Speaker 1 (00:05):
Ripple Kyo.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Well, come to another episode of Triple k. Oh the
post Evo blues, some would say, and of course in
regular style, there's a bunch of news that happened just
after we finished our last episode with l I, Joe,
Justin Wong, Maximilian, how are you guys doing today?

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Doing great? You know, I really do enjoy the whole
fighting game news, never stop venture. So the fact that
that's a thing, I I'm all for it.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Justin, don't you want another planet right now?

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Technically I'm home.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
Oh that's oh, got it.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
The giant Ornate or Nate's room.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
I'm home, you know it's but yeah, I'm in. I'm
in read for an Esports World Cup and yo, So
you know how you've been at Universe Studio in California
a few times, right Max?

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Yes? Oh yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
So you know how when you first enter the like
the place with the tickets, and you see like that
walkway and you see all the theme parks like straight
all the way down and you got to take that
walk Yeah, that's what Esports World Cup looks like. It's
like literally esports like buildings everywhere, and I'm like, this
is really a theme park for esports, and I thought

(01:24):
that was like really crazy because I just didn't think
that was you know, It's just it's just really crazy
that just visually see that.

Speaker 4 (01:31):
Do they have a section dedicated to the dark Prints
run in Marvel two.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
I don't know. I haven't gotten that far yet. Damn
as every time I gone out, it's pretty hot, so
I want to make sure I stay inside or indoors
all the time.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
Wait a minute, you're telling me it's hot outside.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
It's very It's very I mean, I know you guys
have summer too where you're at, but I'm pretty sure
it's a more bearable compared to where I'm at.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
So I do know.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
But you lived in you lived in Vegas too, like
it has to be like somewhat similar. It's like a
desert environment, right, desert ease.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
I think Vegas heat is very similar to you like
Read's heats, but the temperature goes higher in Reac.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Really, because it was like over like I never experienced
heat like that before. When when I was there as well,
I was looking at the sun and just going like
curse you bail, like it has to be the work
of like a nefarious dragon. It was. It was so hot.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
But the sun here feels like when you're playing Mario
and that sun is trying.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
To spray, it's like chasing behind it.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
It feels like, yeah, that's what it feels like.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
I think constantly three feet behind you broll.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Today it felt like it was one hundred and twenty
five degrees.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Okay, that is honor territory.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
I really wanted a bit in in Vegas where I
could film myself drinking like a carton of milk and
say that drinking this was a bad choice. Like, but
I never had an opportunity because I'm sure like as
soon as I took a carton of milk outside it
like the box would just explode or whatever, or the
or whatever receptacle. I really wanted that bit. It's funny

(03:17):
that you mentioned Esports World though, because I think, like
slightly before or around EVO, I read a report saying
that someone is considering making a thing like expanding Vegas
out to possibly have like an esports themed like a
hotel or another smaller like building or something like that.
Like there was like these plans like someone's considering it,

(03:39):
like maybe we can build out Vegas a little bit
more to like incorporate that. Did you guys hear about
that at all?

Speaker 4 (03:45):
Or well esports arena like outside of luxor stuff.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Right, yeah, but like a better version of that.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Oh okay, I heard that many many times that Vegas
wants to do more esports stuff. The thing is, they
just don't know who to talk to, you how this
get it started? Maybe there's many a time like esports
arena in the Lugsore is the closest thing that Vegas
has for like some type of esports facility.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Okay, because yeah, I wish i'd pulled up the article.
It was like two or three weeks ago where I
saw that. I was like, oh, that's cool, like literally
like esports like like Disney World or Universal where it's
just like got themed rides and stuff. Oh the Perfect
music movie, Marvel versus Calcom too. You know, just be
playing it constantly.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
You know they're built, they're trying to build over here,
Dragon Ball Theme Park World.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Yeah, I heard that, so that'd.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Be kind of crazy.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Actually, but now I'm even too scared to go to
like Super Nintendo World because in Japan. I don't know
if it's the same in the US, but the japan
one when I go to Japan sometime in the next
couple of months. That's just like you need to buy
the tickets, Like you need to buy the tickets before
the building, before all the rides were built. Now, yes,
like you have to to get them so fine advanced

(05:01):
on the lines are so crazy now, like it's only
gotten more popular because I guess because of tourism, especially
in Japan. But now it's like, I don't even know
if I can handle that at the stage of my life.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
You are not wrong. If if you can reserve, you
always want to reserve because Japan is like everyone's a
fan in Japan. Yeah, it just sells out in Japan.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Everything I've heard from folks that have been to Japan
or have been to like theme parks or anything like that,
those motherfifers are willing to wait like exorbitant amounts of time.
So if you can get reservations for anything at any point,
I hear going to Disneyland is just like a nightmare
because you're in line for like four hours ready generic
ride because everyone's just so patient, everyone's just gonna chill.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
That sucks. It sucks everyone's patient because it means you
have to be patient. But it's not open now, but
they're gonna open the Donkey Kong Country World section. Yeah,
and I'm like, holy, I want I want to go
on especially super Bad. Imagine imagine if things were just
different Nintendo kept Killer Instinct and there'd be like Killer

(06:08):
Instinct ultra tech facilities.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
This went to a place.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Yes, I don't know how how did you transition into
Killer Instinct after.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Because because Donkey Kong Country and then like Rare and
then Rare made Killer Instinct. That's kind of akin. But Jesse,
you should all by now on this podcast, k I
is one step backwards after every thought.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
Killer Instinct, Sports arena, killer.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Instinct, deserts, cinder stage, killer Instinct, you know. So uh
but yeah, let us get onto the news and the
big one, uh we were talking about a little bit
last time, is that at Comic Con, Mortal Kombat another
realm unleash their plans for the new expansion, which is,

(06:56):
you know, not unexpectedly titled Chaos because at the end
of that game it was basically like the new villain
will be this crazy version of Havoc And yeah, big
story expansion, a bunch of new characters at new finishing
moves which I really want to talk about, But what

(07:16):
are your guy's first impressions on everything that they showed
at Comic Con.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
It it was a lot sooner than I thought it
would be. It's dropping like later September, like September twentieth.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Or twenty second or something like that.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
So I was kind of surprised by that because Takeda
just came out and we'll talk about that a bit,
but there they had like an entire new season ready
to go, and just for clarification, three characters available at
launch with that story mode and whatever changes, they got
three characters. So you know Sector Cyrax, Female Sector in Syrax,

(07:47):
and you know Noob Sibot and the guest characters are
effectively who is getting added later. So I'm like, wow, okay,
so we're filling out the roster really fast here.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
I think the reason why they're doing that is just
like MK ones has been getting a little better, you know,
a bit of a bad rep so I think this is, yeah,
maybe they're possible, Like you know what, we're trying to
make it up to you, so let me give you
three new characters. Yeah, so I think that might be
the play.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
And story relevant characters correct me if I'm wrong. Though,
from Mortal Come at eleven, it was like two rounds
of DLC and then the final round of DLC was
like Malina Rambo and one other character and that came
with the story expansion like that was aftermath, right, it
was like season one, season two, and then like a

(08:38):
season three and that had Malina Rambo and the third
person I'm totally misremembering was a terminator?

Speaker 3 (08:46):
Was it? No?

Speaker 1 (08:48):
I think he was before that, which season was it? Again?

Speaker 2 (08:52):
It was like there was a season one in season
two of just DLC characters for m K eleven, and
then the last season had surprised like, oh, here's the
story expansion, here's Molina Rambo and like a third character
god Now, yeah, might have been Fujian because he was
featuring later story mode. Yeah, I think I might have

(09:16):
been fujin And this is more like the expansion right away,
the story expansion right away and the second like season
of DLCs, So like, yeah, they're really zooming this up
a bit faster, But I guess it's because they already
had the story mode kind of planned out ahead of time,
and so correct me if I'm wrong on the pricing

(09:37):
slash character thing you cannot get h the the three
ninjas without buying the actual story expansion is they're not separate, right, yes, of.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Course, Oh so you can't bite them individually. You have
to buite a story expansion.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
The three guests will be individual, but not but not
the the yeah, uh sector, Cyrax and Nube.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
Uh So that's kind of yeah, all right.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Yeah, that's kind of yeah, exactly, chesse a couple words
out of my mouth. That's kind of yeah, I get it.
At the same time, I don't know why you just
can't make them individual, like as an option, like maybe
you get slightly a bit of a money saved if

(10:29):
you did it, but the entire expansion is something like
forty nine dollars, like it's fifty bucks positive.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
And that's where like the bit of the controversy is
because yeah, this is the I think one of the
few times in like a season pack history where you
cannot buy the characters individually. So you just got to
commit the fifty even if you just want Nube Sibod.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
There's no you have no choice, not the fifty.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
It's weird because we always kind of I've been trained
to believe that when there's guest fighters, they have to
pay for that license, Like those cost a bit more
to actually make versus your all original characters that like
exist within the world, So like the Three Ninjas, so
it's like, oh yeah, this character, this guest character costs
a little bit more, like you know, the the collabs

(11:19):
or the costumes in Street Fighter six, like Ninja Turtles
and all that, Like, oh yeah, that costs money. But
like here it's like the reverse. Yeah, no, you It's
almost as if they know Mortal Kombat fans kind of
want the Mortal Kombat characters a bit more than let's
say the guests at least at this point in time,
because yeah, what do you think the crossover is that
people just going finally, the T one thousand is in

(11:42):
a fighting game, Like, there's not even a Terminator thing
coming out at at least when Arnold you read what
no I read.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
A lot of people were very disappointed in that that
T one thousand. Pick me personally, I mean we grew
up watching T two into I personally think he's cool.
But there is also that Netflix show coming out that's
a Terminator Netflix.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
And the the anime that that is true it's coming Max.
Do you know when this is coming out, that it's
amazing it's coming.

