be
really really good. When on acooler day and you've got that mud up
(01:03:58):
in that rice field is warm up, and the water coming out of it
on the falling tide it's warmer. You can get on the outside of it
and find some incredible numbers. Yourtrunk dykes this time of the year are
incredible because the water temperature in thoserace fields is a lot warmer than it
is in and most of them areopen. Now is the duck seasons over.
Duck seasons out, they're gonna bedraining to the race fields, and
(01:04:24):
the sun's baking on those all daylong. It's just a little shallow water
and it warms up and it sometimesit can be eight ten twelve degrees warmer
water coming out of those trunk dikesthen in the river itself. So so
is it a trunk dyke or atrunk dock trunk dyke. Uh stop feepy
yards below them. Fish it realgood. Don't be afraid to fish out
(01:04:45):
in the middle where the water.I was gonna say, where the waters
blowing out. That's a great stagingspot for them, and fish it right
on up and to the trunk itselfbecause they're just trying to move in there
to get in those fields. Twospawn. So I'm gonna wie a lot
of secrets here, man, I'mcutting fifty years old a lot of those
times. That's what that's what you'reboy. Yeah, I'm cutting the curve
(01:05:11):
off here. Man. Hopefully wedo that for everybody and all types sufficient.
YEA, look in, Get youa willow blade, spinnerbeat, something
you can slow roll. Get youa rattle trap, and get your crank
bait and go. You're covered, coffed the box all you need, that's
it, and go get some ofthem shiners from salty, a chatter bait,
thunder, cricket, whatever you wantto throw, that's automatic. If
you didn't, I got I've gotright now in the way willow blades,
(01:05:32):
because that's what I've got, right, I've got willow blade, and then
I've got a combo willow Colorado.Yep, right, I've got um two,
but I do. This is thecolors I've got in stock fire,
Tiger I've got white, and I'vegot white and sharp trews, and I've
got that natural I think we callit like the shag color Um. I've
got some of those in stock,So reach out if you want to try
(01:05:53):
some of those. Tony'll tell youthey're great. You can't go wrong with
the shart, fruis and white inany of the water scenarios we have from
river to pd to walk them allthe sad samp It, samp It,
you cannot go wrong. This isthe time of the year. You and
I pished Sampey pitch a tournament.Yeah, Tony fish with it was that
it wasn't cold. It wasn't coldthat day, not day we got lucky
(01:06:14):
that the day we went all theway back into that wave. Man,
that was a neat area we found. Man, Yeah, that looks so
fishy. We didn't catch any fishing. Samp It is a beautiful river.
And here again, it's amazing downthere here again. You know, you
get windy days still this time ofthe year, and of course we're coming
into March coming up soon, andthen well you know how the wind is
there that is a place where youcan get out and you can hide and
you can fish on the windiest ofdays and find a spot. That river
(01:06:40):
runs east to west, so justtime of the year, you predominantly you're
gonna have a north wind, soit's blow one across you. Did we
catch any fish that day? Ohyeah, yeah, yeah, and you
even caught one. Oh that's right, I caught one. I remember you
do it. And we thought youwere on the mud and you were,
and you started pulling this kind ofYeah, he was right there. Yep.
(01:07:02):
He wasn't a big one though,no one, that's where he was
supposed to be here. Yeah,he was sitting there, just waiting to
be as I started pulling it.And you pulled that spinder bad off of
the air, you know, spinningbad because I knew you, I did.
I threw spinder bead all day thatday. I know English. He's
not crazy enough to let you geton the boat and throw anything with treble
(01:07:24):
hooks. What yeah, what doyou do you question my accuracy? Hey,
I trust you more than Mike Brady. Oh yeah, I'm really careful
about that man. You know,I was the one was in danger.
Probably I can't hear him. Yeah, yeah, I just never heard that
(01:07:45):
buzzbeat bleed, Come on my time. You know what what happened on that
G three is that I you know, the foot pedal on that troller motor
was pushed was set back a littlebit, so I was already back further
on the valve and I probably shouldhave been. But then when you throw
in, if I went from thesix ten or something to one of my
seven four rods, then you gotthat extra distance. Yeah, you you
(01:08:06):
you could be interesting. I'm verycareful about that because I actually did name
somebody one time with the one ofmy backswing. And I was just a
little kid, and we've been onbod he was fishing in a canoe.
