Hello, everybody, Welcome is the Fret Show. I am your host,
Jeremy Lapitis. Today is Wednesday, September twenty fourth. Hope everybody's
having a great day so far. It is a big day.
It is Power Ranking Wednesday, NFL Tiers Wednesday. We're gonna
(01:35):
go overall thirty two teams in the NFL today. I
am joined by my two friends and co hosts, may
Rob Fittemi and Nolan Jamber Here. They're gonna help me
break down each and every single team in the NFL.
If you are new here, remember give us a follow

(02:19):
or NFL Tiers here in just a second, but we're
also going to get into a Thursday night preview, a
divisional matchup between the Seahawks and the Cardinals, a really
big one in a division that feels like it's up
for grabs, and the loser of that game is going
to lose a lot of ground I think very important.
And then the May Rob Minute makes its triumphant return.
(02:41):
As the NBA season is right around the corner, we'll
talk about all of that and more, But like I said,
we got to start off with the NFL tiers as
we do each and every single Wednesday. We're gonna get
into it starting at that awful tier back down to
two teams that really do like that spot, the Saints
and the Dolphins. The Saints look like a team that
(03:03):
is lost out there. They just got absolutely kicked in
by the by the Seahawks, who play on Thursday tomorrow.
And the Dolphins. They move up a spot. They're no
longer the bottom of the NFL. They're up to thirty one.
They did a little flip flop with the Saints because
you know what they looked. Okay, that's not to say
that that's an acceptable performance, but still they looked like
(03:25):
they were trying. They looked like they wanted, not their
coach not to get fired. And that is a huge
huge win for the Dolphins, at least morally. They're still
in the awful tier. Those are two teams that I
think are worse than everybody else by a mile. But
congratulations to the Dolphins moving up one spot after keeping
competitive against a pretty solid Bills team.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
These two teams are just no doubt about it, the
two Obviously, we all know it's the two worst teams.
And we all went in the season saying, we all
know the Dolphins are gonna suck, and if we all
know the Saints are gonna be bad, But I didn't.
I thought it'd be a little better than this. I
knew they weren't gonna be good, but I didn't think
there'd be an zero to three start. I thought that'd
be at least one and two by now. But look
at us. Now, we got Spencer Ratlers starting at quarterbacks.
(04:09):
I mean, you're not gonna win games and you have
a guy who's never won a game in the NFL
starting at quarterback. That's just all you got going for
the Saints.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
Saints, Yeah, not much good at all.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
They're really like I was sall this earlier. I was like,
you talked about, you know, being a fan of bad
sports teams, Like what do the Saints even do? Like
do they even practice? Like do they even make waked
up going to practice? Like what do they like?
Speaker 5 (04:30):
You?
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Just what do they do? But whatever? Besides that, the
Dolphins look good. They actually look pretty good against one
of the best defense in the best teams in the NFL.
Against the Bills. They lost by ten. It was a
good ten. They were constantly in the game, constantly scoring.
If two wouldn't throw that last take in that last
two minutes spent at forty, they could have came back,
they would have kept it within three points. But they
(04:52):
can't win them all. I mean, the offense look good too,
will look better. You only have to have one interception.
Tyry Kell look good, a chain looked good, waddle he
looked at. Okay, I mean the defense is obviously the repoint.
But the Dolphins, I look at They were actually trying
to win a game for once, which is kind of surprising.
But still at the end of the year, I think,
to what and Michaelanganas will be gone? That's just what
I think. But yeah, they both both these teams still
(05:13):
stand still and three and the Dolphins got those cool
new all black uniforms coming out this week. I'd be
kind of cool to see it look nice.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
I mean, that's like I mean, speaking of all all
all black uniforms, that looked nice. How about the Cleveland Browns, right,
that's a Cleveland Browns UNI that I really liked, and
they are they're they're kicking off that bad tier for
us here, Nolan. They are number thirty in our power rankings. Here,
this is not a good Browns team. They get the
(05:40):
biggest win, the biggest win of the NFL season we've
seen so far, the biggest upset, I should say of
the NFL season so far. But the Browns at number
thirty here, they're still not good. That defense, I will say,
maybe the best in the NFL. The offense, on the
other hand, oh uh, we don't really need to go there.
(06:01):
It's not a great offense. And there's a reason that
they are one and two and probably should be zero
and three. At number twenty nine, I've got the New
York Giants. They make a big switch to Jackson Dart
so I'm not quite ready to throw them into the
awful tier. But if Russ was starting this week, they
would be down there. That's where they would be sitting.
This is a Giants team that kind of similar to
(06:22):
the Browns, has a really good defense, and they're kind
of built like the Browns, except the Browns have a
better defense and the Giants have a slightly better offense.
I think the defense can carry a team with a
awful offense easier than a good defense can carry a
bad offense, and we're starting to see that with the
Browns and the Giants. But I do think that if
(06:43):
they played, the Giants would come out on top on
that one, but it would be a very close game.
Right next to them, they're buddies in the meadowlands. The
Jets at number twenty eight a heartbreaking loss for them.
It looked like they were going to be in there
a block field goer for return for a touchdown, one
way to get you hopes up, but then Baker Mayfield
just goes and snatches it away. What a way to
(07:04):
lose a game over there for the Jets. But there
are some really positive signs. That was without their starting quarterback,
that was with a backup Tyrod Taylor. Maybe a little
bit of a QB controversy starting in New York over there,
and then the Titans they round out the bad tier.
This is really only because of Brian Callahan. And that's
not to say that the rest of this team is
without its faults. Right, cam Ward isn't perfect. He's been
(07:26):
playing really good, but he's not perfect. This is a
Titans team that needs to fire Brian Callahan. I think
Brian Callahan has the hottest seat in the NFL out
of literally anybody, out of any coach that could get fired,
I think he's the one that goes first. He's just
relinquished play calling duties as an offensive coach, one that's struggling.
That's nothing you really ever want to see.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
Probs was on you.
Speaker 5 (07:53):
Yeah, absolutely, I mean nobody wants to see that. This
is a Jets team that, with Aaron Glenn, thought could
be some You bring in Aaron Glenn, the defensive coordinator
for the for the Lions, and yes, the Jets defense
has looked a little bit better. Yes, you bring in
Justin Fields and it looks like that Jets offense, at
least in Week one, looked like it could have been
(08:13):
something new, something revamped. Where we saw Breeze Hall re emerge,
we saw Garrett Wilson show up in a big way.
But I mean outside of those that last fourth quarter,
those last five six minutes of that fourth quarter where
they somehow pulled it together and took that lead against
the Bucks before Baker Mayfield went crazy and did his
showtime Mayfield letting Baker cook, Baker bake, whatever, we talk,
(08:38):
whatever you want to call it. They just came out
of nowhere with that. Before that, they had no offense.
They were down twenty seven to six, twenty seven to six,
they were getting their butts cleaned, whooped like there was
this game was not close whatsoever. So and then when
you look at the Bucks side of things, they get
Godwin back most likely either this week or next week.
(08:59):
I Bukas showing up in a big way as the
rookie over there. Even though you're losing Mike Evans for
a little bit, you still have Bucky Irving with Rashad White.
That defense is still pretty good across the board. This
is still a good Bucks team. Are they going to be?
Where do you have them right now?
Speaker 3 (09:13):
Jeremy sitting in the Bucks.
Speaker 4 (09:14):
We'll get to them in a second.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
I've got the Bucks all the way up at number nine,
so cruising into the top ten. But we will get
to the bucks later on here.
Speaker 5 (09:25):
Perfect, perfect, But yeah, when we're talking about the Jets
have got a whole lot to work on and hopefully
a bounce back week against the Patriots coming up this weekend.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Yeah yeah, moving on to the moving on to our
next tier over here, Nolan, we have onto our tier
that I like to call the EH.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
I think they're bad tier.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
I'm not really sure how to feel about these teams,
but if I had to choose right now, gun to
my head, I would say that these teams probably bad.
We've got a lot more teams in this category than
we did last week because a lot of teams had
bad weeks. Cowboys sitting at the bottom of this they
have the worst defense in the NFL. Not only have
(10:06):
they allowed now four hundred and fifty passing yards to
Russell Wilson the week before he gets benched, they then
allow Kayla Williams to go his first game of his
entire NFL career without getting sacked. That's the first time
that's ever happened. That is not a good look for
a Cowboys defense that usually prides itself on its ability
to get pressure on the quarterback and its ability to
(10:28):
stop the deep ball. Both of those things not working
at all with this Cowboys personnel, with this Cowboys defense.
And now they go to play Micah Parsons and the
Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. That's gonna be a little
bit of a blood lath over there. I don't really
see it. Ceedee Lamb is injured as well. It's not
helping this Cowboys team. Dak Prescott needs to put on
his superhuman cape, becomes Superman and make this Cowboys team
(10:51):
do something if they're going to be anything at all
this year. In that same vein, I've got the I've
got the Las Vegas Raiders. Gino Smith?
Speaker 4 (10:58):
Where are you?
Speaker 2 (10:59):
Where is this Geno Smith? This is Jets Geno Smith.
We need him to turn it around. Trey Tucker quietest
one hundred and forty five yard, three touchdown game maybe
in the history of the NFL last week, it's insane.
He's having a very good season. They need to get
Ashton Genty going. But that offensive line is really, really bad.
The defense isn't great, but it's not as bad as
(11:20):
the Cowboys, so I'm not going to complain too much
about it. The Raiders, they're not great, but I still
see the potential with this team. Pete Carroll's a very
good coach. Ashton Genty has it. You still have Brock Bowers,
you have Jacoby Meyers, Trey Tucker, a Dante Thornton who
I really like as a deep threat, and you have
Geno Smith. You've got a lot of options on offense,
and you've got Max Crosby on defense. So you're never
(11:41):
really out of it. But they are leaning towards bad
the Bears. I moved out of the bad tier. Snaps
for the Bears. Congratulations to the Bears. They've moved up.