Speaker 4 (12:14):
I have an ad for this guest character thing, but gone.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
It's coming out on Judgment Day August twenty ninth. I'm like, okay, that's.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
So I have my only backup to that as as
an old boomer is we got a lot of crazy
boomer characters of Mortal Kombat.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Oh yeah, I mean I'm not I'm not going to
doubt you.

Speaker 4 (12:37):
I think everybody was happy. Who the hell is a
zoomer character? Is it fucking like Jake Paul is in
Mortal Kombat won or some shit.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Bro Logan Paul. If Logan Paul was a guest character
in Mortal Kombat, people would lose it.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
Who would legit be like a zoomer character.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
No, Lucy from Cyberpunk Edge Runners is the zoomer character.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
I guess that's a good example.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
But still also like relatively like Niche still like you
you have to like watch the anime because she's not
in the game, you know.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
Yeah, I just mean she's the closest parallel to like
a character that was only introduced in the last like
five years.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
Sure, I get what you mean.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
Currently, I'm trying to think I'm thinking of like movies
and ship bro Like. The closest one I guess is
Walking Dead with Megan, but he's he's technically ancient, right.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
A dragon from House of the Dragons. I don't. And
even then that's like from an older well then novels
from twenty seventeen in the House.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
He keeps. I keep saying, it wouldn't happen to Bluey Lily.
You add Bluey's dad, you had bandit.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
Would Baltimore account.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
Dude.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
No, that's the movies from the early two thousands.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Yeah, no, no's age ship now.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
Is the god it.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
I guess Harry Potter character in Mortal Kombat, though he
would work pretty well, he literally cast a death curse,
so I get it.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
I guess Star Wars like legendary characters.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
I feel like Mortal Kombat. The well has dried up,
like I feel like a lot. I don't mind a
lot of them. Conan is definitely a choice. I prefer
Conan over like Rambo from the first one. Ye, but
still it's neat that another Arnie character is making it end,
which is which is funny? Ghost Face is not modern
day relevant?

Speaker 3 (14:37):
No, no, no, no. If the added john Wick.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
John Wick, that's not bad.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
John Wick is about the closest one and dude. But
the funny thing is john Wick was literally the first
guest character in Fortnite, literally was the very first one.
When they were like, oh, we're gonna we're gonna do
crossover skins. John Wick was the very first one. So
it's like, oh, he's already, He's been crossed over to
Hell already.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
Max and john Wick go ahead.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
The most popular zoomer character you can possibly have in
future fighting games Luke from Street Fighter six.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
That is not No, I don't know who the a.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
So the next season of DLC will be Bluey john Wick.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
And yeah, like that's that's what my question is, is that, like,
what other legendary characters can possibly permeate a Mortal Kombat roster?
Which is which is why that question that ed proposed
on Twitter not that long ago, where it's like, should
we go back and use some of our older guest
characters and bring them back? And everyone's like yes, So,
I mean well, a lot of a lot of people

(15:46):
were complaining who are these characters type of stuff, but like,
give me an example of who can replace them? And
my headscape is not in the Zoomer mentality. I don't
maybe a popular TikToker or some shit.

Speaker 1 (15:59):
Dude, I don't know what the hell's going on.

Speaker 3 (16:01):
You could do Alien Predator now because that the movie,
but it's already movies coming out.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
Sure, yeah, but I would I would like to see
the faral Predator from from Prey and aliens don't change
that much, but at least a new alien movie is
coming out, like Terminator two, characters at least aren't and
they've been trying to make a Conan movie for like
the last fifty.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
Years or whatever.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
Oh yeah, okay, so I mean King Spawn. It finally
has a title, The Spawn movie is called King Spawn.
But yeah, but it's it's still so weird to me,
like the T one thousand. Now we're going into secondary characters,
like not even the main character of a particular film,
like listen, I love The T one thousand, Robert Patrick.

(16:48):
But it's not like it's not like Terminator two is
getting like a big anniversary like extended cut in theaters
or anything like that that I can kind of understand.
That feels like really drawn from the well. I know
that well is empty, like you said, but I think
there's a conclusion.

Speaker 4 (17:04):
Between the T one thousand, Conan, and ghost Face that
the biggest reach is the T one thousand.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
I think it's the biggest reach because at least Scream
had a recent movie that came out and they still
use ghost Face.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
Bro, I don't know how we're not saying Conan.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Well, it's because he Conan's not hasn't been in a
fighting game yet.

Speaker 4 (17:26):
I guess sure, But like Conan from the fucking eighties,
Like really, okay, Conan outdates the T one thousand and
fucking ghost Face by ten to twenty years.

Speaker 3 (17:38):
But I think everyone knows that if Cone, oh that's Arnold,
you know, they just know him as Arnold.

Speaker 4 (17:44):
Well yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's I mean, I agree
with you there, That's the reason I'm looking forward to him.
I'm just saying that, like, it's it's wild to me
that like the T one thousand, and I agree, it's
a reach, But I think the even bigger reach is
fucking Conan, dude.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Like, I get I get it in that it's older
and it's like not as socially relevant like Terminator two.
All are arguably a bigger, you know, franchise than Conan
became in the mainstream like movie like like genre. But
at the same time it's like there's it's a barbarian
with a sword. It's at least a little bit kind

(18:21):
of interesting versus just more gun character.

Speaker 4 (18:23):
Get me wrong, I am the most interested to play
Conan of any character in that DLC. Conan is the
one character even of the modern like ninjas and stuff
like that. I actually want to play Conan the most because.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
We get tusks, you get another tusk. Yeah, and I
loved us so Weirdly enough, the voice actor that plays
the two one thousand, Robert Patrick, the voice actor that
the voice actor the actor, but the voice of Ghostface
all returning. When asked will Arnold be playing? Why does

(18:57):
this keep happening? When asked will Arnold be playing Conan?
Ed Boone said, we don't know yet. And in the
l and in the IMDb, and like you know that
you can never be one hundred accurate, but a list
these characters, and when people were digging, they still can't
find Arnold Twartzenegger credited anywhere? Will this be another sound alike?

(19:19):
Right now? It's like, yeah, probably, How the hell can
they not afford Arnold.

Speaker 4 (19:25):
It really felt like the whole reason we're adding another
Arnie character is so that.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
To play him.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
Yeah, yeah, so.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
That would be I'd like to be.

Speaker 4 (19:36):
A huge that'd be a big miss. If Arnold once
again to portray himself in another Mortal Kombat game years
later and he you know, the guy's kind of old too,
like just to give to give the dude a break,
you know.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
This is he did. This is a weird choice.

Speaker 4 (19:54):
This is I think Conan is the weirdest choice of
all of them, because well, if we get Arnie to
come back, he ain't gonna sound like twenty five year
old Arnold Schwarzenegger or something that was in Conan or
some shit, or like thirty year old Arnie.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
But they did get him to play like Dutch and
Predator Hunting Ground. This is to me fair, but it
wasn't older Dutch like they did. So that there's that,
But at the same time, it's like, why was that
game able to afford Arnold? And like Warner Brothers can
just can't get They keep putting Arnold in the game,
getting his likeness, but just not getting the voice a

(20:31):
second time. It's so bizarre.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
That is weird.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
Sector and Syrax being in the main thing is still
bizarre to me. I don't think I'll ever like this,
even if the characters are different compared to their cameo versions.
I don't like any of.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
The fuck you up how such Sector and Cyrax became
one character.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
I like Triboard, That's what I mean. I still think
that's a great idea to do to this day.

Speaker 4 (20:58):
Did that did that impression because that was the last
time they were playable, right, So did that impression of
what Sector and Cyrax are as characters, like effectively combined
into one character with the other roboninjas? Did that fuck
up your impression of what Sector in Syrax is?

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Not really because the human versions of them were so
probably so we're so prevalent in MK nine that they
don't separate like so when they're humans, and obviously that
they just seem to be humans with robo armor over
them in this version. I'm fine with that. I just
mean the fact that there can be Sector in Syrax
on the cameos, just like Scorpion and sub Zero and

(21:34):
Johnny Cage or Janet Cage, but then they're also certain
characters are also in the main roster.

Speaker 1 (21:41):
I just think cameos sub zero sub zero.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
I get how they're I get how it's the older
versions of the characters and this is the new age
Lukang's new universe. I totally get that. But at the same time,
it's just like you could get someone else in there,
you could like, you know, anybody, really and it just
it's just it's such a minor thing, but it's still
so weird to me. But I mean, their gameplay, Sector

(22:05):
and Cyrax looked really cool and like fresh, like compared
to the stuff they did before. What did you guys
think of what they were doing.

Speaker 4 (22:13):
I think their gameplay looks cool, you know, relatively fine.
It's it's weird to me that the because Takeda is
super fun.

Speaker 1 (22:23):
We'll talk about that.

Speaker 4 (22:25):
I actually do not like playing any of the MK
ninjas in Mortal Kombat one, and it's what the ones
I historically love the most. So I'm really curious how
Sector and Syracx play because they're fun right there. These
are relatively fun characters in the history of MK. I'm
very curious how they play and and if if my

(22:46):
feelings about like all the traditional ninja slash now cyborg
ninjas are is the same where it's like, yeah, I
actually don't like playing the.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
Ninjas in this game. This is very weird to me.

Speaker 4 (22:55):
But you know, granted I'm playing to be to be legit,
I have had the most on and in playing the
most Ninja character of all of them, which is actually
fucking Taketa.

Speaker 3 (23:07):
What did you think?

Speaker 2 (23:07):
Justin?