Yeah, flag, I was actuallyfishing. We actually was like a camping
trip of his parents. I wason with him and they took me because
we were like, I was like, they're got our kid anyhow, but
(01:08:27):
we're gonna could do. And Ia back swing. I hooked my friend's
ear and ripped it. Yeah,it out ripped it. I mean it
like, yeah, it hooked him, but ripped it. And so he
had like you know, his earwas like he had like two ear lobes,
right, and uh, well hismom yelled at me. Man oh
boy, and got me uh severalyears back, right in the center.
And it grew back, believe itor not, with a five eight ounce
(01:08:48):
frog with the double five old hooksin it uh, right in the middle
of the back. And when ithit I just went straight to my knees
on the battle boot. It wasa smack, trust me, dude.
I was fishing with a with oneof them a bottom what do they called
the top artlers? A big fatones that don't catch fish? Um,
(01:09:10):
oh, that don't catch me?What do they call? I din't forget
the name up man, because Iquit you used him. I went to
to the other ones that are better. But I got that thing hung up
like on a oyster shell, righton the edge where I was fishing,
and man, I was pulling on. Man, it came loose and it
might as well have been fired outof a cannon. Came right back and
hit You hit me in the stomach, man, and it put a welt
(01:09:33):
on my stomach. Man, ithit me so hard yep, oh,
and it's stung, dude. Iwas like, I felt like I just
got gut punched by Mike Tyson.Man bent over Russ hit me in the
back of the head. One day, russ I was letting him fish out
the back of the boat by himself, and he kept getting hung up because
he would love, he loved tojust sit in his rod right beside the
boat and just let it sit there. And he kept getting hung up,
(01:09:55):
and he got hung up, andhe was trying to pull it and pull
it, and that thing came looseand it hit me square in the back
of the head. Oh, andI turned around. I was ready to
fight. I was like, butpraise the Lord. The hook was planted
in the worm steel. But man, it's this is a great time of
the year to get out enjoy theriver system here bass fishing. And of
course you may not catch your biggestfish, but I think this is a
(01:10:18):
numbers time of the year, isn'tit. No, you this is the
time of the year to catch yourbiggest fish from now to April is I
don't know why. I always thinkmaybe more more late February March, for
you know, that full moon tocome, and that's when when they go.
Right now, they're they're feeding uphard, hard, hard. Heard
(01:10:39):
they are really feeding hard because they'retrying to pack on weight for the winter
and for the spawn, because oncethe spawn comes, they're not gonna eat
now, they're gonna be busy withother things. It's uh yeah, February
remember those days, my favorite timeof the year, January, February,
March. Well, when you getfattened up and there's no jet ears and
(01:11:01):
inter tubers and wake boarders and allout on the water. Yeah, that's
always a question for me. Man, that's a question for everybody. But
with that being said, be carefulwhen you're out there because you're gonna be
out there and you might not seeanother boat all day long. So if
you fall out of the boat,it ain't like no help's gonna come by.
Something. That's true. Real carefulwhere that life jacket just cold water?
(01:11:25):
You know, you should use itin the river anyway, when you're
running it. Really, you shoulduse it no matter where. Everybody you
know thinks you're a good swimmer man. I don't use one, an't use
one, but I think I'm starting. I'm like get one of the ones,
like you got them, the automaticinflatable. It's that way. It's
not you know, you know,And let me just tell you the one.
The one key to that is adecent a decent inflatable runs anywhere between
(01:11:50):
one fifty and two hundred and that'sthe automatic deep alto in play everything else.
Take care of it. Don't letit get wet. Yeah, if
it gets wet, you're gonna haveto spend about forty to fifty dollars for
the rechard system to put it backtogether. And trust me, it doesn't
take much water, which makes youunderstand how safe it is that if you
(01:12:13):
hit the water, it's gonna inflate. But if you leave that thing sitting
in an area, they can getmoisture and get wet. That little capsule
all it is is a little crazylittle pellet that sits in there and it
holds the spring and if the watergets to it, that capsule dissipates,
goes away, and the spring hitsinto it activates it. They make them
(01:12:34):
now that's pressurized, so they canget wet. If you're gonna spend the
money to get one, don't cheat, don't cheap out, because like you
said, I got one and ahalf and now I'm like, Brady,
give me the deployed in his rodbox. Oh yeah, just because it
got wet from the ring and yougotta watch out if you gotta pour a
five year old because he will tryto pull that handle for the heck of
(01:12:55):
that. Well, you know. And then there's also the you know,
like the ones that the bass guyswear that are like, don't they don't
seem to cover some either, youknow, that's what I have. Just
straps, aren't you bad? They'renot bad, They're not heavy. They're
comfortable. Actually, they're comfortable. You forget you even have them on one.
