Speaker 1 (00:23):
Thinking, Thinking, Thinking, Thinking.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Welcome into the Triple Threat Show. We are your hosts,
Jeremy Lapidis and Nolan jamber Welcome back. We have a
lot to talk about. Of course, Every single Wednesday we
go over the only certified, correct, one hundred percent accurate
list of the NFL tiers, the NFL Power Rankings thirty
(02:12):
two to one. We'll get into that in a second.
We also have a big Thursday night football game to
break down between the Bills and the Dolphins, two teams
that are pretty far apart of my power rankings here.
Just to sprinkle a little bit of spoilers in there
for all of you guys, the Dolphins not very good.
The Bill's pretty good. But we'll break down that game
(02:34):
in a minute. Nolan, We're gonna start off, though, with
our power rankings here. Of course, we do our tier list.
It's not just a boring one to thirty two list.
We've broken it up into now seven different tiers. We
have our Awful Tier, we have our Bad tier. We
have of course our ET tier. New distinction in the
(02:56):
AT tier in AT tier, leaning towards bad and leaning
towards good that leads you up to the Good tier.
The playoff tier and the super Bowl contenders, of which
there are five that I currently have as teams that
I think could win a super Bowl after this week,
but a lot to get into. Let's start off with
(03:18):
that first tier. We're gonna talk all about the bad tier,
the awful tier. There are three teams I have down
there in this tier, the Cleveland Browns at number thirty.
Here I have the Dolphins actually as the worst team
in the NFL. Let's start over there instead of going
out of order. The Dolphins number thirty two in the NFL.
(03:39):
The way they've played football is just atrocious. I know
they were playing close against the Patriots, but still, this
is a team that should be better. Their defense is
really really bad, and that's an understatement. Honestly, this is
a defense that just has no business being in a
game at all. They can't make those big stops and
(04:00):
to while he played a little bit better, still isn't
enough for this Dolphins team to get a lot of wins.
They have to go up against the Bills this week
and that's not gonna be very fun. I've got the
Saints at thirty one. They stay put as well from
last week. This is a Saints team that is playing
teams close. They've lost by one possession in each of
(04:21):
the first two games. It was against the Cardinals and
it was against Mac Jones and the forty nine ers.
But there's reason to not be super doomer on the
Saints right now. They still have a young team. They've
got a lot of pieces, but they need to find
a better quarterback than Spencer Ratler. He's not gonna cut
it over there. And the Browns, they are the final
(04:41):
team in that awful tier. Joe Flacco is doing enough.
I guess they've had a tough little start. Two division games,
two division losses. The Ravens just take their anger out
for Week one on the Browns. Lamar Jackson goes for
five more touchdowns in that one. Joe Flacco sits in
that fourth quarter. We saw a little to Dylan Gabriel.
How about that. Dylan Gabriel did not look too bad.
(05:04):
He threw a touchdown to fellow rookie Dylan Samson. That's
a connection that could be interesting as we watch the
season go on. There have been some talks about potentially
the Browns switching quarterbacks. I think it's too early, especially
going up against the Packers this week. You don't want
to throw Dylan Gabriel into a situation where he's gonna
immediately get sacked ten times by Micah Parsons. You've got
(05:25):
to wait a little bit. But I think there is
some real thought behind switching quarterbacks a lot sooner than
we thought, and to Dylan Gabriel no less, instead of
shitter Sanders.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
They have a very good defense. Obviously, you're still a
Miles Garrett. You have a good second Derek cam Ward
Saldrick Tillman. I mean, they have a good defensive squad.
It's just they're happy to be playing against two of
honestly the best offensive teams in the NFL with the
Ravens and then obviously he had the Bengals League one,
and then it's been a lucky Now they're playing probably
the third. Jordan Love looks great right now, and they're
(06:14):
going against another Super Bowl contending team in the Packers.
I mean, this is just a brutal three start stretch
to their season. It really is. They're playing three, honestly,
two of the best teams plus the Bengals, So I mean, yeah,
the Browns, they are gonna be most likely zero and
three after this week, but I don't think the record
shows that. I think they're gonna be a better team.
And Dyan Gabriel, yeah, I would not throw him in
(06:34):
the starting role, not yet. Joe Flacco. I think they
should start Joe Flacco this week just because obviously he's
the VET. They brought him in for a reason. But
he's an experienced with great teams. Obviously, he played it
in the twenty tens or some of the best defenses
of all time were there. He played some of the
best defenses of all time, and he won a Super
Bowl with the Ravens. Then I think he can make
do with the Packers and do the best he can there.
I think he still got it. He's still playing good.
(06:57):
But Gabriel did show signs of being a good quarterback
that touchdown the fourth quarter Gret Granted it was kind
of the garbage time touchdown, but still, I mean, he
still got touched under his name, so he was promising.
He promising the preseason two. I still want to see
Shu Sanders get some actual minutes, so I think she
is just getting thrown under the rug. I think he
needs to get some actual minutes and see get him
in the game and see, Okay, it's he legit or not,
because right now I was getting him no chance and
(07:18):
I want to see him, you know, get some minutes.
They we'll go to the Saints. Saints, like you said,
this is kind of like how they started last year.
They were two when they started two and oh last
year and then it went on an absolute Scooter just
got the Milish game after the game. Now they're oh
and two. But they're playing better than I thought they
were gonna be playing. I thought that the Saints would
honestly go win no games this year. I was throwing
(07:40):
too so as possible. But yeah, like you said, Spencer Rattler,
he's just not that best quarterback. They drafted a quarterback
in the second round, Tyler Shock, and they haven't played
him once. I'm not sure how well he did in
training camp. But if he's playing bad enough or maybe
not good enough to where they're starting Spencer Ratler, who
still is now zer win ten as a Saints quarterback.
This in every quarterback, just in any uh at NFL level,
(08:01):
it's pretty bad. So, I mean, the Saints just don't
they have some good weapons. It's not you, it's Alvin Kamara,
who's still doing great work. But they still have an
elite running back, had a good receiver in Chris Alvey
when he's healthy. But I went to in the best
start and they're it's not gonna get easier. And the Dolphins,
the Dolphins just shut up sick. Their offense is good.
You have Jaileen Watnell able to change all right, Kill.
(08:24):
I mean, if Tula could somehow manage to just kind
of figure it out, it'd be better. But he just
can't seem to hint open passes. He can't seem to
hit Tyry Kellen stride anymore. He's lost. I think tyryk
Kill has lost. I think it's the crazy to say
that Tula should call it quits after the season. Maybe,
but I think he definitely has kind of lost his
(08:44):
ability to play football at the to the elite level
that he once had. And I think that the Dolphins
are only gonna get worse until they make a decision
at quarterback to change him up.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Yeah, I think the Dolphins have to move on. If
Tua continues to play like this the rest of the year,
I think it's just time for Mike McDaniel and to
it a move on. No more of them after this season.
You kind of need to hit a reset. Now. There's
still a lot of season to play, so things can change.
But if it keeps going the way it has for
the first two weeks, you have to do something to
fix it, and keeping those guys around is not going
(09:16):
to do it. The Browns and the Saints quarterback competitions
you touched on. Those guys you want to see lost.
They just simply lost. They're not as good or they're
not ready yet. We might see the sugar Land later,
we might see Tyler Shuck later, but I don't think
there's any rush to get any of those guys on
the field. Dylan Gabriel's going to get a chance first,
so it should be really interesting to see how that goes.
(09:38):
Getting over to our next tier here, the bad tier.
This tier is a little bit better than awful. They
have a little bit of hope. The awful tier has
no hope at all. We'll start off at the bottom
of it. The Bears right here at the bottom, and
they were so close to being awful. The vibes around
this team are awful, but there's still a little bit
(09:59):
of hope. You still have a new head coach, a
quarterback in Caleb Williams that's still learning in his second year.
You have a lot of very talented players on the roster.
Romo Donz's really stepped up huge this season. I've been
very impressed by him. There's some things to like with
this Bears team, but there's also things not to like.