Speaker 3 (23:08):
I think Max is kind of right on the money,
where the ninjas don't act like ninjas, They're just kind
of like really straightforward and they don't really give me
too much. So I guess I'm more looking forward to
the Doc character. The guest characters over the first three
Ninja characters are coming.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
Out the entire season. I'm looking forward to more than
the first season, just because it was like a lot
of superheroes, right, and not even ones that I like.
I am super.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Inch with much more too.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
Yeah, even though they're weird and we're talking about others stretch,
but I like them more. Yeah, because it's three ninjas
like Nube Obviously, I really like the edits people have done,
saying the green scars that nubeas that are glowing like
looks so off and people just change it to purple.
It looks a thousand times better just black and purple

(24:06):
just go a bit better in purple being a death
associated color.

Speaker 4 (24:10):
So here's another problem from previous Mortal Kombat games leading
into Mortal Kombat one. Mortal Kombat eleven, Nube Sibots design exists,
and it's like the most peak fucking noube sibot ever
and now we give him a funky hat and give
him a big holy green chest, and I'm like, this
is not doing it for me.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
But he does have a better voice. The Doctor Claw
voice an m K eleven I was not a fan
of because it just sounded like Doctor Claw so much,
and now it just sounds like it fits him a
bit more to me personally. But yeah, design wise, yeah,
it's it's not great.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
Have any of you guys played Tiketa.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
I downloaded Combos I he watched Combos of Max and
then I downloaded him, but I have not.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
Booted him up, so I'll summarize it for you. He
it kind of sucks, but he's the most fun character
in the game.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
That's fine.

Speaker 4 (25:06):
His neutral's ass pretty much, but like combo routes and
what he can do, like mobility wise is insanely fucking cool.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
It's so cool.

Speaker 4 (25:15):
They gave him almost more tools than Taketa has in
any of his variations in Mortal Kombat X, Like he
has so many special moves.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
It's wild.

Speaker 3 (25:22):
Oh wow.

Speaker 4 (25:22):
So I like don't even care that he's kind of
like hard to win with because once you know what
he does, it's over.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
Dude.

Speaker 4 (25:29):
He's so much fun though, Like, and he does decent damage,
and he's relatively high execution, like you get rewarded for
big execution, which feels nice. So I'm like, oh, dude,
this character is like one balance change away from being
like insanely fucking Cool's right now, he's just like the
most fun character in the game, and most people kind
of agree where it's like, oh, he seems like he's

(25:51):
busted at the start because of his damage and all
this wild stuff, and then he realize opening people up
is very difficult, so and his buttons are mad slow,
but you know it doesn't matter because when party time happens, dude,
I'm having a great time. Like all this other stuff
that he can do is such a it's so much fun.
So it leads me to a situation of season two
or you know, the next Chaos Rain season that other

(26:16):
characters are going to be fun like this. I really
hope so, because Takita is like, oh my god, if
this is where this game is going, this is going
to be amazing.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
M any good? Any other examples of that? A character
you guys have really liked, but it's actually like kind
of sucks, like do you like playing them so much?

Speaker 3 (26:33):
Street Far six season one Oki, Yeah, okay, it was
really fun and then but things remember saying she was
not on that list at all.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
M m, it's for me or kid and k I
is no considered very very top, but I love I
love playing as her a lot, and even in like
something more like el Farete and Street Fighter for was
he ever considered good? Like I know he could be annoying,

(27:05):
which was right right right?

Speaker 3 (27:07):
He was always annoying. Yes, the last season the Street
Fighter four, they gave him a new move where he
pumps his chest out and everyone hated that move to
oblivion because of how good that move was.

Speaker 4 (27:18):
Yeah, he became more annoying, and then he became so
annoying that people just hated him. Yeah to throw that
in Yeah, Full Gore season one, Killer Instinct. Yeah, he
was super bad, but I didn't care. He was just
so much fun beam lasers and.

Speaker 1 (27:30):
Ship like that.

Speaker 3 (27:31):
The hype beam, Yeah that was cool.

Speaker 4 (27:33):
Yeah, that's back when the hype beam was pretty much
the goal of the character.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
That was hype Yes, it was back when it was like,
uh so the other big thing the announced is Animaladies. Now,
this has been a crazy uh journey to get here
because well before m K one released, I remember we
had a podcast where I brought up the fact that
ed Boone had said in an interview, we are bringing

(27:57):
back a finisher, uh and did not say other other
than that. But he's like, well, remember how in m
K eleven we uh brought back the friendships. It's going
to be like in line with that.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
And then when when we're starting to see Lee May's
move set, now she had this big energy like lion
h stand right essentially in her move set. I was like, Oh,
that's how they're good. That kind of looks like how
Animalities used to look like an m K three. He
was like a big, colorful like energy, like you know,
version of that. And I was like, Oh, that's what

(28:31):
they're going to add. And then they never added it,
and I forgot about it, and I just put that
in the pile of Ed's a liar.

Speaker 4 (28:41):
Because Ed like answered the question that there was a
new finisher coming, and then he fully declosed and revealed
his ed Boone banana hammock and walked away. So we
all thought nudialities were coming. Like their back. Yeah, bro,
they the classic nudialities of Mortal Kombat that we all
remember knowing that definitely happened.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
They're back. We did it. But no, they're animaloties, he lied.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
I'm so so upset. So yeah, I feel like you've
had this bit ready for a big I want to
talk about these neutalities.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
I've been thinking about it for a while.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
He's just like, you know what, Mortal comas already hard
to monetize on YouTube. Let's just make it even harder
make money.

Speaker 4 (29:27):
Just put up like general gameplay videos where I know, shit,
don't do. I cannot do brutalities in Mortal Kombat. I
can't do fatalities in Mortal Kombat. If you kill a character,
you are instantly demonetized. And I don't even have it
in my latest gameplay video and it got still fucking
eighteen flag demonetized.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
I'm like, it's so it's so hard to be an
MK creator on YouTube.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
Aside from that, what about the stage with all the
decayne like ripped up bodies. But isn't there a variant
of that stage that does something like I'm not sure,
I remember we're seeing like an option like when the
last time I played the game where that that stage
had a vary I'm not sure if it got rid
of the blood and stuff, but like not or colored
it differently. I don't know, But that stage, when I

(30:09):
was putting up videos of the game, I was like,
I just I just can't. I can't move on this stage.
I have to go on this one corner where there's
like the least amount of bonds.

Speaker 4 (30:17):
This amount of dude getting literally like absolutely destroyed from
the inside out in the background.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
Not even not even old MK games had at that.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
That maybe the pit dude UMK three. In terms of
the gore of UMK three.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
Back in the day, it was charming.

Speaker 4 (30:35):
It was like childlife that would make it into Disney
Plus nowadays.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
Yeah, So animalodies, Uh, it was actually kind of interesting
to see a couple because it's like animalities have been
screwed up forever because of the lateness of Scorpion and
some other characters in UMK three. When they introduced in
MK three, it was all messed up. Shiva instead of
turning into a dragon because she is half human half dragon. Well,

(31:02):
she can't do that because that's what luke Kang does.
Oh okay, so what should we have she returned to. Oh,
I don't know, a scorpion. She can turn into that.
That makes sense. Scorpions not in the game Scorpion maybe,
But when Scorpion all the UMK three and it just
came out, they were like, fuck it, we're ha no time.
So they did all those little cartoony versions, like Scorpion

(31:23):
turning into a penguin, and there's some in a recent
ketchup video where he showed animalodies. I actually don't remember
at all, Like it was like the the MK trilogy
characters like no even go further beyond m K two,

(31:43):
Raydon turning into electric eels that zap your acid and balls.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
Oh, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
Rain turns into a frog and the frog is tiny,
but then its mouth gets so big it like eats
you alive. I'm like, frogies don't exist.

Speaker 3 (32:05):
Frog frogs makes sense?

Speaker 2 (32:07):
Yeah, that makes a little bit of sense one is
another one. There's another one I forget, but I was like, man,
I never looked up the trilogy exclusive characters and what
they can do, so that was that was nuts to me.
But Rain, now, it seems.

Speaker 4 (32:21):
Rain turning into puffer fish going inside you and blowing
up is a pretty amazing animality.

Speaker 2 (32:27):
Because you could go a much easier route. Oh, it
turns into a shark, or it turns into like, no
puffer fish, So I like where their head's at. So
now you can see Scorpion turns into obviously a scorpion,
Molina turning into a praying mantis, which is a good
who very famously love eating the heads of their mates,

(32:47):
and like all of them. It's it's actually exciting to
see a couple where it's so we don't even know
who turned into what, Like there's just a gorilla on screen, Like,
who's turning into a gorilla?

Speaker 1 (32:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (32:56):
I think the hippopotamus is supposed to be Garris because
the hippopotamus's eyes look like Garrison's eyes something like that.

Speaker 4 (33:03):
By the way, shut guess another realm crew having to
fully animate and render realistic as fuck looking animals. This
is not something that to that level of detail happens
in many games, Like you'll come across a bear or
something like that, and it's like some random bear in
a forest, and it isn't properly rendered super well, Like

(33:24):
these are insanely, insanely highly detailed animals, and that doesn't
happen a ton in this industry outside of like Monster
Hunter's ship to that level of fidelity.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
Yeah, And in the same ketchup video, he found a
clip of I believe it was John Vogel, but an
old school MK member that said, well, when we move
to three D, it's really you can't just make a
character morph into an animal easily, so you have to
use like a puff of smoke or some trick. So
that's where they show one of scorpions weirder fatalities in

(33:57):
MK four when he just turns into a scorpion and
this's a big dumb puff of smoke, Like that's that's
obviously the same smoke effect copy and pasted a million times,
same thing for lu Kang's three D dragon fatality. Right,
So to see slowed down versions of Molina like like
anamorphine into a mantis like that is a ton of work.