The Bears no longer bad, They're just I'm pretty sure
they're bad. I want to give him credit because they
put up a lot of points and Caleb Williams looked
really good for the first time in his career. Really,
but also again grain of salt for you. They were
(12:04):
playing the Cowboys defense, which, as we established, the worst
defense in the NFL. So I don't know how much
we're really going to be able to take from that one.
We'll have to see when they play this week. That
is going to be a huge test to see if
this is a real Bears squad or not. They got
the Raiders, so it's not necessarily an impossible matchup. I
think they do win that one. Patriots above the Bears.
(12:26):
Though the Patriots did not want to win that game.
They simply didn't. Five turnovers, including two turnovers inside of
the two yard line. Ramandre Stevenson needs to get benched.
He's fumbled twice in that game, sixteen times over his
young career. That is unacceptable. He worked in the offseason
to stop the fumbles. It has not stopped. You. Draft
Trevion Henderson. Use Travion Henderson. I think that was the
(12:49):
last straw for Ramandre Stevenson. I don't see him getting
that lead back roll back unless Traveon Henderson turns into
a fumble machine as well. And we rounded out with
the Steelers. They also didn't want to win that game.
The Patriots kept trying to hand the game to them,
and eventually they did with their wide receiver taking a
step back when he already had the first down that
would have kept the game going. But the Steelers defense
(13:10):
is concerning. They let the Patriots drive up and down
the field. They made a couple big plays, but the
offense for the Steelers managed just twenty one points. In
a game where again the Patriots turn the ball over
five times, you need to score more than twenty one
points in that situation. The Steelers defense needs to be better.
The Steelers offense needs to be better. But you've got
(13:31):
Steelers Devil Magic and you can't really put them in
the bad tier. While they've got Mike Tomlin at the helm,
they're at the top of the I don't know, I
think they're bad tier.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
I mean, both those teams are kind of as of
right now. You can look at those teams say these
are both defensive teams because both I mean obviously both
obviously the Patriots holding the Steers are twenty one. Well,
you have one of the greatest quarterbacks of all the
time on your team. We will ever week one to
talk about Yo, this Steelers team could be legit at
Aaron Rodgers. Those were four hundred yards and four touchdowns
every week. Again the guy that's the Jets defense. But
(14:01):
we were talking about them and that hasn't happened since
he's I mean, the Patriots had a good defense. They're
like they're same, they're both great defenses and Descent are
great defenses. Mediacre offense they have like the Hunter, Henry
half Fire both had good game. Hunter Henry look phenomenal,
two touchdowns, Drake may look good and right. And then
the Steers offense just I mean looks okay, Pat Firmans
(14:22):
had a good game. Aaron Rodgers like mediocre Frere and
Rodgers standers but overall just adult gamaging two kind of
dull teams, honestly, Bears. I mean they won against the Cowboys,
like you said, possibly the worst pass defense in the
league past or worse or worst pass defense, worst run defense,
(14:42):
worst overall defense like you've been saying. Obviously you'll lose
Michael Parsons the best the best d lamb in the NFL,
or Juster or whatever. I mean, that's gonna you know,
it's gonna affect you a lot. But forty one points
on the Cowboys, that team, that defense is don't get
me wrong. The offense is good, Madoue. He's a great receiver,
Camplin's look great. You have Colston Lovelin. Now, I mean,
(15:04):
you're a good offense. He has some good weapons. It's
just I mean that offense respectfully should not be putting
up forty one.
Speaker 5 (15:11):
Points in the game.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
I think they're good. I don't think they're that good though.
But granted, just me come from from a Lions fan,
but just saying, I mean, congrats, first win season. They
just start zero to three. So Ben Johnson's getting his
flowers from Bears fans, so I'll give him from that.
But yeah, this wee against the Raiders. Will we'll really
see you know at this because it'll be That's also
a game where it's kind of like, well, no, the
Bears have the upper hand, but they have the better defense.
(15:33):
In my opinion, they she have a really good defense.
The secondary is great. Dane Liman actually is a pretty
good pressure. But in their offense just well, they perform
against a very good Raiders defense. Good to the Raiders
offense look good too. Now, like I said, if Gino
Smith performs when he performs, he saw last year in
Seattle he was a phenomenal quarterback. He had good weapons,
and he has good weapons now in Oakland or sorry
(15:54):
Las Vegas. Wow, But I mean, you have Ashton gent
the number one running back off the board. You have
Brock Powers, the best tied in the NFL. You have
Jacobe Myers one of the honestly the most slept down
receivers in the NFL. You have Trey turned was that
Trey Johnson? I don't remember his name because I've never
heard of this game before. I mean, you have three
touchdowns one hundred and forty five yards. This guy's a
(16:14):
fantasy merchant. Now he's off every waiver wire ever. Does
he ever put up two touchdowns in a game this season? Again?
Of it? But hey, I mean he had his good week,
had a good week, and they got the win. So
they lost. Sorry, but yeah, I mean the Raiders, man
who knows, and then the Cowboys. The Cowboys without Ceedee
(16:35):
Lamb gonna be a big problem. Dak is gonna be
the best he can with George Pickens. The Budy is
here one this week, the next few weeks. I mean,
I don't know. The defense looks horrible, offense can be good.
Dak Prescott plays like his normal self as MVP calib herself.
They could win, They could be could be fine. But
like I said, when you're number one receivers, Dak, George
Pickens his doubt, it's gonna go the way you wanted to.
Speaker 5 (16:58):
But hey, you never know.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
There's a lot of mediocre teams in the NFL. But
some of them. I still have faith in here boys.
And maybe I have some misguided faith in this Falcons
team may rab but I still believe the big question
for this Falcons team, who's the quarterback? Who is it
going to be? Is it still going to be Michael
(17:20):
Pennox After a thirty to zero trouncing by the Carolina Panthers, right,
that is a real tough look for them.
Speaker 4 (17:28):
It's a division game.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
Give them a little bit of slouch, give him a
little bit of slack there, but still you can't look
like that. You can't throw those picks. You can't be
running on your knees all over the ground trying to
make a tackle. That's that's a little bit unacceptable. It's
it's a big, big mess over there when it comes
to the U, when it comes when it comes to
the Falcons, they cut their kicker, new kicker, goes five
(17:51):
for five and then immediately goes over too.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
Not a good look.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
They'll figure it out, but the Panthers sliding right above them.
I'm been a big supporter of Bryce Young, been a
big supporter of Dave Canalis. I still think they've got it,
and really, the last five quarters of football that they've played,
they've showed that they've got a shot, a little bit
of a shot, a real shot in that division, potentially
making a little bit of a playoff run. We're only
(18:15):
three weeks in. Let's not too get let's not get
too lofty here, but there is definitely reason to be
excited if you're Carolina. The Bengals slot in here, and
again maybe another team that I still shouldn't have in
this good tier. I know what we just saw. They
got absolutely demolished by the Vikings, who are one spot
above them here. But the Vikings defense is really good,
(18:37):
and we have a backup quarterback against Brian Flores' scheme,
Brian Flores' defense that's gonna be the result a lot
of the time. This is a Bengals defense that's also atrocious.
You let up forty eight points. Not a good look.
But again, fourteen of those points came from one defensive player,
so it's not all on the Bengals defense. Jake Browning
needs to play better. Really, all of the Bengals need
to play better. They have a big reset game this week.
(19:00):
Hopefully they'll get it right. Otherwise they're gonna fall real
far down These tiers. The Vikings played a perfect game
of football. Carson Wentz didn't have to do anything, and
now he's getting all the praise. Is he going to
usurp JJ McCarthy as the starting quarterback. I think there's
a real shot he has to play good in Ireland
this week, but that's gonna be a real real test
for them. The Cardinals in the Seahawks the two Thursday
(19:22):
night games. They're back to back here as well. I
put the Seahawks one spot above them. That defense for
the Seahawks is elite. I still worry about that offensive line.
I still worry about Kyler Murray and his ability to
get it to his receivers, and even when he gets
it to his receivers, I worry about their ability to
catch the ball a little bit. It is definitely concerning
for me to see. But I still believe in both
(19:45):
of these teams. I think they're still probably good. And
the last team I've gotten this tier rounding it out
here the Jacksonville Jaguars. This is the Jaguars team that's
coming in all the way at number fifteen in our
power rankings, were a little more than halfway through the
NFL put him as the first team out of the playoffs.
Trevor Lawrence hasn't played his best football neither as BTJ,
but that defense has really stepped up. You go from
(20:07):
a defense that was one of the worst in football
last year may rob to one of the best in
football this year through three weeks. That is incredibly impressive
and they deserve a lot of props for that. This
is a team that's going to keep pace for the division,
and this is a team that I think, at this
stage in the season probably does.
Speaker 4 (20:25):
End up winning it.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
Now that being said, I do have two of their
division opponents ahead of them still in the power rankings,
so I don't know what that says about me, but
I think this is a Jaguars team that has real
promise for the future as long as their receivers figure
out how to catch the ball.
Speaker 5 (20:45):
Yeah, I mean this is when we're going when we're
going back down the list here, I'm gonna start from
the back really quick, really quick. The Falcons and the
Pants's no problem with them staying in this tier, in
the good tier, but the starting with the Bengals, I'm
right there with you, Jeremy. I think you know it too.
The Bengals need to go down a tier. I know
they still have Jamar, Chase t Higgins, Chase Brown, they
(21:06):
still have a good team, Trey Hendrickson on the back,
on the defensive line, but it starts with the quarterback.
