Speaker 1 (00:05):
Rip Jo.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Hello, welcome back to Triple k Oh. I am Matt mcmussels.
I have next to me in these little boxes that
you see justin Wong Maximilian so unfortu you cann't join
us this week because I think he's doing some holiday
family stuff. But we have mister tangy tomato sauce in
(00:31):
a small packet himself, Ryan AKA catch up. How are
you doing today, sir?
Speaker 1 (00:37):
I'm doing well. Hopefully everyone had a nice sort of
festive season, New Year and all that. It's ten o'clock
in the UK and it's really cold out, so I've
got my dressing going on. If anyone's got an issue
with that, then I don't know, deal with it.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
I suppose I like I like the cozy audio only
listeners can't tell, but like for video ones, you look
quite cozy. I'm actually so jealous.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
Oh I am as cozy as I look. Promise shit,
prmise you.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
So yeah, there's a few news stories we can cover
this week, but we also thought this would be a
great time to look back on twenty twenty four and
what's coming up in twenty twenty five. In the vein
of Fighting Games, when Max joins us again in our
next episode, will probably get like a little bit of
(01:25):
his perspective.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
Come on that.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Yeah, yeah, totally, but yeah starting off like of course,
right after we finished recording the last episode, S and
K decided to announce a new character or an old
character for Fatal Fury City of the Wolves, justin do
you have anything to say about about Gotto? I don't.
Are you a Gotto fan?
Speaker 3 (01:45):
I can't really really I'm a Gatto fan. I actually
played him in The Market Wolves a lot before I
discovered b Jeanette, and I played him a lot in
King of Fighters eleven then yeah, and then also when
he came out for fifteen it was really exciting as
well too. But this redesign of Gato is insane, right,
(02:07):
you know, because everything about him is really cool. Like
he has like this oral he has a backstance, and
I'm like, these are all different moves. Like he's really
transformed into a brand new character from what it seems like.
Though now to me, when I want to play Seated Wolves,
he might be the one that I want to play
(02:27):
the most because he seems like he might have the
most sauce in the game.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Uh, they really like he's already a bad ass and
the and Goro won and every other thing, but they
like went even more like, Okay, now he's blind. Now
his costume is a bit darker, and it seems like, yeah,
he's not. I think at some point in Garro it
was like Hotaru was kind of like, maybe I can
make him good again and maybe I can like reconnect
(02:53):
with him, and nah nah that didn't work, Like he
went the opposite. So uh yeah, like he looks really
interesting and it's pretty cool that I think in every
situation so far, S and K has not reused any
like Goro from kof fifteen style characters, like they just
I think early on, yeah, partically, and like like in
(03:16):
terms of their kit and their design, we kind of
were thinking when the game was first announced, like hey,
I wonder if they'll just grab like the character models
and animations from fifteen and just just do that. But
seems like they're not, which is pretty sick.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
So, Matt, you know, since you said he was blind,
like I was reading the bio, I gotta correct you
a little bit. Was nearly nearly being blinded from the
previous tournament. Gatto recovered his sense of sight since the
vicious attack. However, after realizing that verious sense is what
makes his movement sluggish, he now fights in complete darkness,
(03:55):
so he chooses blind.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
That's crazy, right, Imagine if Ken she got blinded for
a bit, then he's like, you know what, I was
better off that way. The bandana on it.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Just leaves it well, Ken, she cheats to be fair
because his sword still like gives him like mad assist.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
You know, it gives me daredevil vision, which is like,
you know, essentially cheating. But yeah, I didn't. I did
not know that. Thank you for that correction, because I
was just like I saw his eyes closed. I was like, oh,
he's just doing a like a guts thing where he's
like I'm just gonna keep my eyes closed and not
like have a bandana or whatever. That's sick. I was.
I was more powerful that way, So I'm just gonna
(04:36):
keep it going.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
That's good.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
But yeah, like Gato, so who's potentially left there is
Jay Hunt Tomorrow and Freeman and Kane and yeah and
Kane and he was on the original artwork where S
and KT's the game like back in the day what
three years ago now for so yeah, I think those
(05:01):
are characters that all come back. But I still think
that Joe and Andy are just gonna be DLC at
this point.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
Joe ain't coming back. It's done.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
Preacha is Joe is not gonna want to hear that
like every day is like Jojo, I think he's coming back.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
He tweeted out, Yo, can we get the Joe reveal already?
And I just replied with a picture of Preacher.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
Yeah, but so were we were thinking last episode, like, oh, geez,
s and Cas are about due to reveal a character
because the game comes out in late April and there's
at least a few more slots left in the lineup.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Of the number of characters that they were saying, I
think they're probably done with new characters. Yeah, Like I
don't see a new character coming out. I think it's
just gonna be old old hits from now on. I
don't I just get that vibe.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
Well, I think if it's close to release and you
look at a lot of fighting games, you're trying to
like stagger the hype in various ways. It's I feel
like it's quite a common thing that when a fighting
game is about to have, like you know, not quite
launch trailer, territory, but they've got one more in them.
It's pretty common that fighting games will like save a
(06:16):
fan favorite return like that that right near the launch window,
and that for me just generally seems to be something
that we see quite a lot because it makes sense
when companies do, because it's right. People are excited for
all sorts of different things, and then right before the
game's out hitting with someone that everyone really wants to see,
(06:37):
and then you know, try and just amplify all the
excitement that builds.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
For lack of a better term, they kind of blew
their load early by revealing my oh Little and.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
Cannon Chung Lee.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Yeah, well, wish you use a different different phrase there,
but you know what.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Like I said, lack of a better one, I couldn't
think of it, ridiculous frame.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
And you got the double barrel with with my in
h Street six as well.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
Yeah, yeah, S.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
And K characters are getting around. It's cool to.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
See, Like, is there is how many new characters are
in the game. There's Vox Preacher, only two I could
think about? Uh? Is the only two?
Speaker 1 (07:19):
No?
Speaker 2 (07:19):
I think that's it?
Speaker 3 (07:20):
Yeah, right, it's Vox and Preacher.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Right, maybe a third one would be in there.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Or maybe four. I feel
like four is like a perfect number of like new
characters because I think style when I think about, yeah,
new Challenger, you've heard of four, had four new characters.
When then when we won Combat ten came out with
the young Guns, right, like, how many of kids?
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Yeah, that was actually quite a lot. You had the
Combat Kids, you had Devora, you had total Aaron Black
Feratla that.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
Attually, that was a lot on the new character that
was a lot actually.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
That that was that Okay, but actually that that goes
into City of the Walls because MKX is like a
big ass time jump. But so is this like it's
like at least something like a couple of years since
Gauro in the timeline. I'm not sure if it kids
exactly said, but it's at least like five years something
like that. Uh so we'll we'll see. But yeah, maybe
(08:14):
you're right now that now you said like two, I'm like,
maybe there's at least one, if not another. I really
want that black dude that was in the original sprites
for Goro Too in the in the late nineties early
two thousands, that that do with like the fur jacket
and he was kind of like a black ya Yamazaki
and I'm like, oh, he looks sick, like I'd like
to see him come back. But yeah, maybe I think
(08:38):
they'll at least be one in DLC, Like one new character.
It's going to be Ken Chun Lee, new character and
then maybe old character. That makes that makes sense to
me for a combat pack.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
Unless unless sak is counting, like, yeah, we got new characters. Look,
we got my she's new to the Girl universe, and
then Chung Lee, right though, whatever that that's.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
About about that. My favorite thing about that was seeing
people on Twitter be like or x if you want
to be weird about it. I remember someone said on
Twitter I think I actually might have been like Broski
or something. It was like, dude, what the hell? I
whiff to sweep like half screen away from Ronaldo and
(09:23):
he fell on the floor holding his ankle.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Comes out and awards him the match.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
Right card, penalty free win.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Is soccer not being that big of a thing in
North America? Is Ronaldo? Like across Europe? If you were
to say this fighting game has Ronaldo in some fashion,
is that like a big get? Like does that is? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (09:48):
Because if you think about it, yeah, I think it's
a big get. You have I show speed, right. He
loves Renaldo and he would just anything with not that
He's like, I'm in there. Imagine if he played City
to the Wolves, right right, Okay, everyone will probably try
it out or you know, or it will go viral
on social media. He's playing a fighting game.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
But I still don't think he'll be a playable character.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
I don't think it's I think it's a stage.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
I think it's a stage with a character his character
model like hyping, hyping it up or something.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Well, you know, taking tag two had was it Snoop Dogg?
Speaker 3 (10:22):
It was a stage.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Yeah, yeah, the Snoop dog was in the background of
the stage, like hyping it up. So it's like, yeah,
that makes the most sense to me, unless you do
like a like a rival schools type thing. You just
have a soccer player character just like kicking balls and
the people's and do a bicycle kicks and ship.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
I mean, I'm curious to see what the crossover interest
will be because you know, I'm only speaking as a
guy from the UK, where you know, football was huge
footy fans and s NK let alone fighting game fans
not really over here. Yeah, yeah, so it's you know,
(11:04):
I think it was more starting to fight and and
crashing up a pub. It's more of what you sort
of remember from extreme football fans of the UK. But yeah,
I mean I think it's one of the big hooks
there is definitely the South American definite.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
Yeah, that's what I was thinking about South.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
America and football is insanity. Yeah, you know, I qassionate.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
I have to remind myself of how insane it is
because when I was in Italy a little while, like
last year, we're going down like where all the pubs
are and where all the restaurants are, and we're seeing
like these religious images where like there's these paintings of
like these men and they have halos or release around them,
and I was like, that's not Jesus, who is that?