Yeah, that's worth wearing them.Man. You know, you know
(01:13:15):
here here here allows issues. Yourlife depends on it altely. Don't cheap
out. If you've got to spendtwo hundred dollars, spend two hundred dollars,
but get get a good one.Just pressurize. It has to go
six inches of foot underwater before itdeploys. Yeah, Mustang probably the best
out there. Uh, but youcan go to bass pro shops. Go
up there, go look through. They've got a plethora, I mean all
(01:13:40):
prices, fringes, um and everything. Remember their big Spring classics coming up.
Mikey's gonna be up there doing acouple of seminars. Oh I gotta
I got a gift card too.Yeah, my favorite thing. I got
a truck load of gift cards andif you are a monthly winner form the
Grand Strand Rodeo from many months prior, hit me up my numbers out there
(01:14:01):
on the website. You can callme and let's arrange meeting. I've got
all the shirts and hats. Willget you your shirt, get your hat,
get you your gift card to basspros. You can hit up there
and go spend it and get boombrother. So I've got all that thank
you here that thank you Chris Bakerh and the team at bass Prop forre
getting so involved and they are superexcited. There's gonna be more stuff coming
(01:14:23):
from bass Pro shops. Uh asthe rodeo goes on this year. But
were export for for a life vestlike that, man, life jackets like
that to wear? Hey, yourlife's worth two dollars. Tell you,
man, it's not just you know. I'm saying it because you know I'm
getting up there. I don't knowhow right, I don't know how much
of a marathon by yourself like Ido, man, And uh, you
(01:14:44):
know it's like that time, umthat bikini bottom call on fire and leave
by an hour route there, youknow, we're out of the ocean.
We're maybe a mile offshore a littlebit more. I can't remember. Did
y'all build a boat, build outthe boat? Yeah, because of because
I had no bills pumped. Theentire everything was gone, no radio,
nothing. But um, I'm lookingover there at the beach and I'm like,
(01:15:08):
man, you know, wonder yeah, And I was only I don't
know, I was only like fortytwo or forty three, then maybe forty
four, and uh, it's like, man, and I was looking at
the cool We're gonna at forty eight, gonna do the Jaws thing, you
know, cool and start kicking, you know. But I'm timing. I'm
looking at that. Man, I'mlike, that's a long way off.
(01:15:29):
Man. You know, there's amoment of panic on, not one single
moment. Once we put the fireout, it was all good, man,
that's good. Yeah, if Captain, I'll saved the day. Remember
that you came down to the dockthat day. Poor captain now beat the
boat. You remember that story. He fell off his boat. That was
terrible, man. But you know, Captain, I was like the only
other guy out there that day,and he fortunately I was getting my call
(01:15:50):
down to one I was gonna calledGeorgiatown rescue man because we were taking on
you know, it was rough, ocean was getting rough. We had no
bills pumping and waters lapping in alittle bit of time and everybody what comes
into every kenny bottom was getting themore water we'd get me in, you
know, and I'm like, Idon't know, you know. So I
was getting ready, and what myphone ran was Captain Awl asked me if
I found any fish, and Isaid, now, man, you know,
told him we're deading water. Blahblah blah. He was out somewhere
(01:16:12):
else. Yeah, yeah, andhere here he comes man, his big
old um Grady White somebody had herehe comes rolling, you know in the
horizon. Here he comes man anduh he comes over and then throw him
a rope and he leans out tograb the rope and falls off his boat.