And Jake Browning looked absolutely atrocious against the Minnesota Vikings
this past weekend. Only put up what about ten points
in that game. T Higgins looks like looks miserable. The
defenses are stacking the box against Chase Brown, not letting
(21:28):
him get an inch because they know that's how Zach
Taylor loves to run his offense. That's how they get
the passing game open. The second the run game gets
going with Chase Brown, it opens up those two both
sides of the field with Chase and Higgins, and you
can't have that happening. That's what defensive defenses have been
doing against the Bengals so far with the Vikings. I mean,
(21:49):
justin Jefferson, I mean you have to be a little
bit worried about JJ McCarthy. I mean, he had a
good fourth quarter of game, one bad three quarters, but
a good fourth quarter, and then too was just bad
the entire way. Granted he got hurt, but you definitely
still need to be worried about his ability to throw
the ball, because he did not look good against the
(22:09):
Falcons in that second game.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
And even though.
Speaker 5 (22:12):
Carson Wentz has been showing some promise, and I do
think that this team will get better when they get
their left tackle back that's been hurt, and when they
get Jordan Addison back. People forget how good Jordan Addison was.
Is Addison back this week?
Speaker 4 (22:26):
Addison's blackoff suspension this week?
Speaker 5 (22:29):
Oh wow? All right? Then, yeah, this is a Vikings
team that could find themselves in the good tier by
by chance, by maybe next week or probably two weeks
from now, I'd say, depending on the qualities of wins
coming up soon. Cardinals Seahawks. I kind of have these
team two teams neck and neck, and we'll get to
this later when we preview Thursday Night football, because this
(22:51):
is gonna be a phenomenal matchup neck this Tomorrow night.
I should say, Uh, this is a Cardinals team that
did just blow a lead against the Night in the
last five minutes of the game. But they still have
Kyler Murray, still have Marvin Harrison Junior. They lose James Connor,
but they do have Trey Bensonson in the background. A
lot of people in fantasy raving about Trey Benson. I
(23:11):
personally don't see it, but hey, I'm excited to find
out what the Cardinals have in store for us, and
I don't know, there's still there's still a decent team
and this is a visional match.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
Are you worried about Marvin Harrison Junior after his rookie
year and his string of performances to start this season.
Speaker 5 (23:29):
I definitely would be a little bit. I mean, you
saw in his rookie year how many drops he had,
the lack of chemistry that he had with Kyler Murray.
I thought he was gonna be on the trade block
during the offseason, but the Cardinals bring him back and
it's been kind of the same consistent issue with him.
Dropped passes, inability to get open, giving up on plays.
Just you can't at some point, you got it. You
(23:52):
need to show some signs of growth and we did
see that in the tail end of the season last year,
so I thought he was gonna come out strong this year,
but it's just been the same tail over and over again.
I don't know. This is a Cardinals team that may
be looking out looking to ship out Marvin Harrison Junior
before the trade deadline or maybe in the offseason, depending
(24:13):
on how it all plays out. But definitely need to
see some improvements coming up soon. But the Seahawks, I'll
be really quick with these last two teams. The Seahawks
great offense, K nine Charbonne, and then you get to
the wide receiver corps. I personally think they now have
big three with Tory Horton, Cooper Cuppen, of course Jsen
over there. But I think a lot of people just
(24:33):
need to learn a little bit more about Tory Horton.
He's an absolute stud a lot of people. He's three
touchdowns in three games. In two games he didn't play
Week one. He has three touchdowns in two games as
a rookie. He's tied with a Mikagbuka with that stat
as the most touchdowns for a rookie. So there's a
lot to be There's a lot to be happy about
in Seattle. And I didn't even get to that defense.
With how good it's been looking, I think the Seahawks
(24:55):
pull out a big win tomorrow night, and we'll preview
that a little bit more like like I said later
in the show. And finally, the Jaguars by Shell, Tuton
looks like Bucky Irving two point zero from a couple
of years ago when Bucky Irving burst onto this scene.
And I think Trevor Lawrence should Trevor Lawrence should probably
(25:15):
piece this thing together over here in Jacksonville. But I've
hoping this Jaguars team to continue to put up strides
and make this an interesting AFC South.
Speaker 2 (25:25):
Yeah, for sure, this is definitely a really interesting Jaguars team.
You you bring up Tuton, he is a really fun watch, right.
This is a guy that is quick coming out of
Virginia Tech. He has explosive speed. I think Bucky Irving's
a really good comparison. It should be a lot of
fun for this Jaguars team moving forward, especially if they
(25:45):
can get Travis Hunter figured it out a little bit more.
That's gonna be a big key to watch with Liam
Cohen and his offense. But let's get a little bit
into our good tier. This always has been our shortest tier,
and maybe that's because I'm never certain on a team
that's good, and maybe they're not good. But even now,
some of these teams that have in the good tier
(26:06):
I'm not certain about, but they're certainly not playing like
their playoff level teams. That's what I'll say. The good
tier we're gonna start off at number fourteen is the
Denver Broncos. This is a Denver Broncos team that I'm
real concerned about Bo Nicks with Bo Nicks, as I
said all off season, is going to be the next
Mac Jones. There's a lot of really similar comparisons between
the two. You look at his stats. All of last season,
(26:28):
he had just three games throwing for under two hundred yards,
just three of them in this season. Three games into
the season, he's already done it twice. He has a
considerably less yards per attempt. When it comes to the
air yards that he's given up, he is just playing
a lot worse football. He's turning it over a lot more.
(26:50):
He's not having those explosive plays. The pressure is getting
to him. He's really regressed in his second year. I
think teams are starting to figure out what made bow
Nicks take a little bit bit. I don't know if
he's really gonna be able to lead this team too
far into the future, but I've always been a little
bit of a boonicks hater. So Texans still above them.
(27:10):
You say, Jeremy, they're an OH and three team. Jeremy,
what are you doing putting them in the good tier?
Let's calm Let's calm down a little bit. The Texans
are the only OH to three team in the history
of the NFL in the Super Bowl era to give
up less than fifty five points in the first three
games and still lose all three of them. This is
a Texans defense that is elite with a capital E.
(27:33):
That is an amazing defense at all three levels. They
get pressure on the quarterback. But again, the big issue.
People want to say it's CJ.
Speaker 4 (27:41):
Stroud.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
People want to say it's the receivers. People want to
say it's the run game. It's none of those. It's
the offensive line. It's the worst offensive line in football.
And they need to get that figured out if they're
gonna go everywhere anywhere at all. A massive, massive game
this week against the Titans, they lose that one all
of a sudden, it's firing. Season over in Houston. Not
(28:02):
not the way they wanted this to go. But I
still believe they'll be able to turn this around. I'm
keeping them firmly in the good tier, Nolan and the
last one, and I have this good tier round and out,
just out the top ten. Right, this is the Chiefs
team I have at number twelve, Chiefs Chiefs Seaman number
twel excuse me already, I spoiled that one a little
bit for you guys. Number twelve is the Chiefs, right,
(28:24):
This is a Chiefs team that gotta win.
Speaker 4 (28:26):
Congratulations to the Chiefs. You beat the you beat the.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
New York Giants. That's not a good win. It's not
a good win. And they didn't look particularly good while
winning that game either. They probably should have lost it.
Patrick Mahomes with two inexcusable plays, throwing the ball behind
him twice. Only one of them was called a fumble.
The second one he saved by making a really solid
defensive play. But that's not Mahomes making a play. That's
(28:52):
just kind of a fluke. I don't think Bobby o'carakay
was expecting Mahomes to come flying in and just be
a heat seeking missile for the ball. It was a
very nice but also he caused that himself. Not too
much to celebrate. If you're Mahomes, you get taekwon Thornton,
you get the offense humming a little bit. There's a
lot to be concerned about with this Chiefs team. The
defense is not as good as it was in years past,
(29:13):
and that offense really really could use an infusion of talent.
They need their wide receivers back. They're still good, but
if they lose this week to the Ravens, which I
think is a real possibility, I think we start to
talk about the Chiefs seriously missing the playoffs this season.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
Yeahletally agree. I know that this week Rashid Rice is
coming back, so that is a big thing for that.
They're getting their wide receiver. I'd say one or two.
I really can see him getting him back. You know,
Chavis Kelsey has not been the answer this season. He'sn't
been playing pretty poorly. Like you said, their defense last year,
in my opinion, is why they're winning so many games.
It's why they went what fifteen and two last year
(29:51):
fourteen and three because their defense is able to bail
them out of bad situations. Patrickhomes put him in bad spots.
But last year Patrick Holmes worst season by far, had
a great season, but for his standards horrible. This year,
he's doing the exact same thing. He's just not playing
good offense. The offensive around him isn't doing their job.
Old line is doing pretty good. It's atually kind of weird.
It's like there were skill guys are the ones not
(30:11):
doing their job. The old line is just not looking good.
I can't say right now. Their defense, I'm not sure
what happened. They were great last year. They're just taking
a huge fall off this year, just not playing. They're
playing okay, just not up to the chief standards. This
is just a questionable team that Yeah, if they lose
this week, not only can I see them missing the
playoffs if maybe, but like I've been saying, I think
(30:33):
they can honestly finish his last in their division this
year in the AFC West, I think that they're just
not as good as everybody thought they were gonna be.
And I just, yeah, I think there's clipping this last.
Possibly if he lose the rates bomantump could be a
big thing. We'll see. Then the Texans, I think the Texans,
it's just it's just weird. Like you said, Yeah, their
old line is terrible, it's not good off but they Yeah,
(30:55):
the Andgal Collins still she just Shroud isn't playing the best.