And they're like that's this player. That's this player, Like
(11:48):
it is like you know, basically gods. You know. So yeah,
I could definitely see how that's that's going to help.
But yeah, Stage and his character model maybe like can
announce her like you know, k F fifteen had the
black dude with the glasses and he was like, hey,
I'm here reporting on like the KF tournament. Maybe he's
(12:09):
gonna be like a like a sportscaster doing like analysis
on the matches or something. I think that that that's
good synergy.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
My gut tells me the biggest amount of presence with
him having to do the lowest amount of work. Yeah,
you know what I mean, because I imagine his time
is probably valuable times a million, So like yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
anything that can just get him in and out.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
He came in for the face scan and maybe that's
it type thing, like to get the test.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Possibly yeah, possibly possibly.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
All right, So kind of following that, S and K
did have kind of a vague other announcement that it
seems like they're establishing their own like like their own
label just for fighting games, S and K. What was it,
like S and K Studios.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
Or Yeah, it's like a new studio.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
KOF Studio. Yeah, and even though it's KOF, they're saying
like this goes this will fall under like all of
their fighting games. So I'm just like that's an interesting thing.
I'm like wondering if that's going to be like this,
this new logo KF Studio is just gonna appear as
branding on all their fighting games, and I guess that's
another way of diversifying and saying, hey, this is one
(13:25):
of our fighting games. The only reason you need to
do that is if you plan to do more not
fighting games, like I know. Yeah, Like because they released
Metal Slug Tactics like a month or two ago, and
I think there's another Metal Slug game that was kind
of semi announced.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
I think it's a mobile mobile version. Yea, Tactics was mobile,
but then they became a full game. Yeah, and then
they had they just had that announcement. I don't know
if it's playable yet with the Naraka Blade point where
they have the King of Fighter skins in the game,
so that's a new S and K thing as well too.
(14:02):
Maybe that's part of the branding is that they're trying
to maybe street fighter it up with Luke and Chung
Lee with everybody do you want to collapse with Luke
and Chung Lee's maybe it's like Terry and my there
there might be the two new characters to do.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
That, right, Because the actual details of it were like
kind of it's pretty vague. Yeah, it's pretty big. It's
like this is for our thirtieth Anniversity King of Fires.
It brings over with a new mouse on the launch
of the all new Kago studio. So it does seem
like it's something where it's like, you know, if you
do want to collab with us, this is the exact
department studio that you want to contact them. Contact they also,
(14:38):
I think a little while Ago sincated that soft announcement saying, yeah,
we're working on a new samshow game, but it's an
action RPG. So I wonder where that would fall under,
like because technically, you know, a different genre, but it's
still a fighting game, IP, so.
Speaker 3 (14:54):
It could be like on a Musha style.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
Yeah, why not like a like a yeah, could I
could see that? When I when I think of Samurai
showed an RPG, I think of like, you know, the
are the RPG that that got released in Japan in
the nineties.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
Do you think that because of that rpg the old
RPG and then got localized and everybody like made a
big deal about it on social media, like, Hey, you
know what, maybe we should look into Samurai Showdown as
a non fighting game.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
It's a world that's that's rich enough. I'm currently right
now doing like an extensive deep dive making a retrospective
on the entire Sam Show RPG. And I didn't even
know that, Like all of the mainline games are like
crazy in their chronology. It's like street Fighter. It's like Alpha,
even though it it came out after Alpha's prequel. Yeah,
(15:45):
then four comes before three, and so it is five.
I didn't know that until like I started like sitting down,
I'm like, wait, five is the first one? Like five
is the first show?
Speaker 3 (15:58):
Yeah, I mean I didn't know down until you just
said that.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
And like the three and four take place between one
and two. It's it's crazy, So there's a lot of
stuff there. So I could see them doing that like
pretty well with an RPG. But KOF Studio A you know, again,
we'll see what it really does. Maybe they're gonna be
branching out to like anime. Maybe we can finally get
(16:21):
like a good KOF animated series or something, because you know,
the CG animated one kof Destiny was was it was
a little rough.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
So forget about the live action I can't.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
I try to forget about the live action Ryan.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
Game.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
Have you ever seen the kof live action movie?
Speaker 1 (16:45):
No? But now you've said that, I'm going to what's
the easiest way to actually appreciate.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
You can watch on YouTube, I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
On YouTube, I'm pretty one.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
You can either get like a full like someone just
uploaded it, or it's just available as a YouTube rental
like for like two bucks whatever. But yeah, it's amazing
because it is the bollocks that that like you want, right,
it's not like boring, it's just so silly.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
It it's bad.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
Yeah, it's bad.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
It's bad.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
Sorry, when did it come out?
Speaker 2 (17:17):
Like twenty two thousand and nine, twenty ten? Kyo Kyo
Kusnagi is played by like just a white man. He's
just like, I'm Kyo Kusnagi, what's up? Like it's amazing.
So it's so two thousand and nine. And the really
crazy part, the part that just fascinates me is that
Terry Bogard is played by David lech LEITCHI, I forget
(17:42):
always had to pronounce his last name, but what the
co creator of John Wick and the director of Deadpool
two and Atomic Blonde I think, and a fall Guy
that movie from last year and like Bullet Train, like
he was just a stunt actor and like he had
this role as Terry and k is.
Speaker 1 (18:03):
He the guy that was also he was Brandon If
I'm thinking the right person, I think it was also
Brandon Lee's stunt double in the Crow.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
He's related. It's either the other guy that was the
co creator of John Wick. It's it's either the other guy,
or it's it's semi related. So you're you're kind of
on the right track there. But just actor that should
not like, Okay, we're going too much into it.
Speaker 3 (18:27):
No, yeah, did you just just watch it and you'll
be like, all right, this this movie is as Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
I'll give you my official feedback at later day.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
Yes, please give me a book report on my desk.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
And I need the I need the I need the
rotten tomatoes from you. You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (18:42):
Hundred ever seen.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
I would love of KOF Studio produced in new live
action KOF movie. So moving on from that, Marl versus
Capcom Infinite and Beyond launched in between our last episode
and this one. Fifty thousand downloads spiked up these Steam
numbers from it by two thousand percent. There is a
(19:06):
seven K tournament online that went down justin you've played
it quite a bit. I've I've only dabbled in training.
I haven't had a second to really get into it,
But how are you feeling about how it is? The
changes visuals and what so?
Speaker 3 (19:24):
I never really got into NVCI personally, like I played
it in like I would say, the first three months,
and after that, I'm just kind of like, all right,
that's that's it. I said, right, that's the game. So
beyond I would say it has like the amazing visual look.
They had some patches and everything, but it doesn't really
(19:44):
affect me because I haven't played the game long enough
to really feel the differences, right, But I would say
that I enjoy that this arcade mode was super challenging
because it's been a very long time since I think
in history, there's never been a Mars Capcom arcade mode
that has been hard, fun and everything, super challenging anything
(20:07):
like that. It's just never been like that, right, So
the fact that when you when you fight Sigmatron, he's
just really hard, Like I couldn't beat him with my
team and it was just insane. And they also and yeah,
and you have to try to do it in frenzy mode,
where it's pretty much dramatic battlestyle like that's just so
hard but also so fun at the same time. I
(20:29):
really enjoyed that. I haven't played like people or online yet,
but it seems like a lot of people have been,
you know, playing in it. Because obviously there was a
seventy five hundred dollars tournament from that Tampa Never Sleep Ran. Yeah,
I think Max donated a thousand of that pot. So
the fact that it raised that much money for NBCi
(20:52):
Beyond tournament, I think that's kind of crazy. I really
think that's kind of crazy. I hope the game actually
gets its due flowers, because it's one of these games
that like everybody was like, yeah, I rather play Dragon
Ball instead. You know, that's how the timing of it.
So all the players that have stuck playing the game,
they still play it. You know, there's always there's there's
(21:12):
always a weekly for NBCi before Beyond came out, and
now they're using Beyond. So it's just really cool to
see that, Like that scene is like finally like getting like,
you know, people interested playing their game, people coming back
to playing the game. It's just it's just something cool,
something cool. And the fact that Max put all that
Max and his team put all that effort and money
(21:34):
into it. It's just it's just really insane, and you
could see how how much love and passion isn't that
project alone?
Speaker 2 (21:40):
Right, Yeah, because even even just on a very casual
level just watching it, you're just like, it feels like
like a thousand times better just to look at it
as it's being played, because it does invoke like you know,
like an arcsist style or like arts style to it,
and it just seems such more vibrant and exciting to watch.
(22:02):
And then you know, I've went back and watched like
actual just launch Vanilla Infinite, I'm just like, wow, it
is bad. It is bad, Like it just just by comparison.
Like at the time, I was like, eh, it looks
it looks rough for sure, But like now that you
have this other like visual identity to compare it to,
it's just like why would you ever go back to that?
