Speaker 1 (00:05):
Hippo.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
What is up everybody? We are back with another episode
of Triple Ko and obviously this week is a special
one because we have to talk about EVO and we
have Long Island Joe as the special guest today and
his pink background. It is awesome. Obviously we have Muscles
and Maximilian who were also at Evil. We're all at EVO,

(00:29):
and you know, just I was evil for everybody.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
I don't know, if you evil keeps getting smaller and
smaller every year.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
This year, i'd say a pathetic I was.

Speaker 5 (00:43):
I was kind of bored. There was like no arena.
It was like an empty arena.

Speaker 6 (00:47):
What happened?

Speaker 3 (00:47):
There was what five arcade games in the arcade area.
There's like.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
They had four different versions of tech and one. I
don't know what they were thinking.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Oh man, that's crazy, but likely we're completely kidding. Venue
was amazing, Las Vegas Convention Center a super big I
don't know, there was so many arcades. I didn't really
get a chance to go around too much of EVO.
I feel like Max, you were stuck in your in
your skybox tower, right.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
I was in Geese tower tower.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
The thing I did which I was super glad It
was actually my favorite part of the event because I
streamed so much. So on Saturday night, after everything was done,
after Third Strike Finals, everything cleared out, we were getting
stuff ready for the next day, me and Jessica because
we were you know, obviously like auld run of show,
so we can just get in there. We went down

(01:41):
and walked into the hall and like everybody was gone
because people are just going to bed. It's like eleven
thirty at night, and we heard that there was an
anime night, so they were running Street Fighter two, the
animated movie, on the opposite side.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
So I'm like, oh, this is so six. They were
just running that.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
It was the English version with all the best music
and voices, and yeah, you know, like you know, oh
far you on your old level?

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Come on.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
I heard the audio went out on that though, and okay.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Yeah at the beginning it was a little funky, but.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
That's what they should do from now on, get rid
of the audio or turn it down really low and
just have commentators commentate over it.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
And they did have that, like I think tacy Ce
Pipes and a few others.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Joe, you weren't there, were you?

Speaker 6 (02:21):
I was?

Speaker 5 (02:21):
I was there for the announcement of it.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
Gotcha.

Speaker 5 (02:24):
Then I got on stage to help them do it,
and then the yipes was like I stay in here.
I was like, nah, I gotta go. I got it,
goup in money.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
He was like, then get the hell outy kick your
ass out.

Speaker 6 (02:35):
The whole stadium bowed me and told me to leave.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Oh that's fun.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
So yeah, they were running that on all the projectors
in the screens, but I didn't. I walked in and
watch the final five minutes of it, you know. Okay,
So but in between that, me and Jessic verwrid is
walking around the entire floor like nobody's there, can't talk
twenty devs. There were just random people getting stuff ready
for Sunday, and I actually got to check everything out.
I got to like walk up to Terry and take

(02:59):
a picture Terold. I got to go to the capcom
booth and get some big shots of like Cyclops in Reu.
I got to walk the arcade and play the crazy
Japanese ping pong game and you know all play played
some dudes at Marvel two like it was.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
It was nice man, And I got to play DDR
with JJ.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
It was like, oh, I got to enjoy this place
for like an hour, I thought I was gonna I
was getting mad fomo looking from that skybox down and everything.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
I was like, I'm never going to to enjoy any
of this, you know.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
So you you didn't. You didn't You didn't get to
the artists ally like because everything was closed.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
So everything was closed. I got to I got to
walk up and down and check stuff out. But in
terms of like buying stuff and supporting some artists, unfortunately,
and you know, never had a chance.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Did you see the one booth that had these massive
tapestries of like elden.

Speaker 7 (03:44):
Rings, elder ring, Oh my yes, I wanted one. I
wanted I wanted Mesmer real bad. But I was like,
I have logistically no place to put that. But those
were a godlike.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
For those that maybe not seen on social media. It
was like like Caravaggio Michelangelo illustrated levels of the Renaissance
in Chapel shit, it was amazing, Like I didn't see
the prices on those, but I mean if I if
I could have gotten that, I would have.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
Kenny was walking around then next year, these are things
that I'm going to change because obviously we want to
do a similar thing next year without getting sick, and
this time I want to have Kenny have like a
super good gimbal with mega upload, running around the floor
and talking to people and doing stuff at his own leisure.
But I can restream him with like super good high

(04:34):
quality ah, so you know, as he's going around, I
can pitch his stream and promote him.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
And he did the same thing.

Speaker 4 (04:40):
He saw that booth and I was like, what the hell,
And we got like the artist's name and everybody to
crash his poor website.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
You know when that was happening. So yeah, it was
really sick.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
But Joe did were you able to do stuff? Because
you were kind of like one of the main hosts
of the show, Like were you Were you able to
do stuff in general?

Speaker 6 (04:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (04:56):
You know, actually think, thank goodness, I did. I actually
bought a bunch of are from the artist. I bought
a jacket, I got a hoodie. I did walk past
that booth and I was like stunned. I remember stopping
and just being like like I was in church, it's
just so yeah and beautiful. I shook the artist's hand.
I'm like, dude, I just want to shake your hand.
This is incredible. But I did get a chance to

(05:18):
walk around. I did play a game of DDR with John.
Me and John played the game of DDR together. I
got to spend some.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Time with which one did you play?

Speaker 5 (05:25):
I had a session with City of the Wolves, which
was cool, so I managed to I was begging the
guys at EVO, can I please please get like my
schedule run of show early so I can then be
cause everyone was like, hey, do you have time?

Speaker 6 (05:38):
I was like, I don't let me. My main obligation is.

Speaker 5 (05:40):
Obviously making sure that I do Evil, Like that's the
first anything else I'll see if I can sprinkle in.
So I begged Evil for, you know, like my work
schedule so I can then hit up everybody else and
be like, yeah, I have this block.

Speaker 6 (05:52):
I'm free, this block, I'm free, this block, I'm free.

Speaker 5 (05:54):
So I did manage to squeeze a couple of things
and I had a really good time as probably one
of my favorite w I've ever been to.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Yeah, that that is awesome because you were just kind
of all over the place that you even did like
the family feud one and dude that that clip of
you just coming out from the table is hilarious. I
don't know if you guys saw it, Yeah, like literally, yeah,
he has the kiopos and the smile and everything. That
one was really good. But yeah, what was your favorite
game that you guys have all played like throughout, like

(06:24):
you know, off the collection See the Wolves then Impact
to Kale out of the four, what was kind of
like your favorite?

Speaker 3 (06:32):
Hm uh, you know, I think I've talked about this.
With the City of the Wolves, it was easily.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
That game is fucking fun.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
Like it was the same build that we played at
some of it the same build, to be fair, but
I mean it was still, you know, really awesome. I
was just like in the little like booth just just
by myself, and then I was like, I'm just gonna
set up the second player so I can just like
basically have training mode because I already played like other
people and the CPU at Summer Games Fest. But like, yeah,

(07:04):
it's still so good. I'm not sure if this did
change or I'm just forgetting, but we were talking about
a little bit that power that Buster Wolf is now
just like like it's perfection. Before it was kind of like, yeah,
maybe it's not as much impact, but I don't know
if that was any different, but it felt it still
felt really good. I did not play to x Ko

(07:25):
to be fair, I just I just didn't have time.
I didn't have an appointment either there. But everything else
I did play and enjoyed to a certain level. I mean,
it's hard to say about Marvel versus Capcom Collection because
you know already they're they're they're games of a known quantity.
But it was still like the exact same like front
end as Capcom Fighting Collection, which I was playing like

(07:47):
on the on the plane over, I was just going
through dark Soccers and playing them. It's like the exact
same but it's still such a good, jazzy, fun front
end that works really well with Marvel. And I enjoyed
Hunter Cross Hunter. I actually did.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
I have no idea.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
I have no idea who these characters are. I really
don't kid and Green that he's the kid, the kid
and Green that's.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
All he's gone kidding Green, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah's that's all I know. But that
was still that was still really fun. I was kind
of expecting it to be like sort of like I
don't really know what's going on, but no, still really solid.
So I enjoyed everything I played. I didn't play Takeda
built in MK one because I'm like, he's coming out, like,
you know, a week so, but yeah, City of the

(08:35):
Wolves still for me, all.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
Right, what about you? Max?

Speaker 4 (08:39):
I think the highlight for me obviously, City of the
Wolves was sort of like a reconfirmation two x ko uh.
Definitely was surprising. I played with the new Pulse views
and that it just makes it much easier just to
jump in and do stuff where it's obviously they did
do the exact same thing and Auto Combo should do,
or it's like like, oh, it's basic, Like it's a

(09:02):
very basic Auto Kablo similar to Street Fighter six. But
it lets you use your resources, so that's great. You know,
you actually see a super game being used if you
do something, so that was nice. Like with like a
fifteen minute demo, it's perfect for that. But I'm like, oh,
I can't wait to get home and actually have a
training mode and figure out some like legit wall bounce
full extension mix up after OK type of stuff, which

(09:23):
is what the game is all about. I think the
highlight though, was the fact that Marvel two didn't have
a ton of input delay. Yeah, that was big, and
the Capcom Fighting collection that came before this.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
The Dark Soccers collection has a bit of input delay.

Speaker 4 (09:36):
You have to play the PC version in order to
not have that input delay. The old PS three three
sixty versions have a notorious amount of input delay associated
with them. It's way less on emulation, so we arguably
might have the lowest input delay version of Marvel two
next to the Dreamcast. And I don't feel like it's
as good as the Dreamcast still, but it felt very

(10:01):
good and so much so that I was like kind
of surprised. I went back and I checked that X
Men versus Street Fighter and stuff like that. I think
some of the bitching we had with the previous Capcom
Fighting collection of like input delay in this is kind
of it's kind of brutal on PS four to PS five.
It's kind of bad. It was not the worst, but
it's it's kind of bad. It's not as bad as

(10:21):
Street Fighter thirtieth Anniversary collection. It seems like they took
that to heart and it's fixed now.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
And Joe, what about you?

Speaker 5 (10:31):
I will probably say the one I had the most
fun with is actually two XKO Nice. I think that's
because it's the first time I got legit hands on
it so I was able to get a private play test.
But then as I was leaving the play test, someone
else was like, hey, I need a fourth, and I
was like whoo, So I actually, yeah, after playing for

(10:54):
an hour, I got to get like, I sneak another
hour in there as someone else's fourth, So I got
to really play it for a good consecutive amount of
time and actually, you know, feel it a little bit,
understand it. I'm not very good at team games, but
playing the duo mode, it's just like it's something I've
never done before. In the fighting game, I was talking
to one of my friends and I'm like, yo, we

(11:14):
can have like legit football plays like dude, run the
sling gym, run the slim gym, and that means like
you do this block string into this assist, but your
partner the I mean, your opponent won't know that, but
your partner will know what the slim gym means.