You're also doing not your receiver two Tank Dell. He's
out for the year. He's actually one of the more
underrated receivers twos and the not really more derated. But
he's a great receiver too. You know, he's reliable. He's
not that tall, but he was still getting balls. He
was strong, he was aggressive, he was making plays and
you know, it sucks seeing him go down. But this
(31:16):
is a big week. If they lose this week to
the Titans, like you said, I wouldn't say scrapped the season.
It'd be you know, four games in, but I think
the playoffs at that point are out of the picture.
But they're also in a very weak AFC South besides
the Colts. I think that you know, the Jags and
just they could know Jagson Titans will probably fighting for
that second, third and fourth. I think the Texans could
(31:38):
definitely know figure some stuff out because they're not looking bad,
not looking like a bad team. It's just that their
offensive line isn't doing their job at all. So it's
just a matter of time before they figure that out.
In the Broncos, I mean, the Broncos defense still looks
good is their strong point. That's why they have two
wins right now. It's because they're defense. But then I mean,
(32:00):
I mean, I don't know. I mean they're offense, like
he said, bow Knicks not playing the way he should be.
Just I don't know. I didn't see him starting to
or I just didn't see him starting like this. I
thought they I thought the Chargers were going to beat
loose to him, that they beat the Chargers on Thurson
or oh it's just some day story. For some reason,
I thought the Chargers was gonna lose that game. Soil
the Broncos had. You know, they're good defense. I thought
(32:20):
they be able to shut down Jay Dunston, Herbert, shut
down you know, Lad mccackey, Clinton Johnson, the whole defense
or offense. But no, they're I mean they look good.
The charge offense looks elite, looks really good. And the
Broncos couldn't handle They couldn't couldn't stop them and them
dropping there, I mean them not almost have the playoff race,
but you know, them being in the lower playoff force
something I didn't see him being. You know, with how
(32:41):
they got been saying how good their defense has been.
How was last year, I thought, you know, like I've
been saying, no matter how bad the offense is, I
think the defense, you know, could carry him to a playoff.
Right now, it doesn't look like good. I think at
this point missed the playoffs just base of how they're
playing right now.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
But goods Tier, like good Tier, is a good tier.
I like the way we end it there. Let's get
to the playoffs and then we'll get to the super
Bowl tier. May rob, but let's start with the playoffs here.
We gotta go through these teams that I think are
great but not quite super Bowl contender worthy. Right now,
I have eleven all the way down to seven in
(33:17):
this tier. We'll start off at number eleven, get into
the top ten. That's how countdowns go. The San Francisco
forty nine ers are my number eleven team on the
playoff tier.
Speaker 4 (33:27):
They're good.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
They've won two games with Mac Jones shout out Mac
Jones playing with a hobbled knee. Beat the Saints beat
the Cardinals. I don't really know what to make of
those wins. If I'm being honest, I'm not making much
of the Saints win the Cardinals win. They're sitting in
that mediocre territory in the NFL. I don't know how
to feel about that one, but they find a way
to do it. They pull it out. They lose Nick
(33:48):
Bosa in the process, and that is a really, really
tough loss. If you are the San Francisco forty nine ers,
you can't have that. The way their defense has been
playing is the main reason they've been winning these games.
But they get rock Perty back, They'll get kittleback soon.
They're getting healthier at the wide receiver position, so hopefully
the offense can start to show up, getting into the
top ten. How about the Colts Anthony Richardson, excuse me
(34:12):
not Anthony Richardson. Indiana Jones. Indiana Jones. Daniel Jones is
here and he is here to stay. They are three
and zero and they are for real. They get a big,
big test this week against the Los Angeles Rams. The
Colts have just found a way to win games. You
have Jonathan Taylor playing like an offensive player of the
year three touchdowns last week to add to an already
(34:35):
impressive total. He is the front runner over there and
he's having an incredible season. The Colts hit the top ten,
not something I ever thought I was going to say,
I started the Colts in my power rankings at number
thirty on the season, and they've already jumped up to
number ten. Shout out to Daniel Jones. Shout out to
the Colts. They're having an amazing, magical start to the season.
(34:57):
We'll see if they can keep it going. That's right,
may rab Indi Jones right there, the Bucks at number nine.
We previewed this one a little bit. The reason they're
not higher, I've seen people put the Bucks as high
as number four on their power rankings. The main reason
that they're not up there is because they have not
won games convincingly. In three games, They've won three games
by one possession, and that one possession was a last
(35:19):
minute possession led by Baker Mayfield, which is a skill
in and of itself. You want to be able to
run that clock, you want to be able to bring
your team down the field when it matters, but you
also don't want to have to be in that position.
They were in it against the Jets, against the Texans,
against the Falcons.
Speaker 3 (35:37):
Right.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
This is not a good look for a Buccaneers team.
A little concerned about it, but injuries are the main
reason for that. Tristan Wurf's Gadecki, a lot of the
other offensive linemen dealing with injuries. They should be back soon.
Mike Evans goes down, Chris Godwin has been hurt, but
like you brought up, may Rob eg Buka has been
an absolute godsend for that team. That's everything they needed
(36:00):
him to be and more. He is doing amazing stuff
for them as a rookie. The Chargers here could maybe
be a little bit higher, but I still need to
see it against another really proven team. The Chiefs, I
don't know if they're great. The Broncos, I don't know
if they're great. The Raiders, I don't even know if
they're good. Right Like, they've done it justin Herberts looked
(36:22):
amazing and that defense, like I said, has been incredible,
But I need to see them do it against a
true top tier team, and they haven't done it yet.
Speaker 4 (36:32):
I want to believe.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
I want to believe this Chargers team is real, but
I need to see it in action before I move
them up into the super Bowl tier. And we rounded
out at number seven with the Washington Commanders forty one
points with a backup quarterback Nothan dis Goffa. Now, injuries
are starting to affect this team. You have Jaden Daniels
dealing with an injury. I think he'll play this week.
That's gonna be huge for them. They need him, They
(36:53):
need him back soon. They might lose Terry McLaurin for
an extended period of time. He's dealing with what some
might fear is a sport ternio, which is something you
can play through, but it's real, real painful, and you
don't want your star receiver to have to do that.
They're dealing with injuries on the offensive line. Guys are
getting healthy. They're dealing with injuries on the defensive side
(37:13):
of the ball. Jeremy Reeves goes down, Deetrich Wise goes down.
Speaker 4 (37:17):
There is things.
Speaker 2 (37:18):
Trey Amos, who's playing really good as a rookie, is
dealing with an injury. He should be still there to play,
but injury bug is hitting Washington. They're not quite in
the super Bowl tier anymore because of it. I need
to see more out of Jayden Daniels in year two.
He's kind of coached it off of his Rookie of
the Year season so far. I need to see him
play good football when he comes back from that knee injury.
(37:38):
They round out the playoff tier May Roup.
Speaker 5 (37:43):
Honestly, Jeremy, that was a phenomenal tier across the board.
I agree with every single bit. San Francisco forty nine
is first great offense. This is an offense that's led
by Mac Jones right now, that just went into Arizona
and pulled out a really gutsy win in the fourth quarter,
came back to win that game down by eight points,
(38:05):
it was what fifteen to eight? Well, actually, and I
guess it was just a touchdown because it's fifteen to
eight in the last five minutes of the game. But again,
a comeback, game winning drive led by Mac Jones. What
is else? What else is there to say? Especially a
San Francisco forty nine ers team without George Kittle, without
Brock Purty and dealing with a lot of young players
(38:27):
on that defensive side of the ball. There's a lot
to love about this forty nine Ers team, and they've
surprised me a lot. This is a team that I
thought could be sitting here, maybe one and two, maybe
two and one. Yes, I thought they were gonna lose
Week one against my team. But nonetheless, that's what we're
here to talk about the Indianapolis Colts. Daniel Jones, Daniel
(38:48):
Indiana Jones. There, he is there, he is right over there.
This is honestly as much as I want to say
that this is on because of him. Can we talk
about Jonathan Taylor for a second. How good he's looked.
I don't know exactly what his stats are through four
games now or three games I should say, but he
has at least, at the very least right now four
(39:10):
hundred yards, four hundred and fifty yards. Because this is
back to back weeks now that he's gone over one
hundred and sixty yards by himself. I'm not saying the team.
I'm saying Jonathan Taylor by himself rushing over one hundred
and sixty yards. He's an absolute monster on this Colt sideline.
He did it against the Broncos with a good front
and just did it again a decimating the Titans defense.
Speaker 4 (39:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (39:32):
So this is a really good Colts offense that I
think is going to be really good moving forward.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
Three hundred and thirty eight yards, three touchdowns on the ground,
you go through the air, eight receptions ninety three yards added,
another touchdown over there. Four total touchdowns on the season.
The leading rusher right now, Jonathan Taylor, has been everything
the Colts needed.
Speaker 5 (39:50):
More literally, And we didn't even get to the offense
to the weapons that they have with Michael Pittman, Alec Pierce,
Josh Downs. Did I mention Tyler Warren is sitting over
there in the tight end spot, one of the best
tight ends out there in the league, and he's a
rookie when this is a great Colts team. I they're
my pick now to win the AFC South. Either of
(40:12):
them are the Jaguars, but they're the clear cut favorite.
The Jaguars are still sitting I have sitting as a
dark horse right now, but definitely the Colts right now
sitting there as the top of the AFC South. Buccaneers,
they're only here because the NFC South is that bad.
The Falcons. The Panthers could be good, especially how they
looked against the Falcons, but the Falcons haven't looked good offensively.
(40:34):
The Panthers haven't looked good offensively outside of this past week.