(34:21):
And the animalodies I believe are free. That'll be your
free update to anybody that has the game. Uh so, i'man.

Speaker 4 (34:29):
You're following the exact same roadmap that Mortal Kombat eleven
did with the successive aftermas, like the friendship friendships were free,
you know, mm hmm, so.

Speaker 2 (34:39):
A lot of stuff there. And like Max you said earlier,
it's coming out September, so pretty much one year after
the game. Wait, no, it's no, Wait, it's coming out September.
So this September. Yes, it's not next September.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
Okay, this is this is coming out in just over
a month. Dude. It's crazy.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
It's crazy.

Speaker 4 (34:58):
It's like right around the and and it's three characters
right around the corner.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
Right, and then the guests are later throughout the year probably, but.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
Like the full playing the full story mode for this
stuff soon. I don't even think we have a date
on the Teken story. Do we have a date on
the tech and story mode thing?

Speaker 2 (35:17):
I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (35:18):
I don't think so.

Speaker 4 (35:18):
Like Hey Hachi, I'm assuming that Hey Hachi release date
whenever that does drop, is probably gonna come with the
story update or the.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
Last character after Hey Hachi.

Speaker 4 (35:30):
Which would be that would be something my presumption, I mean,
if we're getting into that chat too, my presumption was
that the last character was going to be unstory related
because it's like, well, hey, Hachi's like the ultimate returning
tech and guest character, and he's obviously the main headlining
bad guy of the new story mode.

Speaker 1 (35:47):
So if there's another.

Speaker 4 (35:48):
Character after that that adds to the story, it has
to be something really fucking important, or it's going to
be the guest Pachi think that's possibility, true ogre.

Speaker 3 (35:58):
That you would think that, But don't forget about Street
feat of five where they did gil Sef.

Speaker 1 (36:06):
That was for a really good reason though.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
That was because Street Fighter six mad delayed internally and
they had there's always a bad US season of Street
Fighter characters.

Speaker 2 (36:15):
If Luke had been like second to last or third
to last, he would have gone down a lot better.
Abou him being the final final character was always like
a rough move. I know why they did it.

Speaker 3 (36:24):
I know, yeah, because I know Max you were like saying,
it's like key Oh, I'm like, I'm thinking like Dmitri
for Vampire. I'm like, yeah, he's like aspiration of guest character,
guest character.

Speaker 4 (36:33):
Bro I was wait, I was so early on that,
Like that took me four more fucking years to happen,
and then it happened and it wasn't Key. Oh it
was Terry. But I was so fucking I was way
too early on that shit.

Speaker 2 (36:47):
Staying on the Mortal Kombat stuff, I'm sure at least
one or both of you saw that since WB and
Discovery merged in twenty twenty two had the complete opposite effect.
It became a huge design and they've lost billions and
billions of dollars.

Speaker 1 (37:02):
Good for them, So.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
Maybe maybe canceling movies when they're done is maybe.

Speaker 1 (37:09):
Not the best idea billionaires.

Speaker 2 (37:12):
Yeah, yeah, Zoslav good stuff. But he went on record
recently saying, well, we're looking to do some things with
our gaming division now, including selling them, which I thought,
and I think most people thought, like, oh, please just
sell them. But it seems like there's some sort of
clarification earlier today, this being Thursday, and it seems like

(37:36):
they're more interested in licensing out the ips rather than
directly publishing them themselves. So the most minimal risk while
still retaining like a profit on them, so licensing them
out to other publishers to possibly like you'll be the
one to publish a new Mortal Kombat or a new

(37:57):
you know, DC game, but we still retain those rights
or whatever. I really hope it's just selling them. But
upon further reflection, who would possibly buy Mortal Kombat? There's
not that many like viable parties, and even the ones
that would be, it's like I would not like that's

(38:17):
jumping out of the frying pennon into the fire type situation,
Like I would not want EA to buy Mortal Kombat,
for example. I really wouldn't want Microsoft or Sony to
do it, just because I don't know if they'd keep
it exclusive or whatnot. And then it's like the possibility
would would a Japanese company even buy Mortal Kombat? I

(38:38):
don't think it would.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
I don't think Jesse's company would at.

Speaker 2 (38:42):
All, even ones with like good American like sales, like
let's say Capcom or even Namco. It's just like they
want to make money in their home country as well,
and like Mortal Kombat has literally been a non entity
since the start. Justin were you able to find out
did Mortal Kombat actually come out in Japan at all?

Speaker 3 (39:02):
So a lot of people were saying they've seen it before.
But the thing is, my friend who works in the
arcade business, he just said, they never made like candy
cabs for Mortal Kombat, so they had to export the
actual like cabins that we have in America. So it
was actually what they showed in High Score Girl where

(39:22):
they was like, I'm like, oh, that's an American cabinet
like we did. That's not like that in Japan. He
confirmed that that was a cabinet that in old Japan
arcades had.

Speaker 2 (39:32):
That must be seeing a gigantic cab like that where
you can't sit down. That must be like when someone
sees a candy cab in America, they're like, oh cool,
so exotic, Oh man, this is so normal and I
can't wait. And then when they see this gigantic, gross
Mortal cabinet with the Johnny Cager work on this side,

(39:53):
they must be like, oh my god, so fancy. I
feel like, you know, the thing of the world there.
But yeah, so I do you remember hearing on Mortal
Kombat one, Yeah, would would be exported, but beyond that,
I don't. I don't think they ever did it again.
Like Mortal Kombat two came out unless unless an arcade
operator or a game center operator like specifically said no,

(40:14):
we need Mortal Kombat too. So that's pretty funny. But like,
do you see any companies actually, just like, do you
see any any ones that would viably be like, yeah,
I could see them publishing a new Mortal Kombat. There's
only one I can think of.

Speaker 3 (40:30):
Yeah, you put the name on the coffin. I feel
like Microsoft would be an entity that would take Mortal Kombat.

Speaker 4 (40:37):
They're the only one. Like long story, sure, they're the
only one. And here's the problem. It will never happen
because they're not buying shit anytime soon. They're just laying
people off to afford the activision buy that costs them
way too much money.

Speaker 2 (40:50):
They're shutting down shit.

Speaker 4 (40:51):
Yeah, they're doing the exact opposite, Like this was, this
is now a completely different Microsoft. Their ass drops seventy
billion dollars a bit too fast, and it's not making
them a ton of money really quick. So they have
to figure out how to make money off of seventy
billion dollars a seventy billion dollar investment.

Speaker 1 (41:08):
So no, if anything, Sony.

Speaker 2 (41:12):
I was gonna say it because Mortal Koma is so
hyper realistic motion capture like it fits Sony's.

Speaker 1 (41:18):
Sony's brain mL.

Speaker 2 (41:21):
I like, I think that wouldn't be too bad, but
I just I don't know yet if Sony would make
that exclusive or not. I mean, they did it with
Street Fighter five out of Capcom's desperation at that time.
I was thinking possibly Rockstar two K just because it
fits with them as well. But I mean that's not
even a great solution either, because you know they they

(41:44):
their upper management has made some really weird decisions in
the last couple of years, so it's not great almost
anywhere else. But it's like WB's super upper management and
crazy aggressive monetization has like overtime made Mortal Kombat worse
in those respects. Like Mortal Kombat nine totally fine, and

(42:06):
it's like Mortal Kombat X fatality tokens then Mortal Kombat
eleven the grind getting all the all the resources and
buying all those packs of resources just to grind out
all that shit and justice too, like an m K one.
It's it's stuff that it's like definitely comes from the

(42:26):
publisher level, and it'd be nice to get a Mortal
con I would say Devolver Digital, but They're like, it
has to be digitized actors, you have to go back
to that, Like, that's the only way we'll be publishing
that under our budget. I'd love to see that personally,
but it's like, I don't think so.

Speaker 4 (42:45):
The big Sony, the challenge with Mortal Kombat is that
the franchise is too big. So do you do you
think that more? The Mortal Kombat franchise in any way,
which is probably gonna come with movie rights and all
that kind of stuff, is gonna be distribt we did
for anything less than like three billion dollars, No one's
gonna buy that shit, dude, Like W and WB will

(43:07):
not budge on it. WB wouldn't even put out their
own fucking finished movies, uh, which because of marketing budget,
they won't budge on that shit. So the Mortal Kombat's
got a problem. It's too big.

Speaker 2 (43:20):
Yeah, buying the whole franchise, But if they're to sub
license it to another publisher to just publish that particular game,
that is sort of maybe. But even then I don't
know who would actually publish it. Would Sony be like, yeah,
we'll publish it, get one exclusive game out of it,
But it's still WB's. It's like, it's like when Disney
bought all those studios and made Disney Interactive and then

(43:43):
it all fell apart and Disney Infinity stopped selling that,
and then they said let's stop this and that kind
and that's just license it out too, right, it does.

Speaker 4 (43:52):
It's another publisher to like, hey, we need you to
budget a Mortal Kombat game, clearly a really expensive triple
A game, right, we need you to budget that.

Speaker 1 (44:00):
But here's the thing.

Speaker 4 (44:01):
You don't get to keep all the money you're you're
just we're just publishing it out. We're just we're just
giving you the licensing. So you, oh, what's a ton
of money on top of spending the money like that
seems like a WB kind of deal that nobody's going
to take.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
But if it's Mortal Kombat, like out of all things, like,
you'll still make money, I guess is the idea for sure?

Speaker 1 (44:22):
Oh no, I think you will.

Speaker 4 (44:24):
But but there's the problem is MK one exists and
guaranteed money is no longer there.