Of course, the way that they played in Week one
(10:21):
after they had a pretty comfortable lead awful. They give
a fifty two points to the Lions. Awful. The defense
is injured and it's losing its best cover corner in
Jalen Johnson for the season. Awful. That offensive line pretty bad.
You have DeAndre Swift, who's one of the worst starting
running backs in the NFL, even when the offensive line
(10:42):
is opening up holes for him. There's just a lot
of bad with this Bears team, and hopefully they can
figure that out soon. The Jets right above them in
this bad tier. This is a Jets team that Justin
Fields surprised some people in Week one. He regressed back
to the mean, one of the worst quarterback performances we've
seen in a long time. It doesn't help that he
got can cussed. Tyrod Taylor will start this week in
(11:04):
lieu of Justin Field. Justin Fields, who's already been determined
to be out this week with a concussion. That's gonna
be something to watch see if the Jets are any
better under Tyrod. The Giants also in the bad tier.
I are not as close to Aufel as those other
two teams are, because they showed me something. Russell Wilson.
How about a career high four hundred and fifty passing
yards just out of nowhere. How about that Nolan. That's
(11:26):
not something that anybody had on their bingo card right now.
They put up thirty seven points, their defense didn't get
it done. That's a really good Cowboys offense, so it
seems like only one of the units can work. They've
got a matchup against the Chiefs next week on Sunday
Night Football. I don't think that's gonna go very well
for the New York Giants, but who knows. Maybe they
could surprise some people. Maybe that's the final nail in
(11:49):
the coffin for Homes and the Chiefs before they make
some big, big move. And the last team I want
to put in this bad tier, it's the Tennessee Titans.
The Titans are in interesting. Cam Ward is playing a
lot better than his numbers are. He had, of course,
that magical touchdown play where he found his fellow rookie
crossbody running, jumping backwards, the exact stereotypical throw that you
(12:12):
tell everybody to never make. But cam Ward is doing
what he's able to do. Escape, extend plays, find guys.
That offensive line is failing him, that defense is failing him.
This Titans team is going to be bad, but they
found a franchise guy in cam Ward. There are things
to like about this Titans squad, and they get the
Colts this week. I can't say that that's going to
(12:33):
be a easy win despite how good the Colts are playing, Nolan,
I think so.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
Yeah, cam Ward's is playing great. Like you said, you
have to watch him and understand how good he's been playing.
Number wise. He only that was his first touchdown pass,
his magical cross body throw that was his first career
and fell touchdouf pass. It's one helld number forever and
definitely one of the more interesting pasts I've seen in
my lifetime. I've never once in my life seeing anybody
at any level make death throw and have it work
out for him. So I'm hey, that's gonna go down
(13:01):
to the memory, that's for sure. But like you said, yeah,
I mean the offense just isn't it's just not the best.
I mean it's not great, it's not horrible, but you know,
it's just they have they have to find reliable receivers
who are gonna get open their O line. Like you said,
it's just not just not coming it. Neither's no defense
or defense really isn't making plays, and they need to
be just kind of they're they're just not really a
(13:21):
well rounded team. They have weapons, but not on both
sides of the ball to make plays constantly. So they're
just gonna stay respective. Hope, maybe a little about hopefully
do I want to see can't Moore do well within
the next make the Titans? Have the Titans do well
and hopefully next year, because I think they can. I
think your team, if they draft right next year and
play their cards right this year, they could be you know,
better next year, hopefully. Giants. I mean, I'm I'm gonna say, man,
(13:45):
who doesn't like to see Russell Wilson.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Have a great game a lot of times? Man?
Speaker 3 (13:50):
I mean, you can't let let him, let Tony twelve
Seattle Seahawks. Russell Wilson come out for a little bit.
Now spread his wings and just let it fly. I mean,
career high passing yards that catch him e leaked neighbors
was unbelievable. Scattaby looked great. I mean, Cam's gotta be
looked amazing. I love it. I love watching does a
guy just play hard, nose the ball, he's gonna run
through the defense and it worked out. I mean he
(14:11):
had a great game. The Giants, Yeah, they got the Colt.
You said they got the Colts. Next week, you said.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
Giants have the Chiefs on Sunday night football.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
Oh cheez, Okay, Yeah. I think that it's gonna be
real test for the for the Giants. I think if
they managed to be the Chiefs, which is honestly doable,
if they play the way that this week, which is
gonna be criffical, because obviously that could have been a
once in a life.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
I think it's I think it's just real quick. I
didn't mean to interrupt you, but I think it's crazy
to see how far the Chiefs has fallen that you're
saying the Giants have a chance against them this week.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
The Giants have played good this year. I mean, I
know you're a Giants fan, but from what I've seen,
I feel like the Giants are playing good football. I
mean I think it's possible. I mean they still had Okay,
they have Russell Wilson. If you mentioned the mad Jamis
Winston and then you're the worst case scenario. The good
thing for them, Their worst case scenario is Jackson Dark
who look good in training camp. So I mean they
(15:03):
got obviously got elite nighbvers camps, gat it. They have
good weapons. So I think that the Chiefs offense, I
think the Giants could win if the Chiefs offense if
I'm played like they have, which is just they haven't
played good. So the defense is still a Jet. So
I mean, if they can manage to just score one
or two touchdowns, I really believe. I think that they
managed to score three touchdowns that game, they win. I
(15:23):
think that's that's why I see it. But just that's
how I see hopefully then the Jets. The Jets. Yeah,
I mean Tyron. I love Tyrod Taylor. I love what
he's just kind of like a journeyman, just making the
winner on the league. So I'm excited to see him start. Yeah,
seeing Justin Fields do so poorly. Granted it was the Bills,
one of the best defenses in the NFL have four
Fantasy points. I mean Breis Hall had like one. The
(15:44):
Jets just got smoked. They played a really good Bill team,
so he can't really you know, no one expected the
Jets to win, but seeing him lose that bad, I
was quite shaking up a little bit, I guess. But yeah,
Justin Field had a great week one against the Steelers
and then just couldn't get it done. This week he's
played horrible and the Bear I hate the Bears, so
happy for that. I missed Ben Johnson though, but yeah,
(16:06):
fifty fifty point and the Bears felt good. Yeah, that
was the last weekend for me, so hopefully this week.
I don't know the Bears. I'm not sure what they
played this week. I believe I don't know who they play.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
Got the Cowboys this week, but the Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
I think the Bears start owned three, I really do.
I think the Bears are owned three, and then my
my friends were Bears fans will say fire Ben Johnson
restart the cycle. So I don't know. I like seeing
the Bears lose as it makes our friends Matt, but
also it's the same dimensions, so screw the Bears.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
So I didn't I didn't really think that there was
gonna be a lot of animosity between Lions fans and
Ben Johnson. That felt like a situation that everybody knew
was coming. But clearly, clearly there was some animosity there,
some f you Ben Johnson chance reigning down at Ford Field?
Am I the one that's out of the loop there?
That felt at like out of nowhere for me?
Speaker 3 (16:56):
I mean, when you're head, when when you're oc who
we've had for four years, decides to go interview. The
reason we're mad at him is because we believe we
lost that NFC the NFC game to the Commanders because
he was more focused on his head coaching job with
the Bears than trying to play call for us. That's
what we believe as Lions fans. Because it's not just him.
(17:18):
Though we booed Matt Stafford last year, two years ago
in the playoffs too, we don't. It's not that we
don't like him, that what he did for us, and
he just he's playing for a new team. We're not gonna,
you know, clatform him we're not gonna cheer him out.
And while we're playing against him, well we still like
Ben Johnson. We just we don't like him. We're playing
the Bears. Just how it did. I mean's he's he's
he's your new division rival head coach. He can't root
for him. He didn't win us. I mean, we didn't
(17:39):
win anything special with him. We made the playoffs, been
fifty to two, but we didn't you know, we didn't
win an NFC championship, didn't go to a super Bowl
like we were promised. Granted, you know, it's alliance. We'll
take what we can get, but we were just you know,
we were just happy to go there. And yeah, it
just sucks seeing him go to original division rivals, the Bears.