(22:24):
Like it'd be really like, you know, even though you
know Capcom seems very content with like letting this mod
go on because you need to own Infinite and on
Steam to even really get this mod working. That seems
to be a key component for allowing like mods to
exist and such. It's like, you know, it has to
(22:46):
be something where it's like they encourage everyone to purchase
the game for it to you know, be fine with
the rights holders and stuff, but it'd be is super cool.
It's like I doubt will ever happen, but it's like
if they can somehow fold this into the main game,
make it official. But I mean I'm sure that's yeah,
that'll be hard. Yeah, probably beyond the technical like.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
I think the yeah, I think the biggest thing that
you could take away is like, hopefully this game will
come back to like major events. Yeah, right, I think
that would be pretty cool that people can be played
like even though it's a side tournament, just like an interest.
I think that would be pretty cool. Give it some
stream time people could see it. But I think in general,
(23:28):
like the online community is definitely preserved. So that's the
really cool part.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
I'm trying to think of other instances where a fighting
game has received such a like gigantic community mod that
has just been wonderful for the game and has almost
completely transformed it and been allowed. You know. That's the
incredible thing. I mean, I know this isn't the first
(23:54):
time something has happened, but the shiit scale of this
Infinite Project is. You know, I didn't play a huge
amount of Infinite I paid it a bit when it
came out, like everyone did. But a lot of the
reasons I stopped playing it were kind of the same
reasons a lot of other people. You know. I just
didn't like how it looked. It was just a bit
uncomfortable to play because I'm not like a legacy Marvel
(24:16):
guy at all. So having the freedom of all the
all the the Infinity Stones or whatever were like cool,
but it was a bit overwhelming for me and stuff
like that. Just being able to watch people play it
now years later, when you know this game is more
than figured out. Everyone knows, you know, all this cool,
crazy stuff, and then you've got all this extra stuff
on top that just makes it, as a casual viewer,
(24:37):
just feel like more of a Marvel versus Capcom game.
And then you just realize that, you know, this is
this is just the tireless efforts of so many hard
working people. It's sick, man.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
I think the last time there was something like that
was shut down my Nintendo project.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
M Oh, you know what, You're right.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
That was when when everyone was like Brass sucks because
of the tripping mechanic and everything. So they made their
own Project m They were running into tournaments for a
very long time, and then Nintendel shut it down where
you just cannot have this tournament like at all, so
they had to like really just remove it from every
smash tournament in general. I don't see that with NBCi,
(25:18):
you know, b happening. But if it did get like big,
maybe when it comes to a major tournament, but if
it's like right here where it's keeping the circle of
like online tournaments and everything, I feel like Marvel and
Capcom just be like, yeah, I don't see that, even
though they see it, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
That's what I think because again, at the end of
the day, it's like, you know, copies needed to be
purchased for it, versus where it's like Project dem was like,
you know, there was no digital distribution for Brawl, therefore
you had discs and therefore they had to be hacked,
and like yeah, and again Nintendo way more strict on
that stuff obviously. But yeah, I think like Project Them
(25:58):
is the only the thing of that even close to
that scale, because the only other thing I can think
is is Reshades on PS two emulated fighting games or something,
and that's yeah, exactly, that's basically that's not even close
to it. But uh yeah, we'll probably check in with
Max about it. But yeah, though all the efforts of
him and his team, lots of people like music people
(26:21):
as well, little v Mills contributed to that. So he's
a good friend of the show as well. And just
the timing of it worked out perfectly where it's like
hypeer Marvel was already like at the highest it could
be because of the collection coming out just like you know,
a month or two before that, two months ago, and
then this coming out is like hopefully this is like
(26:43):
a double whammy of like showing Capcom and Marvel that yeah,
maybe maybe people like this stuff, maybe we could do
something new in the future. That's that's more official.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
But yeah, the world of modeling for Marvel is incredible.
I mean even VC three. Yeah, the people that just
you know, I don't know the ins and outs of it,
but people putting like new characters in it, whether it's
like using existing animations or whatever and trying to like
somewhat rework them or whatever style may be. Yeah, like
(27:15):
just seeing even that's cool. I saw that video on
social media in the day if someone that's just straight
up put doo in rag.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
Yeah, yeah, that was so good.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
I just saw it pop up out of nowhere, and
I'm just like the stuff that people are able to
do is fantastic, really really sick stuff. Yeah, because like
where does the limit end? That's what I wonder.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
Well, well, like versus like ten maybe fifteen years ago,
it's like people just didn't just didn't have the tools
like available or the know how. But now just like
since you know, a lot of engines and uh, information
is out there over the last couple of years, like
people can just get their hands dirty and really again,
you know, outside of like you know, Mortal Kombat, Mugens,
(27:56):
you know, there was all that much going on, but
now it's like almost any game is is you know,
susceptible to that and for the for the positives of
the community to keep it alive. So yeah, we'll check
in back with Max when he returns to kind of
get his thoughts on everything that went into it. But
I'm sure he's glad that his work is done and
(28:19):
that he leaves it in the hands of the community,
because like.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
Can you imagine that sigh of relief when it's like
it's ready. Yeah, you know, it's like it's like when
you finish a big video. But this is like times
a thousand times.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
A whole year, a whole year of work.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
And I know you mentioned Mujin's I've just got to
I feel like we're talking about fighting gay moding. There's
actually some cool stuff in Mortal Combat as well that
there's a guy called Ermaka who does a Fisherma.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
Yeah, that's a great day.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
He mods, He mods three D. He actually creates a
lot of tools, really really useful moding tools and stuff.
But he also has gone into don't know how he's done.
It goes in to three D Mortal Kombat, mostly Deception,
and is adding characters from other three D MK's almost
completely preserved or slightly changed, and is adding other characters
(29:11):
from modern games. So it's put like Trema in Deception.
He's put Sector Cyrax, Interception other characters to Serena, who
a lot of the basis of Serena I believe is
not only from Armageddon, but it was from her game
Boy Advance appearance, which was technically Serena's very first appearance
before him again, and it's just like that there's there's
(29:34):
all kinds of really cool model. Even in you know,
when we look at Mortal Combat, you normally think of
just Mougan and that's it. Even the official Mortal Kombat
games are starting to have that element of community attention
where people are really trying to figure this stuff out.
It's really cool to see that.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
That's cool because like I watched a video from Matt
and he was playing in Mortal Kombat too, Mugan and
that's what made me and that's what made me play
that one, and I was like, wow, this one is
it's a good it's so.
Speaker 1 (30:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
So.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
And the impressive thing about the three D Mortal Kombat modie,
it's just because it's like, whenever there's a game that
does not have a PC release, it's like a thousand
times more complicated to get into it. So when I
when I've talked to people that work at Night Dive,
for example, they do lots of remasters, like yeah yeah.
When when they get like their hands on a property
(30:26):
that has a PC version, they're like, that's great, Uh,
that makes things a thousand times easier. And like the
one or two games I think they've that they've done
where it's like there wasn't a PC version in the
case that I'm thinking of Tarok.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
Three Shadow of Oblivion.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
Yeah, like that one is like I still don't know
how they model that to be as good as it is.
Like I, you know, PC, when there's a PC version
like for Tarok one and two, Yeah, yeah, I understand
they can work off something and when there isn't, so
like you know, three D Mortal Kombat Deception, I'm just like,
that's incredible. Like I I did hear about HERMAKA before,
(31:01):
but I kind of like forgot about it, and I do.
I do want to check that stuff out because that
because that's that's the most sound plan you can do.
Which three D Mortal Kombat do you get? It doesn't
matter do you get you take Deception? Yeah, either two
or not really a consideration, but it did.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
Actually he one of my favorite things he put together
was for anyone that enjoys Shallon Monks, he uploads he's
got a rom haack called the Shallon Monks Hook where
anyone that remembered using game Shark or action replay for
us in the UK to mod in different playable characters,
but you had to wrestle with a lot of like
Menus and with Crash and whatever else. He's actually put
(31:39):
together a rom haack of Shallon Monks where you can
in the character select choose any character NPC or otherwise
to play through the entire game with, including a easy
screen change feature the ability to reposition yourself if you
get possibly soft locked. So if anyone you know who
remembered like using game shark for something like Shalon Monks,
(32:02):
there's actually a rom haack that allows you to do
it in the game seamlessly.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
I am very very good in this, so remind me.
In the single player mode, you can only take lu Can,
Kong Lao, sub Zero, and Scorpion, But all the other
characters were available in the versus mode, So like Johnny
Cage Baraka. So now does Johnny Cage and Baraka or
Katana or whatever are they playable in the main game.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
You can choose their NPC versions where you fight them
as boss fights, or you can choose their versus mode
version to use the versus mode version, you can actually
use their fatalities on enemies. The only problem is you
don't have any other character, won't have mortality or futality,
so you will soft loock there some characters can out
of bounce, like Baraka can actually out of bounds his
(32:52):
way to the end of the game. But because the
mod has the ability to seamlessly go from one screen
to the next, if you enter a room your soft lock,
you can literally just skip that room. And you know,
it's somewhat simulating a full play through, even if you're
not going to get every single room. But it's just
fun to do it, really, especially with two players actually
because you can co op it. It supports the two players,
(33:12):
so you can both do it.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
I know it's out of his hands, but every couple
of months, I just like, I just want to bug someone,
not not specifically ED, but mostly ED. It's like, is
shallon months just never gonna happen? Like a remaster. I'll
take a remaster. I'll take the most basic remaster in
the world. Can I get you into contact with the
(33:34):
people at Night Dive please? Like anything? Like, because very
very good memories on that, especially playing the versus modes
so spectacular.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
I don't believe the Versus mode was always meant to
be there. I might be getting my wires crossed here,
but you mean, like addition, I heard it was a
later edition. Yeah, I mean it was meant to be
a I'm sure I heard that from from someone that
actually worked on the game, but I could be completely
misremembering because it was a long time ago. Even the
(34:04):
secret Endurance mode was in there. Oh yeah, it's still
in the game, but you've got walk on water basically
to be able to run it. It's so secretive, but
that was the thing that they put in and ran
out of time. It just went right, We're going to
stick it in as is, and if anyone finds it,
good for them.