I forgot about him falling in thewater. He didn't, old man,
it was the time of year.He pulled you into a channel marker,
(01:16:32):
right or something. The other guy, because Captain Owl he had a
charter. He had a guy andprobably his grandkid. That's try he treated
out an old fellow and a Grandkidumand they had a heck of a time
getting Captain Owl back in his boatbecause you know, it's got the high
gunnals, you know. But theyfinally managed to hoist Captain Now back into
the boat. Captain Now is freezing, of course, so the charter guy
(01:16:54):
drops the boat, his charter, his customer drops the boat. And yeah,
he pulled us into a channel marker, which I didn't know it.
But the channel markers are like soft, Yeah, there are. Oh I
didn't know that. I was like, oh, man, here goes the
boat and I'm like, I'm likeyelling, you know, go laugh,
go laugh. Man. He drugus right over top of that, and
then we hit it. It wasjust like, yeah, like we can
(01:17:14):
to brand it. It doesn't soundlike that. No, it didn't.
I thought it was going to do. I thought, oh my god,
that thing's made up steel. It'sgonna crack my har or something, you
know. But no, it waslike padded man. It was just soft
and sweet. Hey, all right, so it's it's time to go to
break and we come back on theother side of the break. Hey,
Keith, I hope you've been listeningto the show. We're gonna have our
Judy Boons, Uh Family Kitchen Questionof the day and give somebody a twenty

(01:20:06):
just quick question, was that youthat called a minute ago when we said
call back? No, sir,Oh, all right, what's up?
But it well, just freezing thedeath up here and trying to make a
dollar, you know. And doyou get my picture of all those jellyfish
jelly fish? Ye, hundreds upand down the beach here just lying the
(01:20:27):
beach. I saw that somewhere else, A picture of that somewhere else.
No, I don't know that diddo that. It's not the first time
that's happened. We've seen that before. Yeah, we've waited, But but
what has the wind been blowing outto the northeast for a couple of days?
Yes, sir, yes, sir, been wind. Okay, yeah,
no, I'll find that. I'llsend that. Where's my phone?
I don't even have my phone rightthere? It is? Oh god,
(01:20:49):
it's over here in Yeah, there'sa snake at bite me. I saw
that picture somewhere Tony. That's notlike the first time. That's don't think
that's totally uncommon. You coming touh you? You coming to join us
next weekend. You're gonna be ableto come back. That's the reason I'm
calling. I have two questions foryou, ye, come on. I
(01:21:12):
wanted to see if I could help. Okay, I'll put you to work.
The answer is yes. And wantedto see if you could cover two
tickets until I got there. Igot you covered. You want two tickets?
We got you covered, buddy,I got we got. I think
we're we got somewhere over just overfifty give or take left. No,
(01:21:33):
we don't. We better run acredit two thirty two. I know where
to find you. Hey, ifI have to do it, might be
we might have a good a toughrace. If I have to run you
down in my truck because we gotthe same truck. Though. Oh that's
true, that's true. But yeah, I'm gonna try to knock ken me
out this year this time. IfI can't, well, you know,
(01:21:55):
if history has anything to say aboutit, then you will, you will,
Yeah, Kenny, Uh, Kenny, probably. I mean that that
couldn't have worked out any better fora partner. And we're talking about the
reverse rapple next weekend um for theStevens family. And again Rebecca, who
suffered incredibly two massive strokes on Novemberfourth and uh just this week had uh
(01:22:23):
a surgery to replace her crany atomy. Crany atomy is I'm just called crany
ottomy. Huh yeah, cranny ottomy. And isn't that when you relieve the
pressure from the bank, they takethey take a chunk, allows to allow
it to yeah, to allow itto expand you have it back. And
we're hoping that she's gonna join usnext week for a little while or for
(01:22:44):
the whole time, depending on howshe feels. She's still struggling with some
speech and other things like that, but I think it'd be great and uh,
yes, when it comes Tony,I will I will put you to
work doing something you can uh,you can be my assistant for the rapple
and uh or let you work securityat the oyster tables or something. But
(01:23:05):
yes, helps desk oster security.Anybody that wants to volunteer. We're gonna
meet at eleven o'clock. He couldbe a shucker for hire. You could
be a shucker. Yeah, maybesomebody will pay you for this, Okay,
I know I would. Man.Yeah, we have Bob. We
do have like seventy something um oysterknips. So we're good. Oh,
very good. Yeah that sounds good. It be about keen before I got
(01:23:27):
Donner kept me because I got towork at least an hour. We're meeting
at eleven, so very good.Yeah, we're meeting at eleven and we'll
we'll as soon as we get donewith the radio show. We'll be hauling
our butts to get down there, and so plenty of time. Brother,
that's fine. We'll just text methe name of the place again so I
can kind I'll send you the directions. Thank you so much, Tony,
(01:23:48):
and I'll get you so much. All right, have a great name,
okay, all right, all right, he's never he's never gonna lose that
name? Is he listening? First? What how in the world we didn't
search that? We did not searchthat. No, that is downright scary,
(01:24:11):
man, that's freaking scary. Sofor anybody just listening, we obviously
talked about inflatable life jackets, whateveryou want to call it, PFDs,
and Tony's phone now has just firstsentiment advertisement for an advertisement for an inflatable
PFD that is creepy. Hey andall that. Meanwhile, we've got some
(01:24:36):
big balloon floating across the country.Yeah, pretty much over top of us
by about now. I'd say,oh, is it really, I'd say,
like somewhere between, like what wasit? No? No, no,
no, it's not coming here tilltuesday, right, Oh I thought
it was today? No, sure, yeah, no it's not till tuesday.