It's really the Buccaneers. And like you mentioned, Jeremy three
straight game winning drives led by Baker Mayfield. He's an
absolute stud in crunch time, being able to locate the ball,
being able to push the ball downfield offensively, But that
defense is really really starting to worry me a little bit,
and it could come back to bite them if they're
(40:55):
not careful. I have no problem with shootouts, but I
do have a problem with you guys not being able
to stop a cold and forcing your quarterback to go
in down the stretch to win you games. That last
week was unacceptable, especially against the Jets team without Justin
Fields giving up a twenty seven to six lead in
the last eight minutes. Nonetheless, they're fining playoff team as well.
(41:17):
Chargers great team offensively, defensively. I know they just lost
Khalil Mack, but I still think they have a decent team.
They definitely need to face some better competition before they
can move up, but I think they I don't think
they're in the good tier. I think they're the leaders
of the AFC West right now, one of the wildest divisions,
the wild wild West, if you want to call it.
Both divisions AFC and NFC West are both wild wild
(41:41):
West right now. But the Chargers definitely look really good,
really solid team. Jim Harball looks really comfortable in year two.
And Justin Herbert, I'm sorry, I doubt it you, Jeremy.
Justin Herbert really is a top six quarterback in the NFL,
no doubt about it. The way he's played, no doubt
about it. And Key Nowan looks like he's been with
the Chargers back to his all pro self. And then
(42:03):
finally the Commanders outside. You didn't even mention Austin Austin Eckler, Yeah, yeah,
they he tore his achilles week two. So they have
they have Bill Crosskey Merrit out there as they're running
back one. They still have Macintosh, Chris Rodriguez, but you
have Terry McLaurin. I didn't even realize that he had
a sports her on yet because you hear as a
(42:24):
quad injury, goes to see his core doctor.
Speaker 4 (42:27):
Honestly, speculation, that's that's nothing confirmed.
Speaker 5 (42:32):
That's just the speculation, because I mean I was trying
to think about it. I couldn't figure out what was
going on. But now that you say that, if that's
truly what's being speculated around the internet right now, I mean,
it makes sense. It really could be the possibility, and
that is definitely a really not serious injury but a
really really painful one to play through. If you're Terry McLaurin,
(42:52):
if I'm looking at Jayden Daniels, I'm looking at him
to make continue to make strides forward into year two.
He had a great rookie year, brought the team to
the NFC Champion Game. But what are you gonna do
in year two? Are you gonna slump like a Bonis
has so far through three games, or are you going
to continue to grow as like a Lamar Jackson did,
as a josh Allen Patrick Mahomes did. That's the difference
(43:13):
between the elites of the NFL and the sort of mediocres,
the Trevor Lawrences of the world that I've kind of
either plateaued a little bit or taken a little bit
of a dip down. Kyler Murrays so to speak, as well,
you could throw him in there, but I think this
is a really good playoff team tier list, really really
good solid.
Speaker 4 (43:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
No, I I obviously made a big fan of it.
That's how it goes. But we're going to get into
our super Bowl tier. I should say my super Bowl
tier here. Boys, this is the six teams that if
it ended today and you said I need you to
pick a team. I would spin a wheel out of
these six to win the Super Bowl. That are the teams.
(43:54):
These are the teams that can win the Super Bowl.
After three weeks of NFL football, we'll start off at
number I'm holding out hope for those Baltimore Ravens. Two
bad games are two bad quarters against the Bills and
the Lions. There are oh real concerns with that defense.
You can't have the Lions run over you like that.
(44:16):
They're number six, they are real close to falling out
of this Super Bowl tier. But when you have Lamar Jackson,
you have that upside. I think that was just a
fluke because you didn't have a knotty Matabike down in
the middle. You didn't have Kyle m van Ney. I
don't think they got run over like that in any
other game. I think Derrick Henry, once he solves his
fumble issues, is gonna go back to being the king
(44:37):
of running backs.
Speaker 4 (44:38):
He'll figure it out.
Speaker 2 (44:39):
I have faith in that team, in that offense, and
I have faith in John Harbaugh to get it done
getting into the top five. Here, boys, and I'm gonna
spit it over to you so you can put your
top five. Once I go through mine, I've got the
Detroit Lions. The Detroit Lions at number five. What an
emphatic win for them on Monday Night football. That was
(45:00):
everything they needed to show us that game. I went
into saying the Lions, I don't know if they can
play good teams, and I came out of it saying
the Ravens, I don't know if they can play good teams.
Speaker 4 (45:11):
They flipped the script.
Speaker 2 (45:13):
That is how perfect of a game they played over there.
Shout out to the Lions. Shout out to Monty, Shout
out to Gibbs, Shout out to Sonic and Knuckles. The
best running back duo now in the history of the NFL.
That's just a statistical fact. Now that's fun that we
get to say that. But shout out to the Lions.
They're playing great football again under Dan Campbell. The Rams,
(45:35):
I know they lost a game. They should have won
that game. Two blocked field goals. It's a brutal way
to lose. I'm not gonna penalize them too much for it.
They still are here at number four. Matthew Stafford, Puka
Nokua maybe the best connection in all of the NFL,
right now that defense still playing really good. They shut
down the Eagles run defense, the run offense with Saquon
That is a impressive feat in and of itself. They're
(45:58):
still here at number four, Packers at number three. Maybe
I should punish the Packers a little more. But that's
Jordan Love, right. You take the Jordan Love games with
the good Jordan Love games. Jordan Love is a real
jeckal and Hyde kind of guy. He either turns the
ball over and plays ugly, or he plays like he
did the first two weeks of the season and looks
like the successor to the Farv and Rogers lineage in
(46:22):
Green Bay. It's not perfect, but you get what you
get when you have Micah Parsons. When you have that defense,
you're going to be in every single game. They are
going to be in every single game. They're the third
best team in the NFL. At number two, I've got
the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles get a massive win over
the Rams. This was the first big test for this
(46:42):
Eagles team, and Jalen Hurts came out and shut all
the haters up right. He said, fine, you don't think
I can pass it? I can pass it. They get
it to AJ Brown, they get it to DeVonta Smith.
AJ Brown with a huge, huge couple of plays to
get them to that game winning touchdown to DeVonta Smith.
That was a beautiful drive led by Jalen Hurts. AJ
(47:03):
Brown is just bigger, stronger, and faster than everybody out
there on the field. That's why he is one of
the best receivers in all of the NFL. They just
don't give him the ball enough to let him show it.
And at number one, Josh Allen and the Bills still
reign supreme, the best team in the NFL. They continue
to win football games and it didn't even look like
they were trying too hard. On Thursday Night Football. They said,
(47:24):
Miami pH Nah, easy, We're just gonna go half Zias
on this. We're gonna go easy on them, and they
still win by ten points. Josh Allen, James Cook playing
amazing football right now. You're getting a lot from your
tight end. Dalton Kinkaid, who had a bad second season.
He's back, he's healthy. Keon Coleman stepping up, Khalisha kir
always looks good. Josh Palmer stepping up on the offense,
(47:46):
and that defense still playing very, very good football, A
lot to like out of this team. When you have
Josh Allen, you've got a shot. And right now, I
don't think there's a better team in football than the
Buffalo Bills.
Speaker 4 (47:57):
May Rob.
Speaker 5 (48:03):
Yeah, Jeremy, very very solid list Buffalo, Definitely. It's hard.
It's hard not to argue Buffalo right now. I think
you're gonna be a little bit shocked because this was
a team that I actually also snubbed three week one
that I was a little bit hurt, hating on a
little bit. I'll start at my number five though. Before
we get there. At number five, I have the Baltimore
(48:23):
or actually, no, I can't put the Ravens there right now.
I can't at number five, Jeremy, hold on to your seat.
I'm putting the Indianapolis Colts at number four. The undefeated
Daniel Indiana Jones Colts are going at my number five spot.
They have looked so good. Their offense looks good, their
defense looks good. DeForest Buckner still looks really good. That
(48:46):
secondary looks good. Across the board. They look like the
sleeper team that's just came out of nowhere this NFL
season and taken the bull by the Horns at number four,
and I'm gonna punish them a little bit more harder
than Harsher than you did. I'm putting the Packers a
number four, and you mentioned it. You gotta take the
good in the bad. With Jordan Love, the reason I
(49:07):
also put him at number four is Josh Jacobs just
hopped on the injury report earlier today with an ankle injury.
He was just seen getting limited in practice, YadA, YadA, YadA,
all the usual stuff with a little ankle injury. Do
I think it's serious? No, But is this a guy
in Josh Jacobs that kind of maneuvers the offense and
kind of the offense runs through his ability to run
(49:30):
the ball. Absolutely, and especially losing Jayden Reid last week
was a big time hit. We saw it with their
ability to move the ball down field this past week.
I don't think that this is gonna this is a
repeat situation with their game against the Browns. I just
think the Browns defense is that good, but definitely something
to keep our eye on as we move into this week.
(49:50):
At number three, I have the La Rams you mentioned it.
Jeremy Kukuanakua and Matt Stafford have the best connection in
football Kien and Williams is still there, and they just
have a guy and by the name of Devonte Adams,
one of the best receivers in the league right now
as well. Opposite side of Puka. This is a really
good Rams team. I have them sitting at number three
(50:11):
right now. Number two, I actually have the Buffalo Bills
at two. The Bills are still really good. But that
game against the Dolphins, I know it was a divisional game,
but it definitely gave me some cost to pause. I
really like James Cook, but that defense didn't look too
good against yet a desperate Dolphins team. But definitely don't
like to see that when a Dolphins team like that,
(50:32):
the way that they performed through two weeks, shows up
in Buffalo and drops twenty one points on you and
makes it almost makes it a little bit of a
dogfight going into the fourth quarter. So I have them
sitting at number two. Not a punishment, just the number
one team in the NFL is hard hard to argue
against the Philadelphia Eagles, the team that I had at
number five going into the year, a team that I
(50:54):
also slept on a lot because their defense lost a lot.