Speaker 2 (34:20):
That's a Mortal Kombat secret. It makes you know people
will speaking Immortal Kombat. There was two little things that
kind of came up lately where the voice actress behind
Jade kind of made a statement saying like, their stuff
is happening with Jade, stories to be told, and Jade
(34:41):
is one of the rumored characters to have been included
into Combat Pack three, so that is kind of in
contention with the rumor from a few weeks back saying
that maybe Combat Pack three is not coming out or
is canceled or it's been retooled. And then Gin from
(35:01):
mk X apparently had a little image leaked out looks
like his character model is somewhere in Mortal Kombat one
in the files, or it's possibly a mod that someone did.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
It's likely in there anyway.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
It's likely in there anyway, just says like him or
just his gear Kung Jin.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
Because at the end of MK one, the final chapter
where you're going up the pyramids, there is there is
a cut scene where all four of the combat kids
are there. I think Katana, Oh yeah, completely forgotten. Yeah yeah,
any character you pick. The four of them come down
the stairs and then Katana comes in and is like,
I got this, and then she kills them. Oh okay,
(35:43):
but Gin is that I'm fairly so I could be
wrong here, but I think what he's wearing in that
cut scene is from the file, which is I think
why I saw some people compare him there to be
like m K eleven iMac, where I Mac had a
costume that a lot of people really liked, but he
was doomed to just be in the crypt and did
(36:04):
that was just him. I think I saw some people
make that comparison because they saw Kungjin wearing this really
cool costume that was made for MK one, but he
was in it just as a cut scene, so katonic
and murder him. So yeah, there is a possibility that,
you know, maybe one day we would see Kungjin. But
for me, if he is in the game somehow, like
file wise, it would make the most sense that that's
just his model in the cut scene. But I don't
(36:26):
know if that would maybe not because you don't fight him.
He's only in the cut scene, so in theory he
would just be in a video or something. I don't
know how game dev works.
Speaker 2 (36:37):
I didn't want to get your take on what you're
feeling about the rumors surrounding Combat Pack three, whether I
mean totally. To me, it's still just like crazy that
it would that, you know, such an amount of content
we'd be considered to just be canceled like that, just
you know, once money starts gaining spent, it's you know,
it's always a fifty to fifty shot whether they just
(36:59):
had to go through with it or not. And I
don't think like low sales of Chaos Reins there'd be
so low that they would just cancel future content. That
seems like crazy to me. But what's your take on it, Ryan, Well, I.
Speaker 1 (37:15):
Think I remember seeing online. I think people must have
have paid attention to a recent Warner Brothers call of
some sorts where I know that supposedly, and again this
is all just from what i'd seen on socials, so
again don't take my word as gospel. But people said
that they said they want to focus on their main EPs,
(37:37):
which I think were like Batman, Harry Potter, and Mortal Combat.
Specifically Mortal Combat was mentioned. It would be really weird
for me for them to mention that they want to
focus on their maine EPs, of which they consider Mortal
Combat and main IP and then just kill all content
for MK one like that. For me, just it's like
two different things going against each other. So it would
(38:01):
be very confusing to me if there was absolutely no
content after we've had these three guests, because also release plans,
it would be very strange for the year's content to
just be now Terminator and Conan. That would be odd,
especially for like modern Mortal Kombats, which there's normally a
fair few DLC characters, and as far as I'm aware,
(38:22):
they always do quite well. I would just love to
see more content because I feel like I'm crazy sometimes
for being someone that actually enjoys playing Mortal Kombat one.
I like it a lot more than I liked Mortal
Kombat eleven. It's certainly not my favorite. Another elm Mortal
Kombat that would still be MK nine for me. It's
(38:42):
a bit of a battle between X and one as
to which one I prefer, because there's elements to both
that I love. I guess it might be the things
that frustrate me more than the other might dictate which
one's number two. But you know, I genuinely really like
the roster for MK one and that's something that I
hope they build on with more classic characters.
Speaker 2 (39:01):
I would love to play MKX, but it looks like
MK eleven just like graphically, like the fidelity of it
and the way the characters look is whenever I go
back to MKX, just Johnny's face is weird. So many
characters faces are just off to me. And there's just
the animations, like, you know, not like, but everything else
about MKX I prefer personally, like in terms of game.
Speaker 1 (39:22):
Everyone looks really sweaty in MKX, don't they. Yeah, And
when a.
Speaker 3 (39:26):
Character it's so fun though. The carmos and everything about
MKX is my favorite.
Speaker 1 (39:30):
Yeah, And I'm completely like understand why people say that
about MKX, Like as a competitor, it was the most
stressful game I ever played, especially earlier when it was
even more like fifty to fifty focus and there was
even more broken stuff. But I just love the I think,
I just I love the cameo system, mostly because I'm
(39:53):
a huge three DMK fan. Anyone that follows our channel knows.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
How I haven't noticed. I hadn't noticed that at all.
It's so hidden.
Speaker 1 (40:01):
We did three D Mortal. It's our favorite era of
Mortal Combat because it was the most nostalgic, you know, kids,
we were teenagers when that was a thing, so so
many of those characters being back in MK one and
being really fun to play was a huge hook for us.
You know, I never gave a damn about Darius before,
(40:23):
but he's one of my favorite cameos in MK one.
So it's like the ability to somewhat still reinvent characters
that we hadn't seen for over a decade, sometimes almost
twenty years. It's something I very very much like. UH
wasn't as huge of a fan of playing as Base Sector,
which might be a shock to some people. I actually
still think I prefer playing Rain in that game because
I can just pick the sector cameo. So I've still
(40:45):
got sector with me.
Speaker 2 (40:46):
Yeah, going on your point about there's two different things
going on at Warner Brothers, what's also weird to me
is you have another movie coming out in twenty twenty five,
a new Aureal Kombat movie, but your games division's gonna
not have anything ready for that. Costumes, you know, skins, whatever,
(41:10):
They're just gonna be nothing prepared because you're gonna announce,
let's say in three months, Oh, there's no more Mortal
Kombat one. Content like that also doesn't chive like you
would think when a company has a movie a big
movie division than a games division, it would just seem
like that's still money being left on the table, at
least in a casual perspective, Like you know, and I'm
(41:33):
anticipating the second movie to like be better than the first.
There's a lot of statements from the people that are
working on it. There's a brand new writer on it,
they're a director. It's like, yeah, we're really trying to
focus on the things people liked. We're gonna have a
tournament be the focus of the movie, story, et cetera.
Et cetera. So like that might be great. The first
movie did really well on streaming, like it did better
(41:55):
than some DC property superhero movies did on streaming back
in twenty twenty one. So, but Warner Brothers is gonna
be like nah, nah the game, Nah no, no, just
abandon it like that also doesn't make sense to me. Like,
but then again, Warner Brothers has done weird stuff that
I'm like, I don't huh, you're doing what You're canceling
this or you're you're you know, putting this somewhere else.
(42:19):
That makes no sense. So, you know, I just like
to think that that sanity will prevail and that you know,
content for that will continue because Mortal Common's still too
big of a property just to give up on it,
you know.
Speaker 1 (42:34):
Yeah, it's very rare that you'll have a company will
have a video game that has movie potential as well,
which is a big one, like Mortal Kombat is. You know,
it's been hit and miss on the old on the
old cinema screen. But yes, when it's been good, it's
been really good, and it's been bad obviously it's been
the complete opposite direction. But it's not it's not common
(42:56):
to own a fighting game that has an element of
success with cinema. So yeah, I pretty much agree that
it'd be very weird to do pretty much nothing.
Speaker 2 (43:05):
Like cross media potential.
Speaker 1 (43:08):
Yeah, for sure, I think that that's the term I
was looking for, to be honest, Well.
Speaker 2 (43:12):
We'll see if that, you know, Like I'd imagine if
we don't hear anything about more and moral combat content
in the next couple of months, it's like, well, then
you know, Evo's essentially right around the corner. And if
like we don't hear anything about so after that or
around around that timeframe, that would be crazy to me.
Speaker 1 (43:31):
Like it would all be confusing because we have news
coming out about Pro Competition soon, because they announced they're
doing a season two of the Pro Tour. Yeah, they've
given no extra info other than it exists, but I
believe this is the month where they're giving a lot
more information. The first event is I think in Mexico City,
so that event has already been listed as a Pro
(43:53):
comp event, but they haven't listed any of the other events,
So I'm assuming they're going to do some kind of roadmap. Yeah,
but again, that to me feeds into the It would
make no sense to do nothing because you've got a
year two of a pro tour. You've only got two
characters on the way now, both of which are guest characters,
(44:13):
which is Conan.