Speaker 6 (11:28):
Yeah, Like there's this really.

Speaker 5 (11:29):
Cool dynamic that I think tos Ko is doing that
I don't think we've got I mean, I remember Cross
Tech and tried to do something like that, but I
don't know if it was like as in depth and
flushed out as two x KO teams, but I will
say probably tost Ko was my favorite, and besides that
was certainly City of Wolves.

Speaker 6 (11:45):
And I think the only.

Speaker 5 (11:46):
Reason why I had two is Ko above City of
Wolves because I only got like thirty minutes with City Wolves,
maybe like forty five, and I was like try and carr,
I didn't really get to feel the game. But you know,
after spending more time with two SKO, you know, getting
to really the potatoes of the game really helped me
appreciate a little bit more. But I would certainly say
again took scale and then City Wolves right under it.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Yeah, for me, like I think City the Wolves and
mars cotcom Orcat Collection are equal in terms of playing
because like when I played City to Wolves, I played
with like the main like the bet their best players
and case best player, so like he was cooking me
in the beginning, and then I was able to like
learn and then give him a really competitive set afterwards,
so I understood kind of like, oh, this is actually

(12:27):
how the game is supposed to be played at this point,
so that was awesome. And then the Mars cap Collection,
you know, obviously on the stage with Yipes you were
commentating it having the Capcom private play tests, playing with
Yipes and jim Craft, and even with playing with at
the Max and Yo video games, like playing just like
low tier mid tier Marvel like stuff like that was
like really really fun to me.

Speaker 4 (12:47):
So like, just imagine to do that with like people
online in the near future, you know.

Speaker 2 (12:51):
And yeah, I'm really hoping. I'm really hoping rollback works.
I actually was rewatching me versus Yipes today and I know,
notice there are some issues when I when I rewatch
the footage, a lot of sound issues really, like so
Magneto's hitting my manual, hitting my Centol the infinite right,

(13:12):
it's like boom boom the ram infinite and all you
hear Seno was saying deploy, deploy, And I'm like, why
is he Why is he saying deploy because that's the
assist that sentel pointing the finger and usually he's sending
the Cento drones, but it's saying deploy, deploy. So it
seems like there's like a lot of random visual issues,
like sound issues. But they did fix a lot of glitches,

(13:34):
like like obviously the Gamba gitch, Ruby Hard glitch is
all gone, but even some of the really good glitches
like Juggernaut glitch is gone and I was like yeah,
and I was like, wow, really like that. That's a
fun glitch, you know what I mean, Like it's one
of those glitches that I would want it want to
be in the game, but they took that out. And yeah,
I'm like kind of curious on like what changes when
people do the deep dive.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
Eventually, I'm gonna I'm gonna make an assumption because I
watched your video justin and it looks like Juggernaut tagout
glitch is gone, Like it doesn't have give you the
damage buff. I'm going to say that I hope that changes,
and I hope it does ficks because it allows a
relatively bad character to be like actually kind of okay.
It's it's the equivalent of like, oh, we're just going

(14:16):
to remove not broadstroke, but like we're just going to
remove role canceling from CVS too.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
It's like not as a big change that changes.

Speaker 4 (14:22):
Like that makes bad characters much better, it makes good
characters really good.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
But I think things like that might be an oversight.

Speaker 4 (14:29):
Where as much as I know about the old port
of Marvel, two things that got fixed in that game
were not intentionally fixed, just so the process of like
bringing the game over and porting it from emulation or
bringing old code things just didn't work anymore. So, you know,
like I said before, some stuff like the Gambit glitch
and things like that just got mystically fixed. So that
could be the case here where it's like, oh, yeah,

(14:51):
by the process of doing this, you know, Juggernaut that
was a glitch. You know, the fact that it stayed
there the whole time it was a bug, and seemingly
now it's acting like it normally should. But I think
there should be some concerns and I'll echo this as
well that I think that's one that should stay. I
think I think Juggernaut glitch specifically is something that severely

(15:13):
stifles that character. Is his team, his usability And is
this like a dominating strategy bro No, Like it's goofy
and fun and cool, but it's not something that ruins
the game at all. Yeah, I agree with that one,
and I think it just happened. I think it's by
the process of them just making the shit. It's just like, hey,
it's just not working anymore.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
They might have been like, you know, let's add these
training mode of hip Box display viewers and that might
have fixed a lot of bugs.

Speaker 3 (15:35):
No, yeah, did you guys see that that other small
issue that someone raised up on Twitter on the.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Game it's the box viewer.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
Yeah, the herd box viewer is like slightly inaccurate, and
it was Waffles ns over on Twitter. Is just like,
I really hope they do fix this, Like it's not
the biggest thing in the world, but it's like this
could lead to misinformation on what has a herd box
and what doesn't. And I me and others looped Andy
at calcom in that threat just just to just to see.

(16:06):
But I'd imagine that's something that you know would be
we fixed before.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
So obviously like sound bugs and things like that, that's
things that we hope getting fixed. Do you do you
hope that there's something in the game that sort of
changed justin that you hope comes back.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
Is Juggernaut glitch the big one?

Speaker 3 (16:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (16:24):
I would say maybe that one might be the biggest
one that I can recall at the moment, because they
have other glitches, like they got first Tack glitch that's
still in there, still in there, right, But I think
my biggest thing is, ah, just give me a different
version of Express treet Fighter at least let me choose
the fact that the fact that it's on version three
compared to version one. You know, it's kind of weird,

(16:44):
Like I think that's not what a lot of people
are used to from the old school, or at least
like played recently on Fight Kate for example.

Speaker 4 (16:50):
It's it's a weird version too, because I played it
as well. I got footage and showto corner infinets still works.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
Yeah, they still work.

Speaker 4 (16:57):
I'm like, wait a minute, So Psyke's obviously is HP
does not do wall bounce anymore. I'm like, okay, so
his his infinites are mostly nerve, but other characters just
still have them.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
Ken's was identical. I was like, what what are we doing?

Speaker 2 (17:09):
What? Pretty much the top tier characters got their Like
Storm infinites is gone as well too, so it's only
like those really cheap Spike infinites are gone. But like
if you if you do like standing heavy Kip with
manual hypergraph loop, that's still there because it's kind of
like considered a different combo versus like a Cyclops and
Storm combo. Yeah, this is kind of weird, though.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
I guess it's just the nerves to the super top tiers.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
Then it is it is, but I guess we'll see
because if you think about version three still considered during
that time frame anyway, it's not like it's a brand
new version. I don't know. But besides that, what is
your favorite? What are you? What are your favorites? Turner results,
best termine to watch?

Speaker 3 (17:52):
So third third strike, third strike.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
On third strike third So goddamn hard, dude, is it?

Speaker 3 (18:03):
We've all we've all been watching Hayau for years, but
like this being the year of the Hugh Goat is
like I'm watching it on my on my TV screen
and I didn't go into the arena for this in
the TV screen in my hotel room and my wife's watching,
and the showmanship is enough to get people that are

(18:25):
not super into fighting games to get super into fighting games.
Like all like she's like, I'll watch any tournament this
guy's in.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:31):
When she saw the when she saw the splits, like
that's what we need every so often, you need so
you know that.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
Was like walking off the stage, I saw the cirk
to Sole media team go up to him and they're like, so,
how much you cost?

Speaker 1 (18:44):
And we're gonna get sir Yu.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, And and of course Justin's call of
that is a worthless button. It is, but like it's
so legendary. That's worthless button. And I think it was
either you or or Vicious just called hey, like this
is a magical man.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
This is a magical man.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
That was it was too entertaining.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
What button did he do to jump over ship with
gin Rye? Was it?

Speaker 4 (19:12):
Stan h K standing Yeah, dude, it's like the most
like the drops he's got and for some reason he
did it like.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
He knew, bro, my man was magical. He really read that,
and I saw Joe tweet it. He's like, I'm so
glad the world finally knows who Hio is because literally,
if you if you are a third Strike hardcore like player,
like you'll know who Hio is. But like you know,
everybody else's watching EVO, just a lot of them, this
might be their first time ever being experienced at the

(19:41):
high level third Strike and watching Third Strike. So I
could see why you put Third Strike as the best
top eight. It's up there for me, but it's hard
to choose because it's like if I won EVO, I
think it'll have been number one for sure, dude.

Speaker 6 (19:55):
MLV.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
Also, cooking with Elena was incredible. Yeah, that was really cool.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
Really wish she had stuck with her, Like he made
the right move by switching to Chun obviously, but I
love Elena and like third Strike Atlanta specifically, so I
really wish she'd been able to like quinch it out
with her. But yeah, he did make it the right move.
But yeah, it was incredible to see at that level
Elena and Hugo, like in Top is the.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
Top six right when you when you're assuming it's Young
Chun across the board, of course, Yeah, I mean it's funny.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
How like what I was going to say, go ahead, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (20:25):
Sorry, Max, my bad, Mack. Sorry, that's actually what I
was going to say. I was thinking about, like, you know,
especially after doing commentary for EVO Japan and being like,
all right, it's young sewn, like this is going to be. Yeah,
it's kind of tough to see and kind of tough
to watch, but I was so happy for a thousand
different reason, not only that it's Third Strike, Like Justin
is commentating, I'm like, wow, Justin's commentating a third Strike

(20:46):
at EVO twenty twenty four, Like all these players that
I've been watching my entire life of playing fighting games
are on the stage showcasing Third Strike. You know, came
here in two thousand and six and was beating all
of us to death. Think he has playing Third Strike
since he was a kid. Didn't know how to play
a Third Strike and we were all playing. He wasn't good.
Now he's incredible. Like, it's just so amazing to see

(21:08):
where the game has evolved, and like being able to
see the players that have evolved with the game, Like
all those dudes put in so much work in Third Strike,
and it was just like a it was a big
full circle moment to me. It was really like super special.
I don't know if any game will top Third Strike
for me as far as that goes. Like it's just
a very heartwarming and very touching to just see all
that stuff come together. And again we had a good

(21:29):
top six like Elena, Hugo, Ken, Yes, he Hunt and Chun.
But there was a couple of outliers that that made
it really cool Urian like, and it's just wasn't what
I was. It was exactly what I was hoping, but
I did not expect it to happen.