I'm so sorry I slept on aj Brown. I'm really
sorry about that one, because they looked really good last
this past week. And yes, I'm giving them a lot
of props on their special teams play. We mentioned it yesterday, Jeremy.
Special teams won the week, and special teams is winning
(51:16):
the Power rankings. I have the Eagles sitting at number
one for me this week.
Speaker 4 (51:20):
I love it. I love it.
Speaker 2 (51:21):
That's a good top five, the Colts. The Colts snubbing
the Lions out there. How do you feel about that one, Nolan?
Speaker 3 (51:29):
Respected That's how I feel. I think I want to
spit on you right now. I'm just spit on you.
It's okay, though, I can see why I'm putting there.
Speaker 4 (51:40):
Give our top five here, Nolan.
Speaker 3 (51:43):
Anybody bought the Seahawks? Oh, okay, five, We're gonna go, yeah,
five to one. I think best team in the NFL
right now, I think is the Los Angeles Chargers. I
think they have just been playing phenomenal football. They've been
playing against some the best defenses in the NFL, that
Chiefs the Broncos, and they've won each game they granted,
you know, the Broncos, the nail wind, you know, twenty
(52:05):
three to twenty wint down to the wire. Last thing,
I felgal Cam Dicker just he's a great kicker either.
He's been playing great for in the past two seasons
that I believe three seasons. I mean he's just now,
he's accurate, he's got a strong leg. He can do
it all. I think have the Chargers my five spot,
number three. I had a number four. Sorry, I have
the team that Sharra Stadium with the Rams. I think that. No.
(52:28):
Matthew Stafford, even in his age, he's still reading defenses perfectly,
dropping absolute dimes. He's even in his age, he's still
moving better than younger quarterbacks. I think he's just says such.
He has such an he's just been around the league
so long that he just knows how it works, you know,
reads any defense, how to escape every pocket. And he
obviously has he has the Bondams, he has Tyler Higbee.
(52:51):
I believe he's still there. I'm not sure. I forgot
how the turn ed. But also Kyrie Williams, I mean,
one of the best running backs in the NFL right now.
Same their offense is I mean even their defense too,
even without Aaron Donald. You know you're retired I believe
two seasons ago. But still there's defense in LA and
both las just same. Sadi. I have the rams of
(53:12):
five or sorry, rams of four number three. I have
the Lions. I I guess have the bias. But we
saw this week they stopped one of the best offenses,
maybe one of the maybe the best offense in the
NFL in Hunderson making a huge stop against Derekkennedy, that
huge trouble. I mean, the lines looked amazing, Sonic and Knuckles,
Monty and Demir, I mean literally, yeah, statistically the best
(53:34):
running back due of all time as of right now.
The steel likes a Jared Dolphin phenomenal. Saint Brown looked good.
The offense looked amazing. This defense terryon aryon Arnold is
my only scare right now. He's just constantly holding. He
just really can't seem to keep his hands to himself.
But other than that, I mean, I think our linebacker room,
I think our front four. I think our front guys,
you know, Derek Barnes and Huncherson. We have a lot
(53:55):
of talent. And I think this Lions team, even with
that loss against Green Bay, I think that might have
been a Flute game, because this team looks legit. I
think they are looking really good even without Ben Johnson.
I think we lived just as fine, maybe even better.
Number two, I am taking the Eagles, obviously. I was
just gonna say right now. One and two are just
Eagles and Bills, the two best teams. Actually, yeah, the
(54:17):
Eagles and Bills two best teams in the NFL in
my opinion, both just bull same thing, Both amazing defense offenses,
both amazing defenses, both so well rounded. You have obviously
one of the strongest, you know, quarterbacks with Jalen hurts
Kamp had one of the most versustile quarterbacks with Josh Allen.
Just so versatile, so good. I just I just they're
just so good. I don't even want to get too
(54:37):
deep into They're just both so good on both sides
of the ball. They are the two best teams. And
I don't have the Packers there because the loss of
the Browns. Granted, the Browns have the best defense in
the NFL. Shout out the Browns. Yeah, I mean my
top five argers, Rams, Lions, Eagles, Bills.
Speaker 2 (54:53):
Love it, love it, love those top five lists. I
do like the Lions getting a little more represent tation
out here. Shout out the Chargers. They're a team I
really did consider putting in my top five. Nolan, I
do like that. Shout over there. You think you get
a possible l Avery v l a super Bowl right now,
that'd be That'd be kind of crazy, awest, I.
Speaker 3 (55:12):
Would love that. Imagine like, who would it be a
home game for the Probably the Rams. Charge don't have
any fans don't want to Like this week, I was
walking the ramp Chargers Broncos game. Every time like the
Broncos scored or made a good play, it sounded louder
it was in so far it just sounded so maybe
because I mean, I don't know, it's.
Speaker 5 (55:34):
The same issue with the Niners. In the Rams, the
Niners fans always flood those games.
Speaker 3 (55:38):
It's notorious fans travel well though that is specifically not
they're They're a good traveling team. I feel like they
have a big fan base do but very true.
Speaker 2 (55:46):
It's a big rivalry game. I'll run through my top
ten and we're going to take a pause gate to
our Thursday night football preview. Next Colts at number ten
for me, Chargers, excuse me, Buccaneers and nine Chargers at eight,
Commanders at Evan Ravens six, Lions number five, Rams at
number four, Packers three to the Philadelphia Eagles, and for
(56:07):
the third straight week, the Buffalo Bills retain that number
one spot. Anybody that's gonna knock them down better come quick,
because this is a really good Bills team. But we're
gonna take a break when we return Thursday night football
Seahawks versus Cardinals, a divisional battle that could decide potentially
the entire division. That's how important this game is early season.
(56:31):
We'll be right back here on the Triple Threat Shows.

Speaker 4 (01:00:21):
But I digress. We have to get into.
Speaker 2 (01:00:23):
A huge, huge Thursday night football matchup, may Rob one
with your Seattle Seahawks taking on a Cardinals team that
just lost in heartbreaking fashion to another division opponent. Is
this the Cardinals team that's going to be able to
get over the hump? Is Kyler Murray done after this year?
If he can't get it done. This is a game
(01:00:45):
that's gonna show us a lot. This is a vaunted
Seattle Seahawks defense. How are the Cardinals gonna handle it?
And who is going to step up big for each
of these teams? Break it down a little bit for us,
May Rob here kick us off.
Speaker 5 (01:00:59):
All right, Thank forgiving me the floor, Jeremy, because I've
been excited for this matchup, all these last two days
since Week three ended. When we're looking at this matchup,
I want to start on the Arizona side of things
because I want to save Seattle for the end. We
gotta save we gotta save the dessert for the end,
the good stuff, the good stuff that has to wait.
(01:01:19):
And we're talking about this Arizona offense. Kyler Murray needs
to be able to figure it out early. You don't
have James Connor to get the run game early. I'm
looking at Trey Benson. What is his effect going to be?
I know he's a little bit of an elusive back
a little bit smaller, kind of like a Kenneth Walker,
similar to a maybe a Chase Brown, a skinnier guy,
but elusive, speedy, can fly down the field in open space.
(01:01:43):
That's the type of guy Trey Benson is. The thing
is the Seahawks defense is not gonna give you an
inch in the defensive in that defensive front, not only that,
their backline, their secondary is all gonna be locked down.
There is no way nowhere to move if you're Trey Benson.
In my opinion, with Nuos who running after you, Dexter
Lawrence is going to be there. Uh, We're not Dexter Lawrence,
(01:02:07):
DeMarcus Lawrence, excuse me. Across the board, there's a lot
of good defensive The Seattle defensive front is really good,
and Seattle defense is really good in general, and they're
gonna be spying Kyler Murray all game long. I'm looking
at Marvin Harrison Junior. How is he going to be performing?
How is he going to be playing against the Devin
weatherspoon against Arek wooll woollan on either side of the field.
(01:02:28):
Wherever he lines up outside of him, is somebody else
gonna step out in that wide receiver room. This is
a really young Cardinals offense in general. They don't have
a whole lot of standout guys. Marvis and doing very well.
Like I said, you lose James Connor. Kyler is kind
of be kind of out there by himself in terms
of guys that are known, in terms of guys that
he can rot. He doesn't have a whole lot to
(01:02:48):
rely upon. Who's going to be able to make that
step forward? That's what I'm looking at from this Cardinals offense.
On their defense, it's hard not to say I'm looking
at Buddha Baker. How is he going to be able
to shut down Jackson Smith and Jigbu. That is the
matchup we are all gonna be watching because it is
going to be such a good matchup. These are two
guys pretty much the same in terms of They're built
(01:03:10):
pretty much the same size, same skill set, very quick, elusive,
can jump pretty have really good verticals, can jump really high,
can catch across the board. This is gonna be a
really fun matchup to watch and I can't wait to
see it. But and but this is gonna be the
key to the game in this one. Kenneth Walker and
Zach charbonad the run game. And my guy, I've been
(01:03:32):
saying it for the last two days now since he
showed up against the Saints in a big way. Tory
Horton is getting in the end zone. This is a
guy that's gonna take in my opinion, He's going to
find a way into Cooper Cup's role. Cooper Cup is
still Cooper Cup. He is and there's no doubt about it.
But this is a guy in Tory Horton. I saw
a stat. While I pull it up, I'll continue talking.
(01:03:53):
This is a guy in Tory Horton who's matched up
with Amikabuka for and tied and touchdown for rookies. This season,
he is tied in touchdowns with three in two games.