Speaker 2 (44:14):
This month is Conan? Yeah for January.
Speaker 3 (44:17):
January twenty first, I believe.
Speaker 1 (44:19):
Okay, yeah, Conan's not far off, and then there'll be
a combat cast and everything.
Speaker 2 (44:25):
Then the T one thousand from the hot movie Terminator two.
Speaker 1 (44:30):
A pressure press face in cinemas.
Speaker 2 (44:34):
Right, I'd understand if Terminator if this was the thirtieth
anniversary or like whatever, the thirty fifth anniversary or whatever,
however fucking long ago it was. Now of Terminator two,
I could kind of understand, Oh, it's getting a theatrical
re release in three D or whatever, four k et ceteracidad.
If it was like a big Terminator two month and
the Terminator anime that came out last year was coming
(44:57):
out in twenty twenty five, I could understand that. But
it's like, I don't think that's happening unfortunately, Like, that's
not it's not a big Terminator two year right.
Speaker 1 (45:07):
Gameplay wise, I'd rather play the T one thousand than
the tea.
Speaker 2 (45:10):
Yeah, that's true. You don't want to play as a
gun character.
Speaker 1 (45:13):
You crazy, guns can be nice. You know. I didn't
care for Rambo at all, I'll tell you that much.
But he didn't necessarily play like a gun character. He
had that one move where he pulled out his sixties
and that move was ass So no, so he was
more like slashy slashy knife command grabby man. Actually, some
(45:34):
gameplay similarities between ghost Face and Rambo were pretty apparent.
Speaker 2 (45:38):
Even Okay, the knife stuff, yeah yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (45:40):
Yeah, they both had the cruel stance and everything else.
But yeah, that's sort of like mid up close knife
game with command grab like very similar gameplay.
Speaker 2 (45:50):
The T one thousand better have a reference to Jackson's
MK three fatality because like that is the one where
it's like I'm watching that for the first time in
nineteen having and just going wow, they love Terminator too
so much. So if he doesn't have a reference somewhere
at least in at least in pre match dialogue like
I would love, Well, no, he couldn't really talk to
(46:11):
a cameo unfortunately, but.
Speaker 3 (46:12):
I'm telling he's going to have the glacier from Killer
Instant the dp.
Speaker 1 (46:17):
DP.
Speaker 2 (46:18):
Yeah, Justin said this last time, and it's like, yeah,
maybe I could see that. You know, Glaciers is also
very two one thousand coded, but I.
Speaker 1 (46:27):
Want him to be weird, yeah, like, especially because we've
got Conan first, who as anyone that's seen the gameplay Teasa,
Conan looks about as stiff as you would expect. None
of us were expecting Conan to be like flying across
the screen, right, But Conan looks even for like some
(46:47):
of the action figure style guest characters, Codin looks especially stiff.
Speaker 3 (46:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (46:53):
I was kind of hoping it'd be more like a
cot or Khan, and I think a lot of people
thought that. And I was talking with Mustard about this
and he made a good point. Part of it really
is that Conan's sword is really small, which if you
watch the first movie, he actually doesn't have a huge sword.
It's like the next one they made it bigger. So like,
(47:13):
and you factor in the fact that Arnie was like huge, right,
I think that was the biggest he'd ever got in
his life training for that film is what the story
is that that was his big one, right, So when
you put a sword that even is quite big on him,
it still looked kind of small. And when you keep
the size of that sword from the first film, and
(47:34):
then you bring that into a game, it's gonna be
a little bit like I don't think disorienting is the
right word, but it's just not quite right. You know.
You look at someone like col Khan, the sword's as
big as he is and that's why it works. Whereas Conan,
he's massive and I think he's the biggest character in
the game, according to whit'e seen one of the animators
(47:54):
say on social media, is the biggest model. But they've
kept the sword like almost movie accurate.
Speaker 2 (48:01):
I was about to say, like there, so it just
looks weird because Cotal Connor, let's say Tusk and Ka
twenty thirteen. We've got a Ka twenty thirteen reference in
there is like his sword is like Guts is like
sword Dragonslayer, Like it's just super wide, the girth. You
have to respect it. And like for ConA and it's like, yeah,
they let's look at the movie props, let's look at
(48:23):
his costume and like let's scan them in. Maybe they
have to be all okayed by the rights holders, that,
et cetera. There's all these considerations you have to make
for guest characters. So yeah, I could definitely see that
being an issue where it's like the sword is not
you know, getting that sense of like raw power or
reach because they're they're staying movie accurate, which you know
(48:45):
they kind of have to do if there's if there's
other rights holders involved. But yeah, that is a good point.
I think now we'll throw over into you know, fighting
games that we kind of enjoyed throughout twenty twenty four.
We did talk a bit about this with Guile win
Quote a few episodes back, but I wanted to get
(49:06):
Ryan's take on any of the games, you know, any
fighting games that you play this year, continuing ones or
brand new ones like Tech and AID, Like, what were
you enjoying the most in terms of fighting games in
twenty twenty four.
Speaker 1 (49:19):
So throughout twenty twenty four, I was almost exclusively locked
into Mortal Kombat one. There was just so much competitive
action for it, and I was, you know, lucky enough
to do a fair amount of traveling, you know, was
able to do EVO, was able to do Final Combat,
was able to go back to Brazil, you know and
do a video game event that was actually fighting game related,
(49:41):
which was nice. The first time I went, I was
commentating console smited related to everything else, and it was
many years ago, so I've got to be honest. I
didn't play heaps of fighting games as a whole because
I had to be in Mortal Kombat mode, you know,
comment chair and pro comp was what I did. So
I've gotta admit, Yeah, the only fighting game I really
(50:02):
played big time was MK one, which means, you know,
I did do a lot of Chaos Rains. I did
experience all the DLC characters that came out throughout the year.
I've got a lot to say about all of that,
but I don't necessarily have as much to say for
the other games.
Speaker 2 (50:15):
Yeah, I know, no problem, Like what is your character
of MK one? Like a new character that was released
in twenty twight four? Like I assume one of the
Cyber Ninja's, But correct me if I'm wrong there.
Speaker 1 (50:28):
I think Chaos Rains was a really good character pack.
I must say I wasn't really a fan of the
Chaos Rains story. I think that the idea of their
being like Titan Havoc and then all this stuff was
a really cool idea. I just don't think it played
out the way a lot of us had hoped a
(50:50):
lot of character identity was kind of lost, because you know,
it's cool having a multiverse and different timelines because hey,
you get to see what all these characters are like
in other universes. But if you look at the dialogue
that the characters spoke in Chaos Reigns, you could have
pretty much taken any spoken line and just swapped it
(51:12):
around all the different characters and nothing would have changed.
Every single character is just chaos is good, You will chaos,
and that's it. That was basically the story as a whole.
So I can't say I was really big into the story,
but I did like what the three characters in For
those that don't know Nube, Sibots, Cyrx, and Sector what
(51:33):
they did to the game, because all three of them
are good. None of them are considered weak. They are
all of them currently still really being figured out because
the cameos are changing all the time. People are going
between lots of different cameos trying to find out which
is the best. We're currently in the meta of Sector
cameo right now, because there's a really strong fatal blow
(51:54):
which they added in the latest patch, where Sector can
fire a rocket and it's kind of like an Injustice
Super you know, it's kind of armored and it's like
a media on startup. It's full screen, so that's got
a lot of strength right now. But yeah, really, I
mean Sector added a lot of range to the game.
She's very much got like a lot of zoning potential,
but it's not just that she has other tools to
Cyrax is pretty much perfectly preserved, very annoying, and very
(52:18):
set play oriented, but kind of only set play. And
then new Sybot's the weird one because he plays in
this game unlike he's ever played before. It's a new
take on the character, and there's a lot of really
cool potential from like combo damage and combo pathing, some
of the largest combos in the game. But I think
(52:40):
really cameo dependent to maximize all that stuff, which I
guess is more all combat one. In general, it's hard
to talk about ghost Face because ghost Face is currently
not working as intended. There was an infinite discovered about
a comment. It was something to do with a knife
cancel of something like that, wherever a character was stunned,
you could cancel a knife and then it would reset
(53:00):
the combo and they can't block it. So they've done
like a temporary fix as of this video you know
this being out now, they've done like a temporary fix
to disable the cancel. I imagine they're just going to
fix it with Conan, and it's not something they can
just hot fix. But I look at all the DLC,
and every bit of it, for the most part, has
added into the meta. Besides a couple of characters, I
(53:23):
don't really think that Omniman did much, and neither did
Kwan unfortunately, but a lot of other characters that exist
now they're really healthy additions to the game. Irmak is
one of the new wave characters because people have found
some like Crazy Ermac and Janet Cage combos. Takeda is
there's a super incredible I believe Brazilian but South American,
(53:47):
just to be safe to Cada, that's been like crushing
in offline tournaments and is showing people that Yo Takeda's
actually like way worth looking at and could be like
a real underdog character. And then you've got Piece of
Maker at Homelander. So so I think the DLC itself
has actually been pretty damn solid, mostly hits in terms
(54:08):
of like adding to the meta. I just didn't like
Peacemaker Homelander at two.