Speaker 2 (44:31):
Yeah, but yeah, we'll see there's been no other like
real developments on this because this is just like breaking
like today as of today. So you know no other.
I mean, when you think about it, all of WB's
things in the last like little while, Like apparently the
gaming division is down forty three percent due to primarily

(44:55):
just a suicide squad Justice League Suicide Squad to Justice
League on over last year. So it's a huge, huge
dip because you know, the game costs like two hundred
million dollars something crazy like that. So we'll see. I
would personally just like to experience a new Mortal Kombat
game that is not maybe hopefully heavily as monetized as

(45:15):
WB has kind of pushed it down. But we'll see.
Are you guys, I don't think just is in the
position do it? Maybe you are? But the two x
KO Alpha lab is kicking off two day as of Thursday,
or are you guys involved with that at all? I
did not get I got a code.

Speaker 1 (45:33):
I just got a code.

Speaker 2 (45:34):
Actually that makes sense, That makes sense.

Speaker 4 (45:37):
But I haven't put any time into the game really.
I played it like on stream for a couple seconds
during EVO, but I was like interviewing and trying to
show off mechanics and do everything. I didn't get to
really play the game. I don't played the game in
like over a year. So it's been like a year
and like several days, so there's I know a lot
of other creatives have been in behind the scenes playing

(45:57):
stuff like that, but I have not a the The
jump from the old build that I played to the
EVO build was staggering. It was like, whoa, this is
a lot better. Still, it's still Battle for the Grid,
Don't get me wrong. It's still definitely a Power Rangers
Battle for the Grid with like some some new spice,
but it is it is a lot better.

Speaker 2 (46:19):
Power Ranges. Sorry, go ahead, justin I say.

Speaker 3 (46:21):
They did add a auto coombo.

Speaker 1 (46:24):
Fuse, so that's the one I used at EVA Casual people.

Speaker 3 (46:28):
Yeah, autose and I played with Unconcable, one of the
main directors, and yeah, he destroyed me. I didn't even
get a chance to really play.

Speaker 1 (46:37):
You gotta wrap your head around the game, right, You
gotta like, I.

Speaker 3 (46:40):
Need training mode, give me training will for like a
few hours.

Speaker 1 (46:42):
Yeah, and dude did.

Speaker 4 (46:44):
Every single time I played Triple k O, my brain
never acclimates to the control Triple.

Speaker 1 (46:49):
Kou two x KO.

Speaker 4 (46:53):
My brain never acclimates to the button scheme of the game.
It always like l M H tag Special one, Special two,
but you don't act like assists. So my brain is
like all over the goddamn place with that shit.

Speaker 2 (47:06):
Yeah, that really reminds me. I meant to mention this
last time. But when Layton, like gile Win quote Layton
kind of gave his E three rundown. He was just
saying when he was playing Triple Ko, he had gone,
can you guys put in a traditional control scheme as
an option? And they're just like, absolutely no, that is

(47:26):
not happening. And he's like, I can't acclimatize to this easily,
Like this is rough for.

Speaker 4 (47:32):
Me, anybody fighting games for a long time, it will
be weird it.

Speaker 2 (47:37):
And and but I'm assuming it's because everything is intrinsic
to that control scheme that no, we can't just add
an optional like this isn't pro controls and casual controls,
like the game isn't like.

Speaker 3 (47:50):
It's It's funny you mentioned that because I was talking
to James Shen today and he was talking about how
he couldn't do any combos in two x KO because
he keeps trying to do motions. Yep, like he's just
not used to it whatsoever, even though it's like and
that's what I mean. Yeah, he kept trying to do motions.

Speaker 4 (48:08):
Getting your hands to go down to S one and
S two, which are on medium kick heavy kick, and
those being attached to your special attacks.

Speaker 1 (48:18):
Fucked me up the whole time.

Speaker 4 (48:19):
And I kept going to the tag button, which is
on light kick, which is where S normally is in
Marvel three, right, because lmhs this is kind of similar
the whole time. Every single time I would accidentally press
tag thinking I was gonna do a special one or
special two. Every opportunity I've had to play the game,
I've never gotten used to it. I need a training mode, dude,

(48:40):
I have to like rewire my brain it.

Speaker 3 (48:43):
Also, I feel like when they're making these control schemes,
Joysick was probably the least.

Speaker 1 (48:50):
Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (48:51):
Yeah, It's mainly just.

Speaker 1 (48:52):
Like it feels like it makes way more sense on
a pad.

Speaker 3 (48:56):
Yeah, one hundred, So I think that was the main thing.
It's kind of like it hurts, like because I guess
you could button map and stuff, but in terms of default,
it's just like, yeah, this is not it for for
like should just know like Arcastick players, and.

Speaker 2 (49:10):
I think when you want, like, you know, a percentage
of league players to make the jump, and then just
casuals in general. It's like, yeah, if you you know,
build for the for the arcade stick, that's that's gonna
be a huge proposition for some people.

Speaker 3 (49:23):
Yeah, they're gonna keyboard for the most of the time.

Speaker 2 (49:25):
Yeah, every time. I don't know if this guy happened
to you, but like every time I boot up Street
Fighter six when a new characters dropped, I don't know why.
Every time I play online, it just it just reverts back,
just reverts back to modern controls every time. I don't
know why. And every time I realize that, I don't
realize that they're on, and I start up online and
I'm playing against a friend, and it's always for me

(49:46):
like it's putting a square peg into a circle hole,
and I'm just like, why isn't the thing's not working
because I'm doing commands too. Until I'm like the idiot
that I am, I go, oh, it's yeah, there, I
see the I see the big sea over there.

Speaker 4 (50:00):
The accessibility of the game, and that's that's exactly what
two x KO is doing too. When you first fire
it up and you get in impressed buttons, you're on
Pulse fews. So and to be real, it's what Fatal
Fury needs to do. Fatal Fury has this problem where
no one's going to ever see supers and ship, so
we need that that game needs to start in its

(50:22):
default like simplified mode or you know what they call it.
I forget what they even call it in Fatal Fury,
I always forget, but that that can needs that more
than anything.

Speaker 2 (50:30):
Right now, it's called what justin I think it's called
simple ye.

Speaker 1 (50:36):
I think there it might be something else because simple.

Speaker 2 (50:39):
It should be called it should be called first Gear.

Speaker 4 (50:43):
Mode something like that, but right now that isn't on
by default in Fatal Fury.

Speaker 2 (50:50):
I think Classic controls could be called Pro Gear Spec
one Megashock mode.

Speaker 3 (50:58):
Come on.

Speaker 2 (51:00):
But yeah, like I'm looking forward to like seeing do
you guys know if like footage is allowed from this
alpha test or anything, like can.

Speaker 1 (51:07):
People just streaming it right now?

Speaker 2 (51:09):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (51:09):
I wasn't sure open game for everybody, I think.

Speaker 2 (51:14):
So we can all absolutely hope to see some footage
of this next thing. Because Terry Boguard is going to
be playable in Street Fighter six at Games Calm, which
is only a few weeks away, like two weeks away
or something, so that surprised me. Likely he couldn't have
been playable at EVO.

Speaker 5 (51:33):
Come on, a lot, A lot of shit happens in
a month, true, true, but excited to see it's like
hopefully in game.

Speaker 2 (51:46):
Just doesn't have the Dennis the Menace face anymore, I
don't know.

Speaker 1 (51:53):
Make his mouth bigger, give him freckles.

Speaker 2 (51:57):
Like yeah, make his eyes even like a creepy.

Speaker 4 (52:01):
Terry's gonna have the exact same shit that Ken has,
where Ken looks like a fucking weirdo in most of
his shots, and then from his like battleshots, his super
cinematic shots and his wind shots when he like wins
and does this shit, he looks fucking awesome. It's like
fucking awesome, This motherfucker the best can ever. And then

(52:23):
most of the other shots from like cinematics, from like
story mode, shit looks like a big, homeless weirdo. So
this is history but six thing when they want their
characters to look damn good, they really do look good.
But Terry is in his introduction World Tour cinematic, which
doesn't have the spice. It's just wait for Terry's victory

(52:43):
screen and that'll be what every buddy references and it's
gonna look fucking amazing.

Speaker 2 (52:48):
Or his game faces in the loading screen.

Speaker 1 (52:52):
Yes, that kind of shit.

Speaker 2 (52:54):
Yeah, but just like moving it with a control stick.
Like you know, there's some funny faces in there, but
most of them still look cool, like you know, they
look well modeled, so that'd be interesting stuff.

Speaker 1 (53:03):
That stuff always looks good on the whole roster. You know.

Speaker 4 (53:06):
It's like the in game character face that they use
for story mode stuff is doesn't look particularly great. There's
like different models of faces for the characters. I swear
to God, so so Terry will look good. Just wait
for supers and is faces and ending screen.

Speaker 2 (53:22):
Let's let's put a bet down, gentlemen. Since gameplay is
going to actually be shown, that means a gameplay trailer
must be shown at some point. Be weird to have
full gameplay of them and then later have the you know,
gameplay trailer. And in the gameplay trailers they always show
the second costume. Now, will it be Garro or.

Speaker 3 (53:45):
I don't think it's Garro. I don't think it's what
do we think it's going to be? I feel like
Garro's costume? Three?

Speaker 1 (53:52):
Okay, so I mean what I was saying, what costume too, because.

Speaker 2 (53:55):
Two is always nostalgic costume.

Speaker 3 (53:58):
That's what's a just a brand new outfit.

Speaker 2 (54:01):
No, but but costume two is always labeled as nostalgic.

Speaker 3 (54:05):
I know, I know.

Speaker 4 (54:09):
It looks he's we have like denim Terry again from
KOF fourteen and then Kof's classic and Gawro Terry does not.
We have to come up with a new capcom Terry, right,
is what you're saying.