He's played one less game than Buca has. In terms
of his route shares, week one he had sixty five percent,
didn't get a single touch Week two fifty one percent,
(01:04:14):
where he had a touchdown and showed up against the
Steelers in a big way. And then Week three with
up to seventy six percent he ran as many routes
as Cooper Cup and JSN did. That's all you need
to know. This is a guy in this offense that
Clint Kubiak is trusting, a stud out of Colorado State
(01:04:35):
that went late in the fifth round that a lot
of people passed on, that is showing up in a
big way, from kick returns on special teams to just
being like a Tyler Lockett esque safety guy, just being
a guy out there that they could throw it to
the in the flats, throw it on a medium route,
medium sized route for a first round for a first
down on second in medium on like a second and
(01:04:56):
eight or something to make it a third and short
or get that first down. Like I said, said this
is a really fun Seahawks team to watch. I think
they're continuing to get better week by week week from
week one to week three. Granted, they played the Steelers
in the Saints, so this is gonna be a fun
test to see how much they've truly gotten better because
it's a divisional game. But I'm really interested to see
(01:05:19):
how they're gonna grow. And this one could go in
a blowout fashion quick fasten in a hurry, honestly, if
the Cardinals aren't careful.
Speaker 2 (01:05:27):
Yeah, the one thing I want to focus on on
this game. I know we like to focus on offense,
but I think the real story Nolan in this game
is these two defenses. That Seahawks defense is elite. I
really do believe that this is a top five unit
in the NFL. That's how good they're playing. Then this
Cardinals defense, don't sleep on them. Will you have Kalaiis
Campbell playing? How good he is at age thirty nine,
(01:05:50):
He's been a game wrecker for the last couple of
games for the Arizona Cardinals. He is going to be
in that backfield causing problems for Sam Darnold, causing problems
for the run game, and they shut down Christian McCaffrey
last week. That's really impressive. If they can do that,
they have a real shot to shut down that Seahawks
running game. They become one dimensional. You can run, pin
(01:06:11):
your head back and run at Sam Darnold. That's going
to make it very intriguing. How do you see these
two defenses playing and which one do you think is
going to have the edge come Thursday night?
Speaker 3 (01:06:22):
I don't know because I'm looking. Okay, start the Cardinals.
The Cardinals honestly have one of them. I think that
the Cardinals honestly win this game if and only if
it's a big if and kind of a big stretch.
I think that if Will Johnson plays, they win this game.
He has listened as doubtful, and I think that he
is honestly proven to be one of the best corners
in the as a rookie right in the NFL. He
(01:06:44):
had a hard hitter, he read balls well, he was
he was phenomenal in college and that you know, you
don't really see a lot of guys coming to the
NFL and you know kind of just are alrighty the
red of to play. They you know, at the level,
at the level they were in college, and I feel
like Bill Johnson is kind of one of those who
is ready to play. He's been ready make I said, great, right,
great reader can hit hard. I mean, he can do it.
(01:07:06):
He's a great player. And he got Buddha Baker, one
of the best free safeties or safety's just in the
NFL in general. He's been there his entire career, and
he's been there dominating each year. He's an All Pro player,
a Pro Bowl player each year. Reliable. They then get,
you know, kind of towards the more front seven linebackers,
d Lineman, you have Debt, David Yeah, Dalvin Thompson. Sorry, Tomlson, Sorry,
(01:07:28):
I couldn't say it, Uh, Calvis Capbell, Josh Stewart. I
mean these are all good their front. You know, it's
not like an elite front four front three attack whenever
they're running four three tech. But it's good enough, you know,
because like you know, the Seahawks, no offense there O
line isn't good straight We've been out of this for
it isn't that good. I know you're gonna get mad
at me last time, Jason that you've been on a tangent.
(01:07:49):
I'm not gonna I'm not gonna be here for that.
I'm just saying, it's just it's their weaker spot on
their offense is their O line. You know, I think
that the Cardinals O line or D line and their
you know, their secondary is good enough to kind of
disrupt maybe you know Charbonney, Kenneth Walker, their dbs, Budda
Baker and Will Johnson. That is gonna be a huge player.
(01:08:09):
However well they play will be the biggest signing factor.
But then to go to the Seahawks, their defense is,
like Jerry said, possibly one of the best in the NFL.
You have Devon Devin Withersburg, Devon I can never say
his name with wis. Then you have obviously Treik Woland,
one of the best backers in the NFL, as well,
DeMarcus Lawrence, Byron Murphy. I mean, you have this defense
(01:08:32):
is just so good from each from any level, from
deep you know my backer line men, there's just so
well round Kobe Bryant as well. I mean, this team,
this defense is just stacked and loaded with all pro
UH Pro Bowl talent that honestly, I just can't see
the Cardinals defense really making any big plays out of it,
especially without James Conner anymore. I mean Kyler Murray te
(01:08:56):
Marvin Harrison hasn't been an elite connection as people have
been hoped for the past season now, and I mean
especially you know, just their receiving room isn't that strong.
So you have Tay McBride at tight end, but I
mean that's just not gonna cut it. I think that
the Seahawks will win this game, but if the Seahawks
defense plays balls and off, it'll be a close game.
(01:09:17):
But I think Seahawks take this first base of how
good their defense matches up against the Cardinals offense.
Speaker 2 (01:09:22):
Yeah, I'm given one tick to the Seattle defense here.
I think they're a better defense, and I think they'll
be able to take care or at least control Kyler Murray,
keep him in the pocket as much as you possibly can.
That's gonna be the big key for them. For the Cardinals, again,
you just have to get pressure on Sam Darnold. They
have the guys that can do it. They just need
to get through that Seahawks offensive line. I'm given one
(01:09:43):
tick out of three because it is a three sided
game in the NFL nowadays, to the Seattle Seahawks. Let's
go to the offensive side of the ball here. That
is gonna be really interesting.
Speaker 4 (01:09:53):
Again.
Speaker 2 (01:09:54):
I think the Cardinals have a little bit of an
advantage here. I know may Rob you talked about the
wide receivers. You talked about Tory Horton, who is electric.
We love Tory Horton. Zach Sharboney looks like he's gonna play.
He logged a full practice on Monday, did all the walkthroughs.
But we saw that Cardinals defense shut down an offense
that I think is a little bit better in the
(01:10:14):
forty nine ers last week. They shut down Christian McCaffrey.
If the Seahawks can't get the run game going, that
leaves the play action threat not really there, which is
what the Seahawks like to run. That's where they hit
their big plays. You talked about will Johnson Nolan. That
is going to be a big loss for them if
he's doubtful. I also doubt he's gonna play at this
point with one day to go in the game. But
(01:10:35):
you still have some pretty solid corners over there. Max
Melton's really good. But the offense for the Seahawks I'm
a little concerned about. I think the Cardinals figure it out.
I think Trey Benson is a good enough replacement, and
I think I give one tick to the Cardinals on
the offensive side of the ball.
Speaker 5 (01:10:49):
Mayrop, I mean, I can see it, but one point,
I want to go back to Nolan. I promise I
won't go on a tangent. This offensive line is just
better than it used to be. This is a better
offensive line than we know of, and I just want
to give them credit because I think this is a
week by week process. Yes, week one, did they look bad, Yes,
(01:11:10):
But were they going up against Nick Bosa. Yes. Since then,
they've looked really good. And Kenneth Walker could just go
look at that Steelers game. This is a team in
the Seahawks that had almost one hundred and fifty rushing
yards between Kenneth Walker and Zach Sharbennett. That is not
something to sneeze at, especially against a Mike Tomlin led defense. So, yes,
(01:11:33):
is their offensive line a little bit? It's still not good.
Is a mediocre yes? Could it be above average yes?
Could it be even good by the end of the season, Yes,
but I'm not saying it's anything out there. As for
the offense Jeremy for the Cardinals, Yeah, the connection to
Marv has been really lackluster. I just don't know how
(01:11:57):
else they can who else. I literally don't know a
single receiver on this Cardinals squad. Of course, you still
have Trey McBride. I don't know how I've forgott him
a top two tight end in the league. He's one
of the better ones, especially too. But it's gonna be
on Trey Benson to see if they can get that
running game going. If Kyler Murray sits in the back,
(01:12:18):
sits in that pocket, and has to throw the ball
thirty forty times, he's gonna get picked apart by that
Mike McDaniel's defense. It's just gonna happen. If say, he
only has to throw twenty to twenty five times, the
Cardinals have a chance, and especially if they can keep
it close, if they can manage the clock, if they
can control the game on the offensive side of the ball.
(01:12:40):
But that's a big if, and it's gonna be on
the shoulders of Trey Benson and Kyler Murray's likes to
get it done.
Speaker 2 (01:12:46):
Yeah, no, I tend to agree with you there, But
there is one more phase, one more phase to go here.
Special teams, and we've seen how big special teams can
be Both of these teams have looked really good. Tory
Horton turn touchdown last week ninety five yards to the house,
and I think, really that's the difference. The Cardinals haven't
made some special special teams plays yet, and that's not
(01:13:08):
to say that they can't. But I think when it
comes down to a game that's as close as this,
with two teams in a division A divisional matchup on
prime time, two teams that really need this win, both
coming in at two to one, I think special teams
is gonna be that big difference maker. And with Tory
Horton making those big plays for the Seattle Seahawks, I
think that's that last tick the Seahawks need and I'm
(01:13:31):
taking the Seahawks to win a close one in Arizona
on Thursday Night football.
Speaker 3 (01:13:36):
Nol In, I mean, I agree with you, Like I said,
I think that Car, I think of the you know,
the Seahawks defense is possibly it depends on what they play.