Speaker 6 (21:43):
I guess I should.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
Say no, yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean you're you're one
hundred percent right about that, because like when you mentioned
how like thirst Strike is like full circle even the
Urian play resolved. He's twenty one years old and he
made top six. So the fact that like people like
in that age group is still playing Third Strike trying
to get good at it, it's like you could tell
the fight for the future is secure.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
Bro, the game is older than him.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Yeah, that's what I said. I was like, dude, he
hasn't been playing Thirstrike when the game came out, like
he was a baby. So it's just insane For that one.

Speaker 4 (22:13):
All we really did was just like reinforce the thought
process that I've been pitching around for a very long
time that this is just the greatest fighting you've ever made.
I'm sorry, and you know it still shows up in
tournaments and it's amazing. So yeah, it's Third Strikes the best.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
I don't know what to tell you.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
That's no argument here, argument here slight anecdote. I want
to say, back in college, people were playing Third Strike
in like a back room, like it was kind of
like this bar social area that we had, and chirithe
showed up because yeah, you spend time in Montreal, Like
I'm not sure if he's originally from Montreal.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
Yeah he lives there.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
He lives there, Okay, okay, yeah, yeah. So I met
him there and everyone's like, Chiri's here, Chirithy's here, and
I was like my first time knowing about him. And
then people were just like I want to play you,
want to play you and I was gonna play him next,
Like I was like, yeah, I'll play next, and then
I heard someone go up to him and say who
do you mean in third Strike? And back then he
just goes everyone everyone, So I was like, oh no,

(23:13):
oh no, oh no, proceeds to cook my shitty Alex
and like that that was it, and saw him every
so often and so it was amazing seeing him and
top six just like I wasn't paying super close attention
to pools him before that, so when I saw him
pop up, I was like, oh shit, and yeah, it

(23:35):
was just a nice blast from the past.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
So yeah, he's been traveling like throughout this whole year
playing thirst Strike. He went to like France, Evil Japan,
so like all the big Thirstrike tournaments. He's like really
into it. So him getting third. It's like he deserves
to get third or even because like he was, he's
been grind It's not like he just showed up and
be like, hey, I'm gonna enter this Thirstrike tournament. Call
it the day. He's working hard at Japan.

Speaker 4 (23:58):
I think Chirithy had a chun versus un mirror against Dookie,
he'd be against It was fucking nookie.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:03):
Yeah, that was the most aggressive chun versus chun match
I had ever seen. It was I think it's chun
versus chun this is this is a snooze fest up
a match at times.

Speaker 1 (24:15):
Dude.

Speaker 4 (24:15):
That ship was my favorite match from Third Strike Etho Japan,
and it was so they were so up each other's ass.

Speaker 1 (24:21):
It was crazy.

Speaker 6 (24:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
No, it's crazy because the meta of chun versus chun
has changed so much where it's not just like you
masch crouching me and kick under the table all day.
It's like super aggressive now.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
So that's cool.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
Yeah, I really like that. But for me, I mean,
like I said, you you guys said Third Strike was
the best. I'm about that six three fire six punk.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
Winning sure still really good.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
That was that was beautiful just because like you know,
I always call him the uncrowned King. You know, he's
winned so much tournaments, but never like the really big ones.
So the fact that he won, and it's also like,
you know, everyone talks about it North America can never win,
you know, street Fighter as a main title and everything
like that. So the fact that he was able to
to win and it was such a great great Grand

(25:03):
Finals like and also a lot of a lot of
character diversity. I think the only character that was like
resembled multiple time was just Ed, you know what I mean.
So that was the only two. So I was really
happy about that, and it went down to the wire
last game, final round. Yeah, and you know off of
a jumping don't tell people how to play, don't, you know,
never tell people how to play neutral. You just win
with a jumping call of the day, right, So I

(25:24):
love that. But obviously EVO has a lot of like
you know, like term results. We play a lot of games.
What about the announcements. Some of the announcements were kind
of crazy. Uh, obviously we'll go with the first one.
S and K versus Capcom sbc K Shadow dropped by
S and K and like literally they had the poster
banner hidden and then once they announced, they just like

(25:46):
put it on the floor the show floor. So how
do we feel about SBC coming back to the to
the scene also has rollback, you know from cold mystics
and everything, Like, what do we think about it?

Speaker 3 (25:56):
I I love that it's out, but I would still
maintain this would have been even better if it was
included in a CVS one and two package, like all
three were there, Like, I just think that that would
have been like an unbeatable thing, like price per value
on that collection. But I do understand it's like like
S and K owns that, and I guess it's just

(26:17):
simpler for U S and K to put out the
games that it collaborated on Capcom with and Capcom can
do the same whenever they want to do it. But
it's still really cool that it came out. Obviously a
few of us here might have gotten early access to
this before it shadow dropped on Steam. But I think
it's like a really really strong collection collection, a just

(26:40):
re release for what it is. There is a few
things that's like Codemistics is asking about people, like because
their mantra for this release was don't mess with the
original ROM. But you should we should have more than
four continues in an arcade ladder, because that's a thing. Yeah. Uh,

(27:00):
once when once you get to the end, like you can,
you know, cost through most of the game, once you
get to Super Kuma, you have four continues. And then
when if you try to just press start, nothing happens.
It just counts down, And.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
I think, wow, I think there's a there's a rom
of SBC Chaos plus that changes that, I think, so yeah,
And that was like there's one version that I remember
playing back in the day.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
I continued a lot.

Speaker 3 (27:24):
I believe this is the a S version. So it's
like the Neo it's uh it's and I can't remember now,
but like it's not the PS two version or the
Xbox version anything like that. So yeah, you there's that.
Please slow down the dialogue, Please slow that down by
the three extras. Yes, no, never, the dialogue is too

(27:46):
precious to go that fast and just disable the timer.
And when you're just selecting characters and.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
Practice, I hate that it's so fast.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
And but but aside from that, like all that unlockable art,
some of the unlockable art I don't think i've seen
before like one or two of them. I'm like, I
don't remember this at all. So yeah, I think that
was that was a great announcement. Obviously, there's some people
that are like, oh, really this and like I get it,
But at the same time, it's really neat that it
got re released. Uh go wind quote. Obviously all this

(28:17):
goes to him, credit him for his video. That video
a month before this came out. Then it spurred it, right,
They're like, ash.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
Yeah, they started development right then, right then.

Speaker 3 (28:27):
Right then? So yeah, I think it was pretty sick.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
Did you guys watch the Kevin Ryan trailer from Fatal
Furious Wolves?

Speaker 1 (28:36):
I did. He was he was mega good in Gallo, right, Yeah,
he broke in.

Speaker 6 (28:40):
He's Top Tiers, isn't isn't he Top one?

Speaker 2 (28:42):
Right?

Speaker 6 (28:42):
Isn't he pretty much Top one?

Speaker 2 (28:44):
You know, there's I think there's three Top one characters
in the game too. Yeah, be Jeanette's Top one as well.
I think Gatto's also Top one as well. So the
top tiers is one I came to, so five top ones,
it's five top one. So but yeah, looking at Kevin
Ryan the trailer, it really does look like his Garro

(29:06):
self where he's able to combo after the super Obviously
the moves is a little bit slow down and everything
like that, but he looks like he has the sauce
when it comes to all the combos. I really do
like that about him.

Speaker 3 (29:18):
His special where he hits you with his with his
knee just grabs you in the middle of the air
and just pulls you down into his knee, Like that's
such a sick special and I'm not sure if you
guys saw it. And like in his little bio, it
basically says like the Giro a City of the Wolves,
takes place in the far flung future of two thousand
and nine.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
Wait really yeah, it.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
Says two thousand and nine, and it says Kevin Ryan
is searching for Freeman, who killed his partner. So I
guess that might soft confirm that Freeman might be showing up.
That would makes sense in some form.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
So that's cool, Roster at least, that's.

Speaker 5 (29:58):
My favorite character. Just that's my favorite, even though he sucks,
that's my favorite character.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
I mean, you like you he you know what is
Joe likes that raw, raw, raw type of type of
stuff going on with the music and everything, so Freeman
kind of could pass for like that metal Head. I
get it, I get it, But yeah, I don't want
Freeman or who's the other one, Hokutoku tomorrow. Yeah, I
don't want I don't want those two characters back. I
don't want those two characters.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
I said a few podcasts ago. I was like, I'd
rather not have Freeman in there, or like drastically redesigned
Freeman to not just be like like yeah, yeah, like a.

Speaker 4 (30:31):
Clone, I'd say, based on current events and events that
were about to talk about as well, there's a there's
a Fatal Fury character that I think would be really
cool if they showed up in Fatal Fury for no
reason whatsoever, because you know, in fighting games and characters
are dead.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
They're just dead.

Speaker 4 (30:48):
You know, they don't come back. They there's never a
reason for them to come back. There's there's no way.
So with that being said, I would like a walking
corpse of Geese to be playable again in Fatal Fury.
I wanted to him back on him in the game
It's Nightmare. Geese is one thing, but I want like
a transference of soul into new body. He's younger, Like

(31:10):
I want some ship like that.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
Oh you want you want some like transformation, like like
Rudo type of thing going on.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
I want some I want some hate and my Geese
is what I want.

Speaker 2 (31:20):
You know, King of Fighters All Stars they have a
female young Geese.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
Oh yeah, you could be I want let's go dude.

Speaker 3 (31:28):
Justin, can you send me a picture of that character
in the chant? Please? Would like to you want to
female young gees?

Speaker 2 (31:34):
You know, as I'm looking for this seen.

Speaker 4 (31:38):
Oh you never seen tying my search history.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
I actually like legit. Would not want Geese back because
it's not like he has died multiple times. He has,
but he never was Raven was wrong, right, that's a
different thing. But Geese has died and come back and
died and come back based on continuities and the games.
Thank you, Justin. I'm looking at that. I would actually

(32:03):
like Krawser to come back. I want Krauser to show
up and be like buddy buddy with Kine or something
like that. Like Krouser is pulling the strings because I
think Heese is so special that he can only come
in crossover games from now on or or the King
of Fighters con right, but just.

Speaker 4 (32:20):
Think that that sets up they set up like a
power dynamic between Rock and his now not dead father
type of thing race. Oh my real dad is back.
I have two dads and one's a piece of shit.
You know there is something that can be done because
Rock has never seen his fucking dad pretty.

Speaker 3 (32:39):
Much, that's true, Okay, I mean that's interesting.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
Weird ship to explore the.