But maybe he'll maybe we'll come back to us. Maybe
we'll see he's not built for it and come back
to the Lions.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
And maybe maybe maybe he may. Rob brought up the
Josh McDaniels comparison on our show yesterday, So maybe maybe
there's a little bit there. Returned back to the Lions
and bring them from will.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
Come back in like three years, because Spiders comes back.
We'll take them back with open arms at that time
until bad screw Van John.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
We'll just have to see. We'll just have to see
how it goes.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
Though.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
This is where we get to our first of the
brand new tiers though Nolan first one. The et tier
that I've split up into leaning towards bad and leaning
towards good. We've got the leaning towards bad here. There
are five teams in this tier. I just split the
at tier and half. Ten teams was way too many.
These teams I think could be good, but I think
(18:42):
are maybe closer to bad than being good at this point.
I've got the Patriots here at the bottom of this tier.
They're good potentially. I like what I saw out of
Drake May, but that defense hasn't lived up to expectations.
That defense has not been able to shut down the
way that we wanted them to. After all of the
money and resource and positions and new players that they
brought in to shore up that defense. I know it
(19:04):
was a bad defense last year, but they brought in
Mike Rabel, they brought in Milton Williams. They have a
lot of big pieces that came in to help that
defense out, and it hasn't really translated. They gave up
twenty seven points to the Dolphins. That's just not a
great look. I want to see more out of them.
They're still undecided, but more towards bad than good. The
(19:25):
Panthers in the same kind of boat. I would like
what I saw to Bryce Young in the second half. Granted,
that was a very sloppy game in the second half,
lots of big penalties, lots of penalties really on every
single play, it seemed like, but he was able to
get the Panthers back into the game like he did
at the end of the season. I'd like to see
him do it for a full game. But maybe he
(19:47):
just needed to warm up a little bit. And I'm
a big fan of what I saw to Bryce Young.
Still leaning towards bad because it was only for one quarter,
or really only for half a quarter, but still not
bad enough to be bad yet also in that tier.
The JJ McCarthyism is coming down. Look, this is what
I've been saying, JJ McCarthy. Only one good quarter. It
(20:08):
was a great quarter. It was an elite quarter, no
doubt about it. It was also against the Bears. They collapse.
That's not what you want, it's not what you need.
And then he has another awful game, and he comes
down with this phantom injury. Nolan. This injury I simply
do not believe is a real thing. I'm sorry it
could happen. Maybe I'm wrong, and I don't like to
be ignorant about these kind of things. I don't like
to accuse people of not having injuries, because injuries are serious.
(20:32):
But at the same time, he played the whole game,
he didn't look noticeably hobbled, and now all of a
sudden he's weak to weak with an injury. I think
that they just want to see if Carson Wentz is better,
which he might be. He might be better. Steelers also
ahead of them here in that kind of leaning towards
bad tier. Aaron Rodgers had a really good game and
(20:54):
then he had just an okay game and the Steelers loss.
I'm really more concerned about that Steelers defense than any
thing at this point. That's the Steelers defense. That's kind
of been their iron curtain, the thing that keeps them
at that nine and eight kind of situation. But now
it's just kind of falling down. They're getting old. There's
a lot of nice plays. I like what they've done.
I liked some of the pieces they brought in. Jalen
(21:15):
Ramsey's played really well for them in the first two weeks.
Couple interceptions, a game winning tackle. But they've given up
more than thirty points total in each and every game
so far, and they did it against the Jets and
the Seahawks. That's not a great sign. I'm a little
concerned about them. And the last team in this tier,
it's the Las Vegas Raiders. I love Gino Smith, but
he looked awful. Now, I want to say, I think
(21:37):
that was more about the Chargers defense being amazing than
just about anything else. That Chargers defense was so impressive.
We talked about it in Winners and Losers in our
last show, but that Jesse Minters defense just earned him
a head coaching spot. I truly do believe with the
way that they're playing, if they can keep that up,
that was one of the most impressive defensive performances that
(21:58):
I've ever seen. I think will be good once they
stop punishing Ashton Genty get the ball to him, once
brock Bowers gets healthy again and he can be used
as a true receiving threat. That's kind of the lynchpin
of their offense. Brock Bowers and when he's hurt, it
just makes it go a lot worse for that Raiders team.
Max Crosby also really good. They get a date with
the Commanders this week, potentially without Jayden Daniels. That game
(22:22):
could be huge for both the Raiders and the Commanders
this week.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
Through three interceptions one hundred and eighty yards, pig poor.
But then you look at the defense, like you said,
I mean just making plays all over the field. Yeah,
I mean the Raiders good team, great offensive offensive. See
of gent Like you said, who is as they need
to give it. I'm not sure why they're not giving
him the ball. He was the first running back off
the board and they're just not utilizing him to the
(22:52):
extent that he could be used. He's a good running back.
We saw that in college. He was a Eien Canada.
Give him the ball. He's gonna find he's gonna find holes,
He's gonna make it play is give them the ball.
Then you have brock Powers, in my opinion, the best
tight end in football. But obviously it's hurt, so you
can't go you can't utilize them. And then, in my opinion,
one of the most underrated receivers in the NFL Jakobe Myers.
He's a great offensive weapon. He is so reliable, he's
(23:14):
always there when you need him to and he just didn't.
I mean, Gino Smith has a bad game. He's not
going to get the ball, but he was targeting in
most of the game and he couldn't get You just
couldn't get it done. I mean, the Raiders are good
when they want to be good and when they're healthy.
When they're healthy, I think they'll be a legit team. Baby.
The Steelers, the defense, like you said, they have obviously,
like you said, they've been playing. Their defense is been
(23:35):
playing shaky but good. Obviously you have You're brought in
one of my favorite old time players from college and
just from the NFL at the Patriots. You brought in
Jabrill Peppers to kind of be one of your safeties
and one of your kind of one of your hard hitting,
good corners, good lockdown safeties. And he's not doing an
Okji with that. He's making good plays, making throw tackles.
Obviously they have t. J. Watts. Still, he's gonna be
(23:58):
the best thing on their defense, and they're off is
not looking horrible. But when when you go when Aaron
Rodgers goes some four touchdowns to I think it was
only two or maybe one. Yeah, it's a it's a big,
big drop off, but you're not gonna throw four touchdowns
each week. They have a great offense though, Dk Metcalf,
Pat Fryer Moove. I mean, they have a really good
They have good offensive weapons. It's just a matter of
probably wanted to be utilized and if they can keep
(24:20):
utilizing them. Because if they're they if they keep playing
like this, like you said, there'll be a nine to
eight team again in losing the playoffs for a show
like they've been doing the past ten years. So I
think maybe this is the year the finally usially all
their weapons. Yeah, the first round out it but who
knows the vikings. Yeah. Jaj McCarthy, I think it's time
for Carson Wentz. I'm I'm really high on Carson Wentz
this year. Like I've said, Jason McCarthy has comment to
(24:43):
the best situation possible and he can't get it done.
I think if Carson Carson Wentz, I think can do it.
He brought the Eagles through a Super Bowl back up
from a homes He is going into one of the
best spots in the NFL as a tenured quarterback who
was known to make good plays. He had one of
the best offensive weapons in the NFL. JJ McCarthy t J. Hockinson.
(25:04):
I mean, hey, they're good, their defense isn't. Their defense
is good, not you know, great, but it's good. But
I think that the Viking could definitely be better with
ale JJ McCarthy instead of Carson Wentz. Panthers, yeah, brace
showing a lot better. Trueba Hubbard played great, love Cheuba Hubbard.
But yeah, the Panthers offense is still looking good. Their
defense isn't. That's the problem there. Panthers defense is just
(25:26):
not doing what they needs to be doing, which is
stopping other teams for scoring. But they're just not doing
that too well. So there's gonna stay in bad And
then the Patriots like, yeah, Drake Mayley good, uhaon he
Chavon Henderson is not living up to the hype. I
think he's just not playing nearly as good as he
will project saying he's gonna play. He's not playing bad,
but he's not playing up to you know, running back
(25:46):
one standards, you know, taking over Romonder Steves's position. I
think their Bolls is honestly playing pretty bad. And the
Patriots until they can figure out what's going on with
those two running backs, I think they'll stay in bad.