I thought it was today, No, Saturday between. If you look
(01:24:56):
at the military basis, it's goingto be flying straight over it's capabilities too
down because it's true. That's whatI saw too. Yeah, who has
disabled it? We have or theydid so, but I'm not. I
was just jamming, U there's jam, yeah, signal jam And that's I
(01:25:18):
mean, they're good, We're goodat that stuff. Man, a wax
planes, you know them. Yeah, but what could it? Could it
not happen? I mean, herewe go, lesa, could it not
be carrying something that could be detrimentalto whatever? Huh? Well, they
know it's like surveillance gear. It'snot got any weapons on it or anything.
But they're scared. I don't wantthem to shoot it down, not
(01:25:40):
yet. I think they should captureit. Yea, they should. You
know, they should get ahold ofthat thing somehouse some way and find out
what that gear actually is and whatit was used for, whether it was
listening, whether it was the conor whether it's h you know, just
taking pictures. Right, I'd likeknow what it's anything? No one other
one's on the way. I'm justsaying this. And it's over the Pacific
Ocean. It needs to be shotdown if we put what happened once?
(01:26:02):
Yeah, high right capabilities to getit. I read that too, And
that's what the Joint chiefs of Staffwere saying. Man, that the most
advanced fighter plane that we have isthe F twenty two Raptor, and it
has a ceiling of fifty thousand feetand that things that sixty thousand feet and
the missiles that that F twenty twoRaptor carries are programmed, you know,
(01:26:26):
designed to go after planes and othermissiles. They look for signatures of a
planet. So it wouldn't even theycould even get it to It would never
him lock in on a balloon. That's exactly what I read too. Yeah,
it would never even they could fireMISSI left or missile. It would
never even. Right now, there'sa bunch of guys sitting in a little
room just dine, laughing at theUS for not having any I mean,
I don't think they purposely did that, man, I think they lost control
(01:26:48):
of it. Oh. Absolutely, they would never do anything I got on
purpose. Man, that's just toohuge. It's way too huge. I
think they were That thing was supposedto have some sort of controls or self
deflate or something to before I gotover territorial waters, you know. I
mean, you can fly anything youwant over the ocean, but you know,
I think of what it's supposed todo that I think they did lose
control of it. Well, Iwant to share with you something this week
(01:27:10):
that my good friends uh Sybbatical Charters. Anybody follows them, They're great charter
guys out of over They are goodMan out of ocean isl But look at
what they came out came up on. This is and this is when I
say this is new technology. Thisis so new technology. They just uh,
the US Navy just launched these thingsa year ago. They launched him
(01:27:32):
in branf of Bean. First lookat this. This is the new sail
drone. He got right up toit. He saw it. He thought
it was a sailboat upside down withthe killing their Yeah, that's what it
looks like. This is it canIt can run self sustainably for over a
(01:27:53):
year with no stops on land. It's got complete surveillance on it, weather
and everything. And that hard metalpiece up top is a sale that actually
worked, right Is that what's fouras like weather? That's what it's poor.