Speaker 3 (54:20):
It might be it might be just a cap calm Terry.

Speaker 2 (54:24):
No. No, to be fair, it's not always nostalgic because
new characters in Street Fighter six don't have a nostalgic
costume because they're new. So it's like you know, Aki
or Kimberly, like they have the more streetwear stuff, right,
So I could see them maybe not doing that. But
at the same time, it's like like Max said, like

(54:45):
it's got to be Garo and Terry.

Speaker 1 (54:47):
He doesn't have many other designs.

Speaker 3 (54:49):
What if Terry is wearing Andy's outfit, but.

Speaker 2 (54:59):
It's like the no, it's it's just straight up Terry's outfit,
or it's the femme Terry outfit there.

Speaker 4 (55:05):
And there's the answer, and there is the answer. Costume
should be S and K Heroines, Terry for Terry, Yes
for Terry, like he's.

Speaker 2 (55:15):
Yes, absolutely yeah you no, no, no, it's just Terry.
He's just wearing the Daisy Dukes.

Speaker 4 (55:20):
No no, no, no no, I mean actually got transformed into
a chick.

Speaker 2 (55:25):
I want that. Yeah, And like, so canon wise, what
happens there? Does Dmitri come out and doing the midlight
list every time?

Speaker 4 (55:33):
No, it's Sandy McFox a lot, whatever the hell his
name was from kof fourteen.

Speaker 2 (55:37):
Oh, Sandy McFox a lot. Yeah, that's the that's the
guy Alice, Alice, Alice, you mean right Alice? Oh no,
Alice Sandy Oh uh the shadow guy.

Speaker 1 (55:49):
Yeah, Sandy McFox a lot.

Speaker 2 (55:51):
Yeah, yeah, I thought I thought you meant Alice, the
Fatal Fury fangirl from fourteen.

Speaker 1 (55:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (55:57):
The whole story of that that S and K Heroines
game or whatever is because of.

Speaker 2 (56:01):
Sandy McFox a lot. Yeah, just a big perv or whatever.
What what's the what's the name of the sand guy
from kof fourteen?

Speaker 1 (56:09):
Well, I thought it was Sandy McFox a lot. I
think we're just think we're.

Speaker 2 (56:12):
Just supree something like that, I.

Speaker 3 (56:16):
Know what you're talking about. Cookery, cookery.

Speaker 1 (56:19):
There you go, Sandy, Mickfox a lot, a lot.

Speaker 2 (56:24):
So okay, So yeah, looking forward to that gameplay stuff.

Speaker 3 (56:30):
They also they also announced a demo Terry Demos coming
out to really shut up, yeah, Terry Bogart demo. Later
the event helps reported that there's gonna be a demo
playable for Terry Bogart.

Speaker 1 (56:44):
Holy shit, I didn't know that, but like.

Speaker 2 (56:46):
At games Com or something that anyone can do.

Speaker 3 (56:49):
I think it's something that we download.

Speaker 4 (56:52):
I mean that games Calm that would make sense, but
an actual character demo would be something else.

Speaker 2 (56:58):
Because that'd be the first time they were even doing it.
Thing remotely like that.

Speaker 3 (57:02):
I mean, they had the Street Fair six demo, but
I think this is like a Terry demo where maybe
you just only play Terry.

Speaker 2 (57:09):
But so then you just download a demo where the
only character is Terry.

Speaker 3 (57:13):
Maybe I don't know, but that's what That's what event
helps did report. So I'm kind of curious on like
when that demo would pop out, maybe after games Cone possibly.

Speaker 2 (57:21):
Okay, I mean I guess like since this is a
pretty momentous, you know, first guest character in like forty
years of street fighter history. Maybe they're just like, we
really want people to check it out. Yeah right, but
yeah no, that's that's nuts. So we'll see if that actually,
like it takes place, because it's still incredible to me.

(57:43):
We missed out on the story last week. Bleach Rebirth
of Souls, which we always assumed was gonna be a
straight up arena fighter, kind of really isn't. It's like
a full three D sword fighting game where everyone's just
zooming in and doing some crazy easy shit. The gameplay
actually looks really sick and has full English vo and

(58:04):
I'm assuming into Japanese as well. But I was like
kind of impressed by this from from the makers of
Cedrin Kagera. I was kind of blown away by this gameplay.
So I have you guys seen it?

Speaker 3 (58:17):
Yeah, I've been watching a lot of the Bleach stuff
just because I'm a fan of Bleach. I So for me,
I'm personally going to get the game just because like
it's for me, it's fan service, But I don't really
expect anything like competitive for it. But yeah, it's just
gonna it's just like one of my favorite animes of
all time. So yeah, I'm going to get it easily.

Speaker 4 (58:36):
Once I saw like what the the default camera angle
was for the game and I favorites player one, I
was like, all right, this is what it is.

Speaker 1 (58:43):
This is like an I didn't even notice.

Speaker 2 (58:45):
I didn't even notice that. I didn't look that looked
pretty even to me. But is there a slight camera
skew on the first player?

Speaker 1 (58:51):
It's it's an arena game.

Speaker 3 (58:53):
Yeah, it might be just like playing that from like online, Like,
if you play online, they probably won't be like that.

Speaker 4 (59:00):
No, no, you won't because you're always going to be favored.
But like the way you have to play the game
would be through split screen.

Speaker 1 (59:07):
Yeah, sure, if it was local.

Speaker 2 (59:08):
Okay, I I kind of see that there is a
slight camera skew that the first player like does have.
It kind of reminds me of a Tournament of Legends on
the Wii pick up to the two people that are
pumping their hands in the air right now, it's neither
Max nor Justin. But so after that, I did want

(59:29):
to talk about this really briefly, is because it's weird.
Street Fighter six is Samba Slam event which kicked off
a little while ago. What is a samba Slam event.
I don't know, it just seems like an excuse to
get Muscle Bomber Slash Saturday Night Slam Masters content in there.
So this makes the first time Muscle Bomber Slash Saturday

(59:50):
Night Slam Masters of the Arcade version is available to play,
since I think the Capcom Arcade Stadium had one of.

Speaker 3 (59:57):
Them, yeah, or k STAM had.

Speaker 2 (59:59):
It, yeah, And like it's I wish these would be
a bit more readily available. I don't know why I
wasn't in the Fighting Game collection or even the Beam
Up collection if you could somehow sqeeze it in there,
even though thematically wouldn't make much sense. But yeah, some
Saturday Night Slam Masters stuff in there. But it's also
some Summer so I don't think they quite knew what

(01:00:20):
they were going to do for the summer event, so
just yeah, yeah, Summer Slam. Maybe they're planning some something
to do with Summer Slam.

Speaker 3 (01:00:26):
It might have been. It just might have been a mash,
I think at that point. And also they're trying to
promote like their sushi collaboration in Japan with Sushiro, which
is a major chain there, and it's really cool because
like I see a lot of Japanese players post their
times at Sushiro and they get like really cool street
Fighter six swags, So I think they're trying to push

(01:00:46):
that in the game, even though like majority of people
probably don't know what, you know.

Speaker 2 (01:00:54):
But I guess, you know, maybe they thought Saturday Night
Slam Masters some people might remember that, so there's like
a little bit for everyone one kind of. I guess.

Speaker 3 (01:01:01):
Yeah, I'd love a character from from Saturday Night Slam
Masters to make their way into Street Fighter.

Speaker 2 (01:01:09):
Yeah, I'll never I'll never forget that rumor from like
years and years ago that yoshinora Ono was going to
release a wrestling fighting game circa like twenty ten, twenty eleven.
It's like one of those capcom rumor mill things like, oh,
he's bringing back Saturday Night Slam Masters, it's gonna have
a bunch of old characters, and it.

Speaker 1 (01:01:28):
Was one of the promises.

Speaker 2 (01:01:33):
He wait, did he actually say this or you.

Speaker 1 (01:01:35):
Just a lump it with Dark Soalkers, right, okay, but
Dark Sockers.

Speaker 2 (01:01:41):
There's these a shred of evidence in here. I'm not
even sure if Ono actually talked about this project or
someone just said, oh, like he's at the head of
this supposedly like put el Farette in there, zangif Alex,
I'm like, yes, I would love that. Iron Like everything
that's a rumor, I'm like, I want that. When it
was gonna be that f Zero and Star Fox game,

(01:02:02):
and I was like, I want that. Never turns out
to be true, and what I really didn't expect to
turn out to be true, much to Max's chagrin, when
he's like in the middle of streaming and I'm like, dude,
Billy Kane has a trailer, go watch it now, and
everyone in chat is like, dude, watch the Billy kay,
And You're like, I'll watch it. I'll watch it. There's

(01:02:23):
lots of time it's just been That's why you're a pro,
That's why you've been in this business for fifteen years.
So yeah, first new or rather old Fatal Fury character
being brought back into the timeline of Garro So he's
very two thousands because remember City of the Wolves takes

(01:02:46):
place in the far far future of two thousand and nine.
So Billy's weird gunner glasses and he doesn't know what
to wear, so he wore something of all of his
eras it's it's pretty cool to see him strangely in
Freeman's stage from Garro just makes it return funny.

Speaker 1 (01:03:07):
Right, So I'm like, wait, this is this is the
old Garro stage here. This is weird.

Speaker 2 (01:03:12):
I'm not sure if there it's like, are they actually
going to have enough stages for each character or it's
it just like these are just locations in second Southtown
where like, you know, no one has their like their
own because we haven't seen one that's like specifically Tarry
maybe the garage, but I think that's more of a
rock thing.

Speaker 3 (01:03:29):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:03:29):
Speaking of which, did you guys know that Rock Howard
is in the City of the Wolves. There's a trailer trail.