I think their offense is good. I think their offense
matches well against the Cardinals defense. I think their defense
matches well against the Cardinals offense. Their defense it is
really good. Like I said, in all three levels, have
elite lineman, a good linebacker corps, and a really good
(01:13:59):
secondary corps. Offense, you have two elite running are very
good one and two running back combo. Sam Darnold's been
playing really good for them. Then you have obviously JSN
Cooper CPP, and now Tory Holt. I mean he's came
out and that really came out of nowhere, but he's
really been one of the best players for the Seahawks,
you know, receiving wise and for kick returning. But yeah,
(01:14:19):
I think that this is like I've been saying, Like
I said, I think it's a Seahawks I think this
is a Seahawks game, not really to lose. I think
it'll be a good game regardless, But I do think
Seahawks take this. I think there's a more world level team,
and I think that they're a healthier team as well.
So I think that with all other players kind of
being there being healthy, compared to the Cardinals losing their
starting possibly they're starting corner and they'll start obviously they're
(01:14:42):
starting running back star James Conner. I mean, I think
there's gonna be a healthier team and they're a team
that's gonna win. This game is based off just their
better team in my opinion overall, and they're healthier, are right, Yeah, I.
Speaker 5 (01:14:55):
Can see it. I mean on special team side of
the ball, You're looking at Jason Myers, and he's a guy.
I think he only missed I think he missed one
field goal this past weekend. I'm not one hundred percent sure,
but I mean the Cardinals, it's always up to the kickers.
Kickers are really hard to predict how they can play.
But I know that the Cardinals do have Greg Dortch
back there on kick returns. They love to use him.
(01:15:17):
The speedzer that Greg Dortsch is, So I mean it's
kind of even on the special team side of things.
I think it's just gonna be up to the kickers
and how they play. If I had to choose who
I trust more, do I trust Chad Ryland, who was
also two for three last week, or do I trust
a Jason Myers, Jason Myers, who is one of the
(01:15:41):
better long distance kickers in the league. I'd probably pick Myers,
and I'd probably give the edge of the Seahawks frame.
In terms of prediction, I would say this game is
probably gonna finish a yeah, twenty eight to fourteen game. Yeah,
it's a little bit crazy. Twenty eight to fourteen, twenty eight,
twenty eight, seventeen, something like that. It's probably gonna be
(01:16:02):
between nine to fourteen points, in my opinion, in the
favor of the Seahawks. And I think, yeah, Nolan, you
didn't say it, I'm gonna say it. I think this
is the game. This is a game for the Seahawks
to lose. Yes, it's a divisional game, but without James Connor,
this is gonna be a weekend weekend Cardinals.
Speaker 4 (01:16:18):
Team should be good.
Speaker 2 (01:16:20):
It sounds like we're full sweep on the Seahawks over here,
but we're gonna take a quick break when we come back.
It is time for our boys to shine. We have
the return of the may Rob Minute and the premiere
of No Joe Knows. The two boys here will get
their own segment to shine. That's coming up next here
(01:16:41):
on the Triple Threat Shows.
Speaker 1 (01:17:02):
Speak as does speak, speaking speaking as the speak does
(01:17:36):
not speak as does speak speak, Speak does not as
(01:18:16):
does speak as does speak as does speak speaking speaking
(01:18:42):
as dole as the speak as does not.
Speaker 2 (01:19:22):
Welcome back to the Triple Red Show. I am your host,
Jeremy Lapidis. Today is September twenty fourth, a beautiful Wednesday.
Speaker 4 (01:19:33):
Here.
Speaker 2 (01:19:34):
We have, of course talked about a lot of things
so far on today's show, but I am so so
excited for this next segment. I'm of course joined by
my two friends and co hosts, may Rob Fatemi and
Nolan Jamber.
Speaker 4 (01:19:48):
We are here at the.
Speaker 2 (01:19:50):
Final segment of the show, but the return of the
may Rob Minute is here. The clock is ticking, may Rob,
you are up.
Speaker 5 (01:20:06):
Going off in two weeks, less than two weeks time.
October second is when the NBC NBA preseason begins. I
just want to talk about some Boston Celtics because I
am the native Bostonian, as you can tell with the hat.
But we got to talk about some Boston Celtics. Gotta
talk about some Jason Tam, talk about what's going on
in the world of up Boston Celtics Land and in
(01:20:26):
the world of the Green Irish when you're looking at
the Celtics team right now. Actually let's we'll get there
actually later, but I want to talk a little bit
about Jason Tams specifically, he came out he went on
First Take earlier this week, a couple of days ago
full interview with Steven A and the crew and pretty
much said I never said I was done. I never
(01:20:48):
said I wasn't going to play this year. I know
I suffered an achilles injury, but there is no way
I rehab six days a week. He's playing, he's practicing.
He's trying to rehab his body as quickly, not as quickly,
not trying to rush himself, but not only to come back,
to come back stronger. And this is a similar mentality
to what we saw to a Kobe Bryant as guy
(01:21:10):
who he also kind of embodies, envisions himself, or idolizes
in a way Kobe Bryant Jason Tatum does. Kobe Bryant
went through the same injury, came back in nine months. Yes,
rushed it, but came back a much better player, won
a couple of chips after and went to a couple
NBA finals. I'm not saying that this is what Jason
(01:21:31):
Tatum is, but this is a guy in Jason Tatum
that's taking this really seriously. And the Celtics might not
be done. All they need to do is stay consistent.
If they can stay if they can hover around the
five hundred mark going into maybe February March, and get
Jason Tatum back, give him two months to get ready,
(01:21:52):
get ready for the playoffs. Just place maybe on a
minute's restriction for the first month and then give him
May to just play the second late May June hits.
I promise you you're gonna see maybe not the same,
but a similar Jason Tatum esque guy that can make
that can give the Knicks a run for their money.
The Cavs all run for their money, and yes, Nolan,
(01:22:14):
the Detroit Pistons are run for their money too.
Speaker 3 (01:22:17):
This is a really, really.
Speaker 5 (01:22:18):
Fun Boston Celtics team. It's we're gonna learn a lot
about Jalen Brown, but do not sleep on Jason Tatum.
This is a guy that is going is fighting to
come back on the court as quickly as possible for
the Boston Celtics. And with that one, we close another
weekly Mayor of Minute. But that's not the only U
(01:22:38):
segment feature segment we have for the Triple Threat Show today.
Making his debut today for the first time on The
Triple Threat Show, we have no Joe Knows take it away, Nolan.
Speaker 3 (01:22:48):
I'm looking at my chaps right here, but Hey, welcome
to Know Joe Knows Today segment. We're gonna talk about
something that means deer to me. That's killing me. The
Detroit Tigers. The Detroit Tigers have had possibly one of
the worst collapses, what the worst downfalls and posts and
end of you know, end of the season MLB history.
It's disgraceful, downestly disgraceful. But the best teams post pre
(01:23:10):
All Star Break having you know, about a fifteen to
twenty game above five hundred. No, we're looking great, looking, phenomenal, pitching,
Terry's cooobl look phenomenal, We're hitting, look good, We're doing
it all post All Star Break. Just the biggest collapse.
We start two and twenty posts or two and fifteen
posts all Star Break, and over the past twelve games
they'd gone one in twelve or one in eleven through
(01:23:32):
our through our most recent twelve games, and it's actually horrible.
We're losing to the Marlins. We just got swept by
the Guardians. We're gonna we just lost to them again.
The night We're gonna lose to the Red Sox most
likely next series. I mean, it's just actually just insane.
Trek Scoogle last night. One of the best pitchers in
the MLB. We all know this, but he just decides
last night, he gets a dribbler pitched, he had a
(01:23:54):
great pitch dribble right back to him. Instead of turning
around and making the throw like a normal pitcher would do,
you know, I'm gonna snap it between my legs that
us playing football as a center, and it goes over
Spenctle Torcosin's face at first phase, scores two runs, gives
the Guardians momentum, and now we lost seven to two
last night, just lost five to one, and with the
loss today, after having a fifteen and a half game
(01:24:17):
lead a month and a half ago, have now lost
our first place spot in the AL Central, which is
actually just straight up despicable. We had a fifteen and
a half game lead a month and a half ago.
All we had to do is just not go on
any big losing streaks, any you know, sort of reason
(01:24:37):
to just just don't play bad baseball, just play basic,
simple baseball. And all we had to do was do that,
and the Detroit Tigers, in classic fashion, throw it all away.
This is the exact opposite of what happened last year,
we started poor and we had a great end of
the season. This year, we started great, had a horrible
end of the season, and now we're facing the consequences.
(01:24:57):
We were probably going to get swept by the Guard
in the six in this series. This year, we're probably
going to get swept by the Red Sox at this rate.
Not have about that, Brabbas want to let you know,
but I mean, it's just honestly bad. We're going to
most likely miss the playoffs at this point. If we
make it, we will be the third wild card seed,
(01:25:18):
and at this rate, we won't make it past the
first round. It's honestly just disrespectful. It's just it's suspicable.
Chris Illwich has done nothing for this team. I mean,
it's just bad. The ownership. It needs to take accountability.
Are players go to take accountability for having an absolute
terrible second half of the season. But at the end
of the day, baseball's baseball, And at least we're not
(01:25:38):
the Mets spending it over quarter billion dollars or no, sorry, yeah,
a quarter billion dollars on a roster and may not
even make the playoffs. We're spending a lot less than that,
So at least we're not the Mets. But that's my
first take. I know Joe Minnet and you know what, Jeremy,
I'm gonna try to send it off. I'mna try my best,
but yeah, thank you for tuning in today for today's
(01:26:00):
a lovely Wednesday, September twenty fourth. Thank you for tuning in.
I'm Nolan Chamber. I'm here with my host Jammuy Lapidis
and my good friend and co host Rotha Temi. Thank
you for tuning in to the Triple That show. We
will see you all on Friday with another great episode.
We're mostly talking baseball, so we'll see you guys. Then,
have a good one.