Oh no, it's for surveillance.So you it's a it's called I
don't see you like satellite dishes oranything. No, it's got it's all
look on top of it. Yousee all the stuff up on top,
(01:28:15):
and then it's got some other stuffon the front of it. And then
if you google these and look itup. US Navy sail dromes hum,
there's a bunch of information about it. So this apparently is like one of
the first one that's all the Atlanticand it came right by. That's cool.
So just sailing along, nobody onit, just sailing along top speed
of three miles an hour. Yeah. I guess though, because you know,
it's not like a you know, one of them sailboats was you know,
(01:28:39):
thirty you know sales. It's justone one sale, one sale,
but really cool moses around and Iwould have been like him. I would
have thought it was possibly a sailboatwith the kiel that looks like l oh
absolutely, especially from a distance, until you got up till you say,
that's not what that is. Yeah, wow, that's crazy, man.
We don't have any idea what's outthere? Man? No, I mean
you look at it. You lookat it, man. The GPS was
(01:28:59):
a was around for years, decadesbefore they opened it up to the public.
The Internet was around for decades, man, decades of decades. It
was. The Internet was designed forDepartment of Defense use only, and then
finally they opened that up and letthe public have access to that. Anything
that we get to see as thepublic that as military is already obsolete by
(01:29:23):
the time as the public. There'ssome super high tech stuff out there,
man, there are, but Ithink some of the coolest things how they
can take some of these jets, jet jet fighters and planes and bombers and
everything that are, you know, several years old, and upgrade the electronics
and everything on it, and theyare the newest and baddest, And it's
(01:29:46):
just amazing to me. You knowthat they can take like a jet from
the nineties and have it equipped withthe highest in technologies, the smartest,
most up to date things, andmake you know that jet is the bomb.
I see they're looking at it,bringing the A ten Ward hogs back.
Man. Oh God, don't tellmy father in law that. But
(01:30:06):
they're not gonna be tank killers likethey used to be. They're gonna do
like just what you were saying. They're gonna reform at them, and they're
gonna have another operational purpose and Iforget what it was now. Really,
yeah, they're gonna do something elsewith them. But that they found out
that they could be really good forit would save a whole bunch of moneycause
they would have got this uge fleetof A tens that are on mothballs right
now. Yea. And so they'regonna repose them. They're not gonna be
(01:30:26):
tank killers anymore. It's I forgetwhat they're gonna be supported back cannon.
The bullets are the size of ared bull can and it shoots how many
of minutes? Four? Maybe?Something crazy? Yeah, something crazy?
Yeah. I love watching old videos. You can go find old old videos
of a Tens during desert storm.Oh man, can they light them havoc
(01:30:47):
up on? They were crazy, dude. They're one of the most useful,
deadliest planes we were ever built. When I was in the navy,
man, my ship carried Apache helicopters. Uh no, napatties, I'm sorry.
It was before they passed there withcobras. Cobras. Yeah, And
they had that gatling gun up infront of that thing, right, and
the pilot had had a censer onhis eye. Yeah. It shot wherever
(01:31:11):
he was looking, exactly. Andthey would test that before they would take
off, you know, golf ontheir missions or whatever, and he would
wherever you look, that gun would. It was a neat man. You're
like, don't look at me.We're like, wow, that's cool,
man, that's pretty nifty. Thatis pretty nifty. Well, I'll tell
you what it's time for us twofigure out how we're gonna give this Judy
Boone's gift, tipic it away. So, um, what we're gonna do
(01:31:31):
is this, let's just do.Caller number five, what is English's middle
name? That is funny man,we'll say, We'll say Judy bon twenty
five four three two nine three onezero seven nine eight four three two nine
three one zero seven nine. Iknow here. Fifth caller, Oh,
(01:31:56):
give me something, fifth caller,it's ringing all already. Caller number two,
we got two number two. You'reout of here. Sorry, try
again. Here we go, callingnumber three. What do we say?
Five number three? Just a bitoutside? We're on now? Oh man,
(01:32:20):
we got mister click on now onelook here we go. Hey,
alright, hello, Hello, isanybody there? Yeah? It's Jack and
John. What's up jicking? John? Jack and John? How are you?
Brother? All right? I ain'tlistened to you guys for a while.