Speaker 3 (01:03:37):
I just I just saw that trailer. Was really amazing.

Speaker 1 (01:03:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:03:39):
I played him several times over the past year, and
I would never thought it was real. I thought like, oh,
so this is all bullshit. Oh, but now there's a trailer,
so we're good.

Speaker 2 (01:03:48):
I get it. Big upsta hell Pockets for being like, listen,
we know he's in the game, but they want to, like,
you know, do the full trailers for everybody.

Speaker 1 (01:03:58):
They did show off some pretty interesting shit.

Speaker 4 (01:04:01):
There was special to special cancels that I did not
think of where Rock does a jumping overhead and they
canceled the jumping overhead ex into his ex double air fireball,
and I was like, didn't think of that.

Speaker 1 (01:04:13):
That's new to me.

Speaker 2 (01:04:15):
Fair enough. I one of my like very few criticism
playing the game is when I was talking to the
S and K guys, I was like, ah, some hitting
gear level threes. They look a little I don't know,
lick unfinished, and like Rocks is one of them. It's
just because when he does the power geyser, like you
don't see the.

Speaker 1 (01:04:31):
Characters because it doesn't end on an unactual hit.

Speaker 2 (01:04:34):
It doesn't end on actual hit, but you don't actually
see the character that is being hit by the move.
You just see the geyser, and it's like it'd be
cool to see them like going and like end on
a bit more of an impact. And it just kind
of feels a little off, especially considering it's like one
of the main characters. But I saw that still the
same in the trailer versus.

Speaker 1 (01:04:53):
When way yeah looking at a tornado.

Speaker 2 (01:04:59):
Yeah, don't see like the damage being done. Versus Buster Wolf,
which will, by the the game's release, will end the
world when it finally connects because it's getting bigger and
bigger each time. We talked about a little while ago,
So Billy, it's cool to see him. At the same time,
it's like, you know, I'm assuming my will be the

(01:05:20):
last character they show. They got to make people.

Speaker 3 (01:05:23):
Wait, mine's not coming.

Speaker 1 (01:05:28):
It's not in the game.

Speaker 3 (01:05:30):
She's she's a sweer six character.

Speaker 2 (01:05:31):
Now, yeah, Terry's and Terry's and Street Fighter's sixth character.

Speaker 4 (01:05:36):
By that's no trailer yet, dude, Terry trailer, So he's not.

Speaker 2 (01:05:45):
Remember Justin's specifically, S and k almost went out of
business because KF twelve did not have My in.

Speaker 1 (01:05:52):
It and.

Speaker 2 (01:05:55):
It was no min no buy was trending worldwide.

Speaker 1 (01:06:00):
That was the reason specifically.

Speaker 3 (01:06:02):
But we got Yeah, we got Miss b though, miss speaking,
Miss speaking Carrie.

Speaker 2 (01:06:08):
I'd love if she could. I'd love it if she could.

Speaker 3 (01:06:11):
I don't see that counter. She hits you with her act.

Speaker 2 (01:06:15):
Literally, I've seen it.

Speaker 3 (01:06:17):
She just perks it up. It's like bam, it rocks, like.

Speaker 2 (01:06:21):
Right, But that's the a of t NA. You need
the tea part two, which may is there to provide.

Speaker 3 (01:06:27):
Ah, okay, I you spin all right, it's it's.

Speaker 2 (01:06:31):
It's it's a two pronged attack like somebody else.

Speaker 3 (01:06:36):
I'm gonna let you cook, all right.

Speaker 2 (01:06:38):
But yeah, so so this is the first we've seen
of an aged up character that we haven't seen in
Garo's timeline. So yeah, I want to see my uh
uh Andy and Joe maybe a few others. So it
was nice to get a little peak at it. And
it's weird hearing hearing Billy with an actual English accent
in English outside of like what kof Maximum Impact two?

(01:07:03):
I think?

Speaker 4 (01:07:03):
You know?

Speaker 3 (01:07:04):
Then you know what was crazy about that Billy Kane trailer.
They released it literally a few days after EVO, a
few days like what, And I'm just like something, yeah,
And I'm just like, why would you just release it
during EVO?

Speaker 2 (01:07:18):
Because because, yeah, because we've had EVO announcements or big
tournament announcements where they actually show more than one character.
It's like Tekan does that often, right, So yeah, why
not just show him right after Kevin Ryan?

Speaker 3 (01:07:30):
I guess I guess maybe they're pushing SBC like hard,
That's why I guess.

Speaker 2 (01:07:35):
Yeah, that's true. And this will also total up City
of the Wolves. Fifty one percent of all the characters
are blonde now on the PRIs Roster, Yeah, Terry Rock,
Billy Kevin Jenny.

Speaker 1 (01:07:53):
Five two.

Speaker 3 (01:07:55):
Yeah, blonde, you know, blonde eyes, blonde hair, blue eyes
is just too strong.

Speaker 2 (01:08:01):
It's because it's all Americans, right, my marketability Billy Billy
as like, so many characters wind up being you or
being modded into you. Uh so kind of final thing, Uh? Max?
Do you have you been spending most of your adult

(01:08:21):
life working on a particular project in the last couple
of months.

Speaker 4 (01:08:24):
I haven't slept on about it. Yeah, I just stay
awake all night. All I do is I I just
have lunch breaks and minor family breaks.

Speaker 1 (01:08:32):
Do I look tired? I feel tired.

Speaker 2 (01:08:35):
You don't look tired.

Speaker 1 (01:08:36):
Yeah, thank you. That means a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:08:38):
You look awake.

Speaker 1 (01:08:41):
So what are we talking about?

Speaker 2 (01:08:44):
Marvel VSUS, cacm infin Mbia.

Speaker 1 (01:08:46):
Oh yeah that I'm very tired.

Speaker 2 (01:08:49):
I gave you a heads up on this too.

Speaker 1 (01:08:51):
I'm very tired.

Speaker 3 (01:08:52):
You are tired?

Speaker 2 (01:08:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:08:53):
So yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:08:54):
By the time this podcast goes out, uh, you know,
things will be revealed. So I'll just give you some
mega spoilers. We're having a demo at the time of
this recording tomorrow Friday at eight, and we have been
cramming over the past week. I've been pretty much been
cramming ever since I got back from EVO for this demo,

(01:09:15):
because I really really wanted to do a pre Evo
demo and just wasn't working out. And then I had
to focus heavily on EVO and that was taken up
a big part of my mindscape. And then I got
sick when I came back, so I spent most of
my time sick working on this stuff and not streaming.
I've down to like four to five days streaming a
week on average now, which has been not what I

(01:09:36):
usually do, just because I need time, Like I just can't.

Speaker 1 (01:09:40):
I need time to do this stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:09:42):
So anyway, I've been finalizing characters so Infinite and Beyond's
going to get a big demo almost I think every
character but three or four. I have done a personal
pass in Unreal Engine and done mega changes for every
single character, where it's like our artists do one side

(01:10:03):
where they like flatten out the characters and get them
to not look weirdly hyper realistic, give them a flat
tone base, and then I take it into Unreal and
I start fixing all the problems because Shadow and all
this stuff and lighting and rim lighting and everything. Characters
mouths are just glowing. So I learned how to do
all that. I've been working an Unreal editor for the

(01:10:24):
past like month and a half, almost two months now,
and in photoshop directly, and it's such a painstaking process.

Speaker 1 (01:10:30):
It's insane.

Speaker 4 (01:10:31):
Every single part of like, like I said, every character
but four right now, I've literally handcrafted, like and finely
tuned every part of their visual element over the past
month and made it like, oh so their colors you
get it in the game, and they don't look like
the character yet. It's like making my nex was either

(01:10:52):
too dark or too light and all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:10:54):
And so can I stop you there, because it's like
the screenshot of X is like that is.

Speaker 1 (01:11:02):
X thank you, like so.

Speaker 2 (01:11:04):
Perfectly done in three D, like that looks like it
should be from an official game, thank you, and the
infinite version of X just the vanilla one, like all
of his components are there. He just looks wrong.

Speaker 1 (01:11:16):
He looks wrong, that's exactly, and this is so.

Speaker 4 (01:11:18):
Perfect that and that's sort of my as like director
slash Art, director of this whole project. That's sort of
my mindscape is that I want to bring this game
back to a visual element that remember reminds you of
NBC one and Marvel Superheroes versus.

Speaker 1 (01:11:32):
Street Fighter, not X Men versus Street Fighter.

Speaker 4 (01:11:34):
It's kind of different because MBC one in MSHVSF have
these visual elements that I really like, so we're trying
to keep it in that space. And also the game
is kind of similar to those you know NBC Eyes
of TWOV two. Yeah, those are back in the TV
two era, so I think it sort of a naturally fits.
But yeah, X is a good example, and it's like
finding X and I this is me for every single

(01:11:55):
Finding Spencer, Finding Jetta, finding Strider. It's like we get
these characters and you get him in game and it's
just like something, Yeah, they're good, don't get me wrong.
The work that like Foods and Move Cartoons and Zeno,
who are the main artists on the project, the textra artists,
they get the character in there, and once it goes
through all the goddamn engine post processing that we can't
entirely control, they just look different in game. So that's

(01:12:19):
my job is that. Okay, now I got to go
back and finally tune. I'm editing a PSD, I'm uploading,
editing and PSD uploading. I do that for about twelve
hours and then I found X and it was like,
we got them, We got them, and you know, and
then it's like finally tuning details at drawing lines on
the characters in spots where they should be, giving him
his anime eyes back, all that kind of stuff, masking

(01:12:41):
out goofy, like shading that's happening under his helmet and
around his head and his chin, just because this game
was not designed to run cell shading. That has been
my job over the past month. So it's gotten to
a point where it's really cool where it's like, you know,
I understand the engine enough and have been working enough
in this where Strider's scarf was just disappearing one day

(01:13:03):
and I was like, what.