If they figure that out, they can honestly probably move
the way up to good in mind, because their defense
is good. They have good defense, but they're running. They're
running game, which is very questionable.
Speaker 2 (26:06):
Yeah, for sure. That's just half of the ats here, though.
That's the bad half here. We have to get to
the good half here, because I think this is the
issue one that you said you were gonna have the
most issues with on me here, the Cowboys start off
my list. They're just barely in there. That defense is
still atrocious. They cannot stop a They could not stop
(26:27):
the slowest thing in the world. They just couldn't do it.
There's nothing happening in that secondary. Trayvon Diggs is one
of the worst cover corners in the NFL, and that
pass rush just isn't really good enough. You just let
Russell Wilson go for four hundred and fifty yards on
your head. That's not a good sign. But the offense
is good enough to keep up, so that is a
good sign. We'll see how that lasts. Because that is
(26:49):
not sustainable. But for now I'm leaning towards good with them.
The Seahawks, I'm in the same boat as the Cowboys,
except it's the opposite. That defense is amazing and it's
keeping them in game. The offense is doing just enough,
but if they go up against a real competent team,
not name the Steelers, they're gonna run into trouble like
we saw against the forty nine Ers. The Cardinals also,
(27:11):
I don't really know what this Cardinals team is. They've
won two games, they're two to zero. That's amazing good
for the Cardinals, but they've also won against two teams
that aren't the greatest, and they've done it in real
close fashi twice. A five point win over the Panthers,
a seven point win over the Saints. That is not good.
I need to see more at a Kyler Murray. I
(27:32):
need to see more out of this Cardinals team. There
is there is a good there, but there's also just,
you know, not enough for me to say that they're
going to make the playoffs. The Jaguars fall a couple
spots down here because of a loss to the Bengals.
I could not put them above the Bengals. I will
say I think they should have won that game. They're
better than the Bengals that day, but they couldn't get
(27:54):
it done. The Bengals found a way to win that game.
The Jaguars dealing with their own issues. Brian Thomas Junior
looks scared to catch the ball over the middle, maybe
for good reason, but also he gets paid to do it,
so you kind of have to go try and catch
those balls. Trevor Lawrence didn't look as bad as people
are saying he played, but he didn't look perfect either.
That defense has some work to do despite getting three interceptions.
(28:16):
This is the Jaguars team that I think has a
lot of pieces, but they just need to be able
to put it all together. And I think this could
be the year. I think they should be two and oh,
But for now, I'm just leaning towards good as opposed
to knowing that they're good. The Bengals also in that category,
and I think this is the more controversial one.
Speaker 4 (28:33):
Nolan.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
This is the one that you said you had the
biggest issue with. The Bengals lose Joe Burrow. Yes, I
understand that they fall two spots, two whole tiers. They
were in the playoff tier last year or last week.
This is a Bengals team that I believe with Jake
Browning and a two and o start. Crucially, they're off
to two and oh despite maybe supposed to be being
(28:55):
zero to two. They're off to a two and oh
start at this point right with Jake Browning for three months.
I think if they go six and six, with Jake
Browning hand over the reins at eight and six to
Joe Burrow in the middle of a playoff race, Joe
Burrow can get them in with the last couple weeks
(29:17):
of the season. I don't necessarily think he'll go four
and oh get him to ten and six. But if
you can stay five hundred with a two to oh
lead right now, a lead in that division, crucially, there
is some positive momentum for the Bengals, and I'm kind
of a Jake Browning believer over there, Nolan, there is
reason to think that this Bengals team isn't just going
(29:37):
to fall off of a cliff.
Speaker 3 (29:39):
No, I don't. I don't agree. I don't disagree with
you at all. Like I was saying, I don't like
them being there, but they, like I said, they still
have DeMar Chase, they still have g Higgins, they still
have Chase Brown, and defense, they obviously still have Trey Hendrickson.
So for defense they're often just still there. Their problem is,
though they're playing. I'm looking at their schedule right now.
I have a pretty brutal schedule coming up there. Vikings questionable,
(30:01):
but then you go with the Broncos, then the Lions,
then the Packers, then the Steelers, than the Jets, the Jets,
then the Bears, the Bears, the Patriots, and then go
to the Ravens, the Bills, the Ravens. I mean, they
have a pretty tough schedule. I honestly think they lose
half of those games. I think they lose to the Broncos, Lions,
(30:22):
and Packers. I think that's three losses right there. I
think they split with the Steelers. I think they'll win one,
lose one, so I think that's four losses. They lose
to the Ravens and the Bills and the Ravens again,
so that's three more losses, so that's seven. I think
they can probably go maybe seven and seven, six and six,
seven and five, maybe six and six, So yeah, that's
definitely doable. But I don't know. It's gonna be questionable
(30:43):
seeing how well Jamar Chase and that Jake Bonnie connection
will be. Bryan Timas Jr. I've never seen him. He's
never had that many drops in a game before. I
think it was like four drops and he's ever topped
more than two. So it's very very weird seeing that.
But I think they'll bounce back. Yeah, they should have
won that game, just didn't go their way. Just unfortunate
and some games happen to be like that. The Cardinals.
I haven't seen a Cardinals start. The Cardinals haven't started
(31:04):
two to oh since the last time they made the playoffs,
and they were eleven and five in the twenty twenty
one and they got beat by the Packers in that
round in that first round. But I don't know. The
defense is pretty good. He got Budda Baker in the
backfield in the deep secondary, and then he got Will
Johnson who's hit six everybody for some reason. So I
mean coming off injury in college too. I mean, the
Cardinals defense looks pretty good. The secondary looks pretty good,
(31:26):
hopefully if they can keep it up. I mean, they
don't need their good offense because obviously they have will
Will Harrison. Uh sorry, I can't figure his name right now.
But they have Kyler Murray. Well not Will Johnson. Why
do I fear the same? I don't know, I'm blanking,
but they have they have Kyler Murray. I mean he's
(31:47):
a not bad quarterback. I mean the soul of James Conner.
He's a good time. He's a good running back, gets
yards power, but works gets yards Seahawks. There's playing good.
I like that out of him. I like see Davia.
It has been do good and he just I mean,
he's a great corner. He was one of the best
corners in his draft class. He's still played the best
he has and he's played the best. He's the best
corner of this track in his class. Know not about.
(32:08):
He's been playing good. And I'm surprised your offense isn't
as good as they have been. You have a good offense.
You have JSN, you have tylerper Cups. Sorry, and they
lost Tyler Lockett. I forgot he went to the command
I thought you. I forgot he went to the Titans.
I mean, you have JSN Andkeeper Cup, two very good receivers, but.
Speaker 2 (32:24):
You have Sam Donald. That's that's why Sam.
Speaker 3 (32:27):
Donald with fourteen and thirteen in the fight. Granted, yeah
they had doesn't but they're even kind of compare JSN
to Justin Jefferson like kind of skill wise, but like
not really. But I mean I think that there's some relative,
you know, receiving similarities. I think you got an elite
receiver like Jaysn. Yeah, like a Jordan Addison and the
(32:49):
Cooper Cups sort of thing. Maybe like an Adam Thielen
Cooper Cup sort of thing. But yeah, I mean they don't.
I mean, and plus you have you know, Kenneth Walker
and Zach Sharbernet in the backfield, those splittings. Man, their
offense is I'm surprised their offense is the week Thun
right now because their offense is pretty loaded, pretty good players.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
I would say I think it's most offensive line more
than anything.
Speaker 3 (33:09):
Yeah, morav has stated of their offensive line. You know,
you know you're right, Or a few weeks ago when
you were like saying their offensive line is gonna be weak,
and he got really mad at you because you're like, no,
they're not. So you know, that's when you were right.
When it's when the team when a fan of a
team says no, you're wrong, and right, Yeah, their offense
a lot of I'm I'm sure it's just not good.