Speaker 2 (54:11):
Yeah, like throughout our like all our episodes throughout twenty
twenty four. I think you know, Max certainly was like
Takeda love him, and Noob Sabbat also really enjoying him.
And even though the time where me and Justin were
playing at the start of the DLC season, Omni Man
and like Peacemaker and God Homelander, we're all kind of like, yeah,
(54:37):
these characters, Yeah, they're in the game, and like, I'm
not sure if any of them like really like struck
a chord or like you start playing or am I
remembering that wrong? Justin, like, didn't you like Peacemaker.
Speaker 3 (54:51):
Peacemaker was the really good one. He was I don't
know like how much nerves he had, but at least
one I was watching like everyone was using him a lot, right,
And Omni Man he was just cool. He had the gimmick.
He had the little air combo gimmick where you just
keep doing it back and forth and that's like something
casually fun. I actually didn't play Homelander, but I only
(55:13):
played Peacemaker and Omni Man.
Speaker 2 (55:15):
Yeah, because I got I think I got Omni Man
and Peacemaker and then like I, you know, I kind
of just stopped playing the game. But when Chaos Rains
came out, I did download everything. I just haven't tried,
you know, any of the characters. And I want to
try Num Sabah. It's just like, you know, just time permitting.
I did want to ask Ryan if you could like
wish a character into existence in the game in twenty
(55:38):
twenty five, who would you want to see? You know,
it's got to be a three D character.
Speaker 1 (55:45):
Right, I feel like I almost well, look if I
was stacking on behalf of Mustard, right Jarick? Because Mustard
is one of the few an ironic Jarreck fans.
Speaker 2 (55:56):
I don't believe.
Speaker 1 (55:58):
No, did you know Jarreck's actually really good in both
of his games?
Speaker 2 (56:01):
No?
Speaker 1 (56:01):
No, he was. He was amazing in MK four and
he wasn't too shabby and armaged. I think the big
one for us is actually Hotaru. I think Havoc being
an MK one was sick, but having Havoc and not
ho Taru felt a bit strange because one is the
(56:23):
embodiment of chaos, one is the embodiment of order, so
not having the other was always weird to me.
Speaker 2 (56:29):
And they hint at the order realman throughout the story,
and it's in the yeah yeah.
Speaker 1 (56:35):
Yeah Sato. So for those that don't know, I'm not
going to give you a huge backstory, don't worry. Hotaru
is a three D character, very tall, covered head to
toe in armor. I believe. I'm not sure what language
it is, but it means firefly in a certain language.
It might be Japanese, which is why his armor is
(56:56):
like almost like a carapace, like an insect carapace. And
he a big character. He's one of the tallest characters
in the game. And he had this massive like guan Dao,
this pole arm, and that was kind of his whole thing,
was that he was this very big, overbearing character with
a giant weapon, had a lot of like lava, you know,
firefly style projectiles and stuff like that. And I always
(57:17):
thought he was one of the sickest three D characters
and one of the characters that if they brought back,
could do something that we haven't really seen before. A
huge character that's not necessarily huge, because he's just muscly
or a monster, just covered head to foot in armor
with a giant weapon, a two handed weapon as well,
you know, so personally, yeah, Hotaru is my my pick
(57:42):
and Mustard feels very similar as well. We both love
that character.
Speaker 2 (57:45):
Hmmm if if I was the same one for myself,
it's like, yeah, I want I want Onaga in there,
like playable as a final as a as a as
a third final boss, whatever it may be. But I'd
like to see Onaga back because again, they mentioned him
quite a bit and he's just not you know, like
he doesn't show up in any guys at the end
of Chaos Rains right because I I have not started
Chaos Rains story mode.
Speaker 1 (58:07):
They do bring a character back who isn't a human
or any of that sort of character in KOs Rains,
but I won't tell you just in case. Okay, okay,
it is from is from three D Okay. I wish
Taven and Dagon are actually way up there for me too.
I love those characters.
Speaker 2 (58:24):
That's wrong with you because I hate them. Is there
a character you'd like to see in an MK one
in twenty five?
Speaker 3 (58:34):
Justin I'm so basic, like I any because my characters
I play are like always gonna make it like Raydon.
He's gonna make it Kung Law's gonna make it like
you know, people with the hats. But if I had
to choose a character I enjoyed when I played a
lot of nk X, it will be Jackie. I enjoyed
Jackie a lot, just because maybe I just troll people
(58:57):
and just done spam all day.
Speaker 2 (58:59):
But her.
Speaker 3 (59:01):
And UH and Cassie Cage, they were both really, really fun,
so I wanted I wish they kept going with them
because they were kind of like, you know, the combat
Kids the future, right, So I hope they come back.
That would be pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (59:17):
Yeah, shout outs to Jade as well, Like, you know,
even though she's got of kind of was hinted rumored
at in the Combat Packed three sort of rumors. Yeah,
I would like to see her back as well.
Speaker 1 (59:29):
I agree.
Speaker 2 (59:31):
Yeah, Ude, is there like any other fighting games, you
want to give a shout out to Ryan or we
want to move on to Justin because I know you
preface this by saying MK one was your focus, but.
Speaker 1 (59:42):
It was just nice to see a lot of other
fighting games doing well. Yeah, Like when I went to EVO,
I did manage I did get hands I see, thanks
to you actually setting us up some time, mustn't. I
got to play City of the Wolves and had way
more fun than we thought we would. It's definitely a
game that I'm looking to get my hands on pretty
much when it comes out, because it was a lot
of But yeah, man, I mean just seeing the fact
(01:00:04):
that Techan is still thriving, street Fighter is still thriving.
I don't pay any attention to Strive, but it's nice
to know that that game is constantly to this day
getting like, you know, new content, new updates. Nice to
see another game sort of go into that absolute like
peak of like fighting game competition. I know that. You know,
if you look at the big three of competitive fighting
(01:00:25):
games right now, it's Strive, Tech and Street Fighter. And
a few years ago, no one would have ever considered
Guilty Gear being right at the top of the food chain,
you know, with its with its competition, just because it
just wasn't as big as the rest, and then Strive
has just completely blown up. It's just nice to see
games doing well, you know. It kind of goes to
(01:00:46):
show that there's always room for a new game, you know,
another franchise, even a franchise you might deem dead or
too small or niche.
Speaker 2 (01:00:55):
And we talk about this often. Is back in like
twenty twelve, there's like this this sense that there's too
many fighting games being re released because I think it
was just like there was just not like the the
fan base for them was just not as big as
they are as it is now. We're like old heads
new people. Like back in twenty twelve and like, you know,
Street Fighter four was still going, you know, MK nine
(01:01:17):
was still going I think at that point, oh yeah,
and then like street Fight across techn was like okay,
but then now Ultra street Fighter four and then all
the various ports and HD releases and stuff like things
were not selling very well. And now it's like at
least things are selling you know, pretty well on launch,
but then is continuing through DLC because that's the way
(01:01:39):
the industry is now. It seems to settle into this
sort of like market where it's like games are just
doing fine as as they are with all the content
coming out, and it seems to be sustaining along with
all the HD collections that are also doing well, like
the Marvel versus Capcom collection, Like once it's physical came out,
it shot up up again on Amazon as like one
(01:02:02):
of the you know, like shot up like something like
sixty points. So it's just nice that like, yeah, everything's
still you know, doing well. Of course, there's discourse for
every single game. Tech Tecanade's dead, Street Fire six is dead,
Okay one is dead. They're all dead.
Speaker 1 (01:02:18):
Let's go back to Street five, five and seven, More
Combat eleven.
Speaker 2 (01:02:23):
Yeah, so let's do it with that. Justin what what
did you play the most and enjoy in twenty twenty
four In terms of fighting games.
Speaker 3 (01:02:31):
I would say I put a fair amount to every
game except for Strive because I only played Strive like
when the game first came out during the pandemic. But
when Mortal Kombat one first came out, I enjoyed just
the Baraka Cyrax, Like that was so fun. Yeah, it was.
It was so good. And then Street Fir six obviously
(01:02:54):
the new DLC characters they were really cool with, like Bison,
the Kuma. Addition, uh Tech and eight, I mean it
was very explosive. Everyone was having a blast playing Tech
in it because they finally like added amazing rollback to
a three D fighting game, right, so there was that
option that was really really cool, and they had the
whole stage am slam thing. So I was like playing
(01:03:16):
a lot of Tech and the teaching a lot of
tech and and then Grand Blue. I played so much
a Grand Blue as well too, because it was one
of those games I really enjoyed during the pandemic. But
the net code was asked so pretty much lot. It
was really hard to play the game when you're just
stuck at home. By Rising, they had rollback, they had
all these new features, they add a new mechanics, so
(01:03:36):
that was really cool. Obviously I played the crap out
of the Morrows capcom collection really as well too. Yeah,
just I played a fair amount, and you know, I
think everybody, I think I personally think everybody had fun
playing against the Wazzler.
Speaker 2 (01:03:51):
So that was legally change your name now.