I've been kind of sick, butthought I guess I picked a good
(01:32:41):
day to listen. Yeah you did. And guess what you are? Caller
number five. So now you gotto come down and go eat at Judy
Boon's my friend. Oh yeah, that sounds good. Well, tell me
what's been going on. You sayyou've been sick. I'm sorry to hear
that. I hope you're feeling better. But how's everything up on the North
End? Pretty good? Doug? You know I live it's a patchy camp
from but I ain't been out onthe pier in a couple of months,
(01:33:02):
so I'm not sure what's going on. This time's kind of just a time
of year is kind of slow. But I was just wondering if they started
fixing the end of the period. You know, I was wondering the same
thing. I need to reach outto Calvin and talk to him about that
and some other stuff as well. But I do know that there were several
piers, this is what I wastold this week, several piers that are
(01:33:23):
in needs of repair. That theissue they're having right now is waiting on
the big the piling. The bigpiling, not the boards for the pier,
but the pilings themselves. So don'tI don't know if that's effected Apache,
but we will. I'll get ontop of that and find out for
next week. I'll get in touchwith Calvin this week, but man,
(01:33:45):
you'll be in our thoughts and prayers. And John, I'm gonna pull up
my phone real quick because I knowI had your phone, I had your
number, and I'll call you andtell you exactly how we can get you
that gift certificate. I'll either grabit and bring it, meet you with
it, or we can leave itat at the hostess desk yep, or
we can leave it at Yeah it'sh h U L I K. Correct.
Yeah, that's it, I gotyou, brother. All right,
(01:34:09):
good, Well, I'll tell youall on one quick question on the rodeo.
Yes, sir, uh so youcould just enter any time and it's
good for the rest of the year, Yes, sir, and it is
twenty dollars for the year. That'sright, you can you can enter anytime
you want to. And John,I have I really tried to keep you
(01:34:29):
guys in mind all the pier fishermen, and what I've tried to do is
at least get two or three speciesevery month that I know are are commonly
caught on the piers. So really, pretty much after April, I think
you'll see that there's three species atleast in the salt water that are species
that you guys can obtain from thepiers because we we we are really relying
(01:34:53):
on our interest and our participation fromall the piers. Okay, yeah,
alreadywhere towards us as the north endas furs both signing up and weighing in.
Yes, fish On Outfitters up onSea Mountain Highway right now, how
you can say it, it isfish On outfitterer. Ok. He has
(01:35:14):
got to sign up sign up sheet. He's got all the information up there.
You can sign up right there alonghaul from Apache. Yeah, so
maybe I'm gonna get I'll tell youwhat I'll get with Calvin this week.
I know. See here's the issue. They're not open for fishing apparently right
now because they're closed. So Ididn't really uh you know, prioritize getting
there to them. But I willsee if I can get with Calvin and
get them set up this week aswell. And I'll reach out to you
(01:35:38):
with the gift certificate and I'll letyou know that information when you come down
to you to judy me. Youcan go to Stallvies, I mean fish
Boys, right, Perrys, Parry's, any of those and get signed up
too, Okay. Gift card orgifts ARTISTICA got a time living at it.
Uh, one year, I believeto the day, because that's it.
Yeah, one year today, oneyear and uh, I've got him
(01:36:00):
in the truck, but I thinkI think it's one year from like maybe
two weeks ago. But yeah, you you're good. You'll we'll get you
in there and make sure you usethem. Okay, I appreciate it.
All right, John, we'll listen, man, thank you so much for
calling. It's great to hear fromyou. Sure is. In a while.
You're in our prayers. I hopeyou get the feeling better and are
on the mend. Okay, okay, appreciate it. Thanks all right,
buddy, thank you, Jig andJohn. I'm again a fishhead from way
(01:36:25):
back. He is an he isan o F and from way back.
Man. He we we've got tohang out with him at remote. We've
time. We got another caller.Oh, we got four minutes. I'm
glad. I'm glad John won that. You know, hope he comes down
down this, I mean a past. She's not that far from here.