Speaker 3 (32:44):
Rocks, Like which one should I shiny knuckle, I don't
know which one? Like you know, but yeah, I'd love
Krawser to come back. That'd just be unexpected because Geese.
If Geese were to come back, that would kind of
be like, h I.

Speaker 4 (32:57):
Love But yeah, I mean, you know, we're about to
talk about something else in a very similar fashion for everyone.
But like he's been gone and he's toasted, but he's back.

Speaker 2 (33:10):
He's always back. But before we get to who's back?
Did they show any gameplay for Vice Mature for King
Virus Fatima Jo?

Speaker 4 (33:19):
I think it was just a teaser and they're not
coming out until like the end of the year.

Speaker 3 (33:24):
Oh really, yeah, something like December.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
It's like winter of this year.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
Let me ask you a question, because they announced it
as a silhouett and they announced Vice Mature. Are they
one character or two characters?

Speaker 3 (33:35):
Yeah? I don't think they confirmed that either one way
or another.

Speaker 4 (33:39):
I don't think it was directly confirmed, but I got
the impression it was two characters.

Speaker 1 (33:43):
Boo.

Speaker 2 (33:43):
I wanted. I wanted to be like some Chang Choy
type of thing from CBS that've been cool.

Speaker 5 (33:48):
Union is funny justin when I saw the silhouette, I'm like,
I know who that is.

Speaker 6 (33:52):
That's rights who that is. But I've said the same thing.

Speaker 5 (33:55):
I was like, imagine if they were one character like
Chang and joint CBS two. I said those seeing the
exact words to somebody and they disagreed.

Speaker 6 (34:03):
I'm like, what do need?

Speaker 5 (34:03):
That would be so cool, If it would be cool
screen together, that would be so sick.

Speaker 2 (34:09):
They could be like a tag, like a tag moll,
like you know in Justice to you had the Ninja
Turtles and you played all four times, Like I think
that would have been.

Speaker 4 (34:16):
Pretty This was this was a pipe dream I had
and sw we've better five as well that they would
add Yun. And it was like, oh, maybe Uni and
Yan could be like one character and they just like
high five on and doing special moves and ship.

Speaker 2 (34:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (34:27):
Yeah, that'd be really cool because it's just like a
character's gimmick. It's like when you know, like metals from
Mona or something like that. It's just like their thing
that they can do. But I don't see S and
K doing that with a kof character because it messes
up the team dynamic. Maybe a little bit is what
they're thinking, but I think it would still be cool.
When we saw their silhouette, everyone was like, it's vice
to mature, but I was like trying to big brain

(34:49):
it and be like, that's so vice and mature that
it can't be. It has to be another character. And
of course, you know, massively wrong. Happy to be wrong,
though I thought I thought it was going to be, like,
I who who do I think it was? I thought
it was Kasumi Kasumi Tendo. Yeah, totally.

Speaker 4 (35:10):
They did not take the obvious route, which was clearly,
or at least to everybody, clearly a Capcom crossover in
the SNK directions, where now there's obviously the Capcom crossover
in the S and K direction was a re release
of SBC Chaos. Obviously, street Fighter six is getting a
big terry in my so this relationship is like healed

(35:32):
and now flourishing. So my question is, and it feels
kind of obvious that at some point in S and K,
a brand new sn K fighting game is going to
get a crossover character from Capcom. So is that going
to be Fatal Fury or are they saving it for
the tail end of KOY fifteen. Ah?

Speaker 2 (35:49):
Man, I think it has to be City the Wolves, now,
don't you think, Because that's gonna that's going to be
the game that they have to push now, because I
feel like he writes finas we're at the end of it.

Speaker 3 (35:58):
Yeah, I know, But then who from City of the Wolves,
because like half the cast would have already been in
KF anyway.

Speaker 4 (36:04):
Bro, like Ken and n Ken is the the dude
that like he's practically mister Southtown already in his Street
Fighter six iteration. You know, Like I'm just saying, that's
like a two thousand gifts up. Bet if Ken shows
up in City of the Wolves or some ship.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
If you had to choose a Capcom character, Joe, what
character would you want to be in City of the Wolves?

Speaker 5 (36:29):
Capcom character for City of Wolves?

Speaker 6 (36:32):
Yeah, I really got someone else. I gotta think this.

Speaker 3 (36:43):
I would say someone from like The Final Fight, like
Cody or maybe even Hagard, not a terrible idea.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
So I'm gonna say so on Wow, he's one of
those characters that we always want to come back, but
he just they just don't want to choose and.

Speaker 6 (37:01):
And he comes back in the City of Wolves. That'd
be crazy that.

Speaker 3 (37:04):
They would be the anti pop And it was like
just like they're like sucking like the air for the
other lungs as a guest character. That's weird. But like
if you showed up in Street Fighter six, I would
love it.

Speaker 2 (37:19):
But I mean when you when you think about S
and K's choices of Cap Calm characters, they always choose
the weird characters. Like hence, like SVC or SBC, they
had a lot of weird Cap Calm characters. Like you
don't like they're like, hey, we'll take the Metri over Morgan.
I'm and I'm like, oh, that's awesome, but you know
most people would probably choose the Morgan route, right, and
so kind of same thing with like Firebrand, Like I

(37:40):
never would expect Firebrand. Uh, what's his name in the game?

Speaker 5 (37:44):
Armor arm, red armor, red armor, red arm, red Remer
red armor, something like that.

Speaker 2 (37:49):
Yeah, I'm surprised, like he was in the game. I mean,
he's busted, Like he's actually kind of crazy.

Speaker 1 (37:53):
Busted that game, and that's something I got to give.

Speaker 4 (37:55):
Like, you know, SBC KOs a ton of credit on
I love Capcom versus s K. Capcom Versus SNK two
is one of the greatest fighting games ever. I absolutely
despise the Capcom side of that roster. And to be real,
like CBS, CBS two was the game that introduced me
to a lot of SNK style characters, and I played
mostly SNK characters in that game, man, because they were

(38:15):
just so sick. So I think the example of SEC
Chaos having like a crazy SNK side and a crazy
Capcom side, dude, that is truly like S and K
versus Capcom in my opinion, more so than even CBS two,
because they really stretch the amount of like franchises they're
going to instead of primarily being just kof versus Street Fighter.

Speaker 2 (38:38):
I do like the crossovers too, like like like if
you're picking Hugo in SBC, Boo is in his head.
Yeah right, So I like that type of stuff too.

Speaker 3 (38:47):
The S and G care is the pearent in Street
Fighters six. By that logic, it'd be cool if Chun
Lee jumped over to Fatal Fury, for example.

Speaker 4 (38:55):
Yeah, I feel like there's space for Chun. Like I
honestly think that there's a couple of characters that makes
sense and would fit really well. I think like Chun
and Luke would be kind of cool in SF.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
I'm sorry. In KA fifteen, I don't want to see Luke.

Speaker 2 (39:09):
I don't want to see as dry.

Speaker 5 (39:10):
Yeah, as as dry as that is, it unfortunately makes
perfectly kind of makes sense.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
You know.

Speaker 4 (39:17):
Yeah, yeah, I mean, I guess we'll see, because like
I truly thought a team street fight would have made
it to King of Fires fifteen, but maybe they're at
this point they might want to.

Speaker 2 (39:27):
See over Cey of the Wolves or I didn't even
know this was a thing. A new Art of Fightings
or Samshow Action RBS confirmed to be in development, so
they I guess they talked about in a panel assuming.

Speaker 3 (39:38):
Yeah, right, and that's all they really said.

Speaker 4 (39:41):
Yeah, okay, they just pretty much confirmed that they're they're
working on it, and the Sam Show one sort of
a spiritual successor to the old Sam Show RPG that
had existed like I don't know, Super Nintendo MVS something
way way way back in the day.

Speaker 3 (39:55):
So yeah, it was. It was on the New York
GEO and.

Speaker 6 (39:57):
Like there was a sixty four. I think it was cool.

Speaker 3 (40:02):
That was the fighting game. Sam Show RPG came out
in the Neo g OCD and like a PlayStation port.
By the way, By the way, play that game. It's
fully translated now. I played it a few weeks back.
It's so good. You can you can when you do
random battles, you can switch it to be fighting game
inputs or just menu based final Fantasy inputs.

Speaker 2 (40:23):
I need to I need to check that out. Like,
how so you beat the game?

Speaker 3 (40:27):
I did not beat the game, but I was. I
played it for like a lot longer than like you know,
I'm just you know, doing one off things, and I
wanted to keep playing it. But it was so good
because you can pick multiple characters and they all have
their own storylines and stuff, and like the localization is
like perfect. So yeah, if whatever game that S and
K is working on, that's a spiritual successor to that

(40:48):
and a new art of fighting. Like I'm super down
because like I think Samshow's world is rich enough that
you can easily do an RPG.

Speaker 2 (40:55):
Like I'm kind of curious on how long that game
is because, yeah, that sounds pretty interesting. The fact that
you can it's a RPG and you could input special moves,
it's actually kind of sick. Actually.

Speaker 3 (41:04):
Yeah, aside from that, it's just like a regular RPG
like Crona Trigger. You just walk around like a world
map and then just you know, do dude follow the storyline.
It was super good. The art of it, like just
the intro or like big story scenes is also really
really amazing stuff. So nice, Okay, it's weird for S
and K to kind of just yeah, we're working on

(41:24):
that not even have a visual. Like at least when
Garau was announced, they at least had the picture that
Max screamed at multiple times, right, So like they don't
even have that for this, not even a logo. It's
kind of like it's a little weird to just drop
it in.

Speaker 1 (41:39):
From it's very soft reveal, you know, yeah, very soft man.

Speaker 2 (41:43):
It just seems like we talked so much about S
and K, Like S and K seemed to cook at
EVO this year, like a lot of announcements, a lot
of cool reveals, and even a collab. Right, we have
Sweet Fire six, the Terry trailer that they showed before
Top six started for street Fire six, Uh, I mean
I was expecting a gameplay trailer, but I get it.
It's always the world teaseler first, right and tease. So

(42:05):
how do we feel about the world tour version of Terry?

Speaker 4 (42:10):
I mean he looks like an Ari Njins and K character,
that's for sure.

Speaker 3 (42:14):
The thing is why he why is he not hot?

Speaker 1 (42:19):
Look awkward? Matt's like, I need them to be more fuckable.

Speaker 3 (42:21):
Come on, bro, I been looking for you and Ken.
They look they look great, and like he looks like
a weird boy, Like he looks like Kevin McAllister. So
he looks like he's home alone in it again.

Speaker 1 (42:33):
I think.