Speaker 3 (01:03:56):
I actually be anytime I sign up to like a
new game and it's like, what's your game? I actually
just put Waler now.
Speaker 2 (01:04:01):
Yeah, but Marble Rivals fucked that over. Someone took it right. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:04:06):
I had to put a number a bastard Likeler fifteen
or something.
Speaker 1 (01:04:10):
Should have been number one.
Speaker 2 (01:04:13):
Yeah, number one Onler.
Speaker 3 (01:04:17):
I don't know. I feel like that's like what young
people would put at number the number one player, the
number number one tank at A or something.
Speaker 1 (01:04:24):
You want to go like three sixty Days. Omg, it's
Usler yea, OMG.
Speaker 3 (01:04:28):
The Xax that's the aim days well dot Com Yeah,
Wajor Dragons. I played also sbc ks I play. I
mean anything that's fighting and related, I'll probably buy it
and give it a shot, you know. So even Virtue Fighter.
Virtue Fighter was was really cool. With the revel with
the beta that was only for a few days, that
(01:04:49):
was super fun as well too. I actually been in
a mood lately, and I've been like going through the
indie fighting games that have been coming out in twenty
twenty four and twenty twenty five as well too, So
I've been trying to play a lot more dose as well,
to just give it a shot, just because, you know,
I feel I feel like now because so many fighting
(01:05:09):
games are getting so popular, like everyone's like going to
play the trip Away titles and everything, you know, that
I feel bad for the indie fighting games, you know,
So I wanted to play a bit more doze and
try to like show some light to those games. So
we'll see. But I'm I'm I just played the crap
to the fighting games. That's really all I play. I
don't really play much other games, but when I do,
(01:05:32):
I get too absorb. I think the last the last
three months, I played Metaphor and I was like loving
Metaphor too much, So I didn't play fighting games for
like at least like I would say a month.
Speaker 2 (01:05:46):
Yeah, like we talked about we're talking about Clive and
Tech and eight that for like a good couple of weeks.
I was just playing Final Fantasy sixteen on PC because
it just released, and I don't know why, Like the
game is like solid, it is what it is, but
like it's not that great or a complex of an RPG,
but it's not supposed to be. But I was absorbed
with that for a while, so I saw playing like
(01:06:07):
almost everything else. Yeah, and then like the Castlevania DLC
and Vampire Survivors like Consume Me and like I'm still
not done unlocking any anything in that. But yeah, like
we talked about a bit with gyle Winco Whereas like
I was saying, how all the major fighting games, like
I did enjoy them quite a bit when they launched,
(01:06:29):
but you know, I dropped off them pretty quickly because
as I'm not as fighting game focused as you or
or as Ryan or as Max are, where it's like
you know that's the majority of what you're playing. I
you know, I definitely have a focus on fighting games,
but it's like, you know, mostly a lot of other
(01:06:49):
stuff too, So I kind of bounced around quite a bit.
But when Terry came out in Street Fighter six, that
was like my impetus to like, okay, let me now
go and actually plays as a Kuma because when he
came out originally I didn't download him right away, so
I was enjoying him. Then I did enjoy Bison for
quite a bit, and I really since I really anticipating
(01:07:09):
my and Elena, like I really hope those characters like
are like they nailed it with them, because that's three
the last three DLC characters are ones that I wanted
to play and hopefully they're really fun. So they got
street Fighter six, Like I did play that the most
throughout the year. And while I wish costumes were way way,
(01:07:31):
way more frequent than what they do, because I will
purchase them if they're if they're good for the characters
I like. And while you know, some of the DLC
scheduling seems like really inconsistent, Well you'll go months without
news at all and then two or three characters will
released in close proximity to each other. There's always issues,
literally issues with every game, but I still anticipate myself
(01:07:54):
playing the rest of the DLC as it comes out
in twenty twenty five. For me, I want to like
give a give a shout out to like Rage of
the Dragons. That was a really good port. I was
really enjoying playing that, and like you know, I tag
fighter that very few people talk about outside of like
Brazil or Mexico, So big shouts for that if and
(01:08:16):
no one's ever tried it. That's I believe, still out
only on Steam Rage of the Dragons or to come
my own consoles.
Speaker 3 (01:08:22):
I'm not sure. I only I usually only play games
on Steam anyway, right, This is this is what it
comes down to.
Speaker 2 (01:08:29):
Yeah, the only game where I kind of felt like,
you know, I want to get back into this, but
I'm just there's just something about you know, the DLC
or how things are going. It is just not exciting me.
Is teching eight? Like I still haven't started up that
additional story chapter that got released. I I think I
downloaded Eddie, but I didn't play as him, and I
(01:08:51):
didn't try uh Heyhachi or or uh so, uh yeah,
so BSCA uh so oh lydia, lydia, lydia, lydia. Yeah,
and Clive too. Yeah, So I just like when I
go back to it or thinking about going back to him,
just like you know, like if I'm going to play
(01:09:12):
a fighting game, like, you know, let me start up
Street Fighter six, because they do think I generally had
more more fun with that and Mortal Kombat one. I do. Like, yeah,
like I said before, I do want to try Nube
and yeah, I am interested in T one thousand in
terms of how he plays. Like it's still kind of
odd that we're doing Mortal Terminator to DLC, but still
(01:09:36):
because at least the the Arnie in m K eleven was, hey,
we're kind of doing old Arnie as well, like the
Gray Terminator, so that kind of fed into Dark Fate,
which came out you know, a few months prior, et cetera,
et cetera, So that kind of still made sense to me.
But yeah, like and of course, you know, Marvel versus
Capcom collection was a big one, Like they did such
(01:09:58):
a fantastic job with that and preserving the museum, the
online and stuff, which would lead me into talking about
what we're looking forward to the most in twenty twenty five. Ryan,
you mentioned Fatal Fury. Is there anything else in twenty
twenty five that's on the horizon that you're kind of
interested in? Or was was that it for now.
Speaker 1 (01:10:19):
My most anticipated of this year? Like, I've got three
games that I'm really looking forward to and none of
them are fighting games.
Speaker 2 (01:10:25):
Sure which get out of this podcast or not?
Speaker 1 (01:10:29):
No, let me just say it was that that the
cane just comes in and I feel like, actually a
lot of people are going to relate to this. First
of all, Mons Hunter Monster Wilds. I got into mons
Hunter when they did the that sort of big resurgence happened,
you know, when they announced Wilds and people.
Speaker 3 (01:10:49):
Started playing the world.
Speaker 1 (01:10:50):
Yeah, that's when I properly got into it, because I
tried it for years before in different games and just
couldn't figure out what I was doing. And then must
have started streaming and had a street full of people
that can literally tell him what he's meant to be doing.
All of a sudden, the game now makes sense. He
then tells me we both get into it. We're now
both monts Hunt are obsessed, so excited to get into
a Monster Hunter with prior knowledge, so I don't feel
(01:11:13):
like I'm starting from the very beginning. I can get
excited over the new changes and understand those changes, so
very very much excited for that. The other two games
I can't believe I'm going to be able to play
new versions of in the same year is a new
Doom and a new tu Rok.
Speaker 2 (01:11:30):
Yeah. Yeah, So I'm glad it's to Rock because I
know you're into Turnoff, but I'm glad to know now
that it's like top three anticipated for me, and I
think maybe this will echo over to you as well.
It's like trepiditiously excited for it because I do kind
of feel from what they've shown, which admittably isn't a lot,
(01:11:53):
and it wasn't even like, you know, full gameplay, I'm like,
this could be something I actually really don't like. I
hope it's not, but I'm still very happy that this
exists in Turrok's a thing. It's just I'm not fully
convinced this is exactly what I wanted, but you know,
we'll see.
Speaker 1 (01:12:10):
I feel pretty much the same. Turok is one of
my favorite franchises ever since I first started playing games.
It's actually interesting. You know. You mentioned you're doing like
a sort of retrospect on like some of the Sam
Show stuff. I'm actually working on a retrospect for the
Turok franchise on video games. So I spent a lot
of today recording the PC version of the two thousand
(01:12:33):
and eight Turoc that came out. So, you know, I'm
kind of getting a broad spectrum of because I've played
every Turok anyway, but I'm getting to remind myself a
really wide variety of you know, there's definitely been the
best and there's definitely been the worst. I'm just hoping
that this new Turok still feels like Turok. You know,
in some way. The third person does concern me. But
(01:12:55):
as long as the weapons have a real you know,
waight to them, and the combat loop is enjoyable, and
the enemy variety is a big one. It can't be
just dinosaurs because Torock isn't just dinosaurs. It's it's monsters.
It's aliens. Yeah, exactly, so.
Speaker 2 (01:13:12):
Weird just flora and fauna like scorpions or bugs and
like things like it's a menagerie of enemies.
Speaker 1 (01:13:19):
Really absolutely, So you know, I hope and story wise
looks kind of faithful. It looks like you're all playing
as different to Rocks. There is not just one to
rock with the mantle. Now. They mentioned an alien invasion,
an alien threat that threatened to humanity, so there's a
lot of possibilities to kind of go a little bit
into like Tourok two Primagen with the elites and you know,
(01:13:41):
the light Ship and whatever. So there's a lot of potential.
And then yeah, Doom Dark Ages don't really need to
explain that too much. Love Doom. Doom Maternal was fantastic.