(33:29):
And the Cowboys, yeah, their defense is not playing good
at all without Michael Parsons. That is a clear different,
clearest day as how good of a defense. They really
are not good. But then you saw have Dak Prescott
and the CDEE Lamb for the best widest hero do
receiver quarterback duels connections in the NFL. It posted just
picked up George Pickens, just another just good receiver to
have wide receiver. Two, he's reliable. I feel like he's
(33:53):
calmed down a little bit, like he's not getting as
aggressive as he was in Pittsburgh. Maybe it's a change
of scenery, who knows, but yeah, I mean the Cowboy
So you are very like there's a reason they're in
the last tier of a good last spot, because they're
one loss away. If they lost the Giants this week,
I think they could have been bad. Maybe, but I
mean until they were losing a bad team, they're They're
(34:15):
sticking right there somehow, some way.
Speaker 2 (34:19):
Absolutely no, they are real close, real close to not
being in that tier anymore. But there are a couple
other tiers to go. We are onto the good tier.
Now just two teams occupy this spot. This really is
the battle for the final playoff spot. If you look,
there are thirteen teams ahead of the good tier. Only
one of these two teams is going to make the playoffs.
(34:42):
The Colts and the Broncos. They just played each other.
This one ended with a technical Colts victory, right, But
also there was a weird penalty at the end, leverage
penalty that allowed them to retake the kick. Daniel Jones
MVP season, Nolan, I don't know about that, but but
(35:03):
but Daniel Jones MVP season potentially loading right now. The
way that he's playing over.
Speaker 3 (35:07):
There, Indiana, Jones is putting some work to his name.
Man loving this man, I mean, he tore off the Broncos.
That defense is legit, that's the best defense in the NFL,
and he was just slinging.
Speaker 2 (35:21):
That's that's the big concern right with the Broncos here,
because the Broncos are supposed to be this really elite defense,
but they just have not really played like that super
elite defense over here. I mean, the Colts maybe are
just better. Jonathan Taylor Offensive Player of the Year is
a lot more realistic than Daniel Jones winning an MVP.
(35:43):
But both of these teams, I think are pretty much
the same, these two horse teams occupying this tier. But
I'm giving the Colts the nod over the Broncos simply
because of the way that game went, the outcome. But
that game very well could be the deciding factor between
who makes the playoffs with that far in a wild
card spot and who is sitting at home when it
comes to January and February.
Speaker 3 (36:05):
I really think that if the Broncos and bow Knicks
cannot figure out what's going on, I think the Broncos
will miss that spot. I think it will be the Colts.
Bon Knicks has been playing very well the past two games,
and like, I think it's the sophomore slump. Hopefully not.
I mean, look like Jay and Daniels going that right
now too, but right now, but yeah, bo Nicks is
just making some really bad reads, just not making the
(36:26):
best throws. And the Broncos d Yeah, like this is
supposed to be the best defense in the league. This
is supposed to be. Like I said last week, I
said the Broncos defense is good enough to where if
Bo Knicks plays bad, they can still take them to
the playoffs. And right now the Broncos defense is just
not doing that. Granted they're playing against like MVP Indiana
Jones right now, where he's just moving the ball wherever
(36:47):
he watches, wherever, wherever he wants the ball to go,
it's going there, and he's just making it work each time.
He's in a better environment. Daniel Jones, Sorry, man, he
couldn't work out in New York, but I mean he
might have found a spot in Indie gets his his
spis playing really good. And Jonathan Taylor saint Jonathan Taylor
do being you know, elite running back conversations again first
time since like twenty twenty one, twenty twenty two. Is
(37:10):
someone bright size for a good Cold team, especially with
Tyler Warren. He just played great so far him and Jones. Ooh,
Indiana Jones great. I mean that's that's a really good
connection right there. I think that this Cold team is
I think that with the AC South, I think they're
gonna be better than the Texans if they keep playing
(37:31):
like this.
Speaker 2 (37:31):
I could see it. I I don't think that that's
a little bit of a hot take, but the way
the Texans are playing. I still got the Texans ahead
of them. I thought the Texans would get off to
a slow start, but it's a little bit concerning my
original predictions. Texans started zero to three in there, but
will I still had them win the division, just to
have to bounce.
Speaker 3 (37:49):
Back what they beat week one? Was it the.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
Yitan's they lost the Texans? The Texans lost.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
Week one, they're owing two.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
Yeah, they're own two. Play they lost to the Rams
and then they lost to the Bucks.
Speaker 3 (38:04):
Yeah, I was like ten to fourteen.
Speaker 2 (38:05):
Yeah, those are two tough games though, Like those are.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
Teams two of the best offensers in the NFL. It's
just they lost by like four points in each game.
So I mean, you can't really it's good. They're playing good.
They're playing good. Forgot I forgot.
Speaker 2 (38:18):
About that Tans one, right, But let's we'll get to
the Texas in the second. Actually, we got the next
tier up, the playoff tier. Here. This is the biggest tier.
There are eight teams in this tier. The Kansas City Chiefs.
You know how close I was to kicking them out
of this tier? Nolan? Do you know how close I
was to kicking this Kansas City Chiefs team out. I
(38:38):
was so close to kicking this Kansas City team out
if they had not, if they had lost that game
by more than one possession, I would have kicked them out.
But the fact of the matter is they're sitting down
here at thirteen on my power rankings, which is kind
of crazy. This is a team that I don't think
anybody thinks has a shot of winning the Super Bowl
(38:59):
this year. Now, things can still change. It's early on,
it's only two weeks in, but that team just looks
a little bit dysfunctional and I don't really know what
the answer is to fix it. The forty nine ers
I have above them, they get a big win with
Mac Jones. How about Mac Jones coming out there playing
good in that Kyle Shanahan system, getting a win over, yes,
the Saints, but still a big win for Mac Jones
(39:21):
in his career. Maybe he will find a spot on
a roster with a quarterback competition next year. I don't
think he'll go that far, but a really solid backup
role he's carved out for him. I like Michael Pennix
and the Falcons. I know that might be a hot take.
I think Michael Pennix is really solid. I like the
way that he's able to get the ball out quickly,
and I think if his receivers Drake London could catch
(39:45):
the ball and not fumble it, we would see that
that Atlanta Falcons team would be a whole lot better
against that Vikings defense than it looked settling for so
many field goals. Here are the Texans we talked about them.
I have them right above that Falcons team, sitting at
number ten in the Power rankings. That defense is, for real,
(40:05):
the thing that is holding them back and the thing
that will hold them back all season long, the thing
that is stopping them from being a true Super Bowl contender. Nolan,
it's that offensive line. They have the worst offensive line
in football. They cannot protect CJ. Stroud and it's getting
to him. His throws are getting wilder, his receivers are
not getting the ball as much, and he just has
(40:26):
less time. The running backs have less room. Nick Chubb
scored his touchdown. Shout out Nick Chubb for scoring a
touchdown over there.
Speaker 4 (40:32):
For real.
Speaker 2 (40:32):
It's glad to see him back there. But still, this
is a Texans scene that desperately needs offensive line help
and they're not getting it. Anywhere. The team that just
beat him, the Bucks right above them. The speaking of
offensive line help, they are missing basically an entire offensive line.
Tristan Wurf's missed the first two games of the season
with an injury that he sustained at the end of
last year. They lost Kadeki, the other tackle for them.
(40:55):
Now they lose a guard for the season. This is
just brutal. Baker Mayfield has that dog in him to
get things done. He just finds a way every single time.
But it is not at all pretty football. Shout out
to Mecca Agbuca. Three touchdowns in two games for the rookie.