Speaker 4 (42:34):
I think Street Fighter six is an interesting art style
where it does not lean heavily into the beautification of characters.
Even some shots of like you know, Cammy's obviously gorgeous
and stuff like that Injury and Chun, but they do
not like really lean into like mega beautify everybody. There's
like a lot of like facial detail and they'll they'll
make grimacing faces and be kind of like ugly in

(42:56):
some shots. Because street Fighters like trying to go for
some middle ground hyperrealism but not being devil may cry realistic.
You know, these people's faces are not the faces of
real people, so it's it's a bit different. So I think, like, yeah,
to me, like he kind of looks like Ken. You
know where Ken in some shots of Street Fighter six
is he is he a gorgeous bitch like he's been

(43:17):
in the past now like he's kind of fucked up looking.

Speaker 3 (43:20):
He's literally homeless. But though that's why.

Speaker 4 (43:23):
It has But still, I mean, I think I think
it just lines up with the art style. That's just
kind of what three Fighter six looks like, you know.

Speaker 3 (43:31):
I do.

Speaker 5 (43:31):
I do want to say, as as happy as I
am that Terry is coming over in s three Fighter six,
I'm gonna say it.

Speaker 6 (43:38):
I know I might get some flack for it, but
they should have put the Garreaux outfit in absolutely.

Speaker 5 (43:44):
Yeah, I know why. I'm sure it's in the game.
There's no way it's not in Street Fighters exactly, Like yeah, yeah,
but I just would have liked that to be the default.

Speaker 1 (43:54):
It fits.

Speaker 4 (43:55):
He feels out of place, yeah, I guess yeah, it
it feels slightly out of place compared to like the
the the modern designs of all the other characters. How
are you and Ken look, Galro, Terry fits in perfectly.
That's what I mean. Like with Ken, I think Ken
fits right into Fatal Fury. Just his design in this
game matches that game almost identically. Terry is like straight

(44:18):
out of the nineties type shit.

Speaker 3 (44:20):
It's yeah, you feel feel lot of time. He's in
Sino Man basically.

Speaker 4 (44:24):
Like Terry is in Sinoman dot Com. Oh it's see,
that's a throwback in SnO Man.

Speaker 5 (44:32):
Like.

Speaker 3 (44:32):
I totally get what you guys are saying. It's because
like every other character grew up every character age, so
when you have a guest character, they have the exact
same default nineties costume. It does feel out of place.
I didn't even think about it like that, but maybe
what was bothering?

Speaker 6 (44:46):
Man?

Speaker 2 (44:46):
Do you do? You think it's more of like people
are like man, People might not know what Garl Terry
looks like, so we gotta make it like Terry like
old Terry. Right, Yeah, it does look it does look
bad though. Yeah it looks kind of whack. But maybe,
like you said, the girl out it should or hope
to be in there. Now the question is is it
costume two or costume three?

Speaker 3 (45:06):
Costume too?

Speaker 2 (45:07):
Will do you have to spend money. Do we have
to spend money for costum three Terry?

Speaker 1 (45:12):
Yeah? Like what the hell is costume three?

Speaker 4 (45:14):
Terry even gonna be like what other alternative are we
gonna give us ko.

Speaker 1 (45:17):
F fourteen Terry? Like denhim Terry?

Speaker 3 (45:19):
I don't know, man, Uh, it's gonna give us a
fem Terry. So you're just talking to Terryan, World to
Mode and dimeet you just shows up at just midnight blisses.

Speaker 2 (45:34):
Daddy, I'll be good again, give the tight shorts if anything.

Speaker 3 (45:39):
But like I I'd totally learn, uh and master Terry
and World Tour Mode to just get his costume and
see what his storyline even possibly is and who he
has connections with in street Fighter World, Like I want
to know it is he like beef with can does
he have? Like does he really want to.

Speaker 1 (45:57):
Beat lou No?

Speaker 4 (45:58):
Brokenon Terry are like this, they thought they're not dude
they each other.

Speaker 3 (46:04):
If you play a rich.

Speaker 2 (46:05):
Dude, that's not real lord, that's not canting now, it's
that's not hand it.

Speaker 1 (46:09):
Out, dude.

Speaker 4 (46:11):
Come on, they like he throws him his hat and
let they like acknowledge each other.

Speaker 3 (46:15):
No, Terry and Luke would hang out.

Speaker 2 (46:18):
Oh, that's stun That's that's kind of because they got
to video games, they got to push Luke. You're right, yeah,
that's kind of that's kind of as Actually.

Speaker 3 (46:29):
Terry goes to Neo Geo Land all the time and
plays like him. Him and Luke would be total bros,
the told wing Men to each other.

Speaker 2 (46:37):
So you know why I thought that Terry Traylor was
kind of like it just felt off to me because
like the way Terry look, I'm just like, eh. And
then you have like obviously the random characters in the background,
the avatar Npcason.

Speaker 3 (46:48):
Wow, but he's beating up loud, remember lau So.

Speaker 2 (46:52):
But they all look kind of weird too. Obviously they're
not meant to be, like, you know, Blue Mary is
not supposed to be Blue Mary and Joe, but Terry
just looks like they he was part of that squad,
you know. That's that's what it felt. That's what it
felt like to me.

Speaker 4 (47:04):
I don't know, Yeah, And they've been teasing that kind
of stuff for a long time. I think in the
very first Street Fighter six World Tour reveal trailer, there's
a character that is just straight up Robert Garcia. He's
gotten the the orange jacket and the pants and everything.
I'm like, what the fuck? Like they've been teasing this.
This has been something that they've been obviously, you know,
hovering around for a long time.

Speaker 3 (47:26):
Yeah, that was that was the thing. I think we
even talked about it when we did.

Speaker 1 (47:29):
There was Robert in the first trailer.

Speaker 2 (47:33):
Yeah, how do we feel about the guilty gear strivee announcement?

Speaker 3 (47:38):
That's probably the craziest.

Speaker 1 (47:40):
That is a good question.

Speaker 4 (47:41):
So the characters I think was a good call in
terms of like, yeah, venoms finally back. You know that school.
Dizzy's finally back that school. No juean Dizzy before.

Speaker 2 (47:51):
A Queen Dizzy, Queen Dizzy.

Speaker 3 (47:53):
Yeah, called her by her name?

Speaker 1 (47:55):
Is it? Is it legit? Queen Dizzy now Queen Diesy.

Speaker 2 (47:57):
She married?

Speaker 6 (47:58):
Now.

Speaker 4 (48:00):
I don't I don't know if the cyberpunk thing did
anything for me at all, because I am just not
familiar with it.

Speaker 2 (48:08):
Oh, you didn't watch the Netflix show? No, did any
of you to watch the Netflix show?

Speaker 3 (48:13):
I watched it. Yeah, I watched it. She's a cool
character like in that show, like you know, and but
even aside from it, you haven't watched it. You look
at her design, you're like that's Kilty Gear esque enough,
but yeah, if you're not familiar with the character, it's like,
let's say me talking about Hunter cross Hunter, none of
these characters do anything for me because they don't know them.

(48:33):
So in terms of a guest character, I can imagine
it falling flat for people that It's like when Megan
was announced, Like if you did not know Walking Dead.

Speaker 1 (48:42):
Yeah, what is that this?

Speaker 4 (48:43):
Yeah, this one's like it's similar to Meagan, where it's like, Okay,
we have a character from something else completely different in
polar opposite of what this is. But I feel like
this one kind of makes a bit more sense because
this is still like very anime infused, like ov is
in the same space. She already looks like a Guilty
Gear style character, like this ain't no Scorpion bro like

(49:07):
get over here and fucking Guilty Gear. So she's like
what the fuck, Like, it's nothing crazy like that.

Speaker 1 (49:13):
To me.

Speaker 4 (49:13):
This kind of goes like huh, Like that's my reaction
was like a huh and instead of well, what the
hell sort of thing?

Speaker 6 (49:20):
You have to have a question?

Speaker 5 (49:21):
Sorry for my ignorance, but is she in the game
at all?

Speaker 2 (49:24):
She's she's in the show she's in the show show.

Speaker 6 (49:27):
Sorry, she's strictly from the show.

Speaker 2 (49:29):
Yeah, strictly from the show as runner. It's a great show,
by the way, Like I love the show personally, so
I was excited when seeing Lucy because I was like,
you know, like seeing Lucy as a character developed in
the show, I was like, man, she's so awesome. So
like this might make me want to play Guilty Oil
at least install the game back on to my PC
to play Lucy personally.

Speaker 3 (49:48):
And just to give you guys some out of context,
when this show debuted, like the opinion on Cyberpunk was
still in the gutter, like like everyone was still like
training like a laughing stock, and the show was so
oh good that reinvigorated everyone and people reinstalled Cyberpunk, and
then Cyberpunk's a big deal. C that like also fixed

(50:09):
a lot of issues, Like it was a one to
two punch like it it kind of kickstarted Cyberpunk, and
now Cyberpunk is like considered, you know, like a comeback story.
So like the show did a lot of heavy lifting there.
It's like when the Fallout show debuted on Amazon Prime
and got everyone to reinstall and buy a Fallout Games again, so.

Speaker 2 (50:27):
It is even that show was good. I didn't watch that.

Speaker 3 (50:30):
Yeah, yeah, that was solid too, but it was still
like the the what the hell? Was not expecting this
announcement of EVO, I think because even even you know,
when we get to Tech and even that, it was
kind of like, okay, you know, so it was like
the craziest thing. It was like it would be Gerald

(50:51):
being in Soul Caliber.

Speaker 4 (50:52):
Yeah, it's like it's like Jerry showing up in Soul
Caliber six.

Speaker 1 (50:57):
I think it's sort of like that.

Speaker 2 (50:59):
Are you guys gonna try the three v three team mode?
I didn't even know that was announced as well too.

Speaker 1 (51:05):
Yeah yeah, it's actually like tonight or something like that.

Speaker 2 (51:08):
Yeah, oh yeah, right, yeah, yeah it's yeah. I was like,
is it like you're playing three v three but like
as you're controlling the three or is it like one
person per team?

Speaker 4 (51:19):
I think we're waiting on it, but I think it's
like one person. There's assists, like it's a team most
just Marvel. It's just fucking Marvel Guilty gear.

Speaker 1 (51:28):
Yeah, it's just Marvel.

Speaker 5 (51:30):
I just saw the assist and I was like, oh,
I didn't know it was like that.

Speaker 1 (51:34):
It might have been more kof right, like it might
have been more k That's.

Speaker 5 (51:37):
What I thought, But then I saw I think Soul
came out and didn't assist, and I was like.