Doom Dark Ages looks like very much a similar sort
of game with different gameplayments and a different setting. Kind
of looks like they wanted to make Quake, but Doom
was what they had to do. Yeah, yeah, I just
(01:14:03):
I'm just very excited for a lot of my favorite
games coming back and then Mons being sort of the
new one for me.
Speaker 2 (01:14:13):
What about you? Just in twenty twenty five, what's looking hot?
I don't know, you know, I got I got one
in the back of my head, Like let's let's let's
just say City of the Wolves is the obvious.
Speaker 3 (01:14:26):
Yeah, I mean, City Wolves is definitely hot, Like I'm
excited for City Wolf.
Speaker 2 (01:14:29):
What's the other fighting game release that you should be
excited about? Like it's old though.
Speaker 3 (01:14:37):
Wait, there's another one to see. There's Hunter Hunter there is.
Speaker 1 (01:14:43):
It's not Scale Viviviva.
Speaker 3 (01:14:47):
Am I tripping?
Speaker 1 (01:14:48):
There's a new Virtue of Fire coming out in't well? Oh,
I mean we.
Speaker 3 (01:14:52):
Don't know when vir six. No, we know, we don't
know when Virgin Fire six comes out. But Virtual Fighter
five Rebel is coming on Steam at the end of
this month.
Speaker 2 (01:15:01):
Yeah, but it's virtual.
Speaker 3 (01:15:04):
Yeah, I mean I'm excited because it's.
Speaker 2 (01:15:06):
Okay, it's really pretty.
Speaker 3 (01:15:07):
It's old, it's old, it's really pretty.
Speaker 2 (01:15:10):
It's old game game talking about it's old games.
Speaker 1 (01:15:14):
Oh, I know what you're talking about.
Speaker 3 (01:15:16):
Oh, the CVS Collections Collection, even though I love you
know what. The funniest part is it's not even called
the CVS Collection, but we just refer to the CVS
Collection Collection too. Right, I'm excited for that, So that's
you know, I think of it as like it's another
like NBC collection, but with CVS, Like, am I gonna play?
(01:15:38):
You know? Still to this day, I have not played
any other game on the collection besides Marvel two and
I feel like the CFC two might be the same thing.
I might only just play CVS two.
Speaker 2 (01:15:50):
No not maybe Powerstone. You're not going to play Powerstone
Arrival Schools okay to walk out.
Speaker 1 (01:15:57):
The thing is there's people online to terror rite. You
don't understand.
Speaker 2 (01:16:01):
Yes, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:16:02):
I actually had a blast playing Plasma Sword getting ready
for it. But three Alpha three Upper it's not good
compared to regular Alpha three. I'll give you that, all right,
Capcom Fighting jam, like.
Speaker 2 (01:16:13):
You know you need to terrorize people in that at
least one video, at least one session.
Speaker 3 (01:16:20):
Well, maybe maybe we'll see this is it's it's a
terrible pick. Parerstone one is very good, but I personally
did not like Parstone two.
Speaker 2 (01:16:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:16:29):
We just playing through Powerstone two. I'm like, man, what
Parstone one was so good? What happened? That's what I
was thinking right when I was playing Parstone two, Like
what did you guys do keep? Why did you keep
it the same way like Parstone one?
Speaker 2 (01:16:40):
Max was moderating us last time we talked about this,
where he's like, Powerstone two is a fantastic party game.
Powerstone one is a fantastic fighting game. There's a different
and I was like, Okay, that's almost so good that.
Speaker 3 (01:16:56):
It was amazing. I would say it would be saved
with Ketchup though. At least Monster are in a Wild's right,
that's going to be super popular. But I don't even
know what other games are coming out besides the fighting games.
Speaker 2 (01:17:09):
Yes, when it's the start of the year, like I,
you know, you look at like stores like storefronts for
your consoles or Steam, and you look what's coming up,
and there's only like a couple of games that have
like their pages ready to go, like say this is
coming on twenty twenty five, there's only like a handful,
so it's hard to remember for me, Like I would say,
yes easily City of the Wolf. So it's like my
(01:17:31):
most anticipated at least fighting game, because every time I've
gotten hands on it's great. We've talked about it at
nauseum on the podcast. But yeah, Capcom Fighting Collection two
is another big one because again throughout this entire run
of our podcast, we've constantly been like, these games are
never going to come out ever. Again, there's never going
to be a new Powerstone collection. You just can't like
(01:17:54):
logistically do it, like you know, three D games in
a collection they're harder to do and mix them with
two like so that is definitely like a dream collection,
like even more so than the other ones will come
out for me. But like two non fighting games looking
forward to is Meddle Gear Solid three Snake Eater Delta.
Oh yes, Meddle Gear Solid three is like my top
(01:18:15):
five and my top five of games. Ever, so you know,
bringing David Hayter in and all the voice actors and them, like,
you know, doing a lot of great promo work for
the game has really made me like get hyped up
for it. Even though it doesn't have a month date.
I can't it's twenty twenty five for sure because they
already have a pre order page for it. So that
(01:18:38):
and then the new Double Dragon Double Dragon Revive.
Speaker 3 (01:18:42):
I've been getting with the Dark System one.
Speaker 2 (01:18:43):
Yeah it's eRx System one, even though I haven't gone
hands on with it. Good friend Liam was at Tokyo
Game Show this year and did play it, and he
is a self proclaimed beat him up snob. He turns
his thumb and his nose up most beauty bops because
they're not his cup of tea. They don't play like
(01:19:03):
Streets of Rage one or two. But he said, Actually,
I really enjoyed playing it, like it was really fun mechanics,
and I would purchase this, Like, I was pretty impressed
with it. And the game is like months and months away.
It's got like an October release date. Got a bunch
of characters in there, so you know, really looking forward
to that in twenty twenty five. For Max is not here,
(01:19:27):
but I'll just also echo Monster Hunter for him as well.
I think that No, I think that's safe.
Speaker 1 (01:19:34):
Yeah, two XKO doesn't have a set release date yet,
does it don't.
Speaker 3 (01:19:38):
I think it just says twenty twenty five, right.
Speaker 1 (01:19:41):
If it is twenty twenty five, I will add that
to my list. Because the co op the two v
two in that must have and I had so much
fun arguing with each other.
Speaker 3 (01:19:51):
That was my favorite favorite part of the alpha test Alpha,
isn't it?
Speaker 1 (01:19:55):
It was was.
Speaker 3 (01:19:57):
The two v two and you know you're communicating. Yeah,
I didn't care too much about solos as much as
because it's like every character is the same, like you know,
like it's just like all big combo rinse, repeat, whatever.
But arguing with your with the partner, that's like do this,
do that, It's it's good, right, when obviously when the
(01:20:17):
when you when it doesn't work, you're just like, oh,
it's your faul, it's your fat. But when it does work,
it feels freaking amazing.
Speaker 1 (01:20:24):
Definitely, if that is twenty twenty five, then I will
obviously add that to my list.
Speaker 2 (01:20:28):
But it if it is twenty twenty five, it will
be on my list depending on one factor that VI
is announced for it from Legal Legends slash Arcane, and
it's the specific VI where she's a pit fighter and
then she like you know, dyes her hair black and
has a cool black jacket with like a logo with
two chomping dogs. She looks so fucking cool. So if
(01:20:51):
she gets announced and she has that skin, I'm like, okay,
no two x KO, you're back on the menu because.
Speaker 1 (01:20:57):
I show if she doesn't have that skin, come down
later down the line, you'll make a transaction and I'm
sure it will exist.
Speaker 2 (01:21:04):
I will, yeah, you know, I'll like, I know one
or two people that work there. I'll be like, I'll
petition them super hard. If that's not already.
Speaker 1 (01:21:11):
Games, that game will make so much money through skins alone,
I know what I mean. It's league, it's gonna it's
gonna have skins pretty much.
Speaker 2 (01:21:18):
But yeah, I guess that's about it for today's episode, Ryan,
Where can people find you on the internet?
Speaker 1 (01:21:26):
You can find me mostly on YouTube. P and D
K and M. That's short for Ketchup and Mustard, my
brother Mustard, who is the streamer of the two of
us streams on twitch dot tv Forward Slash P and
d K and M. So my channel is a lot
of Mortal Combat as you might expect, but I do
try and do other games when I can, and that's
(01:21:47):
actually something I want to do more this year is
focus on some other old fighting games that I grew
up with, like dark Rift and the like names those
that know, no, yeah I know, and you know real quick.
Actually I don't know. This is a plug, but I
did discover the dark Rift uncompressed PC soundtrack by loading
it in a USB CD player. I put the PC
(01:22:11):
game in, I opened the disc and it just brought
up all the music uncompressed in sixty four and it
was like the Holy Grail. It's like I just found
a pot of gold.
Speaker 2 (01:22:21):
Because it is great music that game specifically it is.
Speaker 1 (01:22:24):
It's it's good memories. But yeah, just YouTube for P
and DK and m Twitch for P and DK and
M variety fighting games, all that nerdy stuff, and thank
you for having me.
Speaker 2 (01:22:33):
It's a pleasure, no problem, thank you. So yeah, we'll
return next time with Max in tow and he'll talk
about Monster Hunter a bunch, so just see everyone until then.