Speaker 3 (01:13:04):
The fuck happened?

Speaker 4 (01:13:05):
I have that, it was like, and then as soon
as we go up, it would just vanish, and I'm like,
where the fuck did it go? So something to do
with our outlines and stuff, because we if you guys
are not tuning in tomorrow, just get ready for a
video that follows up later. The game looks insanely different
because we completely rewrote how our outline and inner outline

(01:13:25):
process works on our render plate, so it is very
different and it took a long time for us to
get to the spot, so stay tuned. No one's actually
seen the game really look like this running in motion
yet and we have not recorded video of it. So
that's one thing we're showing off big visual changes and

(01:13:45):
most of the roster is ready to go. Next thing
we're showing off Interface Battle UI is done. Art Battle
UI is about ninety five percent. There's some elements that
need to be fixed, like the fight, the ko that
kind of stuff, but the functionality we have Function UI
with new elements on the bottom of the screen and
the top of the screen. All the art isn't done

(01:14:05):
because we have new character portraits and all that kind
of stuff, but we'll be showing that off a functional,
brand new UI for NBCi, And on top of that,
we have we have some surprises. Captain America for and
Rocket Raccoon are from Captain America, not Marvel versus Capcom Infinite.

(01:14:25):
They their models have been scrapped.

Speaker 2 (01:14:28):
But because Captain America's Infinite model is unsalvageable, I don't
care what trash you cannot fix that model's than what.

Speaker 4 (01:14:41):
It was a decision we made very early on, and
we were we were scouring the internet for decent cap models,
and luckily there's another game that is very helpful that
is close enough in art style, and it's.

Speaker 2 (01:14:54):
I was going to say, I want to guess, and
I was going to say, like Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

Speaker 4 (01:14:58):
Too, it's actually Marvel Ultimate Alliance three that that is
the answer. So it's there's only two games. It's pretty
much Fortnite or MUA three.

Speaker 2 (01:15:05):
So the problem because they're all sell shaded, right, their
models are cel shaded in that game.

Speaker 4 (01:15:09):
No, we're kind of the same way that we are.
So long, long story short, Yeah, we get it and
they look like shit, and it's like, oh well great,
so the model saw us to go through the exact
same process. Also, their textures are one fourth the size
they need to be, so that all needs to get
completely redrawn. And I ran into a problem with Thor
where he was just looking fucking weird and I just

(01:15:31):
couldn't get his texture mapping to work correctly and it
wasn't wrapping around the Polly's right, And I bumped up
the resolution size cause all these other problems on the rig.

Speaker 1 (01:15:40):
But I was like, oh I fixed it. Oh fuck.

Speaker 4 (01:15:42):
So Thor started looking pretty good. Same thing with Cap,
same thing with Rocket Raccoon. And I wasn't the person
doing the rigging. I'm not a modeler. I don't do rigging.
That was on Zeno, that was on Moo cartoons and foos.
They're the ones that are doing that. They get they
get the character like in the engine functioning, and then
it's up to me to like find all the crazy stuff,

(01:16:03):
like all their eyelids are fucked up, like so we're
still polishing all that kind of stuff. I have to
identify all that figure out why it's doing that.

Speaker 1 (01:16:12):
But yeah, like.

Speaker 4 (01:16:13):
They're looking pretty good. I got I want you guys
to see Captain America. I'm really curious how people feel
like on Classic CAP because we're going I'm going back
to old school capcom colors, and that is that is
a goal. We're not We're getting the fuck away from
movie colors, which is what Marvel three and Marvel Infinite did.

(01:16:35):
So I'm to fuck away from movie colors.

Speaker 2 (01:16:37):
Because classic CAP is the most vibrant of blues. It's yeah, okay.

Speaker 4 (01:16:42):
So those three characters are completely new models Rocket Raccoon,
Captain America and four and maybe more in the future,
but we'll see the uh. Outside of that, we have
new music. Alex McCalla did a new Ultron theme for

(01:17:02):
us and a new Captain Marvel theme, completely new, nice
and they're fucking amazing. Little V as Joy Roster and
Little v Our main menu, main theme for Beyond, and
most of the Character Select theme. So we didn't we
need some transitional elements in the Character Select theme like

(01:17:23):
a starting bridge and an outro that leads into the
versus screen, but the theme itself is compiled and will
be in the demo to show off.

Speaker 2 (01:17:32):
When did Little v start up?

Speaker 1 (01:17:34):
About a month and a half ago.

Speaker 2 (01:17:36):
So about a month and a half ago. I remember
asking him like, hey, can you do a little thing.
He's like, I'm just starting I'm just starting a thing
with Max, and I go, okay, yeah, let me know
when you're done. And I was thinking, I wonder what
that was. And I did not.

Speaker 1 (01:17:49):
Think it was make his videos and stuff all the
time too. Yeah you know, so.

Speaker 2 (01:17:53):
Sure, but I wondered what it was. But I didn't
think even though you would like publicly said like, you know,
I'm working on this. I didn't think it was Marvel. Yeah,
very good call.

Speaker 1 (01:18:01):
Yeah. Also, we have some stage updates.

Speaker 4 (01:18:04):
I don't know if we have a new stage that
is being at as of the game, and I don't
know if it's going to be in a presentable format
just yet, but an actual brand new stage to Marvel
versus Capcom infinite. These things are fucking hard. And here's
the problem with stages. They're huge, like we're talking like
because hundreds of megabytes, like note hundreds of gigabytes, but

(01:18:26):
like several gigabytes, and where it's a problem with a
mod where it's like, oh now that is two thirds
the size of our whole mod. Our mod was like
a gig before, and it jumps to three gigs with
one stage. It's like, okay, so this is kind of
a problem. So anyway, we have an update to our
Classics Classic training stage, which is like a Marvel two style.

(01:18:50):
It looks a lot better now and we might be
able to show off a new stage, but I don't,
I don't know. I think that might be I think
that might be it. I'm probably forgetting several things, but
oh yeah, our our two v two mode, we're gonna
take it online through PARSI I'm gonna let people play it.
So uh oh oh, I'm forgetting about gameplay changes. Oh shit,

(01:19:14):
So there's there's several gameplay changes and refinements. We're not
we're not turning this into a new game. I like
Marvel Infinite, right, so we're just making Marvel Infinite smarter.

Speaker 1 (01:19:23):
That's the whole point.

Speaker 4 (01:19:24):
We're just like changing tag tag is two frames slower,
which allows it to actually be punished in some situations.
But if you're anybody else that's played the game, you'll
not notice any difference. Nice and uh, Thanos has gained
the entire power of the Infinity Gauntlet. That's all I'm saying. Ooh,
so hype, That's all I'll say.

Speaker 2 (01:19:46):
That seems dangerous. Don't give him all that power.

Speaker 1 (01:19:49):
You shouldn't have that much power, right, don't worry.

Speaker 3 (01:19:51):
They work too well if a mid not a Marvel game.

Speaker 1 (01:19:54):
So that's all I'll say.

Speaker 4 (01:19:57):
So, yeah, that's our our, Our demo's gonna be going
a say, there'll be a big YouTube compilation in the
near future.

Speaker 2 (01:20:03):
I seem seems seems like I don't know, you know,
in the future, maybe you should like, I don't know,
make more fighting games, like make that your career. I
don't you seem to know you seem to know some
stuff about it.

Speaker 4 (01:20:14):
I don't know if this is this is so much time, Matt,
this is so and.

Speaker 2 (01:20:19):
Having having worked on a game myself and in a
much smaller capacity than what you're doing, I can I
can emphasize.

Speaker 4 (01:20:26):
Bro, twenty four people. We actually got a credits listing.
Twenty four people are working on this thing, and I'm
managing technically all of it.

Speaker 2 (01:20:35):
I thought it was like six or seven at the most.
Damn twenty four.

Speaker 4 (01:20:40):
Yeah, we have we have a credit that actually bugs me.
That event hubs posted about this and they said two
people and like Max is helping with social media, and
I'm like, there are some misconceptions going on here, like
this this is the Rinn was.

Speaker 1 (01:20:54):
The person that started the project.

Speaker 4 (01:20:55):
She made the editor and I was working with her
to like, oh, can we do something at this. But
that was like the first few weeks. So the last
month two and a half months have been a massive
group effort across the scope of all stages, music, audio, art,
like all this stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:21:13):
Management.

Speaker 4 (01:21:14):
We literally have managers because there's too many people, budget allocation.

Speaker 1 (01:21:20):
Bro it's crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:21:22):
Well, that's why you know, having a stream like this
is good because you can get all the information out
in one like handy spot and like anyone can watch
it and then hopefully those the credit list would be
updated from then on whenever there's stories about this. Have
you thought about possibly remastering the Infinity Stones physical versions
and shipping them out to people? I think you can

(01:21:42):
handle that.

Speaker 1 (01:21:44):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (01:21:45):
Uh, to everybody that bought MVCI, I am going to
go to their house and physically shit a brand new
Infinity Gem. But it'll be anywhere sick gems per person,
perfectly clean, perfectly shiny, beautiful Infinity Gems. They're not going

(01:22:06):
to look like circle eggs. They're going to be rocky
and sort of like Gravelly.

Speaker 1 (01:22:11):
Uh. I asked everybody that bought NBC to make a
line on.

Speaker 2 (01:22:16):
The two x KO podcast. We have confirmed that Max
will be doing this, so look forward to that in
the future.

Speaker 1 (01:22:21):
The two x KO podcast, Yes, my favorite podcast.