Speaker 1 (51:41):
Oh yes.

Speaker 4 (51:42):
As soon as soon as you see one character do
like a grounded string launch up into another character, I'm like,
oh fuck, dude, this might be the way I play
this game.

Speaker 1 (51:50):
This might be the new way.

Speaker 3 (51:53):
Yeah, And there's so much characters in the game now
to like even support it, like versus when it launched
or something like that. So was there a tag team mode?
Because when I was researching this to see, like, is
there like actual gameplay up on YouTube? Like I saw
like videos from like a year ago that was talking
about tag mode. Has ARCS has been teasing this for
a while.

Speaker 4 (52:11):
No, did they announce this at the beginning of the
last season. Oh shit, okay, yeah, and it just vanished.
So it's like, yeah, to disappear it.

Speaker 3 (52:19):
I guess they retoold it to be this elaborate now.

Speaker 4 (52:21):
Yeah, they finally like, well it's reing released. It took
a long time.

Speaker 3 (52:26):
I tried that for sure.

Speaker 2 (52:27):
Yeah. I think it's more of just like just try
it out. It's I don't think that people have turnaments
for it because it's because even the stage got bigger
as well too. I think it's is to hold all
the characters, hold all the craziness that could happen.

Speaker 1 (52:39):
When yeah, it's zoomed out a bit.

Speaker 2 (52:41):
Yeah, so we'll see Grand Blue Fantasy Versus Rising. They
announced what three characters, uh, the Colla Sandal I can't
now Sandal Fallen and ver ver Sesia.

Speaker 4 (52:55):
And Bengeldorf and Bingle Dwarf like bath Mo Dad's as Yeah.

Speaker 2 (53:02):
I think they just announced three more new characters coming
out for Grand Blue Fantasy Versus Rising, just because it's
it's been doing so good. I mean, Evo head over
a thousand people. It was like a Sunday final game.
So that was like really awesome to see. So I'm
glad that this game in general is just cooking because
obviously before Rising, we had Versus and that was before
the pandemic, and the game just kind of died when

(53:23):
the pandemic happened.

Speaker 3 (53:24):
Right, Yeah, it's like the opposite of DNF Duel.

Speaker 4 (53:27):
I was watching the presentation they had of it. One
of the new characters this like girl with crazy big
like red hair or blue wild like she is an
oc Don't Steal. So she was introduced in the GBVSR
like story or something like that, not present in Grand

(53:47):
Blue as a game before Rising, so it's like, oh,
she's actually like a new character.

Speaker 2 (53:52):
Like brand new to the universe type ofthe.

Speaker 1 (53:54):
Yeah, so I thought that was kind of interesting.

Speaker 4 (53:56):
It wasn't just like, oh, we're just waiting on this
this character to show up from the mobile game. No, no, No,
it's apparently like a brand new character.

Speaker 3 (54:02):
So it's kind of like it's kind of like the
Guilty gear o c in the anime is now in
this season past.

Speaker 4 (54:08):
It's like, yeah, that makes sense. Laptop Android in a.

Speaker 3 (54:15):
While since I heard that infamous Dave.

Speaker 2 (54:18):
Yeah, I mean they had a side form of a
dragon Ball. I don't know, like there was a bunch
of side tournaments at Evil for dragon Ball as well too.
I didn't see this one, Matt though. Did they announce
it that Evil or right the Rivals to or Kane?

Speaker 3 (54:32):
Yeah, No, it was, well, it was, it was. It
was part of it for sure, where Urcane was in
the original Rivals a of Ether and I really liked it.
Such a such a fucking cute animal slash fighter. So
they were missing from Rivals too, and they just got
added and they look great. The gameplay trailer looks looks awesome.
The the bigger news is like every one of our

(54:53):
DLC characters after this will be free.

Speaker 2 (54:55):
Oh shoot, that's just crazy.

Speaker 3 (54:58):
Yeah, Like, because you know, Rivals a pretty big community.
I guess it's just their way of giving back. I
don't think they announced any of those characters. It might
be wrong, but I don't think they have. But uh yeah,
like you know, one of the smaller fighting games and
bits of news out there. But like I still, yeah,
first I need to get I need to play it
again because I played it when it was like kind

(55:18):
of early, so I'd want to get back in. But
like I loved I loved or Kane because it's just
like cool ass Pokemon almost like.

Speaker 2 (55:25):
You know, you know who. He reminds me of you
ever watched the movie How to Train Your Dragon?

Speaker 1 (55:30):
Yeah, truthless ish it.

Speaker 2 (55:32):
Looks like too flesh like if you think about like
it is like like demeanor and everything, it kind of
reminds me of Toothless. So I really do like that.
So I think that's a pretty cute character. I know
multi versus WB Games was there I didn't know that
Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice was being added.

Speaker 4 (55:49):
That's fucking Beetle Juice.

Speaker 2 (55:53):
Don't say his name three times? Please, please don't say
his name three times.

Speaker 6 (55:56):
I said the same thing.

Speaker 5 (55:57):
I got to do the anasm for it, and I
was only saying this name twice. Oh okay, how was
that's the idea to have these characters in video games?

Speaker 3 (56:09):
Now?

Speaker 6 (56:09):
Is like it's really cool to me. Yeah, they can
hold that whole really really cool.

Speaker 2 (56:14):
How was that announcement when you were like when you
had to announce it.

Speaker 6 (56:18):
Juice was pretty good.

Speaker 5 (56:19):
I know Sonic Fox was flipping out for not flipping out,
but Sonic was like Samurai.

Speaker 2 (56:24):
Jack, sam Jack, right Jack?

Speaker 3 (56:28):
What Samurai Jack is a really certainly what's important itself? Yeah,
he's he's a really like cool safe pick, and like
Beetlejuice fits right in as well. There's that Samurai Jack
game from like a few years ago where it was
like another action slasher thing and it didn't turn out
very well.

Speaker 1 (56:43):
I don't think in the end.

Speaker 3 (56:46):
Yeah that's crazy, like you'd consider that like to be
an amazing team up, but yeah, I don't think it
did super well. So seeing Jack in like a fighting
game just makes perfect sense. So yeah, that's pretty sick
like yeah, and of course Beto Juice make sense too
because of the movie. I think that that was timed out.

Speaker 2 (57:02):
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. The new version is
coming out.

Speaker 3 (57:06):
Right, yeah? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (57:08):
Is are those is these two characters already out or
is it just only one?

Speaker 3 (57:12):
I think Jack is Jack is okay? And Juices later?

Speaker 1 (57:17):
Oh be again.

Speaker 4 (57:17):
Like, the release of multi versus characters is kind of
weird because they're in a rift and you got to
fight them in a rift or something like there is.
The way characters are effectively released is kind of like,
you know, different, So I don't know exactly. It's kind
of hard to tell.

Speaker 2 (57:34):
M So do you think because of this game and
also WB Games being at EVO and they're making an
announcement possibly, do you think Evil twenty twenty six, twenty
twenty five this could be a EVO game?

Speaker 3 (57:50):
Oh yeah, well imagine we'll have at least one.

Speaker 4 (57:54):
Two XKO is likely going to be out before next
ev Oh there's a chance. Ain't no way that I
ain't show it up.

Speaker 2 (58:01):
Yeah, but I mean it's a different game though, It's like,
you know, get it.

Speaker 4 (58:04):
I'm just it's been like spots, like, so when we
start taking out.

Speaker 3 (58:10):
Mortal Kombat, yeah, I feel like you would.

Speaker 2 (58:12):
I feel like I feel like you have to replace
or would replace Mortal Komba one with multi verses?

Speaker 1 (58:20):
That would be wild.

Speaker 2 (58:22):
That makes sense, it would.

Speaker 4 (58:23):
I think it makes sense as consumers. I do not
think it makes any sense from a w B Games
publisher perspective.

Speaker 3 (58:32):
Yeah, what would they what would they point take out
both of their games?

Speaker 6 (58:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (58:35):
Yeah, And I think having two WB game titles headlining EVO.

Speaker 2 (58:41):
That's not a thing that never happened before, I believe.

Speaker 1 (58:43):
No, I don't know about that.

Speaker 3 (58:46):
Was in Justice and MK ever both at.

Speaker 1 (58:49):
No times, I mean not aside from my knowledge.

Speaker 2 (58:52):
Yeah, game, that's a main game.

Speaker 1 (58:56):
To many people's behest.

Speaker 4 (58:57):
Like even in Justice Too showed up for like a
year or two, people were like, oh, so you know
it wasn't It doesn't always go super swimmingly.

Speaker 2 (59:07):
I don't mean the numbers for multi When Multiverse had
their first year at EVO, it was a big side
tournament where they added like one hundred thousand dollars prize pool.
I don't know how many people entered that tournament. But
I mean it ran and Void was able to win,
so run, yeah, tried to run the beta.

Speaker 3 (59:25):
Well, we do live in a timeline where Marvel versus
Calcom Infinite didn't even get a single EVO unfortunately, So
it's like, you know, just just depending on timing and
things like, it could just not happen for certain games.

Speaker 2 (59:37):
I mean d NF Dual also didn't get well too. Yeah,
so I mean we'll see. I don't think two WB
games would make it to Evil line. I would be
really surprised if both MK one and multiverses.

Speaker 4 (59:50):
Well, let's just let's just look very different. What was
there this year? Just speaking hypothetically, what was there this
year that is like in contention of not making it
a following year? We've already you guys already mentioned like
Mortal Kombat one. You know, numbers aren't doing specifically great.
It would night, It wouldn't break the bank if it
didn't make it undernight. Does that have a chance of
making it back?

Speaker 2 (01:00:09):
I don't. I don't know. It's it's tough. I thinking
of like, okay, First fifteen will be replaced with City
the Wolvey Sure, and.

Speaker 1 (01:00:15):
That makes sense.

Speaker 4 (01:00:16):
So there there we have a replacement City of the Wolves,
S and K game is obviously the new headline hero.

Speaker 2 (01:00:22):
A Third Strike would obviously be replaced with the next
retro title.

Speaker 1 (01:00:25):
That next retro title Marvel two or whatnot, and then.

Speaker 2 (01:00:30):
We have Grand Blue Stays come on that. That was
a Sunday game that was I'm just asking. I can
see I could see Under Night being replaced by one
Hunter hundred Men Impact, but that's maybe Ooh.

Speaker 4 (01:00:43):
I am going to go out on a limb, and
I think I think Nen Impact is going to be
a lot of fun. But I think it's going to
be in the exact same spot as a DNF duel.