No, it's not na that saysI'm thinking about man, you know,
going to him, he'd probably justas well come here this time of the
(01:36:45):
year, that trip. And I'lltell you as somebody who has to make
this trip from the south end ofthe North end, the south end of
the North end of lot these days. Uh, this trip, this time
of that trip, this time ofthe year, as long as it's not
at like four thirty in afternoon oreight thirty in the morning, is not
that bad as much more enjoyable itis. Huh, thank you to Highway
thirty one. Thirty one is oneof the best things that we've ever done
around here. Ye. And ifyou want to see some fast cars,
(01:37:09):
go right on thirty one. Oh, man, I was. I was
going up. I'm like you, seventy six, seventy seven, and I
got passed by this, uh Nissan. I believe it was some type of
Nissan. And uh, I'm cruising, man, I'm doing like seventy five
and I think that's pretty cool.And this thing blue. But I don't
even seem coming. You know,I'm a frequent mirror checker, right,
(01:37:32):
and I did not even see himcoming behind me, man, And he
blew by me so fast and itrocked my truck right, you know,
the air streaming of air he waspushing rock in my truck. He was
moving so fast and he was goingI mean he was like, I bet,
I mean he had to be goingone hundred and fifty miles an hour.
That might be right, he hadto be. I mean, he
just he was. I was leavingmy house when I lived right down here
(01:37:55):
and I was Eliot Lex when mywife and I lived in a condo here,
and it was one morning, reallyearly, and there was no other
cars on the road, and Iwas headed south. I think I was
on my way to go fishing. It was like four o'clock in the morning.
And as soon as I turned andhad his south on seventeen, this
motorcycle blows by me and he hadto be doing two hundred miles an hour,
man it I mean I didn't seehim coming. When I looked left
and need to see way up theroad, I didn't see him. And
(01:38:17):
I turned and I was heading southand all said, whoam, he was
gone And he was out of sighton the other just an instant, and
I'm like, wow, that wasamazing. Don't tell me he was no,
no, no, And uh,I mean it rocked. It rocked
my truck. Then I had asmaller truck, but I mean, it
was like, wow, that motorcycle. We didn't walk rock my truck.
I'm like, wow, that isamazing. And all of a sudden here
(01:38:39):
comes the state trooper right behind him. Not right now, I just wanted
to be right behind him. Butthat motorcycle was ah no, you know
that that that uh yeah, thattrooper's car was no match for that motorcycle,
even though I triper was trying becausehe probably blew by me out one
hundred and sixty, but he couldn'tkeep with that up with that motorcycle.
So I stepped on the gas andI'm like, I want to see this,
(01:39:01):
you know. And by the timeI got like over the overpass on
five forty four, they were bothgone. Now I don't think I looked
into path. I never saw anything, all right, real quick, I
want to go over the species forFebruary. We put while who back in
for our offshore fisherman. We keptblack sea bass on. It's just that
time of the year. It opensit up for everybody. Absolutely. We
(01:39:21):
put vermilion snapper in again, blackdrums stayed in, sheep's head stayed in
again, to other you know, popular species for the month of a certainly
February, and we threw one inthat I've had some mixed emotions about mixed
emotions flounder, and I put flounderback in for a reason. I actually
I have talked to several people thathave caught quite a few flounder over the
(01:39:44):
last couple of weeks. Yep.And if you're willing to fight the snotgrass,
they're there. It's gonna take alot of work to find a keeper.
Do you remember a couple of yearsago when my friend uh from North
Carolina came down when fishing, JasonJason, y'all killed him, And it
was in February. Man, andwe caught soho and big ones. Man,
I mean they were like and believeit, we were even catching flounder
at all, right, but tocatch that minium at that side, so
yes, But let me be thatflounder being on there. The guys that
(01:40:08):
are going for black sea bass outin sixty seventy foot of water, they're
also catching flounder. As you know, those guys need to pay attention to
so and flounders are good because veryfew people throw them back anyhow, That's
right, they're dead the minute. If they're keeper of the company. You
can get that right, and thenfreshwater as always, crappy brim and catfish,
but not as always because coming upwe're gonna be adding in the old
(01:40:29):
bullpen. I love it. We'regonna take the brim or the crappie or
the catfish out and throw in thebullpen. So good old mudfish. We're
gonna earn that, earn that,t do an We're gonna do a mudfish
sweep of the rivers. I don'tthink I've ever caught one of those a
couple of months. We're gonna doit a couple of months, so I
don't believe, so I can changethat. Yeah all right, yeah,
(01:40:49):
so real quick, uh go toTrilogy Go to Trilogy Outdoors Media dot com.