He's having a great rookie campaign. Taking a little bit
away from Mike Evans. Mike Evans not having the greatest
(41:17):
start again. He always seems to start a little bit
slow though. And the Chargers, how about those Chargers. I'm
a big fan of this Chargers team. I talked a
lot about it yesterday. I talked a little bit about
it earlier today. Jesse Minter. That defense, the way that
they're coaching that defense to get their hands up to
swat balls is innovative, and I think we're going to
(41:38):
start to see more teams around the league take notice
of that. When you have a guy that can't quite
get to the pass rusher, get in the passing lanes,
make life difficult, make them loft the ball a little
bit more as opposed to firing it in. That is
going to be the difference between the Chargers being Super
Bowl contenders and the Chargers missing the playoffs. Right now,
I don't have him quite in the Super Bowl contending tier,
but still the way justin Herbert playing the way that
(42:00):
defense is flying around again, that was one of the
best defensive performances I've seen in a very long time
by an entire team, the Chargers all the way up
to number eight. The Commander's here at number seven. They
played a tough team in the Green Bay Packers, so
I'm not gonna punish them too much. Jayden Daniels dealing
with an injury is a little bit scary. I'm not
sure if he's gonna play this week or not. A
bone bruise kept him out or hobbled him a little
(42:23):
bit towards the end of the game. I'm not sure
what's gonna happen. They've been very vague comments made by
Dan Quinn. It sounds like he is maybe going to go,
but also Marcus Mariota could fill in for a game
against the Raiders that feels a little bit like a
must win game for the Commies. And at the top
of this tier, it's your Detroit Lions, Nolan. The Lions
(42:44):
make a big comeback. They were at the bottom of
this tier last week, but after you dropped fifty points
against the Bears. Granted, they're not quite in that super
Bowl tier because it was against the Bears and I
did not like the way that they looked against a
real super Bowl contender in the Packers, but the top
of the playoff here, they're firmly back in it. If
Jared Goff can play like that every single week, Nolan,
(43:04):
they're going to be right back in the conversation with
the NFC North. But I do need to see more
out of them when they're playing those real top contenders
like the Packers and a couple more coming up later
on their schedule.
Speaker 3 (43:16):
Yeah, I mean, I don't blame you. I think that
the first week when they played the Packers, I think, yeah,
they played poorly, don't get me wrong, but it was
also kind of the first week is in my opinions
that it was like, you know, get the wear and
tear off, and we just played horrible as well. We
just weren't our coordinators weren't calling good, our defense played poorly,
and granted it was against the Packers and we didn't
We didn't know how good Michel Parsons was gonna be
(43:38):
with them. We didn't know if he was gonna play
or not. And then he comes out and just dominates us.
I mean, yeah, they beat us bad, they really did.
It's a bad fourteen point loss. But the Packers show
to be the tu legit team. But yeah, the Bear
the Lions come in and they just dominate the Bears,
not even close. It was just an I love that.
It was a huge win for the Lions, got their
momentum back for Field was popping. I think the real
(43:59):
test comes this week Monday, that football against the Ravens.
I think of depending on how well we could, how
well we play, I think it'll just decide to show
us how good of a team we really are. We're
playing an actual good team against a good defense. I
think it's gonna be in shootout of the game. I
think it's gonna be offensives offense. Who's gonna score the
most points. I think both defenses are good, not good
enough to stop each other because how good the offenses are.
(44:21):
So I think it's gonna be either a highest scoring
game like high thirties, maybe low forties, not not low forties,
like thirty thirty to thirty eight points a team each,
or it's gonna be low scoring or just a blowout.
But I really hope it the highest. I think it'll
be a high storing again. Also go lie something they
win and then commanders I would. Don't get me wrong,
(44:43):
I love Jane Daniels, but I really want to see
Marcus Merrier to play. I haven't seen him start a
game in forever, and I got I loved him in college.
So but yeah, they're looking good. I mean, yeah, Terry
mclaurin's not doing too good, but granted it's because Jane
Daniels isn't doing too good. He has a little a
little bit of a sophomore slump in my opinion, and
this injury hopefully can kind of, you know, give him
some if he doesn't play, I think it's smart if
he does hit it out and try to get it,
(45:04):
you know, get back into his groove. I think they're
playing the Raiders, who obviously don't have the greatest team
in the world. They're turning on a bad team. I
think that this is a must win game, but I
don't think it's a smart decision. You're kind of sit
your starter and give him time to trying to get
back into his groove. And obviously they don't have Austin Eckler.
He's out, he's out for the season. That's a loss,
a huge loss. But now you have your this very
(45:27):
well known, very praised running back coming in, whose name
I still can't say, Jacob something, So.
Speaker 2 (45:32):
It's just Bill, Just Bill, call him.
Speaker 3 (45:35):
Bill's calling Bill. We got we got Bill. We got
Bill coming in. It's like he's gonna say, and he's
very praised, very fantasy praise, verius praise. Has a good
running back. So we're gonna see how well you can
really if you can perform at the highest level. And
if he can, I think the Canons will be fine.
But if he can't, I think the Canons might be
in a bit of a short. We'll see Chargers. This
shart up seems look so good. Justin Herbert looks great.
(45:56):
Keenan Allen at thirty one looks great. Quentin Johnson proving
everybody wrong, says, yeah, got mitting down my head, I got,
I got. I'm catching.
Speaker 2 (46:03):
He can catch that.
Speaker 3 (46:04):
I love you can catch. He can catch. It's a miracle. Nah.
But I love seeing him play. I love the TCU.
Ken Johnson was great. He had a rough few years
the first few seasons in the NFL. Everybody's in this
guy can't catch. We got a league and he's just
catching ball less than right now, and I'm loving this
for him. I think he's doing great. I think that
this is a charge. Team looks great. The defense looks amazing,
their offense look amazing. This is in my one of
(46:26):
my one of, if not the most well rounded team
in the NFL right now, just based off how just
well rounded both sides of the ball are. In my opinion,
Bucks look great. Baker Mayfield is just gonna keep being
a dog. He really is. He he's talking trash, he's
making plays. He's doing it all for the Bucks. I'm
the offense out of the ball and I'm here for
it seeing Baker. I saw this tweet yesterday about him
(46:47):
when he was the defensive lineman. Scout player for the Panthers,
and see how far he's come with the Bucks. It's great.
I love seeing Baker do good. I loved him in Cleveland.
He was when he was at the Browns man. I
miss him. I loved him college. I love Baker Mayfield.
I think that this Bucks team is gonna be legit again.
Are the Texans? Like you said, they are a legit team.
(47:08):
They just don't have an O Linego Kleins is so
one of the best receivers in the NFL. It sucks
when you have a receiver to tanked Ellas out for
the year with that torn a c L M c
L and jury they had last year. The Texans are
still playing good football even though they're one to two,
which I didn't know. They're still playing good without him.
He just Shouan is playing good. They have enough weapons
on the offense. And seeing the Chubb score, Nick jobs
Nick Chubb. We all love Nick Chubb here Chile Nick chubbman.
(47:32):
But yeah, seeing him score granted kindly a garbage time touchdown,
but not really prety yard touchdown run. We love that.
So seeing Nick Chubb score was a really good time.
Who you can't you can't do that. In fact, we
all love seeing that happen. So yeah, I mean the
Texans are still just questionable until they managed to fix
their O line. They just won't. This won't be, like
you said, legit contender the Falcons. Yeah, this, Michael Michael
(47:54):
Penicks looks legit. I mean he looked great. Michael Penis
is playing great football. Kyle Pitts man, I mean he's
actually it's the year. It's finally it's his year. He
should have been taking first overall in fantasy for every team.
But I mean, yeah, when like this is why he
was regarded as the greatest scout tight end scout of
all time. I mean, he is a freak athlete and
(48:17):
he can catch him block, and he's finally showing when
they're using it, which they are this year, using more
of them than they have been before. He's shown it
to be such a great height end. He can just
do it all great hands and yeah, I mean Drake
London still good receiver. Yeah, he has a few drafts
as a fumble, but it's okay, still gonna be good.
It's all right. Niners seeing Mac Jones. Look at Mac Jones,
(48:40):
the forty Niner Jersey I mean, who would have saw
that coming. I had the Saints beating them this week
because I thought that the Niners was gonna be just
so poor without any of their players, without them just
being all hurt. But there there's four of their best
players being injured. I thought they would have lost the Saints.
Mac Jones proved me wrong, and I'm here for man.
Seeing mac Jones do good again great. I like seeing
(49:01):
Magdown's good. And the Chiefs I think the Chiefs. I
had said this earlier in the season that I think
the Chiefs were gonna lose the AFC West, and honestly,
if they keep playing like this, I think they will.