Speaker 2 (01:00:52):
So you don't think like it it might not make it.

Speaker 1 (01:00:55):
I don't know if it would.

Speaker 4 (01:00:56):
It had to be like, really pop, it had to
be like, fuck, this is now the sweetest ship, like
it has to be so good.

Speaker 2 (01:01:03):
All right, let me ask you a question, because in
my head I'm thinking about this hard. So obviously the
EVO retro title is more of just like, oh, we're
gonna bring back this game from the past. You know.
Obviously we're not gonna think it's gonna do really big numbers.
But there's one thousand people now Marvel Verse Capcom Arcade
Collection has been killing it on just sales and everything,
like on like you know, Amazon or whatever it's and

(01:01:24):
it's expected to be like this big giant blow where
everybody's gonna play. Do you think Marvel's Capcom two comes
back as an official title and not an EVO retro title?

Speaker 3 (01:01:33):
Oh? Hell no, I think there's a chance.

Speaker 1 (01:01:36):
You think it will like return return.

Speaker 6 (01:01:39):
You believe that Marvel two is going to be a
main game next.

Speaker 2 (01:01:42):
Year, Yeah, like a not a retro title.

Speaker 3 (01:01:45):
Because Third Strike got in by doing nothing. There's no
new third Strike.

Speaker 6 (01:01:50):
Okay, it's gonna it's gonna replace their Strike.

Speaker 2 (01:01:52):
Okay, yeah, yeah, that's what I'm asking because I'm asking
because you know how like if you have a big,
huge community that's like really popping off, like that's kind
of a EVO. But oh, we're going to bring that
game into EVO. So I'm assuming. I'm just thinking, like
would Marvel verst Com to either take a as an
official main title spot or in a retro spot main title?

Speaker 3 (01:02:12):
They would.

Speaker 4 (01:02:14):
There's no way you're going to bring back Marvel two
as a new mainline title. There's too many other like
modern games that.

Speaker 3 (01:02:21):
Not just for one year, not just for one year.

Speaker 4 (01:02:24):
I think it'll just be there. I think it'll come back.
I think it will come back next year for a
one year retro title.

Speaker 2 (01:02:30):
Now do you do you do you think it comes
back next year or the following year because I feel
like there's too much capcom bias. Oh they have for
third year retro title.

Speaker 4 (01:02:40):
And interesting point, did we did we talk about like
that whole thing of like the issue with other games
on how it's hard to get other games in there,
Like we talked about some sn K games would make
a lot of sense, like kof two thousand and two,
you know, all that kind of stuff. People were recommending
tech and it's like, bro, where's that community?

Speaker 1 (01:02:56):
Like if you're talking about tech.

Speaker 4 (01:02:57):
And five and tech and five d Are, which are
arguably the retro techans, like T five DR is the
one that you'd want a retro tech and to show
up because it's the one that all tech and head
to like, oh that was the best tech in game.
But where the hell is that community? Like they're all
playing tech in eight. There's no way to play T
five DR even with functional online it doesn't exist. So
their community is like kind of limited to small local

(01:03:19):
get togethers and maybe minor discord stuff. This is the
challenge with games like this. That's why Marvel two makes sense.
The community is about to go whoop, You're about to
get a whole bunch of people whoop. Like jumping in
and joining my goofy ass Spider Man Venom team is
a what so much ass? Like, you know, we're about
to get that. So I think that's the problem with

(01:03:39):
most retro titles. There needs to be like a congregation
to people to actually even play some of these old
games to get in there.

Speaker 2 (01:03:45):
Yeah, that's like, that's tough.

Speaker 3 (01:03:47):
Third Strike was like Third Strike was kind of like
is it's twenty fifth anniversary three? So that's likeniss.

Speaker 4 (01:03:54):
It literally has five hundred plus people playing it on
Fight Kid every single night.

Speaker 3 (01:04:00):
Could jump up to a thousand, jump into like a thousand.

Speaker 6 (01:04:03):
Eleven hundred after EVA had eleven hundred.

Speaker 4 (01:04:05):
Yeah, emulation, dude, that's a that's a ship ton of people.

Speaker 2 (01:04:10):
Yeah, that's actually kind of crazy. Okay, So if you're
thinking King Fires gets replaced by Stay the Wolf, Marvel
two takes the retrol Spot two x KO if it
comes out. Obviously it's guarantee a spot three fire six
Obviously it's not going to go away. H e right,
tech and eight it's obviously back guilty, your strive will
will definitely stay a definitely back Graham Blue will stay

(01:04:32):
as well too.

Speaker 1 (01:04:34):
Games has a lot of money.

Speaker 2 (01:04:35):
Yeah, and then replacing Mortal Kombat one with Killer Instinct, I'm.

Speaker 4 (01:04:43):
Just calling it. I don't I don't think m K
one is going anywhere. Dude, do you think it's staying?
I think it's staying.

Speaker 5 (01:04:49):
I actually I agree with Max. I I don't think
it goes anywhere either.

Speaker 2 (01:04:54):
Yeah, I'm just surprised.

Speaker 1 (01:04:55):
I prefer another game to be there instead of m
K one.

Speaker 4 (01:04:57):
Oh yeah, but if we're talking about like the logistics
of the situation and what happened, I think m K
one isn't going fucking anywhere.

Speaker 2 (01:05:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:05:06):
I guess so because the probably the boof, the boof,
they had a huge boof this year and they yeah,
that's guaranteed, uh income, right, So that game could also
potentially by next EVO be way better.

Speaker 2 (01:05:19):
I hope, So, I really, I really, I really hope so,
just because I'm just so like so turned off about it,
just like every everything's always broken or whatever, But it
seems like Taketa. I just saw some clips of like
Mustard and Ketchup doing and like tok looks really cool.

Speaker 3 (01:05:32):
Yeah, his second fatality is nuts, Like his first fatality
is kind of like man, but I saw a video
of someone doing it on the show floor. It's crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:05:42):
Actually, have you tried to ta Keta? Maxley? Did they
bring Taketa to to EVO?

Speaker 4 (01:05:48):
I played like very briefly at like thirty minutes of
them before we did our final day show.

Speaker 1 (01:05:53):
So no, I haven't been able to play much of
I'm not playing them to night.

Speaker 2 (01:05:56):
Oh okay, okay, and so so so they Yeah, so
they didn't bring I guess a set up tear stream
or anything like.

Speaker 4 (01:06:02):
Unfortunately, No, we really wanted to, but that was the
problem was that, like WB is a big publisher, so
maybe in the future, you know, if stuff happens down
the line, but it wasn't possible for the show.

Speaker 2 (01:06:15):
Okay, Now let's talk about who's back way we keep
mentioning it. How just how excited? How excited were you
about Hayachi? Everybody?

Speaker 4 (01:06:26):
I think I was pretty fucking shocked, like really, and
then I think I appreciate the reveal. He literally has
the camera up his mouth and he's laughing in your face,
like you stupid dumb bitches, How could you ever believe
I would be dead? Like he's been dead multiple times?
This is the third time Hayachi's been dead, right. They

(01:06:48):
died in Teken one he climbed up the fucking mountaine
and then Tech and five he died. He got killed
by jacks and then Tech and seven he got thrown
into the into the volcanoline.

Speaker 6 (01:06:59):
Have taken five? Is Heachi? Mishima is dead? Is dead?

Speaker 3 (01:07:04):
But they're always wrong like he but it's not like
he got resurrected, right, It's like it just didn't kill him.

Speaker 1 (01:07:12):
He's like young, Yeah, he's.

Speaker 3 (01:07:17):
He's still old, dude.

Speaker 1 (01:07:19):
He does not have a gray on his face.

Speaker 5 (01:07:20):
Again, it was a black parrot, looky.

Speaker 4 (01:07:24):
He he looks like techn tag to hey Hachi, And
they did that with that dream version of him where
he's like a young man again.

Speaker 2 (01:07:31):
I don't know what happened. I'm kind of curious about it.

Speaker 4 (01:07:33):
He definitely has some sort of fucking soul transfer intoor
some ship. That's what I'm saying they should do to geese, Like.

Speaker 3 (01:07:39):
His chest has Causia's fist in it. It do like,
but but you don't. You don't resident, you don't soul
transfer into your own body. Still, dude, did you see
that go today from Harada just saying I didn't mean
to lie, I could have forgot it. It's like, but

(01:08:03):
it's like when people when your DLC character is actually
coming coming as almost says is Heachi's dead? What are
you actually supposed to say? You have to just lie? Now?
You do have like that? Yeah, but he.

Speaker 2 (01:08:18):
That's why he is. When they showed the trailer, they
cut to her body and he said is dead, and
I was like, oh dead.

Speaker 4 (01:08:30):
I think it was like, of all the Tecan characters
of Mainstay Tech and characters they could have shown, would
fucking Marduke have gotten that reaction? Would fuck your mom
have shown up and been like let's go, like, I
don't I don't know if that any no character in
core tech and would have elicited that reaction.

Speaker 2 (01:08:48):
Right, everyone's saying that character is next facom.

Speaker 6 (01:08:52):
Well.

Speaker 4 (01:08:52):
People are saying that because the leaks, the people were
believing the leak that Mike Murray was saying this is bullshit,
and no one believed dim and that was that was
the character part of the league. The league was bullshit.
It was not real, which is good.

Speaker 3 (01:09:07):
But people are saying, well, if you reveal Hei, now,
who's gonna be the ending character of season one, it's
like the reverse of Street Fighter six where it's like,
gotta go on a bang with a Kuma.

Speaker 1 (01:09:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:09:18):
Right, so now it's like you have to that's and
that's the guest character.

Speaker 3 (01:09:23):
Yeah, guest character.

Speaker 2 (01:09:24):
Okay, oh yeah, absolutely, Okay, that's Cloud, that's.

Speaker 4 (01:09:27):
That's that's that's Tifa, that's Cloud. That's some fucking wild
Final Fantasy crossover. That's Clive. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:09:33):
That is uh, the the lead hero of Elden Ring
is we're done some ship, like you have to we
have to reach into the crevices and find something real good.

Speaker 3 (01:09:45):
Like knowing, knowing how crazy things can get and how
Techans have before. It's just gonna be Billy Butcher now
from the Boys or something like that.

Speaker 2 (01:09:53):
Yeah, you know, I mean, but the trailer for the trailer,
I'm not gonna lie. I was hype for these tech
and months. Dude, those second monks are kind of they
were good, bro. I was like, yo, oh, I was excited.

Speaker 6 (01:10:04):
About that doing like all the Mashima moves.