Their offense just doesn't look good. Patrick Mahomes is this
is easily, by far the worst I've seen Patrick Mahomes
play in years. Travis Kelsey he can't. He's just not
(49:22):
doing it. He can't cut it anymore. I'm not sure
what's going on with him. He just making bad plays,
not maetting blocked that, hitting blocks, not catching drus he
just can't do it. And their defense, their defense is
it's kind of like the Steelers, a great, great elite defense,
good offense. Steelers Chiefs defense is just not doing it.
I'm not sure what's going on there. I mean, they
just can't get it done. Also, it's not gonna help that,
(49:45):
you know, Rashid Rice is out with injury. It just sucks.
But yeah, until those chiefs TA can figure it out,
I think that they will lose the AFC West. I
doubt it, but at this great they will.
Speaker 2 (49:56):
Yeah, the Chargers definitely above them in my eyes for
that standing for that division. At least you could even
potentially throw the Broncos up there, but I'm not quite
ready to do that yet. That leaves us with our
final tier, Nolan, the super Bowl contenders. These are the
teams that I think, if the season ended today, would
be the ones competing for a Super Bowl. We got
(50:18):
three NFC teams, two AFC teams. Really, the Rams probably
could be kicked off this list if you really pushed
me on it, but I think this Rams team has
Super Bowl upside. Matthew Stafford playing really good ball right now,
that defense playing really good as well. I love the
way that they're getting pressure forcing turnovers. That is huge
for the Rams over there against some pretty solid competition
(50:40):
at least in Week one against the Texans, and then
they were able to take get it done against the
number one overall Pick and cam Ward and the Titans.
In Week two, the Eagles get a big win in
a Super Bowl rematch. Tush push potentially done after this
season after at what that game was like, there's a
lot more momentum against it. They need to just referee better.
(51:00):
That's about it. I don't necessarily think it needs to
get out of there, but still I doubt it survives
after this season. So Eagles use it while you can.
The Packers the best team in the NFC, arguably the
best team in football. I think there's a divide between
the top three and just about everybody else. But still
everybody else can win the division right or win can
(51:21):
win the Super Bowl. Right there, the Packers at number three,
for me, that Micah Parsons addition is huge. That Micah
Parsons edition means everything to them. That is exactly why
they went out and spent two first and Kenny Clark
for him, it's huge. Sucks Jayden Reid goes down, that's
gonna hurt their offense. But I like the way that
Jordan Love is playing. I like the way that Dobbs
(51:43):
and Wicks and everybody and Josh Jacobs, of course, who
is a has a nose for an end zone. Nine
straight games, nine straight games with a touchdown dating back
to last season. For Josh Jacobs, he just finds a
way and on every single play. The Packers playing elite
football right now. The top two teams we have the
Ravens and the Bills, the two front runners for MVP
(52:04):
last year and I think the two front runners for
MVP this year, and Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. The
Bills stay up top because they were able to take
down the Ravens in an absolute thriller. That game was
amazing in Week one, obviously, but we've moved past that.
The Ravens getting a massive win over a division rival,
the Browns forty one points, forty one to seventeen. That
(52:26):
defense shut them down. It was good to see the
defense get back after the way it ended against the Bills.
You had a really good Lamar Jackson game, five touchdowns
through the air for him. He is just a beast,
a monster and looking to win MVP yet again. And
then the Bills they did it on the ground, they
didn't do through the air. They took care of business
against the Jets, a game that also wasn't very close.
(52:48):
You had one hundred and sixty plus yards on the
ground for the Bills between Cook and Josh Allen. Just
a really dominant game overall for them. The Bills at
number one for me, they stay up there for the
second straight week, and I don't think they're going to
be dethroned going up against the number thirty two ranked
team in my power rankings on Thursday Night Football.
Speaker 3 (53:11):
I mean, if they lose to the Dolphins, I will
just be I don't know, I won't know what's real
or what's fake anymore at that point. But the Bills
are by far the best team in my opinion, in
the NFL. Maybe in the AFC. I'll say that the NFL,
like if the Packers are still up there as well,
But yeah, the Bills are just so good. Josh Allen
is still playing as an MVP caliber quarterback. James Cook
(53:34):
is still playing as an elite running back but maybe potential,
you know, offensive Player of the year running back. I mean,
he just got signed. He got his money, and he's
here to play. Got his four year, twenty six billion
dollar contract. I believe it was thirty I believe and yeah, man,
he's playing great. The receivers Coleman's will just stepping up.
He great receives, a great target for Josh Allen. Yeah,
(53:57):
I mean their defense just as good, just to lead
all around. Ravens Lamar Jackson still, in my opinion, the
most athletic quarterback in the NFL. Not the best, just
the most athletic. I think he can do it all.
He can run, he can throw whenever, any situation, he's
gonna help you get out of it. You have a
good receiving core. You still have Unk d Hop because
he still got it. You got Zave Flowers, He's proven
(54:17):
to be a good receiver, a number one receiver. You
have Mark andrews Field not really using it as much
that you still have available. You have Derrick Henry. It's
Derrick Henry. It's Derek Kenny. You're fine. And then you
have a good defense, your secondary. You just I mean,
they're just doing it all. They're doing fine. Yeah, they
lost the Ravens or they lost the Bills at one
point against the best offense in the NFL, and they
(54:39):
just we just seal them manhandled the Browns this week.
So holding the Browns only fourteen points. Yeah, their defense
is so fine against the Lions this week, it's gonna
be questionable. Like I said, I think it's gonna be
I think it's gonna be an offensive battle, but it's
gonna be a great game to watch. Nonetheless, the Packers
in my opinion right now and Super Bowl favorites of
my opinion, they've just been playing so good. Michael Parks,
(55:00):
it's just it's dominating. He's just done so good in
both games so far. Then you have Jordan Love who's
just really kind of burst out into the scene this year.
He's been good, but we've seen him do elite things
this year. With Jayden Reid and with him being out,
Jobbs and Matthew Golden the rookie stepping up. I think
that Matthew Golden is gonna be a really good target
(55:20):
for him now that if he's not going for Dobs,
he's going for Golden. And then you have Tucker Craft
one of the honestly top three tight ends in the
NFL right now. With Josh Jacobs. Yeah, this defense, this
defense and offense just looks so good. Eagles same thing
so well. Onto that both sides. A J. Brown Davante Smith,
dach Ertz or yeah, and then Jalen hurts well on
(55:44):
the defense or on the offense. Jai I think, yeah,
like he said, the twist push after this year, it's
definitely gone. There's just so many you just can't like
call it right. There's they always call fallse starts on
either team, delay or there's always just something going on.
But I think this year is just the last year
for I think it has to be. I hate to
say that, but it's just so over. It's just so good.
(56:04):
But yeah, the defense is still playing great as well,
and the Rams. Havin Williams is still proven to be
an elite running back. Davante Adams is playing great right now,
even if no one thought he'd be doing this story,
but I'm happy to see he's doing great. Knaku was
playing elite, and so is Matthew Stafford even in his age.
This Rams team is so good on both sides of
the ball still, and these all five of these teams
are absolutely in my honest see if I'd put the
(56:29):
Lions in there because bias, but those five teams are
by maybe the Chargers too, but yeah, those five teams
are easily by far Super Bull contenders know nothing about it.
Speaker 2 (56:40):
Yeah, absolutely definitely a lot to like out of there.
May Rob welcome into the show, joining us from the car.
Uh give us. I know you had a top five
prepared for your power rankings. You're right in time. I
just went over my top five my Super Bowl contenders.
Let's hear yours here.
Speaker 4 (56:57):
What's going on, Jeremy, what's going on?
Speaker 1 (56:59):
Knowing?
Speaker 4 (56:59):
I'm so sorry late to the show. I've had a very,
very long day, just got out of work. But calling
from the car, I had to make sure I gave
my power rankings because I know this is week two
and we got to make sure we lock into these
power rankings weekly. My power inankings are actually kind of
similar to you guys is honestly. I have the Chargers
(57:19):
sitting at five once again. The Chargers, in my opinion,
are just the best team or probably the third best
team in the AFC, easily the best team in the
AFC West. They're head and shoulders over the Broncos and
the Thiefs right now in my opinion. Even though that
offense was a little bit sluggish in the second half
of that Raiders game, they definitely played at a high level,
and that's all I really needed to see from them.
(57:41):
That defense is still a bit and I expect them
to continue This game. This weekend between them and the
Broncos is going to be crucial depending on it. If
they stay in the top five, if they climb, if
they decline, We'll see how it all goes and how
that all ends up. Big time game against the Broncos.
In that one at four, I actually have of the Rams. Yes,
(58:01):
it's a little bit of a shocking one. You would
say it would be the Eagles, But I think this
weekend between the Rams and Eagles is another massive, massive game,
probably bigger than the other one that I just mentioned,
because this is a team in the Eagles that in
my opinion, hasn't been tested. Yes, they played against the
Chiefs team, but.
Speaker 2 (58:22):
I think we lost him there for they almost.
Speaker 4 (58:24):
Lost that game. It wasn't for that babbled catch, that
babbled figure tips still my schol pretty much almost just
lost to the Chiefs. So I'm looking at them to
I'm looking at them as possible a questionable team and
if they can kind of climb back into it with
especially against a tough Rams team. So I got the
(58:46):
Rams sitting at four. The and then after that, I
got the Ravens at three. Same reasons as you guys,
great offense, great defense. I expect them to still hang
around and I expect to see that Bill's Ravens rematch
in the AFC Championship game. Packers at two and Bill's
at one. Packers are my NFC favorites right now, and honestly,
I can't really tell. I'm very very torn on who
(59:08):
to put at two and one. Al right, who to
put at one? But those are the top two teams.
They're very much alternate though they're very tough to pick.
This is gonna be a big time week for all
these teams. But I got Bills, Packers, Ravens, Rams, and Chargers.
That's my top five.
Speaker 2 (59:26):
Yeah, good list, good list, I like it a lot.
We'll run through my show you the tiers one more
time and then we'll move on to Thursday night football
boys before we end the show. Real quick, the tiers
here for you. We got seven of them. Here. We'll
run through the top to the playoff spot. Here the
playoff tier, the Chiefs, the Niners, the Falcons. We have
(59:47):
the Texans at number ten, Bucks nine, Chargers, eight Commander seven, Lions, six, Rams,
five Eagles, four, Packers three, the Ravens two, and the
Bill at number one. We're gonna get into here Thursday
Night football, though, boys a lot to like here from
(01:00:07):
a matchup that I personally have the number one team
in the NFL taking on the number thirty two team
in the NFL. So maybe this one won't be too close,
but there's only one way to find out. I don't
think the stats like the Dolphins either in this one.
The Dolphins have not won a game in Buffalo since
twenty sixteen. They have not won a game in Buffalo.
(01:00:31):
The Dolphins have not won a game versus the Bills
since twenty twenty two, and in fact, that win in
twenty twenty two is their only win in the entirety
of the twenty twenties. That is ten games. They're one
to nine in the twenty twenties against the Bills. And
if you just want to talk about Josh Allen in
their career, the Dolphins home and away two and twelve
(01:00:54):
against Josh Allen in his career. There are a lot
of numbers that are pointing to the Dolphins not winning
this game, including the way that they're just playing. In general,
it has not been a good sign with the way
the Dolphins are playing. Josh Allen has a career one
hundred and one hundred and eight passer rating against them average.
He averages almost three touchdowns every single game. This is
(01:01:16):
just a team that he beats up against and I
don't think that changes right now. Look for Josh Allen
to have a huge day against the Dolphins at home
tomorrow on Thursday Night football.
Speaker 3 (01:01:27):
I mean, looking at this, I'm looking at East right now.
They're giving Buffalo a twenty three percent chance to win
this game. I think the spread is eleven and a half.
They have the Bills winning by about twelve points, which
is honestly, that's that's giving the Dolphins in the credit.
I mean, the Dolphins offense is good, it's not that
(01:01:47):
good to keep the game in two and twelve. There's
no way I think the Dolphins go into Buffalo lose again.
Can you say what the lesson they won in Buffalo
is twenty sixteen to twenty sixteen? That is discussed? It is.
It's actually horrible. I've never heard of a team they
haven't won in Buffalo in ten years.
Speaker 2 (01:02:06):
Yep. It's bad.
Speaker 3 (01:02:07):
Or nine that's that's horrible. I've never heard about that. Well, yeah,
I mean that's bad. But then you have obviously you
have to who just like I said earlier, most likely
should move away from the Dolphins or football entirely. And
two and twelve against ash Allen. It's gonna be two
and fourteen after this year, most likely. But the thing
about the only thing I can see that goes in
(01:02:28):
the way of you know, uh, Miami, is the fact
they're playing Buffalo in decent weather. They're not going up
in the middle of the snow store I can have
in the past few times in Buffalo, So maybe maybe,
and all if the weather is somehow it's gonna be
good like it like eighties or seventy high seventies. I
think the Dolphins can perform in the warm, so maybe
(01:02:50):
they can keep it close. But so I think the
Bills went by like thirty points.
Speaker 2 (01:02:55):
Yeah, I tend to agree with you. I think the
Bills absolutely dominate them. May Rob you got thoughts on
this game?
Speaker 4 (01:03:04):
Yeah, Nolan, I'm actually really happy that he brought up
the weather because this is the one this is one
of the only times that the Dolphins are going up
into Buffalo and it's not snowing. I can't remember the
last time we saw these two teams square off in
Buffalo and it was not snowing. So they do have
a little bit of a puncher's chance with that one. However,
(01:03:25):
depending on how bad and this could be a hot take,
depending on how bad they get beat Like, say they
get beat down the same way, if not worse, then
they got beat down by the Colts. This is Mike
McDaniel's last game as a head coach of the Miami Dolphins.
If it is that bad, if it's if it's that bad,
(01:03:45):
if it is say like twenty seven to nothing or
twenty seven to three going into the going into halftime,
and the final score is like forty four to ten,
I don't see Mike McDaniel's keeping his job. I really don't.
Eleven and a half is a little bit of a
They're given the Dolphins credit, no doubt, but you gotta
you gotta give a team that's that has its back
(01:04:07):
against the wall some credit. You gotta give them a
punkintan this This is kind of like a must win,
or at least like must must play against the spread
or go for the spread. I should say at least
losing like in a reasonable fashion if they get blown
out again like they have been as of recently. This
(01:04:28):
is Mike McDaniel's last game as the head coach of
Miami Dolphins. It is an absolute frame wreck in Miami
and they're the number thirty two team in the NFL
for good reason. They don't have the worst roster by far.
I would say maybe they're like twenty in the twenty
to twenty five range, but their team in playing style
and playing as in the whole and for the first
(01:04:50):
two games this season, has been absolutely downright a tropis.
So yeah, that's just my take on it.
Speaker 2 (01:04:57):
I like it. Look, I will say I'm taking the
Bills to win by about twenty points. Thirty seven to
eighteen is my score prediction here. Uh it's it's going
to be a brutal, brutal loss for the Dolphins. I
truly do. I'm taking the Bills in my survivor pool,
so they better not lose this game. I'm I'm trying
(01:05:17):
trying to stay alive out here.
Speaker 3 (01:05:19):
Uh did you win?
Speaker 2 (01:05:20):
Yeah, I'm still I'm still thriving. I'm still surviving. Would
you tay you took the took the Ravens last week.
I've I've got Cardinals Ravens. I thought I might keep
the bird team up, but I couldn't look at all
the stats. And in the Seahawks, I was thinking of
they're playing the Saints. It's doable.
Speaker 3 (01:05:39):
Ah, that's a trap Seattle.
Speaker 4 (01:05:42):
I don't want to hear the slander against the team.
Speaker 3 (01:05:45):
We're not. We're just we're just we're just doing it
out there.
Speaker 4 (01:05:48):
You're just friendly bantering.
Speaker 3 (01:05:51):
Oh, I'm just say the trap game.
Speaker 4 (01:05:52):
That's all I'm saying in Seattle. I don't see it.
I think the boys got it on log but.
Speaker 3 (01:05:58):
Is a twelve man You can't bet against the twelve
met Hell yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:06:03):