Speaker 3 (01:10:08):
That was cool, bro, I hope that's I hope that's
a costume for hey Hachi with the mask and oh yeah,
and yeah please because I want this character.

Speaker 4 (01:10:17):
And they they further were just so Heyachi is like
a big story character too, because he's now the new
protagonist moving forward of the story. The narrative is no
longer against Kazuyah. It's going to be against Hahachi, so
you know, and Eddie's involved, like, and Polska is involved,
like you know, Lydia is involved.

Speaker 1 (01:10:36):
So that's that's gonna be neat, It's gonna be interesting.

Speaker 2 (01:10:39):
Somehow they got all the Yeah, somehow they got all
the DC characters involved. That was kind of genius. But hey,
you need to buy Lydia and Eddie to be part
of Heyati storyline. Now, Oh that was good? All right,
So obviously overall EVO was a huge success. You guys
all went, uh, are you guys gonna think about coming

(01:11:01):
back next year? Twenty twenty five?

Speaker 3 (01:11:03):
Now I'm thinking about coming back three more times during
the year?

Speaker 2 (01:11:07):
Is it? Three four four?

Speaker 3 (01:11:09):
I was in Singapore announced to be like twenty twenty six.

Speaker 2 (01:11:13):
Ye evil evil La, Vegas, Singapore, No Singapoys twenty twenty
six is yeah, Vegas, Japan and France.

Speaker 3 (01:11:25):
Okay, you're right, you're right, but is the one in La?
It just said awards shihow.

Speaker 2 (01:11:31):
It's an award show show.

Speaker 1 (01:11:32):
Yeah, thats a tournament.

Speaker 2 (01:11:35):
Yeah, it's not tournament. It's more of like an award
show where like Joe gets an award for being so
awesome and built like a like a rock, you know
that type of stuff. But I think that's really cool.

Speaker 1 (01:11:44):
I love it physically fit.

Speaker 2 (01:11:48):
I love that though. It's it's just so nice that
it's like a FGC award show. I think that's gonna
be really fun.

Speaker 3 (01:11:56):
Yeah, but I mean, we already have an award winner
here with us.

Speaker 2 (01:11:59):
We have Max one like a while back, so you're
right ancient history man, it's like twenty fifteen or some
ship chill.

Speaker 5 (01:12:08):
Because he's just episode just got one last week?

Speaker 6 (01:12:13):
Or was I seeing something?

Speaker 3 (01:12:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:12:16):
I by the way, congratulations, justin want to see there?

Speaker 2 (01:12:21):
It is right right here, bro, it's right here.

Speaker 1 (01:12:24):
Bro.

Speaker 5 (01:12:25):
There you go, oh there awards.

Speaker 3 (01:12:30):
I have a participation trophy.

Speaker 2 (01:12:33):
I actually did not, Okay, so I didn't expect this whatsoever. Like, like, so,
I'm assuming you knew about it for I don't know
if that weekend or if.

Speaker 1 (01:12:43):
You wait, what I know about it.

Speaker 2 (01:12:46):
I didn't know about it. I'm saying, Joe, Joe about it.

Speaker 1 (01:12:50):
Joe, you knew about yours before you got yours.

Speaker 5 (01:12:52):
I knew that you were doing something, that you were
getting something, but they didn't tell me what.

Speaker 2 (01:12:57):
And I was like, all right, okay, look at that.

Speaker 1 (01:13:01):
This is that.

Speaker 4 (01:13:01):
This is the old twenty fifteen one. This is when
James jenn and Ultra Dave I got theirs too nice.
That's so nice. So I had no fucking idea. I
wasn't even in the arena because they closed it off.
There was too many people. So I was like, oh,
this was at Bally's. By the way, this was a
long time ago.

Speaker 2 (01:13:18):
I thought I got in trouble because because I was,
I was already this. This is the way that, this
is the way how it went down. So I'm on
the I'm on the commentary desk getting ready to do
Dart Strike. They're trying to fix the arcade hardware to
get it working. And then and then Ben he Be,
he's one of the guys that's working production He's like, yo, uh,
did I talk to you for a second? And I'm like,

(01:13:38):
you know when when you hear something like that, I don't.
I'm like, oh, what can I talk to you for somebody?
Oh I did something wrong?

Speaker 6 (01:13:43):
What did I do?

Speaker 2 (01:13:44):
So I'm going there and they're like, oh, yeah, just
just wait right here. And I'm waiting right here for
like ten minutes, and I'm just like it's a long
ass time, right, and then they're like, a 's go
stick with Mark, and I'm like, damn, something's happening. So
then I see Diego come up, and I'm just like, oh,
that makes sense. They want us to play third Strike,
and you know, I'm gonna throw the sipper out call

(01:14:05):
a day and then boom, right, that's just and then
we're gonna go right. That's That's literally what I'm thinking
the whole time. And then eventually, you know, they you know,
Joe came out announcing and bringing Mark in, and then
they started doing this thing and I'm just like, oh,
this is Oh, we're not playing Dirt Strike, We're doing
something else. So I was really confused for like ninety
nine percent of the time. And then the only thing

(01:14:26):
Mark told me was like, uh, just remember why you
play fighting games. And that was it. So that was
it was a very touching moment because I didn't know,
you know, I was getting the award because the crazy
pop up the Cannon Award. Like I knew Sherry was
going to get the Canon Award weeks ago because they
told congrats to her with the pass. They told me,

(01:14:47):
so I'm like, don't tell her. I was like, yeah,
I won't tell her. So the fact that like they're
telling me, like like, don't tell her, but then they're like, yeah,
but you're getting award, two bitch, and they didn't tell me.

Speaker 4 (01:14:56):
I was like this It was funny from my end
because were rebroadcasting it right and everyone's like, Justin's getting
an order. I'm like what I flipped over and it
has you giving the speech to everybody like and saying
hi to the family and everything.

Speaker 1 (01:15:07):
I'm like, this is wonderful. This is so great.

Speaker 4 (01:15:09):
And then and it's like you say thank you and
go the opposite direction, and then the lights come down
and was like we.

Speaker 1 (01:15:15):
Have another one.

Speaker 4 (01:15:15):
And then it shows like you just stray getting parried
by Diego like this board, dude just can't escape this shit,
like you just cannot why would they do it like that?

Speaker 2 (01:15:24):
Yeah, but I mean, I guess it makes sense with
the Impact war Like if I'm going to get one,
then like Diego was going to get one too, right,
So yeah, it's so I'm just excited that there's another
award besides the Canon Award to Impact Awards, So maybe
there's multiple awards in the near future. Maybe the ward
show will have more details about it. But I really
like the fact that they're like, uh, they're going to

(01:15:45):
celebrate a lot of people that's been putting a lot
of work in the fighting game community.

Speaker 4 (01:15:48):
Yeah, and I'm I'm really kind of like looking forward
to this award show to see like teos and shit
that this is the one thing that comes to my
mind is like, Okay, so if there is a apbsolute
uncongratulated element of the FGC, it's it's literal people that
are like bracket runners and to os and people that
actually make the stuff possible. So if this is a

(01:16:10):
situation for us to put them on the forefront, I
don't want it to be all content creators and people
got to get first place and shit, I think that
there is a space of like the FGC that absolutely
deserves recognition for whooping ass and keeping their communities alive
for so many years.

Speaker 1 (01:16:26):
I hope that's what this is.

Speaker 2 (01:16:28):
C Joe. You got to get your ECT award at
the LA Show.

Speaker 1 (01:16:32):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 6 (01:16:32):
You ut an Justin.

Speaker 5 (01:16:34):
If for any reason I get an award and you're there,
I am going to jump on you from the stage,
embraced right now.

Speaker 6 (01:16:41):
It's your fault.

Speaker 2 (01:16:43):
Why why why? I don't see how it's my fault
at all.

Speaker 6 (01:16:46):
How you work. I've known you long enough, I know
how you work. This is your fault. No, no, no, like Justin,
this is your fault.

Speaker 2 (01:16:53):
It's not. I think it's more of just like you know,
you keeping the scene alive. Obviously, there's not many like
you know, East Coast tournaments to so the fact that
you brought e C T and make it as big
as it is, it's, uh, it's really a dream come
true for a lot of people that can participate, right
because not everybody is gonna be like I can go
to EVO or I can go to CEO column Breakers.
So the fact that you got a major tournament at

(01:17:15):
the Northeast scene, it really helps a lot for those people.
That can't make it to like the farther regions, right, yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:17:21):
I appreciate that. Thank you, justin thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:17:24):
Of course it's it's not, but it's not. It's Max's
fault of anything. He's the one that he started. He
started it.

Speaker 4 (01:17:35):
Actually think sorry apologizing for but I'm sorry he started it.
You're you, You're the guy that made everything happen. Ship,
But I think that kind of wraps it up.

Speaker 2 (01:17:48):
Joe. Where can people find you?

Speaker 6 (01:17:51):
Oh? Everything is pretty much this is l I Joe.

Speaker 5 (01:17:54):
That's mostly on Twitter, a little bit of Instagram, not
really a lot, a little bit of streaming, a little
bit of YouTube, but you can find me at this
is l I Joe.

Speaker 2 (01:18:04):
So if you guys are hearing that Joe is not
doing enough on socials and streams, so leave the comments
below tell Joe to do more, because I mean, me
and Max we've been telling him that he needs to
do more when it comes down stuff like he's so talented,
you know.

Speaker 3 (01:18:20):
Get out of there.

Speaker 4 (01:18:23):
That's all it is, is that whole life just just
full time stream does?

Speaker 1 (01:18:27):
It'll be easy, right, Joe?

Speaker 4 (01:18:29):
Yeah, so super curpous.

Speaker 1 (01:18:36):
What don't you do it too?

Speaker 6 (01:18:39):
No, thank you guys so much.

Speaker 5 (01:18:40):
I really like you know, you guys are like I
do care about this tremendously, and you know, you guys
are doing your thing tremendously and I love what all
you do for me and for us as a community.
So I just wanted to get this opportunity to say
thank you to you guys and everyone that's really helped
pushing the scene out there and getting more people involved
and everything. So and I appreciate to support you guys.
Guys give me all the time. So nothing but love

(01:19:02):
to you and everybody else out there. Thank you guys
so so much.

Speaker 1 (01:19:05):
Appreciate it. Joe, thanks for having me on, man, Thank you.

Speaker 3 (01:19:08):
I think this might be the most wholesome ending we've
ever had on an episode of Triple Chaos.

Speaker 1 (01:19:12):
That we're trying to abruptly end here. Okay,
